This is not a comic, just pictures of three villains in their youth age… and I interpreted "youth" as "childhood"

It's based on the Descendants universe, with a bit of myown lore that I just wrote, basically because I hate the concept of Merlin Academy.

MALEFICENT

A girl fickle like a fairy, wild like a dragon. She fights all the time with her father, because he wants to keep her inside the mountain (for him, she's her treasure) and she wants to do her own will (because going against all is part of her personality). Absent mother, because fairies don't care about raising her children. When Maleficent escapes from the nest to go to the nearby kingdom, she discovers that humans are not to be trusted.

JAFAR

Jafar and his twin sister, Nasira. Two street rats. Orphaned from childhood. Alone against the world. They have a codependent relationship, where she's the one who dominates. Nasira is a sorceress from birth. Jafar doesn't trust magic because he magic has caused them more problems than solutions. It was Nasira's power that caused her parents to die in an accident. The twins don't know. But they suspect.

CRUELLA

Cruella ("Estella" at birth) and her older siblings. The youngest. The only girl in a large family of hunters and doctors. A rich and powerful family, without scruples. She grew up like a spoiled brat, with the sole purpose of perpetuating the family line. Her life planned and mapped out from the moment she was born. She was given everything she wanted, except love, affection and understanding.

hey, I noticed you posted about Diego DeVil in your Twitter series, and I've seen posts around mentioning him, so ig he's a canon character? in the books or something?

but how does that work when Cruella has no living family, or at least no family with the surname DeVil? Because that was the whole reason she didn't change her surname when she got married and instead made her husband change his. With the husband point, also. I've seen some people theorising for who Carlos' dad is, but wouldn't it be Mr DeVil?

Or am I just misremembering which things from the original book didn't or did get in to the film?

I'm guessing the pepper thing also didn't get into the film because I could see that as a very easy gag Descendants could have used for Carlos, as either yet another "damn this kid has it shit" if he hates it, an auradon-kids-think-stuff-the-vks-do-is-weird thing, or a Cruella-wants-off-the-isle-so-she-can-put-pepper-on-her-desserts because lack of stuff on the Isle thing

yeah he's a canon character! he's mentioned in the books, and there isn't a lot that's said about him, except that he's Cruella's nephew and has a mohawk. the rest is just my own expansion on canon lol bc i think it could be a cool dynamic and also bc it shows that not all kids of the Isle have some villainous or heroic amibition, like my Diego is just a musician and cares about Carlos

canonically, Cruella does have family, her brother, Cecil B. de Vil, who appears in 101 Dalmatians: the series, so Diego is probably his son. there's also possibly another sibling, because she has (also in the series) a niece, Ivy, but Cecil is not her father. there's also Cruella's cousin, the scientist. the whole de Vil clan overall are criminals and villains

idk how to say this except for this: u don't need to get married to have children lol. we don't see Carlos' father ever, so it's clear he's not involved. and if there's no father, the child usually takes mother's last name. like the only thing we can tell for sure is that he's white, because Carlos himself is mixed and Cruella is Black

Who do you think are the best parents on the Isle-the parents who both A. care about their children, and B. actively care for them?

This is a super late answer! I want to post more but have been overthinking it so this has been sitting in my notes for quite some time!

We don’t know for certain about some villains depending on a few personality traits. I’ll go through my villain list (it’s quite lengthy) and analyse it. But that’s for later.

Below is from the top of my head. Without further ado:

Anastasia Tremaine- she definitely cares about her kids and her niblings (aka nephews and nieces). Yes, her redemption in Cinderella II is canon in mine. Like my account name says. I love the extended media (and try and have em fit. With tweaks and changes sometimes!)

Facilier seems to be a good dad from what we saw in the 3rd descendants movie! May differ in the school of secret books which I haven’t read yet.

Mozenrath. His being on this would surprise people (namely Al, Jaz and the gang. Some of the other isle people as well) He had an awful, evil tyrant (who even Jafar steered clear of, according to Iago) adopted father named Destane so he knows what it’s like to be mistreated.  Yes, Mo’s a villain kid too like Ana! He’d try to avoid it with his kid(s) and probably subconsciously feels bad for the  isle kids. He’d be a ‘my child can do no wrong’  and a ride-or-die parent.  He was quite negligent about his own health but has the knowledge to do better for his own kid(s).

