"Yes," he answered politely, playing with the straps of your seatbelt. He was a professional driver but seldom wore it in the passenger seat.

"Very nice eh? Must be the dream." the man complimented, moving his car away from a section of the airport. "We'll be going to ******," your boyfriend informs while fastening the seatbelt around your waist. "If you don't mind - I don't use those digital map thingies. I think that if you wanna be a taxi driver, you gotta know the roads." the man rambled, and your boyfriend continued smiling.

"Yeah, I guess that's the best way to get around things." he replied while playing with his phone. He couldn't believe that the both of you were unlucky enough to score a chatty driver. "How about the girl beside you? Is she your sister?" the man asks intrusively, and a nervous chuckle escapes both of your lips.

"No, she's uhh - my girlfriend." Max confirmed proudly, wrapping his free hand around you. "That very nice," the man nodded his head - trying to get out of a conversation that he started.

"I'm sorry but I got to take a wee," the man apologizes again and your boyfriend agrees; mumbling something along the lines that he understands. Once the taxi driver was out of the car, Max began to panic. "Where are you going?" you ask and he opens the door.

"I think we should get out," he informed you, taking your seatbelt off. "Why?" you inquire - caught in headlights in the sight of danger. "There might be a bomb here," he explained and your eyebrows merged into each other. "Like assassins sent by Ferrari or something," you attempt to lighten the situation but ultimately - the both of you exit the vehicle.

"Umm I don't know - probably something about a documentary," he shrugged, telling the cameras to leave you out of the frame.

"Wait really? Really?" the man repeated the question while taking his disguise off. An amused chuckle exits your lips - he was one of the interviewers for the sports channel. "Fucking hell mate," Max laughed, realizing that it was a setup. "I thought that you were some creep," he grinned while scratching the back of his head.

"He was prepared to run away," you say from behind the camera. "I hope it's fine that I exposed your relationship," the man apologized - quickly telling Max that it wasn't part of the plan. "Nah, you're fine mate - we've been meaning to tell the public anyways." he comforted - freezing once he sees the faint figure of your brother running towards the both of you.

“So Lando, how does it feel to be racing at your home grandprix” Lissie asks,

“I’m very excited, the support that I get at silverstone is unlike any others and I have my whole family here to watch me, well not my whole family, my younger sister Y/N will be missing but yes I’m excited to see what the race holds for me” Lando says, his smile widening at the mention of his younger sister.

“Wonderful! Good luck for the race” she says as he walks away waving at the fans. Little did he know, his family had a surprise planned for him.

As Lando walks in the garage, he spots his family, their backs were turned to him but he could spot her pigtails from miles away. When the girl turned around she immediately let out a squeal as she forcefully freed herself from her father’s grip to embrace her older brother.

“Y/N!!” He says lifting the girl up into the air, a giggle escapes her as her arms cage around his neck, her body resting on his hip. “I missed you so much” he says nuzzling her cheek with his nose, “I missed you too!!” she says tightening her arms around him.

“We just wanted to surprise you, Y/N missed you a lot” Adam says as he squishes his little girl’s cheeks to which she giggles at. Lando interacted with the rest of the family with his sister still resting at his hip. The little girl had always been on the shyer side and everyone around her knew that.

“Do you want to go meet the other drivers Y/N?” Lando asks her, her eyes immediately brightened up, “Yeah!” She says, he chuckles as he kisses her cheek.

Lando carried the young girl out of the hospitality and into the very lively paddock, it was the first time her family brought her to the paddock so it was natural for the young girl to feel overwhelmed by all the people, and the loud clicking of the cameras.

“Hey mate” someone calls out to Lando, as he turns around he sees Carlos, “Hey Daniel!” He responds as the girl shyly waves at the older man. He chuckles as he pinches her cheek, “and who’s this cutie here?” He asks him, “this is my youngest sister, Y/N” he says, a smile adorning his face, any one could see the love he held for his baby sister.

“Hey Y/N, it’s so nice to meet you!” Daniel exclaims, the girl shyly burries her face in her brother’s neck making both the men chuckle,

Soon enough a bunch of drivers had gathered around her, but she was in search of one driver, and once she spotted him, she screamed his name out.

“Lano! Look it’s Carlos” she pointed at him, Y/N has always been fond of Carlos considering he’s the only driver she’s met before. “Yeah it’s Carlos!” He says as he takes the eager girl to meet her second (1st) favorite driver.

“Hey Y/Nie!” Carlos says as he immediately takes the girl from Lando’s hold, “oh my, you’ve grown so big” he coos rocking the girl back and forth which made her giggle.

