Angelic Affections

Gabriel x GN Reader
Summary: When Gabriel’s favorite human gets in an accident, Gabriel is forced to deal with his fear of loosing them as well as his own shortcomings. Slight angst with fluff ending.
Words: 2,876
You hummed softly to yourself as you stood in your room packing up your go bag. Your brother Sammy had stormed into the kitchen abruptly interrupting yours and Dean’s breakfast not 20 minutes ago with a new case.
“So get this,” Sam said as he stormed in, laptop in hand. “A string of mysterious deaths all revolving around an old, seemingly abandoned house in Nevada.” You groan in frustration, pushing away your half eaten cereal. How hard was it to get a nice morning with your brothers without having to worry about some ghost or ghoul interrupting it?
“Haunted?” Dean asked, only half paying attention. He took a sip of his coffee, looking awfully comfortable in his robe with his feet propped up on the table the two of you were seated at.
“Seems like it.” Sam replied, scrolling through an article on his laptop.
“You know the drill,” Dean slowly dragged his legs off of the kitchen table as he stood. “Wheels up in thirty.”
“You’ve been watching too many procedural cop shows, Dean.” You chime in as you stand up as well, turning to head to your room. Sam chuckled as Dean just scoffed indignantly at you.
“You know I hate that shit.” He muttered to himself. You just send your older brother a shit eating smile before heading out of the kitchen and into your bedroom.
You turn towards your dresser to pull out a pair of socks when your eye catches on the picture frame resting on top. It’s a polaroid of you and Gabe dressed in terrible matching Christmas sweaters grinning like a couple of dorks in front of a fireplace. You smiled at the memory. Gabe had gotten you a polaroid camera for Christmas last year after you complained that the angels had never had their photos taken before.
“I don’t see why that is an issue.” Cas had said, as oblivious as ever. The three of you were sitting on a couch in the DeanCave. You sat in between the two angels, body angled to face the befuddled angel.
“Well what if there’s a moment in your life that you never want to forget? It’s like being able to preserve the happiest times in your life.” Cas cocked his head at you as Gabe listened intently. You would’ve expected him to tease you for being so passionate about this, but he seems content just to watch the conversation unfold.
“An angel’s memory does not degrade like human’s do. We have no need for such reminders.” You just groan in frustration as Gabe chuckles beside you.
“That’s not the point, Cas.” Castiel just kept looking at you with that confused expression. You let out a sigh before shaking your head, defeated by Cas’s lack of understanding.
“Good luck with that one, honey. I think Cassy here is a lost cause.” The archangel places his hand on your knee as Cas casts a small glare towards him.
It wasn’t long after that incident that you opened one of your presents during Christmas to find the vintage camera. Upon opening it, Gabriel immediately insisted that the two of you take a photo. You put in the film as Gabe knelt beside you, wrapping his arms around you and pulling you against him.
“Come on! Let’s take the picture already!” Gabriel exclaimed impatiently. He had been hyperactive all morning (You suspected that he had been sneaking Christmas cookies when you weren’t watching) and it was becoming difficult to keep up with him.
“Give me a second! I need to set it up first.” Gabriel simply tugged the camera out of your hands. Truly the angel didn’t have a patient bone in his celestial body. He flicked the camera on and you only had a brief moment to smile at it before the picture was taken. The flash had caught you both by surprise and had you blinking the spots out of your eyes for the next few minutes. But when the picture came out, you couldn’t deny that it was perfect. You had taken several photos of your boys that day, but only that photo had gotten its own frame and a special place upon your dresser.
Suddenly you feel a presence behind you. A warm breath brushes against the back of your neck and the hairs on your arms stand up. Despite knowing that you should be attacking the intruder, a part of you felt calmed by the presence behind you. So instead you just waited to see what would happen.
“Whatya lookin’ at there, sugar?” You let out a sigh of relief as you recognized Gabe’s voice whispering in your ear. You can’t help but feel a blush stain your cheeks as you noticed just how close he was standing. You turn around and shove him away from you in retaliation for sneaking up on you. You avoid his eyes as he shoots you a playfully offended look.
“I was looking at that dorky expression on your face.” You tell him as you gesture to the photo. You continue your task of packing as Gabe picks up the picture frame to take a better look.
“Well excuse me princess, but I see two dorky faces in this picture.” You just rolled your eyes as he shakes the photo in your direction. Focusing back at the task at hand, you bend over your bed to place your socks in your pack. With your back turned to the trickster angel, you miss the way his eyes slide down your form before quickly turning away to place the photo back down.
“I still don’t see why you wanted that picture taken so badly. I’m pretty sure my hair wasn’t even combed!” You turned to look at your angel. His whiskey colored eyes were crinkled in amusement.
“Does an angel need a reason to want to take a picture with his favorite human?” You playfully rolled your eyes as he said this. It wasn’t a new occurrence, him referring to you as his favorite human. He seemed to work it into every conversation the two of you had, as though he felt the need to subtly remind you how much you meant to him. The two of you hadn’t always been this close. In fact, when the two of you first met, you regarded him mainly with suspicion. This suspicion quickly turned into a deep seated hatred for a time after he forced you to live through your brother dying over and over again. It actually wasn’t until Gabriel gave his life that you started to think that your hatred may have been misplaced. Although you had barely known him, a part of you had mourned your tormenter turned savior. As you had falsely assumed that you would never see him again. Cut to 8 years later when Ketch delivered an incredibly alive Gabriel to you. You had spent the next few days taking care of the broken archangel. For some reason, you were the only one Gabriel would allow to get close to him. Although he refused to speak, you could feel a tension rising between the two of you. It all came to ahead when Asmodeus broke into the bunker and almost killed you. Gabriel miraculously got his mojo back and smited Asmodeus where he stood for even laying a finger on you. You and the newly healed trickster had been “joined at the hip” as Dean puts it ever since.
“Speaking of which, I’ve got my favorite human’s favorite show queued up on my laptop right now. What do you say we snuggle up with some popcorn and lay in bed all day.” You giggle as Gabe wiggles his eyebrows as he steps closer to you.
“Honestly that sounds amazing, but we have a hunt.” Gabe just groans in disappointment before dramatically plopping on your bed. “And after last time, Dean says you’re not allowed to come with us anymore.” You watched as Gabe made himself comfortable on your bed.
“Hey, that wasn’t my fault! You brother just doesn’t have a sense of humor.” You zipped up your pack and picked it up. You looked back at Gabe, noticing the candy bar that miraculously appeared in his hand.
“Just stay out of trouble and we can watch tv when I get back.” Your angel just let out an indignant huff as you placed a kiss on his forehead and headed towards the door. “And no eating in my bed!” You smile softly at the disappointed groan you hear behind you.
“Stay safe, sugar.” You hear him chime out before you walk out.
“I always am.”
-
Gabriel had spent the last week lounging around the bunker waiting for you to get back. Well, lounging and rigging up a few surprises for the boys. But despite the inevitable boredom that comes with staying in one place too long, Gabe couldn’t find it in himself to leave until he saw you. This hunt had come up at the most inopportune moment possible. As well having a good Netflix and chill (Gabe knows you hate it when he says that but he just can’t resist), the archangel had also planned to talk to you that night. Yes, the larger than life angel/trickster had finally worked up the courage to confess his feelings to you. Gabriel’s face scrunches up at the thought. Usually he’d be content to avoid any and all conversations involving feelings, but somehow you managed to wiggle your way under his skin and he needed you to know how much he cared for you. He couldn’t help but care for you after you nursed him back to health. You had seen him at his most vulnerable, and you didn’t leave him or try to take advantage of him. You just sat quietly with him. Taking care of his injuries and pulling out his stitches. It wasn’t until sometime after he was healed that he realized how much he loved you, and how super boned he was for falling for a Winchester. So he planned to confess over tv and snacks, but of course the life of a hunter is never that straightforward. So naturally you were whisked away on a case, leaving Gabe behind to wait impatiently for you to get back. The trickster had actually been setting up a fun little surprise in the moose’s shower when he heard the bunker door slam open.
“Well it’s about time.” Gabriel stated as he appeared before the Winchesters. It wasn’t until that sentence left his lips that he properly surveyed the scene before him. You were being held in Dean’s arms as the two brothers pushed by him without saying a word. It wasn’t the sight of you being carried that jarred him into silence. Hell, it wasn’t even the copious amount of blood covering you and the older Winchester that shocked him. (He had seen you covered in blood on multiple occasions.) It was the way your skin looked pale and cold, as though you were already dead. Somewhere in his mind, it registered that the brothers were headed to the infirmary, but before he could even think to follow, Castiel appeared before him. “What happened?” Cas could faintly hear Gabe ask. At this moment, the archangel Gabriel looked less like a divine being and more like a broken man. Cas had trouble looking into his eyes at that moment. The desperation behind them forcing the guilt to creep slowly back into Castiel’s mind.
“We thought it was just a simple haunting. It turns out a group of demons were using the site to lure hunters. The Winchesters fell right into their trap.” If Gabriel comprehended his brother’s words, he did not show it. For the first time in the hyperactive angel’s life, he just stood there. He did not move, he did not breathe. If a stranger were to look at him, they might mistake him for a statue. Cas continued on. “I managed to heal her in time, but I believe she will need rest.” With that, Gabriel was suddenly moving again. Swiftly turning to head towards the infirmary. He needed to see you. To see for himself that you would be okay. But he was quickly halted by a hand being placed on his shoulder. “I… do not think you should see her like this.” This caused Gabe to snap.
“And why’s that, Cas? Because you couldn’t protect her? Cause you couldn’t protect my… friend from a couple of rouge demons?” Gabriel was now standing toe to toe with Castiel, angelic energy flooding the room. “You failed her Cas. You don’t get to tell me what I should and should not do.” With that, Cas’s hand slid off Gabe’s shoulder and Gabe flew away towards the infirmary.
-
Waking up in the infirmary was a… surprise to say the least. Your head ached and your throat was painfully dry. You tried to sit up and call for someone but when you opened your eyes you noticed that the room was empty. Which was an odd sight because usually your brothers would take turns watching over you whenever you got injured. You assumed that something must have happened… until you heard the voices outside.
“No! You don’t get to storm in here blaming everyone else for your shit!” Dean was shouting at… someone? You couldn’t really tell who or what the conversation was about. It only took you a moment before your questions were answered.
“Ha! my shit? You’re the one who almost let your sister get killed. Again.” Dean was arguing with Gabriel. Which in itself is not surprising, but it’s very rare that Gabriel truly shows anger during these fights. But you can tell by the way his voice is quivering that he is upset.
“She’s a hunter,” Dean continues. “This is our job. So no, you do not get to blame me for this when really, you're mad at yourself for not being there to protect her.” The conversation goes quiet after that. You hear a sigh and footsteps walking away. Slowly, the door to the infirmary is pushed open. It’s safe to say that you’ve never seen Gabriel this sullen since he’d gotten his mojo back. His head hangs down to the floor as he quietly shuffles into the room. His eyes are sunken and laced with unshed tears. You’re not quite sure what to say. Luckily, you don’t need to because at that moment, Gabriel lifts his head and meets your gaze.
“Y/n?” He speaks your name so softly that your heart almost breaks. “How long have you been awake for?” He rushes to sit by your side.
“A couple of minutes.” You say quietly, your voice still hoarse from disuse. Gabe silently hands you a cup of water that was sitting on the side table.
“Why didn’t you call anyone?” You took a sip from the cup before handing it back to him.
“You guys seemed… busy.” Gabriel grimaced a bit as you said this.
“You heard that?” Gabe sighs as you nod your head in confirmation. He rests his hand on your knee as the two of you sit in silence for a moment. You try to crack a joke to release some of the tension.
“It’s nice to know that you’d care if I died. Sorta assumed you’d be halfway to Vegas right now.” That statement draws a little chuckle out of your angel.
“You know, I’ll smite you if you ever repeat this to anyone but… Dean was right.” Gabriel fixes his warm eyes on you as he speaks. “I am furious with myself for not being there. You’re my human. I should’ve been there to protect you.” It’s almost jarring to see Gabriel looking this vulnerable. You’re not quite sure what to say. So you don’t say anything. In a moment that catches the both of you off guard, you surge forward to wrap your arms around the broken looking angel. He lifts his arms after a moment to hold you back and you just rest against his chest for a while. Just allowing yourself to be held by your angel. You feel him press a kiss to your head and you sigh in contentment. Despite the soreness of your body, Gabriel’s presence feels like a relief.
“I love you, you know.” You freeze as you feel him whisper the words into your hair. You draw your head up to look Gabe in the eyes once more. You can tell from the way he’s avoiding your gaze that he’s nervously waiting for your response. You lean in slowly and Gabriel sits frozen, waiting for your next move. You can’t even feel breath coming from him. Slowly, you place a chaste kiss to the corner of his mouth.
“I love you too.” You whisper back once you pull away. The two of you don’t stay separated for long as the angel pulls you back for a more heated kiss. The two of you break apart after you realize that you desperately need air. Gabe chuckles as you gasp for breath.
“Well I’ll tell you one thing, honey.” He says as he pulls you flush against him. “You’re never going anywhere without me ever again.”

