Today marks three years of Dianthus existing! I made my first concept sketches for her on 11/20/23 💖 this also means it's been three years of Diathesterius! I sometimes use the date I uploaded Dia to toyhouse, the 21st, as the anniversary date just in case I'm late... but I managed to finish colouring this <3 I had actually wanted to do something for this earlier in the month, I even made some very elaborate plans for it... but it ended up not happening! Which is okay 💞 but I still wanted to draw a little wedding piece... so I did! I'll make something fancier when I have more time later on... 💝 I used my own handwriting here for authenticity, but at some point... I'd like to be able to rewrite in Greek for More authenticity <3 Uncropped version (and long rambling post) under the cut 💕 I get a little Vulnerable so don't read it if you're gonna be mean or else I'll like Get You or something

I've made posts in the past talking about why Theseus and Asterius mean so much to me, but I don't think I've made one on why Dianthus herself means so much to me.. so for her own third year anniversary, I'll do that here! before I begin...! the fruit in dia's hair here are from the strawberry tree, arbutus unedo. I associate the tree and its fruit with Theseus but... it's honestly been so long, I don't remember exactly why! Just that, for some reason, I imagine thathis childhood home had a tree of these fruit blossoming just outside his mother's room, and thus he has fond memories of it. Lady Dianthus... she who loves all things pink, actively hates celery, and still has a job at the library despite being so fogetful and clumsy... she who met Theseus and immediately became obsessed because it was the first interesting thing to happen to her- not a parent or someone she's close to, but herself! her first time feeling as if she had a true purpose. She who didn't understand Theseus' obsession with Asterius until meeting he Minotaur, and promptly decided "he's not scary? he's not scary at all! he's just a cow!" I've made sona and the likes before Dia of course, but she was the first in a long time who was truly meant to resemble me in all ways (except for the setting, of course...). I made her design simple so I would easily be able to redraw her, and gave her one of my favourite palettes pink and green and cream and gold. At first I really didn't expect to get that attached to her... I went months without drawing her after her initial creation. but the more I drew her the more I realized how much fun I was having with her...! It's funny looking back on it... originally I had a much more comedic idea for her story, and di not intend to ship her with Theseus in any serious way. It was going to be a completely one-sided love (with Dianthus taking the role of "crazed fangirl" - which she still is, in a way). I'm sure it isn't a surprise but it didn't take me long at all to start drawing ship art of them, creating artworks and writing of Theseus and Asterius was a self indulgent joy for me, so why not selfship art too? I ended up invested, of course. Using Dia I put a lot of my own feelings into a story; a sense of otherness, her loneliness, feeling lost and out of place. I had removed it later on because I felt uneasy with how vulnerable it was, but at one put I had placed one of the most traumatic events of my life into Dia's story- sometimes I think about adding it back, because I know giving her an oppurtunity to open up about it with her beloveds would be something beneficial to Me irl(!). But that's besides the point here... she's a stubborn girl, sweet but arrogant is my usual go-to descriptor for her; that's how I think of myself too, just based on what I've been told (I have a hard time thinking of myself as nice, though others always say so to me...). That may be part of why I tend to look for those features in (fictional!) lovers... something feels good to me about being able to butt heads due to this shared traits, but still coming together and making amends despite it. I do think it's a little funny that the sonas I've gotten the most attached to so far- Dianthus, and now Nerine- have some sort of theme of death with them. Dianthus is literally a ghost, and Nerine is metaphorically one (and maybe liteally, if I ever make up my mind...). Maybe that's just fitting for me, though... hmm... I'm not sure what else I want to say here... I think of Dianthus as "Me but in Hades Game / Ancient Greek context." Of course some events that happen in her life didn't happen to me, or, sometimes, I dramatize it (Dia's mother leaving her and her father to become the wife of a god was inspired by the fact that for the first few yers of my life, my parents were separated... but they always had a positive relationship with one another! Unlike Dia's parents), but she's become a big par

t of me all the same. Just as I am happy and hoping to spend many more years with Theseus and Asterius, I hope to spend many more years with her as well. i think that's all I'll write for now <3 if you read this thank you for being curious enough about me to be interested in all this 😭

Against All Odds (Joel Miller x fem! reader)

General Warnings for later on: The main story will have an age gap between Joel and the reader (Reader will be 25 once we get to the main storyline), this will also be your warning that it will eventually be an x pregnant reader (if that's not your jam, I'm sorry) there is also going to be more graphic/trigger parts later on so please always to be sure to read the warnings BEFORE reading. This story will also be 18+ and TO BE ON THE TAGLIST YOU CAN NOT BE AN AGELESS BLOG (i do actually check that) also there first hand full of parts are all prologue so Joel won't actually be in it for a bit

Ten years. Ten long years in Boston. I couldn’t even tell you what it was like living anywhere else. These ten years felt like twenty and everything before getting here just seemed to melt together. The only thing I could remember was losing everyone. From Ma, Alan, Roy, and Marc on the first night of the outbreak. To Chris in Knoxville.

By the time they made it to Boston, only Zeak, Scott, Pa, and I were left. How had this happened? It wasn’t even the fucking cordyceps that took most of them, only Ma. And now, it was only Pa and I in our little apartment.

Zeak got caught up in some illegal shit. Something about dealing pills to someone. He missed a deadline on a payment. I was told they shoved him off one of the buildings. That story spread like wildfire. Even now, 6 years later you can still hear whispers about the poor country boy who got too big for his britches.

Scott died about a year ago. Our block was notorious for fireflies breaking out in gunfights. Scott got caught in the crossfire. I found him, shot full of bullet holes in the alley by our building. He was only a few feet from the door. He had almost made it. I held him as he bled to death in my lap, knowing there was nothing I could do. Even after his hand that was grasping mine went limp, I held on. He was all I had. Pa still resented me for what happened to Chris, even with his memory failing him, he remembered that much. The nightly patrol found us and took his body from me and escorted me upstairs.

When I got there, his blood was still all over me.

“Where the hell have you been, girl?”

“You’re not wonderin’ where Scott is?” I asked.

“He’s a man he knows how to handle himself just fine.”

“Really? You wanna know whose blood this is?” I snapped.

He stayed silent.

“It’s Scotts. You hear those gunshots earlier? Yeah, those landed themselves in your son. He bled to death out in the alleyway. He’s gone! He’s dead! Just like everyone else! You happy, Pa? Huh? You gonna blame me for this one too?”

I did wait for him to answer. I stormed out of the small living room and went into the bedroom.

After that, Pa and I hardly talked. His memory got worse. I swear there towards the end he couldn’t remember why he hated me just that he did and that was that. But we were all each other had left. So when he died, it still hurt. I was now alone.

But life goes on. I found him in his bed yesterday morning. I knew he’d be getting tossed in the burn pit today. Just my luck that is where I was stationed to work. I got up, got dressed, and headed out.

I said hi to the regulars I saw along my route. Despite the events of yesterday, I went on with a smile. No need to make my problems anyone else’s or make anyone feel my sorrow with me. A few of them offered me their sympathy, which I took gratefully.

I checked in at the workstation and then went to my assigned area. As I scanned the area I didn’t see anyone I recognized. Sometimes that was nice other times it was nice to have someone to talk to, it helped pass the time.

Work went by uneventfully until I saw him.

"Careful with that one!" The words left my mouth before I realized it.

The man that was about to pull my father's corpse out of the truck gave me a weird look.

"Sorry." I said quickly.

"You know him?" He asked. I couldn’t tell if his tone was sympathetic or just annoyed.

"My dad." I said, stepping over to help him.

He gave a small nod, “Give me a hand then.”

We hauled him over and tossed him into the pit. I took a deep breath to keep the tears at bay.

"Don't cry. Not here." The man mumbled, patting my arm roughly and I nodded.

We continued to work in silence after that. Until we were leaving at least, then I spoke up again.

"Hey, I don't see you around often. Do you jump jobs or something?" I asked.

He nodded, "I go for whatever's paying the most at the moment."

"Well, what's paying right now?" I asked.

"Why would I tell you?"

"Look man, we just tossed my father into the pit. I'm kinda on my own now. I need money." I reasoned.

He sighed and I could tell he was thinking it over.

"Come on." He nodded for me to follow.

It definitely wasn’t going to be the funnest job, none of them were, but money is money.

"Thank you..."

"Joel."

"Yn. It's nice to meet you." I said holding out my hand for him.

He nodded and shook it. Then we went our separate ways.

The next morning I found him fairly quickly as we headed in for our shift.

"Good morning," I said quite cheerfully.

He side-eyed me, clearly not happy to be up so early.

"Why are you in such a good mood?" He huffed.

"I woke up this morning."

"And...?"

"That's it. I'm alive to see another day." I explained.

"You're optimistic." He gruffed.

I smiled at him, as I opened the lid on my thermos. I took a drink and nearly gagged before holding it over to him.

“What is that?”

“Why don’t you tell me.” I nodded to it to signal him to take a whiff.

His eyes went wide when he smelt what it was.

“Have some.”

He hesitated before taking the thermos and taking a drink of it. I watched with a small smile as the coffee visibly woke him up more.

‘That’s so good shit right there.”

“My old man had a stash of it that I was never allowed to touch… I hate it. The rest of what I have is yours if you want it.” I offered.

“What do you want for it?” He asked, clearly skeptical of my offer.

“Nothin’.” I shrugged.

“That’s a lie. Everyone here wants something for something. Nothing is free. So what do you want for it? I willin’ to bet I can get my hands on it.” He said.

“Damn, you’re determined to get some coffee, aren’t you? How about a friend?” I asked. To be honest despite his rough exterior and not knowing him long I was warming up to him. I didn’t really have friends so why not.

“What?”

“Look, I don’t really have anyone anymore, so yeah, a friend would be nice right now.”

His face softened and he held out his hand for me to shake, “Deal.” he said with a small smile.

I smiled back at him as I took his hand and shook it.

Our friendship grew from that day on. We worked nearly every day together. And even spent our days off together. One afternoon we were sitting on the roof of my apartment building having lunch when he asked me where I was from.

“Texas.” I replied.

“No, shit, me too.” He said with a small smile.

“I feel like now would be the time where I am supposed to ask what part of Texas but, I honestly wouldn’t know the difference,” I admitted.

“It’s okay, what part were you from?”

“Canton.”

“Oh, I know that place, cute little town.” He commented.

