Swordswoman Showdown Quarterfinals
Xena (Xena: Warrior Princess) vs Lady Maria of the Astral Clocktower (Bloodborne)
Tumblr media Tumblr media
(Better here in a "preferred character" sense, not "who would win in a fight")
Propaganda below cut
Xena
Warrior Princess
She wields a sword and chakram. Just had to submit a biconic swordswoman.
i love her. she made me gay as a kid. Anyway, her weapon of choice is her sword, she is obviously very good with it
#unfortunately i have to choose and i have to choose xena#a) utena had no warcry. b) xena fought gods. c) xena has kickass goofy comic book combat which is my favorite
xena didn’t just fight gods. she fucked up a girl’s life so bad that she (calisto) devoted her entire being to destroying everything that xena loved that ended up with calisto becoming a god in order to destroy xena, which didnt work because xena entombed her in lava. and then when xena and gabrielle encountered calisto in the (christian) afterlife (different from the greek one which they also fought her in), calisto dragged gabrielle to hell so xena became an archangel in order to save gabrielle and then sacrificed herself in order to undo all the harm that she did in calisto’s life and then when not!jesus (played by timothy omundson) revives xena and gabrielle, calisto impregnates xena with the reincarnation of calisto’s soul in order to end the cycle of hate. xena doesnt just fight gods. she creates and destroys them
#this isnt even mentioning her fighting julius ceasar several times#telling brutus that caesar is not his friend#xena and gabrielle’s souls reincarnating across centuries in order to kick ass and fall in love all over again#or the time xena became a god but tbh that ep is kinda ‘uhhhhh…..’ even if they did hire a consultant for it
#I think everyone here knows to vote for Xena. I think a couple people here might have some propaganda for Xena saved already#everyone remember that Xena/Gabrielle is CANON and that's a pretty big deal also#(does anyone have that Xena Loves Trans People interview around because that would also make good propaganda)7:47 PM
Lady Maria
She has a double-bladed sword called Rakuyo that can split in two to be dual-wielded; She's haunting the narrative and the whole game foreshadows her existence
She wields the rakuyo, twin-bladed trick weapon that can transform into a matching katana and dagger, making it a versatile weapon; She one of the highest-ranked Hunters in the game, and fights like an experienced PVP opponent. During the boss fight against her, she stabs herself twice, first to bloody her blades and increase the range of her attacks, and the second time to cause her blades to emit flame when she strikes. Finally, she starts off the boss fight with this quote: "A corpse, should be left well alone. Oh, I know very well how the secrets beckon so sweetly. Only an honest death will cure you now. Liberate you from your wild curiosity."
She fights with a sick twin bladed sword which can split into two smaller swords, She was too hard and I couldn't beat her :'(
Duel wielding sword and dagger that combine as a twin blade; Best boss in the game. Also taller than your character by a full head. Her outfit is fashion as fuck as well.

So the Leah storyline finally comes to an end—not with a bang, but with a whimper.
What was the point of making this bitch Daryl’s girlfriend if that literally does nothing to service the story? The way he iced her so quickly just proved it meant nothing. I distinctly remember Kang telling Carylers to give this storyline a chance. What it actually amounted to was manufactured ship wars for clout. We knew this chick was never a threat to Caryl. We were asking for the bare minimum of literary payoff for the sake of Daryl’s story. That little showdown really could have been something, if you just imagine for one second Carol in Maggie’s place for that scene. Sigh.
*Can’t do a read more because I’m on mobile here but just bare with me.
This show is suffering from what I’ll henceforth call the 100 syndrome—They’re more concerned with making sure their final season sets up the future of the franchise than they are with giving cohesive payoff. I mean, not that it wasn’t cool, mind you, but if you have to insert a random plague of locusts to force subtext onto your storytelling, how impactful really is the story you’re telling?
What actually happened in these first two blocks? If this was the reason 100% of Caryl development had to be relegated to block C, why does it feel like almost nothing of real significance happened to justify that? lmao. So many storylines are still feeling like they only had their surface scratched. They have too many characters to service and they keep adding more, so obviously we were never getting CRM/the cure storyline in the main show, but the ante could seriously be upped by this point. With the exception of some key episodes, 11A and B have been slow as shit. It shouldn’t be feeling like the first two blocks were just one long trailer for part 3. I desperately want to be more emotionally invested by now, in all of the main characters’ stories, not just Caryl’s. Again, just imagine if the big gotcha was that CW were secretly rounding up sick and delinquent lower class citizens as test subjects for CRM. I guess that could still be the case, but with 8 episodes left, I highly doubt it.
Since 10C aired, my mind has been on meta brain to justify its existence, and the multitude of ways in which 11 could have gone down. Leah’s death is where I tap out of this game. I genuinely have no idea what the vehicle will be for Caryl’s story moving forward, which is kind of tantalizing. I prefer to be pleasantly surprised anyway, but when canon so far has ended up severely underwhelming in comparison to anything I’ve seen Carylers come up with, it’s hard not to seek out meaning in the shit they won’t address.
I’m still reserving final judgement until the series finale, and despite all this foolery am still largely excited for and confident 11C is going to be a critical jump in pacing and quality. I don’t see how it can’t be at this point.

