Okay anon I had to come across some twitter threads to see what you were getting at and let's sum it up yeah, a list of coincidences, things to do with larry and Chicago. I'm probably gonna miss a bunch (and prob not gonna list a bunch of others- i barely see the logic in these being intentional already), soo its a bunch of things that are in the realm of chicago + bears + phones/calling + home coinciding? I guess? Anyway:

Obviously the main point that's making us talk about this is Louis releases the song Chicago. With lines like "if you're lonely in Chicago you can call me (baby)" (that's not whole the takeaway of the song but I'm bringing in TSBL in a later point so we're highlighting her)

Adding here he said its half based on real events half theoretical, and he does have an affiliation to Chicago:

To start off with your points, during Harry's Chicago residency in October 2022, there was a phone booth at the venue and llama Doris posted about it (they havent much since :( ), with a description about calling Home.

Harry's band wears overalls with names of cities they've performed at, since Chicago some have showed up on stage with the name on it, for instance Mitch yesterday (that is nov 25th 2022.). I don't know how often they wear what. The band was also wearing Chicago overalls (Sorry for shit pic) on Nov 9th 2022, but like again I have no clue what they wear every other night.

On that note, nov 9th 2022 was also when the Silver Tongues mv released, and the shirt Louis wore in it, the Englandy Homey one, he was last seen weaing innnnnn padapadapada Chicago! (Feb 2022) (He wore it on stage before in Indianapolis)

Sidetrack on recent music videos, somehow the Sushi mv features a dude wearing a shirt that says "LT HS SENIORS", from a high school in Chicago. Although I think the highlight here is LTHS idk how many LT highschools are there to pick from if we're going for intent here.

During Harry's 2022 Chicago shows he did some ring related stuff ( pointing a sign out in the crowd) and posted that pic of him with a ring backstage that looks like he was making fun of all the peace ring talk lol

During Harry's 2021 Chicago show(s sept 24 and 25), this was I believe the only time (or one of the rare occasions) there were mentions of Home playing before the show - artists pick

In 2021 he also first played To Be So Lonely ("don't call me baby again - it's hard for me to go home - to be so lonely") at Chicago night 2, mind this is the 12th show of the tour and only then added it, and it was and continued to be bathed in bluegreen lights (but then he got bullied into playing it thr previous shows and especially chicago night 1 so that's most likely the reason eh... and also i hope the fans never do that again.)

During one of the 2021 shows he also found 2 people in the crowd in Chicago where he went off (paraphrasing, check link) YOU LOVE EACH OTHER? [out of the fking blue:] YOURE BEST FRIENDS?? GET MARRIED. Mind you this was a few days before a 4 day break including September 28 so I can think of better reasons than the place he was at if we wanna read into that fhfhdhd. This was also when we got those Louis spotted in uh relative close proximity receipts.

For Louis' 2022 tour the only exit song among the massive list of curated post show songs that still stands out to me (although yes I can place it in the list of songs-we-fucked-around-with-on-stage-during-1d like I can make it make sense still thematically it's a detour from the rest imo) is Ceelo Green's Fuck You, yepyep played in Chicago

Were going back in time now: Louis got his 28 tattoo in Chicago in 2015 (together with the buttpenguin which keeps being brought up in current interviews)

When do you think they wrote songs together?

Also, which 1D songs are haylor?

We have confirmation that they wrote together some time in 2012. Jackknife Lee, who worked on The Last Time and 1D’s Something Great (Harry’s the only 1Der with that writing credit), talked about it in the linked article.

“It was out of my field of expertise and interest, but I was intrigued and my girls were thrilled. Taylor was nice and very professional. She knew what she wanted and there was no fucking about. She was seeing Harry Styles at the time, so he came to Topanga on her recommendation. She wrote a few songs with him, and it was the same thing – quick. But this time it was more directed by the management and label. They were after something specific. I wanted more acoustic and gentle, almost Americana, and they wanted bombast. They got what they wanted, and that was the extent of my foray into teen-pop territory. It was fun.”

She helped him transition to songwriting, even introducing him to her collaborators. I would bet money that she made the intro to Nashville’s Tyler Johnson (who sang on tracks, and engineered Holy Ground and The Lucky One). Harry’s been working with him ever since; they just won AOTY together with Kid Harpoon for Harry’s House.

