I love ur gabrielxreader fic! I can even admit that I read it slowly just so it wouldn't end quickly lol. I was wondering if you have any plans for a new ultrakill xreader fic?
HI ANON!!! thank you so much for your nice comment on my work 😭😭😭😭
For now, I don't have any ideas for more ultrakill x readers, I'm sorry :( but I can assure you that the moment that an idea spawns in my brain I will try to materialize it (which is what happened with the epilogue fic and that nsfw one, both of them x readers, in case you're interested!)
If you have any ideas, I'm open to suggestions!! My askbox and dms are open :>
And once again, thank you! I appreciate your nice words so much!

It has been, well, a long time since I’ve updated. So, so long. This past year has been bad, mentally and situationally. I apologize for disappearing, and I do come baring gifts. Well, kind of. *AO3/Wattpad are both rmorningstar21* Let’s get down to it. 1) How To Win Her Heart (Sam x Fem!Reader x Lucifer) is almost completely edited, and I’m hoping to have that up in full by Midnight tomorrow. This one is a commission, AO3 exclusive. The completion of it has been a long time coming, and I am excited to share the remainder of it! 2) You Can’t Have It All, Calvin (Calvin Fischoeder x Fem!Reader x Ethan) will be getting it’s last 3 chapters around the same time. They’re completed, but I would like to go through and double check my edits before posting. This one is another AO3 exclusive! 3) The Millennium Rose (Atem x Fem!Reader) is the next one I would like to tie up loose ends with. There are about 4-5 chapters sitting that I need to post, but there are two chapters between those three that I need to finish up. I know you guys have been waiting for this one, and I do apologize! I wanted to get that done in September, but the month got away from me. 4) I am going to end up posting a few odds and ends as Tumblr Exclusives, various fandoms that I personally am unsure whether or not I’ll ever make a true one-shot collection with. Those will be coming after this post, because personally I need to clean up my Google Docs a bit. 5) Crimson Staved On Withered Wings (Gadreel x Fem!Angel!Reader) is up and completed on Wattpad, and will be cross-posted to AO3 after my AO3 exclusives are up. The next book in that series has a currently undetermined eta, but is planned. 6) Destined For More (Gabriel x Fem!Winchester!Reader) WILL be edited - Chuck, I’m hoping soon. I’ve been seeing a lot of you guys want the second book, and I do have the start for it, just need to get some time to work on it after I catch up with everything else! 7) I am opening this up for character requests (not full plot requests, those are currently commission only) - my Supernatural Oneshot Collection of x Readers. Send me a message or a comment on my last one-shot (AO3 or Wattpad, doesn’t matter) picking up to two characters you would like to see me ship Reader with! I am opening this up to my milestone of 100 One-Shots, so there are 8 slots available (I have a NTP Crowley one sitting in my docs that’s waiting for an in-between to post). Example of the kind of request I’ll take: Cain x Angel!Reader, Hurt/Comfort. I cannot guarentee that all of these will be written right away, but depending on lengths/how many requests are received, I would like to work on the remaining 8 throughout this coming week.

Sweet Nothings
Pairing: Gabriel x Reader
Warnings: Mentions of cheating, implied violence
Word Count: 3876 or so
*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*
"Oh, come on, you have to go out with us! I'll just bet that you haven't left the house except for work since you broke up with Connor. That's not healthy, and you know it!" scolded your best friend/sister Ruthie.
You let out an exasperated sigh. "All right, all right, I'll go out with you girls. When is it again?" you relented.
"This Saturday night, 8:00 p.m., Bluestone Bar on 7th Avenue and 8th Street. I can pick you up if you want," she offered.
"Yeah, that sounds good. See you Saturday," you said as you hung up the phone.
The rest of your work week passed pretty closed to normal, or what passes for normal as a high school English teacher. You had term papers to grade and lesson plans to prepare, but nothing too major. On Wednesday, you had a meeting with the principal. He asked you to take over for the drama teacher in putting together the annual variety show.
You knew it would be a lot of work, but you agreed. You loved the opportunity for your students to shine as they show off their hidden talents. As soon as you left his office, you did the funkiest happy dance anyone had ever seen. You definitely had reason to celebrate on Saturday.
*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*
"Okay, chickies, first round is on me!" you exclaimed. Your friends, Ruthie, Charlie, Donna and Jody, all picked a chair after giving you their drink orders.
"I don't believe it! Just this past Monday, I thought I was going to have to threaten to kidnap you in order to get you to leave the house. Now you're all cheerful and ready to party? Who are you and what have you done with my sister?!?" Ruthie joked.
"Ha ha, very funny, Sis," you retorted playfully. "What can I say, I had a pretty good week. AND, the principal asked me to cover for the drama teacher and run the Variety Show. So, excuse me, but I feel like I have reason to celebrate!" you finished.
You left the table to put in your drink order, laughing and trading jabs with your girlfriends as you walked backwards. You didn't see the man before you bumped into him, and almost caused both of you to fall. When you turned around, you were met by the warmest pair of whiskey-colored eyes you'd ever encountered. His mouth was turned upward in a playful smirk as his strong, capable hands kept you from taking you both down.
"Hey hey! Looks like you got a live one, Gabe, and we haven't even had a drink yet!" one of his friends remarked as they set off to find a table.
Ignoring his buddies, Gabriel turned you around to face him. "Are you all right?" he asked. His hands were on your upper arms as he bent down to look into your eyes.
"Y-yes, I-I think so. I think I'd better watch where I'm going next time. S-sorry for almost knocking you over," you stammered as you introduced yourself.
"Believe me, Cupcake, it's always a pleasure bumping into a beautiful woman every now and then," Gabriel quipped. "Name's Gabriel."
You ducked your head to hide the rising color in your cheeks. "Thank you, Gabriel. Always a pleasure being rescued by a true gentleman," you replied with a small curtsy. "I'd love to stay and chat, but I promised my girlfriends"-you turned and waved at your table-"that the first round of drinks is on me. I was on my way to place my order when I quite literally ran into you," you giggled.
"Then I shall impede your progress no longer, milady," he grinned as he bowed gracefully. "Please continue on thy mission to procure sufficient alcoholic libations for thyself and thy lovely contingent of lady friends," Gabriel finished.
You had to chuckle at his exaggerated performance. "I appreciate your kindness, good sir. Perhaps we'll meet again under less, shall we say, ‘injurious’ circumstances?" you replied with a wry smile.
"No harm done, fair lady. Till we meet again," Gabriel said softly. He kissed the back of your hand, then left you to join his friends at their table.
As soon as Gabriel left, Ruthie was at your side in an instant. "What was that all about?" she demanded. "You sure were talking to him for a long time, he was HOT! Did you at least get his phone number?" she asked.
You stared off in the distance, watching Gabe take a seat with his friends. When he caught your eye, he winked and gave you a little wave, breaking the trance. "Hmm? Sorry, what did you say?" you asked.
Ruthie groaned in frustration. "Ugh! Never mind, let's just order our drinks and get this party started!" she declared.
*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*
"So, Gabe, who was that woman we saw you talking to earlier? You know her or something?" Sam asked.
Gabe shook his head. "Nope, just met her here, tonight," he answered.