Out of job duty into civilization. She shows little bit of emotions; calm, patience, thoughtful, confident. But is humorless due to her life as a Kunoichi since she was a child.
Background may change from time to time.
Background: She is from a clan that is specialized in poisonous and venomous. She’s from Poisonous Village.
She lives in a forest where poison is airborne from poisonous plants that protects them from intruders. She’s born immune to all poison and venom since it’s Kekkei Genkai. She knows how to make cure for all of them. It’s in her blood. The blood can cure all of them. But without the blood, most of the ingredients are rare to find, difficult to make, or extinct.
Tsumeato was only 10 years old when Ninja Academy saw Tsumeato’s potential to become a Kunoichi since her grandparents are retired ninjas. Much to her family’s distraught, they couldn’t stop them as she’s taken against her will because they were only farmers. In the Ninja Academy, They’re not allowed to see their family until they graduated. Or make it out alive. Ninja Academy only allowed the Shinobis or failures to leave alive; AWOLs are killed. To distract herself from stressful situation, she made couple of friends. One of them became her best friend. Her name is Nobuko.
In the finals, only 20 students remaining out of 50. Tsumeato is numb from killing Genin, Chunin, & child prisoners as seeing other students do the same thing. She’s lucky to have Nobuko by her side, who still have her cheery attitude despite the circumstances.
When it came to final showdown, it was her against Nobuko. They were heartbroken it came to this. But they both have family to return to. Tsumeato ignored Nobuko’s request to win since she wants to return home to her family as well. Despite Nobuko’s hard effort to win, Tsumeato managed to beat Nobuko. Tsumeato shakingly held the kunai over her heart as she had flashbacks during their times during academy. The instructor was frustrated by this and ordered her to finish her off. She remains frozen as she was about to kill her only friend. The instructor got angry, point his kunai at back of Tsumeato’s neck, threatening to kill them both if she doesn’t do it. Tsumeato quickly act by jabbing the kunai through Nobuko’s heart. She stares into Nobuko’s eyes as Nobuko’s last words were “No...No...”. The instructor put his kunai away. Tsumeato’s mixed feeling of relief & agony. She stood up with her hands shaking on her sides, forms her hands into fist to stop shaking. The instructor announced the winners of 10 students who passed the Ninja Academy and became Genins. They didn’t celebrate as they wasn’t anything to be happy about.
When Tsumeato reunites with her family after 2 years in Ninja Academy. The headband is on her left shoulder of the black jacket. Her family were swelled with joy as she came back, but notice she wasn’t the same as she was before. They did their best to comfort her, but she denied all the kind gesture as she was taught it's weakness to have emotions. Her family thought she needed some space as they heard what happened at Ninja Academy Graduation. After a while, they learned what she was taught, they wanted to argue with her about it, but is afraid they would upset her. They all dealt with it differently as they accepted Tsumeato has changed.
Tsumeato started to help with the family with farming, they saw how disciplined & stronger she is when she came back from Ninja Academy. She summons clones to help her out to speed up the progress across the field, lift two 50lbs of soil bags onto wheel burrow more easily, faster learning progress on how to take care of crops and farming tools. Her attitude has changed when it came to chores as well, no longer complains about doing them and gets it done.
Two years passed. Becomes a Chunin at age 14. She moved out of her families house into her own small house. Their clan defended their land from rouge ninjas and other clans. Went to war with other clans trying to expand their territory into their lands and fought rouge ninjas as well. The Poisonous Village won many battles and rarely lost. Tsumeato became battle-hardened from going to many battles. No longer contacts her family after the first battle.
Two years passed. Jonin at age 16. She’s sent off from her village to gather intels from enemies, spy on alliances for the rumors of possible betrayal to Poisonous Village, forum possible alliances from other clans, hired to protect VIP people for money, etc. She’s busy with Kunoichi work that she thought about having a family of her own would be impossible with little time she had.
As she was on her way to the mission. A strange black gooey creature wearing mask shoots lightning in her direction as it jumped out of no where. It almost hits her on her left rib cage, but dodges it in time. Lands on the ground A man with long dark-brown hair, green eyes and brown skin appears before her from the shadows. He’s wearing a scratched Hidden in a Waterfall headband. Tsumeato asked who are you & what do you want. He gives his name. Kakuzu. He tells her that she’s worth a lot of money, either dead or alive. Tumblr media
Quarterfinal matchups: Neo v Blake, Nora v Ruby, Yang v Emerald, Pyrrha v Cinder
Neo v Blake
Neo, offering her hand to Blake with utmost confidence: Let’s do this.
Blake: You think you can beat me?
Neo: You think you can underestimate me?
Everyone else: Ooooooo.
Blake, chuckling and taking Neo’s hand: Alright, pint size. Let’s go.
Neo: One...two...three!
BAM!
Neo: Fuck.
Yang: Yeah! Nice one, Blake!
Blake: Maybe I overestimated you.
Neo, grumpy: I thought I could fake you out with my fake confidence.
Blake: Didn’t work out though, huh? *chuckles* I think I am owed something.
Neo, sighing and rolling her eyes: Fine. *undoes her belt*
Neon: Oh yes, we are ready to see the smallest butt on the planet.
Neo, winking at her, then suddenly illusioning up some waist-high curtains to surround herself: Whoops.
Neon: Oh come on!
Neo, tossing her underwear to Blake from behind her curtains: Congrats.
Blake, looking down at the brown, white and pink garment: Oh, of course.
Advancing to the semifinals: Blake

Nora v Ruby
Yang: Okay, this is one that I’m actually really intrigued by. Both of you could win this whole thing.
Nora, staring across at Ruby intensely: Oh, I do plan to win this whole thing, Rose.
Ruby: Ha! Well I think I’ll be winning this tournament, and I’m gonna be one step closer to doing so once I take your undies from you right now!
Nora: Haha! Such grandstanding will get you nowhere! Allow our strength to bring forth the resolution to this quarrel! Have at thee!
Ruby, taking her hand: En garde!
Nora: Prepare to commence!
Ruby: Our battle will be legendary!
Nora: Ready!
Ruby: Set!
Nora: GO!
The equal opposing forces of their hands fighting against each other almost produces a visible shockwave.
Nora: RAAAAAH!
Ruby: AHHHHHHH!
Nora: AAAAAAA
Ruby: AAAAAAaaaaaa wait no!
Nora, beginning to take advantage: AAAAAAAA
Ruby: Wait! Mercy! NO!
Nora, pinning Ruby’s hand: YAS!
Ruby: AAAAAAAAA
Weiss, rubbing her temples: Brothers fucking Grimm, do you have to be so lou—
Nora: Aha! You are but another conquest of Valkyrie the Conqueror! Produce to me my spoils of war!
Ruby, resting her forehead on the table: hrmghfkrm.
Nora: Gimme!
Ruby: Ehhhhh....
Nora: Gimme the panties!!!
Ruby: EEEEEHHHHH!
Nora: GIMME!
Ruby: OKAY! *suddenly stands up* But I will not forget this moment. *reaches beneath her skirt* We will face off again some day. *brings down her underwear* And I will defeat you. *hands her red undies over to Nora*
Nora, smugly taking the panties: You’re gonna have to do a lot of pushups to reach my level, baby. *holds up Ruby’s, Ilia’s and Ciel’s panties* Valkyrie the Conqueroooooor!
Ciel, blushing: Quit waving them around!
Advancing to the semifinals: Nora
~~~
Yang v Emerald
Emerald, already taking her pants off: Nope.
Yang: Aww c’mon.
Emerald: Yang, you and I both know you could easily break my arm into pieces. I will not take that chance.
Yang: I wouldn’t go that hard....uh....*blushes because bottomless Emerald*
Emerald, holding her green undies out for Yang to take, along with Neon’s: You are on a whole ‘nother level. You’re just too powerful.
Yang, sighing and accepting the garments: Thank you, gracious Emerald. *glances over toward Pyrrha and Cinder* Now I await my opponent...
Advancing to the semifinals: Yang
~~~
Pyrrha v Cinder
Cinder: Can I use my robot arm?
Pyrrha: Well, uhh....
Yang: Hey now...that wouldn’t be fair. I only used my robot arm earlier because it was robot arm versus robot.
Pyrrha: No no, it’s quite alright. I know Cinder is an honest competitor and would only ask of such an accommodation if she thought it necessary.
Cinder: Oh gods, you’re going to pin my cybernetic arm, aren’t you.
Pyrrha: Well...I will try.
Nora: Go Pyrrha!
Cinder, extending her robo arm to her, sighing: Alright, let’s do this. I won’t go easily.
Pyrrha, taking her hand: Nor shall I.
Nora: Ready, set, go!
Their hands lock up and they strain against each other, Cinder’s arm whirring in a mechanical struggle.
Cinder: Fuck fuck fuck fuck—
Pyrrha, pinning her arm: Haha!
Cinder: You used your Polarity on my arm!!!
Pyrrha, smiling innocently: But Cinder, using your robot arm was your idea. *pleasant smile*
Cinder: 😦 *distraught silence*
Yang: Oh damn....Pyrrha played you hard....
Nora: Gods that was hot, not gonna lie.
Cinder: So....I have to....
Ruby, pointing at her: Haw haw!
Cinder: Shut up!
Nora: Sorry, Cinder, but ya gotta.
Cinder, gritting her teeth: Goddamnit....
Pyrrha: It’s okay, Cinder. You shouldn’t feel embarrassed.
Cinder: Wow. You just cured my embarrassment, thanks. *sigh* Okay, I’m just going to get this over with. I’m not going to give any of you the satisfaction of seeing me embarrassed, so I’m just gonna do it! *pushes off her shorts and panties, tossing the black undies to Pyrrha along with Velvet’s* There!
Pyrrha, catching the panties, but staring at Cinder for a moment: Oh dear....
Cinder, pulling her shirt down to cover herself, but not her privates, but to cover her scars on her hip and thigh: Yeah, like I said, I’m not giving you all the satisfaction...
Pyrrha: C-Cinder....
Cinder, sitting down and still covering herself, her face turning red: Well? Move onto the next round or...whatever.
Pyrrha: You look beautiful.
Cinder, shaking her head: You’re just saying that to make me feel better.
Pyrrha: No, Cinder....you really are.
Ruby: Seriously, Cinder. You never need to hide yourself from us.
Weiss, sitting next to Cinder, placing a hand on her shoulder: We’re your friends, remember?
Cinder, sighing: Yeah, I know....thank you.
Pyrrha: Of course, Cindermon Roll.
Cinder: Ugh.
Pyrrha: Hehe~
Cinder: *sighs deeply, but maybe also smiles a little. Just a little*
Advancing to the semifinals: Pyrrha

