I feel like in their world, they are seen as mutually exclusive things. Not just by Lockwood but by everyone. Agents aren’t necessarily adults, but a third category, not kids, not adults, but people we aren’t treating as kids because we need them to do this way too dangerous shit that we could never ask children to do, but children are the only ones who are able to do it

Does anyone else ever think about the fact that when the undercover agent at the illegal auction says that Lockwood and Lucy are “just children” the first words out of Lockwood’s mouth are “we’re agents” as if those are mutually exclusive things

Does anyone else ever think about the fact that kids are treated so much like adults in their world that in Lockwood’s mind it’s perfectly fine for them to be in such a life threatening situation because “it’s their job” even though it really shouldn’t be