And they’re creatives and prolific songwriters who write in a decade-long dialogue with each other. I am sure they could not resist writing together!

As for 1D…wow. A lot! All the ones with Harry as a sole 1D writer, for sure, so:

Zayn’s rap EP??? Dropped yesterday???!? “Breaking my silence” says Zayn on Yellow Metal- Cathartic (Zayn is Yellow Metal here) and he DOES in 24 minutes of political, personal, complex and lyrically dense rap zoems! It was leaked/dropped whatever you wanna call it by being posted to Z’s cousin’s account (like the cover the other day); but clearly Zayn is behind these drops and that’s what matters, he is releasing this stuff in a way that will get to the fans but not inspire the media uproar (or contract issues) that posting to his own accounts would. As he says “don’t say I can’t communicate, you know I conversate with you in several different ways”, plus “I’ve had enough of being my own enemy, come a long way since 17, I have a few things to say when I get up on a microphone, I didn’t give up on fame I need this time like therapy it’s just to keep me sane… and to be honest it’s offensive, offensive to my still open wounds, trying to ask me questions they know they don’t have I ever replied, I prefer to sit down be online and respond to fanart,” I LOVE THAT. And happy 28th, Louis is writing music! Looks like he is working with producer team Rick Parkhouse and George Tizzard in London (they call themselves Red Triangle Productions and put out music as SuperHi)- they posted a studio picture and tagged Louis. He’s just visible in the booth, singing. Also present- writer/ musician, Paul Whalley and songwriter Robert Harvey (The Music, The Streets) who were both posted and tagged Louis in as well. Louis followed Harvey. Hell yeah, what a line up! Not only that, Jamie Hartman answered a ProjectKMM participant’s question about other songs with Louis-- are they still working on new stuff? He says “I’m sure Louis has been working on new songs with lots of people!” [as we see, yes] “But yes we have done some too- who knows what will make the next album but he’s a top man and I would always write and hang w LT.”

Harry won Best Lyrics for Adore You at the iHeart Awards and Best Cover Song for Juice but failed to take the Artist of the Year or Song of the Year Categories, but more exciting than that- he’s listed as the Director of a new cosmetics and perfume company!!! People have been speculated about him doing something with Gucci Beauty for a long time now (he’s been noted to use their cosmetics, and definitely models their nail polish), and he has of course done perfume ads for them- there’s speculation that this could be for something with them, or it could just be a new thing of his very own. Well the Harry Styles palette would be a damn hit and we all know it, bring it on!

Anne Marie’s Big Weekend performance aired today and yes! She did Our Song with Niall! It’s the performance they recorded last week or so that we saw the pics from, yay first time getting to see them play it, but it was very quickly followed by the next time as their Jonathan Ross show performance also aired! And in case you’re sad about Niall’s previous promo buddies being replaced, there’s no need for that, he’s only adding to the pack; he tweeted Julia Michaels just today, “love ya hules” AWWW. He posted a bunch of cute OS video bts pics too, followed Oprah Winfrey and said he’d like to go to space and that he “would have liked to have been” a godfather to a 1D boy’s baby but “maybe the next one.”

Meanwhile Liam is looking at the fanart submissions he asked for- he retweeted a terrific drawing of himself laughing and said “this is amazing!” and liked a couple of other art posts. Feels like it’s about time for a monthly Liam catch up video, perhaps? Something else to look forward to!

(which makes me think Taylor and Dianna may have started something up at or around that February Oscars party, she’s certainly spending a bit of quality time with Taylor’s two best friends at this point):

The Speak Now Tour ends March 18, 2012 and right after it seems like Swiftgron is inseparable.  I think mid March is the official beginning to their relationship though it’s possible they had been in touch on and off since 2010 and it’s also possible that they started a long distance flirtation in the fall of 2011 (or perhaps at the end of February 2012 given Dianna starts hanging out with Taylor’s friends while she’s back on tour - but Taylor hasn’t followed Dianna on Twitter yet) but all I know for sure is they hang out constantly starting at the end of March 2012.

March 25, 2012 - Hunger Games Movie Date

The first Swiftgron solo hang that we know of Dianna and Taylor go to see The Hunger Games - Taylor had two songs on the movie soundtrack!  There’s no press there to see them so it really does appear they just went to catch the film together.  Dianna tweets about it but doesn’t mention Taylor but some fans take a picture of them so we know they were there together.