In this thoughtful treatise spurred by the 2015 death of African-American academic Sandra Bland in jail after a traffic stop, New Yorker writer Gladwell (The Tipping Point) aims to figure out the strategies people use to assess strangers-to "analyze, critique them, figure out where they came from, figure out how to fix them," in other words: to understand how to balance trust and safety. He uses a variety of examples from history and recent headlines to illustrate that people size up the motivations, emotions, and trustworthiness of those they don't know both wrongly and with misplaced confidence.

Hurston, Zora Neale, author. Barracoon : the story of the last "black cargo" First edition. Plant -- Founders and original residents of Africatown -- Glossary. "In 1927, Zora Neale Hurston went to Plateau, Alabama, just outside Mobile, to interview eighty-six-year-old Cudjo Lewis. Of the millions of men, women, and children transported from Africa to America as slaves, Cudjo was then the only person alive to tell the story of this integral part of the nation's history. Hurston was there to record Cudjo's firsthand account of the raid that led to his capture and bondage fifty years after the Atlantic slave trade was outlawed in the United States. In 1931, Hurston returned to Plateau, the African-centric community three miles from Mobile founded by Cudjo and other former slaves from his ship. Spending more than three months there, she talked in depth with Cudjo about the details of his life. During those weeks, the young writer and the elderly formerly enslaved man ate peaches and watermelon that grew in the backyard and talked about Cudjo's past--memories from his childhood in Africa, the horrors of being captured and held in a barracoon for selection by American slavers, the harrowing experience of the Middle Passage packed with more than 100 other souls aboard the Clotilda, and the years he spent in slavery until the end of the Civil War. Based on those interviews, featuring Cudjo's unique vernacular, and written from Hurston's perspective with the compassion and singular style that have made her one of the preeminent American authors of the twentieth-century, Barracoon masterfully illustrates the tragedy of slavery and of one life forever defined by it. Offering insight into the pernicious legacy that continues to haunt us all, black and white, this poignant and powerful work is an invaluable contribution to our shared history and culture."--Publisher's website.

Kantor, Jodi, 1975- author. She said : breaking the sexual harassment story that helped ignite a movement. The first phone call -- Hollywood secrets -- How to silence a victim -- "Positive reputation management" -- A company's complicity -- "Who else is on the record?" -- "There will be a movement" -- The beachside dilemma -- "I can't guarantee I'll go to DC" -- Epilogue: The gathering. For many years, reporters had tried to get to the truth about Harvey Weinstein's treatment of women. Rumors of wrongdoing had long circulated. But in 2017, when Jodi Kantor and Megan Twohey began their investigation into the prominent Hollywood producer for the New York Times, his name was still synonymous with power. During months of confidential interviews with top actresses, former Weinstein employees, and other sources, many disturbing and long-buried allegations were unearthed, and a web of onerous secret payouts and nondisclosure agreements was revealed. These shadowy settlements had long been used to hide sexual harassment and abuse, but with a breakthrough reporting technique Kantor and Twohey helped to expose it. But Weinstein had evaded scrutiny in the past, and he was not going down without a fight. He employed a team of high-profile lawyers, private investigators, and other allies to thwart the investigation. When Kantor and Twohey were finally able to convince some sources to go on the record, a dramatic final showdown between Weinstein and the New York Times was set in motion. Nothing could have prepared Kantor and Twohey for what followed the publication of their initial Weinstein story on October 5, 2017. Within days, a veritable Pandora's box of sexual harassment and abuse was opened. Women all over the world came forward with their own traumatic stories. Over the next twelve months, hundreds of men from every walk of life and industry were outed following allegations of wrongdoing. But did too much change -- or not enough? Those questions hung in the air months later as Brett Kavanaugh was nominated to the Supreme Court, and Christine Blasey Ford came forward to testify that he had assaulted her decades earlier. Kantor and Twohey, who had unique access to Ford and her team, bring to light the odyssey that led her to come forward, the overwhelming forces that came to bear on her, and what happened after she shared her allegation with the world.

Larson, Erik, 1954- author. The splendid and the vile. First edition. Bleak Expectations -- The Rising Threat -- A Certain Eventuality -- Dread -- Blood and Dust -- The Americans -- Love Amid the Flames -- One Year to the Day -- Epilogue. "The #1 New York Times bestselling author of The Devil in the White City and Dead Wake delivers a fresh and compelling portrait of Winston Churchill and London during the Blitz On Winston Churchill's first day as prime minister, Hitler invaded Holland and Belgium. Poland and Czechoslovakia had already fallen, and the Dunkirk evacuation was just two weeks away. For the next twelve months, Hitler would wage a relentless bombing campaign, killing 45,000 Britons. It was up to Churchill to hold the country together and persuade President Franklin Roosevelt that Britain was a worthy ally-and willing to fight to the end. In The Splendid and the Vile, Erik Larson shows, in cinematic detail, how Churchill taught the British people "the art of being fearless." It is a story of political brinkmanship, but it's also an intimate domestic drama set against the backdrop of Churchill's prime-ministerial country home, Chequers; his wartime retreat, Ditchley, where he and his entourage go when the moon is brightest and the bombing threat is highest; and of course 10 Downing Street in London. Drawing on diaries, original archival documents, and once-secret intelligence reports-some released only recently-Larson provides a new lens on London's darkest year through the day-to-day experience of Churchill and his family: his wife, Clementine; their youngest daughter, Mary, who chafes against her parents' wartime protectiveness; their son, Randolph, and his beautiful, unhappy wife, Pamela; Pamela's illicit lover, a dashing American emissary; and the cadre of close advisers who comprised Churchill's "Secret Circle," including his lovestruck private secretary, John Colville; newspaper baron Lord Beaverbrook; and the Rasputin-like Frederick Lindemann. The Splendid and the Vile takes readers out of today's political dysfunction and back to a time of true leadership, when-in the face of unrelenting horror-Churchill's eloquence, courage, and perseverance bound a country, and a family, together."--.

