Lucy Bronze glanced at her phone, eyebrows furrowing in concern as she read the urgent text from her teammate and your older sister, Alexia. She had been in the middle of training when the message came through, but now, as she rushed through the corridors of the hospital, her heart pounded with worry. Alexia's text had been very vague. Just saying that she had to take you to the ER and to get there as fast as she could because you kept asking for her. She knew it must not have been too serious though or Alexia would have called her and you were also awake and alert enough to be asking for her.

Finally twenty minutes later, Lucy reached the emergency room, where she found Alexia pacing anxiously outside one of the examination rooms with Mapi sitting on a chair behind her on the phone with someone, probably Ingrid. "Alexia, what happened? Is y/n okay?" Lucy asked, her voice tinged with concern.

Alexia turned to her, relief flooding her features at the sight of Lucy. "She's in there," she replied, gesturing towards the closed door. "She broke her arm trying to pull off some crazy skateboard trick that Mapi said she couldn't do."

Lucy's eyes widened in surprise. "Skateboard trick? That sounds like y/n," she chuckled, shaking her head in amusement. You liked to do crazy things all the time, even if you knew you might get hurt. "Is she okay?"

Alexia nodded. "Yeah, she's just a bit banged up and in a lot of pain," she explained. "But all she keeps asking for is you."

Lucy's heart fluttered at the thought of the you needing and wanting her. Without another word, she pushed open the door and stepped into the room, where she found you lying on the hospital bed, your arm in a sling, a cut on your forehead and a sheepish grin on your face.

"Hey there, trouble," Lucy teased, her voice soft with affection as she approached your bedside. "What did you do this time?"

You winced as you shifted in the bed, your cheeks flushing with embarrassment. "I may have tried to impress Alexia and Mapi with my skateboarding skills," you admitted sheepishly. "But it didn't exactly go as planned." After you had scooted over slightly, Lucy sat on the bed next to you leaning in to peck your lips a couple times.

Lucy chuckled, her heart swelling with love for the women lying before her. "Well, next time, leave the skateboarding to the professionals," she teased, reaching out to gently brush a strand of hair from your forehead.

You smiled up at Lucy, her eyes shining with gratitude. "I'm just glad you're here," you murmured, your voice soft and vulnerable. "I... I love you, Lucy."

Lucy's heart skipped a beat at the unexpected confession, her own feelings bubbling to the surface. Actually A Kind, Considerate Adult To A Stressed and Traumatized Child

Lara- Lara is hands down the best adult in this entire game. She’s kind, understanding, and patient with Clara. She never insults her, and even when Clara is being a bit snooty, she still treats her gently. She also literally has a line where she points out that Clara is a child struggling with an immense burden. She calls attention to the fact that she’s just a kid, which NOBODY ELSE DOES.

“Poor thing, I’m so sorry for you. I wouldn’t want to carry your burden.”

It can kinda be read as pity, but pity is better than the cruelty and ignorance to her situation most of the others give her.

Also she has the one voice like where she’s like, “Poor child, she’s so tired” in reference to Clara.

The Tragedians and Executors- Idk if these guys can count, but they’re here anyway. They’re always so nice to Clara, calling her little pet names and explaining stuff to her in a kind way. They talk to her like how adults talk to young children, which she is. And it’s wild how these bitches beat THE ENTIRETY OF THE WHOLE CAST, minus Lara.

A Good Adult

Oyun- I actually cannot believe this guy is this high.

Surprisingly, he’s actually pretty nice to Clara. If not nice, then very respectful. He treats her like a queen.

Rubin- He’s chill with her 👍 (if i remember correctly)

Yulia- Similar to Rubin, she’s chill toward Clara, minus, I think, one little offhand comment that’s kind of rude. But compared to what some of the bitches below say to her, it may as well be a compliment.

Decent But Has Their Moments

Artemy- So, I feel like Artemy is very neutral toward Clara. There is that part in the Changeling route where he sends her a letter where he threatens to kill her, BUT that only happens if you rat out his location to Daniil, so it’s not a set event that always happens.

He speaks to her very curtly, and you can get the sense that he’s probably annoyed by her presence, but he’s not outwardly verbally abusing her unlike others.

