There are no more heroes.

Well, okay. Rewind a bit.

Danny has been doing the hero thing for a while now. He’s had a big reveal; everyone has accepted him (including his parents), the GIW disbanded, the Anti-Ecto acts repealed, and generally, everything is going great. Some of the A-Listers are even training as junior ghost hunters to help give him a break from his rogues! (Being Ghost King makes things hectic sometimes, and he just needs the extra help. Sue him!)

The point is, literally nothing is wrong with Danny Phantom’s afterlife.

And then Valerie Gray, the Red Huntress, disappears in front of his eyes.

Danny is baffled! She’s just…gone! Valerie just popped out of existence, like she was never there. But no matter how hard he searches in the Ghost Zone, he can’t find her soul anywhere. His core isn't broken in grief. So she’s not dead. Which is good. So then, where is she?

Some of the others come forward with ideas on how to find her. A few ghosts volunteer to go out into the mortal realm, an area Danny had declared off-limits, to see if she was out there. Danny approves it. He rounds up some of the friendlier (i.e., discreet) ghosts and Amity Parkers and demolishes the outside travel ban.

So everyone spreads out, looking for their dear frenemy and teammate. But it becomes apparent very quickly that something is wrong with the rest of the world.

There are no more heroes.

Every single living superhero on the face of the Earth has just…vanished. Villains are running amok; the countries are in chaos! Some aliens are invading Earth, mythical deities are trying to take over, and society is crumbling to the ground. Everything is on the brink of collapse.

Well, Danny was still there. And so were his people. They were pretty spread out, so could they just…take up the mantles? He also knew where to find the souls of dead heroes in the Zone; surely they wouldn't mind coming out of retirement for a little bit, especially if they couldn't die again. Oh! And that skeleton army leftover from Pariah Dark's reign might be useful in repelling those invading forces.

Honestly, there were more than enough hands to go around! And with the heroes gone, Danny didn't mind letting everyone out for a little break, as long as they followed his rules. They wouldn't stop the search for the other heroes, but hopefully, when they found them, the heroes wouldn't mind Danny's intervention too much. :)

In other words:

Someone fucks up, and all of Earth's living heroes are either wished out of existence or are whisked away to some far-off realm where Danny hasn't checked yet. In the attempt to figure out what's going on, Danny lets the dead run amok over the Earth as they search for clues. The skeleton army repels the invading armies, the souls of dead heroes deal with the world leaders, and his rogues and other Amity Parkers set up shop in place of famous heroes, trying to get the cities under control again.

Basically, they just do their best to keep everything from imploding until the Justice League and others are back.

(And why is it that Danny hasn't disappeared? Well, whatever caused everyone to go poof! only affected living heroes. Anyone heroes that were dead in the first place, or even just half-dead, stayed behind.)

(Taking candy for a Fool AU Info)

Introducing "Taking candy for a Fool" Y/n, a Private investigator who has been hired by FAzbears competitors.

What do they want investigated you ask? Why, the only thing the company could care about of course!

Fazbears most Exclusive, expensive, and rare candy of all,

Fazbear's Sunnydrop and Moondrop!!

This unique Candy is highly sought after, and has a waitlist for about a year. The company Y/N was hired by, wants to get their hands on some to reverse engineer to make their own, believing there is no way that the creatures who shed them are the only way to make them.

Considering the wait list however, they are feeling impatient and have asked Y/N to get their hands on maybe leftover pieces, or even the broken ones that are bound to happen. Once that the company can't sell but certainly won't give away.

Y/N decides to start by joining the tours.

They come sporadically, making sure to not seem obviously investigating or obsessing over the factory and it's inhabitants.

Once they feel confident in searching deeper into the factory, they make their move to slip away form the tour, keeping their badge to have the excuse of wandering from the tour group.

Naturally, they find their way to the Candy creatures and watch over them, staying hidden until midnight in hopes of kindly asking to break off just a couple pieces of the drops on their wrists. They appear to be clothes of sorts after all.

Then Harvest time happens.

Thats when they see the Moondrops and Sunnydrops form from the creatures tears. One of the harvesters kept a bag near their faces to catch the rounding solid tears that fell from the poor creature's eyes.

Y/N Hides again when the harvest is over, and the workers leave the Candy creatures to their own devices. From the ceiling, two tubes that drip, what looked like Syrup (probably corn syrup), dangle just in reach of the recently broken beings.

Y/N considers their options as they watch these poor creature drink and heal, barely staying upright as they lean on one another.

not sure if this has been said somewhere, but im curious! what kind of romance routes are you planning on having in the vn? one poly route, 2 seperate routes, or seperate routes and a poly route? super excited by the way the art is fantastic<3<3<3 hope youre having a good day!

its all platonic for now! im more focused on the candy au lore and getting to know the characters (im a sucker for slow burns) but there will be some scenes that could be interpreted as romantic/flirty ^^

the end goal of the game isnt necessarily to date the candy boys, but instead to get to know them and help them

Okay but I was coming up for the plot of this and my brain rolled in your other prompt of 'I don't think pancakes are going to fix this. I think I need ice cream too. / Flynn ship of choice, romantic or platonic'

"Come join us at our summer job, Kayla, it will be fun, Kayla!" Kayla mocked as she flopped down on the too-hard mattress of her tiny bed in the Counselor's Cabin. "I just spent half an hour holding back a girl's hair while she puked because she ate two bags of sour gummy worms on a dare."

