OP thinks of himself as very plain and unremarkable (even though we, the audience, have eyes and can clearly see he’s hotter than 90% of cybertron’s population) whereas Meg takes one look at him and is like “you look like a fucking blow-up doll. what the fuck. I’m almost offended the autobots would devise such a blatant attempt to seduce me”

AAA thank you so much for reading and enjoying Megatron's Espionage Kink!! I know it's a theory/hc that relies on either 1) oppy not knowing what a mirror is 2) autobots having diabolical standards of conventional attractiveness, but I love the idea of oppy just. not knowing he's a complete and total bombshell. he's basically identical to any other normal Autobot that rolled off the assembly line, sure even fellow autobots joke about his lips a lot, but they're just fucking around and teasing him surely!

But megatron has Optics and he uses them to fully drink in this visage of pure seduction that would only be written about in the most indulgent filthy smutpads, look at his WAIST?! THOSE LEGS?! HIS PLUSH LIPS MADE FOR ORAL?? and though megatron usually jeers at the bright and clashing colors of autobots, he's got to admit the red and blue and silver (and that sinful yellow on his pelvic plating/helm/etc). (I just looked at a pic of cybertronian oppy again and like HIS HIPS HAVE HANDLES??? I've seen amazing posts about TFA meg assuming he stumbled onto a bang bus when he crashed the autobot ship, cause of how sexy the autobots on board are, and this is exactly what makes it so believable)

But like I was saying I really do love meg assuming oppy Was Made To Distract/Placate Him because how else could a bot perfectly to his tastes be travelling around the galaxy? If he wasn't sent to seduce megatron, this walking talking (and fighting, those sleazy autobots really put effort into making this bot appeal) blowup doll would be in the most elite brothel on cybertron.

And I think "canon" tfa meg is too busy trying to retake cybertron and destroy the autobots to stop his evildoing to play with an Autobot, even if they are the hottest bot he's ever laid eyes upon, but I love to imagine that "what if?" what if meg Did pull out the stops to launch a counter-assault (seduce oppy and fuck him stupid).

Megatron does NOT want to fuck Optimus Prime. It does not matter that this autobot was clearly designed upon Orion Pax, aka the civilian that Megatron has always found most aesthetically pleasing. However, even Orion was a rather conservatively designed bot. Optimus Prime has a large chest and tiny waist and strong arms and long legs and full kissable lips. All of these are further insults, so clearly designed for interface appeal that Megatron must turn his nose up for the sake of his pride. "Do they all think I have no self control? Is this Autobot some sort of peace offering or an attempt to distract me from retaking Cybertron?"

So yes. On some level, Megatron wants to frag that little autobot until he breaks. Fuck the bolts right off his hips. Turn him into a quivering fluid-drenched pile of loosely assembled truck parts. But he is wise and old enough to know that giving in would be a trap, an elaborate trap designed by Autobots who have finally realized that no tactic is too dirty, even if the prudes have to face the unspeakable horror of acknowledging Interfacing Exists.

Whether this is true or not doesn't matter. The f***toy look could simply be what's "in" for Autobots. Look at Bee and Bulkhead & Sentinel and Elita-1.

Optimus has no idea about Megatron's cute little theory and would strip him down for spare parts starting with his spike if he was ever to voice it to him. It would get Optimus charged up, Megatron admitting he considers Optimus so attractive that it must be an autobot plot, but he can and will ignore that too.

Because Optimus Prime does NOT want to fuck Megatron either. This is just Primus's way of punishing him for harmless private 'facing fantasies half a million years ago. It's a bit overboard as a punishment, however. Optimus wasn't even thinking about that stupid giant ancient evil leader of the Decepticons, just imagining a generic "kind of sweet and romantic in a brusque war frame way" faceless Decepticon soldier above him. Megatron? For all his great manipulation skills and that platinum glossa, the mech couldn't charm the panel off a desperate and overcharged speedster in heat.

