If you live a life where any One Thing is your primary form of happiness/joy/entertainment/relaxation/etc you will be dependent on that One Thing. Because you need happiness/relatation/joy/etc!!!! The solution is not to cut yourself off from happiness, it is to find more options! The problem is not that One Thing but the way your life has become structured in a way where that One Thing is the only consistent form of happiness and you may lack the access/ability to find other options.
