Would it be alright to get some recommendations on how to get into wrestling? I'm intrigued by your posting but I also have no idea where to start do I just search "most homoerotic wrestling" and go from there?

i will do my best to provide a baby starter guide … this is kind of how i got into things, but streamlined so that you dear reader can figure out what you want out of life, instead of fucking around consistently like i did

yes. however, the unreality of wrestling and the blend between what’s real, what’s staged, and the genuine athleticism of the wrestlers makes for incredible long-term, partly improvised narratives that can happen nowhere else. you’re not watching a sports show — you’re watching a mix of theatre and gymnastics.

suggestion: watch supereyepatchwolf’s video , “professional wrestling is stupid and beautiful and i love it”. it’s meant to convey the wonder and fun and joy of this silly silly thing to people who are not into wrestling or don’t understand it. if you’re still curious about wrestling when you’re done, it’s time to start watching for real.

fuck it, we ball. the beauty of wrestling is that whilst there are long term narratives, all the individual matches need to convey is the struggle of that moment. whether it’s a long term feud coming to a head, friends who have to compete or have turned on each other, someone struggling to the top of a championship mountain, or a challenger coming in to try and dethrone a champion - all that matters will be conveyed to you by the tone of the match and the commentators. so you can just pick up anywhere and dive right in. but across dozens of promotions, where do you start?

well, for you i’ll do what i did, which is pick on all elite wrestling (aew). they’re not better or worse than anyone else, but bluntly for me i think a lot of the wrestlers there are cute and they’re easy for me to find. here are a few matches off the top of my head, not in any particular order. i list their names and then what show you can find the match on. most of these can be found on the internet archive, if not all.

MJF vs CM PUNK (Revolution 2022) — dog collar match. they’re collared and chained to each other. mjf hits cm punk over the back with the chain and it leaves very real, visible marks. extremely sexy if you’re into that sort of thing.

DARBY ALLIN vs JON MOXLEY (Dynamite 08/05/2020) — i’ll be real this one awakened something in me it’s just very. um. it’s just very. umm. uhhh. 😓

DARBY ALLIN & STING vs TEAM TAZ (Revolution 2021) — this is fun because it’s filmed in a warehouse location and more cinematically. it’s goofy, but has some intense stunts too. i love this match. bonus points because sting literally picks darby up and throws him.

BRYAN DANIELSON vs KAZUCHIKA OKADA (Forbidden Door 2023) — so fair warning, bryan breaks his arm for real in this match. you can’t really tell except for how he stops using his right arm for the last 10-15 mins of the match, but i love this match. bryan and okada are just both great and very intense. (btw okada broke bryan’s orbital socket last month, please help)

MJF vs KENNY OMEGA (Collision 28/10/2023) i wanted a kenny match on this list and this one is recent but great, in part because of the respect the two men show each other, rather than being an outright feud. my heart grows three sizes whenever matches end in a cuddle.

i also recommend AEW ALL IN 2023, which was a ppv at wembley and literally every match is incredible and a banger. fucking rules.

My sort-of comprehensive yet very opinionated and too deep of a dive into the voice actors of Elmer.

hey ya'll. i have a long weekend, so I have more time to absorb my cringe and rate each voice actor for my man. it's an idea i had for the past few days and really pondered as to who i prefer and why. so here we gooooooo. btw, i'm going in chronological order to help with organization purposes and stuff. also, i will definitely change these numbers in the future but the notes will probably stay the same.

Danny Webb - 7.5/10

He feels fun, fresh, funky; which is funny given that he's technically the first proper voice actor from the 30's. It's not elmer's actual voice, and it's also an impression of another actor, Joe Penner. BUT. he's fun. you can definitely tell that he has a lot of fun, and that also bleeds into elmer/egghead. he definitely feels like a proper fit for the zany and wacky vibes that the early LT/MM shorts. I really recommend watching at least one short to get those zanies into you!

Arthur Q. Bryan - 8.5/10

the OG. the main man. the one that really started it all.

he's a really big pushover at first, but over time became more assertive and gave more of a reason for bugs to be around him and bother and torment (and love). i like how his voice is mainly very quiet (haha get it), but it almost feels too quiet. he never really gets a moment to get angry and bombastic. in fact, mel sometimes had to fill in for the louder moments because Arthur just couldn't do it (SMOG!)

i feel like there's both a lot of material and not that much in terms of how much material arthur was given. then again, he did die of a heart attack so suddenly, so maybe that context for me personally made me feel like we would have a lot more opportunities.

that being said, solid and wonderful and amazing and beautiful and deep and lovely and talented and pure performances all around from him.