Things were great, then I met Tess. She didn't like me much and didn’t seem too keen on my joining them outside of the city but Joel eventually convinced her.

Then about a year after we met things went south for me. My block was taken over by the FireFlies. I got caught in the crossfire. I collected what I could of my belongings, which wasn't much, to begin with. I made it out with a shot to my shoulder. It hurt like bitch but I kept going I made it to Joel's and pounded on his door to be let in.

He threw it open and his face dropped when he saw the blood seeping through my top.

"What the hell?" He pulled me into his apartment.

"Fire Flies." I answered.

"Gunshot?"

I nodded and all but collapsed into the chair at the table.

"Hey, stay awake." He said to me before calling for Tess.

"Why'd the kid bleeding?" She said, almost annoyed.

"I'm not kid." I shot back.

"Cut it out you two! Get the tweezers." He said to her, she sighed and grabbed them, getting ready to help me.

Joel began reaching for the hem of my top.

"I gotta take this off, okay?" He asked gently.

"Buy me dinner first." I joked, not really thinking about the consequences of my words, but we flirted all the time so it shouldn’t be an issue.

He laughed a little and slowly and carefully took it off. I hissed in pain.

"Sorry." He mumbled.

"Where?" Tess asked large tweezers in her hand.

"Back of shoulder." I said leaning forward.

She went to work and the moment I felt the cool metal touch the raw flesh I flinched.

"Damnit, stay still, kid!" She reprimanded me.

"Sorry, hurts." My eyes watered.

She went in again and I flinched.

"Okay, Yn, imma hold you down, okay?" Joel asked.

I nodded lazily.

"Keep your eyes open." He said, holding me down to the table.

I felt the cold metal touch my skin once again but didn't flinch this time.

"Fuck!" I gasped in a breath of air as I felt her pinch the raw flesh of my wound instead of the bullet.

"That's not the bullet you fucker, that's me!" I said through gritted teeth.

"Joel, it's wedged in there..." Tess said quietly.

"Just cut it out. I few extra stitches is better than dying of infection." I said reaching for my knife in my pocket.

I got it and tossed it on the table. Joel quickly grabbed it and poured some alcohol on it to disinfect as best he could.

"Can I hold your hand?" I asked, holding out my good arm.

He nodded and slid his hand into mine. I squeezed the hell out of it as I felt the blade cut into my shoulder.

"Breathe, Yn. You gotta breathe through it." Joel said, taking deep breaths to get me to mime him.

Focusing on him helped and soon enough it was all over and I was stitched up.

"There you go kid." Tess said, patting my other shoulder.

"M'not kid." I slurred as I leaned more into the table.

"Here go lay down on my bed, you'll be more comfortable." He said, helping me stand.

I stumbled but he was quick to catch me, "Can I borrow a shirt? I got blood on mine."

He laughed a little, "Yeah I'll get you one in a minute."

Once he got me into a new shirt and laying down he sat beside me on the bed.

"Sorry bout the floor. I'll clean it later."

"Don't worry bout that. Just rest." He said, giving me one last look over before standing to leave.

“Wait…” I called out and he stopped.

“Will you stay with me?” I asked quietly.

Joel stayed silent for a moment, “I’ll be right back.”

He left and I could hear muffled voices through the walls but couldn’t make out what was being said. Then I heard the door slam and a few moments later Joel walked in. I gave him a confused look.

“What happened?”

He shook his head, “Tess left. It’s okay. Get some rest.”

“You too, come on.” I used my good arm to lift the blanket up beside me.

I could tell he thought about it for a moment. But a moment later he was shedding his boots and crawling into the bed beside me. From that night on we shared a bed. Our relationship grew more and more and although we never officially defined it, we understood that we had something together.

A little over a year after that night was my first time leaving the QZ. I was very nervous but Joel assured me everything would be okay and that he wouldn’t let anything happen to me. It was the night before we were supposed to leave. Joel and I were laying in bed together and I couldn’t settle down.

“Be still.” He mumbled.

“Sorry.” I tried not to sniffle but failed.

He pushed himself to sit up and turned on the small lamp beside him, “What’s wrong?”

I bit my lip trying not to break down, I was embarrassed by how scared I was to leave the QZ. Part of me was still very insecure that I was so much younger than he was. I never wanted him to think that I was immature. I sat up with him and pulled my knees to my chest.

“I don’t know if I should go tomorrow…” I whispered.

“Why not? Did Tess say somethin’ to you? Because she’s just trying to get in your head. We’ve never taken anyone out with us before. It’s more risky, but I promise you’ll be fine.”

“How do you know?!” I snapped at him, “How do you know?” I repeated much quieter as the tears began to fall as the memories of being attacked by an infected all those years ago resurfaced.

Joel pulled me to sit between his legs as he held me tight.

“What happened, sweetheart?” He asked gently.

“On our trip here from Knoxville, we were less than 5 miles away from the QZ, I got attacked…” I continued to tell the story of what happened that day and how Scott had helped me.

“Sweetheart, I promise, nothing is going to happen to you tomorrow.” He said gently, pressing a kiss to my temple.

He continued to hold me before I began falling asleep in his arms. Then he carefully laid us back down but continued to hold me close as we both drifted off to sleep.

LOKI 2X4 SPOILERS!

I'm putting my Loki theory cap back on now that I've watched ep 4. I mean talk about a cliffhanger. But I can't help but wonder what will happen next. So obviously I turned back to the trailers and earlier episodes looking for clues and I now have a theory. I hope it's one that makes sense but I have a habit of rambling when trying to explain how my brain works, so apologies if that is the case. But anyway on to the theory.

I know the initial reaction to have to that last scene is to say well obviously they aren't all dead, there's still two episodes left. I said that too when I first saw it, but I actually do think everyone in that room apart from Loki died at that moment. However I do think we are still going to see them again.

From the trailers we know that there are more scenes of Loki time-slipping that we haven't seen yet, despite that problem supposedly being fixed in ep 1. But they used the loom to fix the time-slipping, so I think that as the loom is destroyed Loki's time-slipping will come back.

I think a big clue as to what is going to happen can be found all the way back in ep 1 and its largely this moment that I've based my entire theory around. It's the scene where Loki time slips into the past whilst talking to Ouroboros.

I actually think Ouroboros is very significant, the symbol of the serpent eating his own tail causing its destruction and rebirth at the same time, this idea that the end is the beginning and time being circular. They bring it up in this episode when talking about Victor basing his work on OB's and OB basing his off of Victor's.

In that scene in ep 1 we learn that by talking to OB in the past Loki was able to have a direct influence on the future, its played off as a funny scene, but I actually think its really important.

So, getting to the point, I think just as the loom explodes killing everyone left in the TVA, Loki will time-slip away. I think he will then end up being pulled to all the timelines that our gang were stolen from.

There are these shots from the trailer that show B-15 as a doctor, Casey as some kind of workmen in an underground tunnel looking place and then Loki time-slipping outside of a power sports shop that is selling jet skis. I think each of these are showing the lives that were stolen from B-15, Casey and Mobius. There is a quick, blink and you miss it shot of Mobius on a jet ski in a featurette that was released and he is wearing a blue jacket with the Piranha logo on it, so it looks like he works there, which explains his fascination and love of Jet Skis.

I have two theories about what might happen when Loki interacts with the gang on their own timelines. Either he will just straight up tell them all what is going to happen, their minds will later be wiped by He Who Remains but those memories of that conversation will still be there and Sylvie will be able to access them when the time is right.

The other theory is that maybe Loki is the one that takes Mobius, B-15 and Casey from their timelines and then hides them amongst the other variants stolen by He Who Remains, knowing that later they will become his allies, essentially creating sleeper agents within the TVA from the beginning.

Either way I am sure that we are going to see their past lives which I am really excited for.

It also looks like Loki will end up time slipping back to the past TVA. We get a few shots in the trailer showing Loki there. This one where he comes across himself reading the TVA guidebook:

And this one where he seems to be a prisoner again:

The one where he is a prisoner again I wonder whether that's him travelling back to the TVA he was at in ep 1 before they all had their memories wiped, only this time he lets them capture him so that he can talk to Mobius and explain what is going to happen.

The other possibility is that he goes back to the events of season one when he is first arrested and warns them then.

I think Loki is going to meet our gang several times over the timeline and each time will have to explain what is going to happen like a loop. There is a clip in the teaser trailer where Loki is talking to someone about how he has been time-slipping and he says its hard to explain again. Then as the trailer comes to a close it shows the same shot and Loki repeats the word 'again.' Really creating this idea of time looping and events repeating themselves.

There are also those shot of Loki and Sylvie outside Mcdonalds that we haven't seen yet. I think that for Sylvie this will actually be the first time she will see him, so he travels back further and meets her on hiss own this time, whilst for him they've had those previous interactions from ep 1, 2 and 3, for Sylvie he's just popped up out the blue now, if that makes sense.

There are also shots of them talking in what appears to be a bar where she is wearing the same clothes as the unseen McDonalds scene. So maybe after he finds her, again, he convinces her to go to the bar with him to talk and that's why when she asks him what he really wants he replies that he wants to save his friends, because for him they were killed when the loom exploded and he is hoping by communicating with past versions of them he can change what will happen. It's like Sylvie said when Loki told her that he had seen her at the TVA and that it was the future it was going to happen, she replied 'Is it? Because that sounds alot like the future has already been written and we both know it hasn't, I made sure of it.' Again letting us know that the 'future' we just saw where the loom explodes can be changed and isn't set in stone.

I also do think that the loom exploding is going to have other consequences though if these shots are anything to go by:

It looks like the timelines are all going to start turning to spaghetti and just start disentegrating away. Sylvie is again in the same clothes as the Mcdonalds and bar scene so I think maybe at first she rejects Loki and refuses to help, like she did when Loki came to her in ep 2, but then seeing this goes to him realising how serious the situation actually is. This effect kind of reminds me of that episode of What if, and the Multiverse of madness with Dr Strange and the melting around them because he messed with time too much. Like everything is just slowly melting away.

But as I said there is this theme of time looping that was in the trailers and in the first part of this season, so obviously Loki is going to manage to get the gang together for a second time and hopefully this time it will go differently. We know they are all going to end up back in the loom room as there is this shot of the whole group there and where Loki is, for some reason, holding a microphone like he is going to make an announcement.

