Calendar Girl

Page Monroe had been a highly successful fashion model and actress.  Her gorgeous face was plastered across countless magazine, billboards and television screens and she walked in fashion shows all over the world.  As she grew older, however, it became increasingly difficult to stay atop of the industry.   Before long, younger models were being offered jobs that used to go to her.  

Vigorous exercise regimens, dieting and plastic surgeries failed to regain Monroe her former fame.  Enraged, she became a recluse and disappeared.

Years later, Monroe reemerged as the mysterious masked villainess known as The Calendar Girl.  Armed with thematic weapons and flanked by henchmen, Monroe abducted the key individuals whom she saw as responsible for the demise of her career.  This included a noted fashion designer and an automobile magnate.

Batman and Batgirl were able to surmise The Calander Girl’s true identity and tracked her down to an abandoned nightclub called ‘Faces.’  

The two were able to defeat the villainess and her goons and rescue her hostages.  When the police arrived to take the suspects into custody, Detective Bullock removed Calendar Girl’s mask.  She shrieked in horror, not wanting anyone to see her horrible visage.  Which was quite confusing in that her face was actually quite beautiful.  Batman remarked that the agism of society had twisted Monroe to the point that she could only see herself as ugly.  

Actress  Sela Ward provided the voice for Page Monroe, with the villainess appearing in the ninth episode of the first season of The New Batman Adventures, ‘Mean Seasons.’

Batober 2023 Day 13 - Vanity

even after deciding on this idea for this prompt it didn't feel right. i wouldn't call Paige's motive in this story 'vanity',even though it's still a theme in the episode overall. even the closing line from Batman,wether intentionally or not(from Batman or the writers) can be taken as not her actions,but the effect or damage that's been done to her from what she has gone through. and countless people go through in real life.