Purnell, Sonia, author. A woman of no importance : the untold story of the American spy who helped win World War II. The dream -- Cometh the hour -- My tart friends -- Good-bye to Dindy -- Twelve minutes, twelve men -- Honeycomb of spies -- Cruel mountain -- Agent most wanted -- Scores to settle -- Madonna of the mountains -- From the skies above -- The CIA years. "The never-before-told story of one woman's heroism that changed the course of the Second World War In 1942, the Gestapo sent out an urgent command across France: "She is the most dangerous of all Allied spies. We must find and destroy her." This spy was Virginia Hall, a young American woman--rejected from the foreign service because of her gender and her prosthetic leg--who talked her way into the spy organization dubbed Churchill's "ministry of ungentlemanly warfare," and, before the United States had even entered the war, became the first woman to deploy to occupied France. Virginia Hall was one of the greatest spies in American history, yet her story remains untold. Just as she did in Clementine, Sonia Purnell uncovers the captivating story of a powerful, influential, yet shockingly overlooked heroine of the Second World War. At a time when sending female secret agents into enemy territory was still strictly forbidden, Virginia Hall came to be known as the "Madonna of the Resistance," coordinating a network of spies to blow up bridges, report on German troop movements, arrange equipment drops for Resistance agents, and recruit and train guerilla fighters. Even as her face covered WANTED posters throughout Europe, Virginia refused order after order to evacuate. She finally escaped with her life in a grueling hike over the Pyrenees into Spain, her cover blown, and her associates all imprisoned or executed. But, adamant that she had "more lives to save," she dove back in as soon as she could, organizing forces to sabotage enemy lines and back up Allied forces landing on Normandy beaches. Told with Purnell's signature insight and novelistic panache, A Woman of No Importance is the breathtaking story of how one woman's fierce persistence helped win the war"--.

Hatton, Barry, 1963- author. Queen of the sea : a history of Lisbon. "Lisbon was almost somewhere else. Portuguese officials considered moving the city after it was devastated by what is believed to be the strongest earthquake ever to strike modern Europe, in 1755, followed by a tidal wave as high as a double-decker bus and a six-day inferno that turned sand into glass. Lisbon's charm is legendary, but its rich, 2,000-year history is not widely known. This single-volume history provides an unrivaled and intimate portrait of the city and an entertaining account of its colourful past. It reveals that in Roman times the city was more important than initially thought, possessing a large theatre and hippodrome. The 1147 Siege of Lisbon was a dramatic medieval battle that was a key part of the Iberian reconquista. As Portugal built an empire spanning four continents, its capital became a wealthy international bazaar. The Portuguese king's cort©·ge was led by a rhinoceros which was followed by five elephants in gold brocade, an Arabian horse and a jaguar. The Portuguese were the world's biggest slavers, and by the mid-16th century around 10 percent of the Lisbon's population was black, imbuing the city with an African flavour it has retained. Invasion by Napoleon's armies, and the assassination of a king and the establishment of a republic, also left their marks. The city's two bridges over the River Tagus illustrate the legacy of a 20th-century dictator and Portugal's new era in Europe."--Publisher's description.

Ron Chernow tells the story of a man who overcame all odds to shape, inspire, and scandalize the newborn America. Few figures in American history have been more hotly debated or more grossly misunderstood than Alexander Hamilton. Chernow's biography argues that the political and economic greatness of today's America is the result of Hamilton's countless sacrifices to champion ideas that were often wildly disputed during his time. Chernow here recounts Hamilton's turbulent life: an illegitimate, largely self-taught orphan from the Caribbean, he came out of nowhere to take America by storm, rising to become George Washington's aide-de-camp in the Continental Army, coauthoring The Federalist Papers, founding the Bank of New York, leading the Federalist Party, and becoming the first Treasury Secretary of the United States. Historians have long told the story of America's birth as the triumph of Jefferson's democratic ideals over the aristocratic intentions of Hamilton. Chernow presents an entirely different man, whose legendary ambitions were motivated not merely by self-interest but by passionate patriotism and a stubborn will to build the foundations of American prosperity and power. His is a Hamilton far more human than we've encountered before -- from his shame about his birth to his fiery aspirations, from his intimate relationships with childhood friends to his titanic feuds with Jefferson, Madison, Adams, Monroe, and Burr, and from his highly public affair with Maria Reynolds to his loving marriage to his loyal wife Eliza. And never before has there been a more vivid account of Hamilton's famous and mysterious death in a duel with Aaron Burr in July of 1804.

Wicker, Tom. Dwight D. Eisenhower. First edition. New York : Times Books, 2002. An American hero at the close of World War II, General Dwight Eisenhower rode an enormous wave of popularity into the Oval Office seven years later. Though we may view the Eisenhower years through a hazy lens of 1950s nostalgia, historians consider his presidency one of the least successful. At home there was civil rights unrest, McCarthyism, and a deteriorating economy; internationally, the Cold War was deepening. But despite his tendency toward "brinksmanship," Ike would later be revered for "keeping the peace." Still, his actions and policies at the onset of his career, covered by Tom Wicker, would haunt Americans of future generations.

"From the daughter of one of America's most virulent segregationists, a memoir that reckons with her father George Wallace's legacy of hate -- and illuminates her journey towards redemption. Peggy Wallace Kennedy has been widely hailed as the 'symbol of racial reconciliation' (Washington Post). In the summer of 1963, though, she was just a young girl watching her father stand in a schoolhouse door as he tried to block two African-American students from entering the University of Alabama. This man, former governor of Alabama and presidential candidate George Wallace, was notorious for his hateful rhetoric and his political stunts. But he was also a larger-than-life father to young Peggy, who was taught to smile, sit straight, and not speak up as her father took to the political stage. At the end of his life, Wallace came to renounce his views, although he could never attempt to fully repair the damage he caused. But Peggy, after her own political awakening, dedicated her life to spreading the new Wallace message -- one of peace, penance, and compassion. In this powerful new memoir, Peggy looks back on the politics of her youth and attempts to reconcile her adored father with the man who coined the phrase 'Segregation now. Segregation tomorrow. Segregation forever.' Timely and timeless, The Broken Road speaks to change, atonement, activism, and racial reconciliation"--.