SERIES MASTERLIST
Tumblr media
...FOUR YEARS LATER...
Ella’s wandering down the backyard of the house. She’s upset, angry and super mad.
Last Summer, before her little brother was born, and mommy still had a huge belly, daddy spent the whole summer building a treehouse right by the trees down by the creek.
When he finished, daddy and her celebrated by spending the night there, sleeping on mats and covering themselves with blankets and daddy even brought out pillows from the couch. Ella doesn’t know where daddy got the snacks and sweets from, though, but they ate until her stomach was full and it hurt a little but she didn’t tell daddy, didn’t want him to be upset, and tell mommy because daddy said we shouldn’t tell mommy that they are snacking so late and she didn’t tell. Ella’s good at keeping secrets.
The next morning though, she woke up in her own bed. Daddy said sleeping in bed was more comfortable for his old bones. But Ella knows now that he wanted to be close to mommy in case mommy needed him during the night. Daddy was right though, waking up in her own bed surrounded by her stuffed animals was really great. They then did this more often, went out to the treehouse in the evening and every time she would fall asleep, daddy would carry her back to the house.
Ella thinks that her daddy is a big, strong man. How else could he carry her all the way back to the house? Every time she’s with him she’d feel protected. She loves her daddy because her mommy’s always a little more strict and daddy is not, but daddy said that it was because mommy loves her and Ella knows that too, she sometimes just can’t show it when mommy upsets her.
She loves the treehouse, and spends a lot of time there. It’s also a place where Ella met her new friend. He’s not as tall as daddy, his voice not as deep but he’s friendly and he listens to her and plays with her. She can complain to him about her brother, and he would just listen.
And today, Ella needs her friend the most because mommy and daddy don’t have time for her and she stormed out with Truffles trailing behind. However, the dog got distracted and Ella knows that she’s not supposed to go anywhere on her own unless Truffles comes with her, even if it’s their own backyard, she didn’t stop. It happens often that Truffles gets distracted by something lately, but that's okay because she can talk to her friend alone without Truffles interrupting them. When Truffles would find her with her friend, he would start to fletch his teeth and growl at her friend, and as a result of that, her friend will always leave immediately.
Ella climbs up the stairs to her treehouse. It’s not steep, daddy had made sure of it. Mainly because he wanted for Truffles to be able to go up and down with her without any problems.
She sits against the wall, hugs her knees to her chest, rests her forehead on her knees and wishes for her friend to show up. It usually always works when she thinks of him very hard and wishes for him to show up.
“How are you, little one?” The voice is familiar to her, it’s her friend. She looks to the door to see a dark haired man dressed in all black.
“‘M okay,” Ella says, and it’s a lie. Daddy told her to never lie but she just doesn’t want her friend to be worried about her. She’s upset about something stupid and it’s embarrassing if he finds out. Maybe her friend wouldn’t want to be her friend anymore if he knows.
“You sure you’re okay, love? You don’t look okay to me,” He kneels down next to her, and Ella thinks he maybe shouldn’t have done it because he’ll get his trousers all dirty.
He always looks so put together, his clothes always neat and clean. The opposite of hers, Ella thinks. She always has holes in her pants and shirts, and they’re dirty as can be. Her parents would dress her all nice but they will all end up being dirty at the end of the day. She just loves to play outside too much.
“You know that you can tell me everything, right?” He asks, his hand tucks a loose strand of locks behind her ear.
Ella sighs, keeping her eyes to the wooden floor of the treehouse, avoiding her friend’s eyes.
“‘M mad,” She just says.
“Why are you mad?”
“Mommy’s nursing the stupid, stupid baby and Dad’s talking on the phone with uncle Cas and uncle Gabe. Nobody has time for me, and daddy promised to play but then uncle Cas called and he’s taking too long on the phone,”
“Awe, but I’m here now, aren’t I? You still don’t like your little brother, huh, Ella?”
Ella shrugs, “I don’t know, he’s stupid and ugly. He can’t talk so all he does it making weird noises and he cries,”
“Yeah, that’s what babies do.”
“Do you wanna play with me?”
Her friend places a hand on her shoulder, “Of course, what do you wanna play?”
“Hide and seek?” Ella looks at her friend now and he smiles at her.
“Okay Ella, you count and I go hide, okay?”
Ella grins and clasps her hands over her eyes when she starts to count.
But she didn’t even get to ten when she hears barking and her daddy calling out for her.
Tumblr media
“El?” Dean runs out to the terrace and looks into the distance. Fucking hell, he’s only been on the phone for a mere fifteen minutes, slipped into his office and when he came out, Ella who was sitting on the floor assembling puzzles was gone.
He sees Truffles digging something up from the ground.
“Ella!”
Dean runs down the stairs, and Y/N comes out too, still with the little boy in her arms, she couldn’t find Ella inside either.
“El!” Y/N shouts, “Ella!”
Dean takes off, towards the treehouse and Y/N follows, but she’s not fast with a baby clutched to her chest.
If Ella’s gone, it’s on him. It’s all on fucking him. He promised her he would play with her. That was until Cas called who was already having a phone conference with Gabe. He had to go talk in his office because Y/N isn’t supposed to know the subject matter. This whole keeping secrets thing is fucking idiotic.
“El!”
“Ella!”
He calls out while he runs. Runs as fast as his feet would take him and then he whistles for Truffles to run ahead.
The dog seems startled when he hears his owner whistle but then Truffles runs ahead, knows where he needs to go and exactly who they are looking for.
Dean sees Truffles speeding up ahead, sees him climbing up the stairs to the treehouse. After a while, the dog comes down with Ella. His heart thumps hard in his chest and he runs faster, wants to reach his little girl quickly.
“El!” He shouts, and he sprints the last quarter mile and scoops her up into his arms. “Jesus, Ella-baby, you scared me!”
Dean makes her look at him, brushes his hand along her cheeks. “You okay?” He pecks her forehead, is still so out of breath himself.
Ella nods at her dad.
“El, you know you shouldn’t go wander around on your own. Why didn’t you take Truffles with you?” Dean’s voice is low, he tries to stay calm. There’s no need to panic because Ella wouldn’t understand the horror he went through when he noticed her gone.
“He didn’t want to follow. Found something else more interesting,” Ella says matter of factly, as if it explains everything. Dog doesn’t want to follow so I don’t wait and go on my own. Dean shoots the dog a glare, making Truffles wince.
“Let’s go back, mommy’s already worried,”
As if on cue, Y/N arrives, “El-baby, you shouldn’t go out without telling me,”
“You didn’t have time for me. Both of you!” Ella accuses her parents.
“El, I’m sorry, but now we do, come on, let’s go play,” Dean begins to walk towards the house but Ella twists around in his grip.
“No! I’m playing with my friend. He’s hiding and I have to search! He’s waiting for me to find him!”
Dean stops dead in his tracks. “Your friend? What friend?”
“Yeah, I meet him here a lot,”
“Ella, do you have an imaginary friend?” Y/N smirks.
“He’s real, alright!”
“Of course he is,” Dean stomps his feel for the effect, backing Ella up. It’s the least he can do after he neglected her while he first promised that they could play and Ella laughs, it sounds good in Dean’s ear.
“Maybe your friend’s hiding in the house, huh?” Y/N says as she walks beside Dean, little Neo is clutched to her chest, sleeping peacefully, didn’t even realize that his parents just suffered a mild heart attack.
“No!” Ella shouts, she is still trying to get out of Dean’s arms but he’s holding her tight.
“Ella, maybe mommy’s right, huh?” He tries to reason.
“No!” Ella balls her fist, hits Dean, “Fergie doesn’t go in the house. He’s shy! He doesn’t want to meet other people!”
Dean stops and Y/N’s jaw drops.
“Fergie?” Dean asks, just to be fucking sure.
“Yeah, he said it’s a nickname for Fergus.”
“Dean, what does it mean.” Y/N frowns, is visibly upset but he looks at her and mouthes later to her and Y/N understands. By the way Y/N purses her lips though, Dean knows that he’s in trouble.
 *
Y/N’s waiting for him on the couch when he comes down to join her after he tucked the kids in.
She stands up as soon as she hears him, turns to face him. “You know what? I need a fucking drink!”
Walking over to the kitchen, she takes out a bottle of whiskey from the pantry where they hide their alcohol and slams the door close with a bang. Dean’s sure that the kids heard it and closes his eyes, waits for one of them to cry out but it stays silent so he exhales, releasing the breath he didn’t even know he’s been holding.
Dean walks closer to the kitchen isle where she’s standing with his hands in his pant pockets. Apparently this is a standing argument.
She unscrews the cap angrily, gulps down a large swig, doesn't even bother to pour it into a glass, and brushes at her lips with the back of her hand. “You wanna explain anything to me? Is Fergie who I think it is?”
“I don’t know,” Dean shrugs, and eyes the bottle, he could sure as hell use a drink himself.
She sees his gaze, hands him the bottle and he takes it from her with a nod, downs a gulp, swallows it and takes another one, for good measure.
“Then what do you know, Dean, huh?!”
“Ella said her friend Fergie started showing up after Neo’s birth,” Dean air quotes the word friend. He tries to stay calm, but there's anger inside of him that wants to get out, too. He feels like punching something, wants to shoot at someone. He’s been told by Cas and Gabe before Ella wandered out on her own that Crowley is out for a while now, Gabe only overheard it this morning but apparently, he’s been out for almost eight fucking months already, and Dean’s mad, mad that he didn’t know, mad that he can’t fucking protect his family on his own fucking property, “Baby, I have no idea how he got past the security.”
“Security?” She gets loud.
Uh-oh.
“You’re being loud!” Dean hushes her.
“Oh, well wait,” Y/N says a little softer but then she hisses, “What fucking security?”
There’s really no way out but forward, so Dean takes another swig from the bottle, leans over the island, braces his elbow on the kitchen isle and rubs himself over his face. He takes a deep breath before he begins to tell her about what Cas told him almost five years ago.
The expression on her face changes with the things he tells her, he can read her like a book, can see the anger, the frustration, the horror. The crease between her eyebrows deepens, and Dean wants to even them out so bad but he knows that it’s not the right move right now.
“So we have security around the house for four fucking years already?”
“They’re so good you don’t even see them, right?” Dean tries to ease the tension with a joke. It is not well received.
Y/N just stands there and stares him down.
Dean doesn’t know what else to say, what else he could say to calm her down when he’s not exactly calm himself either.
Their silence gets interrupted when she gets a message on her phone. She walks to the sofa where she’s left it on the coffee table. Dean watches her go, follows her after.
She takes the phone, reads the message and it’s like he sees it in slow motion. Sees how her crease deepens even more and her mouth forms an ‘o’ before the phone slips out of her hand and drops onto the rug by the coffee table.
“Dean,” Her voice shakes,
He rushes to her, holds her to stop her from shaking, and she just keeps on repeating, “Dean, Dean,” While she stares at her phone on the rug.
Dean leaves one hand on her to keep her from falling while he picks the phone up from the rug and stands up to wrap his arm back around her. His other hand fumbles with her phone, thumbing over the messages until he sees what she saw.
There’s a picture of Crowley with Ella, a selfie taken in the treehouse. Both of them are smiling. There’s a caption to it, too.

