"i read the wiki and i saw the pages/panels already, why do i need to read the comics?"

because a) some those comics fuck with awing dexterity and stamina b) there's a good chance shit is out of context or simply misrepresented (innocently, humorously, ignorantly or maliciously) and c) you know the beats/endings of tons of shit, but it doesn't impede your enjoyment of it, now does it? sure it's nice to go in spoiler free, but if the gimmick of spoiling material is all a piece of media has, then that piece of media is meritless. you knew who luke skywalker's father was before you saw the movie. is it still worth watching? you knew romeo and juliet died before you read the play. is it still worth reading? do you not want to go on a journey? do you not want to feel something? do you not want to commiserate about the human experience through art? a wiki will never be comprehensive enough to cover everything you would have read or seen yourself--it can't be, not without being the thing itself. even then, you still miss the things not on the page/screen, the things that are only implied, the things that go unstated, or else conspicuously omitted. don't talk to me about shit haunting the narrative if the only haunting you've ever been apart of was your passing despite your dogshit analysis skills haunting the conscience of your eng 101 adjunct professor in perpetual fear of losing their contract and being relocated from their car to under a bridge by demanding college students demonstrate basic reading comprehension, critical thinking, and coherent argumentative skills. boast about killing the author? my friend, you are cain advancing in the fields, skulking, stepping in abel's footprints, filled with murderous intent, with nothing but the chinese telephone-equivalent of a description of a weapon cutting into your soft palms.

Seeing as my internal rewards system has moved on to 'trans fiction' from 'queer horror audio drama podcast' I thought I should do a little roundup of everything I listened to the past few months.

A rough ranking:

Malevolent. Just squeaking into the top spot here based on 1) technical prowess (iykyk) 2) compelling characters and story and 3) they are my blorbos your honor!!! Mind boggling that Harlan Guthrie has so much chemistry with himself.

The Silt Verses. Only topped by Malevolent bc season 1 is not as polished, but it really doesn't matter. Top tier characters, amazing worldbuilding, intricate plotting and it had something to SAY about the casual violence of systems, the nature of hope, the complexity of being human in a world that tries to make us inhuman. Also, it doesn't rely on some thin recording contrivance (a framing device that has its place) and instead truly takes the mantle of audio drama without apology.

The White Vault. On the topic of framing devices, TWV has a very cool take on found footage recordings. A group of [researchers/archeologists] are sent to investigate a remote site in [Svalbard/Patagonia] and the podcast is structured as a documentarian presenting the notes, recordings and diary entries in a reconstructed timeline. My favorite element is that many of the characters don't make their notes in English, so the segments will often open with the VA speaking German, Spanish, Mandarin, Icelandic, Russian, etc etc before fading into the translation. There are miniseries between the seasons available on their patreon and they were so worth the $10 I paid to access them for a month. Reveals are slow, but worthwhile, and the mythology built for the show is highly original and intriguing.

Deviser. A one season contained story from Harlan Guthrie of Malevolent. Scifi, psychological, lots of wet awful body horror. If you're a fan of Harlan wimpering into a mic, you'll love this one.

WOE.BEGONE. Long, ongoing, and so so so far from the original premise it's hilarious, I'm ranking this higher than it maybe deserves for two factors 1) the creator and the VAs are clearly having a blast and 2) it's riding the line of taking itself serious despite a premise that invites irony poisoning without becoming too wrapped up in itself. It's fun, I think, that keeps w.bg strong.

The Magnus Archives. Should this be one up? Probably. But everyone bloody well knows tma by this point, it's good, great even! Beyoncé of horror podcasts.

I Am In Eskew. Only knocked down due to the actually godawful sound quality. Truly unsettling stories though (the one with the building architect haunts me) and a surprisingly realistic conclusion. You can see the bones of The Silt Verses here, from the same creative team.

The Magnus Protocol. Everything above this is there due to originality. As a sequel series, TMAGP will always suffer in that measure. However, I like our new cast and I do love an alternate reality. Curious to see where season 2 takes us. I'd like to kill Mr Bonzo in a fire.

The Inexplicables. Another one season story, this time from Rusty Quill, with really fun, flawed characters and no recording framing device!

Wolf 359. Storywise, great! Characters, excellent! Kicking it way to the bottom bc they just would NOT STOP referencing H***y P****r. Yes, Doug's characterization hangs on excessive reference humor, but that was one well I wish they'd left alone.