If this were a ranking based on P2 interactions, however, he would be WAY LOWER because jfc, he is SO MEAN to Clara.

Daniil- So, he was actually lower at first, but then I saw some really good posts talking about how he cares for Clara in his own way (giving her money, keeping her in the Stillwater, worrying over her)—even if they are a little unconventional.

However, that doesn’t erase the fact that he is still pretty awful to her at times. I mean, he literally threatens to kill her twice, one of which happened when he first met her.

I love the “Daniil is a reluctant father figure to Clara” so much, but I also don’t think he would be any higher than this.

Also, like Artemy, if this were for interactions in P2, he would absolutely be lower.

Neutral

Olgimsky- I think he and Clara talk exactly two (2) times, and both interactions are short and don’t really do anything for the story (if i remember correctly). Also I don’t think they give af about each other at all.

Bad Grief- Neutral. I could have put him higher, actually. He seemed actually kind of nice.

Eva- Same with Bad Grief. Her interaction with Clara wasn’t hostile at all.

Victor- I’ll be real with y’all- I don’t remember them talking 😭

Not A Good Adult

Maria- She’s my second favorite character in the whole game (just behind Clara ofc), but even I can’t deny how cruel she is to Clara. She is SO MEAN.

Aspity- I actually had no idea where to put her. At first, she was in the “decent” section, but that didn’t seem right. Then she was in “Neutral,” but that didn’t seem right, either. Finally, I just decided to put her here. Because, looking back on their interactions, they were pretty hostile.

I don’t think Aspity liked Clara. A lot of the things she said to Clara were either vaguely threatening or directly threatening.

Anna Angel- She was so rude to Clara in the Haruspex route when Clara came running to her house, crying, on Day 6. Also I remember her making shots at Clara often.

Georgiy- Literally threatened to kill Clara the moment he met her. Enough said.

Mark- I remember this bitch ass being snappy with her. Which is good enough for me.

Vlad Jr.- This dude isn’t necessarily mean, but I do remember him being weirdly fanatical toward Clara. He spoke to her like she wasn’t a child but rather someone to be idolized.

Peter- He also wasn’t rude, but I just felt very uncomfortable every time he talked to her. He didn’t speak to her like a child but rather an adult. And yeah, a lot of people did that, but he was just so creepy to me. He acted like she was a goddess or something. It really rubbed me the wrong way.

Block- This may be a bit of an unpopular opinion, but I just can’t put this guy anywhere but here.

Yes, he was kind to her, but he also idolized her, which is just…Not Very Good. Also he fully tries to bring her to war?? If you say no when he first makes the offer, he literally ignores her and keeps going on about it which is a huge red flag.

Horrible Fucking Person

Andrey- I can’t stand this guy. Y’all don’t understand how deep my hatred for him goes. But this spot isn’t even a biased decision he is, SO CRUEL. The way he screams in Clara’s face when she went to his bar?? And yeah, he’s kinda right in some sense, she isn’t old enough to fully understand what she’s doing, but that is not her fault in any way. The blame should fall upon Katerina for making her run around indoctrinating people, not her. And he shouldn’t have yelled at a little girl, spewing insults at her, because at that point, his argument is meaningless when it directly attacks her.

He’s terrible. I hate him.

Aglaya- Basically every word she spoke to Clara felt like a shotgun blast to the chest and had my jaw on the FLOOR. I was not expecting the sheer disgust and hatred she had toward this child.

As such, I have compiled a short list of some of the things she said to Clara:

1. Calls her a “dim, pathetic creature”

2. Calls her insane and deranged

3. Accuses her of having a split personality disorder and being schizophrenic

4. “Prohibits her from existing”

They are truly awful people, and they do not deserve Clara.

Today's topic- the change in animation in LMK

I know like the majority of the Fandom has probably been sent to the ER after season 5 animation (or the emotion couldn't tell) but I think someone said that the animation slightly changed from like the Pilot to s 1-3, somewhere there, so like 3 different animation at this point, maybe??