"She's pretty, and she's got good-looking friends," Dean remarked. "I wonder, if I told her that she had a beautiful body, if she'd hold it against me," he smirked, giving a high-five to Castiel.
Gabriel shot Dean a look that told him to back off. "Careful, Dean, your inner caveman is showing. You'd better reel it in if you expect to have any kind of chance with one of her friends," he retorted. She’s mine, he thought to himself.
He sat back in his chair and thought about his brief but enchanting encounter with you. Lovely eyes, so expressive, he thought. Definite sense of humor, stunning smile, and a gorgeous body with curves in all the right places. Gabriel assured himself that he liked what he'd seen so far with you, and that he couldn't wait to know more.
*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*
A couple of hours later, you were still sipping on your second drink, while your girlfriends were on either their third or even fourth rounds. Some of the guys from Gabriel's table had filtered over to yours, and had asked your friends to dance.
Donna was dancing with Dean, Ruthie was dancing with Sam, and Castiel was with Jody. Charlie was finishing her third cocktail, when a woman from another table named Gilda asked her to dance. Charlie grabbed Gilda's hand and practically ran all the way over to the dance floor.
You were staring at your glass, wondering whether or not you should order another drink. You could go home, having fulfilled your promise to Ruthie by joining the girls for a night out. Too bad they had all left you behind to go dance with Gabriel's friends.
"This is stupid," you muttered under your breath. "I'm going home. They're all having too much fun to miss me anyway," you murmured.
"I'll miss you if you go home now," a deep and honeyed voice remarked with a grin. You looked up and smiled to see Gabriel taking the seat across from you. He reached over and took your hand in his, gently brushing his lips across the back of it. "Hi."
"Hi, Gabriel," you returned shyly. "Nice to see you again. Why aren't you out dancing with the others?" you asked.
"Because my dance partner is right here, debating on whether she should stay or go home," he replied. He stood up with his other hand held out for you to take. "What do you say, Sugar?"
All you could hear from the dance floor was a thumping beat in a song that you didn't recognize. For this reason, you almost decided not to take Gabriel up on his offer. But, you also still had a little bit of liquid courage in you, so you found yourself taking his hand. As you threaded your way to the dance floor, Gabriel's hand left yours and slid to the small of your back to guide you.
Just as you set foot on the dance floor, the song with the thumping bass ended, and a slow song came on. Courage evaporated, you tried to pull away from Gabriel and leave the dance floor, but his hand was locked on yours. "Ah-ah-ah," he said, wagging his finger back and forth at you. "No, no Baby Girl, I've got you. Dance with me, sweetheart. Please," he implored, reaching for your hands.
One look in his honey-colored eyes and you were lost. You nodded and stepped close enough to Gabe so that he could slip his right arm around your waist and draw you nearer to him. He placed your left hand on his chest, while his left hand settled on your hip. Your right hand slipped up to cradle his neck, your fingers slowly venturing into the ends of his light chestnut hair at his collar.
"Mmm, careful there, SweetCheeks. You're venturing into dangerous territory with what you're doing," Gabe softly warned. "Might lead a man to do something like this," he whispered. He dipped his head down to capture your lips in a tender, sweet kiss.
When you broke apart from the kiss, you were both trying to catch a breath. "I'll take it under advisement, you know, future reference and all that," you remarked. With the hand that had been so recently been running through his hair, you gently tugged him forward for another, deeper kiss.
The need for air caused you and Gabriel to momentarily pause in your kissing. You touched your forehead to his and grinned. "Wanna get out of here?" you asked. "You could walk me home. It's not that far. Maybe we could hang out on the porch for awhile. I-I don't really want the evening to end quite yet," you added shyly.
"Sounds okay to me, lead the way, darlin'," Gabriel took your hand in his, intertwining your fingers as you stepped out into the warm night air.
Neither of you noticed that Connor, your ex-boyfriend, was sitting at a corner table. He gripped his beer bottle tightly, glaring as you and Gabriel danced, then left the bar. You broke up with him over another woman, but he wasn't with her anymore. He had decided that maybe he wanted you back, and then he saw you dancing with someone else. Connor was determined that you would be together with him again, and he wasn't going to let anyone stand in his way.
*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*
You and Gabriel walked around the city, stopping in the park for awhile. You sat on a bench near the fountain in the middle of the park, talking and getting to know each other better. You told him you were a high school English teacher, while Gabe shared that he was a sales manager for a major candy company. Even though Ruthie was like your sister, you grew up an only child, whereas Gabriel had four brothers.
Soon, you and Gabriel arrived at your house. You lived in a well-kept, 3 bedroom carpenter-style house with blue siding and a spacious front porch. Still holding Gabriel's hand, you reluctantly climbed the steps, not wanting the evening to end.
At the top of the stairs, Gabriel drew you into his arms. "Well, pretty girl, I'd have to say that this has been one of the best evenings I've had in a long time. I met someone that I'd really like to see again, I danced with her, and I got to do this," Gabe remarked. He reached up to cup your cheeks and captured your lips with his.
You admitted to Gabe that tonight was the first time you'd gone out for fun since breaking up with your boyfriend, Connor. "I really should call Ruthie in the morning and thank her for this. If she hadn't pestered me about going out tonight, I never would've met you. I'm so very glad I did, because I'm having a wonderful time with you," you remarked shyly.
"Aw, Cupcake, that's not fair. You made me blush, and guys aren't supposed to do that," he teased. "For the record, though, I should probably call Ruthie and thank her as well. I hope that this is but one of many opportunities I'll have to go out with you," he added.
He hooked one arm around your waist and held fast to your hand as he guided you over to the swing. Once you were both seated, Gabe pushed off with his foot to gently rock you both back and forth.
"About that, about going out I mean? If I consulted my Magic 8-Ball, it might say something like....'concentrate and ask again'," you replied with a wry grin.
Already holding your right hand, Gabriel captured your left hand. Without breaking eye contact, he slowly kissed each fingertip one by one. "So, I was wondering....if you're not busy next Friday night....would you like to go out with me?" he asked.
You took a deep, shuddering breath before answering. "Yes, definitely. You may rely on it. Without a doubt. Signs point to yes," you rambled.
Gabriel chuckled. "Well, as long as you're sure, SweetCheeks. I'm looking forward to it," he replied softly. His left index finger traced along your jawline, turning you so that you were directly facing him. He closed the gap between you by pressing his lips to yours in a lingering kiss.
"You know, I should get your phone number, just in case. Here," you said as you handed Gabe your phone. He typed in his contact information and gave you his phone to do the same.
"As much as I would love to stay, Cupcake, I left my car back at the bar, and I should go back and get it. But don't worry, I'll be back to pick you up for our date," he promised. Gabriel stood up from the porch swing, pulling you with him. "Friday night, seven o'clock," he said softly, his finger tapping the end of your nose. He dropped another kiss to your lips before descending from the porch.
"Mmm, Friday night, seven o'clock," you replied dreamily. "Get home safe, Gabe," you said.
Gabriel turned to look back at you standing on the porch, watching him walk away. He winked, gave you a mock salute, then blew you a kiss. "See you Friday, Sugar," he called.
*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*
From your front porch, you watched as Gabe walked down the street until you couldn't see him anymore. Your phone rang in your pocket, with the Caller ID showing it was Ruthie. She wanted to know where you had gone, so you explained how you and Gabriel left the bar after the dance.
