Veden-Alethi willshaper!!!
Her story or smth
(& image ID)
I dont have a name for either of them yet (as such ocs go) but i do know that shes Hetrochromic, and she used to yk do what most illegitimate children with Hetrochromia would do; carry out murder and unsavory acts for their lighteyed parent. She was sent to “smooth out” the details with a slaver; he was being a general asshole & not paying a loan he took from her father. After like a whole hour of him being a dick and refusing to pay she just got so mad she killed the dude (he deserved it but she. Lowkey overreacted)
Anyways it wasn’t rlly a good look for her because the slaver was lighteyed. Shes sold into slavery (debated giving her a Shash glyph but idk) because like you can’t just shrug off a murder but you can’t kill an important merchants daughter.
She spents a few years in slavery, finding crude objects to chop her hair off with and thats why her hair looks godawful. She meets her spren sometime near the end and she progresses to the second ideal before running away, specifically to Liafor. She. Loves Liafor.
[Image ID: a bust drawing of a young woman, looking off into the distance next to her spren, a glowing streak of light. Her dark red hair is cut short, peppered by dark brown. Her forehead and left eye is covered by slightly aged bandages, her skin tan and heavily freckled. She’s dressed in what appears to be the beginning of a purple havah. END ID.]

it honestly frustrates me when i see people reduce the ericsons cast down to "just some teens in the woods" acting like theyre no different than any other group of lone teenagers from other existing properties and treating them like an overused trope
it is sooo important to acknowledge the "troubled youth" aspect of the whole equation. theyre not just some random teens in the woods clem stumbles across. these kids were abandoned by their families for their various "difficulties" and fucked up by The System before the outbreak even began. and then once zombies started roaming the streets their familes never came back for them and the adults that were in charge of taking care of them just left them there to rot in that old boarding school (except for ms martin who was like their lee 🥺 the only person who ever saw them as the scared traumatized kids they were and died protecting them)
the whole aspect of them already being fucked up by the adults that controlled their lives is like.....kind of important when discussing the whole "delta is stealing kids to force them to fight in a war they have no real part in and want nothing to do with" aspect of the season. and its important when comparing them to clem and her journey of also suffering at the hands of the adults around her forcing her to become self reliant. AND its important when discussing the "just trying to build a safe home (and future) worth fighting for in this world that wants them dead" aspect of the season as well
these kids were forced to come together to survive. and a Lot of them didnt... theyre the only family they have left and you can tell that even when they argue with each other theyre still a close knit group who looks out for each other. theyre a Real family before clem even gets there (and its why what really happened with the twins and brody and marlon hits them all so especially hard)
all of this is what REALLY makes ericsons such a perfect home for clem. its a Real community of her True peers. theyre not Just teens. they mightve had a layer of safety clem never had by at least having walls to keep them safe. and having the benefit of the school being hard to find. its the only reason theyre still alive when clem shows up. but theyre also some of the only people who can Truly understand where clem and aj are coming from. and its why it hurts so much when they vote to kick them out. but its also partially why she merges back into the fold so easily when she returns. plus the fact that shes Really the only one who has any idea what shes doing. shes their rock and she makes them feel safe because underneath it all theyre still just those scared traumatized kids ("EVERYONE is scared, clem..." vi was Definitely including herself in that 'everyone'), and on some level, so is clem
they saved clementines life. and she saved theirs. "the school was supposed to help them with their trauma, now they help each other" its about the LOVE the COMMUNITY the SUPPORT!!!! and thats the shit that makes good zombie media honestly 👌
#it speaks#twdg#there i go again writing another essay but i will Always defend the ericson cast theyre one of the strongest out of all 4 seasons#complaints ive seen about s4 typically include mentions of the teens as a trope being overused and im like.......did you even pay attention#the fact they were branded “troubled youth” and basically thrown away by everyone who was supposed to take care of them is SO IMPORTANT#these kids are Fucked Up but theyre Trying to make a kinder world#nobody talk to me i fucking love the ericson cast 😭😭😭 theres not a single one of them i dont like im serious#them using poor pilgrim of sorrow in ep3....ericsons is heaven to clem 😭 all the comments she can make about feeling safe there 😭😭#clem being everyones rock but violet being clems rock back 🥺😭💕 waaaaahhh thats why it was over for me when vi stood up for them in ep 2#vi having the courage to stand up to her group for aj........... yeah she had me in a vice grip after that. she fought for them so hard#and if it wasnt for her advocating so hard for them to stay they ALL would have been taken or killed#vi cared about clem so much she undoomed them all#and aj loved clem so much he undoomed her :')#s4 is just the perfect ending to clems story truly itll make me happy for the rest of my life im so happy for u clem 🥺#tfw the media you like gets a good ending and the main characters are respected and it feels like it was made from a place of love#instead of being like...actively hostile to its fanbase and destroying its own characters for the Laughs#and when i say “good” i dont necessarily mean “happy” i just mean “competently written"#i wouldnt call it perfect but it survived both a cancellation AND the financial collapse of a major game studio. its perfect to Me#for what it is (and what it originally almost was with the clems house plot) we truly lucked out so fucking hard#truly a return to form of season 1 but with less despair and more hope which i appreciate :')#all the things ive liked over the years that were destroyed for me by bad or weird writing decisions... clutches onto twdg like a lifeboat#god i love s4 so much nothing has ever been More Specifically Written For Me Personally