So in an attempt at a summary, the Loom exploding will be a bit like a reset. Loki will go back in time and then work to change how things turn out in an attempt to make sure the Loom doesn't explode and find the version of the timeline where he can save his friends and where they are successful at stopping the Loom's destruction.

Weekly Summary October 20, 2023

Hi peeps, lots of stuff happened this week, so I'm going to do my weekly summary instead of individual posts or answering individual Asks. This is a LONG one, so grab a drink, and dive right in for: Ringgate, Sam and the City, and Sam and open letter and follow up statement. Also, starting tomorrow, I'll be off for the weekend, my man surprised me with a trip away to the beach before the weather starts to cool down.

Anyhooo, let's start off with something light. #ringgate. For different reasons some fans get verklempt when Sam wears jewelry, and panties definitely get twisted or wet, depending on who you are, when Sam dons RINGS. Sam wore the 2 rings he's been wearing lately during his appearance on Jimmy Fallon a few days ago. Sidenote: Samshine is EXTRA Samshiny is in this pic. Say what you want about him, but the man is BEAUTIFUL 👇

So, of course, Extreme Shippers are convinced Sam is "finally" wearing his wedding rings because he's married to Cait. Um, one small problem, Caitriona Mary Balfe is already married to Tony McGill. Some Non-Shippers get excited to see him wear rings because maybe it makes them think of when Sam WILL get married. There is something about a man wearing rings. I find it sexy as well. But, alas, these rings are on the right hand and Scottish people wear wedding rings on the left hand. Also, Sam's definitely NOT married to anyone since we've seen him linked to several women lately.

For the people who had doubts the copper looking ring is an Oura ring, it definitely is. Here is what the two rings most likely are. The silver one I'm told by some of the Team is 👇

And here is the Oura ring he's wearing, most likely in Rose Gold. It's basically a ring with a computer in it to keep track of physical stuff, the way a fitbit or Apple watch does. Seems EXACTLY like something Sam would wear 👇 So, let's put #ringgate to rest now, please.

On to WHERE in New York had Sam been hiding. Everyone thought he had left and that his recent appearance on Jimmy Fallon had been taped earlier, until we saw THIS fan pic with him. 👇

My New York sources said he had not been seen at his usual hotel The Crosby. I'm putting out the name now just because EVERYONE knows that's where he stays in New York. He used to stay at The Bowery Hotel, but the last few years it's been The Crosby. None of the usual pic and autograph hounds got pics with him, so we assumed he wasn't staying there. All those hounds have contacts at the different hotels and restaurants frequented by celebs, so they would have been alerted to Sam staying there. Soooooo, if he wasn't at The Crosby, BUT he was in New York, THEN the possibilities are. He's aware too many fans know he stays at The Crosby, so he's switched hotels. Onto more serious matters. I'll preface this by saying I have made it a policy on my blog to NOT talk about anything political and to also not talk about any world events happening, which are upsetting. This blog is my escape from real life. So, I want to continue on that path. But I'm making an exception this time because based on the DMs an Anon Asks I'm getting there is some confusion as to why Sam posted this message on his social media. I just want to give people some clarity on it. And them move on. So, Sam posted this. 👇

It was in response to Sam and other mostly UK celebrities signing an open letter asking Israel to cease fire on Gaza, and explicitly claiming Pro-Palestine sentiments. If you click below, you will find an article on it and then keep scrolling down and you can read the actual letter. That's the letter Sam signed. A few days later, he clarified his feelings and regretted signing it because it doesn't represent fully what he meant. 👇

Here's the thing the history of Israel/Palestine is LONG and COMPLICATED. And most people haven't done enough research to know it fully. Most people go by sound bytes they see as they scroll social media. Or they give in to confirmation bias based on their political party, nationality, ethnicity, religion, affiliations etc.

I'm not going to get into the specifics because all of the information is easily accessible if anyone TAKES THE TIME TO RESEARCH AND READ THE HISTORY, both of Israel and Palestine...with an OPEN MIND.

The reason Sam got himself in trouble with signing the open letter and then the subsequent damage control message is that he didn't take the time to do his research. In extremely simplistic terms: Most of the UK, and in fact, most of Europe has traditionally been Pro-Palestine (except for European Jews, of course). The U.S. has traditionally been Pro-Israel and are allies. Up until recently that is. Due to the divisiveness in the US since the Trump era, Conservatives (Republicans) in the country became even more Pro-Israel, which then meant Liberals (Democrats) had to be the opposite. The rhetoric that Israel was the oppressor and Palestine was the oppressed grew louder. You had to pick one or the other. You couldn't take a step back and look at the history of the Jews being oppressed pretty much since Moses kept trying to get back to The Promised Land aka modern day Israel and Palestine. Or the Palestinians also being oppressed and their lands shrinking year by year.

The Jews have always been fucked over throughout history. And the Palestinians have always been fucked over, but especially since 1948 when modern day Israel was created. So, then, TERROR GROUP, Hamas decides, we're gonna fuck you over, Israel, REALLY BADLY, and engaged in some of the worst atrocities in recent times. No matter what anyone's beliefs are, when you saw what Hamas did (I'm not going to write the details because it's a horror show we all already know about) EVERYONE in the world should have said "Not today, Satan, not today," and DENOUNCED their savagery.

Hamas is NOT the Palestinian people, Hamas' ONLY goal is to terrorize and destroy. First the Jews, then their allies. Look up in the sky if you're in the US, one day a missile will be coming your way if they aren't stopped. After Hamas committed their savagery, Israel, understandably attacked back. They defended themselves from TERRORISTS trying to literally annihilate them. That was NOT the time to chant Free Palestine or write Free Palestine open letters. Just like after the murder of George Floyd, the Black Lives Matter movement came to the forefront in the US, but you had people countering "All Lives Matter!" Yes, all lives matter, but RIGHT NOW we're focusing on Black Lives, ya dopes. Breast Cancer awareness month. But what about Lung Cancer, Colon Cancer, they're important too?! Yes, but JFC, FOCUS people. Should Palestine be free from Israeli occupation, should they have more land? OF COURSE. But when the world SAW what Hamas did to HUMAN BEINGS, regardless of nationality or religion, the ONLY thing that should have been chanted is "DESTROY HAMAS." Hamas fucked things up for Palestinians, not just Israelis. And because of Hamas' actions, now Palestine is getting destroyed by Israel. And then Hamas will counter attack. And it will go on and on. There should be NO sides. There should only be ONE side, the HUMAN side.

So, when celebs seemingly "pick" a side, especially without considering the repercussions, they will get pushback. I love Sam and he's a good man, but he missed the mark on this one. Not through malice, but rather, naivete and ignorance. By cosigning that letter he didn't realize he wasn't simply signing a Pro-Palestine letter, he was simultaneously signing an Anti-Israel letter, Anti-Jews letter. And the reality is he alienated his Jewish fans, his more US conservative fans, his more centrist fans, assorted other fans...and I'm just going to state facts...he forgot WHO runs Hollywood, has always run Hollywood, and will always run Hollywood, including people who run Starz, as well as WHO are some of his agents, and publicists, hence the "better late than never" damage control quasi apology.

If you're wondering about MY stance: I feel badly for the Palestinian people and I feel badly for the Israeli people. There, that wasn't so hard to say, right? You CAN be Pro-Palestine AND Pro-Israel aka Pro-Humans. In the end, ALL HUMANS want the SAME basic things: food, clean water, shelter, safety and peace for their loved ones. To pick sides is to say that one set of people is more important than the other. And that can't be true. It isn't true. I pick the Human Side. Simple as that.

Sea Monster AU: Chrefxposition

So, on the one hand, this part is a few days later than originally promised. On the other hand, it's twice as long. I could have arguably made this into two parts, but I've got no energy left to figure out where exactly it should be split. Turns out decent exposition can take a while!

In the eventual fanfic proper I'll be sure to spread/foreshadow some of this exposition earlier. With me writing as I'm going it with only an outline for certain events, the foreshadowing is going to be a bit splotchy, but I'll try my best.

Without further ado, time to watch Noah go darker yet darker still!

For the rest of spring break, Alejandro insists on hunting more than usual to build up an underwater cache for later. Noah has to work on overdrive to find enough ships to keep Alejandro happy. He goes to different parts of the lake in order to spread out the location of where the disappearances are happening. Also to keep them as far away from his hometown as possible. He knows this many disappearances so close to one another are going to draw attention from other humans. He doesn't comment on it for two reasons. One, because he'd rather not test Alejandro again even if the concern is practical and legitimate. And two, he wants the disappearances to get attention. He's got to figure out who's smart enough to notice, and vocal enough to try to do something about it.

Noah starts intentionally hanging out by the docks more. He knows it's safe because Alejandro never dares to get that close to civilization. Sailors will sometimes have odd jobs when they need an extra hand on deck or someone to help with loading/unloading. Since everyone knows everyone to some extent in his town, the Mudaliars have a reputation for picking up odd jobs in order to help pay off their debts. Noah's never done it before since he's had his poetry to provide income. But at the very least, it means he can have an excuse for why he's there. It also gives him an excuse for talking with sailors to see what their thoughts are on sea monsters. He doesn't bring up the disappearances himself, because that's inviting trouble. Instead, he lets sailors do what they like to do best: talk.

That's how he finds Chef, a loud ex-marine who found himself kicked from the marines and now works as a sailor taking odd jobs transporting things across the lake. Chef shares that the real reason he got booted out is because he started noticing a bunch of disappearances with other marines. He started hearing tales of beasts and went to go investigate it himself. Sure enough, it was a giant monster making easy pickings of his brothers in arms. His husband knew more about taking those slimy bastards down, so he went to him for help. Eventually they did win, but he lost men doing it, and the beast sunk to the bottom of the ocean, getting rid of their proof. He was tossed out for 'recklessly endangering lives'. (He sacrificed far more men than he truly needed to as a distraction, and didn't even let them know that was going to happen.)Now he's seeing all these disappearances happening and his gut is telling him this is happening again. He doesn't have the same firepower as before, but he and his husband are still preparing.

Noah's now very curious about this husband of his if he's the one who knew more about sea monsters. Chef immediately gets suspicious and wants to know why he cares so much about this. Noah hates having to give up information, but he knows if he's to get anywhere, he's going to have to. He says that he knows for a fact he saw something like a sea monster in the distance. He's just been keeping quiet because he doesn't know who would believe him. Which isn't technically a lie. It just doesn't reveal how much else he knows. It also won't really give Chef any new information since by the sound of it he was already going to prepare regardless of if he got any confirmation from someone else. It's enough to get Chef decide to take him in on his and Chris' monster hunting crusade.