"He walked me home, then the two of us sat on the porch swing for a little while. We talked, and kissed...." you mentioned, a wide grin on your face.
Ruthie could hardly contain her squeal of delight. "See? What did I tell you? I told you that going out with us was way better than staying home!" she remarked.
"Yes, Ruthie, you were right. Happy now?" you retorted playfully. "Getting a little sleepy, so I'm gonna say goodnight, Sis. Talk to you later," you replied. She wished you goodnight as well, then you disconnected the call.
*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*
Leo Webb locked up the Bluestone Bar after finishing his closing duties. As he was walking out to his car, he heard someone groaning in pain. He was shocked to see a man sitting on the ground and propped up beside what had to be his own car. Leo recognized him as Gabriel, the guy you were dancing with and had left the bar with tonight. "Hey, Buddy, are you all right?" he asked Gabe while, looking around.
Gabriel turned his head to the sound of Leo's voice. "Did you happen get the license plate of the truck that ran me over?" he asked weakly. Gabriel had a cut above his eye with the blood trail mingling with the one from his bloody nose. His knuckles were scuffed up, leading Leo to believe that maybe he got in a few defensive jabs. Gabriel tried to stand up by himself, but was unsuccessful in his first attempt.
"Come on, man, let's get you standing up. Then we can get you some medical attention," Leo said, grunting as he helped Gabriel to his feet.
Gabriel mumbled that he wanted to be taken back to your house. He couldn't tend to his injuries alone, and he knew they weren't serious enough for the hospital. Leo reluctantly agreed and carefully laid Gabriel across the backseat.
*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*
You awoke to the sound of someone pounding on your front door. It was unusual for you to have visitors at 2:30 a.m., so you grabbed your baseball bat that rested next to your dresser. In a voice that was much braver than you actually felt, you demanded, "Who are you? What do you want?"
"It's me, Leo, the bartender from Bluestone Bar. I have your dance partner from tonight, and I think he's going to need your help getting put back together," he explained.
You set aside the baseball bat, disengaged the locks and threw open the front door. Standing on your porch was indeed Leo from the bar, his left arm supporting Gabriel. You gasped in shock at seeing Gabe's injured face and hands, and at how difficult it was for him to stand on his own. You rushed out to the front porch and went to Gabriel's right side to take his other arm.
Between you and Leo, you managed to get Gabriel into the house and seated on the couch. Leo told you to sit with your patient while he looked for your first aid supplies. He returned with bandages, peroxide and a basin of warm water with a washcloth. "In the morning, I'm going to check the bar's security camera footage," Leo declared. Before he left, he pointed at you and asked, "You good?"
You nodded. "I'm fine, Leo. Thanks for taking care of my dance partner," you replied with a quick smile. You continued working to clean up Gabriel's wounds as you heard the front door close behind Leo.
"Hiya, SweetCheeks," Gabe mumbled and gave you a weak smile.
"Shh, shh. Gabe honey, just relax and I'll get you patched up in no time," you soothed. "Want to tell me what happened, love? What do you remember?" you asked. Gabriel hissed in pain as you cleaned up his knuckles with the peroxide. "Sorry, I know this hurts," you murmured.
Gabriel explained that he got back to the bar about 20 minutes after leaving your house. "I was getting in to my car when this brick wall of a guy grabbed my arm. He punched me a couple of times in the face. Then he started talking about how he saw us dancing and that it made him angry. I told him that he should get his own dance partner, that you were with me. That earned me a punch in the stomach," Gabe finished.
You stopped what you were doing and pinched the bridge of your nose with your thumb and forefinger. "What's wrong, Cupcake?" Gabriel asked, taking your hands in his.
"I think I know who did this to you. My ex-boyfriend, Connor, must have been in the bar and saw us together. I'm so sorry, Gabriel that he hurt you," you said softly, tears shining in your eyes.
"Hey now, it's not your fault, Baby Girl, none of this is," he assured you. Wanting to know more, Gabe asked, "So, what happened with you and Connor?"
You swallowed a sob before you continued. "He and I broke up about six months ago. Found out he was cheating on me, but somehow the blame for that was on me," you muttered. "Connor and I were together for about three years. But it was during the last six months of those three years that we didn't....you know....," you trailed off. "Guess he went and found someone new to fill that need.
"I've been so busy with my regular workload lately. Now it's only going to get worse, because I'm in charge of the school's Variety Show," you continued. "You should probably run for the hills far away from me, Gabriel. I mean, psycho ex-boyfriend and workaholic doesn't exactly scream 'stable relationship material'," you finished.
"Pfft! Are you kidding me?" he scoffed. "Last night was about the best date--no--it was THE best date I've been on in years," Gabriel declared. He squeezed your hands as firmly as his wounds would allow. "Honeybun, I don't know what it is about you, but I already feel like I've known you my whole life. We have the same sense of humor. It's cheesy, but it works for us," he explained.
You giggled. "And at least we have a cute story to tell people about how we met," you pointed out, to which he nodded.
"Dancing with you in my arms was like...coming home. When we were out there on your porch swing, I felt like I'd spent every summer night for years doing that with you. And kissing you is an otherworldly experience, Sugar. Connor didn't know what a great thing he had with you when he betrayed your trust," Gabe said, softly stroking your cheek with his index finger.
"I guess in a way, I should be grateful about what happened between Connor and me, because it put me on the path that led to you. Gabe, I love that I can be myself when I'm with you, that I feel comfortable around you. It's like we've already been together for years, even though I know we've only just met tonight. You came along at just the right time in my life," you told him.
"One question, though. Can I kiss you?" you asked softly. "I promise not to cause further damage," you remarked.
Gabriel chuckled quietly. "Of course you can, Cupcake," he replied. You reached up to gently cradle his face in your hand and slowly draw him towards you to close the gap. Your lips met in a tentative kiss, because you were trying desperately not to hurt Gabe. You let him take the lead, and as your mouths moved with each other, the kisses grew more insistent, driven by desire.
"Whoa," you whispered, trying to catch your breath. "Gabe, that was amazing," you remarked.
"Not so bad yourself, sweetheart," he replied, also trying to catch his breath. "By the way, I'm so glad I have such a lovely nurse taking very good care of me. I think I'll need to be on bed rest for a while, though, and I would love to do that here," he suggested, waggling his eyebrows.
You tapped your index finger on your lips as if deep in thought. "Well, that depends. Do you think the best medicine is eggs and bacon, or pancakes and sausage?" you grinned.
"Let's decide in the morning, Honeybun. Wait and see what we're hungry for," he replied seductively before capturing your lips in a heated kiss.
"Hmm. Maybe if you're a good boy, I'll even set you up with a sponge bath, courtesy of yours truly," you grinned slyly.
Gabriel's eyes nearly went back into his head with bliss at the prospect of a personalized sponge bath. "Aw, Cupcake, you say the sweetest things," he replied.

gabriel x reader: i need some guiding light
[been going through a dry spell, so attempted a couple archangel song sprints. first was gabe with 42]
*
He had wandered for centuries.
Centuries spent living under the guise of a deity he was not, pretending to be more manipulative than he was meant to be, of being far more conniving and fearsome and ferocious-
As the centuries blurred together, as millennia morphed into one single breath, he started to lose track of where Gabriel had ended and where Loki began.