Also right before or on this day Taylor start to follow Dianna on twitter:

It rained all day!

It rains rarely in LA but I think this was the inspiration for the lyric “all I know is pouring rain and everything has changed”

This was also a Sunday and a matinee which of course Taylor sings about later in the song The 1.

March 28, 2012 - Dianna is feeling grateful:

So grateful she writes out a list and tweets Taylor (among others) about it!

The first thing she is grateful for is, “My heart, which is open!”

She also mentions “new” and “exciting” which Taylor perhaps references in the Swiftgron anthem Wonderland with the lyric “didn’t it all seem new and exciting?”

Two days later after Dianna’s happy tweets she is having dinner with Taylor and Taylor’s mother Andrea (meeting the parents for the first time?)

It seems that Dianna leaves out a side or back door to avoid being spotted but this article notes that she was there:

If their first date was the Hunger Games (which the pouring rain lyric in EHC makes me think it was), Dianna was meeting Taylor’s mother less than a week later! “Didn’t they tell us don’t rush into things” indeed!

March 31, 2012 - Kids’ Choice Awards and Dianna’s House Party

This guy tweets a bunch proving that Taylor was at Dianna’s house party after the 2012 Kids’ Choice Awards. 

This is significant because everyone made a big deal about Taylor dancing a bit to You Don’t Know You’re Beautiful (and she is dancing around in an adorably dorky manner with Selena, Claire, lesbian icon Sharpay Evans [she’s come a long way since East High School! Go Wildcats!], and Katy Perry):

The camera pans over to Taylor five times.  Haylor shippers sometimes point to this as the start of their romance but to me it reads as though a PRomance is in the works or perhaps fans’ reactions to Taylor enjoying 1D (of course we all know how she loves to sing about women from the male perspective) prompted the idea of Haylor.  

All I know is that she went to Dianna’s house that night not out with Harry so who do you think was important to her at that point?

Jimmy decides to get cute and brings up the “love triangle” between Dianna, Taylor, and Tim Tebow.  When she denies anything is going on with Tim he asks her if she’s dating Taylor. Dianna says “Noooo!” in what appears to be a brief split instance of surprise and panic but recovers smoothly and plays it off as a joke.  She quips, “Wouldn’t that be juicy?”  and turns to the camera to blow a kiss before saying, “Hi Taylor.”

Conclusion - Swiftgron is now traveling together.  Dianna and Taylor’s friend groups have completely meshed.  Taylor appears to go to New York simply to accompany Dianna since Taylor had no work related reason to be in the city that we know of.

The “I guess you’re in New York today” part of Come Back... Be Here (to be written later this spring) may be inspired by the period time where Taylor had to leave New York to work on Red while Dianna had to stay in NYC for work.

ALSO! Sometime this Spring Dianna answers a question about Taylor on her YM&C Blog and says she’d like to sing Ours on Glee:

1. what was your first encounter with fanfiction?

I wish I could remember which fic it was but it was in 2012 when I was knees deep in the 1d fandom and I read something and thought “huh, wonder if I could do something like that’ and wrote a very cringey niall fanfic w/ a possible love triangle with zayn malik! 

2. your favourite creation of your own of all time if you create stuff (feel free to link it) 

uhm, that’s hard because i have a couple but right now i’ve been very proud of my love is fatal fic because it was the first time writing in a different perspective and my first fic in the fandom in almost a year of taking a break from writing!  i also am proud of my first ever reader insert fic with smut, bloody valentine! it was only my second reader insert fic and i was very nervous about posting it. 

3. what vibe are you going for with your home decor (or what vibe do you wanna go for one day, if you don’t have your own place atm)? 

for my future home when i can paint and go all out, i want it to be a mixture of gothic/black witchy vibes. i want to have an altar with herbs and crystals along with a bunch of moon decorations 

4. first fandom you ever joined? what was it like? on what platform did it happen? 

technically, it would be *NSYNC but there wasn’t ‘fandoms’ per say back then so the jonas brothers and even then there wasn’t much of one, so i would say 1d! it was interesting. i don’t miss those days for many reasons, it was mainly on here, facebook and twitter! 