Chris's family are among the humans that believe/know sea beasts exist and make it their job to hunt them, his most notable one being his cousin Jerd.

Chris though? Nah, he doesn't give a shit about hunting. He just cares about fame and fortune. He stole a random ass book that was supposed to have rituals to give him just that and booked it. The pouch around his neck is a result of that in that it's supposed to give him good luck. Someone else in the family made it for him as a rite of passage in being ready to join the family business.

He's pretty shitty at magic because he doesn't want to put in the time and effort to learn, he just wants the results. And this is why he'll forever be shitty at magic. Magic is about intertwining sentience with nature. For that, you need two things: Desire and Effort. The desire has to be focused, and it has to be what a person actually desires. If a person thinks they want one thing, but deep down they really want something else? The magic's either going to act based on the true desire or be fucked up as a result. That's the sentience part.

The nature part is effort. You can't get something for nothing. If you try, someone or something still ends up suffering along the line. There's balance in the ecosystem of the sea, even for those who are at the top of the food chain. It might not be fair to those on the bottom, but it is what it is. Whether you take time and effort in learning runes, or gathering ingredients, the point is that it's your work in a way that you truly know is giving it your all.

Chris has definitely got the desire, and it's why he was able to become famous thanks to his magic pouch. However, he wasn't willing to put any work into actually maintaining the pouch's components so his luck ran out. He keeps it mostly for sentimental reasons at this point. He can't really go back to his family because he stole the book, aka a family heirloom that he knows damn well is dangerous when it's in the wrong hands. (Little does he know his family would have been okay with him leaving the family business. Their problem was with how he did it, which is no one's fault but his own.) He doesn't even know how to read the damn thing because he never paid too much attention to his parents trying to teach him how. All he does know is that it's very powerful, has a mind of its own, and hates Chris because it loves to try to snap closed on him.

So now he's a washed up TV host stuck in this dingy little town. The only person who's still standing beside him is Chef. He runs a stupid little pawn shop in this tourist trap of a town to try to sell fake crap, plus some of his tv host memorabilia. He's trying to find a way out of this mess until what does he see? Evidence that there's a sea monster lurking about.

Chris realizes he could just expose sea monsters to get fame that way. Completely ignoring everything that his parents ever told him that it'd be a terrible idea. Sea monsters would have no reason to hide if they were public knowledge, so their fatality rate would grow exponentially. Still, that's not his problem, and his good luck will ensure that he and his husband will turn out alright.

Chris doesn't quite care for including this walking twig into this situation at first when Chef introduces the two. As far as he's concerned, Noah provides nothing and is a walking liability. Up until Noah reveals that he's able to hack.

His family has a whole library worth of information about sea monsters. In order to try to expand their reach in where they can defend against sea monsters, they've taken to digitizing the library. Thanks to Chris's less than stellar exit, he's been locked out of that information. But he knows how to find it, and Noah seems like he'll be perfect for actually getting in. And hey, the kid's volunteering to do all the boring research? All the better! Chris will focus on strategizing and seeing what this dumb book will do for him. Not that he tells or shows Noah the book. He's lazy, but he's not that dumb to let someone else touch that thing.

This is how Noah starts learning things about merfolk. Turns out they've been around for quite a long time. It turns out merfolk aren't naturally as big as Alejandro. They use magic to make themselves that big. Due to the amount of effort and food to maintain their size, they can't use any other kind of magic when large. Thanks to generations of not using any other kind of magic, they lost the ability to use magic to do anything except change their size over time. That's how they gained their own separate classification as sea monsters. The only exception to size magic they have is using lake/ocean currents to travel. It takes a lot of magic depending on the distance traveled.

Their first meeting is making a lot more sense to Noah.

It also presents an interesting idea. Maybe he doesn't have to kill Alejandro. Maybe he could just stop him from ever growing again.

He knows he should kill Alejandro. He'd never settle for being kept vulnerable for the rest of his life. Noah would have to become his keeper. He'd never get rid of him. And yet. Despite all the murder he's witnessed, helped with, and at least slightly enjoyed, he still hasn't taken a life himself. He really wants to believe he has standards. Killing Alejandro would cross one of those.

It doesn't help that despite how dangerous Alejandro is, and how clearly he's pushing the limits of their deal, Alejandro actually does listen to Noah. He hasn't knowingly gone after innocents. He hasn't physically hurt Noah.

If anything, Alejandro has been gentle. He'll snatch him up when faking his death for a crowd, but he never squeezed and always checked to make sure he was okay afterwards, even when he was trying not to make it too obvious. Alejandro had a horrible habit of messing with his hair yet despite his claws Noah never had a scratch on him. He'd put Noah on his shoulder to go for a swim without getting him wet.

To let him look down at the destruction he helped caused against people who spit and cursed at Noah. To help him feel above others and his actions. To somehow spoil him rotten with attention to practically beg for a reaction. Noah's dark humor as he watched bastards die was to cope, the smirk that grew on his face a coincidence. He felt nothing to hear Alejandro laugh as if they were just sharing a regular meal.

Alejandro had also caressed his throat with a claw the first chance he had power. He had felt a vice like grip when he dared to argue back. So long as Alejandro is huge, Noah is going to be relying on Alejandro's mercy. As recent events have shown, that can be a finite resource.

He'll just do more research to see if his idea is even a workable one. He'll figure what to do next after that.

Researching more about magic led to him learning about a new faction: sea witches. They were merfolk who were able to use magic for means aside from simply changing sizes. They made potions, used rituals, spoke chants. Their powers came primarily from the deals they made with others. There were rumors that deals like these could make magic accessible even to humans. Other rumors said that humans could learn to use magic independently.

Sea witches and sea monsters are naturally at odds with one another. One needs people to make deals, the other needs people to eat. Or at least, to stay as big as they do for as long as they do. Turns out sea monsters can in fact survive without eating humans. It's just that humans keep them bigger for longer. Figures that Alejandro would lie about having to eat people out of necessity.

As a result, sea witches did create defenses against sea monsters. Including spells that would strip them of their magic and force them into their smallest form. Bingo.

Unfortunately, while there are mentions of magic in the database, there don't seem to be any actual spells/rituals there. Something about sea magic not mixing well with technology. He's going to have to ask Chris directly to see if he'll be interested in shrinking Alejandro rather than killing him.

Chris is alright with this because hey, a small merfolk you can put in a tank sounds perfect for exposing and becoming famous! (Not that Noah will actually let Chris take Alejandro away, but he doesn't need to know that.) He'll just have to lie a little to his husband about plans to kill Alejandro, no big deal. And...ugh. He's going to have to actually try to read that magic book to find something about shrinking things. Noah's immediately interested in seeing that book for himself, but Chris shuts him down immediately. Chris will look at the magic shit, Noah will just be the one getting them whatever they need. A coffee would be a great start.

So Noah ends up becoming more like Chris's assistant. He gets used to getting Chris coffee or do the more boring research a lot. Chris uses Chef to get the more out there ingredients for this new ritual he's managed to find. And he starts sending Noah to carve out runes around town. Something about 'using the town's natural magic to siphon that of the sea beast'. Noah would prefer to know exactly what he's doing, but Chris keeps being cagey about Noah having to know things.

During all of this, Noah still has to meet with Alejandro to keep him happy. Thanks to overindulging during spring break, Alejandro's in a much better mood. However, he's being rather clingy with Noah. If Noah didn't know any better, he'd think Alejandro was trying to keep him from being able to have time for anyone else. It makes finding time to work with Chris and Chef a lot more difficult. He can't juggle stroking Alejandro's ego, Chris's ego, and going to classes all at the same time. So he decides to sacrifice going to classes. He'll help Chris and Chef during that time and Alejandro won't question him being away since he knows Noah needs to 'keep up appearances'.

It sucks because after the spring break party, he had actually been considering trying to know some of the others more. If only to take a break from Alejandro. There is one person who won't leave him alone though: Owen. Owen finds out through the grapevine about Noah not showing up to classes and immediately gets to texting to check on him. Noah makes up a lie about not feeling too well/needing to step back, and Owen buys it. Still, now that Noah's responded to one text, Owen takes to texting him throughout the day. Because he was pretty serious about trying to get to know Noah. And Noah would never admit it, but it's nice that someone else cares to check up on him. Plus, Owen is terrible with secrets, so he ends up blurting so much gossip about the others. Noah gets to make sarcastic remarks about them, and Owen just rolls with it. It's nice.

Eventually, Noah's suspicions about Chris outweigh his need to be cautious. So much so that he decides it would be better to try to break in to Chris's and Chef's place to see what exactly this spell book is saying to do rather than just take Chris's word for it.

It's written in a language he doesn't understand. He doesn't have the time to decipher it since he doesn't want Chris or Chef to know that he's in their house looking at it. He does manage to find the pages that Chris has been frequently using, though. They're the only ones that seem to be in English. He's not surprised to learn that Chris has been lying to him about the spell. He's horrified to discover to what extent.

Chris gives absolutely zero shits about this town. He wanted something that would help him take care of this sea monster problem, and he didn't really care how it was done. He practically had to fight the book to show him anything that wasn't in nonsense gibberish. But then, for once in his life, the decided to be book is on the same page as him. It showed him a ritual for mind controlling a sea monster that involves a rather brutal sacrifice of a whole town's worth of people. That sounds like a WAY better deal than regular fame and fortune!

Noah was already not happy when he found out about the mind control. As much as he's worried about his Alejandro, he doesn't know if Alejandro deserves that. Knowing him, he'd probably prefer death rather than being forced to obey someone else. Then Noah reads to the end and discovers the whole 'sacrifice a town' thing. That's what the runes around towns were for.

He'd been putting so much focus into trying to take down the literal monster, he'd forgotten all about how humans could be metaphorical monsters.

Noah knows how to take care of that. It's what he always does when he finds people that deserve to die.

He tells Alejandro about them.

He doesn't reveal the whole plot against Alejandro, of course. He just reveals that some sailors had been getting suspicious with the whole spring break binge eating. He infiltrated them to learn what they knew, and now they're getting too close. He's not sure how much of that Alejandro truly believes, but he does agree that if humans want to hunt him down, then they need to go first.