Red Valley. Knocked for HP references too (come ON british podcasters, do better) but more importantly for veering WAY WAY WAY WAY WAY too close to real life in season 3 onward. I was here for a horror sci fi story about cryogenics, not to listen to my worst climate disaster fears brought to life via hearing rich old sods try to buy their way out of consequences while the world burns and eco terrorism escalates. Too real. Not bad storytelling, just very much not fulfilling my escapism needs.

It's kinda crazy to me that anytime I mention this genre to normies in my life they say, "oh, like true crime podcasts?" And then I die inside. No dude, like radio drama. Like War of the Worlds.

Anyway, I'm off to get even less relatable by reading a zillion niche trans novels (hello Welcome to Dorley Hall, aka, what if there really was a 'trans cult' force femming dudes to undermine their masculinity? It's amazing how much yarn we can make by subverting the cis gaze.)

WIP Tag Game!!

Rules: you will be given a word. Then you share one sentence/excerpt from your wip(s) that starts with each letter of your word!

heyyy, thank you @sangrientojoe, my new mutual, for tagging me! this sounds super fun. the word you gave me is ANSWERS. funnily enough, that's exactly what the characters are searching for as they try to unravel the mystery that is my latest blorbo ;)

all excerpts come from the fourth chapter i'm working on in my fic called Ghosts in the Hearth! without further ado, here we go!!

A - “And I’ve had my fill of bad news, of storms or whatever the fuck, but I just get this—feeling.” She pressed her palm over her pounding chest, short of breath. “And of course Jayce isn’t helping matters. He thinks Cait is dead now, or maybe I made that up too, and I don’t get it— I thought I would get it, but everything I see of him just blurs the whole big fucking picture.”

N - No. No, how she felt about this didn’t matter one speck of shit. Not when she could still see the dried blood on the floorboards, accompanied by the scraped Vs. Simple drawn crows in a scenery that Powder liked to draw. How could anything matter, really, when he begged the earth for her to come back, without a single word?

S - Swallowing the lump in her throat, she choked out, “Who are you?”His head blurred, eyes glitching across his head, but he only grinned at the pain. Rested his tilted chin on his hand. He sang, he sang, like fucking Jinx he sang, “I’m wondering the same thing, niña.”

W - With a nod, Vi let go. Stepped back. Clipped the flask. Sniffed, wiped her nose. Just in case, clasped her itching, trembling hands behind her, scratching at her wrist. The question rattled her skull as they stood in this awful silence.

E - Everyone startled, staring at a heaving, wild-eyed Ximena. She seemed to come to herself, brushing wayward locks back to her bun. She took a shaky breath. “We won’t know,” she dragged another breath, “for sure what happened to him.” She shook her head, face lined with bitterness, eyes glittering with exhausted tears. “Not until he tells us. Not unless we wait for him. These theories are useless—give us nothing but useless fights—and they don’t let me sleep at night.” She collapsed onto her seat, voice weak. “So please stop.”

R - Reading to him reminded her of a time when she'd tell Powder bedtime stories. As they huddled together by the wall of the fire, him curled up at her side, her propping the book with her knees, it felt like both let out hidden children, guiding their bodies. Growing up again.

S - Soon, they sat by the hearth, each holding one skewer with raw pork in their hands. She fidgeted, blinking away the image of chipped, blue and pink nails, holding the cloche that hid the cupcake. The gag over Caitlyn’s face that created the crude smile; the drenched locks plastered to her face; the recoil through the hunch of her shoulders, followed by that horrid whimper. That bloodshot, glassy gaze, slowly morphing to cold hatred. The woman Caitlyn would become at the hands of her sister.

(it was extremely hard for me to find one for E, for some reason.)

It is 4am. I should be sleeping. However, since my own chronic illnesses are keeping me awake, I figured I would let you all in on my own personal disabilty/chronic illness headcanons for our favourite stranger things blorbos.

So because I am a firm believer that certain characters can not survive the Upside Down episodes without there being some form of physical impact to their well-being beyond the obvious mental toll I have thusly concocted a list below for you of my own personal headcanon'd disabilities and chronic illnesses and the characters that develop them.

Starting with Eleven for a change since y'all know I am obsessed with Steve, we'll shake it up a bit.

This girlie definitely gets Daily Migraines. You cannot tell me that the toll of using her powers is limited to the nose and ear bleeding. That powerful brain of hers absolutely forces inconvenient shut downs the stronger she gets and the more she uses her powers. (She and Steve bond over the experience of how shitty migraines are.)