Alright here's my thoughts

AGGAGAGAGGGGHHHHHHHH

Okay for real this time-

When I first watched LMK, I fell IN LOVE with the fluid motions, the active movement, the anime-style Influence, the exaggeration, the most random fun moments, pop ups, yse of environment, angles, camera movement, facial and body expression and other stuff I don't know the name of

Now as someone who's never watched Anime, please don't kill me, I don't exactly know what that looks like, but try going anywhere on the internet without tripping down the stairs and falling into the basement of ANIME

Also, I'm used to more rigid, beautiful backrounds, great lighting, or basic show animation. Such as Trollhunters, Amphibia, The Owl House, Big City Greens, Ninjago, How to Train your Dragon, Carmen Sandiego and others

So as you can see, this was new to me, and I fricken loved it

Now I can tell there definitely has been change from the Pilot to season 4, more refined, less sloppy

So, when season 5-

Oh dear, I love you Wild Brain, I really do, Ninjago and Carmen Sandiego WERE BEAUTIFUL

BUT AHHHHHH

I will say this, this is a new artstyle, they need practice, and I'm sure it'll improve, but this is not that time it's time to CRITISIZE GET THE RED PEN (maybe I am an English Teacher)

Remember what I said about what I love about LMK animation? Okay now throw it out the window into the Fire of FRICK THIS

Now I will say, they used some angles pretty well, such as using the environment to show emotion/tension, like when it would Pam out and something was blocking the two characters, from Wukong to Macaque to the poll in the Pagado and then a mountain between MK and Wukong near the end- look for its cool- someone pointed it out here on Tumblr can't remember name sorry

2nd, the expressions look really typical, like I miss the shot eyebrow from Wukong, or the the pathetic puppy eyes of MK, or the :3 for Mei, or the furious faces of Pigsy, the sparkly pure joy of Sandy, the chaotic gremlinness of MO, the evil Edit maker smiles of Macaque (I've seen your tiktoks) ALL THE LITTLE EXTRA THAT MADE THE EXPRESSIONS AND HUMOR/TENSION/EMOTION BETTER

3rd, the movements. Seen especially in the second episode when they escape. It's just, so basic running, like compare them running to MK's run in s2 running from the LBD and then when he ran in s4 away from the Ink scroll. Just so much more fear and dread. Also talking bout LBD, her voice actor? Phenomenal as always? Her movements and how they animate her? She seems more like a red headed doll with button eyes than the horror of something like FNAF(haven't played FNAF so can't really compare) what I'm saying is she seemed less huanting, a weary, fear-instilling, and bone-chilling(shut up let me pun) presence this time around, which really makes the scene less dramatic, but the camera angles, voice acting, and some animation still make it somewhat good.

Okay, this post is getting long and I can rant all day, and that's not even with me rewatching the show to pick it apart, someone probably already has good for them I'll look for it👍

In conclusion, comes of more dull, simple, rough, and rushed. S5 story, which has some problems, really hit deep in the last few episodes, mostly MK and Wukong, and if the studio beforehand continued animating, then I think it would have been a masterpiece, really sad to see the wasted potential

I know it's a new studio, but I wish they took more time to practice and learn, and maybe do it on a season that wasn't like the big reveal and end (I'd say a more happy season but let's be honest the Trauma train ain't stopping for a LONG TIME)

The ultimate outcome... the core. The fate of the dungeon is something he wants to decide and get a say in as well. Even though he knows he isn't the one thats going to conquer it, he chooses to stop Mithrun from beating up Thistle and grabs him and they free fall into that pit. Because he decided, yeah, the fate of this dungeon the one to conquer it has to be us short-lived races/humans. He is such an action oriented character . He makes such decisions. He is so determined to make sure that Utaya doesn't repeat itself. Man.

This entire song is So Kabru coded its insane to me . but I grabbed these lyrics from Verse 3 Because the last line specifically makes. me go crazy.

