WUKONG

• He's actually a really good cook. He rarely cooks for himself though, opting for snacks, fruit and takeout, but during his studies with Subodhi and during the journey he got really interested in the process. So sometimes he treats his monkeys with something tasty.

• /tw for alcoholism/ Wukong has an alcohol problem: he can't stop until he physically has to. Once he starts drinking for real he won't stop until he's passing out. It's an old habit of his, that started rather innocent, but with his growing self doubt it became a coping mechanism. But! He would never allow himself to drink or be drunk in front of MK.

/Additional hc, this habit started with Brotherhood, when Wukong (the smallest of the group) continuesly tried to outdrink others/

• Despite his strong dislike for himself bc of his mistakes, he absolutely loves being a demon monkey. And he's ecstatic that now he gets to teach MK demon monkey things.

MACAQUE

• /my personal favourite hc/ He's unreasonably scared of butterflies. When he was young he used to freak out to the point of literal panic attacks. In the present he just freezes with anxiety and wait for it to fly away. He himself can't rationalize his fear.

• He didn't grow up on FFM. His careful and forceful habits are the product of him fighting for his life from a very young age. He traveled a lot before he found FFM and decided to stay bc there are a lot of food and it's relatively safe. That's when he met Wukong

• Continuing the previous hc: he doesn't like fruit on FFM much. Most of his life he had to fight for his food, and it was way easier to find things like meat, vegetables and leaves, than actually tasty fruit, so the ones growing on FFM are just too sweet for him. He eats them as a treat, but he can't stomach the idea of fruit being his only food option.

• Wukong fell first, Macaque fell harder

• /cw for cheating?? possibly suggestive??? idk/ Both of them does not feel loyal to each other anymore, but Wukong is a jealous ass. Wukong likes to flirt around for attention, but he absolutely can't stand when Macaque gets ANY romantic attention from anyone. Macaque feels generally indifferent to romance, so he usually just ignores the flirting.

Unless Wukong is watching.

He likes to make his blood boil.

• They share moments of (nonsexual!) intimacy after an exhausting battles. They used to full on cuddle before the journey, but now it doesn't feel right. Now they just crash next to each other on the ground, silently listening for the other's heavy breathing, intertwining their tails in search for comfort. They lie until one of them is rested enough to get up and leave. They will never discuss these moments.

After he killed Mason, he got a pat on the back from Nisha. He always saw her as the biggest threat to his personal safety as Overboss, so having her support definitely helps him sleep at night.

SHAKIN DOWN DEM FARMERS. Basically, everyone and their mother just sends him tribute now as Overboss, so he swimmin in caps 😎

27. What faction(s) are they a member of / allied with?

RAIDERS. It's actually becoming an issue, because he sees the Institute as a threat, and his own gang isn't equipped to bust their way in there. He just got a vision from Mama Murphy that he should ask the Brotherhood for help, which is probs his only reasonable option. (He's HELLA paranoid of synths and would probably burn down the Railroad if he found it DISCLAIMER I DO NOT SHARE HIS VIEWS LOL and he already alienated the Minutemen soooo yeah…) He also really respects and trust Murphy the Madwoman, so he's probs gonna take that advice… at least until he gets what he wants.

28. What faction(s) do they despise?

Oops, I already answered this one lol. See above.

29. What is their moral alignment / karma?

Not pulling punches here: Zirk is evil. He lets fear and selfishness run his life, resulting in the suffering of others. He has a small handful of people he gives a shit about, but I don't think that redeems him. Almost all “good” things he does are still motivated by selfish intentions.

37. What is the worst injury they have experienced?

Zirk has been thru some shit. He didn't turn into the shitty little monster he is because his life was rainbows and sunshine. I would say, consistently ending up as the lowest rung on the social ladder in any group he was part of, and all of the abuses that entailed (for example, his teeth tattoos), were collectively his “worst injury”.

49. What item(s) do they always have on their person?

His glasses! Boy is blind as a bat (one of the things, along with his smaller/delicate stature, that made him a target for most of his life). Finding nice, VATS-connected spectacles when he was looting Vault 111 a couple years ago was a life-changer for him.

52. Can they swim?

Well enough… although it probs isn't too pretty to watch.