Mel Blanc - 5/10

he is, uh. he is.

so uh, if i remember correctly, he said at first that he never wanted to take arthur's role, but then he said sike and took the role anyway. in fact, he went on the reduce arthur's influence more and more as mel was becoming a household name. i just, mel after arthur's untimely death always urks me the wrong way. like, he would try to claim elmer amongst all the other roles he's done.

Ferris Wheelhouse had a really wonderful video that talked about this issue during his "Bugs Bunny in King Arthur's Court" review. unfortunately, it seems to be gone, and if i find it again, i will definitely link it here!

other than that, the voice itself: very, very iffy. makes me feel like that old guy with the cigar at the comedy club who says that he can do great cartoon impressions but, just can't. and it sucks. cause that's mel blanc here. and i like him. makes me real sad.

Hal Smith - 6/10

so his voice is almost the same quality as mel, but at least he feels like he's not actively trying to take control and try to shove arthur aside. he's trying his best, but again, just doesn't cut to the sheer quality of arthur's voice. not really much to say but, he's there, and he tried.

Jeff Bergman - 9/10

he wasn't too bad at first. he definitely tried to capture arthur's personality and voice mannerisms. i like box office bunny and just the vibes that he gives off in that short. blooper bunny was also really nice. he just seems like a guy that would be really pleasant to be around.

then New Looney Tunes/Wabbit came out. and then the HBO Max shorts.

holy shitttttttt. i never realized how much i would love his performance. because, here's the thing: he's manic as hell. he's chaotic. he's a scumbag. he's a diva. he's a bitchy, bitchy man. and i L O V E it.

i love how these new shorts make him both sympathetic, yet when he can be a bitch, HE'S ALLOWED TO. i never realized how much i wanted it until a couple years after Wabbit aired.

the voice: it's pretty okay. not my favorite voice, but he gives something fresh enough to feel fun and fancy free.

Billy West - 9/10

oh buddy of boys and buckets of fuck, here we go.

so, i grew up with his version, ever since the start of my hyperfixation. he's always felt my favorite. he gives something that sounds the closest to what bryan did during the good ole days. he gave elmer more of a cleaner edge. west often calls him the "0 to 60" type of guy, and yeah, i definitely see that.

here's the thing, though: west is my favorite voice, not my favorite character variation.

i feel like WB constantly underutilizes west's talent to go really zany with his fudd. whenever he does, once in a blue moon, he's REALLY good. like, too good. my sanity and my appreciation: snatched and kissed with a thousand roses. we love to see a chaotic yet loving man.

the more i reflect on this notion of his version, the more i appreciate the performances that he gave. although, sometimes, he feels like he doesn't know the context of the situation, but goddammit he is trying his best. god i miss him. father please come back, i need my meals. we need meals.

Greg Burson - 7/10

Eric Bauza - 8.5/10

not a lot of material yet from him, but i adore anything he has done so far. his performance in space jam 2 was really solid; feels like a mix of greg and jeff's performances. i hope to see so much more from him. can't really give too much yet because i need more material from him. overall, really wholesome that one be.

so yeah, those are my 11 pm thoughts on the matter. expect somewhat new thoughts to be added in the distant future. otherwise, please send me your thoughts; i love reading them and answering them on here!

I'm gonna have to say that you'd probably get along with Fate. Other than the fact that she's a grim reaper and possibly Lilith's guardian, we don't know much about her, because she rarely ever speaks. I dare say she's more mysterious than Vio.

Fate is a quiet girl, never really talking much about herself. She was there when Bryan nearly died, but didn't help him escape (assuming that that was real). It seems like her heart is closed off, and has been for a while. Maybe you can help her open up, I think you both would have a lot in common :)

Kofi Kingston vs Daniel Bryan 5/5

I love the highlight reel of Kofi. Kofi milly rockin is the best thing ever. This match is so good. The YES! chants for Kofi and the cheering for him in the back from the roster. All of this is good. It warms my heart. Bryan is also sooooo good as a heel. Who would have thought we’d ever see Bryan as anything other than the underdog? Oh my god I’m having a panic attack watching this match! OH MY FUCKING GOD!!!! HOLY SHIT!!!!!! AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHH!!!! I’m literally crying right now oh my god. ok ok ok... from an in depth view of this match, Kofi wasn’t just heart in this match, he studied the tapes. He knew what he was up against when he walked into the match. He had Daniel Bryan scouted and it was rough because nothing is as easy as it look, you can say you know how to counter the double knees, the face lock, the kicks, etc but to actually do it takes a bit of time and Kofi did it all in one match. So fucking good.