When the apocalypse was finally looming over all of them- Not the recurring cycle of Ragnarok- which he had had nothing to do with the last three times thank-you-very-much- he found himself being forcefully dragged back into the drama of his family, helpless when faced with the inevitability of his original purpose.
The Archangel Gabriel, destined to toot his horn and call the battalions of the Host to arms, the heralding of a new era.
He loathed that destiny, despised the story his Father wanted him to play out.
A Father Who couldn't even stick around to reassure His own children when they needed Him most.
The Winchesters would not, could not, convince him to fight, nor would they ever truly convince him to choose a side.
No- Gabriel had no one left to fight for, nothing in the entire Universe, in the entire Cosmos, worth risking his own divinity and Pantheon for.
Except, perhaps, the curious, wide-eyed, stupefied soul peeking around Castiel's shoulders, watching warily as the Archangel paced restlessly within his fiery prison.
A single glance, the gentle press of his Grace in your general direction-
Your admiration and disbelief were enough to give him pause, your respectful recognition and humility in his presence enough to soften his tone, posture going lax as he nodded towards you in acknowledgement.
The bashful smile that greeted him in return- full of reverence and captivation and cordiality- was enough to convince him, a brilliant beacon of hope in epochs of despairing dread.
It was an innocent trust he knew he did not deserve, but it was enough to smother his resolve, offer his assent.
He would do what was necessary to end this war, to prevent whatever bloodshed he could, to help rip his Dad's script apart while avoiding his brothers as much as possible-
Because there was still someone who believed in him.
Whether it was for the Angel he had been or the god he had chosen to become-
You had faith in him.
He finally had something to fight for.

Wingmates
Request: Hey saw requests open and I was wondering if you could do a oneshot or mini series on a wing soulmate au but it’s an au where everyone has wings and either you can only fly when you meet your soulmate or your wings match your soulmates?
Author: Holly
Warnings: None that I can think of
Characters: Y/N, Gabriel, Sam, Dean
Words: 2,049
Y/N = Your Name
A/N: I’m baaaaaaack!
Your feathers were literally ruffled. Sam’s long fingers combed through your wings, stroking feathers back into place following the windy storm you’d gotten stuck walking back to the hotel in. You stretched out your wings and yawned, pressing them back into his touch. Extending the muscles in your wings felt as cathartic as stretching your legs after being in the car for hours.
Dean entered the room carrying two stretched plastic bags of take-out containers and food. His wings were covered up by a rain coat draped over his shoulders. “Alright, party people, here’s what we got.” Dean put the bags on the table and started listing all the food he bought.
Sam quickly finished the perfunctory grooming of your wing and got up to claim food. You quickly followed. Dean’s stomach was a black hole, so you needed to take what you wanted before he had the chance. Once you had enough food, you all went to your seats and started eating. You felt like you were starving after missing lunch.
Sam waited until he had shoveled half of his food into his mouth, taking more vegetables than either you or Dean but eating just as fast. Once he wasn’t so hungry, he slowed down. “Okay, so we don’t have a very clear lead on this hunt yet, but whatever it is, it doesn’t have a clear victim preference.”
“Nah,” you agreed, “A teenager, a senior, and two adults, all different jobs, demographics… they couldn’t be more different if they tried.”
“Which they couldn’t possibly have done, because they didn’t know each other.” Sam added, nodding. “I checked everything. There is nowhere on paper where any of them crossed paths with any of the others.”
“So we look at the MO,” Dean declared, garbled by his food. Both you and Sam booed at his poor manners and he rolled his eyes. “What do we know of that kills people this way?”
The three of you went back and forth suggesting and striking down potential supernatural culprits while you finished your food. Personally, you were rooting for an angiak because you’d never seen one before, but with the victims, it seemed unlikely. By the time your dinner was all gone, your wings were fully dry, you were ready to sleep, and the three of you were making a game plan.
“Next morning, me and Sam can hit the morgue, and Dean, you can call Cas and see if there’s anything the police didn’t put in the official report.” You curled your wings around yourself in a comfortable resting position, like they were giving you a hug.
“Ah…” Dean glanced over at Sam. “Y/N, I think you should stick it out here and do some research. We could be dealing with something completely new.”
The highest arches in your wings slumped down towards your lap. “You just don’t want me to be seen,” you accused, preparing to sulk.
“Well, you’re… you’re pretty memorable,” Sam sheepishly admitted.
Your whole life, you had been teased and taunted for your wings. Sprouting from the edges of your shoulder blades and spanning six feet on either side of you when fully stretched, your wings were a source of both pride and shame. You would have loved them so much more if only they were a different color. The golden flight feathers and tawny, fluffier down lining the edges where wing met skin looked gorgeous together in any other context, but having the colors on wings? You stood out everywhere you went.
Hunting was hard when no one was quick to forget your unique coloring. Sam and Dean were reluctant to take you places, even though you were just as good at fighting and investigating as they were. Dean’s smoky, ashy wings and Sam’s rich, earthy shades were beautiful, but not particularly exotic or memorable.
You hated that your wings so often took you out of the action. They were a part of you, but so was hunting. The fact that the brothers seemed to think golden wings and hunting were mutually exclusive was easily your biggest problem with them.
You huffed and raised your wings angrily. “Okay, new plan, Sam and Dean, you guys go to hell again and me and Cas will solve the entire case.”
The thing about your wings was that they weren’t actually as unique as they appeared at first glance, because no matter how bizarre any person’s wings were, they had an identical match somewhere. That person was your wingmate, or your soulmate. You were kind of excited to meet your wingman (your favorite wing-related pun), but hoped he was older than you. If he was, then your birth wasn’t the event that had saddled you both with embarrassingly bright and obnoxious wings.
Having wings that stood out was a detriment in society. It really wasn’t fair, since actual birds had an easier time attracting mates when they had brighter wings. Humans saw it the other way around. The better you blended in with the rest, the more people liked you because you weren’t disrupting their precious status quo.
This was problematic for you on two levels. Firstly, you never blended in, so you were always interrupting the status quo. If you stuck around for more than a day or so, not even hotel staff would compliment the pretty colors. Secondly, you hated what it might mean for your soulmate. Did they resent their own wings? Would they blame you if they were the younger one? And was there ever going to be a place for the two of you where you could live comfortably together? Even assuming that one day you could leave the supernatural world behind…
But, when you stopped thinking about the coloring, you wouldn’t give your wings up for the entire world. They would help you find that one person you were meant to have.
“Y/N, it’s one angel.” Sam tried to convince you when bribing you with your favorite cheesy snack didn’t work. “Just one. Not even a violent one.”
Dean snorted loudly.
Sam glared at him. “Okay, so he’s a little aggressive,” he grudgingly admitted, “But only to people to piss him off! Which… we happen to have done. A couple of times.” You tilted your head towards your shoulder and looked at Sam judgmentally. “There was a misunderstanding,” he said defensively.
“A misunderstanding which repeated itself a couple of times?”
“Will you do it or not?” The taller hunter wearily asked, holding out a book and almost begging.
It was tempting to make him actually get on his knees and beg, and record the footage as blackmail, but since it was for an actual case, you reluctantly had to take the moral option. “Fine,” you sighed, furling your wings to your back. “I’ll summon him and then you guys can take over once he’s here and not feeling too stabby.”