Noah first makes sure to screw up the ritual by fucking up his own carvings and scratching them out with the knife Chris let him use to do this in the first place. At this point he'd been using it so much it just became a force of habit to keep having it.

Then he goes on a ship with Chris and Chef who thinks that everything is going according to plan. Well, Chris's plan of mind controlling a sea monster, Chef's plan of killing one. What Noah had never told them was that Alejandro was an electric eel. He made sure to encourage Chef to use as much technology as he saw fit in order to leave them completely vulnerable.

Things would have been easier of course if Alejandro didn't decide to gloat about Noah being his loyal little pet when he shows up. Which bothers him both because it ruins the surprise and because it's condescending. This doesn't help things as Chris and Chef are quick to try to spring into action. Chef is trying to solo Alejandro, and Chris is coming at Noah pretty pissed because he's also just now realized that the ritual that should have automatically started taking action hasn't done that at all. Alejandro's occupied because Chef did still come with firepower, and Noah can recognize murder in Chris's eyes.

He's standing over Chris's body now. He knows it's a body because of the blood and the stab wounds. He knows he did it because he's gripping a knife in his hand he doesn't remember pulling out. Chef must be in Alejandro's stomach by now or else Noah would be dead. He can piece together what's happened, but he honestly can't remember the act itself. He knows he had to do it because Chris would have come to kill him first. He hadn't planned on crossing this line but seems like he did anyways.

He loves hates the pride in Alejandro's eyes. The promise that the first can be the hardest. But he's very grateful that Noah had chosen to live.

This isn't living. Rather than process, Noah points out that he's got to go back to Chris and Chef's house to get rid of any evidence that he knew them. After Alejandro takes care of Chris's body, he lets Noah go back to shore.

Noah dashes for the house, goes for the book, and hugs it like his new lifeline. Chris's book is now in Noah's possession. The book is rather content with its new owner. Because it felt Noah's desire to defend himself and his town, and willingness to put effort into doing it. It translated that ritual for Chris specifically to have something like this happen. It won't translate itself again, but if Noah's truly like the book thinks he is, that shouldn't be a problem.

Noah now has an unfiltered shot at evening the playing field with the book of a sea witch. Time to fight fire with fire.

The Mystery of John Burr the Chestnut Man

The Land of Oz is a series with many an obscure characters - most people could probably tell you about Dorothy, the Tin-Man, the Lion, and the Scarecrow, but how many know of Ozma? Or Tik-Tok? What of Professor H.M. Wogglebug T.E.? And that's just scratching the surface, considering there are so many books (around 40 considered "Canonical"), and then beyond that there are characters who pop up in works connected to Oz... and then there's the case of John Burr the Chestnut Man. Who the Hell is he?

Well, first, some context:

In the year 1900, L. Frank Baum published The Wonderful Wizard of Oz, complete with illustrations from W.W. Denslow. Due to their collaborative efforts on the book, it was agreed that both men should have the rights to the characters and various elements within the first book. This arrangement may sound a bit unusual, but really it should be fine as long as Denslow and Baum don't have some sort of falling out.

Guess what happened in 1902 while they were working on the Wizard of Oz Stage Musical?

So, Denslow and Baum went their separate ways, with Baum going on to write "The Marvelous Land of Oz", while Denslow continued illustrating for books such as "The Pearl and the Pumpkin". He also worked on a small book called "Denslow's Scarecrow and the Tin-Man", featuring a short story about the duo getting into some hijinx after deciding they were tired of working endlessly on the Wizard of Oz stage show - I'm sure he wasn't working through anything there.

Around the time Marvelous Land got published, he also worked on a newspaper series called "Queer Visitors from the Marvelous Land of Oz" which served both to promote the sequel and increase the reach of the Oz brand. It's also one of the few remaining artefacts of a time when Baum really wanted Professor Wogglebug to be the mascot of the Oz series, but that's a discussion for another time.

Denslow sees this and thinks "Well, I'll show him! I'll make my own newspaper series!" and so we got Denslow’s Scarecrow and the Tin-Man (yes he used the same name as he did for the book - he also split that book into two halves and published them in the newspaper series, so that’s confusing). Unlike Baum's strip, this series mainly stuck to the events of the 1902 stage musical, so Dorothy never left Oz and is also referred to as Dorothy Gale (a name Baum wouldn't use in prose until Ozma of Oz) or Dotty (her show-exclusive nickname). The first story also makes reference to a Good Witch covering the poppy field with snow, which didn't happen in the book but did happen in the musical. Other than this though, they keep references deliberately vague - no mention is made of King Pastoria II, Cynthia Synch, or Dorothy’s pet cow, Imogene (who replaces Toto in the stage musical - similarly, this series makes no reference to Toto). It’s interesting to see an Oz-related work be influenced by a very popular adaptation other than the MGM movie.

Okay, but who is John Burr the Chestnut Man?

John Burr is introduced in the second story in the Scarecrow and Tin-Man series, and immediately he raises questions. Apparently, he's the Fairy Godfather of the Scarecrow (which possibly links him to the Scarecrow's 1902 musical origin wherein he comes to life because Dorothy wished for a friend, but this isn't made explicit) and possibly the Tin-Man. It's not clear. The Scarecrow and the Tin-Man are joined at the hip for most of this series though, so it hardly matters. In his first appearance, he transports the Scarecrow, Tin-Man, and the Cowardly Lion down to Earth, making him one of the most powerful characters in the series at this point.

Later in the series, he hands the Scarecrow and the Tin-Man "Magic Passes" because nobody will tell these poor guys how money works, so they just keep stealing things (relatedly, the Scarecrow and the Tin-Man book I mentioned earlier where they're performing in the musical mentions that the two just aren't paid for their work... again, I'm sure Denslow wasn't working through anything there)... and that's it. That's all we know of him. He enters the narrative, fulfils this oddly powerful role for someone who isn't even hinted at in anything prior and is then forgotten about entirely.

Also, he sells chestnuts, that's why he's the chestnut man.

[Honestly, the funniest thing about this whole situation to me is that Denslow's Scarecrow and the Tin-Man series is just significantly better than Queer Visitors from the Marvelous Land of Oz - better art and the writing is just very charming - both are probably equally racist though, so be warned if you want to seek these out].

Qi and names

A really, really random thing I've been noticing as I'm doing a second playthrough: Qi almost never calls anyone by just their name. Unless he's talking directly to someone, he almost always uses a title or a stand-in...nickname? Epithet? Not sure what to call it.

[VERY long post below, contains some act 2 and mild act 3 spoilers]

Grace: The frycook

Elsie: The rancher's daughter/ranch girl

[pardon the text mine, i don't have screenshots of some of the act 3 quotes and it's not up on the wiki yet]

Catori: The entrepreneur

Justice: The sheriff

Also combined with Unsuur: The lawmen

Pen: The homunculus man

Yan: "Your director"

X: The bird

Bronco the Kid: "The person seeking Logan"

Pablo: "Our local barber"

Here are the ones with titles:

Trudy: Mayor Trudy (but also sometimes just "Mayor" or even "Trudy")

Fang: Dr. Fang

Nia: Assistant Nia

You/the builder: Earlier in the game/at lower relationship levels, he'll only call you "Builder". But later on, he'll always use your builder's name.

And last but not least, those who Qi always refers to by name:

Mint (but he also calls him Sleepyhead, of course)

Zeke

Logan

Matilda (though she's only ever referred to once and she's been de facto stripped of her minister title at this point, so I'll gloss over her)

So uh...what's the takeaway? Well, I think it's an insight to Qi's idea of respect. All the people in the first section have nicknames, which are mostly light jabs at their character/job.

Contrast to the people in the second and third sections. If they have an established title of authority, he'll use it. And for those he refers to by name directly, it's someone he personally respects. Think about it:

Trudy is the mayor, the highest authority in town (and also probably singlehandedly responsible for his funding lol)

Qi's no quiet admirer of Fang's work, as shown by their few interactions

He respects Zeke as a fellow man of science, and a very persistent one at that

Nia is part of academia, advised by a reputable professor

Mint is obvious; he's his closest friend

And you! Take another look at his dialogue with you as it progresses through the main quest, especially after you build the mobile suit. He comes to respect you and your work.

Logan is an interesting exception, but I picked the above quote for a reason. I think he knows straight off the bat that the Logan situation is more complicated than other people say, and he sympathizes with him a little bit (even though he'll promptly hole himself up again and keep working after any Logan event happens).

I made another very long post a while back that touched on why Qi insists on being called "Director" all the time, and I think that's only compounded by this. It's a golden rule type situation, yk? You respect his titles, work, and time, and he'll do the same to you.

ETA: you could also interpret this as Qi viewing people as their occupations first. He's not the most sociable person in town, and he'd like to keep it that way (maybe). So he keeps a veneer of over-professionalism on by default.

Why is the Jorunal's Form Exactly Riku?

Discussion/Recoded Novel analysis of Riku

It's funny how the journal choose Riku as the form because he must have been that important.

Riku stated at the end how everything Sora does was reflected in the journal and that he was the center of it. When he grew, so did the heartless. So the journal probably picked someone with that much of an impact or importance to him.

I noticed in recoded novel it states this,

"Of all the vessels to protect the data, I was chosen from the journal’s pages. The full set of memories was transferred inside me to shield them from corruption.”

It could have chosen anyone but it chose Riku. Why? He must been very important to Sora and important part of something.

The novel then states, So this Riku was Riku, but also not Riku? A vessel that stored the set of memories within the journal? For a vessel, though, he sure seemed to have a will, a purpose—a mind. Did it come from Riku himself? Or was it the “mind” of the scattered memories inside him? Or maybe it was even the mind of someone connected to the memories within the journal…?

Therefore he isn't the Riku they know but someone similar who has the thoughts and feelings of him but also has the knowledge of the events within the journal.

And that's basically all the explanation on who the journal is and why he is Riku.

I mean going through all the games you can tell how much they care and impact the other. Several times they sacrificed for the other and have a deep complicated relationship. It's no wonder Riku is that important to Sora. Riku even states to call him "Taisetsunahito" which is translated as the things that matter, but a better translation would be precious person or most important person.

Later in the Novel when Riku's voice is heard in basically the intercom, he stated “Is that…? Riku, is that you?” Sora called excitedly.

He heard a little chuckle from Riku before he asked a question of his own.