5. what are your sun, moon and rising signs, and do you think they make sense in relation to how you know yourself?

my sun and moon are cancer and rising is gemini. i don’t honestly, i have some cancer tendencies but not 100%. i definitely think i am more cancer than gemini, i’m 100% the mom friend but i won’t hesitate to go off on someone or cut them out completely. i’m brutally honest but at the same time sensitive, i make zero sense lol  

6. if you write and/or read fiction (original or fanfiction), do the tropes/plots/character types you typically seek out to read and/or write about reflect something about you as a being or how you see the world?

my favorite tropes are friends/lovers & enemies/friends/lovers, i like characters who are honest with others (as I am) and aren’t afraid to be who they are. i love writing angst although i tend to go towards the smutty/fluffy fics. i just gravitate towards them 

. 7. what is the hardest obstacle you’ve had to overcome so far in life?

confidence and self doubt; i second guess myself constantly and am almost never confident in any aspect of my life. part of that stems from never feeling good enough

8. what is your all time favourite song(s)?

music is my life; i have a treble clef on my ring finger because i am married to music. i’ll ~attempt~ to keep this short but it wont happen 

spaceship // kesha - for as long as i can remember i’ve felt like an outsider and this song made me feel less along. i’ve always felt like an alien from the moon due to my obsession with the moon and my sign being ruled by the moon. 

say love // jojo - i’ve been in love with this song since 2015 and for many reasons i relate to the lyrics. i thought i could relate to it when i first heard it but as i went through my first heartbreak i learned i related to it more. 

youngblood by 5sos & love + fear by marina - these albums have played such massive roles in my life as i go back to them and listen to them on repeat. i listen to each album without skipping a song 

older than i am // lennon stella - this song was the first song that made me sob in less than a minute of the song. most of my life i have felt so much older than i actually am and i’ve never heard of a song that explained how i felt on the inside. 

9. what do you look for in a person you wanna keep in your life, be it a friend or a romantic partner or anything in between?

i always look for honesty & loyalty but someone who can make me laugh and have deep conversations with are always my favorite. i’ve been through so many ‘best friends’ at this point i just do my own thing. sometimes i feel like a lone wolf and on the flip side i feel like i’ve got a pack with me.

to be perfectly honest and candid as i have with this entire post, it was when i was diagnosed with the mental disorders i have in 2013. for ages i thought something was ‘wrong’ with me because i had so much going on mentally and nothing to explain it until i was diagnosed. it changed my life and i still see the therapist to this day, she’s been such a huge help throughout the healing process.

No umm let me explain myself, I'm sorry I know for a fact it's gonna be a looooong long answer lol

I'm kinda a new fan, obviously I knew about 1d (they're indeed the biggest boy band of their time) larry (since 2015! Hahaha!) and harry styles for years. It's hard to not notice harry when you're a fashion freak queer woman.

So I knew about this fandom, but never been a fan myself till early October 2019 when I read a book ( wayward son ) a sequel to one of my favourite ya novels, in that book I believe the author fashion-vise used harry as some sort of an inspiration for one of the main characters, my favourite, my gay vampire son, baz! So one day I was trying to draw baz but I was doing terrible and needed reference pictures! Of course I searched harry styles floral gucci suits lmao. Next thing I was watching a bunch of harry things on YouTube lol. Just listened to sott, kiwi and medicine and I was like yeah that's it I'm a fan.

Insane right? I was a solo harrie at first!

I believe I watched all I could find of solo harry, I totally was in awe of harry, such charming young man, a dork with good attitude towards women who I, as a queer, could easily see that is also queer, right?

So then I started watching larry videos only to see how much of it actually is true. I was a fan and wanted to get to know harry more. I'm not blind, soon I was convinced they had a thing. But my mistake was that I used to think they were over by the beginning of hiatus, if not years before.

I really never saw anything in Harry's official relationships tho, haylor screamed fake relationship for publicity to me, hendall seemed like friends hooking up once and then going back to being just friends. (Although now I believe that was also for publicity for sure, the yachtgate? Just yikes) Hamille? We literally got two articles and they simply could be friends... you know that people can have friends of opposite sex right?