He’s from the Aladdin tv show and is sassy, witty and a booksmart sorcerer villain who lacks common sense in his elaborate plans. Oh and he has a flying eel familiar, Xerxes (who is the best, loyal and deserves everything) The show itself is so cool, underrated and thorough! (Fun fact: the Aladdin franchise has a lot of lore!) In mine, he accidentally adopts a baby off the isle’s streets. There’s more to his tale of course, but more later. And I do plan on writing a book in the descendants verse bout it.

Sadira. (she’s also from the Aladdin tv show!) She grew up on the street of Agrabah and fell for the first kindness anyone showed her. Poor gal knows what it’s like to be wronged (the guards are so mean to the ‘street rats’ aka poor people) and she wanted love. She’d be a great mum and very hands-on! She knows what it takes to survive and can read so she may have educated herself on the nuances on taking care of others!

The Wicked Prince (Evil Queen’s brother, from the Snow White comics), Nasira (Jafar’s twin sister from an Aladdin game), and Lady Waltham (Clayton’s sister. From the Tarzan tv show) had a family-oriented streak in wanting to avenge their fallen sibling.

But it depends on what it stems from as a dead sibling is quite drastic. Would it translate into them being good parents? Who’s to say? I think Lady Waltham might be. Morgana (Ursula’s sister who appeared in ‘The little Mermaid II: Return to the Sea’)

Cecil De Vil (from 101 Dalmatians: The Series) is the most responsible De Vil adult  (though that’s not saying much sometimes). He becomes a responsible caretaker for the De Vil clan kids because Cruella and PH wouldn’t and Ivy’s parents and Hunter’s parents aren’t in the picture.

The redeemed villains (they’re wrongfully on the isle in mine. poor them but angsttttt) are generally great parents (or at least they try. Le Fou may be average but it depends! I don’t think he’s over being Gaston’s lackey and so may be less active with his kid)

Question do animated series villains and henchmen come visit the mansion?

I’m asking as I’m curious how the villains and henchmen would react to meeting some of those characters, like Neurosis from the Hercules series or Jafar’s twin sister Nasira from the Aladdin series.

Speaking of sisters: how did the villains react to meeting Morgana, Ursula’s little sister?



-I have stated before that I know very little about most of the old and modern villains from animated series, so the list is limited.The only ones that I’m interested in including at the moment are: Mozenrath, Bill Cipher, Giffany, Hecate and Lady Waltham. Will they ever move in and become permanent residents of the mansion? Probably not. Will they ever interact and have appearances? Absolutely, 100%. 

I had never heard of Neurosis and I can’t find the episode so I’ll skip that, sorry.

But right now I’ll talk only about siblings:

Nasira:

-Nasira’s main reason to go to the mansion is to affectionately annoy her brother and also to hang out with the rest of the villain ladies.

-Nasira and Jafar have always had a very competitive relationship, but deep down they care for each other on their own weird way.

- Iago thinks Nas is basically a Jafar II but just slightly nicer, which makes it easier for the bird to low his guard around her. Nasira finds the snarky attitude of the bird to be quite the espectacle and always ends up bursting into laughing when he makes a comment to Jafar.

-Hades had a crush on Nasira waaaaay back in the day, but she’s a lesbian so it didn’t go anywhere. He still thinks she’s neat and has a friendly relationship with her.

-Gaston tried to flirt with her in multiple ocassions, but got his ass beaten by Nas and then by Jafar so he would shut up. He was sent to horny jail by the wrath of the eyeliner twins.

-She’s very good friends with Maleficent and Grimhilde actually. They like to hang out from time to time and talk about magical artifacts, legends, etc. Sometimes Morgana and Jafar will join them because they are all nerds. 

-Nasira has a neutral relationship with Ursula at best. She can hold a friendly conversation with Ursula and doesn’t get involved when the sisters are having an argument, but if Ursula ever dares to talk shit behind Morgana’s back then Nas will get defensive.