He is excited that it's Riku. Riku even laughs/smiles at his words. They both have a care for the other so it makes sense why the journal choose Riku.

Earlier before realizing the mysterious cloak person was Journal Riku he wondered where Riku was.

The novel states,

Dewey looked up at Sora and said while they walked, “You’re pretty tough, huh?”

“Not really. I’ve got a friend who’s even tougher.”

Actually, what did happen to Riku…?

And this shows he still is thinking about him.

And it kinda makes me think is journal Riku memories + journal knowledge the merged into one being?

Unless it's part of the glitches?

But most people that are missing were shown in another way or form. The only one that isn't really shown is Kairi and I wonder if it's because Naminé made him forget her along with parts of Riku and the journal is still recovering from that. Because not only did he forget who he was trying to find in COM and Repliku realizes it, but he then believed it was Naminé he was trying to find instead.

Is that why Riku is also not shown except through the Journal because of the events of COM?

Now Kairi is mentioned once in the castle oblivion portion by an (illusion) Riku and shows him with Kairi when he was trying to find her heart.

However some people seem to think Sora and Kairi have a more romantic relationship now if you think that you're completely valid and I'm not going to debunk the ship. But if that is the case, why was Riku chosen? Shouldn't be Kairi if they have a greater connection?

Maybe it's cause Sora and Riku also have a greater history and relationship as we're shown through the games. They spent more time with the other, even thinking about the other.

Sora at the end of kh1, the first thing he does is he wants to find Riku and during KH2 he wants to find Riku... He missed him.

He goes on his knees crying when he sees him again

Later during the novel, Riku gets captured after defending Sora and Sora says this once he encounters Pete:

"Not so fast! First, hand over Riku…or else.” Sora readied his Keyblade, too.

Sora is here ready to protect and save his friend. He sees him as his friend— not just a journal full of data like him— and his memories clearly show the Riku he knows. He acts like Riku does and they clearly have a deep connection to each other.

The novel states this:

"Stay back, Sora! Hrrrngh!”

Sora was about to run over to him, but he stopped at Riku’s warning. His friend’s face was twisted in agony.

“Riku? Wha…what’s wrong?”

Sora refers to him as his friend. And everyone calls him Riku despite not being really the Riku from data, he among some others are gone. He's only there because the journal decided to take form into the one thing that's probably important. Pete was trying to force Riku to fight Sora and he doesn't want to. In fact he is afraid he could hurt him or anyone so he tells Sora to destroy him.

After fighting Riku this happens,

"Sora! Riku!” Mickey and the others appeared from the beam. “Well, if the bugs have taken over Riku…then that means…he might not ever wake up—unless we get rid of the bugs first,” the king explained, gazing at Riku in concern.

“So if I debug him, Riku will come back to us. Guys, I gotta go inside to look,” Sora said with unwavering determination as he knelt down beside his friend.

Sora is that concerned for his friend. He is everything to him. They have a deep connection. His determination to help is right there. He doesn't care if it may be dangerous, he wants to anyways. Riku having the journal data within him gets bugged as they put it. And the way to reconstruct and figure out the mysteries of the journal is to restore the glitches and bugs within the deep data inside of him.

This next scene shows there care for each other again,

It was like the energy had been sucked right out of him. What just happened?

“Sora! You okay?” Riku came running up.

“Riku! What about you? Are you all right?”

Sora was still worried for his friend, though his legs were so wobbly he could barely stand.

Riku gave him a small nod in reply. “You shouldn’t be here. I can fight the bugs off a little longer…but they’re spreading. Pretty soon they’ll take over all my data.”

Despite how it hurts Sora, he is still caring for Riku. He put his own needs of wanting to help Riku above his own. The bugs are taking over his data of the journal. Here he refers to that as my data. However, it is vague. He could be talking about his general data as a data Riku— not the journal part of him, but he also could be referring to the journal parts of him. The next time when he mentions the journal knowledge he doesn't say my.

In fact it shows another thing I've been wondering. He gives Sora an item that can help him escape. It is extra data. Riku then explains it as,

“Data I found on my other partition. It doesn’t belong in Jiminy’s journal. Somebody added it after the fact.”

Riku refers to the journal as another entity that isn't himself unless he's talking in third person. He acts like he is two beings when he says my other partition and says Jiminy's Journal.

The novel continues, “The same person that hid the journal’s contents inside you?”

Journal Riku is in fact regular Riku but merged with Journal information and data. Some unknown force hid the contents of the journal inside himself that means because of the missing memories of Castle Oblivion had affected it in some way.

DiZ or Naminé could have chosen Riku because they saw how much he wanted to bring Sora back, but that person also hid some extra data too. But we know that DiZ hid extra data of himself in DDD within Sora.

However, this game is about Naminé and she appears at the end as a data form. It would make the most sense that her real form probably put this data version of her inside the journal along with added extra data. She is probably the other who put the journal's contents inside of Riku.

Riku then wants to sacrifice himself and he believes doing that will be fine because it won't affect the journal data if Sora figures out the mystery of the extra data.

Riku doesn't want to leave him behind, he sees him as his friend.

Sora grins as he shows a solution where he can save his friend. This almost surprises Riku as he flinched like it wasn't what he had in mind. Sora had a long face as if Riku always try to do things by himself and is tired of it.

This makes Riku then smile.

They hold hands together and it helps show their connection is strong. Their friendship is complicated and they mean so much to the other. He didn't have to offer his hand, but he does. They're friends who mean a lot and he wants to be there with him to share the moment.

However Riku says something else.

“That light over there leads deeper into my data. Inside is a world from my memories…”

“Your memories?”

“Yeah, that’s right. The memories of the data version of me. And some of the bugs that stole your data. Get the data back, get your powers back. It’s simple. Then you can worry about me. Be careful.”

Earlier he stated he wasn't Riku, he was just zeros (probably referring to data) and was the journal. Then it was stated someone put the journals info inside him. And now it shows memories of a data version of him. Like there is actually another Riku from data out there. It says all these different things.

So what exactly is this Riku?

But he is clearly a mixed of the two. He has memories of Riku and his personality is like him, he just has all the journal's data inside him and it is as if someone put it there.

Unless by data version of him, Riku means a data version that gone through the events of what he did in kh1? The scene also shows that Riku wants Sora to gain his strength back and worries about him more than himself being fine.

"I can access this world now that you’ve weakened the bugs. It’s our island…” Riku took in the view of the sea.

Riku says this like it's a memory for him that he shared with Sora. It is like he is a Riku who did experienced growing up there and probably have the memories of KH1 inside him and what he did.

Another point he says this,

Sora let out a heavy sigh. Some things never change. “Riku, you always try to take everything on by yourself,” he said, and Riku looked up. “But I like getting dragged into your messes. Donald and Goofy said the same thing to me—"

He sees how Riku is always trying to do things by himself. He cares for him and wants to help. He wants to protect him too so he doesn't have to face it alone, but together.

I know Riku didn't have anyone to help him deal with all this complicated stuff back then, but he's not alone anymore. That's why it makes me sad to hear him talk about doing everything by himself. I mean, it kinda starts to feel like I'm the only one who thinks we're friends.

At this part, I think he is referring to how Sora didn't know back then when Riku was trying to figure out everything himself. However, I also think it could also refer to what Riku did during kh1 events. But Sora is sad how Riku is because he really wants to help him and Riku is almost not letting him.

Sora then tells him to stop saying sorry,

Even after all this, Riku was still downcast.

“Can you blame me? I shouldn’t have let the bugs in like this. Every time it’s me against some outside force, I give in and—” Riku gazed at the palm of his hand.

What makes this scene so good is that he seems to have knowledge of all the events to happen like maybe what happens in kh1 and is reflecting on what he did. But like in kh2 he doesn't care he just wants his friend and he wants to stop apologizing for every little thing.

I also noticed he looks at the palm of his hand when thinking about something important. Here he is sad about it, but in 3 he looks at his hand when he thinks of important Sora is to him.

I added this section because I liked how they talked about going through the worlds together. Unlike any of the other games they actually go through some of the world together. Even if it brief and in these little moments of restoring his strength, they still do it.

Sora thinks his Riku being worried is unlike him— probably because he has the cool facade in the first game where he tries to act better than Sora but in fact he actually really cares and is worried for him.

Oh now they're just flirting. They have a strong connection with other. They are just teasing and messing with the other. Sora helps him feel better about everything— how he was almost taken over by bugs or perhaps how the real Riku got taken by darkness? (Not sure if he knows that or not??).

He helps him see how everything makes Riku stronger no matter what— we all need a Sora in our life. I also love their joking and laughing here, it's cute.

And they're just both smiling and the way Riku said thanks like "th-thanks" he's probably blushing. He teases Sora about being short and Sora confidently assures him he will be taller than him one day. It's cute. They're so close. They have an unbreakable connection and to each other and they clearly are each other's precious person.

Once he back out of the deep data in Riku, Sora instantly wondering where Riku is. He is thinking he better made it back or none of it would have been worth it.

He is that important to him and it makes sense why the journal or whoever choose him as the form.

Riku even offers him his hand. I love these two. They're so connected on do many ways.

Finally near the end of the game Riku asks Sora what does he and Kairi have in common, he says it's hurt.

He tells him that Sora always try to help and make things better.

But Riku and Sora seemingly have a stronger connection and it's probably the reason why Riku had the journal information put inside him. Even after data Sora forgot everything, Riku still remembers because of this factor.

So to answer the question Why is the Journal data and form Riku—

That's because they have a deep and complicated connection filled with so many feelings and memories. And the time Riku was with Naminé and DiZ, they both could see that and inputted this into the Journal's data somehow.

Post Note: I personally don't like him forgetting even though he says memories may be gone but the heart will still remember. For me if he forgets the memories, the feeling of hurt is worse when you don't know. Sometimes remembering can help even if it may be painful. I feel like it would have a better affect. But the whole reason it is that way is to mimick both kh1 and com.

saw the 'bother with asks and questions' post and reblogged it so a lil obligated to BE THE CHANGE I WANT TO SEE. I appreciate a fellow yautja appreciator that is for sure. I didn't watch the latest movie, if you did, how would you compare it to any of the other predator (or AVP) films? I'm taking my sweet time, but good press from someone who is focused on whats important (tHE BIG ALIEMS,,,), might move it up my priority list.