There is No romance in the giant servos that almost choked Optimus offline and held him around the waist with ease and wrapped him up in his own grapplers. And those tastes of brutality and being overpowered do NOT excite Optimus even more.

Valentine's is Over! What now?

Hello! This is a bit of an update post now that DCA Valentine's has finsihed up. Feel free to read what you want (though I suggest at least skimming all of it so you're aware of what's happening with me) and make sure to vote in the polls!

Gen writing update

I had a few requests come in after they closed (no worries to those who did so! I know it was a little confusing regarding such) so i'll be writing those when i get the chance and sending them out into the world, beyond that however, any request-based things are closed (for now) if I get any during this closed period I'm sorry but I'll have to ignore them/not do them. I'm too busy with life/other wips to add them to my list, sorry!

Holiday Spirit is going to be my writing focus for the next couple weeks! It's about halfway done and I'd like it finished so I can move on with things lol

Confused spirit is going to take a bit, as like i've said before I'm writing multiple chapters back to back for the purpose on ensuring proper flow/building my buffer back up, i know it's been a bit but believe me it's been on my mind guhh

A/N: I'm going to let you all know well in advance that, once I finish posting through Chapter 5, I am going to take a small break from updating so I can write (I'm thinking maybe a week, tops). I've had some things going on recently that have been taking up a lot of my mental and emotional energy, which has prevented me from being as invested in the story as I want to be, so I need to take some time to get myself in the right headspace to where the story just flows out. I'm currently only two chapters ahead, and that makes me nervous, so I would like to build my buffer back up again. You’d spent the rest of the morning and early afternoon digging up everything you could about Bucky’s trial. At first, you were getting nowhere, not being able to find any information about ‘Bucky Barnes,’ but then you nearly slapped yourself on the head when you recalled Lily referring to him as ‘Jamie.’ Obviously, ‘Bucky’ was a nickname, and once you searched ‘James Barnes + trial,” you were nearly overwhelmed by the number or results you got.

Meticulously, you went through them, as if you were gathering intelligence for a military op. You read all about his history in World War II with Steve (which, admittedly, you sort of already knew about from Nat), but things took a turn when you discovered he’d been declared MIA: Presumed Dead, only to resurface around 2014.

You nearly started crying when you read what had been done to him– the loss of his arm, the experiments, the serum, all under the control of the terrorist group, Hydra. The brainwashing. And you really did start to cry when you read about what Hydra had made him do for them. The assassinations, the murders. Screw whatever Zadie and Rand thought. This poor man was a victim. One who didn’t deserve to spend a moment behind bars. Your heart positively broke for him. 

You were wiping the tears from your eyes when Zadie popped her head in. “Hey, Major,” she said, a devilish smile on her face. “You got a delivery.”

You look back at her, puzzled. You weren’t expecting anything. Getting up from your chair, you made your way to the front reception area. There, on Zadie’s desk, was a beautiful gold bowl holding a live fuschia orchid plant. 

“There’s a note!” Zadie squealed, bouncing on her toes and wringing her hands together in excited anticipation.

Biting your lip, you reached over and picked up the note. Unfolding it, you tried to make out the messy scrawl:

‘Major,

Thanks for bringing some beauty into my life last night. Figure it’s only fair I return the favor. Looking forward to seeing you tonight for dinner. - Bucky’

“Oh. My. God.” Zadie picked up a piece of paper from her desk and began fanning herself. “I don’t care how many people that guy murdered,” she said. “That’s the most romantic fucking thing I’ve ever seen!” She paused. “How did he even know orchids are your favorite?”

“I don’t know,” you said, gently running your finger along the edges of the soft petals. “I guess I’ll have to ask him tonight.” You looked back at the note, rereading it, and smiling. A Power Ranger AU inspired by a post from @anonimea1y (Sorry for the sudden tag but u made me do this haha).