Prologue -- Lazy B -- Stanford -- The golden couple -- Majority leader -- Arizona judge -- The President calls -- Inside the Marble Palace -- Scrutiny -- FWOTSC -- Cancer -- A woman's role -- Civil religion -- Bush v. Gore -- Affirmative action -- End game -- Labor of love. "Based on exclusive interviews and access to the Supreme Court archives, this is the intimate, inspiring, and authoritative biography of America's first female Justice, Sandra Day O'Connor--by New York Times bestselling author Evan Thomas. She was born in 1930 in El Paso and grew up on a cattle ranch in Arizona. At a time when women were expected to be homemakers, she set her sights on Stanford University. When she graduated near the top of her class at law school in 1952, no firm would even interview her. But Sandra Day O'Connor's story is that of a woman who repeatedly shattered glass ceilings--doing so with a blend of grace, wisdom, humor, understatement, and cowgirl toughness. She became the first-ever female majority leader of a state senate. As a judge on the Arizona State Court of Appeals, she stood up to corrupt lawyers and humanized the law. When she arrived at the Supreme Court, appointed by Reagan in 1981, she began a quarter-century tenure on the court, hearing cases that ultimately shaped American law. Diagnosed with cancer at fifty-eight, and caring for a husband with Alzheimer's, O'Connor endured every difficulty with grit and poise. Women and men today will be inspired by how to be first in your own life, how to know when to fight and when to walk away, through O'Connor's example. This is a remarkably vivid and personal portrait of a woman who loved her family and believed in serving her country, who, when she became the most powerful woman in America, built a bridge forward for the women who followed her"--. Wow I gotta say the Data Luxord showdown wasn’t...
*S C R E A M S because I’m still stuck on him*))

You can do it! Just don’t be afraid of taking your sweet time figuring his ins and outs. Don’t wanna spoil the experience, buuut I do have one lil baby tip that you probably do already.
Try sticking your potions on where your fast cast button spells (like cure/thunder) be at, this gauntlet beat that habit into me and it’s surprising how much of a lifesaver having that quickly on hand can be.
I’M ROOTING FOR YOU!!

5x13, I actually enjoyed this ep. The WA scene in the beginning was cute. B being supportive as always, it’s funny that he decorated a whole ass loft but didn’t know where to put a couch. I’m going with he just wanted some attention from his bae who wasn’t giving him the time of day. I also love how his whooshing around is so normal to I that it doesn’t even phase her when he’s doing it. I love that we got to see I investigating this ep. She actually tracked down C & inflicted some damage 1/2
Her journalism tied into the main plot of catching C, imagine that. B&R SL was funny. B having no chill then trying to act like a hardcore criminal. The chemist 😂. I’m convinced. I’m not going to lie it was sexy. The shoot out was fun, a bit over the top but fun. I actually liked Goldface, he was different than any other villain the Flash had faced. Had a bit of swag to him. The whole C weakness part was something else that didn’t go anywhere even tho is was great seeing I as a badass 2/2
Yeah, I also enjoyed 5x13, because it really integrated Iris’s journalism into the main plot, while letting her be a badass, AND neatly paralleled her B-plot with Barry and Ralph’s A-plot. I agree: the Westallen scene at the beginning was super cute, and I hope we see a lot more of these kinds of adorable scenes at The Citizen this upcoming season. Barry was just whooshing around her office, trying to decorate, and Iris was so unfazed by this, because of how used to it she is, plus she was so intently focused on her work.
Barry and Ralph going undercover as criminals was a fun story-line, and Barry’s whole “The Chemist” speech was highkey extra, but also super hot. I think my favorite part of this story-line, though, was how Barry relied on his intelligence to outsmart Goldface. And yeah, Goldface was definitely one of the stronger villains of the week on the show.
I loved seeing Iris be a bit reckless and be the intrepid reporter that she is. I loved seeing her collect leads and then breaking into Dwyer’s home, and I liked seeing how quickly she thought on her feet when he caught her. It was great seeing her be a badass, and I loved how she discovered his weakness with her pen. I also liked how her altercation with Cicada paralleled Barry’s showdown with Goldface. And yeah, the discovery of Cicada I’s weakness really came to be nothing, because it was only important for the (forced) administration of the cure, but then Barry decided that they needed his consent before administration of the cure in 5x16, anyways. Nonetheless, it was great seeing Iris be a badass and fend for herself.

2018 was a strange year for me when it came to reading. I wasn't as interested in new publications, and many of last year’s YA and middle grade novels wound up on my DNF pile. In fact, I quit reading more novels in 2018 than I have quit in the previous 24 years of my life. Combined. So here are my top picks for the new releases that I did find myself drawn to:
Runaways Vol. 5 - Rainbow Rowell (Writer) & Kris Anka (Illustrator)
Why I love it:
diverse cast of characters with POC, LGBT, and QPOC representation
queer girls who aren’t sexualised for the male gaze
plus-sized Jewish girl who isn’t the butt of a joke, gets the guy, and is just as cool as her more “conventionally attractive” counterparts
psychic dinosaur pal
Rainbow Rowell’s Runaways is a continuation of one of my all-time favourite comic book series. It follows a group of teenage runaways whose parents secretly control the criminal underground of LA while also serving a bunch of elder gods who want to eliminate humanity. The original series saw the kids taking down their parents, striking out on their own, and attempting to do the superteam thing. In the revived series, the team is back—including a few members who we thought were lost forever—and trying to pick up the pieces. It’s mostly slice-of-life and family/relationship drama, tying up loose ends, and occasionally dealing with the remaining consequences of their parents’ involvement with the Gibborim. After everything this group went through in volumes I-IV, it’s nice to see them getting to be a relatively normal family. I don’t think their peace and quiet will last, but we’ll see where it goes.
Vengeful (Villains: Book 2) - V.E. Schwab
Why I love it:
Fresh take on the superhero genre
Amazing characters
I’m a sucker for a good anti-hero
Dol is the best dog
This much anticipated sequel to Vicious sees anti-hero Victor Vale coping with the side effects of being resurrected by Sydney, an EO with the ability to raise the dead. As he hunts for a cure, an old frenemy is hunting for him, leading to a (possibly) final showdown. One of my favourite things about this book was Marcella. As Queen V said earlier this year, Vicious was all about male power and toxicity, but Vengeful is more about female power. And let me tell you, Marcella is a badass. She is the embodiment of 2018’s fury about toxic masculinity and sexism, and every woman who’s had enough of men running everything should read this series.
Sweep - Jonathan Auxier
Why I love it:
Beautiful writing
Historical fiction/magical realism mash-up
Explores mythology that is neither Greek nor Roman
If you enjoy any of Kate DiCamillo’s novels, you will love Sweep, a melancholy tale about a young chimney sweep’s assistant who gets caught in a fire and is rescued by a soot golem. She befriends and raises the golem, even teaching him to read, and together they help give other indentured children a voice. The author perfectly captures the quiet misery of a climber’s life, and definitely made me cry; these are not the same kind of chimney sweeps you might find in Mary Poppins. Read this one if you need a sad winter book, or if you just really need to feel things.
Seafire - Natalie C. Parker
Why I love it:
Steampunk pirate ladies
POC, queer, QPOC, and Deaf representation
This was, by far, my favourite YA book of the year. The first in a new trilogy, Seafire is all about a ragtag crew of pirate girls plotting to take down a naval warlord. It’s packed with girl power, futuristic solar-powered ships, diverse characters, and complex relationships. Seafire was a fresh take on the dystopian trope, and I really hope that it will help to rejuvenate a genre that has become somewhat stagnant.
Emergency Contact - Mary H.K. Choi
Why I like it:
Sam
Humour that actually made me laugh instead of roll my eyes
Relatable awkward love story
Mary H.K. Choi’s debut novel is a new adult romance about an awkward freshman English major and an anxiety-ridden barista. You may have noticed that I listed reasons to like it, rather than love it, and that’s because this book had to grow on me. When I first reviewed Emergency Contact, I think I gave it three stars, but I have since realised that I liked it more than I thought I did. For the first sixty pages, I wanted to give up and call it a lost cause. I found the writing style condescending, and I really didn’t like Penny, but I did love Sam. He really saved this one for me. I read specifically for his chapters and genuinely enjoyed the book once he became more of a central character.
Undead Girl Gang - Lily Anderson
Why I love it:
Wicca gone wrong
Latina teen witch
New take on zombies
When I first got my ARC of Undead Girl Gang, I instantly fell in love with the cover because I, like every other sane person in 2018, appreciate a good girl gang and a good enamel pin. That being said, I thought it would be an okay read, maybe kind of cheesy, but not something that I would find myself recommending over and over again. I was wrong. This book was great, and I couldn't put it down. It has murder mysteries, magic mix-ups, zombie teens, and a twist that I didn't expect at the end. It’s perfect for anyone looking for a fantasy/magical realism stand-alone in the endless sea of six-volume series.