And like the vibe of like sinking to the sea with a heavy heart but also being someone who brings hope in a way to others (ex: Rin and Mithrun, he ends up being their anchor and helping them start like living with their lives after the burden of their traumas and hellish experiences) but Kabrus own traumas are so immense and then the person who rises . who foils him and who brings him hope is Laios. like a ripe red apple like. something bright and tempting and also dangerous (smth smth the forbidden fruit symbolism. theres so much . like Kabru that I can dissect with like Biblical symbolism themes but like anyway he sees Laios as both the key to humanity's victory against the dungeon and as sin / a distraction from his goal because Laios makes him do selfish things and its just AAAAHGHH rahhhh. man. im normal)

Ik the go to for Usagi in the rise universe is have him work at Run of the Mill or smth

But here me out, the meet the same they did(ish) in 2003, the battle nexus. This will be Miyamoto Usagi not the separate TV show one (I forgot his name). So this can be changed to fit Usagis sorry better idk much about it but like usagis family or people he cares about is trapped in the battle nexus or help captive to make usagi fight in the battle nexus or smth. The turtles have some kind of arc that got them to the battle nexus, they need someone to fight in it and "well Leo, you're already a champion" or smth. Usagi and Leo meet either in or out of arena, 8f they meet in arena that's gonna be some issue cause they both yk live past this. The find out why usagis in there and the turtles help him out, and the have a whole arc about this. Would change Usagis personality a tiny bit to match the rise universe but overall keep him the same character. Have him be a kinda mirror(?) to Leo, like Leo is yk leo and Usagi has his usual personality but a bit sillier to fit the rise universe. Idk much abiut usagis character and I don't wanna say anything and just be completely wrong (i havent seen 2003 or even gotten to hos part 2012 yet, ive just heard about everything), but like i think hes more serious and stuff, which would be a good mirror to Leo. like Leo is joking the whole time, trying to get Usagi to laugh, and Usagi starts to like this guy, now he won't admit I, but the turtle is cool, he's nice, he helps him, and if we go with the in area meeting, he could have killed him, but he didn't. He let him go, they're both fine and alive, along with his family. And idk I think the potential of meeting in the battle nexus is a lot cooler

Leo needs help with all his injuries from the portal dimension (cause he definitely has a lot of them, honestly in my mind bri passed out like right after he got back) and splinter mentions a healer he knew that would help. They go to a house in the hidden city and teenager Usagi answers who was definitely not who splinter was talking about. Usagis very reasonably confused at the strangers st his door.

Okay, let's first start off with my interpretation of Nurse Ann

I see Ann rather quiet and reserved, and pretty observant (with her surroundings and with people around her)

She keeps to herself most of the time and has trust issues (I mean, after what she went through, who wouldn't?), and only really trusts Jane, Dr. Smiley, E.J, Hobo Heart, and Liu

It did take some time for to warm up to the four guys since she didn't really like men ever since she came back to life

When she does speak, usually to scold E.J or Dr. Smiley for whatever reasons, her voice is a bit raspy

Jeff has a habit of making fun of her voice, which is pretty hypocritical of him since he sounds like he smokes several packs a day

He always regrets making fun of her after getting his ass kicked and getting chased around the forest by an angry undead nurse with a chainsaw

Doesn't stop him from doing it again, though

Since Ann is like Frankenstein's creature, being made out of different body parts and other people's skin, her limbs sometimes come loose or just full on come off

Everytime this happens, which isn't often, but isn't rare, she has to carefully sew her body back together and make not one mistake

Sometimes Liu has to get involved because he's pretty good with sewing

Ann takes really good care of her chainsaw

She cleans it from blood everytime she uses it and keeps it enclosed in a case when she's not using it to keep it safe

If anyone dares to touch the glass, Ann might have kneecaps to breaks and hands to cut off

When Ann's killing, she's usually quick with the death and saves the body for E.J so he can save the body's organs

Though there are times when, depending on the person, she's extremely brutal with them and gives them a slow and painful death

Most of her victims are men, but that doesn't mean women are safe from her rage

Whenever any of the Creeps who reside in the forest gets hurt or sick, Ann is usually where they go to so they can get fixed up

Though it is pretty hard to convince her to patch them up, especially if she hates that person *cough* Jeff *cough*

Giving her new sewing supplies to sew herself back together usually works, but not all the time

And this is mostly an idea, but I really like the thought of her wearing a vintage nurses outfit