Telemachus, Peisistratus, Neoptolemus and Orestes are the new owners of the Power Rangers amulets, with their fathers as the original Rangers. Due to an argument between Achilles and Agamemnon, the team was later divided and defeated horribly, with Achilles being the first to die. The remaining three then banded together one last time as an effort to fight off the villain but failed, leaving Agamemnon also died, Nestor crippled and Odysseus teleported into another dimension.

Telemachus as the new Black Ranger, and the starter of all events. He wants to find the other Rangers so that they can help him defeating the villain and find his estranged father. Unlike others, his amulet is a duplicate made by his dad in an attempt to study the relic, and Odysseus still has the original one. Unfortunately it is not a perfect replica so Telemachus has a time limit of 15 minutes. He’s trying to improve this.

Orestes is the Blue Ranger. Currently in jail for homicide (if anyone has a good Oresteria plot to fit in here please help) and not emotionally stable. The amulet is currently in possession of Electra and she is waiting for her brother to be ready to take on the title. Agamemnon was the team previous leader so this is also the position he strives for.

The moment Nestor quit due to injury and the emotional toil, he hid the amulet away and never used it again, but unbeknownst to him, Peisistratus had seen this and decided to take on the Yellow Ranger mantle for his father. He is Telemachus’ college friend and his Ranger identity has been discovered by Telemachus when he tried to get in their dorm room via a window after a crime fighting night (This is a blatant Spider-Man reference).

Neoptolemus has been the lone Red Ranger for 5 years ever since Odysseus thrusted the amulet into his hands. He was the Red Ranger in the final fight that ended the team. He is the one who returned a crippled Nestor home. The most experienced next gen Ranger along with the most violent method, and a straight up alcoholic. Get along so well with Orestes that they always need a buffer person.

Oh, hi! There's a longer post about this topic elsewhere in my Matilda tag you might want to check out.

A lot of my training approach is informed by the experimenting I did with alarms that interact with other senses besides acoustics during COVID. I got completely nonresponsive to phone alarms and things, and I was under a truly catastrophic amount of stress related to my PhD at the time, so my general functioning wasn't great and I really NEEDED external cues to trigger basic daily tasks. Unfortunately I have a pretty impressive ability to hyperfocus right past obnoxious alarms, and worse, I am very very good at absently turning alarms off or mimicking paying attention without actually pulling my focus away from the subject of my attention. You get a 5-30sec buffer of retained information for the purposes of holding up a conversation which I am continuously dumping. I am not necessarily doing it consciously, but that doesn't make it not frustrating. Especially because if a human does get my attention, many years of RSD tends to set me at hyper defensive right out of the gate. That's not ideal for a bunch of reasons.

Anyway, I found that vibration or tactile stimuli, as well as visual stimuli (I rigged a disco lamp to turn on at hourly intervals in a desperate attempt to track the passage of time), worked quite well to capture my attention and let me step out of hyperfocus enough to do the next thing. I figured eventually I would have to see humans in their meat suits again and people get weird about shit like this, so I needed something relatively discreet and quiet that shouldn't be disruptive to anyone else. I started thinking about building myself aids.

So the first idea I had was to just program a series of alarms into a smartwatch that could automatically attach them to alerts from my gcal, but it turns out that they don't have an api function that hooks up to stuff like "make watch buzz" and I ran out of bandwidth to deal with it. It eventually just seemed easier to train an entire dog to respond to a quiet alarm than to fight with the hardware and software to make a really good buzzwatch. I use a couple of different alarm ring tones to cue different actions just as you might train any dog to a word: this one means we go to the bedroom, that one means that if you take meds I get candy, and so forth. The actual sound of the alarm is a cue in its own right. I have some discussion in that other post about how I encouraged my dog to essentially play a game with me where she had to figure out how to get my attention without hurting (aka NO SCREAMING WITH YOUR VERY LOUD HIGH PITCHED BARK). Essentially, I'm shaping that out of whatever behaviors she offers me that successfully catch my attention, defined operationally to her as "standing up + sustained eye contact."