55. Are they past, present, or future oriented?

This is a cool question 🤔 I would say up until very recently, present-oriented, because he was constantly scrounging around for his next meal or hit. Recently, however, his gang has swept across the Commonwealth, and he's had to think further ahead so that he can feed his raiders and maintain his safety as top dog. This is not a task he enjoys doing, so he often leaves the minutiae to Gage 💕

59. Do they idolize anything / anyone?

Mama Murphy. She is the first person he's ever met who truly knows and sees him as he is, and she cares for him anyway. This is more important to him than he could ever say, but she doesn't need him to say it 💕

He's also IN LOVE with Gage (not that he'd ever use those words, even to himself), and he really respects and relies on him.

64. How / where do they generally sleep?

The how/where is actually a similar question for him!! He usually falls asleep wherever he can (bed, sleeping bag, large pile of soft dirt), but often around 2-3am, he tends toward night terrors, and often goes sleepwalking/crawling into the nearest small, enclosed space. He knows he does this, so he rarely ever goes to sleep nearby another person. Gage has only witnessed this a couple times, and while familiar with ptsd (raiders have tough lives and rough upbringings, I suspect), he still doesn't know exactly what to do when Zirk does this shit.

Some asked me why I hate the character Remus Lupin so much.

And people who have read my posts will think that probably it is related to my even more strong dislike for wolfstar. But surprisingly it is not at all related to that.

So, long story short is that I read a fic which was done so nicely that from there on me and remus were always on odds.

For those who want long story-

I was actually into time traveling fics a few years back. You know where hermione goes back in time and makes all things right.

This was one such fic. Where she is reborn as the twin sister of james Potter.

Now, one thing people should know about these fic is that here she is paired with prominent people we know from first war time.

More often it is not james, because of his epic love story with lily or the fact that her best friend will not be born if she is paired such. Others who are often paired with her are sirius, remus, Regulus and snape.

I was into sirius-hermione pairing and read all of them like drugs.

Now my expectations when reading such fics is that the romance take a little back seat and the drama related to war should provide more entertainment.

So mostly avoided fics where she travelled through 2-3 boyfriends to reach to her final guy. Sirius. But this story was exception.

I was reading one such fic in which this pairing was taged. Sirius and Hermione

In it sirius and remus both have feelings for hermione. And neither made a move because they knew about how the other felt and didn't want to come in the way of rthe other out of brotherhood.

We as reader are not told which one of them she has feelings for. Maybe both??????????????????The player witch😎.

Anyways. But this change when after the incident with snape in the shack, remus lets go of all his concern for his friend's feelings and makes a move to the girl.

All is well and good. And they slowly and steadily ease into the relationship. And things are in early stage.

This carries on for a few months where sirius is shown to be feeling remorseful for what he did to his friend. And is also a little heartbroken seeing the two together but he takes it like a champ and does not feel any ill will towards the new couple.

One day the marauders are planning some prank. During which remus starts taunting sirius because he still feeling bitter. Peter and james try to handle the situation but it keep on accelerating to no avail.

In the heat of the moment, remus decides to taunt sirius that he has got the girl they both wanted and tells in detail about what the two got up two just the last night. ( about their bedroom activities).

James first of all punches remus and breaks his nose for speaking like this about his sister. As if she were an object.

Turns out hermione was also nearby and listened to all this and confronts remus about using her and their relationship to make sirius suffer. She asks him if he would have asked her out if it weren't for his desire to punish sirius by asking her out.

This scene was done so fantastically that after that day lupin's character was gone for me. As soon as he comes as a prominent character in any fic, I take my leave or skip those parts.

Now obviously, the Hermione, sirius and james in that particular fic forgave poor lupin. But I never could find it in me to be able to do so. I simply was hoping till the end of the fic that they will just kick him out of their life.

This is my problem as a reader. I get too emotionally attached when the story is really well done. yeah I am malleable like that. 🥺🥺

I am once again reading a fic with sirius/ harry pairing, this too has a problematic remus but the author says that they are trying to aim for his redemption. It is called "RETURN FROM THE VEIL BY @jmagnabo92

This fic too is such where in the end the protagonist will forgive the bad guy but I will be left with even more bad feelings about this particular character than before.

So, this is the reason of me hating remus, not because of canon or wolfstar or any toxic story I read, simply a well done fic where he tried to take away the female protagonist from her destined male protagonist.
