Buisness card design (front -n- back)

Since my last business card had my dead name and a few outdated things, I've redesigned a new one complete with a QR code to my linktr.ee (for easy direction to all of my platforms.) Feedback welcome!

The Sleepy Kitten Cafe 🐱💤

Ill solidify an actual layout design later (since this will become a major setting for most of the fic) BUT for now you get a shitty collage design Edit- Fuck it I was gonna wait till post chapter 7 but I decided to publish now so here you go!

Info (may or may not become relevent in the fic, I just think is neat also for my own reference)

Located on The Narrows of Gotham city

All utensils and containers are thrifted so none of them match

Upstairs lounge is a mini library/book store

They sell baked goods and have a shitty service window where you can order diner style food/snacks

Regular game nights/other events (including jazz night which Tim vehelementaly refuses to attend)

Not uncommon for random strays to come hang out (no one tell their manager)

Have a photo wall of regular customers (it took several weeks of begging before Tim allowed Gwen to snap his pic and pin it up)

They have a whole buisness card holder on the counter people can advertise their shit

Owned by a former hippie from Washington and her husband from Sikkim

Almost gets robbed once a week but hey its Gotham, what can you do? (emphasis on almost)

Employees (named thus far, who I will also probably draw later)-

Gwen Parkins she/her- Main Barista Alans (Tims) BFF, utter sweetheart, but will cry if yelled at. Also plans like 80% of the work events. Wears clips in her hair that are "on theme" for whatever event is for the day (cat ones for work obvi) Never checks her bank account so doesnt notice Tim slipping in an extra 500-3k every month (tax free of course) and she ends up saving or donating half of it anyways. From the Narrows.

Zeek (Ezikel) Zoref he/they- Cook/Security Very open stoner, likes bullying his friends (kinda an asshole, but will apologize if too far), also loves Gotham for the fact he can and will fist fight customers given the oppertunity, and there are PLENTY of oppertunies. Carries around a bat. Almost became a Joker Goon out of nessesity but by sheer happenstance he tried robbing Alan who somehow got him an interview at the Cafe, even with zero experience. (Owes his life, but will never admit it) Allergic to mint and mourns mint gum everyday. From Crime Alley.

Obsidian Fowler they/them- Manager/Barista The reason shit gets done, newly recognized artist, meticiously does inventory because they find it fun. Gets stressed about hygine when his coworkers keep sneaking random strays in the cafe, but weak to begging. Did not give in when they brought in a Raccoon. Keeps offering Alan a job because "Please I cannot be the only competent member here" From Old Gotham.

okay so im currently in a ladybug/batman/justice league phase and every time marinette is kidnapped by the riddler shes like 'your suit is so awful' but i was thinking, as someone who does love the outfit, what if she did too?

so imagine marinette gets kidnapped by the riddler who plans on doing the usual riddler thing leading batman on a multi riddle scavenger hunt to find her and the moment she wakes up and she sees his suit she loves it?

hes standing there trying to explain to her the situation she's in but she's gushing about the embroidery of the question marks and the quality of the suit and somehow, her hands are free and her sketchbook is out (how did she do that? he was watching her the entire time one second hands tied, the next shes scribbling away)

she starts designing a new suit and hes so confused and just shocked by her reaction that he just starts answering her questions about his style and color choice on autopilot while he tries to figure out what is going on

shes somehow got the tape measure out and taken his measurments (she was literally chained to the chair, maybe her hands werent secured tightly enough, but the chains?? what is happening?)

just as hes starting to pull himself together shes showing off a whole page of alterations to his suit and a whole entire new one that, not gonna lie, he instantly wants on his body immediately

one thing leads to another, a few days later marinette is walking out of his base of her own free will and the riddler is admiering his new suit and the MDC buisness card she handed him before she left

(during this batman is losing his mind trying to figure out riddlers game since he was too busy getting a new outfit to actually send the rest of his riddles so the information batman got from the first riddle never led anywhere)

Do you do art as a school subject and what other subjects do you do in school?

If I recall correctly, you said before that you dislike doing art for academic reasons ( or reasons other than personal enjoyment) which made me wonder about this.