"Flynn had to break up a fight about who would be allowed to date Harry Styles once they made it big and they did not take it well when Flynn pointed out he was a thirty year old man and they were twelve," Julie said. She was equally flopped on her bed, but in the opposite direction, staring at the ceiling like she was regretting her life choices. "And a fourteen year old just nearly made me cry after I confiscated her vape."

"Fourteen year olds are vicious," Kayla agreed.

Sure, this 'pop star' camp was a pretty sweet gig. The environment was beautiful, they got to do what they loved, and they had copious amounts of free time when they handed the kids off to the boys - Willie and Reggie for more traditional camp stuff like horseback riding and archery, Alex for ballet where Kayla taught modern and hiphop dance, and Luke for songwriting.

Even though half the time Kayla stuck around at dance, Julie joined the songwriting workshops, and Flynn was always down to judge whatever weird games Willie or Reggie came up with for the kids.

And the kids were usually okay. Except for tonight. Maybe it was a full moon or something.

"Reggie just texted me that he and Luke had to put out a fire in one of the boys' cabins," Flynn reported. "And Willie heard something about them wanting to sneak out tonight and try and raid the girl's cabin, so he and Alex are driving into town to get some werewolf masks and gloves to patrol tonight."

"That'll be fun," Kayla said sagely. It would be a disaster, but that was a Willie and Alex problem.

"Why did we think this was a good idea again?" Flynn complained.

"The money," Kayla said.

"Looks good on college applications," Julie pointed out.

"Eff that, I should be at the club," Flynn whined.

"I should be at Build-A-Bear," Kayla sighed. Not as a summer job, mind you. She lasted like three days into her trial period before she accidentally exploded one of the bears by overfilling it and made a small child cry.

"Build-a-bear?" Julie asked, intrigued.

"It's my happy place," Kayla said. "You get to pick out something cute and soft and then see it come to life and dress it up in cute outfits and then you have something to hug." She stopped, realizing how uncool she sounded.

"Aw, now I want to go to Build-a-Bear," Julie whined.

"As soon as we have a day off, we're going, all three of us," Flynn declared. "But until then, let's raid the kitchen."

"Late night pancakes?" Kayla perked up. Julie's chocolate chip pancakes were legendary.

"I don't think pancakes are going to fix this," Flynn said. "I think I need ice cream too."

They were still halfway through a pint of the Good Stuff, hidden away behind some bags of peas in the big freezer, when the shrieks from near the boy's cabin started.

"We're going to need more ice cream," Julie groaned, as she looked out the window and saw lights coming on in all the cabins.

yves who meets his grandfather and he seems nice, but he's very strict and has a bunch of rules that he has to follow all the time. yves who quickly learns to stifle his cries until he's alone and makes sure to never show weakness in front of his grandfather

yves who doesn't really trust his cousins, except for gil. the rest of them always try to get him to trust him by talking badly about the rest of the family to him, but gil is nice. gil gives him sweets and takes him into town and even showed him a photo of his mother and aunt when they were young, but he gets sick so yves can't see him often :(

yves who quickly learns his uncle is terrifying and definitely not to be trusted. yves who keeps his head down, keeps his mouth shut, keeps to himself and avoids interacting with the emperor at all costs. if gil doesn't like the emperor, then neither does he, he decides

yves who is there right alongside gilbert when his oldest cousin mocks gil to his face about his mother's death, who says her and their brother were too weak and deserved to die as they did. yves who turns away as gil stabs him through the heart in rage and then helps hide the body later. yves who joins gilbert's plans for a coup d'état cleanse the empire of all its corrupt nobles

yves who is 16 when he learns of his grandfather's plans to eliminate gilbert on the emperor's orders, who skewers lord kloss before he can even try to hurt gil, who watches from behind as gilbert finally kills the emperor and throws the body off a cliff

yves who helps find and eliminate all those who are still loyal to the bloodthirsty politics of the previous emperor so that gil can achieve his goals of cleaning the country faster

yves who finds and brings roderich into the court, so that when if gil dies he can replace him and yves won't have to. yves who refuses to let gil die after everything he's done because he doesn't want to be left all alone again

yves goes to the border on gilbert's orders, who finds an injured little boy unconscious under a collapsed building and brings him back, so that even if he's too far gone to be saved he can at least get a proper burial along with all the other civilians who died in the war

yves who finds out this unconscious little boy could possibly be his half brother, who looks at his scrapes and injuries and wonders what kind of hellish family would have left him to die on the battlefield like that
