and then she tells him to run to the beach and back with basilio

and she starts talking with junah and tells her to be careful

and junah says

"you do know im not a child anymore" and immediately after, basilio tells del to keep up?

hello. can anyone hear me Why is no one talking about this

i genuinely think this whole entire scene was foreshadowing for what was about to come. the thing rella says, for sure, telling fidelio to live or else his treatment had been for nothing. in the end his survival from his infection had saved a family's life at a later date–with his chosen sacrifice, of course.

but i cant get over how these scenes play out. how basilio tells him to "keep up" immediately after junah says "ugh, you do know im not a child anymore"

basilio is winning their race. it wasnt supposed to be one to begin with, rella just wanted to know if del could manage running to make sure his foot was really okay, but still- bas was the one going forward.

hes not stuck in the past like del is. hes growing, meeting and trusting new people, questioning their cause in spite of how long they've worked for louis. del is the one that cant let go, especially not of his baby brother.

"y'know im not a child anymore, del."

he knows. and despite how proud he is–he's not ready to let go of basilio.

cuphead (or casino cups? idk, cld work for either, tho i imagine it as a cc hc majorly) hc: the cupbros’ ability to revive each other isnt just their souls being smacked back into their bodies once they parry the other’s soul. oh, no.

so yk how, on singleplayer in the actual, yk, game, the fight resets whenever ya die?

what if. what if that happened for the cupbros aswell? what if, anytime they died and parried the other’s soul, they didnt get revived - they got sent back. another chance, infinite chances.

they miss the deadline the first five, twenty, sixty time. they kill one of each other and parry the dead’s soul everytime, and everytime, they get sent back to just after the devil booted them out of his casino.

So, I mentioned on my previous post on this blog that it was my second experimentation featuring OB Riddle.

THIS was the first.

Not only did I experiment with the (recently acquired at the time) brush pen set and some white pens, I also ended up mixing media for it (soft pastels were used for the background). Finally, it was the first big piece after a good chunk of art block, and the first serious big piece of traditional work.

And all it took was the spark of inspiration that disturbingly comforting concepts can bring.

Materials used:

Paper: A really cheap drawing pad I found at Action. 80 pages, A4

Brush pens: Craft Sensation Dual fineliner brush pens, 48 pcs

White pens: Gelly Roll 10 / Pilot Super Color White

Soft pastels: Van Bleiswijck soft pastels, 24 pcs

In my defense, the soft pastels and Gelly Roll white pen were acquired about 4 years ago.