Keicho explains that he had been creating new Stand users in the hopes of finding an ability that can kill his father, who has been doing nothing but searching through an old chest. Using Crazy Diamond's ability, Josuke discovers that the father was searching for a torn up photograph of his family, hinting that he still retains memories of his old life. Just as Josuke offers to help Keicho and Okuyasu find a way to cure their father in exchange for the bow and arrow, Keicho is attacked by the electrical Stand, Red Hot Chili Pepper, who steals the bow and arrow and kills Keicho by dragging him through an electrical outlet. As Jotaro receives a warning from Red Hot Chili Pepper's user not to interfere any further, Okuyasu decides to befriend Josuke and go to school with him.
Pop Team Epic EP#12 Finale - The Age of Pop Team Epic: Popuko and Pipimi have a final showdown against the evil organization trying to stop their anime, King Records. After the credits in the second half, there is a teaser trailer for a second season of Hoshiiro Girldrop.
My Hero Academia EP#19 - The Boy Born with Everything: The 16 remaining students advance to the final stage, with battles one on one to decide the winner. Before the fights begin, Todoroki has a private talk with Izuku, revealing the reasons for his hatred toward his father, the world's second-best hero Endeavor.
Black Clover EP#39 - Three-Leaf Salute: The traitor is Gueldre Poizot, Captain of the Purple Orca squad. Gueldre turns invisible and flees. Asta senses Gueldre through his Qi and uses his sword to nullify his invisibility. Gueldre is then trapped in a magic painting created by Rill Boismortier, Captain of the Aqua Deer Squad. Gueldre has his memories examined which reveals all his crimes; including kidnapping a Guardian Mage to remove the capital's defense for the Midnight Sun's assault. As the captains are leaving it is shown that one of them was actually Rhya the Disloyal in disguise, though which captain he was impersonating is not shown. The Wizard King tells Yami and Asta that Charlotte and George also revealed information about the stone tablet. They intend to collect all the missing magical stones so they can be reborn in their original, more powerful bodies. Four stones are still missing, and they only know the location of one in the Underwater Temple, an area of strong magic almost impossible to reach without dying. The Wizard King asks the Black Bulls to retrieve the stone as of the nine squads they have the least ties to family and will not be missed if they die. Yami flashes back to his youth as a foreigner, shipwrecked on the Clover Kingdom's coast, isolated from society even after receiving his Grimoire while gaining his first friend in Julius Novachrono before he became the current Wizard King. Yami agrees to the mission and the entire Black Bull squad begin preparing for a trip to the beach, including Noelle who panics at having to buy a bikini.
Hunter x Hunter: The Chimera Ant Arc EP#112 - Monster × And × Monster: Gon's party confronts Youpi while Pouf and Pitou rush to the palace to assist the king, who is distraught with Komugi's condition as she gets herself badly injured during the attack.
One-Punch Man EP#06 - The Terrifying City: Saitama tries to come up with ideas for mentoring Genos, but when Genos mentions that C-class heroes who are inactive for more than a week are dropped from their registry, he rushes around to look for petty villains around town without much success. Sonic appears to try to settle their alleged rivalry, but Saitama finds him annoying. Tank-Top Tiger reproaches Saitama for his antics and tries to absorb the credit of being a hero when Sonic attacks them and the populace. Saitama realizes Sonic is doing villanous things and swiftly taps him on the back, knocking him out cold, saving the day.
Later that day, a mysterious being was seen skulking around frightening the few masses who lived in the desolate Z-City; perturbed at not being sent out to deal with it, Tatsumaki berates the assignment staff. They have already sent out A-Class' Golden Ball and Spring Mustachio out to the scene. In Z-City the two aforementioned heroes are busy patrolling the streets, wondering about a rumor of a pretty dangerous monster who lives in said area. After finding next to nothing on the job, they eventually find signs of said Mysterious Being and chase after it. Running into Kombu Infinity, who also heard rumors of a powerful group of monsters in the city, engaged the duo and easily swats the best efforts of both aside. Realizing they are outmatched, Mustachio dials for reinforcements just before he is swiftly defeated. Upset that his opponents were so weak, Kombu sets out to create the rumor he and his fellow monsters initially heard about; soon after Saitama returns from a market sale, when Kombu notices him as the former relents on not having been able to secure some kombu soup stalk just before the monster attacks him. When next seen, Saitama is just cooking some kombu soup when Genos comes in. Later Tatsumaki is seen berating the assignment staff for not sending her in to fight. In the post-credits, Genos tells Saitama that, while he's in 17th place within the S-class, he's ranked 6th in popularity, much to Saitama's dismay.
Samurai Jack: The Complete Series will return to Toonami this Saturday at 3:30 AM.

John wants to say: Augmentation circuits report temperature, pressure, various forms of quantitative input. Sudden changes are reported as pain, since sudden changes are dangerous, and pain is the quickest way to encourage reflexive extraction. But all John can manage is, “Nng.” Because this sudden touch is not reporting as pain. Part 2 of STATIC
To Light Another's Path by BeautifulFiction (E, 128,654 w. || Post-TGG, Sick Fic, Hurt/Comfort, Drug Addiction / Recreational Drug Use, First Time / Kiss, Case Fic) – Teaching John to observe seems to be a losing battle, but when Sherlock falls ill and submits himself to John's care, will he realise that there is more to life than the science of deduction? Meanwhile, there is a murder to solve, and John must try and convince Sherlock not to sacrifice his own health for the sake of the case.