But then fl era began and Harry's interview with lowe came out, articles about cherry and I had literally no reason to think they're lying. So I started to think he dated the French girl for real, how could i be so wrong? lmao (i know some believe in hamille, that's ok, i mean no offense) it took me a month or so but I finally came to this conclusion that unfortunately hamille is also bs. Yk sometimes I wish I could go back to the time I believed they were a real thing, It just makes it so hard for me, to enjoy this whole era, with the constant references to her in Harry's songs, music videos, interviews if they're nothing but a fake relationship which I believe is the case.

There was a time tho that I thought maybe Larry's still going strong, I remember how excited I got when they played we made it in Harry's listening party. So naive of me, I know!! I think it's kinda so clear that unfortunately they're not a thing anymore for ex: euphoria incident and how they both reacted to it! Also their lyrics, It's crazy how so many people like to ignore their lyrics, especially louis' since harry's always have this sort of hope in them. Hope for future. He literally finished the album with fine line, do I need to say anything more? Lmao

But like walls, the song, made me so sure about my larry beliefs, it's so clear to me what it's about, I can't understand how larries interpret it really...

But umm yeah I was saying it's so clear to me, larries say they're in a 10 yo happy relationship and if that's the case can you explain why for the sake of god, there's not even a song on walls saying I'm-in-this-happy-10yo-relationship-with-my-so-happy-days-indeed???? Not even one!!? And don't say we made it, it was written in 2017. Louis said it went through so many changes, and is about the fans who were patient with him:/ (I do think it initially was love a song, still is maybe with the el's lines, but other than that I don't think it means anything significant, not anymore at least, he said he doesn't like it that much and it was his label's favourite)

So yeah while I definitely see myself as a part of larry fandom, and I believe they were real partners, i also think they fought a lot for the beautiful thing that they once had, but they couldn't make it unfortunately (that's my belief, pls don't attack lol)

What’s your fave thing about writing ur current wip?

so I have a few WIPs I’m working on at the moment. I have the summerexchange I’m pinchhitting for, and what I love about that is that I didn’t really feel up to writing very much lately, but I forced myself to take on this challenge, and I am actually massively enjoying the plot. The prompts were right up my alley and with the help from @lt2019 and Emmi I feel like I’ve got a really cute plot going!

As for the collab, I am just dead excited to work with @thedaggerrose and challenge myself, as I’ve never written with anyone before!

For my balloon fic I am just happy to write Ziam again

And finally, for my Steady Love WIP, my favorite thing is going back to my roots, which is angst! This fic is probably maybe definitely going to break hearts.

Have you got a name yet / what’s your process for finding one?

The summerexchange one has a title that I can’t reveal but that I absolutely love, because it fits so well. The collab has a work title that I really adore as well but that me and Caroline will share a bit closer to when we are ready to post it! It’s still in the super beginning stages so it’ll be a while.

The balloon fic is called ‘eyes up on the prize’ which is from one of Liam’s songs.

The Steady Love fic is called ‘there now, steady love, so few come and don’t go’ which I’m pretty sure is also from a song, which segues nicely into how I find titles for my fics. They’re pretty much all song lyrics all the time. I either google something that has to do with the plot, or I go through 1D lyrics to find something that fits.Typically it’s something that has the right feel for the fic, and sometimes I put a bunch of titles above the text and just suss out the right one that way.

Is there a scene you’re stuck on?

At the moment, not particularly. I’m focused for now on the fic for the summer exchange, so I kind of put the other ones to the side. I can’t write for a long time every day so I don’t really get stuck on parts, I just get stuck on my body refusing to cooperate while my brain is still ready to go!

Is there a scene you can’t wait to write?

Everything for the summerexchange but especially the first time Louis and Harry lay eyes on each other again. 

For the pygmalion AU, the moment Harry comes to life sounds like an amazing thing to write!

For the steady love fic, oh man. The first time Louis realizes Harry is about to die. And then when he realizes he is in love with him. Did I tell you yet that this fic is going to break hearts? Mine is included in that.

What’s your process when you get stuck? Are you rational or do you flip ur metaphorical writing desk and storm out?

Call in my angels, @londonfoginacup and @lt2019 who are absolute godsends and who always read my fic and get me back on track. I have a few more people who definitely always give good advice (my lovelies Ri, Caroline and @pocketsunshineharry) but Emmi and Pam especially have the magic touch. 