“This is gonna be one hell of a shitstorm Sammy!” Dean’s words carry through the walls of the cave. The waterfall gem was one of the best finds the brothers had discovered since landing on the island. It had proven a life saver many times, shielding the boys from the occasional tropical hurricane that passed through.
They had formed a routine for storms, the first was making sure the shelter was secure. Food was piled for the long haul, as the storms could last anywhere from a couple of days to a week. The boys made sure there was enough dry wood to last, then they spent their days and evenings huddled for warmth, fucking, making love.
Sam loved being the big spoon. He was taller than Dean, which made him a better cuddle buddy. He usually woke first, and he was always rock hard. Sam would grind his erection into Dean’s ass, the two pairs of thin boxers providing little shielding. He would start humping his older brother, holding his hips as he assaulted him. Dean loved how it felt, it was his favorite way to wake up, moaning as each push got more intense. When he couldn’t take it any longer, Dean would pull from Sam’s hold so he could turn and face his lover, their lips colliding in a heated exchange that left both needing. Sometimes Dean would go first, sometimes Sam, but neither one left unsatisfied. Their life was perfect.
~~
“Captain! Hurricane!!!” Gabriel shouted. Cas looked to the skies, his eyes taking in the dark threat, mentally preparing for the worst.
“Secure those barrels! Get the sails rolled up! Move! Anything not tied down needs to get below deck! It’s coming in fast!”
Michael and Luci grabbed the sails, while Gadreel and Gabe began moving lose items below. The brothers were the most feared pirates to ever grace the seven seas. Modern day thieves, the family of brothers turned to piracy as a way to survive after they were orphaned. Cas wasn’t the oldest, in fact, he was the youngest of the five. He was ten when their father had passed. As he grew, none could deny his natural ability to lead, to be calm and level-headed, even when things went south. Actually, his leadership and quick thinking had kept them from getting caught numerous times.
They had enough to retire 10 times over, but the urge to venture out, to feel the thrill of the adrenaline rush as they lifted precious cargo from various places without being caught, was too great to resist. The sheer power they felt after each successful heist was beyond addictive. They had encountered storms before, even hurricanes, but this one was darker, more menacing than any previous ones. Indeed, this one was far more dangerous, and Cas was pretty sure it was a category five.
FUCK!
High velocity winds and lightning set up them much quicker than they had predicted. Visibility dropped to near zero as the heavens opened, unleashing a torrential rainfall. Cas yelled for everyone to get below, to forget the kegs that remained loose. The lives of his brothers were worth far more than some cargo.
He watched the last brother reach the safety of the cabins just before waves crashed into the sides of the boat, catching Cas off guard. The last thing he remembered before his head slammed into the rails, was the lightning bolt hitting the deck, cracking the vessel wide open and flames erupting to engulf the entire ship.
~~
The brothers peeked out after the three-day event, eyes taking in the damage from the storm. Leaves and branches littered the swim hole, but thankfully the shelter remained mostly intact. That was the one thing they were grateful for, the shelter that the cliff provided them. Dean volunteered to check the main beach, mostly because Sam had done it last time. They usually came back empty handed, but occasionally were graced with various gifts, including clothing, well-packaged food, blankets, and even toiletries.
Today was different.
At first, Dean saw only the wreckage: broken wood, tattered sails. He began to pick through the rubble, finding a few surprises, including rare gold coins and jewels, hell, he even found a few kegs of beer and wine. Then he noticed the movement under a distant pile of rubble, followed by low moaning.
Fuck! There was a person under there!
Dean ran over, grabbing the wooden planks and tossing them aside. He uncovered the man’s dark hair first, then worked on the rest. Finely tuned muscle and well defined hips had Dean licking his lips. Jeez Dean, focus!
He found some rope and a made a makeshift sleigh to bring him back to camp.
“Sammy!” he yelled.
The younger Winchester came running. “Dean? What the…” he paused when he saw the unconscious man on the stretcher.
“Found him under a pile of rubble. I didn’t get a chance to go through the rest of the stuff. Thought this should be our first priority.”
Sam nodded and knelt down beside the stretcher. He checked his pulse and checked for any major signs of injury. Finding none, he checked for ID next. The family crest was the only thing Sam did find on his neck chain, but there was no name with it.
“Well, whoever he is, he’s going to have one nasty headache. He’s lucky he survived.” Sam noted. “I’ll go check through the rest of the stuff. You stay here. And, Dean?”
His brother looked up, meeting Sam’s lips in a gentle kiss. “Yeah?”
Sam smiled. “Be careful.”
“Don’t worry Sammy, I ain’t planning on dying today.” With that, he playfully swatted Sam’s ass while sending him to check the shore line.
Moaning from the makeshift bed had Dean focussing once again on the newcomer. His eyes fluttered open, trying to adjust to the sunlight. His eyes took in his surroundings, then they landed on Dean. The man tried to scramble away and gain a defensive stance. Dean put his hands up slowly, palms facing out to show peace.
“Whoa, easy. I’m not going to hurt you. I found you buried under some wreckage and brought you to our camp. You’re safe here.”
The man relaxed, then gingerly brought his hand up to the back of his head, wincing at the pain. “Thank you for helping me. Where are we?”
Dean shrugged. “No clue. My brother and I have been here a long time, over a year.” He held his hand out in greeting. “Name’s Dean.”
The man paused for a moment, then took the hand offered. “Cas.”
Both Cas and Dean stared a few moments longer, as sparks passed between them. It was almost magnetic. Both men pulled away quickly, embarrassed. Sam returned later to find Dean and the stranger talking while consuming some fruit. Behind Sam, a sled filled with men’s clothing, bottles of wine, a few kegs of beer, and a slew of well sealed rations, including granola bars, toiletries, dried fruit, jerky, and first-aid supplies.
Dean lets out a low whistle, then turns to Cas. “Sam here is my younger brother.” Then he turned to Sam. “This is Cas.” The two exchange handshakes, and again both feel a spark, a magnetic attraction that neither would admit to. However, this doesn’t go unnoticed by Dean. But instead of jealousy, he feels lust, noting the three-way connection possibilities. Dean feels himself getting hard at the idea, wondering if Cas would be interested in joining him and Sam.
The evening is filled with talk and laughter and food. Cas notes that the brothers are very easy going, and has also noticed that they haven’t pressed him for any information about himself, not that he can remember. He can’t even remember his own name. The only reason he was able to give a name at all was he had seen it tattooed on his forearm.
Among the notable details is the closeness the two brothers share, and the spark he’d experienced with both men. They were both devastatingly handsome, an instant attraction no one could deny.
Eventually, arrangements were made for sleeping. The brothers offered their guest the choice of cave or the lean-to cabin they’d built. Both had decent sleep areas and a fire could easily be built in the cave if need be. Cas chose the lean-to, giving the brothers the larger quarters. They bid each other good night and Cas watched as Sam and Dean wrapped their arms around each other and walked toward the waterfall.
Cas couldn’t fall asleep. He tossed and turned, feeling like something was missing. The boys had made quite the home here, the bed was more than comfortable, so whatever was bugging him, it wasn’t the comfort level.
Then he knew. It was the sleeping arrangements. Cas couldn’t explain it, but the desire to sleep with Sam and Dean was overwhelming his mindset. He wasn’t sure if he swung that way, but his mind didn’t care, and neither did his cock, now rigid with the idea of the brothers taking him. If this was going to be his first time, he wanted it to be with Sam and Dean.
Before Cas had even blinked, he found himself heading toward the cave. The closer he got, the more excited he became, as heavy breathing and lustful noises greeted him. He glanced inside to find the brothers entwined in each other’s arms, dry humping, grinding as they kissed. Cas began rubbing his own hard cock, moaning softly as he watched.
Dean looked over to the entrance, seeing Cas standing there. He whispers something to Sam, who nods eagerly.
“Cas, both Sam and I would love for you to join us.”
Cas had never moved so fast as he did then, driven by lust and desire, his need to fuck and be fucked by these two sex gods dissolved any rational thought. Clothes flew in all directions as he strode toward his goal, till only his boxers remained. Dean grabbed him first, devouring Cas’s mouth with his own. Sam reached inside both men’s shorts, stroking the hard shafts that meet his hands.
They moan as the kiss heats up. Sam moves to stand behind Cas, nibbling along his neck and shoulders. He bites and sucks, leaving a few marks along the way. Dean breaks the lip lock long enough to suck on the other side, also marking Cas.
The brothers look at each other, then at their new toy. “Ours.” They said in unison.
With in seconds, all three are void of their shorts, eager for what’s to follow. Dean and Sam make a plan, then tell Cas.
“Cas, Dean wants to take you first. Then you’re going to take me, and then you watch Dean suck me off. Got it?”
Cas nods. Sam gets down on hands and knees, moving so his ass is in the air. Cas spits on his hand, then rubs it on his tip, mixing it with the precum that is already leaking out. He spreads the cheeks of the younger Winchester and pushes in slowly, groaning as he bottoms out. The shear pleasure it brings is more than Cas ever imagined.
Sam grinds against Cas, and Cas begins to move, pulling out then slamming back in, thrusting hard and without mercy, causing Sam to curse as he’s hit with mounds of pleasure. Dean’s eyes are full blown with lust as he watches.
“Hold still Cas. Present that firm ass for me.”
The command makes Cas even harder. The dominance radiating from both men has him whimpering with even greater need. He discovered at that moment how much he enjoys being a sub, being ordered around by the brothers. Cas bends down, covering Sam’s lean body with his own, shivering with anticipation.
Dean lines up with Cas’s tight hole, and first inserts a large finger, then a second. Cas moans as the large digits stretch and fill him. Dean pulls out and Cas almost complains, until he feels something bigger pressing in. Burning sensations jolt through him, then he sighs when Dean begins placing soft kisses along his neck and whispers in his ear. “Relax, take a deep breath. The more relaxed you are, the easier this is.”
Cas closes his eyes, willing his muscles to release the tension. He wants this more than he’ll admit, so he succeeds and the tension leaves. Dean feels the instant shift, and pushes his way in slowly. He stops to let Cas adjust, then pushes a little more. Each time he kisses along Cas’s back and neck, knowing he needs the tenderness for relaxing.
He finally bottoms out, and silence fills the cave for a minute. Then the three men begin, first Cas pulls out, then Dean, only to have Dean slam into Cas, which causes Cas to slam into Sam. The rhythm is almost too much, jolts of electricity envelope the three lovers, and they shiver with delight. They thrust again and again, picking up speed as they go. The cave echoes with the sound of skin slapping against skin, grunting, moans of ecstasy. Cas is the first to find release, his cock spilling inside Sam, then Dean follows, crying out Cas’s name as he cums inside the dark haired man.
But Dean isn’t done, as there is still one man that needs to be satisfied. Cas watches as Dean kneels in front of Sam, licking his lips as he eyes Sam’s erect cock, already dripping with precum. Dean runs his tongue over the hard phallus, teasing the tip, then taking his brother’s cock into his mouth. Sam grabs Dean’s hair and thrusts his cock forth, fucking his older brother’s mouth with gusto. Dean grabs Sam’s hips for support as the assault continues, and Cas practically drools at the entire whole scenario. Fuck! These brothers were hot and damn sexy! Sam doesn’t take long, a guttural cry escaping as he deposits his load, and watching Dean as his brother swallows every single drop. Dean stands, and taking Cas’s hand, the three men head to the pool to wash up before going to sleep, together.

