finished my soul hackers 2 replay yyayyy. i bought the story dlc and i liked the sidequests, the superboss was kinda disappointing though, not for gameplay, they were incredibly difficult, but like. i expected at least a little lore or nana involvement in the end and there was neither which was sort of odd.

My OC Backstory Part 1: (fare warning I wrote this in my notes and I’m not a writer)

On the surface Naomi may look like a typical beautiful Succubus bounty hunter/assassin/bodyguard, but there is a WHOLE LOT MORE than meets the eye, born in 1799 (personal headcanon that Succubi stop aging once they absorb enough sexual energy) Naomi was born to a beautiful succubus named Brianna and a mysterious woman named Kali. Kali was no demon, she was the daughter of Shiva The Destroyer, one of the Trimurti, the three most powerful beings in the universe, beyond even the most powerful of angels. neither angel or demon, for it is said they each represent an aspect or a fraction of The One, The Om, The Atman, The Absolute… God, ever since the fall of Lucifer & Man they have been to trying to keep balance, but it’s getting tough, but over 1,225 years ago Heaven starting to fear Hells growing numbers of Hellborn & Sinners and suggested action must be taken, Adam suggested a yearly extermination on the sinners and would scare the Hellborn into submission, this disgusted both the Trimurti and the Heavenly Buddhas (enlightened mortals in life who felt/experienced cosmic consciousness, and managed to ascend to a heavenly form slightly more powerful than the seraphim themselves, four of them including Jesus, Buddha, Moses, & Muhammad) The Trimurti suggest a a more humane way to show that Heaven should have nothing to fear, Shiva had a daughter, a great, wise, yet powerful warrior he birthed from his own shadow, she respected as she was feared, her name was Kali, Shiva suggested that they would send Kali down to Hell to live amongst the Hellborn/Sinners and teach them to tame and control their dark nature, to show them a better way, Kali of course would do it,but she had her doubts, for thousands of years she has spent on Earth destroying and fighting the evils born in the hearts of men, and she feared that the demons wouldn’t be able to change their nature but her father, her uncles, and the Buddhas assured her that change is nature, and to have faith, so it was decided that She would be sent down amongst the demons and teach them The Eightfold Path, this enraged Adam who would prefer to just exterminate them and be done with, but Kali couldn’t give two shits, she never did like Adam, blaming him (along with Lucifer & Lilith) for the state of humanity and Earth, his hubris and pride drove Lilith away and into the arms of a jester who didn’t consider the consequences of his actions. so Kali took her leave and descended down to Naraka, where for the next 1,000 years she lived amongst them as a guru slowly but surely teaching the sinners & hellborn a better way to live, although she had many lovers, but eventually she meet a succubus named Brianna, the two of them married and had a child whom they named Naomi, who lived happily for 7 years but all that changed when she was 8.

The way Final Fantasy 14 explores the themes and lore of its deities and other bosses through the song lyrics in their boss music is very underrated tbh. It's one of the best aspects of the game to me, yet I don't see it praised as much as other things.

And there's such variety, too. Menphina's theme is an upbeat song that explores how the world's cat people find safety and comfort in worshipping the moon. Sophia's theme is a sad parable that shows how the goddess' idea of balance is harsh and inhumane. Lakshmi spends her song trying to seduce you into accepting her ideology of blissful sloth. Shiva mourns her own plight. Suzaku sings of lost love. Athena sings about how she is the shit and she's gonna kill you.

It's all just really great.

I said this on the other hellsite but the reason Cass fights with Lady Shiva are so memorable is because Shiva isn't just a prop, she serves the fucking narrative, she's not an obstacle, she's a legitimate challenge and is there to further Cassandra's journey as a character.

So yeah it's pretty insulting just to see her seemingly used as some big boss battle for Dinah in her new series and nothing beyond that.

As promised many months ago to end this day, here's a 🧵of the insanity Cassandra Cain's "human" body can do due to what David Cain put her through (besides the two obvious ones of body language and various forms of killing he trained her in).

The best issue that showcases that is of course Batgirl Vol. 1 #14 where various government agencies look at the footage Cass got caught filmed in.

The first few pages are literally showcasing how inhuman, but still bordering on human she is due to what David Cain put her through.

This is always fully covered throughout Batgirl Volume 1 and is usually forgotten when writers and editors tend to have their job. Not saying any names or storylines of any RECENT kind where a WAR broke out in GOTHAM.

We've seen Cass's speed all the time throughout the Puckett run. To just showcase the prior issue's bullet dodging or her issue of Tim (#18) be child's play (along with her taking several shots up close and dodging each one from a certain corrupt government bastard).

Nah the best example of Cass's true "speed" is in #34 facing the mob boss Ving and his gang.

