Luke Summerhayes - OmniBank

I’m a big fan of creating little fake projects for myself, and Luke here has done just that by creating a fake Neo-bank identity. Love the colour palette on this using dark purple as the main, complimented by lilac and mint green. The icon works well to attract a feel of international, alongside the modern san serif font to give it that corporate stamp. 

Luke is a designer who specialises in brand identity, UI/UX and web design, and I really could’ve shown any project to focus on as this was close to his Huevos Cafe work. Love his work and the modern style he creates.

We've all seen the fics where the Rogues return and immediately assume that Peter is Tony's son, leading to a "prank" where Tony and Peter "act" like father and son (they soon realize they barely have to act, cue feelings)

Now, a fic that is a twist on that old favorite.

The Rogues return, and they quickly figure out that Peter is not Tony's biological son, that he started as an intern and as Spider-Man but the two have grown closer since then. The Rogues assume that Tony has never told Peter how much he cares about him. They believe Tony is too emotionally constipated, and that Peter must still think he is "just an intern"

However, in assessing the situation, the Rogues have failed to account for some pretty vital facts: 1) the amount of time that has actually passed, and 2) the fact that Tony Stark would do just about anything, even face and overcome his childhood programming, for Peter Parker

Peter and Tony have known each other for two years now. They have already had all the emotional conversations. Peter sees Tony as a father, and Tony sees Peter as a son, and the whole Ironfam knows it. No one is in the dark about what's going on.

...except the Rogues.

When Peter and Tony realize that the Rogues immediately assumed Tony is emotionally incapable, they decide to prank them by seeing just how long they will keep believing that

Around the Rogues, Peter calls Tony "Mr. Stark," and Tony pretends to be a stone cold bitch (even while "subtly" remaining a helicopter parent). Back on their own floor of the tower, Peter switches easily between "Tony" and "Dad," they have movie nights where they fall asleep on the couch together, and dinners with Pepper, May, Rhodey, and Happy.

The Rogues decide they need to help Tony and Peter realize their feelings. This goes on for a long time.

Then, one day, Peter gets hurt. Bad. Maybe he gets hurt as Spider-Man, maybe it's a kidnapping or hostage situation. One way or another, he ends up calling out for his dad.

The Rogues all hold their breath, expecting Tony to be stunned, to freak out and go hide in his lab. But Tony doesn't even blink. He comforts Peter, holds onto him, promises that he's safe

Finally, it becomes clear that the Rogues... might have misjudged the situation. Just a bit.

Deacon willing to help people but doesn't recognize people so he doesn't remember what he did for who. So he just agrees and is like cool don't mention it then they mention it and he's like uhhhhhh.

However, that's other humans. He can identify the deities much easier because they have a unique glow. Like can actively tell Ymber "oh Lady Fulj just entered the city" and Ymber is like how the heck did you sense her that far away when I can't sense her that far away. It actually takes a while for Ymber to realize Deacon really doesn't know any of his coworkers and who he's talking to.

sorry for the unsolicited suggestions, i've struggled with bad skin issues myself so i was curious: does wax-coating the area do anything for you? i keep a few clean chapsticks for when my hands get really bad and it helps keep it from getting worse as long as i use a mild or unflavored one.

That sounds like a good tip for people who can stand it! Sensory problems are a big limiting factor in what I can try re; skin management, and I can't stand chapstick. I haven't tried it on my hands, though, so maybe it'll be more tolerable than on my lips. I might give it a try if I can find something that looks good. Generally I know the thicker the substance the more effective it tends to be for retaining moisture, but if it's too thick it is Hell and it will activate the skin picking response.

Right now Toplan's baby moisturizing cream has been doing wonders for everything except for my hands! Even with my hands it tends to help a lot in managing the dry stage of the dyshidrotic eczema Cycle, but it can't do fuck all about the fluid buildup stage which is the part that Gets You.

This thing awesome it successfully skirts the line between not being so thick that it causes sensory problems or leaves residue everywhere and being too thin to be worth a damn. I do have to reapply it relatively more frequently but I think that's somewhat unavoidable when it's hands. It also doesn't have an annoying scent added to it; there's still a gentle aroma to it but it's not a Scent Scent if you know what I mean.

Honestly most of my shit other than The Hands are fairly well managed these days thanks to this thing, but main problems unique to The Hands are

because it is hands, I use them, and so I touch a lot of things and whatever I use rubs off quicker than other places

because it is hands, I wash them. I reapply lotion a lot, of course, but it's still an irritating factor that I can't really avoid much

the type of eczema just fundamentally behaves differently from what I'm used to having to deal with elsewhere, with the main trigger being the simple unavoidable fact that it is summer (REST IN PIECES)

it's actually so fascinating to me that Brennan has created a character that maintains a pretty relaxed and mild-mannered demeanor and has said multiple times that the absolute Core of her is "FEAR" and how often we see this Fear manifest specifically in Avoidance; it really nails a relationship to that mentality where your brain fully Stops recognizing the emotion properly out of like, sheer self-defense from the stress of having to carry it all the time

I think this is also perfectly showcased in the way we tend to see Tula swing so suddenly from 'level and steady' to 'snarling Panic' and then back again - Just because your brain has detached itself from the Conscious Recognition of the emotion doesn't mean it can Actually stop itself from experiencing it. So the Fear is always there and always acting as a stressor, but because of that inability to Identify it there's no way to recognize or address it before that final straw hits and your bodymind jumps Straight into Full Meltdown Mode; but then once again, once you drop even a Little bit below that Peak Terror your brain ceases to process the emotion; it's like the most exhausting form of Poor Object Permanence in the world

And even if Tula is aware of this happening to her, that doesn't really make it any easier to deal with / address. Even if you're able to spot the symptoms Around the emotion -- chest pain, irritation, nausea, whatever -- because the Emotion Itself is basically impossible to find, you can't really Successfully Pin Down what the problem is OR a way to cope with it. If you can't figure out That You Are Anxious, then figuring out What Is Making You Anxious is impossible, which makes Find A Way To Make Peace With That incomprehensible. That's where the Avoidance comes in: you can no longer identify what might be a Dangerous Situation, which means that Anything New has a big potential to be Really Bad in a variety of ways (ranging "I don't Feel Good" to "Fully Lashing Out bc you've entered Fight/Flight and can't get out of it" to "Actual Outside Danger This Time") and that means the Only Way you know how to be Safe is to just Avoid Doing Anything New and Only stick to Familiar Situations, because anything unfamiliar is a monster of a gamble you don't know how to prepare for or cope with