angels; your best friends are the four most problematic angels in heaven
characters: castiel x reader, gabriel x reader, lucifer x reader, balthazar x reader, dean winchester, sam winchester
a/n: i might try and do a few of these because these four are my favorite i literally cannot handle it. so this is kind of a prologue to that series.
Dean is glaring at you from across the room, staring distastefully at the other four beings standing in front of you. Sam is gone for the day, but Dean’s sure he’d throw a fit if he saw the group standing in their kitchen chatting away while you cook them pie– pie. They’re getting pie and that is not okay with him. Angels don't even eat and now you’re cooking them pie.
“Winchester,” Lucifer spits, glaring back at Dean, “I hope you know that I can hear you.”
“Good,” Dean bites back, crossing his arms as he stands, making his way to your side, “what can I think that’ll make you disappear?”
“Dean,” you snap, whipping around with a whisk pointed at the Winchester, “we talked about this. He’s fine.”
Lucifer’s frown shift’s into a pleased grin, sauntering over to you happily, not missing the opportunity to shoulder past Dean and replace him at your side.
“Lucifer,” Castiel sighs, beginning another unsuccessful attempt at playing mediator between the fallen angel and the Winchester, “you are being childish.”
“Oh, I’m being childish, little brother?” he scoffs, leaning back against the counter with crossed arms, “you should be talking to Gabriel.”
Dean shakes his head, staring at you as if to ask is this really who you invited to the Bunker? but you avoid his gaze and pretend to be very heavily invested in the eggs you’re cracking. Dean just sighs, grumbling something about angels being the bane of his existence before flopping back into his chair, brooding from a distance and scowling when Lucifer meets his gaze with a smirk.
“You’re just jealous because you’re not the favorite anymore,” Gabriel grins, “Don’t worry, Dean-o, we’ll be out of your hair soon.”
“Sure,” Dean scoffs, opening one of his vintage magazines with a shake of his head and an annoyed sigh, “last time soon meant two weeks.”
He very vividly remembers finding the four angels in your room in various positions. Cas he expected, seeing as you had always been close to the angel, but Dean always assumed you and Cas had a thing going on, something he was not interested in asking about. But Cas was not the one laying on your bed, head in your lap as he flipped through one of the books you kept on your dresser. No, that was Gabe, and your hand was actually in his hair as you looked at something on your phone.
Fine, Dean had thought, fine, two angels. One he could handle, and the other he could half-tolerate.
When he spotted Balthazar looking through the lore books on your floor, picking up one about angels and flipping through it, he’d been more than a little bit surprised. He wasn’t sure when Balthazar had come back, and he was definitely not sure when he’d gotten close enough to you for you to allow him into the Bunker, but whatever. Balthazar was irritating, sure, but at least he’d helped them with Cas when they were desperate.
Then he saw Lucifer, laying on your other side with his legs crossed and his eyes closed in peaceful contentment.
He shakes his head at the memory, glancing one more time at the group before standing and storming up the stairs to his room. If he has to stand one more second of those four together with you he thinks he would be better off with Crowley in hell.
“What crawled up his arse and died?” Balthazar comments as Dean storms up the stairs. You sigh, shaking your head as you put the pies in the oven, one for the Winchesters and one for the angels (they insisted they’d enjoy it even though you know well enough from Cas that they won’t taste anything).
“You guys did,” you snort at your own comment, feeling a few glares on your back as you turn around to clean up the mess you’d made while cooking.
“I do not understand,” Castiel begins, “why would we be up Dean’s-”
“Can someone please smite him before I do?” Lucifer grumbles.
“No smiting in the Bunker, please.” “You humans and your rules,” Lucifer rolls his eyes, but he doesn’t move from his seat to approach the still confused Castiel, who has let any part of the conversation after Balthazar’s comment go over his head.
“Can you guys just,” you sigh, turning back towards the four angels sitting on the opposite side of the counter, “please behave yourselves around the boys. They’re still warming up to most of you.”
“They like Castiel,” Balthazar sighs, “I don’t understand why any of us are different from him.”
“Would you like the short list,” you look pointedly at Gabriel, “or the long one,” your gaze shifts to Lucifer. “Do the words Tuesday and Apocalypse ring any bells?”
“Michael started it,” Lucifer grumbles, “besides, that was ages ago. They’re too sensitive.”
“Yes, death will do that to someone,” you scoff, leaning towards Lucifer on the counter, “I know you’re not exactly up to par on humans, but we don’t exactly appreciate being killed.”
“Thank you, sweetheart, I’ll be sure to keep that in mind.”
There’s sarcasm dripping from his words, but you ignore it, smiling happily and taking the conversation as a win. You walk around to the library, picking up the book you’d been reading on the history of vampires and werewolves, but it’s plucked from your hands and replaced by a lore book on angels that you have yet to read. You glance over the top of the book, but all four of the angels are minding their own business. You almost set the book down to find the one you’d been in the middle of when you hear, “if you’re going to read that nonsense, at least read interesting nonsense.”
You roll your eyes, gaze shifting from the angels to the page the book had been opened to in your hands, skimming the words before setting it down on the table, making your way back to the kitchen.
“That book says all humans have a guardian angel,” you glance between the four, “do I?”
“Well it did say all humans, didn’t it?”
“Hm,” you glance at your hands, clasped together on the counter, “who is it?”
“Would it make a difference?” Lucifer sighs, “we’re all here. None of us are going anywhere anytime soon, apparently.”
“Just curious. So all of you have a human you watch out for?”
“All angels have had one at some point,” Gabriel says, “but for most of us, our humans have died. Now we’re all stuck with you.”
“If you want to know if it’s one of the four of us,” Balthazar interrupts, “it is.”
You nod, waiting for him to continue, but he just meets your gaze with a smile on his face that tells you that you won’t be getting any more answers out of him.
“So it’s one of you. Then why do all four of you stick around if you don’t need to?”
“What is it you humans call...friendship? Companionship? Even angels get bored and you’re very entertaining,” Lucifer smirks and Castiel glares at him, but doesn’t comment. You snort, taking a handful of flour and blowing it at him, laughing at the unamused look on his now flour-covered face.
“Well I, for one, am quite entertained.”
“I am the most feared creature on this planet,” Lucifer deadpans, “and you just threw flour at me.”
“It’s the simple joys, Luci.”
In retaliation and with a single snap of his fingers, you feel what must be at least a pound of flour pour over you, covering you in the white powder.
“Well played,” you shake your head, a cloud of flour from the top of your head surrounding you, “you’d better watch your back.”
“You’re lucky you’re not a Winchester because threatening me would not be wise.”
You shrug, taking a handful of flour from the floor and throwing it at him, blowing a kiss when his scowl deepens. With another snap of his fingers, the flour surrounding him is gone.
“I still want to know which one of you is my guardian angel,” you glance between them, sitting on the only empty stool between Balthazar and Gabriel, who snaps his fingers to rid you of the flour covering you.
“Let’s just say we split the responsibility evenly,” Balthazar eventually says when the other three angels refuse to respond, “guardian angels only get one human to look after, and when they pass on we don’t get another human chosen specifically for us to watch over. And the one of us who is your real guardian angel will tell you eventually, but I personally don’t think it matters. I quite like this.”
He motions to the five of you sitting together at the counter and you smile, because you definitely like it too.
“You big ‘ol sap,” Gabriel shakes his head, snapping his fingers to make the pies materialize from the oven in front of him.
“Only one,” you remind him, “the other is for the boys.”
“I thought we were the boys,” Lucifer mutters with a mouth already full of pie.
“We are not boys,” Castiel states, “we are angels of the Lord.”
“Speak for yourself,” Lucifer scoffs.
“Sam’s home in a few,” you hear Dean shout from the balcony above you, “have fun explaining this little playdate to him.”
“Bye, Dean-o!”
Gabriel snaps his fingers and suddenly the silence of the Bunker’s kitchen is replaced by the sounds of heavy traffic and unfamiliar voices.
“Gabe,” you run a hand over your face, refusing to open your eyes and look at your surroundings, “where did you take us?”
“I believe we’re in Paris, darling.”
You open your eyes, the Eiffel Tower standing proudly in the distance. You turn towards Gabriel, who has taken a sudden interest in the the sky, although you can see the smirk on his face.
“Gabriel,” Castiel sighs, “we should go back. Dean will worry.”
“I’m sure Dean and that oaf brother of his will manage on their own for the rest of the day,” Lucifer puts an arm over your shoulders, guiding you towards the nearest cafe, “and I haven’t been to Paris since the Apocalypse.”

Shattered - Gabriel
Tumblr media
Pairing: Gabriel x Reader
Warnings: grief over major character death, flangst (it ends happy. Trust me.)
A/N: This is for @girl-next-door-writes Disney Birthday Challenge. This is horribly late because she kindly gave me an extension when my world went to pot. The prompt is in bold below. Sorry it took me so long but I hope you like it!
***
You wandered through the bunker in the dark, well familiar with its layout by now. You didn’t sleep much lately, instead spending hours roaming through the rooms in your home. Occasionally you’d cook or read. Sometimes you even played one of Dean’s video games. It wasn’t that you didn’t want to sleep. Hell, you longed for it. But in the allusive moments you managed to catch here and there were the nightmares. Horrible scenes where Gabriel screamed for you to help him as he reached toward you and you were always too late to save him.
Sometimes the two of you were surrounded by blood—covered with it, soaked in it.
A few times there had been an ocean roiling in a storm, the massive waves sucking him down into the endless black while they pushed you further and further away from him.
Once there’d been an unrelenting sun shining on an expanse of empty desert while Gabriel dug fingers into ever shifting sand as he tried to drag himself to water that was always just beyond his reach. Every time you tried to close the distance between you, you sank further into the soft ground.
It was the other dreams that you dreaded the most. The ones that you wished to avoid at all costs. The dreams that left you longing and aching for your angel. Those were the ones that brought into harsh relief just how empty your arms and your bed were. You would weep hopelessly from the reminder of what you’d lost and your already broken heart would shatter just a little bit more.
Images of you and Gabriel curled up together in a large hammock on the beach while it gently rocked in the ocean breeze, laughter dancing in the air around you while you basked in each other’s love.
The two of you getting married under a starry sky in a clearing lit by torches. His wings on full display as he smiled that cheeky grin you so loved.
Gabe holding a giggling baby with his hair and your eyes while you looked on full of love for them both. And he’d turn to look at you and give you a true, genuine smile—that sincere one you didn’t see nearly enough.
Those were the nights you could never get back to sleep, the wound too raw and abrasive. You knew you should try to get past it, to move on, but you couldn’t. Gabe was it for you. Your soulmate. How could you possibly get over losing everything?
The boys woke to the smell of coffee and bacon and shuffled their way to the kitchen.
“Hey,” Sam said in a soft voice as you passed him a mug of coffee. He kissed you on the cheek. “Thanks.”
Dean wasn’t nearly as amiable as his brother until he had his morning caffeine. He grunted a hello and sat at the table, giving you a small nod when you placed his mug in front of him.
He was halfway through his second cup and nearly done with his food before he spoke. “Still not sleeping?”
You glanced to him in surprise. His mouth was twisted as if he was biting back something he desperately wished to say. “I sleep,” you said defensively. If it was only an hour at a time you snatched here and there, well that was none of his business.
“No, you don’t.” He leaned back in his chair and the corners of his mouth pulled down in a sharp frown. “You think I can’t hear you when you wake up in the middle of the night? That I don’t realize you pad around here at all hours like a damn ghost? This has got to stop.”
“Dean.” Sam’s voice was tight, a warning in it as his gaze darted between the two of you.
“No, Sam. We’ve let her grieve. And for a lot longer than we should have. I’m tired of her moping around all the damn time.”
You physically jerked from the pain caused by his words. “I’m sorry my mourning is an inconvenience for you, Winchester. I’ll make sure not to bother you any further.” Your voice cracked on the last words. The Winchesters might not be blood, but they were your family. The thought that they may think of you as no more than a burden made your heart ache that much more.
“He didn’t mean it like that, Y/N,” Sam said in an attempt to placate you.
Your gaze darted to him. “Then how did he mean it, Sam?”
Dean leaned forward with a sigh. “I meant that it’s breaking my heart to see you like this, sweetheart. You’ve barely smiled in months and you haven’t laughed at all. You were always the bright spot in all this mess. I hate this, Y/N. Gabriel would hate this.”
Tears instantly flooded your eyes. “Don’t. Don’t say his name. Don’t talk about him like you have the slightest inkling what he would want.” The tears overflowed to spill down your cheeks.
“Don’t be like this. I think we knew him well enough to be able to say that the last thing he would want is for you to be miserable,” Sam said.
Your gaze shifted between the two brothers. “You don’t understand. I’m shattered and I don’t think I can be fixed.”
***
Late that night you laid on your bed, hands behind your head as you stared at the ceiling. Your eyes burned with fatigue but you still had no desire to go to sleep. You’d been holed up in your room ever since your discussion with the brothers that morning. They’d both tried to get you to come out at various points throughout the day, but you’d ignored them.
Dean was right. It was time for you to try to put this behind you, but how did you even begin to do that? A fluttering of wings interrupted your thoughts and you groaned. The brothers had sent their errand boy. “I’m not in the mood, Cas. Come back tomorrow.”
“Not Cassie. Sorry, sweetheart.”
Your entire body froze at the sound of the voice that had haunted your sleeping and waking hours for the past months. When you closed your eyes, hot tears leaked from the corners. “He’s not here. It’s not real.” You’d had this dream before, fallen asleep in mid-thought and conjured him up. That moment before you realized he wasn’t real had been your happiest moment since his death. The moment after? Almost worse than losing him the first time.
Fingers brushed along your skin as they traced the lines of your face. You took a shuddering breath knowing if you opened your eyes and he wasn’t there, it just might kill you this time.
“Look at me.” It wasn’t a question or a request. It was a plea, a tone you rarely heard from the confident angel.
You held your breath as you opened your eyes. When your gaze met whiskey eyes and a lopsided grin, that breath came out in a ragged sigh. Tears flowed freely now and you pressed your hand against your mouth in an attempt to keep the sobs at bay. “Gabriel.”
The name felt foreign on your tongue. You hadn’t allowed yourself to say it since he died. Realization slammed into you. Not dead. Gone. He’d left you and let you think it was forever. You pulled away from him and sat up against the wall. His smile fell at the loss of contact.
“Please don’t cry, sugar. My heart can’t take it. I’m back. Everything is going to be all right now.” He placed one knee on the bed to close the new distance between you but moved back when you shook your head.
You pressed a fist against your chest hoping to ease the ache you felt there. “You left me.”
“I didn’t have a choice.” His eyes searched your face.
“I thought you were dead.”
“I was for a bit.” He shrugged one shoulder and grimaced in pain.
You were on your knees in an instant and moving across the bed, your hurt and anger melting away at the thought he might be injured. Your hands hovered over him as you weren’t certain where to touch. “Are you hurt?”
He gripped your wrist and moved your hand to rest on his chest. His fingers remained wrapped around your arm and his thumb slid along your skin. “I’m okay, Y/N. Just still healing.”
Your eyebrows shot up as you frowned. “Still?”
He moved both hands to cup your face and looked into your eyes. “Even miracles take a little time. I would have been here the moment I was resurrected if I could have been. I’ve been waiting to get healthy enough to come to you. As it was, I had to call in a favor to get here today.”
“Did you hurt yourself coming here?” Panic laced your voice. “Why didn’t you wait?”
He chuckled. “After Dean spent about fifteen minutes cussing me out via prayer, I decided it was perhaps best if I didn’t make you wait any longer. Besides, I missed you. I missed you so much.”
You leaned forward and pressed your lips to his. And as your angel wrapped his arms around you to hold you tight, you felt your heart piece itself back together. Maybe you could be fixed after all.

