I’m trying to start a collection of every xenofiction book from a cats POV that I can find!! this is my criteria list:
older middle-grade and up fiction stories (maybe some exceptions for children's books if I really like them)
Mostly or only cat POV, not stories about people with cat sidekicks
about actual cats, not a human that shapeshifts into a cat, nor cat-like two-legged humanoids
Focusing on domestic cats and maybe small wild cats, not big cats
It doesn’t have to be a traditionally published book, but it does have to be something completed that I can buy a copy of
Graphic novels count!
These are the ones I know so far, please let me know if you have any more that I can add! (not listing every book’s sequels, series are presumed to be lumped together)
(also note: I have not read most of these books yet, so I can’t say what kind of graphic/sensitive content they may or may not have. I'm just trying to make as complete a list as I can for personal reference)
Warrior Cats (obviously, this one is a free space)
Varjak Paw -- S.F Said
Tailchaser’s Song -- Tad Williams
The Wild Road -- Gabriel King
Catwings -- Ursula K. Le Guin
Stray -- A.N Wilson
The Book of Night with Moon -- Diane Duane
The Wildings -- Nilanjana Roy
The Tygrine Cat -- Inbali Iserles
The Amazing Maurice and His Educated Rodents -- Terry Pratchett
The Familiars -- Adam Jay Epstein
In the Long Dark -- Brian Carter
Felidae -- Akif Pirinçci. Unfortunately! but I don’t want to talk about him and no one should buy his work. just adding so people know i’m aware of this book already
The Cats of Roxville Station -- Jean Craighead George
The Traveling Cat Chronicles -- Hiro Arikawa
Blitzcat -- Robert Westall
Cat House -- Michael Peak
Cats in the City of Plague -- A.L Marlow
Guardian Cats and the Lost Books of Alexandria -- Rahma Krambo
Cat on the Edge -- Shirley Rousseau Murphy
I Am a Cat -- Natsume Sōseki
The Alchemist’s Cat -- Robin Jarvis
The Stink Files -- Jennifer L. Holm & Jonathan Hamel
I, Scheherazade: Memoirs of a Siamese Cat -- Douglass Parkhirst
The Mouse Butcher -- Dick King-Smith
Heroes Rising: Book One of Catmage: Genesis -- Meryl Yourish

HI I think I sent an ask a while back about having recently found TaTA and a) if it came off as trying to rush/guilt you. I am so sorry because that was NOT my intent, and b) I can hugely guarantee you have at least one person who will eat up any return, no matter when it happens, because I care about the guys so much 🥺 really looking forward to whatever comes next!!
Oh, I appreciate this a lot thank you!
Tbh it's a stress I would have regardless of anyone asking me about it, I'm probably the biggest one rushing and guilting myself on it. Which might contribute to some of the burnout I had...
My complaints are more about people who are demanding "more content daddy" or asking me if I'm dead or asking on every single post I make where it is... Wondering when it's coming back is completely reasonable, it's been a long time! but there's definitely a line haha
my editor also keeps randomly scheduling me and then saying "oh, btw you're scheduled to return in 3 weeks. Is that alright?" And I have to keep saying no, that's not alright??? And then dealing with that process...
I could write an essay about all the reasons it's not back yet, but that doesn't help me feel any less pressured, and it doesn't help you all get the rest of the comic any faster...
As of right now I'm scheduled to and trying to return october 21. No official announcement yet cause I have to do a lot of work in that time, but it's my official goal at least. When we get closer I'll be able to say for sure whether it's coming back on that date!

therapy question ?
Ok real question guys. I know revenge is bad.
I know hurting them back isn't going to make me hurt less. And yet, sometimes my pain and anger grow so big that I do want to hurt them back, that I just wish I could do anything to turn their life into a living hell. I won't do it. It's just not who I want to be, and like I said I know it isn't going to help me in my healing process.
What are helpful thoughts you use/suggest to tackle the thoughts/feelings that come up about wanting revenge?

I WAS ONLY ABLE TO FIND OUT NOW THAT MY FAVORITE GHOST HUNTER FOUND FAMILY BOOK SERIES JUST GOT ADAPTED?? It was utter perfection. It felt like I was reading the books. The utter domesticity. George was adorable. Locklyle was perfect. The casual hand holding and forehead touches and cradling of faces. It manages to be heartbreaking at times how much they have such married couple energy not because of how they bicker but because the world they’re in has aged them prematurely and it’s like they’ve already had their silver years and golden years together. Him just casually buttering her toast for her?? Tenderly treating her wound?? He was outright looking at her lips in that scene! We always knew he was do-or-die for Lucy but seeing this series outside of Lucy’s POV makes it adorably apparent how besotted with her he is, and that struggle of wanting to let her in clashing with his suicidal tendencies was portrayed with so much angst. Netflix may have its problems, but it has also brought my favorite YA novels wonderful adaptations. I already got Six of Crows and Lockwood & Co., so here’s to hoping for A Darker Shade of Magic too. To add, as long as I’m wishing, I’m hoping The Raven Cycle gets one too.

So this headcanon I'm about to ramble a bit about is both about body image feelings, and minor spoilers abt some Psychonauts 2 Art Book concept art, #PN2 art book spoilers #spoilers yknow
so with that out of the way
Helmut's got some old concept art where his mental world outfit had a lot more of a classic viking inspo, and a few where he's got his shirt off have Mental World Abs added on and it comes across like how he'd wanna be shown off
and it has me thinking about how Helmut might have thought about himself and being fat... and I personally can relate to that feeling of like being really happy with and good with how my fat body looks but every so often thinking about how it could be different.
I like the vibe of confident showman Helmut once in a blue moon looking in the mirror while changing into his stage clothes thinking about like getting Muscles and Toning his Body bc he feels like that'd look nicer
but he gets reminded that he's already really strong (he can lift stage equipment like no problem even without telekinesis) and he doesn't need like a chiseled six pack for that. he's good. he looks and feels great already and can pull off any outfit bc of his natural charisma
AND. of course. bob loves his tummy very much, added bonus

ATTENTION BOOK AND UNION LOVERS!!!!
Powell's Books workers in Portland Oregon will be going on strike. Powell's prides itself on being the largest "independent" book store in the US and being "like a family".
For the entire YEAR the Powell's corporation has refused to meet Union needs and denied every contract proposal. For about 6 months Powell's Workers have been working without a contract because of this. There have been several COVID confirmed cases at Powell's Burnside location as well and there is NO COVID relief pay or PTO for exposure or close contact.
I personally know several workers who have been treated horribly for months if not YEARS by the corporation. They do not care about their workers.
Thank you @howdydowdy for the transcript (yes they have been working without a contract since June)
