hiii re: your most recent post, im pretty sure i remember the voice actor of spanish dub dean confirming that y yo a ti was not scripted? there was a panel a while ago where either he or the spanish dub director said it was not scripted/part of the translation but was a choice made by the team on the day based on the rest of the work they had done on the series. sort of along the lines of like, they decided to add y yo a ti bc they knew the show well and knew that's the right response for dean? i would have to dig through 2 years of my blog to find a source for this but I do remember it

ah yes! i honestly forgot about that one ksjshs. i've dug out a couple of posts: [one], [two], [three], and yes, it looks like it would've been the team's/director's choice based on that. some of the posts i linked here aren't 'official' sources, but neither are the recent posts about the translator's confirmations. though it's been almost three years and different people involved so i'm not too surpised about discrepancies

#just from personal experience - adding/removing/changing stuff as part of translation is quite common as in most cases you wouldn't be #translating word for word especially if we're talking about media etc. but i don't know much about script translating so maybe there are #different rules there. what i mean to say is that i wouldn't be surprised at all if the line was added by someone #though scripts do go through numerous changes so can't say what exactly happened there #the line could've been there in english at some point though that's obviously very much a random speculation not based on much #unfortunately i don't remember how many/if any versions of the script have been made public but might be something that could help #with clarifying stuff as well #spn trending asks

Here's my finished Starfire and Nightwing dolls! For Starfire, I coated her in a light layer of gold glitter paint and did her eyes in glittery green, then I sewed her a whole costume :D. For Nightwing, I painted over the light aqua(?) accents in a deeper, prettier blue and then added fingerstripes and blue soles to his boots and coated him in satin mod podge to look less plastic-y and more supersuit-y.

Yea #What am I even working towards? The hope that my version of capitalist hell isn't as bad as everyone else's? It's because my brain is recognising that there is no reward anymore #I used to have such a little spark in Yr7. I remember having things to say and wanting to share everything I've done #I still do that now; sure I do. I don't enjoy it though #I thought I liked drawing but I'm realising that all I really like is the attention. I COULD draw things I like drawing... but then I /#/ don't get attention which my mind then classifies as zero reward #I'm very tired of doing things for no credit; reward; or validation. Been watching some dbs related videos and I'm sosoo glad I gave up on that anime because oh my god the story gets worse with every arc. Wtf are they even doing anymore

#watched a vid summarizing the granolah arc and literally genuinely what was that #my favorite part was when frieza showed up outta nowhere with a new form he'd cultivated #in a alternate dimension that distorts time in a similar way that the room of space and time does #proceeded to one hit kill the big bad of the week. knock out goku and vegeta for shits and giggles and then dip #hilarious #but it was meant to be totally serious and to show that frieza's totallyyyy a threat again guys for real lets goo round 3 #and that was literally the most interesting part of the arc #Im so mad about the fucking bardock retcon #but not about the hypothetical wish he made. I remember reading somewhere that the English translation of the manga was incorrect #and ik a lot of people argue that the wish he made just retconned the whole message of dragon ball #but thats based on the English version of the manga #also speaking of bardock and retcons related to him Im still livid over the fact that they changed goku's origin story #to be an almost exact ripoff of superman's #and they retconned the start of the saiyan arc with that too #radirz said goku was sent to earth to destroy it as a baby. but now goku was sent to earth on purpose to save his life?#bullshit.
