BSD Inuyasha AU

Chuuya as Inuyasha, keeper of the sacred jewel, who was trapped (with a poisoned knife of all things) to the jidaiju

Dazai as kagome, who has perfect aim (but wants to spend time with his chibi dog) so he missed and shattered the sacred jewel (scattered the pages of The book). Also, he uses a gun (priestess with bows are outdated or so he says) 

Odasaku as Kaede who teaches dazai how to use a bow and "please use it dazai we're in the medieval era, we're not supposed to have guns" "but you have magic!" "... Just don't use guns all the time"

Shirase as kikyou but he wasn't a powerful miko, but everyone (the sheep) thought he was so he befriended chuuya for power, when he saw chuuya had the book, he also claimed that HE'S it's keeper because how could a demon protect it and resist the power it holds.... So his legacy is a big sham

(Dazai gets absolutely jealous whenever chuuya brings up shirase (out of hatred), so he practices all his skills because he is better than that guy and he just wants to show chuuya.... He was successful in getting chuuya's attention, it earns him brownie points)

Akutagawa as miroku (and rashomon instead of black hole), but instead of sudden fondling, he's fond of sudden dismemberment 

Atsushi as Sango, he wants to save his sister (kyouka) from naraku (mori). Also the victim of aku's dismembering tendencies all the time

Kouyou as kagura, she's become fond of the little girl (kyouka) and she gives advices on how to avoid mori's watchful eyes once in a while

Verlaine as sesshoumaru, instead of wanting chuuya's sword, he just wants to protect his brother (from dazai specifically) so he follows their journey.

I was paging through Wan! 5 and came across the Magic Girl strips. I think I now have the start of an idea of how Dazai Alice would look.

My tentative castings so far:

More magical girl stuff

Yosano: violet + butterfly motif. Brother is Ranpo. Recently moved to town after the death of their adoptive father (rip Fukuzawa sorry man). Rivalry against fem Dazai - similar powers but she is using a darker source. Clashes with Kouyou.

Higuchi: yellow + flower motif. Younger sister Kuniko. Works multiple jobs to support her. Friends with Tsujimura and Kunikida. Her encounter with Wells, believed to have vanished months ago, kickstarts the plot. Rivals with Gin.

Tsujimura: cyan + tech motif. Befriends the strange girl in her university classes who doesn’t talk much - fem Chuuya. After magical girl-ing for a bit, she is recognized by her annoying classmate, who she realizes can somehow see through the glamour that should prevent this. She is forced to take him (Ayatsuji) along.

Naomi: blue + mirror motif. A high school student who makes it a point to learn from their enemies. Rather trickster-ish, but also very supportive and sweet. In a study group with Haruno and Louisa. Has a hidden agenda.

Kouyou: red + fire motif. An investigator looking into the case of a comatose patient named Margaret. An orphan attempting to look after younger orphan Kyouka, but winds up smothering her. Works for Mori.

Teruko: pink + illusion motif. Rival investigator on the same case as Kouyou. Willing to play more dirty and do what’s necessary but has a strong sense of justice nonetheless. Works for Fukuchi.

Lucy: green + puppet motif. Part of a group of travelling performers, all orphans - the group was initially her, Atsushi, Sigma and Aya. They have since been joined by Kyouka, who sneaks out to spend time with them. When she gets her powers she sees it as an opportunity for revenge on the people who screwed them over.

Dazai: black + scythe motif. The leader of a group of antagonistic magical girls. They draw their power by sapping the life force of others. She has an agenda. Does not seem to reciprocate Yosano’s animosity.

Gin: silver + spike motif. The right hand of Dazai. Develops a rivalry against Higuchi. Seems to agree that Dazai’s plan is a necessary evil but is stingy on revealing what said plan actually is.

Sasaki: white + string motif. A very apathetic girl who also joins with Dazai and Gin on their mission. Extremely clever.

Wells: gold + time motif. A woman who mysteriously vanished months ago. She appears to be often in two places at once - either trying to take pictures of something in the distance, or standing eerily in costume holding a golden string.