Like from the 40s-60s

It would still be black and red like her canonical outfit she's always seen in

I also like the idea of her keeping her hair up when killing

Alright, now onto the X reader headcanons

Because Ann has trust issues, she's not close to a lot of people, and has never once dated after being brought back from the dead

But you must have done something, other than being a woman, to gain a lot of her trust if the two of you are dating

Maybe you're a human who somehow weaseled yourself into her heart by somehow surviving the forest, and somehow didn't die from her chainsaw

If that's the case, Ann protects you greatly from the dangers of the forest

She makes sure to let everyone know that if they hurt you in any way shape or form, she can and will kill them

Ann berates Smiley, E.J and Jeff the most and threatens to chop them into bits if they do anything stupid around you

She doesn't trust E.J or Dr. Smiley around you alone, because doesn't trust them to not try and eat your kidneys, and do some weird and messed up experiments on you

E.J isn't to scared since he's literally some sort of weird demon creature who could probably kill Ann, but he is just a tad bit scared if her

Ann probably makes some sort of deal with the Slender Man and his workers to make sure he doesn't get you

The Slender Man prefers kids for meals, but there's still a chance of him wanting you dead and sendng his proxies out to kill you

If you're some sort of other non-human or other-worldy creature, she'll be less protective of you, but that doesn't matter

She'll treat you practically the same as if you were a human, but less worried

Ann isn't a very touchy or words person, but wants to let you know she loves you

She gives little notes and affirmations of kindness and love to you, and probably gifts you wildflowers

You might get a small and quick hug or headpat when she feels more comfortable around you

Or even better, a small kiss

She will hold your hand the most though

If you love her back, you should probably give her compliments and let her know she's beautiful inside and out

Ever since dying, Ann hasn't really felt all that pretty anymore since she's know literally made out of other people's skin and limbs

Telling her she's pretty will boost her confidence

And she'll give you compliments back

The two of you, for fun, will, most likely than not, make flower crowns and sew different articles of clothing for eachother

You'll also read in silence together when nothing is happening

If you get sick or hurt in anyway, she's there for you to make sure you get better

Overall, Ann is a good lover who'll protect you no matter what, and make sure your safe from any monsters in the forest, and she'll show her love for you in small and sweet ways

My choice fell on Enthir/Gallus, number 4, because this ship deserves more than one angst drabble👍

Well, anon, thanks to that original Enthir/Gallus prompt, I've been so thoroughly infected with Enthir brainrot that I've started crafting an entire fic around him and his messy fucking life post-Gallus's death. Decided to take the opportunity to use this suggestion to flesh out their relationship a little bit more. I wouldn't say this follows the prompt exactly but it's close enough.

Note: gets a little raunchy near the end of this drabble. This scene will most likely make an appearance in the fic that's slowly being birthed.

Enthir had never known Gallus to be one who asked for help. He was a man with a plan, always. Every situation had a contingency, a fallback, a plan B. This being the case, when he turned up in the Frozen Hearth one evening, paler than a ghost and covered in a sheen of sweat, Enthir knew something had to be very wrong. 

“I believe I’ve found myself in a bit of a jam, my friend.”

Enthir only had to take one look at him to know that was the case. “The fuck did you manage to get into this time?”

Gallus flinched through his smile. He was hunched over in an odd position, his body (and whatever else he might be hiding) obscured by his thick woolen cloak. “You know I wouldn’t be here if I could take care of it on my own.” 

“Which means it’s bad.”

“One could say that, yes. I’ll just say, what I’m experiencing is rather unpleasant, and I could use, ah–” His eyes did a quick sweep around the room, his head remaining still, and Enthir took note of the sweat beading along his neck. “A discrete touch.” 

Enthir furrowed his brow. “Follow me.”

After making their way into the basement, in the privacy of Enthir’s office, Gallus removed his cloak, then pulled the glove from his left hand. 

Enthir hissed in empathy, his pulse spiking with panic. “Gallus, you idiot.”

The veins of his hands pulsed black, traveling up his arm to his elbow like trails of ink. On his middle finger was a ring adorned with the image of a skull, its eyes inlaid with sapphires. 