Because I don’t write more than 1-2k in one sitting I don’t really struggle with frustration as much. I typically start my sessions by rereading what I wrote last time, doing some light editing, and then (since recently) putting on some nice classical music to write to. I can’t listen to anything with lyrics while I write, but there’s a ton of nice study music videos on youtube that do the trick and get me focused. 

I also typically work with a layout for my fics (ADHD necessity lmao) and I have two giant blackboards in my room to write little things on. Sometimes I just do research if I don’t feel like writing, or when I’m stuck on details. I’ve only gotten really stuck writing TNFIF because it was honestly just too much to really get a grasp on, but as my other stories aren’t that big I’m usually okay to continue the next time I get a chance to write. And if not, I have a big folder of screenshots of comments and tags and happy notes that reassure me I am a good writer and I can do this. And my friends, who never fail to praise me far beyond what I deserve :D

First song I listened to - She Looks So Perfect

First 2 albums have pop-punk vibes. 2nd album gets quite personal and has helped me through some shit. 3rd album is different but cool. Very vibey alt-pop stuff. EPs are very underrated. 

All Time Low (American)

Whipped from the start. Probably the most unproblematic artist out there. Just a couple of boys who want to play their music and see their fans. Pure™️. On the final Warped Tour.

First song I listened to - Dear Maria, Count Me In

All albums up to Don’t Panic are very pop-punk. Future Hearts is pop-punk but there was this idk growth thing and it was just somewhat different to its predecessors. Kind of the record where they grew out of the ‘whiny pop-punk sk8er bois’ and into more alt-rock. Last Young Renegade was very different. Some pop-punk tracks some alt-rock some completely different. Loved it nonetheless. New songs scream Dirty Work and I’m living for it. Dirty Work is also extremely underrated and everyone should listen to it. 

Boy Hero (American)

A bit like the love child of Sleeping With Sirens and Panic! At The Disco. Idk how to describe it but it’s hell good.

These guys have a whole bunch of covers. Self titled is pretty good. Also they like anime and they do twitch streams. Lead singer lowkey sounds like Brendon Urie. Got a powerful voice.

First album was deathcore then went to metalcore and got less heavy over time. Lots of people didn’t like the last album but I liked it. It was different but good different. Liked how they decided to play with new sounds. Also makes it easier to cover their songs.

British rock band. Also surprise remember the guy who played Jace in the Mortal Instruments movie yeah well he’s the lead singer.

First album was straight up acoustic singer-songwriter stuff. Cute and stuff. Next 2 albums experimented with sound and it was great. There’s at least 1 song on each album that will make you cry. Actually went to his concert for the divide tour and it was great. Very chill. 

The Faim (Australian)

Alt-rock with some pop-punk influences in there. Fairly new band and went under the name of Small Town Heroes before the name change. Sounds a bit like Panic! At The Disco, Fall Out Boy and All Time Low.

The EP Summer Is A Curse is out now and boy it is good. Just waiting for the album to be released. They wrote some tracks with Ashton Irwin, Mark Hoppus, Pete Wentz, Josh Dun and John Feldmann and Zack Cervini produced it. I have very high hopes for the album. Entire band has this amazing stage energy which is absolutely mesmerising to watch.

An Australian indie band. Different to what I usually listen to. Very chill.

Before American Idiot was like underground punk rock songs. After American Idiot got some pop influenced melodies which got them into more mainstream rock. Bops, anger, sadness and overall feelings throughout. Broadway Musical version is extremely slept on and I saw the production and it is a masterpiece. Left me kind of breathless at the end.

Got less heavy over each album. Collide With The Sky is probably my favourite album. Currently writing album 5 which I am extremely excited for. Vic Fuentes’ voice is quite high and but you get used to it. Screams are excellent. 

PVMNTS (American)

Pronounced as pavements but they decided to not have vowels. Also remember Tyler Posey from Teen Wolf well yeah he’s the lead singer in the band. On the final Warped Tour.

Newest album is very real and super chill. Got some new different sounds in it. First 2 albums are heavy on the singer songwriter genre. Amazing writing and his voice has a somewhat raspy tinge and extremely powerful at the same time.

Yes this is the band where the lead singer sounds like a girl.