Dean brought in a chocolate cake and a pie from the car, explaining them as offerings but taking the pie for himself when Sam had his back turned. Dean’s wings arched happily while he snuck into the other hotel room to eat the pie while Sam helped you to draw an anti-angel sigil, just in case. You stood in front of it and squeezed out some more blood to smear around on your palm to make sure it would activate if you needed it, then Sam left the room.
Summoning angels was an uncomplicated process; you just needed their name. You looked at the paper Sam had wrote it on and swallowed hard, your wings curling tight with some stray nerves. An archangel. Because summoning archangels had always gone so well in the past.
“Gabriel,” you said aloud, picturing a long-robed, long-haired guy with six white wings. You knew by now that angels never looked the way you expected, but you had no other mental image. “I pray on behalf of the Winchesters because they’re terrified you would smite them instantaneously. If you’d please come talk, we have some chocolate cake. And if you hurry, there’s no way Dean can finish all that pie on his own.”
The fluttering of wings not too unlike the sound your own made came from behind you, but when you turned to look, no one was there. Instead the silverware by the cake in front of you clinked and when you looked back towards it, a short blond man was picking up the entire cake platter to just go at it.
“Gabriel?” You asked, feeling a lot less intimidated now that an archangel was clearly so eager to get at the cake. Someone would be right at home in Willy Wonka’s chocolate factory.
“That’s me, sweet cheeks,” Gabriel said, spearing a huge piece of cake onto his fork, looking up at you and stopping. “Oh, wow,” he noted, looking over your shoulders. “Nice wings.”
You held your wings tighter to your body. Angels had never complimented them before and it made you shy. “Oh… thank you,” you said, reaching behind your back to soothingly drag her fingers over a long primary feather.
“Yeah,” Gabriel said, putting the cake down on the table and stepping closer to you. You took a step back, and he put his hand up and stopped. “Hey, look, I just want to show you this.” He wiggled his eyebrows and the air in the hotel room ruffled. Then, with an odd popping sound, actual, physical wings unfurled from behind the angel – tawny in the downy base and gold shades along the long, graceful wings.
He stretched them like they’d been tucked down tightly for a long time and took a look at them over his shoulders. “Would you look at that,” he said, looking back to yours. You reached out with your wings tentatively towards his, the feathers along the tips and edges splaying.
“They match,” you gasped, snapping your wings back to your sides. “You have my colors.”
“Um, I’m literally older than dirt,” Gabriel quipped, sending you a somewhat chiding stare. “I think you have my colors. But anyway, enough with semantics,” he dismissively stated, ignoring the fact that he was the one to bring them up at all. Sugar, my soulmate is a human and yours is an archangel. This is going to be a little complicated.”
“Yeah, duh, Sherlock,” you replied without watching your mouth. He was your soulmate – you weren’t afraid of him.
He raised an eyebrow. “Ooh, I love one with a spine, I was hoping for that,” he said, his grin widening delightedly. “Let’s go somewhere more private to talk about those complications. And we can finish this cake and go through whatever else sounds good.”
“I…” You almost leapt for it, but a shred of common sense remained. Serial killers had soulmates, too.
Gabriel flapped his wings impatiently and a gust of air breezed over your face and through your feathers. “Come on, ditch the bozos. I’m way cooler.” He winked.
Your mind made up, you reached for him while relaxing your wings and letting them extend closer to his.
After five minutes had passed, Sam wasn’t sure whether Gabriel was being stubborn, you had taken the cake and abandoned your assignment, or you were being yanked around on chains by the notorious trickster. It took a bit of cajoling, but Dean, who was still sore about the Mystery Spot, agreed to go back to your room and see.
Sam knocked and received no answer. Dean knocked harder. “Hey Y/N, open up,” Dean called through the door.
When neither of them got a response, Sam used the key card to your room to let themselves in. There wasn’t anyone there, but the chocolate cake was gone. So was the angel-banishing sigil. In the stead of the archangel and their hunting friend, there was a latticework pie on the single bed.
Dean immediately went for it. “Ooh,” he said, licking his lips.
Sam sighed. “Dean, no…” Obviously it was a trap.
Dean had barely touched it before the pie exploded, messily bursting and somehow managing to get cherry filling all over Dean’s clothing while leaving the rest of the hotel room pristine. A flag burst out of the center of the destroyed pie with “see you later, morons” printed on the little scrap of fabric.

Title: the beast in my bones
Fandom: Supernatural
Pairings: Gabriel (SPN)/Reader
Rating: T
Word Count: 673
Summary: “Landvættir.” He breathes, eyes shining auburn, “Honestly, it is just not nice to impersonate a stranger’s children,” There is an lightness in his tone, as if he’s almost laughing. || Creature!Reader
Fills my "Creature!Reader" Square for @gabriel-spn-bingo!
When you first see him, you are wary. You can tell he is not human, as his pelts smell of the ozone of the gods. And Æsir gods, oh , they bring trouble. Your mother, when you were a child, told stories of the lands of her youth, of gods leading humans and creatures alike to realms that did not belong to them. Rolling valleys and blessed lakes that were once untouched by human hands were poisoned and vast holy forests taken for scrap, taken to build homes and weapons used to slaughter those of your own kind. Yes , the gods were trouble.
You flit through the trees, silent save for the rustling of leaves, and begin to plot. What were gods fearful of? Surely not landvættir, curses meant nothing to gods with more magic than your own. No, not landvættir. Jötnar.
The god comes to rest by a stream, bare toes slipping beneath the water’s current. You wait, still perched high in the branches, and focus. Jötnar are those of legend, those of fire and decay, and the one you’d heard most of was that of Fenrir. Prophesied to devour Odin in Ragnarok. You picture him, fur as dark as the ocean’s chasms, claws as long as a sapling, and you growl deep in your chest as your seidrsurrounds you, pricking up the hair on your arms. And then you are Fenrir, devourer, heir to the bloodline of the jötunn Laufey, and you will keep the gods from taking your land.
The god’s attention is on you now as another growl rips it’s way from your throat, teeth gleaming in the light filtering through the tree-cover. His eyes find yours and he does not move, you growl once more, heavy and ravenous, and he smiles. Though this sets you off guard, as he seems not to be even the least bit startled, you continue-
“Be gone from these lands,” You boom, “Be gone or--”
The god grins wider, “Fenrir! It is good to see you, my dear child!” His tone is flat, cold, and for a moment, you think your plan has worked, that he will turn tail and run and leave your forest be.
But his eyes do not leave yours and his mouth, oh, it twists into a wicked smirk and you think, maybe, just maybe, you had managed to bite off a bit more than you could chew with this one.
“Leave this forest.” You try again, voice softer than before, “These lands belong to -”
“Fenrir, darling, one would think you would want to see your father. After all the time we have been separated, all of the torture, the trials…” He pauses, forefinger tapping his lips, “Say, were you not bound the last time I saw you?” There’s a snap and you can feel your seidr weaken, illusion fading with it. You move to run, but he’s on you quicker than you could take your first step. His fingers wrap around your shoulder and turn you toward him.