Additionally, due to her significant mental trauma and abuse, our super girl develops fibromyalgia and all the lovely (/s) symptoms therein. As a fibro sufferer, I truly believe that El is a great choice to explore the impact the condition has on a person's mental, emotional, and physical well-being. (Is my fibro currently flared up and making me cranky? Yes. Yes, it is.)

Next up is Max!

This one is a no-brainer, especially post-season 4, but our fiesty redhead is wheelchair bound and vision impaired. I feel like she is primarily ambulatory, and can get by on crutches for short distances but between the impaired eyesight and the general chronic pain and weakened limbs from the multiple fractures in both her arms and legs she prefers the chair. It puts less stress on her limbs and while she grieves over the loss of ability to skate, gaining a new set of wheels to attempt tricks in - and give Steve an early heart attack - lessens the emotional hurt to be more manageable.

On to Will now, because that boy has s u f f e r e d and that means I am able to make him suffer more for my own catharsis as a writer.

Hoo Boy! Will has some serious goddamn upside down induced chronic conditions. First up, severe asthma, you cannot make me believe his lungs weren't severely fucked up from his first round with the UD. Boy was stuck there for 5 days in that ashy atmosphere and then you had the weird sludge tube that was shoved down his throat etc before he was rescued.

Number two, is a toss up between bronchiectasis or Chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD). COPD probably makes the most sense but either or would work. This boy's lungs are fucked I tell you, absolutely fucked.

Moving on to - you guessed it - Eddie! I couldn't do this lost without including the love of Steve's life (my own opinion you don't have to subscribe to it).

Eddie definitely develops Complex Regional Pain Syndrome following his banquet for the bats. His left leg is the worst for it, along with his abdomen and upper torso. If I had been more organised I would find the fanart floating around here of Eddie with crutches cause fuck yeah he would absolutely kill it with crutches. And also likely use them to hit people because the impulse is hard to control, especially in crowds with pushy people.

For consideration is the possible impact the bats may have had on his internal organs. But this I will admit is beyond my personal experience and chronic illness knowledge, it would still be interesting to see Eddie with ongoing gastrointestinal issues.

Last but by no means least my favourite whump victim Steve Harrington.

Now, to get the obvious and fanon approved chronic conditions out of the way. This boy has some severe head trauma courtesy of Billy and the Russian Interrogators. And with that comes a few staple chronic illnesses and disabilities, which, as previously mentioned, fanon has adopted. Chronic Migraines is number 1. Impaired vision and loss of hearing are number 2 and 3. The head trauma trifecta if you will.

In addition, I would like to put forward another chronic illness forward for consideration. Hypermobility either as Hypermobile Ehlers Danlos Syndrome (hEDs) or Hypermobility Spectrum Disorder (HSD). Why? Because it's again been kicking my ass and I want to cathartically torment my blorbos with it. I just also really like the idea of Steve having the ability to pull out the hypermobile joint thing as a party trick as a teen like I use to before it all goes to shit as he hits his twenties and suddenly everything hurts all the fucking time. I just also believe that being as sporty as he is, he definitely dislocated his shoulders and sprained his ankles and wrists on multiple reoccurring occasions, and just shrugged it off without realising there was a reason for that.

Honestly, the biggest thing for me is to inflict the same suffering I endure onto my blorbos for both equal measures of catharsis and representation.

The only illness I have that I have yet to find a blorbo victim for is my Postural Orthostatic Tachycardia Syndrome (POTs). Although I won't lie, I am very tempted to inflict it upon Steve post septic shock or bat bite infection because the impact that would have on his mental health? Delicious whumpage, and a great way for me to personally process my feelings about the disabling impact it has had on my life.

Anyway, it has now been over an hour and a half of typing this post AND the tags. I really need to try and sleep, so hopefully, getting this out of my head and onto your dashes helps that along.

Off topic, but fuck do my elbows hurt. The joint pain of HSD fucking sucks.

I have so many feelings about touchstarved character design pt 1 Kuras

So! First lets talk about how his whole outfit is just.... yassified priests garb. Like... the collar, the long sleeves, the "tabbard" straps, the gold. Its all very.... 3 peice suit high fashion is eating a catholic Fathers robes and a protestant Preists robes at the same time. Like the whole suit to me drips power.

Lets count off the different things that imply power to his outfit

Gold and stark white fabric (hard to clean and hard to find)

WELL TAILORED suit (high fashion)

J E W E L E R Y

Religious leader symbolism (Christian)

Fucking EPAULETS???