In terms of catching me when I'm tending to get stuck on something or stationary without moving, that one is less "Yes I and my dog are amazing and I've trained her to read my mind" and more "I don't make eye contact when I'm dissociating and I almost always am staring into my phone." So if Matilda catches me drifting across the kitchen glued to phone, she knows that if she rockets up and nudges me into paying attention to my body, she'll get a reward. Consequentially, she's a bit enthusiastic about this one and will sometimes ram passersby with her nose, so definitely figure out your failure modes before you teach the dogs anything.

Want to (re)read Animorphs?

Have you seen posts about the series by K A Applegate around tumblr and thought “What happens in these books?!” Are you like me and read them all as a kid but want to reread now? Maybe you just read them last month and still have the brainworms from them (heh). Maybe you want to be unmarketable by diving into a kids’ series from the 90s for the next year or just want a long-term alternative to doomscrolling?

Whatever your reason, do you want to make it a book club in the spirit of Dracula Daily?

So it looks like the poll suggests a one-book-a-week read-a-long, so it will take over a year to complete. Don’t let that intimidate you. You can always pick up at any time – either starting with an earlier book later into the year or by picking up with the book of the week as the Animorphs series was made to be largely self-contained in the individual books.

As previously stated, I’m not emailing out the bits and pieces like Dracula Daily. I don’t want to get in a fight with Scholastic and for no particular reason the year 2025 seems like an excellent year to support libraries. If your library or library app doesn’t have the ebooks or audiobooks apparently there are also PDFs of the entire series floating around on the internet with the authors’ blessing. Who knows, maybe you’re lucky enough to be in a position to have the physical copies.

Yeah. There are a lot of books. At one per week it will take over a year, but the books themselves are very short. If you’re unfamiliar with the series you might be confused by the addition of Megamorphs and Chronicles books meant to be read between the main 54. No worries, I’ve made a schedule.

I decided (admittedly quite arbitrarily) to start the first week of March to try to give a buffer between the idea and the start date for interest to spread before the first book. The idea is to finish each week’s book by Saturday but there’s no pressure if you fall behind or skip a book or join late. I can’t guarantee you’ll avoid spoilers, but I’m hoping people tag with the number or title of the book or some such method to discuss them. Idk, I’ve never done something like this before.

WIP Wednesday

Hiii so I'm introducing a new wip (again, I know, I'm sorry) which is gonna be a cute little lowkey one that I can work on while focussing my energy into finishing Disaster Date. So enjoy a small snip of my 5+1 Buck stargazing/ asking for help from the universe. It will be eventual Buddie.

When he was little, Maddie would bring him here to look at the stars. They’d lie on their backs on top of Maddie’s ratty picnic blanket, and she would point them all out, teaching him their names. He learned the constellations and where to find the planets when they were visible. It was an escape, a haven away from the disappointing looks and harsh words of their parents. “The stars are your friends, Evan,” Maddie had told him one day, when he was 8. “They’ll listen to you and maybe, if you ask them nicely enough, they’ll grant you a wish.” Now that he’s older and thirteen, for crying out loud, Evan knows she was just trying to cheer him up. God, how many times had they wished upon a star together over the years? Just last month, they’d been here, and Evan had wished he’d get onto the football team at school. Maddie had been happy and giggling, a light in herself that Evan barely recognised. She’d been so excited about something, and now Evan knows what. Doug. He hates the guy. Doug looks at Evan the way he’d imagine he would look at a piece of dog mess on his shoe. Sometimes, when Maddie isn’t looking, Evan sees Doug looking at her the same way, and it fills him up with that same hot rage. And then Maddie went and moved in with him, today of all days, and Evan doesn’t know what to do. He’s angry. He’s furious. He feels betrayed, abandoned, helpless, afraid, alone. He can’t handle their parents, not on his own. Maddie has always been a buffer, protecting Evan from the full scale of their frustration. She’s covered up for him God knows how many times, taken the heat for something he did or minimised the damage he’d done. Without her, he’s done for. It's this desperation that drove him here. Even though it’s been years since he believed in it, he has to talk to the stars.