“Landvættir.” He breathes, eyes shining auburn, “Honestly, it is just not nice to impersonate a stranger’s children,” There is an lightness in his tone, as if he’s almost laughing. His hand moves to your face, thumb tracing the outline of your cheekbone and following up to brush wayward hair from your forehead. You do not speak. The tales you’ve heard of him - of Loki - were not kind. And yet, he stand there, still, looking into your eyes like he’s trying to find something.
“I’m not here to take what’s yours.” A smile plays on his lips and the hand in your hair drops secures itself around your wrist and squeezes, “Just passing through.” He is gone not a moment later; he is there, and then he is not - like the rustle of leaves you hear behind you in the dead of night. He will return, though - the black band of ink encircling your wrist assures you as it burns cold on your skin. You will be ready when he returns.
A/N: Jeez guys, forgive me, it’s been like 6 years since I’ve written xreader fic. I wanted to get the hardest square out of the way first lol.

Quiet Moments
Quiet Moments
Characters: Gabriel x gender neutral Reader; Dean and Sam mentioned
Summary: Gabriel and reader share a quiet moment
Prompts: “So I guess I saved you from a boring existence.”
“Occasionally, I miss boring.”
Infomation: this story is part of @purpleskiesandcherrypies “Purple’s SPN Quotes Challenge”
Word count: 1,249
Warnings: fluff; is sassy Gabriel a warning?
You met Gabriel a few years ago on what seemed to be an easy witch hunt. People disappearing for a couple of weeks and being found teared to shreds, around Altoona. Bobby had called you asking for backup for the Winchesters telling you to be careful since they just had a case including a what he called “trickster” and the murders looked like the work of such. Entering the town, you first searched for a motel to check in, that’s also where you met the handsome man. Of course he didn’t just show up in your car like he uses to do nowadays. You met on the counter, standing there you booking your room someone touched your shoulder. Your hunter instincts kicking in you cocked your gun and spun around, holding it into the face of the stranger. Only to be confronted with a handsome grin, with a lollipop between the lips. “Hey! Slow down jellybean!”, he told you with trembling voice, popping the sugary treat from his lips. You couldn’t help yourself but adore his appearance: the dirty blond messy hair, the golden eyes filled with a mischievous sparkle, the wide unscared grin, the… You shook your head to rip from the aw. Taking a deep breath you turn back to the man behind the counter and placed the gun safely in the holster on your hip. He looks at you with shock wide eyes, and stutters as he hands you the keys: “twen…twenty-nine…” With that he nearly runs back into the office throwing the door shut. “So handsome. You think it’s a good idea to touch someone you don’t know that has their weapon openly on their body? I mean it is a good idea if you want to be shot.” You wink at him and take the key from the counter. He places the lollipop in his mouth again grinning widely at you before responding: “Just because I don’t want to be shot, doesn’t mean I’m a man who can resist a beautiful human being.” You can feel your cheeks heat up as you look on the floor. “May I invite you for a coffee, jellybean?”
Now you were sitting on the plushy dark blue sofa, cuddling into the soft cushions, a blanket over your lap and a cup of your favorite tea in your hands. Watching out the window taking in the snow covered branches as well as the birds hopping around. It was one of the quiet moments you had, as the partner of an archangel. One of those moments where you didn’t have to run for your life, because some angel or demon wanted you to have control over him. “What’s going on in the beautiful head of yours, jellybean?” Gabriel whispers as he stands behind you, burying his nose in your Y/H/C and taking in the scent of fresh mown grass that always seemed to surround you. His fingers start running over your flannel covered shoulders up to your neck playing with the short hair there. A smile creeps up your face as you fell the soft tingle on your skin. “Nothing important. Only about the first time we met…did you ever tell me why you started calling me “jellybean” back then?” you turn your head a bit and rest your cheek against his warm chest, the soft chuckle forming in his chest, vibrating against your skin. “You’re tiny, sweet and I like them!” he explained, fingers still running through your hair. You snicker and look up at him. “So you named me after a tiny, colorful sweet because of this fact?” “To my defense! You had green hair when we met! Not my fault when you decide to try this colored hair wax!” He moves around you and sitting down, placing your feet on his lap. “But you remember that I only was in Altoona to kill you, right?” you wiggle into a more comfortable position and stretch your toes while taking a sip from your tea. He laughs and the glitter in his eyes intensifies just a bit. “Oh, I knew that the moment you entered the reception. I mean the Winchesters where there already. And you know me, there was no way I wouldn’t have noticed them!” He winks and places his hands on your feet, stroking over your fluffy socks. “Maybe I should give them a visit, for old times’ sake…just a bit to fed them up. Maybe I kill Sam this time…?” You sigh deeply, remembering what the brothers had told you about the archangel and what he did to them. “You know? Sometimes I think was easier when the only worry I had was not to get bitten by something…” you place your cup on the small table standing in front of the sofa and cross your arms. Actor like the trickster was he threw back his arms, almost immediately starting to flail his arms in order to find back his balance. His eyes are wide in shock and he places his hands right over his heart. “You’re hurting me, jellybean! I keep your life interesting and you know you love it!” You decide to play along, even though a big grin crept up your face. “And you know, just as good as me, that I had that as a hunter: running from ghouls, vampires, shapeshifters, … You name it and I’ve been running from it more than once.” Nudging his side with your foot you snicker and smile brightly at him. “So I guess I saved you from a boring existence!” he laughs back at you and starts tickling your feet. Your breath gets caught in your throat, tears forming in your eyes as you try to press out your answer. “You…you know…oh god please stop! You know: occasionally I miss boring!” with that you burst out in laugher. The gold of his eyes turning dark he places your feet on the floor and starts crawling over you, his breath stroking your face softly, one leg placed on each side of your hip. His hands are grabbing the lean tightly caging you under his body. “Oh jellybean…you shouldn’t have said that…” You swallow hardly and move your fingers over his broad chest, placing them on his shoulders. Your eyes are wide, taking in all of the glorious man hovering above you. “Shouldn’t I?”, you whisper and only get a small gruff as answer as he moves his nose over your jawline and cheek up to your temple, where he places a lovely kiss before burying his face in your hair again, his lips barely touching your ear. Being so close to him covers you in his calming scent of sea salt and sage, lowering your heart rate. His lips brushing over the sensitive skin of your ear he gives you a real response this time: “Did I ever tell you, that I love you, jellybean?” Entangling your hands in his neck you pull him to face you, placing a gentle kiss on his slightly rough and warm lips. Gabriel leans in a bit closer lacing his fingers into your Y/H/C hair and softly brushing through it. “Not often enough handsome. Not often enough…” you whisper back and pull him just a bit closer, until you feel his relaxing weight on your body. He nuzzles his face in the crock of your neck and you hum in approval. Yeah, maybe you missed hunting in a strange and very uncommon way. But this was just way better….

Guys, I can't decide - should I post my Gabriel x Reader oneshot today and have another Supernatural post ready by tomorrow, or should I make you wait for Gabe and start working on other things?
I already have a GoT ready for Sunday, and plenty of ideas floating around for Supernatural.
Also, taking Pokemon off of the scheduled list. Quite honestly not feeling Pokemon x Reader at the moment, and don't wish to push out garbage-y shots just so I have something to post.