It’s another gods-be-damned Time Travel Concept Fic
Yeah so I’m calling this one A Widening Gyre because I’m not at all pretentious. XP
IN FAIR KONOHA WE SET OUR SCENE
Rin was a jinchuriki and we all know that those people don’t die easy, so she totes survives the chidori to the chest. The need to heal from near-death let Obito have his dramatic breakdown in the rain over her (not-quite) dead body plus gave Minato enough wiggle room to fix the faults and traps in Rin’s seal.
Rin was declared KIA though, and her survival was classified to protect her from Kiri trying to get the Sanbi back and also to keep the Elder Council from fucking with her. “Turtle” joins ANBU under the command of “Wolf” and they are the scariest dual act ANBU has seen for a long time. Like, holy shit. Then “Tiger” joins their team right after “Wolf” gets his Captain promotion, and the addition of Mokuton is frankly ridiculous. Then “Crow” joins the team right as Kushina announces her pregnancy and this is just. They are all approx. 4 feet tall and the most terrifying ANBU team Konoha has and no one knows how to deal with this. (There are rumours about an ANBU trainee going by “Raven” and FFS T&I isn’t paid enough to deal with this nonsense.)
Obito is a sensor (natural or trained IDK but he has that skill set) and he gets sidetracked on his way to Naruto’s birth b/c “That’s... that’s Rin.” Things happen, reunion of the Team plus “You’re alive!” drama is interrupted by Danzo being a giant bag of dicks, ROOT shenanigans ensue because Kinoe is also “Tiger” and KakaRin are possessive little shits. To say nothing of how Shisui reacts to the idea of someone being more important to his teammate than him. (Fucking Uchiha drama queens I swear...)
This is all taking place while Kushina is in labour BTW. WTF people how are you fitting this many feels into less than 12 hours I am impressed by this. Danzo was expecting Zetsu and “Madara” to back him up r.e. disposing Minato and getting the Kyuubi shoved in a more manageable host but Obito is la~ate and also KakaRin have v. strong grips, like wow do you work out?
Kakashi and his-name-is-Tenzo-now’s weird bromance drama comes to a climax when Danzo is chased back to his HQ by the Hokage’s v. pissed off guard team. (Hi Genma and Raido welcome to the madness.)
So it turns out that Danzo took over Tobirama’s old lab as ROOT’s main base but missed a few experiments pretending to be part of the security system. Oops. So Kamui plus experimental seals plus the Hiraishin markers carried by Genma and Raido and Kakashi plus an attempt to interfere with Rin’s containment seal means it all goes BOOM
Upside: Kyuubi stays sealed.
Downside: Sanbi goes on a rampage instead.
This is the last we see of the future Konoha timeline kthnksbye~eee...
NEW SCENE SETTING: THE WARRING CLANS ERA
Rin is out of it b/c Sanbi was forcibly removed from her chakra coils
Upside: She gets to keep a larger reserve of chakra than what she was born with naturally, keeps a few of the jinchuriki perks like rapid healing, and her chakra control is back to medic-inn levels for the first time in almost 2 years!
Downside: Motherfucking ow.
Rin is down, therefore Danzo did something to her so KakaObi don’t hesitate in aiming to kill. Genma and Raido trust Kakashi and back him up but oh look Danzo has stolen sharingan eyes implanted in a creepy zombie arm oh very shit forever.
EPIC SHOWDOWN!! FIGHT!!
KakaObi are scary AF and also apparently share a brain. Danzo is made v. dead before they even realize that they’ve been shot-put through time as well as space. But leftover Zetsu shit/heart seal is triggered when Danzo tries to not die but Kakashi gets in the way b/c he’s not losing Obito again. MAGIC NINJA DEATH CURSE NO JUTSU idk I’ll figure out the details later but OH NO Kakashi is poisoned and Obito is distraught b/c Kakashi just jumped on the sword for Obito again this is not a theme Obito likes to see reoccur fuck you universe.
The antidote only grows along the seashore so ANBU Team Baby Genii Ne minus Wolf do a suicide run to Wave Country and back.
Without Danzo around Kakashi, at 14 years of age, is the highest ranked Leaf Shinobi. ROOT proceeds to imprint like ducklings.
Shit friends I just realized that Kabuto is still in ROOT at this point excellent now Genma can be the poison specialist and Kabuto can be the baby medic and they can work together to keep Kakashi alive while Obito threatens to kill everything (except Rin) if Kakashi dies.
Alrighty fuck it let’s make it a party. Anko’s there too b/c she followed the mayhem b/c she knows that Danzo had something to do with Orochimaru’s defection but her Curse Seal gets the same yoink treatment as Rin’s Bijuu Seal and now Anko’s 100% doing the deputy thing while Raido arranges the patrols. (Radio may not have the highest rank in their group but he is the oldest so that’ll have to do)
Tiny baby Sai and Shin are the cutest murder babies aww... (Also get to indulge my HC that newborn Uchiha have red eyes instead of blue so Itachi and Shisui know from the get-go that Sai is an Uchiha.)
Speaking of murder babies Itachi is trying v. hard not to think about never seeing Sasuke or his parents again. (FFS Itachi is the only one of these jackasses to canonically have living parents at this point in the TL. Except Rin but TBH she’s been pretending to be dead for the last 2 years so I don’t think she counts anymore.) Itachi is going to latch onto Sai so hard as a replacement baby bro omg Itachi stahp
War interruptus via Kakashi’s ANBU team plus All The Baby ROOT Agents. This will be fun!
Team Ne is gonna bulldoze through a Senju patrol on their way out to the shore. Tobirama was not expecting a hostile Mokuton user to defend a couple of Uchiha and also the girl they were with broke a tree with her fist and then it melted. Toka definitely saves Tobirama’s pasty ass b/c his instincts forget to dodge IRT Mokuton jutsu.
Team Ne is also going to trip over an Uchiha patrol and Itachi is high-key going to not!cry b/c Izuna looks hella like Mikoto/Sasuke and Itachi misses them. Shisui does a lot of high velocity absconding with his teammates come on ppl keep running pls. Izuna is so confused by tiny Uchiha not knowing who he is and running around with some random not!Uchiha WTH?
For max drama Team Ne will blast through a big battle, interrupt Hashirama and Madara’s posturing, accidentally save Izuna’s life (thanks, Shisui) and then bravely run away without ever slowing down. Senju and Uchiha call truce while they figure out WTF is up with those kids and track them down.
This team-up thing does give both sides a chance to see the “Hashirama And Madara Show” up close. Madara lovingly and eloquently details all the many and varied ways Hashirama is an idiot (it sounds an awful lot like Tobirama’s most uncharitable thoughts re. his brother. Only blunter.) Hashirama just laughs and agrees with Madara WTF Anija? The Hashirama does his best to hug Madara to death b/c they are apparently the cuddling type of sworn enemies (Izuna is horrified and so offended. He’s the only one allowed to snuggle the grumps out of Madara!) Izuna and Tobirama are the world’s most resentful team-up ever but they’re doing their v. best to keep their older bros apart b/c no, Anija, just no.
They find the Konoha camp b/c Tobirama is a stupidly strong sensor and Hashirama can tell where the trees got bent by Mokuton. They were not expecting to find nothing but children. Raido is the oldest and he’s only like 19-ish I think? Plus ROOT kiddos are suu~uuper creepy-tactic omg.
NOW BACK IT UP A LITTLE!!
SR timeskip mostly consists of Kakashi escaping his medic, making Obito panic, and bonding with the ROOT minions (this involves a lot of spitting on Danzo’s grave TBH. They all find it v. therapeutic.) The worst of the poison’s effects are being mitigated by Genma’s antidotes and Kabuto’s treatments but that’s just a delaying tactic to prevent total system shutdown so Team Ne really needed to hurry the fuck up.