Bc of the stuff you said in the last post abt having magic being very OP I had a thought about how to make it less OP.

Imagine it only working in dire circumstances (like Yosano's from BSD) so it isn't always an option, or causing severe physical harm to the person performing the magic.

And yes! Nihility/Harmony Nazuna ftw he is the Tingyun/Bennet of Magical Girl Arashi.

first of all. Hi!! Hello Nazunon and Anon!!! and a big hi to @neptunite-stars too cuz we're gonna be discussing their ideas too! im making this a list or im gonna go crazy crazyiwascrazyonc-

Powers! (not weapons, we'll get there later)

First (1) option! Healer! Nazunon says to tone down his healing powers while anon says to keep him op to show the great loss he was in Valkyrie. Gotta agree with Nazunon in this one, even if Nito is only in the final battle, a healer with no restrictions is wayy too op and would make the audience feel like there's no reason to feel worried for the main team, because even if they get hurt they can just heal and go back to work :/

A way to prevent this (using Nazunon's example!) is putting conditions! A few ideas are that he can heal only a certain percent (some bruises will keep hurting and cuts may not fully close) due the stressing situation they are, or he can transfer the bruises to his own body, as a way to represent his caring personality yet tendency to take too much. Orrr following Yosano's(BSD) powers as example, he can heal others while hurting them, directly contradicting his personality and making him reluctant to use his powers unless is strictly necessary (kind of -1HP but +5HP per hit lol)

2nd option! Support! Can buff his ally or debuff the enemy, or mabye both, idk. A buff idea is reinforce the clothes/armor of his allies (+DEF/VEL) or weapons (+ATK/VEL), and for the debuff ma~ybe inflict little but progressive dmg, maybe where whenever his attacks hit will make the enemy feel numb which can make them unknowingly ignore the cuts and bruises others make them.

3rd option! straight up a Tank. Also starting with the Weapons and Neptune's ideas. What's the weapon that would make the little guy a walking menace, you ask? A big pair of scissors is answer! like, almost as tall as him. It *has* to be that big to be used as a shield, and when it's closed it will make the shape of a sword!

Very delicatte looking, but strong metal! It has to be able to cut heads after all hahaha!/hj

Now going back to supports/healers, i've got the classic options, staffs and books.

Needle staff and antique books (yes they're from genshin but i didn't really wanted to design the covers, but you get the idea).

The staff has a little floating threads mess in the center from where i think infinite threads should come out, but for specific purposes, like heal or reinforce allies for his healer/buff thing, or he can stab the needle in the ground to make the threads go for the enemies foot, forming sewing patterns on the ground, keeping them trapped in the place.

And the books can have like a bunch of magic/alien fashion history that Nito has to study in depth to properly cast whatever he needs. Need to heal someone's deep cut? gotta know how to do a medical stitch in detail. Wanna tie up someone? study how to properly make the knots or take the risk of them escaping.

Anyways! Those are my takes for Nazuna's weapon/rol, hope y'all enjoyed it. I dont plan making any of them 'canon' unless i make a poll about it or see a bunch people directly saying they preffer a specific one (probably).

Well it’s good to hear that!

And as for the suggestion itself: if you’ve heard of Puella Magi Madoka Magica before, you should know what its deal is. If not, I don’t want to get too deep into explaining and risk spoiling you, but it’s a magical girl show and it’s very tragic and very gay and also I’ve had fun drawing parallels between Shin Soukoku and the main couple of the show. They’re definitely not completely similar but an AU could work, y’know? Plus the doomed yuri is fun as its own ship.

It’s also my favorite anime/manga ever, out of the three series that I’ve finished/am still a fan of and the several that I’ve at least watched. (With BSD as a fairly close second. And Fullmetal Alchemist in third.)

About the only downside I can see is that it’s dark and tragic and probably the worst kind of anime “double feature” to watch alongside Link Click, if what I’ve heard about that show is accurate. But it’s still amazing and you seem like a Cool Person in my eyes so naturally I had to recommend my favorite show to you!
