genuinely curious how the writers and larger dragon age audience would treat thom rainier if instead of being appropriately* repentant and putting himself in prison he blew up a major orlesian government building to instigate a chevalier rebellion or tried to have someone do some necromantic blood magic ritual involving uncertain danger and possible sacrifices to bring the innocent children he ordered killed back to life
#*appropriately as in showing the expected amount of remorse in the appropriate way in a society founded on guilt and shame#i think blackwall actually tells us a lot about how dragon age's writers conceptualize justice and deservedness of punishment#im glad we get the option to forgive him but why do we get the option when anders is exiled at best?#and later characterized as a villain by dai#when solas is willfully imprisoned at best and trapped in a horrifying psychological torture chamber at worst?#blackwall gets a full redemption happy ending if inky so chooses#and im not saying he shouldnt#i forgive him every time#but its so interesting to me that narratively speaking#he seems to earn his happy ending through submission to punishment via imprisonment#as does solas but blackwall is portrayed far more sympathetically overall#there isnt the same meta-level narrative slander and clear agenda on behalf of the writing to make you feel a certain way about his crimes#as there is with anders and solas#why? whats the difference? what did he do to buy himself that narrative goodwill?#put himself in prison? why do the writers love carceral punishment so much lmfaooo#mine#if you wanna screenshot these tags and add them to the reblog feel free#im realizing i prob just shouldve put all of this in the post but its too late now#i think theres actually a strong argument that thom does not do nearly ENOUGH to right his wrongs#where is his effort to reform the orlesian military? where is his criticism of orlesian imperialism?#how does serving in the inquisition have a direct impact on the people he harmed? it doesnt#when you compare him to someone like roy mustang#yes im comparing him to roy mustang this is my blog and you are never going to escape roy mustang comparisons here#roy's political ambitions following his war crimes are directly related to those war crimes#and his goals directly benefit the same group of people he harmed#their ancestors and family members literally#meanwhile blackwall just kind of does vague “good” deeds and gets a full redemption#he really does not make much effort to repatriate the harm he did as a soldier#he just moves on#which again.... no shade to blackwall. my inky forgives him

Hey girly~~
I'm a writer and blogger recently navigating Tumblr. Sometimes I worry that no one will really care what I have to say, or care about my ideas. What's the best thing to focus on when I feel this way? I think I'm just looking for a little encouragement💗. I hope this makes sense!
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
hey sweetheart, so sorry i've been extremely inactive. finals have been draining, exhausting, and overwhelming!! i'm almost done, but i wanted to answer your question because it made me sooo freaking happy!!!
this question literally touched my heart because i've been exactly where you are!! that feeling when you pour your thoughts and creativity into your writing, hit post, and then wonder if anyone out there is actually connecting with your words? i completely understand that vulnerable feeling, bestie!
first of all, i want to say how brave it is to create and share your writing in the first place! putting your thoughts out into the world takes so much courage, and the fact that you're doing it already shows how much passion you have. that's something to be proud of regardless of the notes or reblogs!
when those doubts creep in (and trust me, they visit all of us, even people with thousands of followers!), here are some gentle reminders and perspectives that have helped me create my blog:
1. remember why you started writing
✧ was it to process your own thoughts?
✧ to connect with others who feel the same way?
   ✧ to create something beautiful?
   ✧ to document your journey?
returning to your original purpose can be so grounding when the external validation feels uncertain. i keep this in mind whenever i'm planning ideas, writing my posts or even when i feel unmotivated to write a bunch of words onto the tumblr word processor. this generally just helps you focus on the purpose for your blog/writing.
2. focus on quality over quantity
✧ one genuine connection with a reader who truly resonates with your words is worth more than hundreds of passive scrollers
✧ some of my favorite writers and bloggers have smaller but incredibly devoted followers
✧ meaningful engagement > follower count (always!!)
3. celebrate the uniqueness of your voice
✧ no one else has your exact perspective, experiences, or way of expressing things
✧ the internet doesn't need more people trying to sound like everyone else
✧ your specific voice is exactly what someone out there is looking for
✧ authenticity always shines through and attracts the right people
4. remember that growth takes time
✧ most "overnight successes" actually took years of consistent posting
✧ tumblr especially works on connections and community building
✧ your words might be quietly collecting in someone's bookmarks even if they haven't engaged yet
✧ some of my posts that got almost no notes when first published suddenly found their audience months later!
5. create for yourself first
✧ write what brings you joy, healing, or clarity
✧ if you're excited about your content, that energy will naturally attract others
✧ when you love what you create, external validation becomes a bonus rather than a necessity
✧ the posts i'm most proud of aren't always my most popular ones!
✧ make sure to utilize aesthetics in your post, ones you enjoy are always a bonus, and it's so fun to design your post according to whatever aesthetic/vibe
6. engage with other writers/bloggers and creators
✧ leave thoughtful comments on posts you love
✧ reblog with your own additions
✧ join writing challenges or community events (example: tag games)
✧ respond to asks and messages
✧ community building is a two-way street! this is my favorrrrittee part of being a girlblogger.