Morgana:

-She would never show up to the mansion willingly in the first place, so seeing her there would either mean that: 1) Something bad happened to Ursula and Morgana wants to see with her very eyes. Or 2)Mickey forced her to go visit her sister so they could try to “patch things up” little by little.

-Ursula and Morgana try to stay away from each other more often than not, but sometimes the need to be a bitch is too strong and they’d end up making snarky comments back and forth and probably fighting unless someone stops them.

-Flotsam and Jetsam take any chance they get to play a trick on her which makes Morgana’s blood boil at times. 

-Suprisingly enough, she gets along with Cruella! Ella was very interested on Morgana’s sketches when she catched a glimpse of them one day, and they eventually ended up working together on Cruella’s little fashion house. They are both excentric women with a passion for art and a dream they can never seem to be able to reach, it was only matter of time.

-Consequently Morgana became friends with Medusa and also has a somewhat friendly relationship with Yzma.

-Jafar and Morgana don’t talk unless necessary and their interactions usually contain a little bit of snark. Jafar thinks Nasira could do better but has stopped saying it out loud after getting a particularly bad glare from Nas.

Cecil B. de Vil

-Cecil has never been seen around the mansion, not even once. He does live in Disney Ville but he stays away from Cruella as much as possible because they cannot stand eachother

-To Cruella, he is just her annoying shadow, her mediocre other-half (since I headcanonize them as twins). And Cecil thinks Cruella is just an air-headed bitch favored by their mother.

“Keep growing! One day your head might actually fit your ego!”

(Also mentioning my headcanon that Cecil is shorter than Cruella)

Cruella also dislikes the fact that Cecil is dating Lars, ho boy-

-Surprisingly, Medusa gets along with Cecil. He is her favorite cousin after Ella since he’s more chill compared to the rest of the family. Medusa is the only person Cecil can hold a civilized conversation.

Mufasa

Lady Waltham (AKA Agatha)

- Clayton invites her to his hunting trips very often so she’s seen the one compared to the rest of the villains's siblings.

-The siblings have by far the best relationship among the villain siblings, since they only had each other growing up. Agatha looks up to Clayton and Clayton always protected his little sister above all.

-Cruella absolutely adores having another hunter around, specially if it’s as pretty as Agatha~ She has a thing for both siblings, okay? Waltham also finds Cruella charming on her own way and enjoys going to hunt with her, as a “girls night out” kind of deal

-She’s also very good friends with Medusa  as a result, but things get a bit awkard between them if Ella is not around.

-She has a little crush on Facilier but lacks the courage to even talk about it. The only one that knows is Clayton and he teases her for it.

-One time she beat Gaston on an arm wrestling competition and he threw a tantrum. Ever since then Gaston LOATHES her.

Diego De’vil - Son of Cecil B. De Vil and older cousin of Carlos De’vil

Diego was a strapping young man, the older cousin of Carlos and the lead singer and guitarist of the rotten apples. when he was younger he would sneer at those who would either compare his looks to his much smaller at the time cousin or accidently call him Carlos. now a’days he took a bit more pride in being Carlos cousin. his hair was cut into a short brushed back Mohawk that transitioned from black at the roots to white at the edges, similar to Carlos’ own hair. he wore red and black most of the time, decorated with spikes and pins with hard combat boots and patched up jeans. his fingers were calloused from years of guitar picking and freckles decorated his face and shoulders.

Diego De’vil, the forgotten cousin of Carlos. he wont be forgotten any longer though.

So, I discovered Jay and Carlos have cousins. Jay: Jade. Mok is Nasira, Jafar's twin and from Disney's Aladdin in Nasira's Revenge (2000). Carlos: His cousin is Diego De Vil, his father is likely Cecil B. De Vil. Part of the 101 Dalmatians series (1997). Jade's mother's a sorceress/necromancer, so she's likely a witch as well. Diego's dad directs tv commercials. Diego's a punk musician for Bad Apples, and former member of the Anti-HeroClub. I dare you to make a moodboard for each of them!

Challenge accepted.

My head went a little too much thinking about how to do this, but it was fun to do, after all, I always love little known characters :)