Child advocate lawyer Miles Edgeworth. He's this big scary looking guy who Immediately folds under the slightest bit of pressure from a child. (Your honor he said he wouldn't testify without the camera. I told him it was illegal. He restated his terms. So he gets the camera in court. Very well then Prosecutor Edgeworth.) But they call him a demon for a reason. He met Jessie 8 minutes ago and if ANYONE was mean to her he would kill everyone in the room and then injure himself trying to make her smile.
His office is pink. It is full of children's toys and he Has actually seen every episode of them yes i would love to discuss it's merits right now do you have three hours? These two facts mean children either 1. Flock to him or 2. Have something easy to bully him about. Which he takes in stride from children. (But rip to the adult who tried to join in) See: Ema.
He knows first hand the Terror of being on the stand. Of being Alone on the stand while your world collapses around you. But he's there. They are Never alone while he's there with them. He is calm, eloquent and the most powerful person in the courtroom for sure! And still he walks the stairs because "my father died in an elevator. So im scared of them. It's okay to be scared of things. We can always take the stairs."
He's a pathetic mess. More than once a child has been brought to him early in the morning and asked if they've brushed their teeth yet. "Because if not I still need to. I have some spares if you'd like one. Even some steel samurai ones." He is still not nice to the detectives. Some children scold him (which he accepts) and some laugh. (which he wears as a badge of pride for the rest of the week.)
He is on the emergency housing list for kids taken in after incidents. It's just supposed to be for a night but a few times it became extended stays. He was pulled off the case for one of the girls because "Prosecutor Edgeworth i think you'd make a more valuable witness than prosecutor don't you?" The word around the courthouse was Edgeworth nearly killed the defendant so the judge pulled the demon out.
Child advocate lawyer Miles Edgeworth.

I've called Yun the cooler Jason Todd many times before but honestly this is an inaccurate comparison because if he was truly to get the Jason Todd treatment there'd be way more porn of him and Father Glowworm...

the actual wild thing that happened today was not only were a group of customers from the same area of colorado I’m from when I mentioned the specific tiny town I lived in they were like “oh yeah my cousin’s family is at the church there” and it was the pastor’s family that told the rest of the church to shun my family and stop talking to us during the time we were going through nonstop mental health and financial crises and my mom had left us for her new job in another state after her business failed and my parents were on the verge of getting a divorce and everyone was suicidal and then we lost our house to foreclosure 🫠 I was like “haha wow what a small world!😃” not gonna tell them about all the trauma their relatives contributed to god bless<3

y'all have got to stop with the fear mongering around tampons and judging those who use them. getting "terribly sick" from tampons is rare and oftentimes occurs when you misuse them. there's no need to act as if those who use tampons are somehow scary, dirty or unsafe. remember that not too long ago a lot of people believed that tampons would "take your virginity." many people STILL believe that. tampons are already seen as shameful by many. there's no need to add to that in any way.
use whatever period product is best for you. pads aren't dirty, tampons aren't inherently dangerous. fear mongering and shaming menstrual products for no good reason is wrapped in misogyny in many ways. take care of and respect your body, and don't judge others for doing that same thing in a different way.

i know very little abt the stanley cup discourse so maybe im wrong but all the posts i keep seeing about it seem to just be making fun of people/calling them sad for liking to collect stanley cups and tbh i think you guys are being mean for no reason lol
#kat chats#like none of the discourse posts seem to be about like. idk stanley cup business practices or manufacturing#like the discourse posts abt apple for example that point out how they are destroying congo#like the posts telling ppl not to buy the newest iphone center that#but literally all i've seen is just people being like omg it's SO sad that these white people are staking out a target for a cup release#and like. i guess if you wanted to bring up that it's a starbucks collab an starbucks is a morally bankrupt company--#--currently facing a grassroots consumer boycott and buying starbucks branded items to show off is advertising for them#like SURE again i think if the discourse was about this and was centering how starbucks is anti-union & targets pro-ceasefire workers#then yeah i'd be on board#but for real every post i see about it is just 'what if we were mean over a vaguely harmless thing bc its a white person thing'#and idk man. there are worse constructions of whiteness than liking these stupid looking stanley cups#it's the same with the live laugh love shit like LISTEN. is it vapid and ugly? yes#but people are allowed to like vapid and ugly things that's not a crime#and as i grow older i find myself liking less and less this bullying works mentality.#like what if we put our energy towards things that mattered. like protecting palestinians and advocating for an end to occupation#u know?#anyways. sorry again if somehow stanley cups are a racist dogwhistle#but insofar as i know their only sin is that they're fucking ugly

people seem so unimpressed with jo koy's joke about there being more shots of taylor swift at nfl games, but it's like. as much as the joke was about taylor swift, i think it does acknowledge that it's the nfl choosing to put her on those screens, through no fault of her own. it's not really making fun of swift so much as it is poking fun about how everyone has been making a big hullabaloo re: her new relationship, but jo koy's getting so much flack for it and it doesn't seem fair. it's just a joke, and she has legions of fans. she's fine. she doesn't need people to stick up for her, and the joke didn't even attack her as a person. if you're mad about jo koy's joke, please calm down.
