Cabin Pressure never ceases to surprise me. You know the game of "Fizz-Buzz" they play on (and with) G-ERTI during Xinzhou?
Well, Mum and I couldn't remember the song "'Ave a banana" related to (for unrelated reasons - I know Douglas sings some of it in the episode), so I looked it up on Wikipedia and was surprised to find (emphasis mine):
"Let's All Go Down the Strand" is a popular British music hall song of the late 19th and early 20th centuries, written by Harry Castling and C. W. Murphy.
[...]
A refrain of "have a banana", not included in the published lyrics, was often interposed after the first line of the chorus. Sometimes "Gertie Gitana" was sung instead, leading to the use of "Gertie" as rhyming slang for the fruit. A version was released by rock band Blur in 1993.
I'm just gonna leave this bit from my Bathena smut fic right here
"There was something about tasting himself inside her that made him suddenly come to the realization that he wanted to send her home like this. He wanted her to go home to her husband sated, dazed, and dripping with his cum. It was an awful thought. Michael Grant had never done anything to him, and it wasn't as though he deserved any of this for simply finding the courage to be true to himself. But the fact remained that Athena had come to his apartment tonight feeling used and unattractive and unloved, and Bobby wanted nothing more than for her to leave feeling the exact opposite. He'd feel guilty later, but in that moment, it didn't matter. She was worth a few extra trips to confession."
Got to pull out some fun stamps for this one. I had a demagorgon design that I used for the mutant wolf, and used some layered cloud stamps over the skulls to represent the Blue. I'm also really happy how the little ferret Stoat Ava in the blue bubbles turned out.
Can't forget Tula's heart and Ava's contaminated strawberries.
Let's see how this week's episode tears my heart out.
i never expected to get interested in dnd but here i am planning out a one-shot for two friends. none of us have any idea what we're doing. one of them has played dnd for a total of 10 minutes with two druids. the other has 75% of a bg3 playthrough as her dnd knowledge. i have a few hundred hours in bg3 and a love for storytelling and doing silly voices. i think we're gonna do great
I'm laughing to myself cuz I just realized I'm unintentionally making the Glen Powell rounds in the next month. New York (set it up), Boston (anyone but you), and Austin (this one is intentional though)
I'm not saying this is the bestest rectification tool for rising signs BUT
If you're really good at using a pendulum and you're questioning a rising sign orrrr you don't know the rising sign at all, it can be pretty helpful.
I myself, am shite at using a pendulum because whatever I'm gonna think, it's going to behave that way (thinking swing left, it's gonna swing left; thinking point to x on a diagram, it's gonna point to x; if you've ever used a pendulum, you know what I'm talking about). But my mom's great at this so I asked her.
We tested it on a couple of people who have ascendants at 29° or 0°, used an astrology diagram (just like an empty chart with signs) and asked. YOU GUYS IT SEEMED SO ACCURATE I WAS SHOCKED
My mom has an approximate time of birth, she always thought she's a Pisces but I rectified her chart for Aries a few year ago. And what the pendulum pointed to? Aries.
Same with my niece who is a 29° Aquarius but her time is rounded and if she was born only 1 minute later, she would already be Pisces. Personally, I'm convinced she's a Pisces. What the pendulum pointed to? Pisces.
We also checked myself cause I'm sometimes paranoid I'm a Cap (I know I'm not but a 0° rising is kinda stressful). It showed Aquarius.
We also checked a few people whom I don't have the time of birth YET and they pointed to risings that I was suspecting (especially one person whose chart I tried to rectify a lot of times and it all seems accurate). I will update you guys once I get their risings if the pendulum was right.
(Mind you, one of the people we asked about 3 times in the space of a year or so and it ALWAYS points to Gemini).
I mean, AGAIN, this is not the most reliable technique obviously but it's a fun way to test things. That is, IF you're good at using pendulum.
Because of all this story thinking I woke up with a “fuck you, canon” painting / redesign idea that I am actually hyperventilating over a little here in my head, and I will have to do something about it soon-ish.
But it involves 1) a lot of gold, 2) a lot of scars, 3) vampires actually being vampires - and I'm going into frenzy mode even typing this now cos it’s like writing a Christmas presents wishlist from myself to myself, and I’m like, yes please, give me.