I always thought he was boring but I never ragged on him like other people did and I appreciate how open he was with his struggle but I personally didn’t become a fan or anything McIntyre is someone I’m more invested in and I’m pretty sure he’s gonna lose here. Ok partial lie there, I love ANGRY Roman Reigns, that is good shit.

Bobby Lashley looks really cool! I also love that Lashley is one of the few people who comes off the ropes diagonally, its a very little thing but I like it. Demon Balor is always a joy to watch and I love the body paint, it never disappoints! Lashley hits spears like no one else. Ooh that power bomb from Balor was nuts!

Ronda Rousey vs Charlotte vs Becky Lynch 5/5

Becky’s new gear... so cool... Ronda with the Brock Lesnar start but is quickly taken out by Charlotte outside. I hate that the titles are gonna get smushed together but I love the shot of the two belts. Becky and Charlotte are clubbing each other in the center of the ring and Charlotte aims for her own dis-arm-her but Ronda comes back in. I love Charlotte and Becky both trying to take out Ronda. Also props to Ronda where props are due, she took a nasty bump from that dropkick... Becky with the knees up to Charlotte and a dis-arm-her! Ronda not being allowed to even get a tiny bit of momentum though. YOU CHOP LIKE A BITCH! I CHOP LIKE A BITCH!? God I love this match. Charlotte and Becky so quick on the double power bomb! TWICE! God there is sooooo much fucking rage in this match! Charlotte comes straight out of the power bomb to wail on Becky. Becky kicks Charlotte out and Becky with the dis-arm-her on Ronda! Damn Ronda just lifts Becky up with one arm but Becky uses the top buckle for another dis-arm-her! Charlotte has such good timing in this match... Can you tell I was most excited for this match? lol. Yo I thought it was makeup but Ronda’s leg is actually fucked up... OH! Becky with the top rope leg drop onto the figure 8! THE MAN GETS THE TABLE! Tables are for bitches. Double spear from Charlotte! They are not pacing themselves here and I love it.

Blame Pewdiepie and Jacksepticeye for these y’all. It’s their fucking faults… I saw so many YouTubers playing Detroit: Become Human but it wasn’t until Pewdiepie finally caved in that I watched his playthrough (which he thoroughly fucked up btw) and subsequently Jack’s (to get a much better ending). While the entire game is a master work, the other two titular characters stories aren't nearly as intriguing or as well rounded and had me sucked into this world.

Long story short, I never expected to grow obsessed with Connor and his story throughout this incredible game. Dammit, now I need a PS4. T____T

This gorgeous hunk of plastic won my heart with his big brown eyes, eagerness and adorable awkward way of conversing that clashes and melded perfectly with that of Lieutenant Anderson. Yet depending on the choices the player makes Conner can turn into this badass heartless robot he was built to be or a sweet cinnamon roll who begins to realize he’s far more than what he was intended to be -- he’s alive. Deviant is definitely the better way to play for many reasons but mostly because missing out on Hank and Connor’s bromance is a sheer travesty.

Connor and Hank have the most wonderful bromance/father-son dynamic I’ve ever seen in a video game, movie, or anything really. Hank goes from loathing the wide-eyed android to seeing him as a son. GAWD, such a wonderful game and story. T_T

If you have two plus hours to spare, you can watch Connor’s whole story.

Or if you’d rather just watch a few of Hank and Connor’s best emotional moments, I found this video that show some good ones but be warned. Connor dies….a lot.

The moments are nice but y’all need to watch the full playthrough -- it’s fucking worth it.

As far as these pictures are concerned, I Initially only planned on drawing one picture of it but before I knew it, I drew him three times. After not being able to draw much since I’ve been so busy this past 6 weeks, it was fun taking time to do these and putting out some more realistic-ish work.

I adore how they didn’t make him the stereotypical perfect android with flawless features -- I love his freckles, moles, and even some blotchiness on his skin, the stray strands of hair falling on his forehead -- all of it just makes him all the more beautiful. Dammit Bryan Dechart, you fucking gorgeous creature lol. Fictional characters like this are the reason why I’m so damn picky irl haha.