“I admit, I didn’t quite do my due diligence,” Gallus said with another wincing smile. 

“Sit,” Enthir barked, pointing at a chair. Then turned to one of his warded chests. “How long has it been on?” 

“Oh, a few days…”

“Be specific.”

“Since Fredas. Late evening.”

Enthir cursed under his breath, dismantling his wards and opening the chest. “One more day and that thing would have killed you. You understand that, right?”

“I do hate being chastised,” Gallus quipped, but his voice wavered. 

Enthir pulled a soul gem from the trunk, along with a ceramic plate inlaid with sigils. He returned to his desk and set the plate down in front of Gallus. “Hand in the center of the main circle,” he instructed, then sighed. “The most disappointing thing about this situation is that I don’t think I’ll be able to salvage the ring.”

“Please try,” Gallus urged.

“It’s either your arm or the ring, Gallus. And while I know it’s not your stroking arm, I think you’d probably miss it.” He sighed. “But I’ll try. Now hold still.”

It was a delicate process—untethering the ring’s curse from Gallus’s life force. Enthir had recognized it immediately: an artifact of the second era, worn by priests of the Worm Cult. Unless worn by the properly initiated, it would siphon the vitality from its wearer, storing it in the ring until a proper cultist required use of it. Worth at least ten thousand gold to the right buyer.

“You’ve always had a bad habit of sticking your fingers where they don’t belong,” Enthir quipped. Humor eased the panic, made it feel less dire. 

“I’ve never heard any complaints,” Gallus volleyed, as was expected. “Especially not from you.”

Enthir smiled at the comment but maintained his focus, a soul gem in one hand, spell in the other. His fingers twitched as he altered the form in his head, delicately untangling the invisible strings that spread like a fungus through Gallus’s arm, latching to his energy pools like leeches. Slowly, the blackness in his veins began to fade, shrinking back towards the ring. He heard Gallus exhale shakily. After several more tense minutes of silent concentration, Enthir saw the inlaid sapphires flash and he deftly yanked the ring from Gallus’s finger.

“Fucking hell,” Gallus exclaimed, drawing his hand back to rub at his finger. “I owe you my life.”

“Again,” Enthir reminded him. He rolled the ring across his palm, picking up the nearby magnifying glass for closer inspection, checking the inner band. The delicate sigils were still intact, glowing faintly. “Good news: it’s still functioning.”   

“Praise the shadows,” Gallus breathed in quiet prayer. 

“Yeah, that would have been one of your more costly fuck-ups.” He handed the ring over to his friend with mild dismay. It wasn’t every day something that lucrative passed through his hands. “I assume you’ll be compensating me accordingly?” 

“Coin, goods, or services?” Gallus shot back with a grin, the color returning to his cheeks.

“Coin,” Enthir clarified, leaning back in his chair and folding his hands in his lap. “Once you sell it. If you manage to sell it, that is. Otherwise I’ll take whatever you think is fair.”

“Fair?” Gallus got to his feet and strolled around the desk, still rubbing his finger absently. “You place so much trust in me. It’s touching, really.”

“Hopefully not something you intend to put to the test,” Enthir said, his pulse quickening as Gallus dropped to his knees in front of him, hands sliding up Enthir’s thighs.

“I would never.” He laced his fingers at the small of Enthir’s back, arms resting along his legs as he gazed upwards with that boyish smile he so often used to get his way.

Enthir cocked his head to the side, reaching down to brush a thumb across Gallus’s lower lip, tracing his fingers along the line of his jaw. “I could accept… services. In the interim. Think of it as a downpayment.”