Obito is A Mess b/c Zetsu/Danzo were just using him to hit Kakashi (just like the Iwa-nin who took Kakashi’s eye and you know that means something more to an Uchiha than the standard shinobi but Obito can't fix the poison damage from progressing though spontaneous organ donation.) Kakashi keeps Obito distracted and busy growing a fortified encampment for all his adorable new minions. Genma and Raido are just glad not to have the terrifying Uchiha powerhouse threatening to turn them inside out every 10 minutes thanks muchly.
Captain Wolf has already managed to take over as the focus of the ROOT agent’s personality cult. Obito is now the leading member of the Kakashi fan club (b/c Tenzo is off on the SR at the time, nat.) Genma and Raido are Concerned b/c Kakashi hasn’t been emotionally stable since he was 6 y/o there’s no way him being a role model for 100 brainwashed baby assassins will end well.
Anko thinks everything is hysterical and she’s so glad she stuck her nose in where it wasn’t wanted this is better than Icha Icha. Izumi’s just happy someone got her away from Danzo before he could fuck up her head/mess with her eyes too much. (This was the most horrible side effect of her betrothal to Itachi being announced how did Danzo even get her out of the compound FFS?)
11th hour arrival by Team Ne with the antidote means Rin, Genma, Kabuto, Obito, and Tenzo are all v. busy when the Uchiha/Senju combo team find the Konoha camp.
So then Kakashi wakes up after being cured and there’s more weirdness b/c Obito has both his eyes but Kakashi’s left eye is still red and works like a Sharingan but it isn’t a sharingan obvs. but they still share a field of vision and Obito’s left eye is silver when the sharingan is turned off and Rin is 100% done with both of them defying medical convention. There is a lot of head scratching and pointing of fingers before they hug it out is what I’m saying.
Team Ne thinks this is adorable and super romantic and the entire camp ships it so hard you have no idea. I might make this Rin Demi-Ace b/c then her crush on 9 y/o Kakashi when she’s 13 is much more understandable. (A squish just fits better to the situation IMHO.) Also ace!Rin would 100% be the one to join forces with bb!Kabuto to create (recreate? precreate?) Orochimaru’s test-tube-baby no jutsu in the WCE.
SRTS IS DONE NOW YAY NOW TO FUCK WITH THE FOUNDERS
Raido is A Wall and he never anticipated using his ANBU training to waylay the 1st and 2nd Hokage WTF is even his life but Teamwork! and TWOF means Standing Strong even if Uchiha Madara is Scary AF wow and Raido thought seeing Fugaku-dono walk into a room was bad.
Kakashi is cured (yay!) and also gets to arrive dramatically on the scene of confrontation and verbally bitchslap everyone into calming TF down b/c I Have A Headache And I’m Tired Of Your Shit. Rabidly overprotective ObiRin are rabid and overprotective. Also Obito is super Uncanny Valley b/c he looks just like Madara and Tobirama is busy having a heart attack b/c this “Captain” person has Itama’s eyes (red and grey) and Tenzo has Mokuton and is maybe reminding him too much of Kawarama and also Itachi has the same grump lines as Madara and Shisui has Izuna’s smile.
Yeah so everyone from the WCE is pretty much convinced that their “dead” siblings were kidnapped instead and the large number of Clan children Danzo kidnapped for ROOT doesn’t actually do much except convince them they’re right. Kakashi OFC decides to play along WTF you giant troll and what the Captain says goes so the tiny minions aren’t arguing and Genma’s like FFS it’s the WCE I want to live agree with the terrifying figures of legend already you idiots.
Note that at this point Obito is still gaslighted to believe that Madara wants world peace and no wars ever and irony at it’s best is that this iteration of Madara is still at the point in his life where he actually does still have solid moral objections to children dying b/c their Clan Leaders can’t keep a fucking peace treaty. So yeah.
Tobirama and Madara are in raptures over their “little brothers” still being alive and also found. Obito is v. affectionate b/c he “remembers” Madara. Shisui is also super cuddly. Itachi mostly just stares and is confused by human interaction. Kakashi is Fierce and nearly feral and makes Hashirama cry a bit and Tobirama is So Mad b/c Itama was a gentle boy what happened and Tenzo was Kinoe until literally just last week and he’s v. much not the happy kid Kawarama was.
So much jealousy when Kakashi lets Obito cuddle him. Kakashi Ignores Them and just keeps commanding everyone around while being princess carried by the homicidal Uchiha. Which... Obito having Mouton confuses the Senju team so much but Hashirama is so excited b/c Tenzo (”Kawarama!” / “My name is Tenzo, Senju-dono.”) has Mokuton too and now he has people to practice with!
So that whole thing where the Senju and the Uchiha HATE each other b/c dead kids gets massively derailed like whoa b/c look they’re alive and also someone else has been playing silly buggers to make all the Clans keep doing the War Things so. So the Senju and the Uchiha still don’t like each other much but they hate ROOT more. Zetsu circa. WCE finds it 111% impossible to manipulate things from behind the scenes b/c They’re On To Him.
So Konoha gets founded like 10 to 15 years earlier than in canon b/c none of the Konoha-nin are willing to leave their Captain and also strength in numbers b/c someone’s been stealing our babies is really up there so far as motivation to maintain cordial relations with other Ninja Clans goes. Other Clans joining Konoha happens both faster and with more issues b/c ROOT kids are many things but normally socialized is not one of them.
Do I hate Kakashi enough to make him Shodaime? TBH it’d be hella funny and the other Nations Are Not Prepared for trolling on Kakashi’s level even if it’s just baby troll Kakashi.
POLITICS and ninja diplomacy ensue.
TBH I just wanna see Tobirama slam Madara up against a wall and fuck him crosseyed. Hashirama was Not Emotionally Prepared to realize that his little brothers and their libidos were already acquainted. Izuna decides that Itachi is his favourite b/c Itachi’s the only one not fucking a Senju. (Joke’s on him though b/c both polyamory and Senju Toka are things that exist.)
Endgame is for TobiMada, ObiKakaRin, ShiTen, MitoHashi, TokaIzuKanna (Kanna is my OC stand-in for Izuna’s unnamed canonical wife), ItaIzumi, GenRai. Not sure that it’s much important b/c Romance not really a major plot point and also Kakashi is 14 y/o through this whole thing but also ninja mature quick so maybe it’s more important that I think it’s gonna be? I dunno whatevs guys that’s all I’ve got except for maybe some timestamps later.
TA DAH THE END!!
Anyway yeah, I needed to get this written down somewhere b/c it would not Leave Me Alone while I was trying to write other things.

He says killing her would be more easier then catching her alive. She doesn’t need to say her name as Kakuzu already knew about her. Stands in battle position. She summons couple of clones - tells them to go get help. She knows she’s going to have hard time with the rouge ninja with strange creature he’s controlling. Doesn’t know what else he’s capable of. As they fought, he summoned one more black gooey creature, now she’s fighting off two of them as she’s fighting Kakuzu as well. Kakuzu gives her a compliment by saying she fights well for a kid. Most people, especially a young one, don’t make it this far in fight with him. She doesn’t reply as she’s focused on not getting hurt or killed. Just in time, reinforcements arrived from behind Kakuzu and his creatures, surrounding him. Kakuzu becomes mad and makes one black creatures fight off the team behind him. He has no choice, but to run away. Once he’s far away enough, he summons the black creature into his back. Kakuzu manages to escape, but lost black gooey creature to a team. Tsumeato and the team looks at the broken mask of puddle black creature. Determine that it’s dead. The team decides to accompany Tsumeato until she reaches her destination of her mission. She gets their safely and the team departs from her to go back to their village.