Always You 4
A/n: AU!Story.  This is a Gabriel AU reader insert…Gabriel is a writer and hopelessly in love with Cas’ little sister. After a failed relationship that ended badly in the past, Gabriel is just a shell of what he used to be. Now he has to work on being himself again to get the girl. (Cas in this story is hippie Cas) Slight smut in this chapter.
Link to Chapter 3
Words: 1,976
Pairings: Gabriel x Reader
___________
After you stormed out the door Gabriel and Cas stood in an awkward silence. Cas finally looked to face Gabriel.
“Are you gonna go after her?”
Gabriel gave Cas a glare before turning and walking in the opposite direction. Cas remanding looking in the place where his best friend stood a moment longer before shrugging and going back to his and Dean’s room. He couldn’t be the one that fixed everything between Gabriel and yourself. The two of you would have to learn to fix your issues without him.
“I don’t know why I fool with either one of them.”
He muttered shutting the door behind him.
Meanwhile, Gabriel stormed into his bedroom also slamming the door before beginning to pace. Did the two of really just have this argument? Did you both really just break up over their stupid tempers getting the better of them? Gabriel yanked at his hair trying to piece together what happened.
It was entirely his fault. That he got. He shouldn’t have let his stupid insecurities come between the two of you and rule over his common sense. You wasn’t going to go fuck that doctor. He knew that! If you had waited that long for Gabriel to make a move on you then you wouldn’t go throw it all away for some older man (some loaded arrogant older man). He had to give you some credit there. Gabriel couldn’t even remember the last time that you had gone on a date until the two of you had became a couple.
  “Fuck!”
Gabriel growled angrily. He was just starting to feel like his real self again.  It had been a long time since he has felt that way too!! Gabriel didn’t know the last time that he has used that many pick up lines on someone the way he had you earlier that morning. Watching you blush bright red and having to make yourself pull away from him felt nice.
There was also the matter of his and Sarah’s son. Gabriel still didn’t know how he felt about that. He had a child that he knew nothing about and hadn’t seen. This also meant that he would have to somehow deal with Sarah! That was the last thing that he wanted to be doing but it looked like he was going to have to find someway to be able to do so.
“Fuck me sideways I have got to do something!”
Gabriel quickly got his keys and walked out the door. He was thankful that neither Cas nor Dean were in the living room. He didn’t want to deal with a mini Spanish Inquisition at the moment.
Arriving at the hospital, Gabriel didn’t know what in the world he would say to you. Hopefully winging it would be okay. He didn’t even know where the hell you were going to be at. Here he stood in a huge hospital looking for a doctor. Rolling his eyes he noticed the ER receptionist desk a few feet away. That would be a good place to start!
Walking up to the front desk in the emergency room the receptionist looked up from her computer grumpily.
  “Can I help you?”
Gabriel looked around the room again before looking back to the woman.
“I need to see Dr. Y/n Novak.”
The receptionist looked down at her computer again.
  “The reason?”
Gabriel frowned. The fuck was it this bitches business? Did she really want him to unload on her? Gabriel guessed that would be a big hell no. Trying to keep his temper down he smiled politely. Killing people with kindness was supposed to work better than being a complete ass right?
“I’m her boyfriend. It’s an emergency so can you kind of hurry it up?”
The receptionist looked slightly taken back but picked up her phone.
  “Hold on.”
The woman turned moving to her phone dialing what Gabriel assumed was your number. Gabriel turned his back to the woman looking around the emergency room. He didn’t understand how you could do this job. After yours parents died in the awful car crash he never understood how you could look at sick or injured people the same way. Your parents deaths made Cas lose his serious grip on reality and live for the moment while it made you more driven. It was you that Gabriel had been worried about. Being a teenager and close to your parents should have affected you more than it did. Gabriel guessed in some ways you kept things bottled up where Cas just ripped up the book known as his life and went wild.
When the double doors opened and you stepped out, Gabriel felt his mouth drop when he saw all the blood on your scrubs. You looked beyond shocked to see Gabriel standing there…shocked and hurt. Your eyes looked at him closely, clearly searching for what kind of emergency was happening. Gabriel hated that look in your eyes as you walked over.
“What’s wrong?!! Is it Cas?! Is he alright?!”
  Gabriel nodded.
“He’s fine. I need to talk to you.”
You frowned. You clearly didn’t want to hear anything that he had to say at the moment. Sure, you knew that you would have to face him that night when you got home. Deep down you were hoping that he would be asleep when you rolled. You could flop down on the couch and sleep until the next afternoon. That should have been enough time for Gabriel to calm his ass down (and you too).
“I’m kind of working Gabriel. What is the emergency?”
Gabriel sighed as the receptionist made a loud “uh huh!” He gave the woman a cold glare.
“All right I lied!! Sheesh nosy! Mind your own business will ya?”
Gabriel gave the receptionist another cold glare before physically moving so that he didn’t have to look at the hateful little troll of a woman.
“Y/n, I need to talk to you about earlier.”
You sighed but was amused by his hot headed response. That was your normal Gabriel.
“Want me to call security doctor?”
The troll lady asked again. Gabriel looked back to her again with a sneer.
“Don’t you have some papers to file or something?”
  You shook your head.
“No. It’s fine. I have a few minutes. Come on Gabriel.”
Gabriel followed you to the almost empty waiting room sitting down. You sat down across from Gabriel who leaned forward taking your hands in his.
“Sugar I know you are mad. My attitude was awful at home. I didn’t mean anything I said. I’m sorry I said all that shit.”
You leaned back but didn’t let your hands leave Gabriel’s grasp.
“Then why did you say it?”
  Gabriel shrugged..
“Why do we do anything we do when we are angry or in my case scared out of my ever loving mind? I was freaking out about everything that happened with Sarah. I freaked out when I realized that I am going to have to be sociable with her and with a kid that I know absurdity nothing about. I was…am afraid that it is going to affect us. I finally got what I wanted and now everything is falling apart. Y/n,you know I don’t do well with turmoil or drama.”
You pressed your lips together watching his facial expressions carefully.
“No, you don’t. You never have. Look Gabe, you know I hate Sarah. I think everyone in our house hates Sarah. If voodoo magic worked….she would be a dead woman. Cas already texted me and offered to pay some random Italian mob boss to make her mysteriously disappear. If that doesn’t tell you something I don’t know what will. Gabriel, I am not threatened by her anymore. Worried about how she is going to potentially treat you..yes. I am also concerned about this kid. What kind of lies has been spoon fed his whole life? Because you know as well as I do there has been a ton. The kid seemed fine enough to me earlier but that was just a physical exam. Mentally, I don’t know what is stewing up in there. What are we going to do,Gabe?”
Both of you were quiet for a moment. Gabriel moved to sit in the chair beside you. He took extra care to not break the physical contact that he had with you.
“Well, first things first, I am going to find me a lawyer. I guess that means I will be calling Michael tomorrow. I know that we agreed to see less of him but I think he will know what to do.”
Emma nodded. You didn’t like the idea of facing Gabriel’s older brother but the man was one of the best lawyers in town.
“Definitely a good decision. I hope he isn’t offended that none of us have talked to him since Thanksgiving. I feel bad for poor Sam. He has to be an ass to work for but Michael knows his shit.”
Gabriel sighed before focusing his attention back on you. You  looked exhausted as you rested your chin on your hand.
  “So what about us?”
He finally asked. Gabriel was afraid to hear the answer to this. What if you told him to get lost? There was no way that he could handle that and stay sane! You looked in his direction again.
“Gabriel, if you are concerned about me not wanting to be with you because of the kid than that  is the craziest thing that you could possibly think. If Sarah thinks I am going to step aside and let her destroy you again the bitch better be gearing up for a fight. Look I’m sorry about all the shit I said earlier.”
  Gabriel nodded.
“Me too. You didn’t deserve any of that.”
You smiled laying your head on his shoulder.
“I can totally believe that especially since you came down here to talk to me.”
  Gabriel chuckled.
“You know I hate hospitals. How much longer do you have to go before you can get out of here?”
You looked down at your watch.
“About 5 hours. I didn’t want to sign up for a full 12 hour go around. Gabriel, I don’t want you to worry about Dr. Jones. There is absolutely nothing there. I want you ...just you.”
  “I know. I trust you.”
You stood up knowing that you needed to get back to work Gabriel quickly stood wrapping his arms around her waist.
“Darlin, I I have to be crazy about you to be holding you all covered in someone’s blood.”
You laughed and stood on your tiptoes to press a kiss to his lips.
  “Always the romantic.”
Gabriel gave you an eyebrow wiggle and muzzled his face against yours.
“I’m about to romance the pants off of you sugar. I’ll be up when you get home.”
You smiled looking completely happy now. That was the smile that Gabriel needed to know that everything was okay. He intertwined his hand with yours before walking out of the small waiting room. Gabriel’s attention focused on the troll receptionist who was still looking at him.
“That lady wasn’t hugged enough when she was little, huh?”
You  put a hand over your mouth to stifle a giggle so that lady didn’t realize that Gabriel was talking about her.
“It sure seems that way. I’ll see you soon.”
Gabriel nodded, kissing you once more before walking out. You stood watching until he was clearly out of sight before turning and going back into the ER. Maybe the next few hours would go by quickly!

Word Count: 945
Warning(s): Reader’s back story.  Cheating (not Gabe or the reader), Arguing, Custody disputes, hospital visit.  Brief Destiel mention.
A/N:  Here it is.  The last official part of Valentine’s with Mr. Popular.   Dawn - you have this listed as five parts.  Yes, I’m aware and part five is a chapter for Charlie/Dorothy.
Part 4 of Valentine’s with Mr. Popular
After school
>>  I know you’re at practice right now but is there anyway you can skip it and come over early?
You sigh and end up throwing your phone to the other side of the couch.  You end up burying your head underneath the nearest throw pillow and just lay there.  “I must be the shittest girlfriend in existence.”
“Nah, that title belongs to my ex Kali.”
“Not helping, Gabe.”  You end up throwing the pillow on the floor and Gabe makes his way towards the couch.  He lifts your legs and as he sits down, he lays them across his lap.  “So..”
“I owe Dean a favor for cutting out early.”  Gabe pulls out his phone and quickly texts someone.  “I hope you have a fun night baby brother.”
“Dean and Cas?”
“Yep.”
“Damn it, don’t tell me that.  Now I owe Charlie ten bucks.”  There was a lull in the conversation so you figured this was the right time.  “Gabe, I need to tell you -”
“Are you sure?”
“I trust you and I need you to understand why I hate Valentine’s Day.”
You were eight years old when your dad left for good.  No matter how much time passed, you’d never forget that day.  You were home with a horrible cold, so a family friend was watching you until your dad got off of work.  You were curled up in a blanket on the couch watching whatever was playing on the television.
You remember Blake taking your temperature and then leaving the room to call someone.  You fell asleep again but a coughing fit woke you back up.  It was weird that Blake was nowhere to found when you actually needed her.  You slowly shuffled into the kitchen to get something to drink and that’s when you heard noises coming from upstairs.  Slowly, you walked up the steps one at a time, and down the hall towards your parents bedroom where the noises were getting louder.  The door was open a crack but you didn’t need to look in to know.  “Just like that Mr. L/N.  RIGHT THERE!”
Your dad was having sex with Blake.  How could he do that to your mom?  You curled your fist and quietly made your way back downstairs.  You picked up the cordless phone on the way back to the living room and dialed your mom’s work number.  You punched in her extension when they asked for it.
“This is Y/M/N L/N, how can I help you?”
“Mommy… daddy’s doing something bad.”
“What do you mean babygirl?  Daddy’s supposed to be at work.”
“Blake called someone after she took my temperature earlier.  But I kept hearing weird noises from upstairs so I went to investigate… They were doing things like that movie we watched the other night.”
“I’ll be as home as soon as I can baby.  I promise.  Have you eaten yet?”
“I don’t think so..”  She sighed and rubbed her forehead.
“I’ll bring you home something, just get some juice and a popsicle for your throat.”
“I will.  Mommy, I love you.”
“I love you too babygirl.  I’ll see you soon, okay?”
“That’s, oh wow.  okay yeah, I can see why you’d hate Valentine’s Day after that.”  You curled up into Gabe’s side and his fingers were running calming circles on your shoulder.
“My dad was so damn happy when he finally came downstairs.  That didn’t last long when long when he saw that mom was sitting there with me.  She had me eat, take some medicine and I passed out in her lap.”  You glanced up at him.  “Blake was still there, in one of his shirts and a pair of his boxers.  She tried to play it off like nothing happened between the two of them.”
“She kicked her ass out?”
“My mom told her she was fired and that if she ever showed her face around here again, she’d beat her ass.  Dad wasn’t happy about that.  The yelling started after Blake stormed out.  She told him that if he wanted to fuck around, he could get the hell out of her house.  The asshole had the audacity to try and take me from my mom when he left.  I pitched a fit and the fucker threw me on the ground and I hit my head so hard, I had to go to the hospital for stitches.”
“That explains the scar on your forehead now.”
“I told you this wasn’t an easy story to get through.  But Gabe, despite all that, I -”  Gabe takes hold of both of your hands and rolls his thumbs over your palms.
“I love you, Y/N.  Don’t go getting a big head because you’re the first girl I’ve told that to - ”  You cut him off by kissing him hard on the lips.
“Stop stealing my thunder, you asshole.”  Gabe chuckles as he kisses the crown on your head.  “I love you, I do.  You know that right?”
“Of course I do.”
“I’m sorry I didn’t get you a gift.  I think - mom has the stuff in the cabinets for chocolate chip cookies.  I can make you those, if you want?”
“And ruin this physique?”  He gestured at his body and you giggled.  “Maybe next time.  Now, I believe we were promised some pizza and scary movies?”  Your phone chimed from the coffee table and Gabe leaned forward to read it.  “Now that’s what I call some fantastic timing.”
Charlie and Dorothy walked in carrying a couple of pizzas and some drinks.  She stopped in the living room and got a good look at the two of you.  “Everything okay here?”
“Everything is just fine.”

