Lately I've been thinking about how when I was in my early and mid 20s I was a stereotypical hot girl™ but I hated myself. I knew I was hot and couldn't for the life of me figure out why I didn't like how I looked. I had really long, beautiful hair. I had big boobs. I had a great ass. I had a perfectly flat stomach. I was hairless. I knew how to turn on the charm and flirt. None of that mattered, I hated myself. For a long time I thought it was just societal standards making me feel like I could be skinnier, etc.
Now I'm in my early 30s and I love myself. I think I'm still hot, but I'm not a stereotypical hot girl anymore. I'm chubby, my eyebrows are not maintained, I don't shave or wax. I'm not societies idea of a hot girl and I love that about myself because after years (a lifetime really) of not knowing why I hated the way I look and hated dressing like a hot chick, I finally understand why. Because I'm not a girl.
Realizing that I'm non-binary has been the most freeing experience of my life. I really hope everyone gets to feel this way.

Gonna let you all know than we I say normalize queer sex and intimacy on media I don’t mean people are free to fetishize it. I don’t mean all queer media has to include sexual content. I don’t mean than for a queer character to be seen as queer they have to have intimacy. I don’t mean fetishized content. I don’t mean fetishized content. I don’t mean fetishized content. I don’t mean fetishized content. I don’t mean

Can you imagine what it might take for someone like Zoey Redbird to take that leap from selfish, immature, self-involved brat to a maturing young adult capable of shouldering the incredible responsibility she has been given and more than equal to the task, who cares deeply for her friends as well as all her classmates, and who is worthy of training to become a high priestess one day?
I can't either -- I'm just wondering if you can.

thematically winter is typically associated with death and hardship and general bad vibes, but I think there's untouched potential when it comes to summer.
summer is life, overflowing. the cup runneth over and far too little dies. insects thrive and bacteria becomes voracious, because decay is part of life. in the humid warmth all manner of thing can grow and writhe and spread unchecked.
cold sharpens the mind, the hard edges of chill nipping flesh and making nerves sing, while heat dulls it. blood runs hot, tension grows, the air is suffocating, and your focus wavers. delirium is summer's domain: shimmering air and feverous visions.
summer is inextricably linked with radiance and heat, whether it be beaming sun or roaring flame. it's the beauty that burns.
winter is unforgiving, yet you know where you stand. summer is sickly sweet rot, hidden by the perfume of all the flowers.

i understand the sentiment behind “it’s their own story and their own characters they can do whatever they want and it won’t be out of character or misunderstanding the source material because they MADE the source material”. i understand.however. i don’t agree.
i first learned that with the dear evan hansen movie. it literally had the original writer from the musical and YET. it seemed very preoccupied to address allegations from fans about homophobic comments and to do whatever they did with connor and zoe and so on that they literally forgot how to BE A MUSICAL. and that’s just one of the most outraging problems.
writers put something into the world and it comes to life when an audience interacts with it. and afterwards writers can forget their intentions, can forget their lore, can change their minds and add or remove things in a way that’s not thoughtful, can be unaware of something that was present in their original work and contradict it later in a way that detracts from the story, they can have had something due to input from someone else and then let go of it without care for its impact on the story…
i believe that although they’re the creators and they get most of the say on the stories and characters, writers don’t have to be the ultimate authority, and that they can be wrong. particularly when they’ve already put something out into the world and want to make something new after it (a sequel, adaptation, continuation, etc.)
not that they HAVE to listen to the audience. a lot of times that just makes the work worse. but they have to be aware and thoughtful of what they’ve already done when they want to do more and they have to make an actual effort to stay coherent. it’s not natural just because the same person made it.

It's fascinating that Superman is being accused of bringing destruction and invading a place he is trying to help when he's (most likely) the one fleeing the very things people think he brings.