“I played golf” she says pridefully thinking back to the time when she saw her brother and Carlos playing golf, which made her want to play.

“I’m so proud of you! You’re better than Lando I’m sure” He whispers in her ear which makes her giggle, Carlos decides to play mind games on Lando, so he looks at Lando and whispers something in the little girls ears to chick she giggles again and nods.

“Ok Carlos that’s enough, give me my sister back” Lando says rolling his eyes, Carlos chuckles before transferring the girl back Into her brother’s arms, “remember what I said Y/Nie, good luck today Lando” He days before walking away to his hospitality.

“What’d he tell you Y/N?”

Ooooooh this idea of a third boyfriend is fueling my Carlos-Oscar beef thoughts.

I’m just imagining after Singapore Bunny, Lando, and Carlos spend the night together, and one of them accidentally butt dials Oscar in the midst of the evening.

Oscar picks up, thinking Bunny or Lando were going to tell him where to meet them at a bar or club, and instead he’s greeted by the sounds of Bunny and Lando moaning, with Carlos just domming the two of them. Carlos is telling Bunny things like “you know you and Lando want me more than just one night, mi cariña, let him hear how good I make him feel you and let him feel it as you moan against his cock”

Oscar is literally gripping his phone as he listens to the way Carlos teases his girlfriend and boyfriend, making sure they’re begging for more time with him, just a little more till they reach the edge when Carlos sees Oscar is on the phone, knowing that he’s with them and Oscar isn’t. Oscar would be furious at first, knowing it’s his rival making them feel this way and not him, but he’d find hishand slowly wandering down when he hears Bunny’s moans and the rough huff of Lando’s breath when he knows they’re close, he’s ready to plot and show them he’s the only one they need.

Though Carlos loves returning to that place of comfort where it was once just the three of them when he was on McClaren, he’s drawn to express this sentiment of it just being the three of them and talking about the nights they spent together even more knowing that he’s taunting the rookie who took what he views as his place in their bed. It makes him want to edge the two of them more and more so Oscar has to hear how they beg for him to let them cum, how good he makes them feel.

After it, Carlos is telling them to imagine what if it was like this every night, what if they could all go home together and if he was Bunny’s boyfriend, because who else knows their bodies so well and cooks them their favorite foods, whose parents looks at Bunny and Lando like they’re family already.. it only makes sense that they would just finally make it official. It’s coming from a sincere place but also one where he feels he’s putting the rookie in his place, reminding him that they were his before Oscar’s, that Lando was his best friend and the one who has spent holidays at his beach house with Bunny in her skimpy little bikinis skipping along the beach as they watched and waited to take her to bed. After examples upon examples, Oscar hangs up the phone, a man on a mission.

And when they get home the next day? Oscar is waiting at the door, ready to fully veto it, and can’t help but take his frustrations out on Bunny and Lando. After hours until he feels like he’s shown them why they chose him, he’d then have them FaceTime his parents to “catch up because they missed them” over a breakfast that he cooked himself “just because”. And that because? Because no one could make them feel more loved, more known that him— even fucking Carlos. -🐝

the ending about calling his parents 😭 imagine his mom crochets/knits and she’s like omg you guys! i’m working on blankets for you for christmas! and is showing them all the bunches of yarn she picked out for each one, explaining the reasons behind the colors. his parents are promising to fly out to a race to see them as soon as they have the time, and bunny promises that she’ll fly to visit them after the next race bc it’s easier for her to travel! they’d melt at that and immediately oscar’s mom is making spa reservations so they can have a girls day. oscar’s watching as lando and bunny almost cry as the call ends bc she’s so sweet and they can’t get over how much she loves them. they’d have forgetten about carlos hours before, but after that phone call all they can think about is how perfect oscar is and how perfect his family is and how they welcomed them with open arms and love both of them so much.

may I just say that this gp was as a fiction? it served us SO MUCH Lestappen content from the begging to the very end! i was scared that at some point it's gonna be fucked (yep talking about Charles' "luck") but instead we got a joint interview, a lot of waist grabbing, smiles and giggles, press conferences with "inchident" jokes and karting days (i'm so sorry for Checo and Carlos being the third wheel but it's inevitable, guys) AND the most important – a battle even in FP2 and then in race! i mean, Charles has done FANTASTIC job (not only in race but throughout the whole weekend. his quali laps? fuck that was hot). i don't remember when was the last time someone overtook Max in battle for the lead. i wanna scream to see Charles in capable and suitable for his style car (and reliable team that does not fuck up the strategies *side-eye to RBR*) 😭😭😭

i've seen some people being afraid of "lestappen divorce" after that turn 1, but i wasn't one of them. i really think that their relationship has seriously changed. sure that Max always treated Charles in a special way, congratulating him on good positions, even if he himself lost. but for some reason I feel that Charles himself now does not transfer what happens on the track beyond its boundaries. Austin sprint was also the proof.