Golden Wings ~ part 1
Characters: Gabriel, Asmodeus, Ketch, Dean, Sam, Reader
Pairings: GabrielxReader
Word Count: 1,003
Warnings: Angst, Character Violence, anxiety
You have been stuck in the cage for the longest of time till one day you were not alone. That day as always you where huddling into the corner of you cell shaking in terror for the screaming that was going on form the other side of the room. Then the cell opened and a body had been thrown against you. You shrieked in pain and kept your head low as the person jolted off of you startled by the noise. You peeked your head out to see who was there, but all you could see were gold wings filling the cell room. You coward back into the corner petrified of what you had seen. You shook back and forth mumbling the word ‘wings’ over and over. All of the sudden there was a hand on your back you jumped looking up seeing the golden wings again behind the mans back. He gave you a questionable look, “can you see my wings?”
You nodded vigorously staring into his whisky eyes. He shifted sitting himself down, “what's your name sugar?”
You stared at him not wanting to talk. His head tilted questionably, “ok that's fine um...I guess i'll tell you who i am then the names Gabriel.”
You eyes shot up and you rushed over to the other side of the cell. You crouched down yelling, “Angle!”
Gabe turned to you, “hey I won't hurt you i just need some information because you aren't supposed to be able to see my wings.”
You turned to see him holding up his hands his wings folding back behind him. He inched closer very slowly, “I am assuming you have been in here a long time and that's why you won't talk, but I won't hurt you i promise it's just the thing with humans being able to my wings is not possible unless…”
You tilted your head trying to understand what he was going to say. He shook his head watching the ground, “I don't understand how this is even possible.”
He rubbed his face. He looked at your skeleton like figure with matted hair and dried blood all over, “do you know how long you have been here?”
You looked up at him not saying anything. He sighed and looked out the barred window, “ok well it's getting dark out so I think you should get some sleep.”
He walked over to the other side of the cell and layed down. The next morning Gabe was sitting there watching you sleep until asmodeus opened the gate and grabbed you by the hair. Gabriel shot up going after you, but asmodeus threw his back with his grace. Your screams echoed off the walls. Gabriel grabbed the bars until his knuckles turned white. After about 15 minutes of screams asmodeus threw you back into the cell and grabbed gabriels shirt pulling him out. Gabriel fought against his grip until he felt a pinch in his neck and the feeling of his grace being drained. After what felt like forever you saw Gabe being thrown back by you he got up and wrapped his wings around himself hiding his face. You sat there for awhile until you crawled up behind him slowly touching his wings. He flinched and you pulled back your arm watching his wings slowly fall. You scooted in front of him reaching out again now to touch his hair. He lifted his face up enough for you to see the stitches on his mouth. He could see your eyes widened, “Gabe?”
You squeeked. He looked up surprised by your voice. You looked into his whiskey eyes as if to say your sorry. He shook his head and extended his arms for you. You accepted the gesture the sweet smell of chocolate hitting your nose once you rested you head on his chest.
That was pretty much the last night that you guys were that close. Asmodeus eventually got his way and pulled you two apart the thing that scared you now was that he was trying to get you two to go at eachothers throats. Then one night you heard one voice you haven't heard in years, “am I interrupting something?” you crawled up to the entry of the cell and saw ketch looking right at you, “Ketch?”
You whispered. He quickly turned his gaze from you and back to where you assumed Gabriel was. You sat there listening to conversation until you switched back to reality when gabe was thrown back by you. As always you gave Gabe a sad look and leaned your head back against the wall. once you started hearing fighting you immediately retreated back into a dark corner waiting till it stopped. When it did you looked over to Gabe which was looking out the entry, “Gabe?”
Then you heard the other voice, “what are you looking at?!”
You slowly came out of the corner moving over to Gabriel. You saw a saddened expression on Ketchs face, “Y/N Dean said you were dead.”
You hit the cage causing Gabriel to flinch, “Out!”
You yelled. Ketch put a finger over his mouth as he crawled over to you, “Y/N be quiet i'll get you two out.”
You stood up gently pulling Gabe up. He fought against you for awhile, but assumed it wouldn't get him anywhere. He eventually relaxed against you wrapping his wings around you. Ketch pulled open the cell and rushed you two out of there, killing a couple of demons on our way.
When you got to the bunker Ketch told you guys to sit in the corner informing you him and the winchesters were not on good terms. You nodded not noticing that gabes wings where still around you. All of the sudden you heard the bunker door shut and the boys pull out there guns you heard talking, but you where focusing on Gabe. Then Ketch grabbed your arm and pulled you up. You stumbled to your feet seeing the Winchesters, “Y/N!”

Triple-A: Coming Back
Part 1 of Triple-A
Summary: When you and Sam started dating, you never though that the shared history of both dating the same man at different times would become something you would have to actively deal with. After all, Gabriel died before either of you ever met. But 2018 seems to be a year full of surprises...
Word Count: 1951
A/N: So, I’ve never really been a Gabriel girl. Never really saw it. But the Sabriel feelings were so strong in 13x20 that I couldn’t help myself... Also, I have more written (at least enough for another part) so let me know if you guys want it! The next part actually has Gabe in it...
“What’s going on, Sam?” Even as you asked, you climbed into your truck and got settled in for the long ride back to the bunker. “I haven’t even finished the hunt yet.”
“I-I-I… it’s hard to explain, Y/N. Just… come home, ‘kay? There’s… there’s something you need to see.”
“Sam, babe, you’re kinda freaking me out.”
He chuckled humorlessly on the other end of the call. “Yeah, well, you’re not the only one. It’s just… there’s something kinda big going on.”
“Big how?”
There was silence, and you took the opportunity to start up the truck, the loud, familiar rumble burning through your bones, calming you even as your boyfriend’s hesitance spiked your anxiety.
“Look, Y/N, I just… the kind of big that makes me want to make sure that you know how much I love you. And that no matter what happens when you get back, I’m always going to love you. No matter what.”
“Sam…”
“Y/N. You know that, right?”
“Dude. I know. I love you too. So fucking much. What the hell is going on?”
“I don’t… you just have to see it. Now I gotta—”
“Samuel Winchester you are not hanging up on your girlfriend like that. I don’t care what we talk about, but you’ve got me all worried and I need to hear your voice until I lose service.”
Your lives were dramatic, but Sam wasn’t. Not usually. Your heart was racing faster than your truck and all you could do was run through worst case scenarios in your head. It was going to be a long, eight-hour drive unless you could get your mind off of whatever Sam deemed important enough to pull you off a hunt.
“Besides,” you said when Sam stayed silent, obviously not knowing what to talk about. Whatever was going on had him all up in his headspace, taking over every part of his thoughts. “I haven’t talked to you in a few days. How’re things going?”
“Uh… yeah. That’s not really something I can talk about without giving everything away.”
“Then tell me.”
“You’d crash the car.”
“I’ll pull over.”
“I’d rather tell you in person.”
“Fuck, Sam. Is it really that bad?”
“Potentially.”
“Fine,” you snapped, immediately feeling bad. “Sorry. I just… I took this hunt for a few days off, you know? Apparently I have bad timing.”
“Wouldn’t have you any other way, babe,” Sam’s voice warmed. “When this is all over, we’ll be able to take a real few days off. No hunts, no demons or angels, no Dean… Just the two of us.”