Seems Inhuman (SPN Lucifer X Reader)
Summary: The Winchesters and Gabriel are in a bit of a pickle when an entire squadron of angels is outside their front door. Of course, they immediately offer (Y/N) up as bait and said hunter isn’t complaining. One Archangel has a bit of an issue, though, and voices an inner narrative that reveals why. He’s taken an unlikely liking to a certain human.
Requested by rileyapplezabini: 5) Reader and Lucifer getting in a fight and one of them yelling that they love the other one and then it gets really quiet.
Key: (Y/N) - your name
Warnings: Lucifer is a good guy AU (not excusing his actions in canon, if you don’t like don’t read), some cursing
Word Count: 602 (i know it’s super short, things have been crazy, but i thought this was a short and sweet one i could write that wouldn’t end up terrible lol)
Note: fuck you too writer's block you’re a bitch. Loved this request! It was adorable to write at 12:40 in the morning. Lmao thx for the request and I’m working on the other parts. Les Miserables and Riverdale invaded my life so uh if anybody wants to request that, hit me up.
“No, it’s a terrible idea,” he says instantly.
“It’s pretty stupid,” his sweet-toothed brother surprisingly agrees, “Letting (Y/N) be bait. Risky.”
“I think it’s the best option we have,” the younger Winchester sighs.
Castiel hums thoughtfully, though he’s already agreed to the plan and verbally so. See, if the group could avoid putting their friend at risk, they would. However, (Y/N) is the perfect bait for the angels, as they’ll mistake the hunter for weak and alone. With (Y/N)’s distraction, the boys and archangel company will easily be able to make a move.
“You sure you’re okay with this, sweet cheeks?” Gabriel questions.
(Y/N) nods instantly, “I think it’s the best plan of attack. They won’t see it coming.”
“If you’re in, I’m in,” Gabe nods before snorting.
Before he can even make the joke, Sam glares and Dean smirks to himself. The other two aren’t paying attention, though. Lucifer is in deep thought and (Y/N) is watching him with curiosity and confusion.
“I don’t like it.”
“Of course he doesn’t,” Dean mutters mutinously.
(Y/N) frowns slightly, “Why not?”
“It’s too stupid,” Lucifer emphasises, “You’ll get caught.”
At that, the hunter in question huffs, “I can handle it.”
“It’s not a question of whether you can handle it, but the angels aren’t stupid.”
“I can handle them, too.”
Lucifer immediately glares, “You’ll get caught.”
“Wow, have a little faith,” (Y/N) hisses. “What is it with you? If it were Sam and Dean volunteering for this, you wouldn’t have an issue! Why am I any different?”
“You get caught, they torture you for information and-” Lucifer starts, sidestepping his real answer.
“And you think I’d give it to them? Seriously? You’re unbelievable!” (Y/N)’s voice raises.
“I don’t think you’d give it to them!” Lucifer shoots back.
“No? Then tell me what you think for God’s sake! Out with it!”
Lucifer suddenly snaps, “I love you and I’m not going to let you get hurt by wingless monkeys!”
Silence. Lucifer reevaluates his words and realised what he’s just said before storming out of the bunker’s main room. Meanwhile, Gabriel chokes on his lollipop, to which Cas replies by hitting his back a few times.
“Holy shit,” Gabe manages through the coughs, “He actually said it. He’s never said it to anybody before. I tried to get him to tell it to me once and all I got was-” The archangel makes a strangled noise that seems inhuman.
Nobody pays much attention to him at the moment, especially not (Y/N), whose socks are knocked off. The Winchester brothers are unresponsive as well, utterly silenced.
Before anyone can speak again, (Y/N)’s resolve returns and, soon enough, Lucifer isn’t the only one to walk out. (Y/N) chases him down to the kitchen, where he tries to make another escape.
“Lucifer, wait,” (Y/N) stops him before he can walk out. He remains still as he’s questioned, “Did you really mean it? You love me?”
The fallen angel has to take a deep breath before turning to face the human he’s come to care for so much. “I’ve never cared for humans much,” He admits, “But there’s something different about you.”
He doesn’t have to say another word for (Y/N) to know what he means. (Y/N) feels the exact same way...just with a bit different wording. In a moment, (Y/N) crosses the room and locks their lips together, smiling at the fact that the archangel has only ever said I love you to one person before- and that’s (Y/N).

“Come on, Sugar, let me see them.” Gabe followed you across the parking lot.
“See what?” Dean asked confused.
“No.”
“Show me yours and I'll show you mine?” Gabe wiggled his eyebrows.
Dean sat up straight in the pool chair he was lounging in. Why the motel even had them surrounding a pool that looked like it’d been empty for years, he didn't know, but there was a cool breeze that evening that paired nicely with his cold beer, so they were relaxing outside for a change. “What the hell is he talking about.”
“Sounds like he wants to see her breasts..” Sam mused.
“Wouldn't mind seeing them either, but why hound the girl?”
“He wishes to see her wings.” Cas glanced up from where he lay, as if tanning despite still wearing his suit and trench coat.
“What wings?” Dean looked past his brother, to the angel.
“Pleaseeee.” Gabe was on the ground, clinging to your ankle like a child so you couldn't walk away again.
“Alright, Jesus Christ!” He scrambled up as you grabbed the hem of your shirt and pulled it off, right there in the parking lot. Dean and Sam's eyes went wide when they saw you weren't wearing a bra under your shirt. “Happy?” you asked, turning your back to him to reveal tattooed wings on your back.
“I am.” Dean muttered, with a full view of your front. Sam nodded quietly.
“You know that's not what I'm talking about, Cupcake.” Gabe said quietly.
You growled at him and stormed past the boys, going for your motel room. Their eyes following you, Dean taking in the wings. “Did you know she had that?”
“Never seen her with anything less than a t-shirt before.” Sam answered quietly, in awe of the dragon like wings tattooed to your back. The door slammed shut, and a moment later, Gabe was opening it and walking through it as well. “Just show me.” he whined, door closing behind him.
Dean looked to Sam and then Cas. Sam shrugged, but Cas was laying back again with his eyes closed.
You sighed. “Please, Gabriel.. They don't know.” You turned and gave him a sad look. “And mine.. they aren't as beautiful as angel wings.”
“Show me.” he urged softly. “It's just us in here.”
“Sometimes I hate you.”
“You love me.” he smiled, watching as you sat in the middle of the bed, your back to him and the door and window behind him.
“Nope, I need to know.” Dean jumped up and hurried over towards the window. Finding a crack in the curtains he watched as you sat on the bed.
“You're such a perv.” Sam muttered to his brother as he looked in over his brothers head.
“You're one to talk..” Dean mumbled, and they watched.
With a sigh, you closed your eyes and concentrated.
The color and shading of your tattoo took on a more lifelike tone and a slight shimmer from the light. And slowly, it began to lift off your back, the two large tattooed wings began to unfurl and grow larger as your wings spread out behind you.
“Stunning.” Gabriel breathed out as he reached out.
“Don't.” you turned your head. “You know how intimate that is..”
“Oh I do, darling..” he moved around, ducking under a wing to view them from the front. “They're beautiful.. you're beautiful. Can I see your full form?”
“Don't push it.” you warned him.
He laughed, and as it rang in your ears, his own wings spread out, golden and almost as large as yours. “Promise is a promise.” you sighed and looked down. “What's wrong?”
“I wish mine were as beautiful as yours. Mine are.. scary.. dark..” You were cut off by a shiver that rolled through your whole body starting from your right wing. When you looked up, Gabriel was running his fingers over it.
“Brilliant with so much color in the light.” he pointed out, in awe of them, his fingers moving over scales towards your shoulder. “Blues, greens, purples.. all I've got is gold.” You blushed, your body warming and shivering again as he continued to run his fingers over your wings.
“Son of a bitch.” Dean's eyes were wide. “Shes’s-”
“A 148 year old dragon.” Cas answered from behind the brothers and they both turned. “Still a very young, by their life spans. Gabe has been infatuated with her for some time, really.”
“That's why he started showing up more the last few months.. she's been with us.” Cas nodded to Sam.
“How- why-” Dean couldn't get his thoughts straight. “But she-”
“Not everything is black and white, you taught me that.” Cas pointed out. “Not everything supernatural is a monster. I'm not. She's not.” he glanced to the window behind them. “She's killed her own kind for you.” Cas reminded him of how they had met you, when you saved Sam's life and instantly won over Dean.
Dean groaned. “What do we do?”
“Nothing.” Sam answered, earning a look from his brother. “Look, she's our friend, right? You called her family yourself, Dean.” Dean rolled his eyes. “She's obviously scared to tell us, we're hunters. So, we act like we don't know. Wait for her to be ready to tell us.”
Dean glanced back inside and sighed. “Yeah, whatever.”
It was going to be hard for Dean to pretend he didn't know. He could lie better than most, he had a lifetime of practice, but certain things he had trouble hiding, especially from those closest to him. And you were pretty damn close.
Dean had decided to start simple. Bring you breakfast. If he could handle breakfast, he could handle the rest of the day. And if not, well, at least they'd be in a public place, so fallout was limited.
Knocking on your door, there was no answer. Trying the knob, he found it unlocked. He glanced over at Sam and Cas who were coming out of the next room, Sam pulling on his jacket, then Dean pushed the door open.
“Sweetheart, we're going for breakfast, are you-” the words fell silent on his lips as he took in the sight before him
Gabriel had done something to the room, it was much larger inside than it should have been. It was about the size of five rooms, easily, and three stories high, with a night sky for a ceiling. The furniture was gone, just a pile of pillows and blankets almost like a nest covered the floor. Dean couldn't step inside if he wanted to. And smack in the center, was a sleeping dragon wrapped around the angel. The massive iridescent wings wrapped protectively around his sleeping form as he cuddled up to a tail.
“Guys… I can pretend I didn't know yesterday, but I can't unsee this…”
Sam glanced in, and your eyes shot open and your head came up. “Oh..” Sam breathed out.
In a panic, you changed back to your human form, naked and small in the massive room. Before anyone could do or say anything, Gabes wings wrapped around you. “It took me all night to get that comfortable.” he grumbled and you huddled in his wings trying to hide. “What do you two knuckleheads want?”
“We-” Dean licked his lips. “We wanted to know if you guys were joining us for breakfast..” You peeked out from Gabe’s wings, and he didn’t miss how scared you looked. “We’ll be waiting by the car while you get dressed.” He gave you a soft smile and shoved Sam out of the doorway so he could leave and close it behind him.
“Do you think they hate me?” You looked up at Gabe.
“No, my little sweet potato.” He shook his head. “I think, maybe, they might be a little hurt you didn’t tell them. But they love you.” He gave you a smile and you nodded. “Hey, you never answered me last night. What’s your favorite treasure?” You gave him an innocent smile, and he shivered feeling your fingers brush over his wings. “Ouch!” He yelped pulling back and you stood there rolling a single feather between your fingers.
“Angel feathers.” You smiled softly. “They’re rare, and I always wanted wings that beautiful… I think yours are my favorite.”
“Mine are my favorite too..” He muttered, shooting you a glare while he fussed over the wing. But he couldn’t help but smile at how you looked at that one feather of his, like it was the most precious thing in the world. “Alight, get dressed before dumb and dumber come back in.” He snapped his fingers and the room was how it should be, including your clothes on the floor.
“Gabe?”
“Yeah?”
“Thank you. For making me open up, and for another feather.”
“Yeah yeah, just don’t yank it out next time.” He teased. “Or I’m taking a scale for my collection.”
“You don’t have one.” You chuckled.
“I’ll start one.” He threatened and pointed at you.