The hair (weird one but in animated/drawn mediums royalty tends to have longer hair)

If yall told me there was 1 person from Hightown (rich people land) and everyone else was from somewhere else and ONLY showed me the character lineup I'd pick Kuras as the hightowner tbqh.

Lets look at his "circles"

I dont have anywhere else to put this so... epaulets look like wings sleeves also imply wings. Makeup = crying gold. Gold bodily fluids = ichor. Ichor = divinity. that is all

A list of imperfect/broken circles/halos on kuras

There's attempted circles with his belts (inturrupted by his buckles and almost always at least two [i'll get to the one on his chest]). The buckles around his thigh in particular remind me of slashed circles.

There is an attempted circle on his chest (implying a flase homesty if you like the theory that veres chest is open bc hes more honest and kuras's is covered because hes more of a lier) that is left open by way of the empty preists collar. Like something religious was taken away. Its highly decorated so i think were ment to see it

The epaulets have some shape language of wings and halos imho and they also continue the trend of doubled up circuits (these are too angular to be circles but square triangular halos were in fact a thing)

His earrings are rayed halos (halos that have sunlight/sunbeams coming off of it) but even they somehow seem inturrupted by his ears when looking at how theres never a perfect circle. Another example of doubling round things

The golden cords on his hip (princely) are also imperfect circles and doubled up round things

What do the doubling up of round things (and honestly most things in some way or another. Makeup, vials on his chest, aprony tabbardy strappy things) mean? I dont know for sure but I'd wager its hinting at a few things

Broken halo

His Angelic body structure (see also: belt talk below)

A duality to his nature

Actually on the topic of halos he seems to imply a lot of shapes of halo! He obviously has the thin circular outline ones (for old testament prophets, angels, saints, Mary, and the symbol of the four evangelists according to Wikipedia), the triangle (less prominently) which is for The Holy Trinity (god jesus and the holy spirit),

and somewhat also (weirdly) square halos. Which was for.... *checks notes* celebrities who wanted to be painted like their blorbo jesus and friends... dont beleive me? Look at the fancy "not a belt buckle" thing he has and if its NOT giving painting frame I'll eat it.

Looking at the belt buckle square halo thing again it has been crossed out which makes me think that maybe kuras hates the rich and idolitry (komrade Kuras)

Another word for halo is glorihole. That is apropos of nothing i just had to learn that and yall do too now. Youre welcome

Anyways back on the topic

His too many belts moment at the hips really makes me think of the standard idea of a biblically accurate angel. Yknow. Rings of eyes around a central flame are a common depiction, the hidden rings on the inside are studded to look like false eyes to me. Especially so hidden behind a decorative false belt

The hiding of so much black (another dye reserved for royalty) under such pristine white makes me think hes lying to us, or at best putting up a facade.

THE ABOVE BEING SAID he only has two stripes of true black, the rest is a humble brown. And the belts look like theyre holding something in. I think theres a third layer to him

Layer 1: The Good Doctor Kuras Of Lowdown. Friends? You mean people im around so nobody suspects I'm not human! Yes i am human man and i eat human food!

Layer 2 possibilty a: MWAAHAHAHAHAHA I AM EEEEVILLLLLLL A FALLEN ANGEL!!! THIS IS WHAT YOU WANTED ISNT IT?!?! [Edgelore noises] [terrified screams of those who just realized this edgelord could kill us all]

Layer possibly b: this is the [insert accurate adjective here] of a killer bell- I MEAN MC. emotions. Like 300 gallons of them in one sitting. Possible 0 sum game. More likely hes a living nuke and will Go Off somehow

Layer 3: hey I'm feeling less catholic guilt can i still go sorta wild ish and not be eeeevillll? And also maybe kiss? Also I'm not actually baby I'm just unsure of how to be myself in this new way will you help me figure it out [happy ending noises]

Fav Character to Write For: Aaravos because i could characterize him in my own way and basically ignore canon bc he was just. Quick disclaimer: I mean no hate or ill will at all to any fanfic writers who’ve written this trope. You’re all very talented and u shouldn’t let my personal taste stop u from writing what u want to write. This is just me complaining for fun bcus I’m a brat and I care way to much about stupid internet stuff concerning my vampire blorbos. Also this isn’t directed towards any individual fanfic and/or fanfic author since I’ve seen lots of works that include this, and wouldn’t be able to name or remember any specific work even if I wanted to bcus I dislike this sm that I rarely stick around for long when this comes up in stuff I read. So plz don’t be like “oh this is about xyz isn’t it?” Bcus I guarantee u it is not