He delivered the lines smoothly, but there was a hitch in that last one. The part about just the two of you. There was something going on that made him unsure about your relationship. In the two years you’d been together, he’d never been uncertain.
Nevertheless, you ignored the implications and continued with the conversation. “Somewhere sunny and warm.”
“Mountains for me and a beach for you.”
“Mmm. Can’t wait.”
After an hour, your call started to cut out as you ventured further into the Wyoming wilderness and lost service. As soon as you ended the call, promising to drive safe, all of the anxiety Sam managed to cull came back with twice the force.
What the hell was going on?

“Honey, I’m home!” You sang as you walked into the bunker, hoping to start off whatever conversation awaited with a positive tone.
“Shit,” Sam’s mumble echoed through the bunker, making you raise your eyebrow. “In the library!”
“Hey,” you greeted, nodding to Cas and heading towards Sam. “What’s going o—”
A bright flash blinded you for a second and suddenly Dean was there too, a glowing rift behind him. Apparently you’d missed a lot in the few days you’d been gone, considering opening the rift hadn’t been an option before. Your conversation with Sam was, obviously, going to have to wait.
He turned to Dean. “Dean, Dean! Hey! Hey, you’re hurt.”
Dean waved him off. “No, no. I’m fine. I’m fine.”
A sharp noise spat through the room and the glowing rip in space closed. All you could do was stand there and stare as the scene played out, so fucking out of the loop that nothing was making sense.
“Hey, the—the—the rift. It’s…” Sam looked from the rift to Dean. “Where’s Mom? Where’s Jack?”
“Long story,” Dean sighed. “So Mom and the kid, they're not with Michael anymore. Ketch and Charlie are staying back to try to find them. There's a Charlie over there. She kicks ass.”
Ketch? Ketch went with Dean to the apocalypse world? What the hell? And how did they get the rift open? You had all of the ingredients except for an arch-angel. Where would they have gotten that? If they managed to get Lucifer, that was probably something they would have let you in on before now.
“Uh, Charlie Bradbury?” Sam asked, and you caught the hope in his voice. Her death hit the boys hard. Hell, it hit you hard and you didn’t have the history with her that they did.
“Yeah,” Dean confirmed before finally looking around the bunker. As he did, you let your eyes wander too, taking in the mess. A fight. Something happened… Dean headed further into the room, briefly meeting your eyes. But, with the duffle bag on your shoulder, he knew you hadn’t been a part of this and addressed his question to the boys. “What’s this? What—what… what’d I miss?”
Yeah. You’d like to know that too.
Cas took the lead with that question. “There was a demon incursion, led by Asmodeus.”
Asmodeus? Why would he want to get in here? How would he even get in here?
Dean, apparently, was on the same page as you. “Sorry, Asmodeus got in here?”
“Yeah, and—and—” Sam cleared his throat and glanced your way, almost apologetically. “And Gabriel killed him.”
You didn’t hear him right. There was no way. “What?”
“Gabriel?” Dean’s voice overpowered your tiny question. “That’s great. So, he’s back.” He didn’t seem surprised in the least. He sounded… hopeful. “Where is he?”
“He just left,” Cas said reluctantly, but your eyes were stuck on Sam’s and all of the voices started to fade away.
Gabriel? The arch-angel? Your ex-boyfriend? Your boyfriend’s ex-boyfriend? Or fuck buddy, or fling, or whatever they called themselves when they were together?
That Gabriel?
There were other Gabriels in the world, though. It wasn’t an uncommon name. There was no way they could be talking about…
Eyes still locked on Sam’s, you dropped your duffle and fell into a chair. All of your strength had been zapped out of you as soon as your brain processed the fact that the man you used to love, the man you once thought dead, he was alive and well and had been in this very room not even an hour before.
Sam slowly moved over and took the seat next to yours, reaching out to grip your hand.
From the phone call and the way Sam was watching your reaction closely, you had your answer.
“Sam? Sammy!” Dean’s sharp voice cut through the bubble that surrounded the two of you, making Sam look up at him. But you still couldn’t look away from Sam’s face. The face that you loved. The man who stayed by you every step of the way. Sam wouldn’t ever fake his death and not let you know. He would take you with him, dammit.
“What?”
“We still have his grace, though, right?”
Sam didn’t want to answer Dean’s question. It wasn’t going to be an answer that Dean would like. “Uh, we—we used his grace to—to heal him. So, it’s—it’s gone. It’s all gone.
“So, if it’s gone, then that means that we can’t open that door again,” Dean said carefully. His voice raised to a yell, finally drawing your eyes from Sam’s face. “If we can’t open that door, then I should’ve never come back!”
You’d missed so much the last few days… so much. It was like you were in shock, watching a movie. You counted the seconds of silence before Dean exploded, throwing things off the table with a resounding “Son of a bitch! Every time!”
His anger didn’t register with you, but Sam and Cas sure looked shocked.
Gabriel was… back?
*****
“You should’ve told me sooner, Sam.”
He plopped down on the bed, dropping his head into his hands. “I know. I know, baby. I just…”
“You just what Sam? Tell me.” You sat next to him and carefully pried his hands from his face until he had no choice but to look straight into your eyes. “Why didn’t you tell me? We both… we both loved him in our own ways. We both mourned his death. I thought we both understood where we stand on the Gabriel issue. Having the same ex.”
“It’s not… it’s not about that.”
“Then what is it about?”
With a sigh, he eased his hand from your hold and ran a hand through his hair. After a few seconds of silence, you couldn’t take it anymore and leaned forward to press your lips to his cheek. It had been a long few days without him and coming home to this news? You both seemed to need some reassurance. “Babe, you can tell me anything, you know that, right? I love you, and I’m here for you.”
“I know, I know.” His hand fell on top of your head, holding you against him with your forehead pressed against his cheek for a long moment. That contact seemed to help him gear up his energy and he let go of you to scoot back until he was sitting against the headboard with his arms held open for you. With that kind of invitation, you were powerless to deny him and you climbed into his lap, settling in the safety of his hold.
Reassurance. Gabriel’s return had shaken the both of you. Sam had been living with this knowledge for days. Even the few hours drive you had, made you come up with dozens of worst-case scenarios. Sam had days.
You pulled back just enough to look up into his face. “Sam. I’m not leaving. Not ever. I love you.”
“You love him too.” He wasn’t jealous. Just stating a fact. A fact that rang true for the both of you.
“I did. Maybe I still do. But he left me. He left us. He let us mourn him. He made that decision for me, for us. I didn’t have any say in it. But right now?” You pressed a soft kiss to Sam’s lips. “I choose you, Sam. I will always choose you. And I know that you’ll always choose me. That’s… that’s not nothing. That’s pretty… pretty important.”
His lips quirked up in the first real smile you’d seen on him since you got home. “Say that again.”
“I choose you, Sam.”
“And that other thing?”
That other… it clicked and you returned his smile. “I love you, Samuel Winchester. I love you and I choose you and I like you and nothing is ever going to change that.”
“I love you too, Y/N.”
“And that other thing?” You prompted, a twinkle in your eye accompanying your words.
He just grinned and kissed you. When he pulled back, his voice was barely a whisper. “I love you and I like you and I choose you and I will choose you every damn day of my life because you are the most perfect part of my life.”
“God, how did I get so lucky to have you in my life?”