How to kill your wife Masterlist
You always hated funerals. The first one you had to attend was your great-grandmothers. Memories of your grandmother’s tears, her sobs and the smell of the flowers surrounding the coffin haunted you for years.
Then you had to bury your mom. That was the day you swore you never want to attend a funeral ever again. You avoided attending your father’s burial. Dean asked you more than once to say goodbye, but you just couldn’t bear the thought showing your father respect, not after all he did to you.
Dean is standing next to you. His arm slung tightly around your waist, hand resting onto your belly he watches his father checking his eulogy for Gabriel. You are covering Dean’s hand with your own, giving him strength only by touching him. Gabriel was an old friend.
Everyone is here to say goodbye. Benny and Castiel are flanking John’s side, prepared to strike if anyone dares to disturb Gabe’s funeral.
Tears slip down your face as you look at Gabriel’s wife and children. John made sure they are safe, just like everyone belonging to his family. You can’t believe you hated John some months ago. That you thought he’s the big bad guy in this sick game your grandmother and father were playing.
Your eyes drift toward Sam who is holding Eileen’s hand. Praying he will be able to move on and find happiness with her you give him a shy smile and Sam smiles back.
Dean leans closer to you, kissing your hair softly and you close your eyes at the gentle gesture.
When John finally starts his funeral oration, everyone looks at the former leader of this family.
“Friends, loved ones and family…” John begins. “It is an honor and privilege to pay tribute today to a very special person. Gabriel was remarkable in so many ways. He lived his life to the full and touched so many people during his time here with us. Gabriel was always reliable, till the end he protected his family, including all of us. I’m glad I was able to meet this magnificent man and I’m proud I was allowed to call him my friend.” John needs to compose himself before he looks at Gabriel’s wife and children.
“Go on boss,“ Benny whispers.
“We are here to say goodbye to one of our best, to one of our friends…to a member of our family. Christine and her children are part of this family too so we will make sure they are not alone during these hard times. I promise Gabe’s death will be avenged soon. No one will ever hurt my family again. Today I say it out loud…we will take an eye for an eye. Rest in peace my friend, Gabriel…you’ll be missed.” John ends his speech.
There’s a moment of silence as the priest says some words, prays for Gabriel’s soul and you all bow your heads to remember your friend for a moment. A sound, a clicking catches Dean’s attention as the priest gets a gun out to aim it at John.
Benny is much faster. Using his full weight, he tackles the smaller priest to get hold of his gun. Gunshots echo through the air and Dean spins you around to push you down, covering you once more with his body.
Castiel and Sam grab Gabriel’s widow and children along with Eileen to hide them behind one of the parked cars.
Benny is back on his feet after he broke the ‘priests’ neck. Storming along with Cole toward Dean he helps you getting up to lead you toward the bullet-proof limousine.
“Get them away from here,” John yells as more men storm toward the cemetery. Asmodeus is chuckling loudly as John simply shrugs his shoulders.
“Didn’t think you are one to disturb a funeral.” John chuckles as the doors of the church burst open and Michael along with Ketch and ten men surround Asmodeus and his men. “But ya know I’m always prepared. Better safe than sorry, Asmo. This is the end of the line my friend.”
“Arthur, what a pleasant surprise to see you alive. How is your love life? Do you miss Matty boy?” Asmodeus chuckles and Ketch narrows his eyes. Years ago, he would’ve attacked the enemy without thinking twice but now, he smiles at Asmodeus.
“I’m fine, thanks for asking, Asmo. I’m glad to tell you we found your beloved lover and I must admit she’s one hell of a woman. Pure aggressive red-head…well, at least she was till I was done with her.” Arthur says coldly. There’s no emotion on his face right now.
“That so? Need to find a better pussy then. Not a great loss. She was old, boring and too clingy either way. Thanks for getting rid of her for me.” Asmodeus chuckles and Ketch starts grinning.
“Did you hear that, Rowena?” Cole asks showing Asmodeus the phone he’s holding. “I bet now she will tell us every dirty detail about your organization.”
----
“Dean, are you okay?” You ask checking your husband. “Did you get shot, hurt…anything?” Your hands are trembling as you touch his cheek softly.
“I’m fine, Baby Girl. You?”
“You were right about the bullet-proof vest and security. I can’t believe these men attack us during a funeral. They have no shame or honor.”
“Hey, we are fine. No one got hurt. I want you, Eileen and Christine to drive back with Cas and Benny.” Dean says softly caressing your jawline with his thumb.
“I don’t want to leave you alone.” You whisper as a single tear slips down your cheek.
“Y/N, I know you want to be all in but…” Dean’s voice cracks as he knows what will come next. “Dad wants to see blood. An eye for an eye…literally…Ketch will have his revenge and he won’t go easy on Asmodeus. Arthur will avenge his first love and it will get ugly. I don’t want you to see any of this.”
“Call me Dean. Please call me when it’s over. I can’t sit home and wait, worried to hell and back.” You beg and he gently slides his fingers through your hair.
“I promise I will call you…soon.”
----
A pit in your stomach you look out of the window as the limousine drives away.
“Dean and the others know what they are doing, Y/N. Ketch will do this, not Dean.” Castiel says softly but your hands won’t stop shaking.
Eileen is nervous too, you can see the fear all over her face, so you take her hand in yours, squeezing it tightly.
“Our men will be back soon, Eileen. Don’t worry.” You say softly and she nods.
“I wasn’t able to tell him, Y/N…” Eileen sniffs. “I’m…pregnant.”
“Oh my god! Eileen! Sammy will be so happy.” You squeal hugging her tightly.
Your eyes drift toward the children sitting in the car and your wonder. “Where is Christine?”
“You see…” Benny coughs. “She asked us to take the kids so she can witness what Ketch will do…”
“She wants to watch?” Gasping you look at Benny.
“I told her to leave it be, to not watch. John guaranteed revenge. He always keeps his word, honey.”
----
“What is this place? Who’s that guy?” Asmodeus gasps fight against the chains holding him. Hanging from the ceiling, toes barely scraping the floor he looks at Eldon lying on an old mattress.
“This is my dungeon, Asmo. Thought you should see what you turned me into. This is Eldon, one of my favorite toys. Say ‘hi’, Eldon. Don’t be impolite.” Arthur chuckles.
“Hi…” Eldon chokes out, throat dry the man tries to warn Asmodeus but he can’t bring another word out.
“Good boy. Let me handle you some water and food.” Ketch says tossing a sandwich and a bottle of water at Eldon. “He’s barely interested in getting cozy with me lately. Always nagging about ‘I’m not into men…I don’t like you touching me…’.”
“You’re sick, Arthur.” Asmodeus grunts. “What happened to the fine, smart and deadly man I formed?”
“Well, Asmo you took away the only person keeping me going. You killed Matt believing it would make me a better killer for you. Sorry, but this is what I became. A torturer, a killer. I do anything to punish people only to feel again.” Arthur snarls as he cuts Asmodeus shirt open. Not caring he cut deep enough to draw blood.
“You will regret this, Arthur!”
“Ready if you are, Asmo. John, Christine you can come in. I got everything prepared for you.” John walks into the room, alone. “I told her to stay outside. It’s enough to hear him scream, Chrissie doesn’t need to see it, tho.” John sighs and Arthur nods.
“Better this way. I will cut him open like no one before. Any special wishes, John?” Ketch is looking at John, waiting for his order. “This is your endgame, Arthur. I want an eye for an eye. You can have the other one. The rest is up to you.” John says knocking his friend onto his shoulder.
The tall patriarch sits down onto a chair. Even while his stomach churns, he needs to witness every little detail…
“We should get some answers out of him first. After that…I’ll have my way with him.” Ketch snickers and Eldon flinches. “Don’t worry, baby boy. Daddy will not touch this bastards ass. I would never put anything into this rotten body.”
“Sick bastard!” Asmodeus spats, spitting into Ketch’s face.
“Is that all you’ve got, Asmo? Did you believe you can provoke me to kill you? I've waited for years for my revenge.”
----
Pacing around the bedroom you look at Eileen sitting on your and Dean’s bed. She’s nervous, just like you. It’s been over an hour and Dean still didn’t call.
Hands shaking and legs wobbling you want to sit down as the door to your room opens. Stepping inside Dean looks at Eileen on your bed.
“Why is Eileen here and not in Sammy’s room? I bet he’s looking for her.” Dean says and you slap his chest. “Never worry me like this again.” You sniff and he gently strokes your cheek.
“John told us to drive home. He’s at Arthurs place to witness everything. Cole and Michael are with him. Thought you need me here to make you feel safe…” Dean whispers as you rest your head against his chest.
“Eileen! I was looking for you. Never scare me like that again.” Sam pants as he ran through the hallway.
“I need to tell you something, Sam. I don’t know if you will be happy or get mad but I’m…pregnant.” Eileen chokes out and Sam rushes toward her to scoop her into his arms.
“If you excuse us now. I need to take care of my fiancée.” Sam sniffs as he walks out of the room with Eileen in his arms.
“She’s pregnant?” Dean asks. “Yeah.”
“Damn, Sammy and I are good. Knocked our girls up at the same time.” Chuckling Dean looks down at you, a cocky grin on his face.
“I was worried, Dean….love you…”
“I love you too, and the little bean.”
----
“You know, John…Mary always loved me more. It was a stupid decision to choose you over me.” Asmodeus pants as Ketch slides his knife over his chest. He already cut half of Matt’s name into his killer's chest as John clears his throat. “Mary was never interested in you. She was frightened, scared to hell and back. Don’t tell me shit about my wife!”
“Your wife? She was mine before you even laid eyes on her. Mary was mine! Her father promised her to me, but Henry had to interfere and make sure his Johnny gets another toy.” Asmodeus spats and John shakes his head.
“My father didn’t do anything. Mary told her father and grandfather about her fear and the way you treated her at your first meeting. Samuel was a hard man, but he was righteous, and he loved his daughter. He willingly agreed to let me marry her. She loved me, not you. Sick piece of shit.” John yells.
Ketch is busy cut the last letter into the man’s chest, but he doesn’t even flinch. Used to the pain he grins at John.
“You know it was a pity. That night I wanted to fuck her, wanted to bring her away but then the fire happened. What a waste of beauty.” Asmodeus snickers and John nods at Ketch.
“I know all you did was to punish me for loving Mary. For taking her away from you, but she was never yours…only mine. You will die knowing she only had one true love, and this was me, John Winchester. I was her first and only man. Ketch…an eye for an eye.” John orders and Ketch gets one of his special tools…
“What’s that for?” Asmo asks and for the first time, John can hear the fear in the man’s voice. “An eye for an eye Asmodeus. Ketch will use this nice tool to…remove your eyes…have fun, Arthur. He’s all yours…”
----
Outside the room, Christine glances at Cole who is gulping hard at the screams coming out of the room now. His blood freeze as the screams stops, but a moment later the same noises leave Asmodeus lips and Cole shudders.
“What is he doing?” Christine asks.
“Boss said an eye for an eye. I think he meant it literally…Chrissie.” Cole says and Christine nods. “Good…her deserves all the pain Arthur can cause.”
----
“Look at you, Asmo. A brand-new style.” Arthur snickers. “OH, right…without eyes, it’s hard to look at anything.”
“He’s unconscious, Arthur…” John says squeezing Ketch’s shoulder. “End it as you want to. He’s all yours now. Maybe we should send a warning to his friends and allies.”
“The same message he sent to us with Gabe?” Ketch asks and John nods.
“Great idea, Ketch. When this is over you will never have to do any of this. I promised you retirement, you’ll get it.”
“I’ll take the position you offered to me. Mick wants to settle down. I think he deserves this. He helped me seducing Michael to help us once again after all.”
“How’d he do this?” John asks.
“Mick said it’s his secret and I didn’t ask.”
John is walking out of the room, glancing at an eyeless Asmodeus once again.
This way to do business has to end now…the good old times are over…

