I totally didn't just watch all four seasons of Boss Baby: Back in Business on Netflix all of last week because I got hooked and genuinely invested in this incredibly unhinged and (surprisingly) funny show with a heck ton of really good plot twists even though I'm too old to be watching a show rated TV-Y7.

Copied from an ask (In tandem with the Uncle Grandpa poll):
No wait, Bootsy Calico is more my type
Bootsy Calico from The Boss Baby: Back in Business (2018-2021)
Cat person. Cat-person? Loves cats. Is cat? Antagonist(?) owns many monitors. Secretly Ozymandias from Watchmen(?) Dresses sensibly but comfy. The mildest bit of personal flair but its presence is noteworthy

yet another reprise of the same post i’ve made dozens and dozens of times before but GEEZ! i am so incredibly lucky to be doing what i’m doing! to think i spend hours and hours and days and weeks and months and years and hopefully DECADES pouring over animation history, lauding the masters and studying their work so intently and absorbing it and feeling and identifying with it, and the fact that i get to walk the same turf they did. that i get to be a part of this business that they established. that i get to carry the torch and that, some day, no matter how small or insignificant, my own work and contributions will be regarded as “animation history” because i work in animation and all history is history. i just can’t believe that i’m privileged enough to indulge in some of the same practices that The Greats did, that i get to study their work and, if i’m so lucky, channel and make homages to it where possible.
this isn’t to say “i’m just like Tex Avery because i work in animation TOO!!!!”, but, rather, an expression of my sheer GRATITUDE and amazement that i get to do what i do at all. i’ve met so many nice people. blossomed so much as an artist and cartoonist. get inspired each day by the talent i am constantly surrounded by. and to think that i get to be a part of it!!!!! that i get to carry the torch! i know this sounds so conceited and pompous and i really don’t mean it that way at all because i don’t WANT to be known as someone who people are only interested in because i work in cartoons. i just wanna be known for me! what “me” is i guess is for you to decide! but, regardless, i’m just feeling extra thankful tonight that i’m able to indulge in my passions and SPREAD my passions and have said passions fostered. that i’m lucky enough to tread the same ground as some of the greatest creatives that gave me this ground to tread on. there will never be enough words to properly articulate just how deeply and passionately my gratitude extends.

Autistic Tim Templeton Headcanons!
he was diagnosed around age 10
his autism is one of the reasons why he feels so different from his brother, and why they both went down two very different life paths.
he DISPISES the textures of certain foods, like bananas or peas. they’re just mushy and gross!
he doesn’t like carbonated beverages. the bubbles feel weird and they kinda hurt his stomach.
he neuro narrates a lot! whether its through his imagination, daydreaming, or playing with his kids!
he’s had multiple special interests since childhood, like wizards, music, and board games.
he doesn’t always get jokes or sarcasm. sometimes Carol will make an off handed sarcastic comment and it’ll hurt Tim’s feelings, and she’s had to learn to clarify whenever she was joking in the future.
he does NOT like loud noises. at all. whether its a dog randomly barking, a firework going off, or thunder– it causes him to become extremely overstimulated and anxious.
Tim experiences episodes of being minimally verbal when overstimulated. it’s hard for him to communicate how he’s truly feeling, or what he really needs.
Tim likes being able to write because it helps him pre-plan certain situations and script out what it would be like in reality. it helps with being minimally verbal on occasion.
Tim loves his routine, and having kids was actually really helpful with that. before the kids, it was easier for things to pop up and interrupt the routine he and Carol had set up in their lives. after the kids, people were more understanding.
he fidgets and stims, a lot. whether its bouncing his leg, rocking in his chair, or picking at his fingers, chewing at his nails – he’s constantly moving.
he hates when people touch his things or rearrange them. he puts them in a very specific order and he doesn’t like it when that order is changed or switched around!
he’s SUPER clumsy. he always bumps into things or knocks over a vase of flowers that Carol had JUST put on the table. he constantly bruises himself because of this, too.
both Tim and Carol are obviously huge advocates in regards to mental health. they educate others on autism and hold little events at the library. he’s not as awkward interacting with people he knows and trusts, but he kinda shuts down when talking to a complete stranger. its just hard to connect the same way.

now that i'm actually getting into boss baby, i need to know why it got so much hate in the first place. i keep hearing "it's a conservative show/movie"— what does that mean? are the boss baby execs bad people? is boss baby media pushing some kind of pro-conservatism agenda? i tried doing my own research but none of it is making sense. i just can't understand why so many people hated (and still hate) this silly little franchise about a business baby learning (then unlearning and re-learning) family values.