Once again you are dropping truth bombs in my ask box, and I am so happy to read them. I agree with every take you've shared here: the Las Vegas GP practically being taken straight out of a fic, and it actually giving Austria 2022 a run for its money. (Which I doubt any of us were prepared for, let's be honest.)

Both Max and Charles have grown so much over the years, and it's wonderful to see that their relationship has reached the point it's at now. Max apologizing to Charles for the incident in turn 1 is definitely a testament to the severe shift their friendship has taken recently, and it's just beautiful to watch.

I wasn't worried at all about their friendship suffering because of what happened in turn 1, and I think those who were worried about a potential "divorce" are people who haven't been as up-to-date on the shift of their friendship recently. They've reached a point where they can have incidents like that during a race without it impacting their relationship negatively at all. And if that isn't growth, then I don't know what is.

I hope you're catching up on some much needed sleep following this race weekend. 💙

I just think of 17 year old Carlos getting up the courage to come out to his parents, only to have them never bring it up again. For years. It breaks my heart 😭

I wish the show would delve into this further, but I think the show might consider the issue dealt with since we've now had several instances of Carlos's parents being supportive of his relationship with TK. For a show like this with so many characters and so much going on, it's probably unlikely they're going to go back and unpack the issues behind Carlos's fears and feelings from that time. I hope we can at least get something going further into Carlos's relationship with Gabriel, especially re: Carlos's belief that Gabriel thinks he's too soft. That was somewhat dealt with in 2x08, so the show may consider this issue dealt with as well, but I think there's lots more there to explore. I guess this is what we need fanfiction for, and it's one of the many reasons I appreciate your missing moments so much!

I know, it makes me so sad. Carlos was hurting so much for such a long time and he plastered a smile on his face and shoved it all down and just carried on as if his heart wasn't broken and it's just devastating. I agree with you, I think the show considers it dealt with and probably won't go back to it, although hopefully Gabriel will say something sweet to him at some point during the wedding proceedings because Carlos still needs badly to know that his dad is proud of him.

“We never talked about it,” Carlos says softly. “You hugged me and said you still loved me and then we just …” 

“I know.” Gabriel sighs and scratches the back of his neck. “I’m sorry. We should have.” 

Carlos doesn’t answer. He looks down at his hands folded in his lap. 

“It was all so new, for me,” his dad continues. “Not something I ever thought about. And I didn’t want to say something that would embarrass you, or upset you because it was a stupid question. So I just didn’t say anything at all. And you never brought it up again, and then the more time passed the more it became impossible to bring it up.”

“Yeah,” Carlos agrees. 

“But was my fault. You were just a kid, it was my job to make it okay and I didn’t.” Gabriel reaches out to squeeze Carlos’s shoulder. “I don’t care who you love, Carlos. As long as you love them right.”

Carlos sniffs and nods. 

“And I meant what I said before. You made me proud the other day. Not just because you followed your instincts and did your job. Because you protected the person you love, and that’s what a good man does.”

“I always …” Carlos blinks tears out of his eyes and feels like a little boy as he admits, “I always wanted you to think I was good enough.”

“I do. I’m so sorry you thought I didn’t.”

“I thought maybe me being gay … that you thought I wouldn’t be a good cop because of it.”

For a moment, his father doesn’t speak. Carlos’s heart races and his skin crawls. He hates this, he hates being exposed like this with anyone, but especially his dad. Everything they’re discussing needs to be said, and has needed to be said for a long time, but that doesn’t make this conversation easier to have.

“I did think that, at first,” Gabriel admits. “You were always sensitive.”

Carlos nods shortly as his insides twist around each other, but then Gabriel puts his hand back on Carlos’s shoulder and leaves it there this time. Carlos looks at him, into the warmth of his eyes, and he’s smiling sadly.

“But I was wrong. I shouldn’t have thought that, and I know that now. You care about people. You stand up for people weaker than you. You protect the people you love. You saved the man you love, Carlos.”

Carlos swallows and nods again, this time with different emotions gripping at his windpipe.

“You knew he was in danger and you didn’t stop until you had him back in your arms. That is what a good man does. You made me so proud, son. And it’s my fault that I didn’t notice for so long what an impressive man you’ve become. Not yours.”