known attention whore = MADE for the too self important lead vocalist whose ego eventually breaks up the band. it’s just that by standard lupin miracles nobody has even considered that as an option! but just saying “main character is the frontman” is boring so let’s go further

lupin probably had like piano lessons as a kid per the hyper decadent lifestyle of the family, but he only retained like. don’t stop believin maybe. piano isn't totally his style in a BAND band, like he COULD do keyboard reasonably if he wanted but he thinks it looks silly so he doesn’t because he’s just. like that. it's his band he gets to do whatever

jack of all trades master of none most likely. can play a little on the guitar, bass, bagpipes for all i care, jaw harp, elementary school recorder, etc, but it’s mostly for show. he’d kill on drums but that’s in the BACK and HE can’t be in THE BACK

jigen: 

a second in command comfortable with being second in command? jigen wouldn’t even be on the stage if it was up to him, he’d just play his part like standing on the steps to the platform

guitar, but prefers acoustic. he processes the notes better if they're like, "organic" like that, not to say he CAN'T do electric guitar, and he admits it sounds pretty sick time to time, but he has his preference. he loves the sound of piano, too, but he doesn’t have the fingers for it, and he’d LOVE to do saxophone but learning it is a real task and it’s hard to juggle murder, burglary, and lessons simultaneously. maybe if he ever retires. and if that smoker’s lung capacity doesn’t have anything to say about it

oh god she has a beautiful singing voice. you know it, i know it, everyone does, and maybe she’ll sing once in a while, but her REAL deal is managing.

could probably play damn near any instrument if she really tried, but she doesn’t care too much to make that effort, at least not for this purpose. she likes listening and dancing to music more anyway! it’s probably why she doesn’t sing too much despite her natural gift there. i bet she'd be hands on if they made a music video or something though

HIIIIIIII i have been doing so mcuh with work and art and everything so i haven't done much reading since june (i read like 7 books in a row i was doing so well) BUT i have been watching movies bc i found out that the local arthouse theater gives a really good student discount. also i have been hanging out at the video store and befriending the ppl who work the front desk there so i've watched a bunch of fun movies recently. SO!! some movie recs from things i've watched recently

humanist vampire seeking consensual suicidal person (2023)

dark comedy film about a young vampire who cannot hunt for food bc she cant morally justify killing people. after her parents stop hunting for her (finally forcing her to confront her fear of taking human life) she realizes that she might be able to work around her issues when she meets a suicidal teenager who wants her to kill him. genuinely such a sweet coming of age movie. and VERY silly. and beautifully filmed.

latter days (2003)

found the dvd at the local tax evading secondhand bookstore and bought it as a joke but genuinely this movie was very good. how do i even begin to describe latter days. blowjob scene in the first 5 minutes. the "sweet home alabama" screenwriter's passion project that he described as him trying to figure out what his repressed mormon past-self and his young newly out queer self would've done if they'd met. the answer is gay sex. apparently. this is an insane movie. i really enjoyed it but tbh i had the unique viewing experience of watching the movie with my old homoerotic best friend from high school so idk if my opinions on it are valid. they may indeed be tainted by that viewing experience. some insane fucking one liners though.

scream, queen! my nightmare on elm street (2019)

really great documentary for queer horror fans. follows the life of mark patton, the man who is most well-known for being the "first male scream queen" after he starred in nightmare on elm street 2: freddy's revenge. this was a video store rental and did not disappoint! experienced a positive jumpscare when i heard the first voiceover and was like "WAIT!!! cecil gershwin-palmer??????" it is indeed voiced by mr cecil welcometonightvale himself, cecil baldwin 👍

i should add fellow travelers to my TBR probably,,, i need to read again. im always saying that when i haven't read for a while but it's true. i've been reading so many theater related nonfiction books recently for work and school and independent study and stuff but i gotta read A Narrative again soon.

i also need to go insane over A Narrative again and i think that'd do the trick........

rn i'm reading "standby" which is this book about theatrical design theory and it's so SO good but a little dense. i will say the last book that i devoured was andrew rannells' book of essays "too much is not enoguh" i read that in like 3 days and that was me pacing myself. it also got the stamp of approval from my mom who i lent the book to pretty much as soon as i saw her after i finished it.

also read this weird script a while ago called "the last thing i'll ever write" by adam lauver but i really don't know how i feel about that one. it was fun to read in the moment bc reading it was like putting together a puzzle of trying to figure out how i would actually put the show on a stage but idk if i;d recommend it. it IS weird art though and i do love weird art.

ive also been watching falsettos pretty frequently. idk why. its been scratching a theatre itch in my brain.