I’ve noticed this trope that’s become common enough to be annoying to me recently concerning Nicki. This isn’t a fanfic exclusive phenomenon, it’s also present as a general attitude among amc iwtv fans mostly which is a rant for another day. But basically what it boils down to is fanfic writers (pretty much always in AUs for reasons that will become obvious) characterizing/utilizing Nicki as the romantic rival for loustat and/or bitter ex who we should be rooting against bcus he’s interfering with the Ship. I really dislike this trope! As someone who’s a certified Nicolas de Lenfent fanboy it’s so disappointing whenever I come across a fanfic that includes Nicolas as a reoccurring character and he ends up being stripped of all his nuance and character traits and boiled down to unlikable romantic rival. It sucks! And it’s frustrating especially bcus theirs literally canonical loustat romantic rivals (Antoine/Antoinette for show fans bcus tbh this is a very amc exclusive occurrence) that could easily fulfill this role! And if that doesn’t suit your fancy we have love interests of Lestat that r generally disliked/unlikeable (at least imo) that could be used in a similar way (coughcoughDavidTalbotcoughcough). And u could make an argument that those characters just don’t have Nicki’s brand of drama and emotion and yes! I agree! That’s why I’m frustrated! Bcus I would eat up a fanfic that explored a love triangle or rivalry between Nicki, Louis, and Lestat where shit hit the fan over the unique conflict and drama that would unravel considering the characters and their dynamics + history, au-ified or otherwise, but I’ve never come across a fanfic like this! And trust me, I read a lot of fanfic. It’s just a little saddening for me tbh. I love Nicolas sm, I don’t like reading about him as the shitty ex bf and the shitty ex bf only, with little to no depth. The reason I’m complaining about this is bcus it’s reached the point where it’s clogging the Nicki character tag on a03 a bit, I keep finding fanfic with him in it and checking it out only to find him portrayed as a stock bitter ex character. And I honestly don’t know where this characterization even came from when it comes to the show fans? Bcus Nicolas has only ever been framed in the show as Lestat’s tragically and mysteriously dead first love, and it’s like, idk how u can hear about that and come to the conclusion that this guy would make sense as the romantic rival? Like poor Nicolas lol, he’s literally dead let him rest 😭. He doesn’t have any part in this ship drama 💀. And now I’m getting a lil off track and verging onto general Nicolas hate in the fandom and not just in fanfic, but whatever, I all ready decided I’m not touching that. But u know, as a side note, Nicolas in book canon was never once framed as someone who’s existence is a threat to loustat and the validity of their love, so u don’t need to make him about that! Louis and Lestat r immature messes who can’t function healthily ever but not to the point where Louis has beef with Lestat’s literally dead ex boyfriend 💀 c’mon now

Hello, You can refer to me as The Kraken or as ??? either works, as my actual name is unable to be pronounced by most sentient creatures. Natsu shielded herself as Leto’s sword came swinging down towards her. As she braced to be hit, Fuyu'li and Thancred both flashed forward to intercept her blade with their own.

“For once could the Ancients not be at the door of catastrophe,” Thancred huffed before pushing back the large sword with the help of his fellow gunbreaker.

Leto recoiled as a violet haze of spores was cast about her face, Minti having stepped forward to help cover Natsu. “If you cannot fight then you must get back,” she said sternly concentrating on her spell.

“Up we go,” Keith cheered out, helping Natsu to her feet before giving her a gentle spin toward the edge of the platform where Carter stood with Jannie, greatswords plunged into the ground to create a shadowy wall around a kneeling Hypnos.

“What happened to them,” Natsu asked, looking worried as the rest clashed with the Ancient behind her.

“Notice the ground? They're keeping us from falling into nothing,” he said, gesturing downward.

Natsu looked down and felt her heart leap. They were gliding along an aetheric railway on what looked like several glass cubes pressed together. 

“Fight, Natsu. Only you can get through to her,” Hypnos said, not looking up.

“And don't hold back,” Violet let out before appearing from a sigil on the ground beside her, firing off a heated round.

“R-Right,” Natsu answered, still getting her bearings and drawing her focus, preparing to engage.