I get you! We gotta be the change we want to see! I myself went out and asked some folks things. 😊

As for your question concerning “Prey”, in comparison to the others in the franchise it stands out for multiple reasons.

1. It’s not set in the modern era.

With this film not being in modern times, we get to explore, for the first time on film, what a predator hunt in the past would look like! It’s no longer just seeing their historical hunts in the comics and novels, which has long been something we fans have wanted to see on the big screen. “Prey” also answers questions concerning historical hunts.

How different would their technology look and behave? Would they get tangled with historical events that shaped the future? What would they do in the face of long outdated weapons of that time?

“Prey” answers these pretty well, I think!

We get to see possible earlier iterations of the iconic weapons Yautja are associated with, we get to see how one becomes entangled with big historical events in pre-colonial North America, and also get the treat of one dealing with 17th century weapons.

The weapons of the time provide a few genuinely funny moments that help break the tension a little. I won’t spoil them, but I’m sure they’ll give you a good laugh!

I will say that it’s not riddled with excessive humor like 2018’s “The Predator”. There is a wonderful balance.

2. The lead isn’t some forgettable buff military guy and instead a Comanche Native American woman.

Unlike other current Hollywood female leads, she’s a genuine bad ass. She’s allowed to learn and grow from her mistakes, shaping up to use her intelligence against Feral. Naru knows the land and uses it to her advantage. She grew up surrounded by nature and picks up that something weird is going on, something she can’t explain until things happen.

Sorry, no spoilers here!

While there are moments where there is obvious plot armor, she still a cool and likable character with flaws but manages to also be a surprisingly worthy hunt for Feral. It’s also cool to see Indigenous representation and see a glimpse into that culture! We see parallels between a cryptid (can’t confirm if it was just for the movie or actual mythology for that tribe) and our titular Yautja.

With Naru, we get a coming of age story that mirrors Feral in this hunt being his first time on our planet and him slowly learning more about this hunting ground. They’re both, seemingly, out to prove themselves, setting up for later events in the film that pay off.

3. New Sub-Species of Yautja!

Thanks to Feral we get a glimpse of what a Yautja who originates from a different region, other than the jungle, of the planet looks like, with this case being a desert environment. While I think the facial design is atrocious, I can see what they were going for.

We learned from interviews with the design team that his sub-species consumes bones and has a special palette just for that in his mouth. His locs are slender and more numerous in order to keep cool, plus it looks pretty cool! I’m sure he’d be a shampoo company’s dream model!

You get to see a predator actually hunt things other than humans! I won’t spoil it, but there are some awesome scenes that really showcase the strength and agility that Yautja are known for but we hardly get to see. It’s pretty bad ass!

In “Prey”, we also see a more brutal predator who revels in bloodshed and fucks people up. There’s more violence on display, plus some new cool weaponry that only aids the carnage. While he gives off Young Blood energy occasionally, he’s still a bad ass! When he’s on the screen, he commands your attention!

However, he’s the only Yautja I’ll want the mask to stay on. He’s not a pretty fella and I liken him to a golden roast chicken.

“Prey” was the return to form the franchise needed after the questionable decisions made in 2018’s “The Predator”. Whoever thought that Yautja would be interested in my Autism was a big dumb ass. This film breathes new life into the franchise and gives us something genuinely entertaining while also bringing back some of the terror that the original 1987 “Predator” gave us!

I personally rank this high up on the list of previous films we’ve received over the years. It’s better than “Predators”, “The Predator”, and “AVPR”, sitting right with the OG, Predator 2, and AVP for me.

It’s worth the watch. It’s not a 10/10, more like an 8/10, but it’s still worth the watch! You should run to Hulu and give it a go. You won’t be disappointed!

Oh! Last thing!

On a scale of 1 to 10, Feral is a solid four for me. His body is gorgeous. Those thick fingers? HELLO!

Given how “unique” a Miku concert would be I’m surprised Crypton themselves didn’t send some team members or equipment personally to make sure things are set up right bc other than some performers that might hide their face/wear disguises idk how many usual concert locations have something prepped for “holo” projections compared to Japan and their Vtuber boom (although I’d rather buy a plushie from a booth but hopefully at least the theatres would have good sound quality)

Sucks for any workers scrambling and getting hate/hope it doesn’t affect the sales of any other indie ppl performing their concerts

The weird thing is it worked before. I went to miku Expo 2018 in cologne and 2020 in Berlin. Both times it was an actual hologram concert with the same band as magical Mirai. Neither of these two locations had a concert like this before, I'm pretty sure. All of the equipment must've been toured around with thew Miku Expo crew. Going against advertising and expectations (basically all of these concerts, and like all of them in recent years were holographic) without notifying buyers beforehand and also not even afterwards when people keep asking is, to put it lightly, customer unfriendly at best and a scam at worst.

I arrived a bit late in 2018 since I only had standard so I don't know how it was there, but in 2020 people went around giving out free stickers and badges, or general stuff they got from other miku events. One of them seemed to be a huge meiko fan so when she gifted me something I gave her the meiko badge I got from the random gacha button bags. Stuff like that really made it feel like a community coming together, so reading that giving out badges, stickers, etc. wasn't allowed this year, even for people who specifically got an okay from cfm and also got their stuff stolen from is surreal.

I had vip in 2020 and as far as I know everyone got their vip merchandise, which doesn't seem to be the case this year, which makes no sense because you would know how many people at this location have the vip ticket. Another thing I read is that vip ticket holders were supposed to be let in earlier for merchandise and the concert hall but it didn't happen, which also worked flawlessly before in my experience.

Merchandise being not enough for everyone is sadly not new, I was in line for it in 2018 and when I was three people away the store people shouted they were all sold out, which was very much a bummer but I thankfully bought the penlight and t-shirt beforehand in the online store so it wasn't too bad for me and as I said I was quite late to the so definitely in the latter half of the people that got in. Still should've been more but I would chalk it up to being the first concert in Europe and them not having expected such a huge crowd maybe. How this is still the case 6 years later and in America where there were concerts way before 2018 is beyond me.

I don't know if this is because of crunchyroll (it probably is tho) but I can't say cfm is innocent either since they partnered with them and it's their job to ensure everything is up to standard, which clearly didn't happen.

For me, I was really happy to hear there was going to be a Europe one again, especially since I really loved it, it is such a magical experience so the last year's being online only made me super sad since it isn't the same in the slightest, but seeing it's also partnered with crunchyroll I decided against it. It's because I loved it so much that it really saddens me to see what is currently going on (also probably why I wrote so much, very sorry). Miku Expo is one of the best, magical and insane events you can go to as a vocaloid/piaproloid fan and I wish for all fans, people who've been in the Fandom longer and already have been to Miku Expo, and newer fans that didn't have the chance yet, to have that same experience but this is not it. This being someone's first miku expo experience is just a sad thing to think about considering what a massive downgrade the experience is. I hope there will be official statements soon and that the people who are currently experiencing it still have a good time.

even though i suppose it doesn't matter, now i'm wondering which songs (if any) were actually written in 2022 - or if any were started in 2022, as notes app ramblings or sketches, that wouldn't become what they became until the events of 2023. just curious that she highlighted this project being 2 years in the making (double album clue?? lol) when so many seem like they couldn't have happened until That Summer

anyway, i'm looking at rough drafts of the manuscript or the albatross, maybe, as being potentially earlier written but without the point/purpose that 2023 would later bring? would be sort of interesting if all four bonus tracks were some of the earliest songs, although i'm not sure if that makes sense either. just thoughts!

i'd be curious to know this too but i am also pretty certain we'll never find out lol

I say OFFICIALLY because age-of-moon knight found a much earlier issue where Mr Knight sort of appeared off handedly in some random issue.

But officially, you'd need to read anything 2014 onwards to get actual Mr. Knight.

You see, after that, who could resist putting that beautiful suit in their art?

I have my sources that atempts to list all the comics MK has ever apeared in, but even they are limited.

There are side things like "Original Sin event", but we all know how I feel about marvel events… (BOOOOO).

Then there's Deadpool's secret secret wars, but I can't tell you how prominantly MK, much less Mr. Knight appears in that either.

Of course we then jump right into All-New, All Different Marvel with Lemire's run. (2016-2017 and he isn't in any background comics at this time).

Smallwood slaps that scrunkle and suit together like it was made to be.

we aren't going to talk about Marvel Legacy which came right after. (I have a HUGE project I'm working on right now that's taking up a lot of painful time regarding Marvel Legacy run… Expect that to start coming otu soon. I'm sorry.)

BUT. During Legacy, we did see him start to pop up in other comics more.

Like the Marvel Comics Presents (2019) #4: This Benjamin Percy story is billed as “what happened next” after Marc “went completely insane and disappeared.”

Then there's Marvel Knights 2018 (not sure if he's Mr. Knight here… Maybe appears in like a page or two?).

Then we skip Age of Khonshu for reasons I've already ranted about…

As for music recommendations? I'm really bad at music recommendations. It really depends on what you like. Anyone want to sound off in the comments on what they listen to while reading Moon Knight?

I like Leonard Cohen if I'm feeling mellow. He's got an amazing old New York quality to his voice and he basically wrote poetry that he turned into songs about his experiences with love, life, being Jewish, and his experiences.

I also pop in songs that get mentioned in the comic, like "The Killing Moon" by Echo and the Bunnymen... Which Marc made into his alarm clock. And it also makes me think that Marc likes that style of music so I slap that playlist up on YouTube and let it go.

And that leads me down to The Cure, Depeche Mode, and Duran Duran for some reason.

Maybe it's because that was the age that Marc kinda grew up in, depending on what run you are reading.

A/n: this might be bad I'm apologizing right now I'm still getting used to writing both Gareth and Eddie, this is also a semi-fix if fic and happens a year after Vecna where Gareth is senior and 18 the reader is a year older than him at 19 and Eddie is 22.

You were finally off work for the Friday night leaving your job to go to the 7/11 you browse the aisles for m&m’s for Eddie and gummy worms for Gareth. While in the almost empty convenient store you decide that you might as well get a Slurpee grabbing a cup and filling it up mixing the flavors and heading to the front grabbing a case of Dr. Pepper.

Getting to the register you talked to Ms. Darner the nice old lady who worked there on Friday nights.

“Hello Y/n late night,” she said cheerily.

“yeah finally got this Saturday off,” you say as she scans your items.

