Audrey is The Worst™ to me because she has no redeeming qualities. Like literally there's nothing to her that I could use to set up the foundations of a redemption arc.

Bob Roth also counts in this. Nothing 'good' or 'redeeming' has been seen.

Colt is a close third as he also doesn't have anything to set up a redemption foundation, but given that he never appears on screen, is currently dead, and all we know about him is Felix's testimony, I am not counting him.

Gabriel, Tomoe and Andre B are fuckin up there as of Season 4-5 because FUCK. I think there's enough where I can still write au content of them being 'still dicks but decent', but Canon? No fuck them.

So is Andre G actually because FUCK man don't play around with food safety!

Can we get a hatepiece (or mild criticism piece) on Ephemeral the episode?

Nnnnnot really, I'm afraid. They hyped it and it was bad, but it was just a slapdash work which was re-set at the end, not a thematic catastrophe that defined the direction of the entire series.

The one thing I'd note to it is that the reason it was bad isn't the most common complaint you hear, which is that Marinette is a dick in it. She is, of course, but her being OOC because the plot needs to happen follows the pattern of the other plot contrievances that make it evident that they really didn't know what they wanted this episode to be. It was allegedly pitched as a two-parter but the networks refused it, and I think a lot of the uncharacteristically bad writing that happens here goes back to that: they had an idea which was probably good, and when they didn't get to do it, they decided to stitch it together with what they could fit in rather than scrap it and begin from scratch like they probably should have.

It was underwhelming for being the 100th episode and generally poorly written, but that's the extent of its crimes. I just can't hate an episode that has my darling Bob Roth and gave us in canon what S5 decided was insignificant to its heroine's character arc: Marinette having to grapple with the differences between Cat Noir and the boy she fell in love with.

The Classic Era Grue Crew go B-I-G for this episode! Yes, it’s time for some Bert I. Gordon! For the Decades of Horror’s fourth excursion into BIG territory, the crew crawls all over Earth vs. the Spider (1958), also known as The Spider. Gordon uses his usual visual effects techniques to achieve the “50 tons of creeping black horror” as advertised, and, as usual, scales may vary. Gordon gets an assist from Paul Blaisdell with a hairy spider leg and a desiccated body. Throw in a fearless high school girl and her dumb boyfriend, their 35-year-old classmate, their science teacher, a goofy sheriff, and a brawny construction foreman, and viewers get exactly what they expect in a B.I.G. extravaganza. What a fun talkabout!

Is there at least any other ML character that you hate more than Adrien?

I’ve mentioned it before but I hate the villains. I hate Gabriel because he is genuinely a shitty person and abuses his son. I hate Chloe, though less than Gabriel, because of how she was treated unfairly by the story, but I’ve always hated her existence because the bully/mean girl archetype is just so cringe and overdone. Lila’s up there too but I don’t care for her much, she only makes me angry because she is written to be evil. Chloe’s mum I guess? She genuinely sucks and is awful.

Last time I talked about my least favourite characters in ML I also mentioned Bob Roth who’s a total dick, and Chloe’s dad too lmfao.

Tbh given what we've seen from Canon I do wonder if Amelie was in on the Sentikids thing at all in the first place.

Like clearly at some point she knew because she's aware by the present time, but Felix's play only shows the discussion and deal between Gabriel and /Colt/. I'd be down to believe that Gabriel gave Colt the Peacock to use and impregnate Amelie with a Sentimonster without telling her what he was doing. This is /slightly/ less dubious when you consider that Colt and Amelie were trying to conceive a child anyway so she probably would've said yes, but still.

It's not hard to imagine that Colt didn't tell her in the first place. Possibly only telling her when he got sick, or maybe even he didn't tell her but only told Felix as a 'this is your fault I"m abusing you' dick move and then once Colt died Felix came clean about the whole thing.

Was Chloé kind of a dick for taking over production? Yeah. But the adults in charge said she was allowed to do it so she's not in the wrong on that level. And it's equally if not more a dick move for the class to take the money and run. They're only 'in the clear' because they happened to make profit for Bob Roth so he didn't care afterward.