Yes this is the band that has Billie Joe Armstrong’s kid in it. Also it’s pronounced Swimmers. Just they didn’t like vowels. Originally named Emily’s Army but they changed the name. Found these guys through a reaction to songs I’ve never heard before from CrankThatFrank

Excellent songwriting.

All the Walls lyrics are up! Pre-ordered albums reached some people early and a fan posted pics of the lyric sheet and you guys... you guys! It is all so unbearably tender and open and lovely and the whole damn thing will be out so soon, so FINE, today's news today and Walls soon enough: Louis posted an IGTV from the London listening party, added two UK acoustic show and signings (Feb 10 & 12), Sirius announced a spot with him Thurs in NY, his first big album review is out, NME, it's not fawning but it's respectful and interested, and interview material is pouring in. Louis says Habit is about music and "the fans," (2028 1D reunion interviews: yeah actually Steal My Girl was written about the fans!) and "Too Young is about meeting ‘the one’ aged 18," (going on to confirm that he definitely means he was 18), LOL- he was nearly 20 when him and Eleanor got together but as it happens I do buy that he met the one at 18... Between this and the leaked lyrics, well there's a lot of stuff that's just not about E and it ain't just timelines but as Louis well knows, everyone's still gonna believe what they already do so why not sing his heart? Love that. (Meanwhile antis: Hannah is the one! LMAO you think I'm joking I could not make that up I am simply not galaxy brained enough for that kind of incredible creativity and I bow down. Their minds!)

Niall and Lewis made a delightful spectacle of themselves at the Grammys after-party, standing right up on a table with Shawn and Camila and making fun of their PDA by also kissing on the table, singing at the top of their lungs and being goofs while the whole party gathered round to take video of them showing off, whatta bunch of divas, then ending up back at Niall's eventually. It looks like the most fun and I love that for them; Niall's bro gang (today ft Shawn) look like they're dying in the pic on Niall's big sofa today though aww, but then Niall hooked up a big meal for the hungover masses, double awww. The Flames video is finally coming, this Thursday and it looks SO GOOD OMFG! It's gonna be COOL AF you guys, can't wait. This week has seen a few fan pics of Zayn from a little while back post, which somehow always happens right before he announces something. I seriously want to know how they coordinate that like is Zayn's PA staying in touch with these people like okay annnd....now! Pull the trigger! Anyway and then today we got the announcement and teaser clip and it's gonna be so cool! Yesss. That's gonna be a busy day....

Another Australian radio spot with Liam announced for this week- will he be down under in person or he is just lining up a lot of long distance call-ins?

Harry was announced for the lineup of the Radio One Big Weekend in late May. He was quoted saying something incredibly bland and fake about how excited he was and I was going to make a joke about how he obviously didn't say it (and how it was exactly the same format as the quote he obviously didn't say about the Miami show) but I was beaten to it by a Guardian journalist! Then everyone got mad at that guy and then Greg James defended him and Nick Grimshaw made fun of the fans and now everyone is mad at them so wow never mind! You're very right Harry definitely is a boring PR bot SO SORRY for thinking otherwise! What a thing to get mad about huh some people are wild.

Youngblood “review”

So I set out to write a comprehensive track-by-track review, except it soon became pretty clear that i

a) do not know what i’m talking about and

b) have no patience.

But since I’m not in the fandom nobody cares anyway so I’m just going to dump this mess here for my own benefit.

The categories are my reaction to their (past?) insistence that they’re not a boyband and they don’t want to “just” have screaming girls at their concerts. I love every song on this album and as everyone knows I’m a big fan of boybands, so the categories are in no way disparaging, it’s just my way of eyerolling at them because dude, you make the music you make, stop pretending otherwise.

And I added headcanons because i’ve got this half-formed idea in my head that I could write a ficlet for every song, i mean, you know, hypothetically, if i ever remembered how to write...

Boyband classics

Better man - the chorus puts it firmly in the boyband category. A very clear elounor song, the second time they get together.

Why won’t you love me - when i thought it was about unreciprocated love i would have said it was a louelle song, but if it’s about a relationship where one half is not putting in the effort and uses touring as an excuse not to commit, then it’s definitely elounor, the first time around.

Monster among men - I love that chorus so much, and it’s a great song to shout out to. It’s the clapping, isn’t it? Clapping’s always so contagious. Also, it’s very obviously louelle, if their paths had crossed again (and louis hadn't been back with el already).