7. trust the timing of your journey
✧ some days will be quiet, others will surprise you with connection
✧ consistency matters more than immediate results
✧ your words might be exactly what someone needs to read tomorrow, or next month, or next year
i also want to remind you that even the most popular writers and bloggers have moments of doubt! it's part of the creative process to sometimes wonder if what you're making matters. but just know your perspective is inherently valuable. your experiences are worth documenting. your creative expression deserves space in this world.
when i first started my blog, i would sometimes post things that got almost no interaction. but then i'd get a single message from someone saying "this was exactly what i needed to read today" and it would remind me why i started in the first place.
keep nurturing your writer's heart, keep showing up for your creativity, and keep sharing your unique voice with the world. the right readers will find you, i promise. and in the meantime, take pride in the courage it takes to create and share in the first place!
sending you all the creative inspiration and confidence vibes!! hope this helps <3
xoxo, mindy 🤍

I close the folder on the table, the one we spent the last few days carefully filling with your limits, your boundaries, your needs, and your safewords. Everything we’ve built so far… written, signed, and agreed upon.
I look over at you, to find you already watching me with those wide, eager eyes that haven’t quite learned how to settle yet. You’re fidgeting, like your body hasn’t yet learned where to rest when you’re waiting for me.
Good. That’s what tonight is for.
"Take a deep breath for me, sweet girl."
You do, and I hum softly in approval.
"Tonight, I’m going to teach you how I want you to kneel for me."
I watch your lips part on a soft breath.
"Not just once, but every time you offer yourself to me. This is where it begins, my darling. This is where you show me who you belong to. Are you ready?"
You nod eagerly. "Yes, Madame. I'm ready."
"Excellent, then let's begin," I purr, as I circle you slowly, my fingertips trailing across your shoulders as I come to stand behind you.
"I want you to start by standing tall, feet together, hands at your sides."
I wait until you do, and only then do I step in front of you again. My voice drops, low and steady.
"Now… lower yourself slowly, down onto your knees. Take your time, feel the movement."
You start to move, a little unsure, and I stop you with just the gentle lift of my hand.
"No rushing. Again. Slower."
You take a shaky breath, and I watch as you compose yourself before sinking down once more, this time slower, more intentional.
You look up at me for reassurance and I offer you a proud nod.
"That's better. Good girl."
I smile at your endearing reaction before I move to circle behind you, my hand ghosting over your shoulder.
"Spread your knees wider for me. That’s it… a little more… there."
I press my palm lightly between your shoulder blades.
"Back straight."
I watch as your spine adjusts, a soft breath shaking through you. You shift, trying to find the posture, and I hum softly in approval before I crouch down beside you now. My hand reaches to guide your thigh, spreading you just a little further until you’re open... offered.
"Sit back on your heels, darling. Hands… open, resting on your thighs, palms up. Ready to receive. Ready to serve."
I lean in closer, so you feel my breath on your skin when I speak again.
"Remember you breathe for me. You stay still for me. You hold yourself in this shape for me… because this isn’t just kneeling, my darling. It’s a gift. And I expect you to offer it like one."
Your breath shivers past your lips. You nod, but I grasp your hair, tipping your head back just slightly.
"Do you understand?"
"Yes, Madame."
I tap your cheek twice, with a pleased hum. "Good girl."
I stand up and move around you, letting my fingertips graze your back, your arms, your jaw, testing and feeling, as I watch the way your body fights to stay still under my touch. You’re learning already, and it makes my lips curl into something dangerously soft.
I stop in front of you again, lowering my hand to your throat, not squeezing, just holding. A reminder.
"Feel that?" I let my hand caress down over your heart. "That’s where your submission lives, right there in the way you choose to stay open for me."
"Yes, Madame."
I pause, letting you breathe, watching you drop into a more focused stillness.
"Look at me."
Your eyes flutter up, soft and full of something raw and beautiful.
I smile proudly, and tilt my head.
"You’re going to stay like this until I tell you otherwise. And if it hurts, if something doesn’t feel right, you will speak up. Understood?"
"Yes, Madame."
I circle you again, taking my time as I let you feel my attention pressing into your skin like a second set of hands. After letting you sit still in the same position for a few minutes, I stop behind you, leaning in just close enough to let my breath ghost over your neck before I trail my fingers slowly down the line of your spine. You shiver, exactly as I knew you would.
"I have to say, you look absolutely exquisite like this, my sweet one. And the more you practice, the more your body will remember what it means to be mine.”
You lower your head, like you're sinking into something deeper. I press a kiss to the crown of her head.
"Now… show me again."
We practice until every movement you make carries quiet reverence, and by the time I crouch down in front of you again, your eyes are heavy, hooded, and waiting… and I can’t help but smile slow and indulgent at what I’ve made of you.
"This is how I want you to kneel for me every time when you present yourself to me. Open. Still. Obedient. And ready."
I lean in and cradle your face in both hands, my thumbs brushing your cheeks.
"You did so well, my darling. You listened. You learned. And you gave me nothing but perfection."
I press my lips to your forehead, lingering there for a long moment, letting you feel the steady hum of my breath, my control, my pride.
"This is where you belong. Do you feel it?"
