Let's be serious people for a moment: today I finally received this. I'm not an expert so my opinion is what it is but this version is fantastic 🤩 I listened to it with pretty good earbuds, from a laptop so a non-high-end system, in the dark and I was speechless: every voice, every instrument comes out clearly but nothing overpowers anything, it's all harmonious and harmonized and it goes from ear to ear, you really feel it rolling around in your head. In short an experience ✈️✈️✈️ I wonder if I should also buy up to hear it on the hi-fi and what effect it would have... 🤔

The French film composer Gabriel Yared (of Lebanese descent) his written a fine orchestral score for this movie with shipbuilder Kevin Costner, Robin Wright and the grumpy father Paul Newman.

Some people wonder why Hollywood needs a Frenchman to score such movies but that’s actually a very easy question to answer: Yared’s talent is such that he’s an OK choice for “The English Patient” (he won an Oscar for that soundtrack), “Cold Mountain” with Nicole Kidman and “The Talented Mr. Ripley”.