I dont do art in school; I never went nor wanted to go to art school, instead settling on technical school in electronics (graphic design and printing class). So my subjects are... well, graphic design (designing posters, buisness cards and other stuff), printing and all the post printing bullshit (both printing theory and practice on small scale) and 3d modeling. I actually learned i passed my first job qualification exam yesterday, so in theory i can work as a qualified graphic designer. Too bad i fucking hate this

Art is special to me, and the idea of making it my job is both the most realistic (its really the only thing i can do) and most depressing thing for me. My two dream career paths are museum worker and post-mortem cleaner (the guys who clean places after deaths) with small commissions and "merch" selling on the side... id love to go to university and get a degree in etnography or art history instead of digital art, but eeh. Worst case ill die

these are just silloute designs so i can give detail later, but basically they're all based off card decks n tried to follow symbolism. no names yet still picking

clubs is in charge of military/colonization, she uses a wand as a weapon and is noted to be hot headed, but the most humane diamond

spades is in charge of intelligence, they uses a sword. very cold towards others.

hearts is in charge of laws/gem wellfare, she uses a chalice as a weapon (idk, thinking about it) . seems like the nicest

diamonds is in charge of resources/production, uses panels to activate as blasts/weapons. buisness woman at heart

Tarot | Divination Tool

78 Tarots on a deck.

Divided into two sections [major arcana/mysteries] and [Minor arcana/mysteries] There are 22 Major Arcana cards, tend to deal with big life events and overarching themes, such as relationships, career and love.

There are 56 Minor Arcana cards. Divided into four. Suits. Wands, Pentacles [also called coins] cups, swords. With 14 cards in each. A King, Queen, Page respectfully, from ace-ten.

Major: The fool, the magician, high priestess/priest, empress/emperor. Hierophant, lovers, chariot, strength, hermit, wheel of fortune, justice, hanged man, death, temperance, the devil, The tower, The Star, The moon, The Sun, The Judgement, The World.

Minor: Wand, Pentacle, Cup, Sword. 14 cards each, going from ace to 10 then page, knight, king, queen. ____________________________________________________________

So Minor:

Suit of Cups – Element of Water – Emotions & Relationships

Suit of Pentacles – Element of Earth – Property & Achievement

Suit of Swords – Element of Air – Wisdom & Communication

Suit of Wands – Element of Fire – Passion & Inspiration

It’s important to consider these elements and areas when working with the minor arcana cards, making it much easier for an intuitive reading to happen (after a bit of practice of course)!

WANDS:

Suits of wands. Energy drive, willpower, creativity, power. 

Associated with the element of fire, the suit of wands represents passion, inspiration and creativity. The wands imbue their users with primal energy, for it is through them that the cycle of creation can begin. Because of their ability to bring energy into any situation, they are also associated with action, ambition and making plans. At their worst, they can refer to situations that are filled with recklessness and lack of direction. As you follow the journey within the wands, you'll come across these themes again and again.

CUPS:

Suit of Cups: Emotion, Feelings, Intuition, relationships.

The suit of cups rules over all that is associated with emotions, the unconscious, creativity, and intuition. They frequently talk about relationships, whether romantic or otherwise. And ones imagination and inner world. They are associated with the element of Water, Which becomes a frequent visual theme within this suit. At their worst, the cup's suit is fretted with uncontrolled feeling and fantasy and a disconnect with one's inner voice.

Swords:

Suit Of swords. Logic, Ideas, intellect, communication.

The sword is the suit of intelligence, logic, truth, ambition, conflict and communication. Its associated with the element of air, in readings. These cards focus on the faculty and power of the intellect, which like the swords themselves, are double-edged. This can used for both good and evil, to help and to har and our greatest conflicts usually come from this delicate balance, at their worst, the swords can be abusive, harsh and lack empathy.

PENTACLE/STARS:

Suit of Pentacles: Nature, Body, Material world, stability.

The Pentacles is the suit of all things worldly and material, though we will immediately think of the pentacles as relating to financial matters, we also can understand them as being associated with security, stability, nature, health, and prosperity.

 The Pentacles or Earth element. When we see pentacles show up in a reading they are usually concerned with your long term future, Career, generosity, your household, business investments and your feelings of sensuality. The negative side of the pentacles show up as greed, jealousy, miserliness and unbridled ambition at the cost of all else.