“That's good dear bringing this to your boyfriend?” she always assumed you had one which you don't blame her most people had thought you were with Eddie and you don't blame her while Gareth was at school finishing his senior year you and Eddie would be seen together.

“Yeah we’re having a movie night tomorrow,” you say grabbing your wallet.

“Ah well I hope you have a good day off,” she replies smiling at you.

“Thank you,” you grabbed the bag and started leaving the 7/11.

The quick shopping run left you to think about what would have happened if Eddie hadn't survived the events of senior year and what would you be doing now. The dark thinking causes you to shake your head preferring not to think about what could have happened if Steve Nancy and Robin hadn't killed Vecna.

you arrive after 20 mins of driving from the convenience store. getting out of your truck with the paper bags making your way threw the door struggling with the bags in your arms

“With your current findings, the body of the mysterious magic user you had talked to earlier. You can either mention it to the rest of the party or allow them to continue,” Eddie's voice with an eerie tone fills your ears.

“Do I gain anything from telling them,” Erica said ”I don't know! us knowing about a dead body” Gareth said from the front of the table.

Eddie’s eyes follow you threw the door. the convo between the senior and middle schooler

“Hi Y/n,” they both said

“hey, guys don't mind me continuing with your session,” you say smiling at the group trying to juggle bags and a Slurpee and putting the cans in the fridge.

Grabbing the last can of Dr. Pepper you go over to the table set up in the living room of the trailer. you grab the mountain dew sat in front of Gareth and replace it with Dr. Pepper. making him look up and smile and look at you. You give him a quick peck and move over to Eddie and place the can of mountain dew over in front of him while also grabbing the empty cans you go to walk away before Eddie grabs your arm leaning up to press his lips to yours softly it was quick but still filled with passion.

Gareth continued arguing about the morality of leading the group to possible death.

“Technically you don't know shit cause I'm not gonna tell the group we’ll probably be fine anyway,” leaving Gareth to glare at the girl from across the table.

You threw the cans away and looked for the Oreos you left at Eddies hoping that they would still be there looking in the hiding spot you left them finding them to be gone. you were surely going to bring it up to Eddie later. Your sure he probably ate them while high and having the munchies? You sat on the moved couch watching the session go on for about another hour before some of the younger kids had to be taken home.

“Do you guys need a ride,” you said with a yawn. getting up and stretching.

“No we biked here well just bike home,” Mike said

The idea of that happening didn't sit well with you knowing how weird Hawkins could be at night people tending to go missing even tho Vecna was dead the anxiety did sit well in your stomach “why don't you put them in the back truck I can drive you home.” you said your voice laced with exhaustion.

“I can make sure they get some” Jeff offered probably able to tell you were tired from work.

Your willing to agree with that everyone leaving you saying bye to them as you close and lock the door as Eddie cleans the table and puts it away helping you move the couch.

“So how was work,” he asked looking over at you as you move across the room to him.

Leaving you to let out an exhausted grown into his shoulder as you wrap your arms around his waist

“It was interesting got some orders for some cakes with like peoples odd ass names or sayings” you mumbled into his shoulder from behind. Gareth was changing into some pj’s

“If I see another Karen I'm going to scream,” you said leaving Eddie to laugh.

“I mean like half the moms here are named Karen,” Eddie said

“Trust me I know,” as you were talking to Eddie, Gareth came out of the bathroom in some red plaid PJ bottoms and a grey shirt.

“Gar did you pick up the movies for tomorrow”

“Sure did, all ready for tomorrow ” you let go of Eddie to wrap your arms around Gareth kissing him sweetly fingers grazing his sides

“Well see what you picked out tomorrow… you didn't choose only horror movies right?” you say after pulling away

“….”

“Right?” the shorter brown haired didn't answer simply looking at you with his lips pressed to a thin line not looking you in the eye

you let out a sigh “it's fine I kinda expected that would happen” you give a light chuckle kissing his cheek

“Okay I'm honestly exhausted and unless you two want me to drop dead right here then, let's head to be” Eddie made sure to lock the doors and turn the lights off as you and Gareth head to his bedroom. you laid down arms wrapped around Gareth and in his hair messaging his scalp as Eddie came in tried to quickly change and lay down and wrapping his arms around you and burying his face in your shoulder, the feeling of closeness between the 3 of you was comforting

“I love you both” left your mouth before falling asleep.

About Various Unsubstantiated Accusations , CrunchyCrowe / CrunchyCaws PROOF / CONTEXT

Firstly, Posting this just so I have somewhere to link people who bring it up, and tumblr is a place that wont limit my response, and have people only reply to single out of context tweets. - which is what started this whole thing in the first place. This is about accusations that are at time of writing, years old, but still crop up in my day-to day, because the rumors keep ruminating and self-sustain in their own echo chambers as fact, without a DIRECT and VERY VISABLE response. Also, people who I have blocked on twitter, can see this if they choose to.

Originally, I considered one out of context tweet not worth making any kind of deal out of, and id just block people who took a very incorrect and disingenuous read of my words. But it spiraled into serious accusations of my character with little more than "Crunchy supports this thing and is a bad person" When there is not a single screenshot of me saying anything of the sort, because I did not, and I assumed that with people taking time to read, it would straighten itself out. I was wrong.

If someone won't take the time to read my side of the issue, then I would argue that they are not someone to trust with serious accusations, as they are someone who won't look at the source, and therefore, won't know enough about me or the situation, to hurl serious accusations.

I apricate that fandoms these days want everyone to be the best versions of themselves, and thrive for accountability.

It's annoying that the flip side of that coin is when people are wrong. A harmful / untrue rumor will stick to someone forever, and actively muddle the water for everyone: the people that did the accusing, the person accused, and any actual victims that need the support and to be believed.

Believe victims, reserve judgement for people saying things without clear proof because it's cool to be the call-outer.

I always have, and will apologize and admit when I'm wrong and correct myself, in every event that happens. I did so recently on a sketchbook I took too long to deliver, immediately corrected my actions, and hired a manager to make sure everything STAYED right going forward, and the same issue would not repeat itself. Earlier AND later in this post, I even admit I'm wrong, multiple times, over multiple things, openly. I will own up to my incorrect actions in every case it happens. Because It happens, people are wrong sometimes, and doubling down on being wrong is not a mature course of action. I find it frustrating that that's what I'm running into with my accusers, simply because they don't want to be wrong.

I have an ACTIVE track record of APOLOGIZING AND MAKING THINGS RIGHT.

If someone is out there claiming I'm actively causing any harm, or am a bad person in some way, ask for the evidence. ask to see victims stories, and support the people who need that support to be made whole.

I WILL POST, SUPPORT, APOLOGIZE, AND MAKE RIGHT - /ANYTHING/ - IVE ACTUALLY DONE.

I DON'T SUPPORT HEARSAY. That's the thing I said that made everyone upset. I get that on the internet, especially in younger circles it's not a popular opinion. Cool, I'll take that criticism, and continue not spreading things I might be unsure of. Scandalous.

I made a vague post about the FURRY FANDOM.

EVERY "PROOF" of me supporting X, Y, or Z, is all circumstantial and bookended with the logical fallacy of applying emotional manipulation, and putting the burden of proof on me, which if you don't know what those are - APPEAL TO EMOTION and BURDEN OF PROOF <- Click them and learn! I am trying to refute everything I can, with as much evidence and context as possible, without appealing to anyone's emotions to the best of my ability.

People thought i was talking about a warriorcat event, when I haven't been active in the fandom for over 10 years. I got dragged in because someone else who followed me, who was STILL IN warriors, applied my words to something i had little to no context for and was not apart of. This original post where I was QRT'd (not by the later mentioned call-outer, who is the continuing problem, by someone I'm on fine terms with) in relation to the situation in the FIRST place- was deleted, because the original poster realized they had made a mistake in dragging me into something I had nothing to do with, apologized, and we are chill with each other.

This shouldn't be an issue.

This was an "if the shoe fits" post. I was not speaking on the situation, but someone put the shoe on, and was upset that the shoe did not fit. ??? ?? ?

I never have and never will make posts about situations i do not have full context and information for. This goes directly against what I believe to be right, you wont catch me doing it. So I would have NEVER commented specifically on a situation in a fandom I haven't participated in in years.

The callout post itself (posted a bit farther down) is making accusations of me blocking for reasons that are entirely ASSUMED, and assumed very incorrectly. I have people blocked ENTIRLEY for how they choose to interact with things online, pet peeves in how they interact with social media, certain fandoms, or characters as WHOLE that I find personally /literally/ triggering, and people that reply without reading the full thread. If you agree with the below, call-out narrative, then I know i can't and won't try change your mind. I know that kind of person probably haven't even read this far, and if you have read this far, you are not the kind of person I am referring to. If i was intense at them, or anyone at the time, I DO RIGHT HERE APOLOGISE FOR MY TONE. I did at the time, react emotionally because they came out with attacks and accusations, instead of asking me what I meant. When I tried to clarify my words, they just, wouldn't believe me. Ironic at best, hypocritical at worst, coming from someone asking to be believed at their word, not believing my word. I took actions and made blocks that were fueled by frustration, that was wrong of me, and for that, I am truly sorry, I'm not just saying that. I have no problem saying my past actions could have been more in tune with the very emotional and intense subject matter at hand, regardless of how blind sighted I was by it. I have since every day tried my best to not let this kind of thing happen again, culminating in this post, where I both apologize for my behavior, but am going to discredit allegations against me that do not have proof. You can see I even unblocked them at the time, ( And currently have them unblocked) so that I could reply to try to be VERY CLEAR that this is not what my original post is about, and to dispel any worry, but I only got double downed on when i tried to explain that it was indeed, just a misreading of my words. They also accused me of Liking things I DO NOT SUPPORT OR PARTICIPATE IN, then NOT PROVIDING PROOF that I liked those things, BECAUSE I DID NOT, THERE IS NO PROOF OF THIS. I made a post about the furry fandom as a whole, and behaviors i didn't agree with. The warrior cats community was having an active situation unfold, and they decided that my post must have been directly about their situation. It was not. When people started claiming my post was in fact about the warrior cats situation without proper evidence, I blocked them. This is the exact behavior i do not like. jumping onto people and situations without proper context and evidence to back up said claims. People took me blocking them for this behavior as admission of guilt. There was never a post anywhere in support of anyone, I was never involved and I did not interact with the situation outside of being dragged in against my will.