Yeah, you're seeing that right she is faster than a freaking bullet. Surprising how SOME seem to forget that in other comics. 🙄

Something even Batgirls remembered (#15) when Cass was playing shogun dodge with Cluemaster who was trying to shoot her with a shotgun.

But what of Cassandra's strength? Just how strong is she really?

#19 where Cass is faced with the obstacle of three-inch quartz preventing her from escaping a gas chamber. So let's examine just how thick three-inch quartz is.

Well, let's google just that.

A SEVEN on the hardness scale. Further research says that it can only crack due to "extreme impacts" which wouldn't ya know:

As for her body itself, Batgirl/Ghost: The Ressurection Machine #3 suggests this about Cass being immune to A LOT of poisons:

Something Batgirl Vol. 1 "sort of" delves in #50 when both she and Bruce are doused with a new batch of super drug but it turns out they were both immune to it due to them being built differently than normal humans.

This is all the more surprising because a few issues prior to (#46) Cass is doused with a version of it, but you could say given what she "sees" Cass is under A LOT of stress (the building tension with Bruce, Babs breaking up with Dick, Superboy/Black Wind stuff). Plus she does "sort of" snap out of it to beat the bad guys in that issue.

Just like in #51 she avoids the pheromones to Poison Ivy even though she is showing signs of falling under the hormones but snaps out of it due to willpower (something Bruce was almost succumbing to before he fully snapped out of it too).

It really feels like "this anti-poison" ability Cass had was all but forgotten once the series ended. Of course, naturally with a certain "infamous" story ONE YEAR LATER, but also Batman & Robin Eternal as she is affected by Fear Toxin (among other stuff too).

#9 & #59 showcase that David Cain shot Cass regularly so much that she can not even feel it. This could explain also HOW she was eventually able to dodge bullets and become so fast.

#22 also showcases this as well so this is not something simply just randomly put in. This was something the writers wanted to show the sickening lengths David Cain put Cass through.

Again, #14 brought up Cass's metabolism and how off the charts it was. I think something we just overlooked is that in #26 Cass slept for 20 hours a day for four days (or perhaps longer) straight until she fully recovered from fighting Lady Shiva.

That's not even going under the amount of food she consumes. This little detail was first showcased in #39 when Cass ate like she was freaking Goku.

This little bit of detail was brought back in #66 when she ordered THREE burgers (I'm assuming with everything on it) with three sides of fries and a BIG milk.

Amusingly, this detail was recently brought back in Nightwing #106 & #108 where she FEASTED on who knows how many pancakes.

Lastly, I feel this bit is worth mentioning as well from #47 with Doctor Lewis Friedman who started the theory on body language that David Cain made a frightening reality with Cass (shame he was never brought up again after this issue).

All this isn't even counting on the extremely LONG hours of shower time Cass picked up in the Gabrych run that even Willingham's Robin (which went on during this) teased (something again Batgirls kept up on).

So there you have it. The utter anomaly that is the body of one Cassandra Cain.

There is something so fucking heartbreaking about Cass in Batgirl (2000) and i think its the way that she can forgive murderers and killers she can and will attempt to save a man from death row just because she believes they could of changed . She values human life to an absurd degree and in her perception every person matters and deserves to live . Every person except Herself .

She has a death wish constantly puts herself in danger risks her life fighting Shiva and very explicitly in the text wants to die and for what . . Because she killed a man at age 8 . After being horrendously abused and trained for murder by her father.Cass who loves and cherishes absolutely every one no matter what .Cass who saves Lady Shiva - Who has killed hundreds. She won’t kill Lady Shiva who chose to kill . But she wont forgive herself She who had no choice who killed a fatcat mob boss who largely probably brought no good to the world.

And she still wants to die because she doesn’t believe she is a good person.

Its a testament to her complete adoration and worship of life and her nauseating abuse at David Cain hand’s.

Because even after everything she still doesn’t truly believe her father a bad man for putting her through all that nightmarish abuse . She strictly views him as bad because he forced her to kill . It wasn’t her fault AND SHE KNOWS THAT.

But she still doesn’t forgive herself even if she can forgive anyone else on the planet. She still wishes for death.

He's concerned for you, but according to the manual guide on, "How to Fully Support Your Partner" , by the valkyries, he's supposed to just calm you down, and agree with what you have to say.

No matter how wrong it is.

He's awfully entertained.

Don't get him wrong. He feels awful for what you're going through. But honestly, he finds it hard not to laugh.

How is it possible that someone, or some people have made you so angry, that you turn out like this?

Feminine rage era you say? Well, this one is for the books. Don't worry he'll listen to what you have to complain about, but he isn't letting this down any time soon...