Want you back - god i love that one so much, from the music to the lyrics, the verses and chorus, there's not one bit to throw away. 😍 It's clearly elounor to the point of being boring, so I'd go for cheriam instead, with a generous twisting of reality. *coughs*

Lie to me - I adore the very first verse. Not a super fan of the chorus, apart from the “li-li-li-lie lie to me” which is so wonderful to sing along to. I'm not sure about the pairing tho. Moving on without looking back is a very Harry thing to do, but it doesn't quite fit. There may be sth to do with Zayn leaving the band. Maybe it's Ziall.

Moving Along - i find the lyric construction a bit disappointing in this one (the verses are simple to the point of poverty), even though i do love the theme of the song. It’s definitely a Louis-song (let’s face it this entire album has got Louis written all over it), although i’m not sure which pairing, it could work with pretty much any of them, be it elounor or lilo or even nouis.

 In-between

Woke up in Japan - to be fair I was destined to love it because of that “so Shawn totally banged one member of 5sos in Japan and they both wrote a song about it” post (that I need to track back down so I can reblog it). But I also love the jadedness of the voice in the first verse compared to the rawness of the bridge and the mellowness of the chorus (I'm probably getting this all wrong and mixing the parts up have i mentioned i know nothing about music?). Also this is very clearly a Niall song, which means it's probably Hendes.

Ghost of you - This one is SUCH a Katy Perry song that i literally hear her voice every time i listen to the chorus, it’s uncanny. I do love it though (confession time : i actually like most of KP’s songs, even though i know she’s apparently problematic as fuck). Definitely a niall song, probably narry? Or ziall, actually, because of that “that old Zeppelin shirt You wore when you ran away, and no one could feel your hurt” line.

Young Blood - god, that chorus. No wonder they chose it as the first single and album name, it's just perfect and so fucking tight and raw and it gets the blood pulsing in just the right way. It's such a Harry song, and the anger makes it a clear contender for zarry, since Zayn is the only one who could credibly sing about “being beat at his own game.”

Talk Fast - okay but 5sos very clearly time-travelled back to the 80s and stole this song from a poor unsuspecting artist, and that’s the dirt on that. But also! Finally! A song that I'm not making about Louis 😲 Very clear Narry vibes here, Niall being the one who desperately tries to tell himself he's completely okay with a series of one-night-stands even though he's already lost his heart to Harry so hard it's proper ridiculous.

 ‘Level-up’

More - i didn't expect to get any cheriam out of this, let alone two of them, but this is the best pairing for this one, without a doubt.

If walls could talk - ugh, i love that one a lot, both music and lyrics. Also for some reason I’m getting zouis vibes from it, but I couldn’t even really explain why.

Empty wallets - another song that makes me think of another artist, except with this one i can’t seem to pinpoint who it reminds me of. Either way, it's another clear zouis for this one.

Meet you there - that chorus is the fucking best. The song in general (especially the “I’d keep waiting for you” part) reminds me of DNCE, which is a very high compliment because I adore them. Can't figure out a pairing for this one though, mainly because of the music (it's not tender enough for any of the pairings these lyrics would usually lead me to).

Babylon - Fucking hell I love this one, gives me the same feeling as when I listen to Fall Out Boy, in the “just throw your head back and yell to the sky” category. I love how tight the lyrics are in the verses, very nice crafting there. Although the very very beginning always makes me think I’m going to listen to a Maître Gims song and I won’t lie, that’s traumatizing (google him at your own risk). A clear Zouis song, when everything was still raw and painful.

Valentine - probably controversial, but I get huge 21 Pilot vibes from that one. And I’ve always loved songs which feel like a bunch of songs mixed together in a mishmash way. I have to say I was surprised when i looked the lyrics up (i couldn’t make them out on my own) because the music is super jaded and that didn’t sound like an actual love song to me at all. But considering how laid back it all is, I’d definitely go for elounor, 2nd iteration.

 One last thing that really struck me with this album, is how every. single. song. is a banger. Every album has at least a couple of super slow syrupy or depressing songs, the song i will unfailingly skip every single time coz I'm never in the mood for them. 1d had them, Hanson had them, even rock bands have them. But there's literally not a single one in Youngblood, even though it talks about love and depression plenty. And i fucking adore that. ❤