As she held up her foil, a thunderous roar emanated from Leto that sent shockwaves through the group. The whole of the group seemed to falter, weakening for a moment until Urianger raised his astrolabe and sent a celestial wave of healing through them. Ahead, Thancred and Fuyu’li synchronized their strikes before being repelled backwardward toward the edge of the platform by a strong swipe of her blade.

Closing her eyes, Natsu channeled her aether then started to cast, sending a gust of air toward the other before summoning a rock to attempt to collide against Leto’s head, though seemingly off course. Stepping up beside her, Claudien strummed along his bow, face red as he sang aloud an old battle hymn. His aether flowered through her, correcting her stone’s course as he knocked an arrow and slung a barrage of arrows directly into Ancient’s back.

Rushing in as Fuyu’li and Thancred rose back to their feet, Keith started to punch and kick into Leto’s stomach before springing up into the air to attempt a diving kick only to be rebuffed backward. He blinked, looking down as aetherial tracks rose from under him. “Uh oh,” he said before looking up as a spectral train sped into him and sent him tumbling toward the edge to be rescued by one of Minti’s shadowy snares.

Finding the train rerouted back toward herself, Natsu sprung forward out of the way as Claudien repelled himself backward to narrowly avoid being hit. In close, she began to strike against Leto’s blade, finding herself rebuffed easily by the Ancient’s blade. Below the platform a larger set of tracks appeared followed by a much larger train pulling underneath them. 

“Get back! It’s going to blow,” Violet called out to everyone as the train let out a loud whistle.

The party quickly drew to the edge of the platform together before a plume of steam erupted from below over and over. Once it died, Leto faced toward them, her blade raised high and gathering aether. “Quick! To the other side,” Urianger called out, hurrying across followed by the group.

Leto swung down hard, impact sending little sparks of light through the second half of their platform, reflecting off Carter’s shield. “I grow weary of this. All in,” Thancred called out, launching forward to grab Leto’s attention again as he struck her and ignited an aetheric bullet. 

Minti brandished her cane again, projecting a spore cloud about Leto’s face again before closing her eyes tight and causing a dark lily to bloom then wither around the Ancient, causing her to choke out. Raising his astrolabe above his head, Urianger called forth a star shower to cascade against her next before drawing a card and quickly blessing Claudien with it.

Claudien continued to sing, switching to a minuet as he squatted and braced himself on his back leg before firing a fiery red aetheric arrow into Leto, causing her to shake her head and recoil back. Beside him, Violet dropped onto a knee then summoned her anchor gun turret, firing it off to chain her up before yanking her down into the ground. “Alright himbo! Do your swiven’ flips and kicks now,” she ordered Keith.

“Me? Is she talking to me,” Keith asked, blinking and pointing to himself.

“YES,” the rest shouted as Leto struggled against the chains. Keith nodded then rushed forward, releasing his chakras as he delivered strike after strike, before delivering a solid kick as he did a backflip, eyes widening as the familiar set of tracks formed under him again. Leto breaking free, she summoned the aetherial trains to run across the field again, sending Keith flying into the distance.

“Oh no! Keith!” Natsu yelled out, watching him tumble out into the distance.

“He’ll be fine. Don’t lose focus Miss Obinata,” Minti said, rushing to the edge of the platform and raising her crook, shadowy aura reaching out into the cosmic abyss.

“Come, we can end this together,” Fuyu’li said, tugging on Natsu’s hand, “Our special attack!”

Natsu nodded, looking at Leto before holding her focus out in front of her. Rushing forward, Fuyu’li tossed a mirror into the air then fired a cartridge into it. The mirrors multiplied, spreading out over the arena, reflecting toward Leto. An aetheric rose blooming from Natsu’s palm, she closed her eyes then drew in her friends’ collective aether before tossing it inward toward the highest mirror, shouting “Survival Strategy!” with Fuyu’li.

Leto cried out as the rose petals scattered then began to violently create red beams through all the mirrors in a brilliant crimson light. Falling to her knees, she let out a wail, dynamis around her fading until she was just Patient Heaven again. The galaxies faded as did the tracks and platform. Nought was left of where they’d been, looking much like they’d never left the train yard.

Rushing in, Natsu slid through the dirt then hugged Patient Heaven tightly, letting her sob before sobbing too. “This world…it’s so empty without them,” Patient cried.

“I know…I know…But they grew into strong, good men. Wonderful men. But it’s over now. You have to accept it…but you don’t have to accept it alone anymore,” Natsu said, sobbing hard as she held tighter.

Together, the two cried it out, the rest giving them a moment to do so.