He points the knife at Dean. “Do YOU want to die?” He walks toward Dean and puts the blade to his neck.“I could do it you know?” He nicks Dean’s skin and blood flows.
Dean just glares at his oppressor, while biting his tongue.
Crowley’s hot breath on Dean’s face. He growls, “I could slit your throat and it would feel so good. Watch that light fade from your arrogant, smug, cop eyes and get off doing it.”
Your gag came loose with Crowley’s slap. You plead, “Please don’t! I’ll do anything! Don’t kill him! I’m begging you.”
Crowley lowers the knife and backs away from Dean. He looks at you with an evil grin and a quirked eyebrow. He walks toward you, “Anything?”
Dean croaks out in a desperate plea, “Y/N no!” Dean knows all too well what Crowley’s “anything” involves.
Sam continued driving along the country road. There was really nothing this far out of the city. Just a few abandoned farms and out buildings. With John riding shotgun, the two Winchesters, along with their friends Castiel and Chuck in the back, were keeping a diligent eye out for anything out of the ordinary for this part of the county.
John had lost Y/N’s signal and now they were right in the spot where it had dropped. Sam knew she had left her charger and her personal cell on the counter at home. He smacked the steering wheel hard with the heel of his hand. How could she be so stupid? Thinking she could take on Crowley all alone. Didn’t she know he meant to end her, after Dean took everything from him. And now Crowley would take everything from Dean.  He thought. Sam knew they would all be lucky if any of them made it out alive. The shrill ringtone tone of Warrant’s Cherry Pie filled the small space of his brothers car.
“Brother?” Castiel answered his phone. “I will tell the others. Yes, thank you Gabe...No, don’t bother, hopefully this will be over before you could land.”
Sam’s blackberry dinged as Cas disconnected from his brother. He handed Cas the device and could see the look of concentration on his friend’s face in the rearview mirror. “Cas, what is it?”
“Gabe sent the files. So between Dean’s case files and the rest from Gabe we should be able to find something that will help us find them. Sam, pullover,” Cas demanded. His hope was that with four sets of fresh eyes, they would find something Dean had missed.
Once safely to the edge of the road, all four men step out of the car. John walks around to the back and pops the trunk open to grab the case files. He closes it up and lays out the files on the glossy black surface. He’s taken good care of this beast, John thinks to himself. He has always been proud of his sons, he just wishes he would have shown them more often. There is no time for regret now, his eldest sons life depends on him, but he vows that once Dean is returned to them, he will do better.
Sam stands next to his father, going through the electronic scans of the New York cases and curses himself for not bringing his laptop to be able to search on a larger screen. Gabriel had sent a copy to his brother and father and they split them amongst themselves while John perused Dean’s files. He is halfway through the first five when Chuck speaks.
“Sam, John, I think I’m onto something,” Chuck looks up at the group. “All of Crowley’s victims had a black substance on their skin.”
“That is in all the files, Chuck, but I don’t get where you’re going with it,” John interrupts.
“It’s motor oil. Used motor oil. Sam, check the map. Are there any service stations in this area?” Chuck directs.
Sam switches over to the map on his device and searches. There are two service stations on this road. Checking the time, he realizes how late it is and they would be closed. Then something catches his eye. “This one!” Sam points to a spot on the map about fifteen miles from their current location. It closed down about two years ago and is still vacant.
“That’s it! Let’s roll!” John throws the files in the backseat and gets back in the car. Sam takes his spot behind the wheel once again and pushes the car to her limits. Please let them be alive.

“Yes! Anything,” you breathed out. “But you need to do something for me first.” She stares Crowley down, just like she had a moment ago.
“Look at yourself, Y/N; you’re not exactly in the position to be making deals, now are you Darling?” Crowley gestures to your cuffed hands.
“Just let me say goodbye to Dean. Please?” you pleaded with him. Being a cop teaches you a lot of things, but this is a skill you learned from being with an abusive ex-boyfriend. You learned to lie and hide your true feelings, giving your captor exactly what he wanted: fear. “You’re going to kill him anyway, at least let me be the last person he sees; I’ll do it.”
“Y/N! What’re you doing?” Dean’s voice is still raspy, the cold having taken hold and the infection burning through his entire body. He probably had pneumonia by now and if they didn’t get out here, he was going to die anyway.
“I’m ending it Dean. You’re going to die anyway, from whatever is ravishing your body. I don’t want you to suffer because of it,” you reasoned with Dean and he resigned, his shoulders slumping even further.
“Crowley, please? You have the upper hand here, all the power. I am just asking for a little time with my boyfriend before he dies and you do whatever it is you’re going to do. I know you’ll kill me eventually, just let me have this time with him, before you make me yours,” you begged him, letting pain and regret seep into your voice, tears slipping down your face.
“Fine, but when I return, he better be dead, or you’ll both end up like my former ally, Gordon here,” Crowley barked. He kicked Dean in the ribs before storming up the stairs and slamming a door. Dean groaned in protest, his body curling in on itself in an attempt to quell the pain.
You threw yourself down next to Dean once the coast was clear. He was burning up and in so much pain. The tears you shed were real and they shed for him. You believed Dean was the love of your life and you would never to get to live that out with him. “Shhh, it’s okay, Baby. I got you. We’re going to get out of here, I promise.”

You wiggled around on the floor, easily slipping your lower body between the gap in your arms. Gordon was truly a dumbass, yes, but it worked to your advantage, using subpar cuffs with links instead of hinges, like all the new cuffs. Once your hands were in front of your body, you were able to pull a pin from your hair and get to work on the lock. It only took seconds and you were free. You shrugged out of your jacket and covered Dean with it the best you could, given his larger frame.
You crouched behind him and got to work on the lock on his chains. The room was poorly lit, but you managed to do it by feel, the lock giving way under the pin in your fingers. You pulled Dean to you, hugging him tightly. He whimpered in pain, but you didn’t care, he was there with you, and he was alive.
Police training had taught you how to incapacitate your opponent, but leave them alive. You kissed Dean softly on the lips, apologizing before you wrapped your arms around his head in a sleeper hold. It would knock him out, but he would still be breathing. You just hoped that you would return to him before it was too late.
You realized you were in some sort of underground room. You walked over to Gordon’s body that still lay on the floor. You searched his clothes, and concealed your delight when you found his phone in the utility pocket of his pants. Further searching also revealed a hunting knife and the sawed off shotgun he had subdued you with.
You closed your eyes and remembered leaving the derelict service station. Although you couldn’t see, you were able to determine which direction you were headed. Gordon had driven west for approximately ten minutes, he turned south, then it seemed like he turned once again and drove back to your original location. If what you recalled was true, that meant that you were still in the service station, underground in the pit used to change oil and work in the undercarriage of vehicles. That was actually the best news you had heard since Dean went missing. With fingers trembling from the cold, you tapped out a message to Sam, telling him where you think the two of you were being held.
The flashlight app on Gordon’s phone lit up the room and you were right. You checked the drain, but your arms were not long enough to retrieve the firing mechanisms from your weapons. You would have to make do with what you had scavenged from the former prison guard. The shotgun was bulky, but you were able to slip it down the back leg of your jeans. You hid the blade inside your bra and were glad you had more than just a metal nail file to defend Dean and yourself.
The phone buzzed in your pocket; a message from Sam. You sighed in relief when you read his three simple words; 5 minutes out.
You checked on Dean to make sure he was still breathing. It was shallow, as was his pulse, but to the untrained hand, it would be undetectable. You whispered your thoughts in his ear. Even though he couldn’t hear you, you needed to speak the words in case one, or both of you didn’t survive.
You rose to your feet, fear replaced by rage and determination and you stalked to the bottom of the grimy stairs.
“Crowley!” you howled from the pit. “Let’s finish this!”

The Past Calls
Part 1 of Past Imperfect, a Supernatural/Avengers/Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. crossover. (I know, it sounds crazy but just go with it.)
Word Count-1209
Characters-Elaina Mason(OC), Sam Winchester, Dean Winchester, eventually most of the Avengers and Agents of SHIELD.
Pairings-Sam x Elaina(established relationship), former Tony Stark x Elaina
Warnings-None for this chapter.  Blanket warning for the series canon level violence, jealous!Sam, possible smut.
A/N- This whole thing came about because I wondered who would win a fight between Grant Ward and Dean Winchester.  Somebody please stop me the next time I get one of these brilliant ideas, I’m begging you. If you need to have a time for things, this takes place during Season 1 of Agents before the events of The Winter Soldier and before Dean has the Mark of Cain. Unbetaed so all the mistakes are mine.   Tags are under the cut and, as always, if you’d like on or off my list please drop me an ask.

It was a rare thing for us to get a day off, to be able to spend time in the bunker and do whatever we wanted.  Sam and I had made a supply run earlier, before Dean was even awake.  It had been nice to spend time together just doing normal things after almost two months of chasing one case after another. Too much time in Baby and sharing motel rooms with Dean had put a little strain on our relationship but we were used to it.  A few days home, some privacy and we would be good.
We’d just finished dinner and were in the library discussing plans for the night when it started.
Candy Man blared from my phone making the Winchesters and I all jump. It was a ringtone we hadn’t heard in far too long, not since the night Gabriel had died at the hands of Lucifer.  My hands trembled a little as I reached for the phone, the peace of our quiet afternoon of shattered.  I answered it on speaker, motioning for the guys to be quiet.
“Who is this,” I demanded letting the anger I felt into my voice.
“Kiddo, I’m kind of surprised you answered,” Gabe’s voice came through, “I thought you would have deleted this number.”
“You’re dead,” I told the voice in a tone that sounded flat even to me.
“No, turtle, but I’m in Marquette so I might as well be,” his voice was getting weak, “I kinda ended up here and I’m not sure how.”
Tears started forming in my eyes, two code words that only Gabriel would use together.  I motioned Sam to start tracing the call and sent out a silent plea too Cas, “Okay, lollipop, we’ll be there as soon as we can.”
“You’re going to bring those two goofs with you,” I could hear the relief in his voice.
“Afraid so, bud,” I told him. Sam pointed at his laptop screen to let me know he had a location.  I walked over to look, “We should be there in twenty minutes even if it does seem like hours to you.”
“I’ll try to hold on,” Gabe was wheezing a bit now, “Group hug to you guys.”
And then the phone went dead.  Not bothering with explanations I ran to my room and changed into my hunting gear, slung my go bag over my shoulder and headed for the garage.  As I passed by the library I saw that the guys were still there, whispering so I couldn’t hear them.  As I stormed in green and hazel eyes turned toward me.
“Let’s go, Gabriel’s in trouble,” I all but shouted at them.
Sam came over and put his hands on my shoulders, worry in his eyes, “Babe, are you sure it’s him?”
I jerked myself out from under his hands, “Weren’t you listening? Gabe needs help!”
Dean looked worried too as he walked toward us, “We heard someone who sounded like Gabriel having a weird conversation with you.”
I face palmed, of course I’d never told them about our code words even though the idea had come from them, “Codes, set up after all that crap with the witches in Chicago. But we set them up a little different then you guys.  Let’s just agree I’m sure it’s him and get going.”
Sam and Dean held one of their silent conversations, then shrugged and headed for Baby.  As I got into the back seat Dean caught my eye in the rear view mirror, “I’ll drive but only if you explain.”
As I braided my hair I explained mine and Gabe’s code set up to the guys: two words that gave the situation, message received codes and time codes.  Even Sam looked impressed as he gave Dean directions from his GPS app. Suddenly Dean laughed surprising Sam but not me so much.
“You Star Trek 2ed whoever has him,” he said with a huge grin.
“Took you long enough to figure it out,” I said poking the back of his head, “You should be ashamed of yourself.”
While Dean drove, Sam tried to narrow down the area we were going to have to search from all of New York.  Eventually, he nailed down to a two mile stretch along the East River.  I looked at the map he pulled up and groaned, “Balls! Half of that is in Main Street Park.  Do you know how long that’s going to take to search?”
Dean took his eyes away from the road for a moment, giving me a look full of questions.  I met his gaze with my best innocent look, knowing that eventually I was going to have to answer those questions but not feeling like it right now.  He shrugged and turned his attention back to the road, after a quick glance at the gas gauge.  About half an hour later he pulled into a Gas n Sip and I ran into the store to get munchies and avoid having to answer his questions.
I was looking at the chips when a gentle touch on my shoulder startled me.  I turned to find a worried looking Sam behind me.
“You’re going to have to tell him eventually,” he said softly.
I bit my lip and nodded.  “When we stop for the night.  He’s going to be pissed that I kept it a secret and I don’t want him driving like that.”
Sam laughed, “He’s more likely to go all fanboy and want you to get Captain America’s autograph for him.”
I laughed and allowed that he was probably right.
Hours later I sat on the bed in some motel room waiting for Dean to explode.  It had taken almost an hour to tell him my whole story, shortened by the fact that he already knew that Bobby had been my uncle.  Sam was behind me, sprawled out on the bed while Dean sat too quiet and still in front of me.  He wasn’t even playing with the glass of whiskey that was on the table next to him.
“Dean, please say something,” I said softly.
He just stared at me like I’d grown a second head without saying a word.  He opened and closed his mouth without saying anything a couple of times before words finally came out.  “You were an Avenger?”
I nodded, unsure about where Dean was going. “And you chose SpellSinger as a code name to honor Bobby?”
“Yes,” I said keeping my voice soft.  “I’m sorry I didn’t tell you before, but it never seemed to be the right time.”
Dean turned his attention from me to  Sam, “And you knew for months but didn’t tell me?”
“It wasn’t my story to tell,” Sam replied.
Dean looked at both of us for another minute, then grabbed his jacket and stormed out of the room.  I heard the roar of the Impala as he drove away, probably going to find a bar and work things through in his head.
“I’m not sure if that went well or not,” I said, glancing back at Sam.  He just shrugged and opened his arms to me.  I curled up next to him with my head on his chest, eventually dozing off to the sound of his heartbeat.
