Despite the dose of caffeine, Eddie must have fallen asleep, because Wayne is shaking his shoulder gently, calling his name.

“Five more minutes…” He murmurs, before remembering where he is and that he is still waiting to have news about Steve.

“Eddie you have to wake up, they are taking Steve to his room.” Wayne insists and Eddie immediately opens his eyes, almost falling from the chair where he was resting.

“Where is he? How… what…” He has a million questions but the words are too difficult to articulate and he can’t put one after the other to make a single sentence that makes sense.

Wayne shrugs “I don’t know. The doctor will speak with us soon and the nurse just informed us that we can go see him if we want. But I want to warn you, he is still under the effect of the anesthesia.”

Eddie nods, stands up quickly, and follows the nurse to Steve’s room. 

His boyfriend is still pale and asleep, but the heart monitor at his side shows a stable rhythm and even if his leg has some long screws in it, it’s still attached to Steve’s body which seems like very good news.

“When will he wake up?” Eddie asks the nurse who shakes her head.

“We don’t know how long it will take, he was pretty weak when he got here so it’s probable that even if the anesthesia wears off he will keep sleeping. His body needs to regain his strength.” Eddie looks at her with such desperation that the nurse immediately adds “But it’s a good thing, resting will help him heal faster.” She tells him with an encouraging smile while checking the IV in Steve’s arm.

Robin, at Eddie’s side, puts an arm around his shoulder, murmuring that everything will be alright, that Steve will wake up in no time and that they should start searching for a black marker to draw a mustache on his sleeping face. 

Eddie chuckles between the tears while the nurse takes Steve's vitals and then leaves the four waiting for the doctor who arrives a few minutes later. He informs them that surgery went well and that they expect a complete recovery in a few months “He will have to rest in bed for at least a couple of weeks, but once the wound is properly healed he could start moving around with some crutches. He will have to do some physiotherapy to regain strength in the leg after we will remove the screws, but luckily nothing was permanently damaged.”

At that news Eddie starts to cry again, murmuring “Thank you, thank you…” While hugging Robin and feeling Wayne’s arm on his back.

Hopper tries to insist that Eddie and Wayne should get a room in a hotel to rest a little, but Eddie refuses and sits on the chair next to Steve’s bed, determined to stay with him at least until his boyfriend wakes up.

“We don’t know how long it will take. Try to be reasonable.” Hopper insists but Eddie it’s adamant and Wayne decides to keep an eye on both his boys while Robin and Hopper go to rest a little: it was a very stressful couple of days for everyone and now that it’s over Robin seems ready to fall asleep at any given moment.

“We will be back in the morning.” Hopper assures them while dragging Robin toward the door and the two men nod.

Eddie has been holding Steve’s hand for hours when he feels something move. He stills and turns toward his boyfriend, trying to detect any possible movements.

"Steve? Stevie?" He calls, trying to get a reaction from him, and after a few moments, Steve's thumb flex a little.

Eddie gets closer, studying Steve's face “Sweetheart? Are you awake?” He tries again, “Steve, love, can you hear me?” he murmurs and this time the chocolate brown eyes of his boyfriend look back at him, confused “Hi love.” Eddie tells him,  kissing his hand, but Steve startles and tries to move and Eddie stops him “You are safe, Steve!” He says, trying to calm him down “You are ok! You are in a hospital! You broke your leg pretty badly but the doctor fixed it and you’ll be fine in no time.” He tries to explain to his confused boy “You are safe.” He repeats, brushing away some hair from Steve’s forehead.

“Ed?” Steve calls, staring at him with his blurry eyes.

“I’m here, baby. Help came and the rescuers brought you to the hospital, but don't worry, you are going to be ok in no time, do you hear me? In no time. Wayne and I will drive you home as soon as they discharge you and Robin and Hopper are here too, you’ll see them in the morning. Oh, and Robin told me that you are not allowed to go on vacation for at least a year.” Eddie keeps talking, knowing that his familiar voice helps soothe Steve who falls asleep again in a few minutes.

“Did he wake up?” Wayne asks, getting in the room with two cups of coffee.

“He did!” Eddie replies with a big smile, “He woke up. Just for a few moments, but he woke up.”

“The nurse said that it might take a bit for him to wake up completely…” Wayne reminds him, offering Eddie one of the two cups.

“I don’t care. I’m in no rush.” Eddie whispers on the skin of his boyfriend, then he turns toward Wayne “I want to ask him to marry me.”

The man coughs, “Eddie… I think you should think about it. I don’t want you to make an important decision like this after what happened.”

“That’s exactly why I have to ask him to marry me!" Eddie insists "I could have lost him, Wayne.” He tries to explain while his mind is still full of fear “And the only thing I could think of it’s that I cannot live without him. That’s why people get married, right? Because they love each other very much, and I love him so much I can’t even explain it in words.”

Wayne hugs him “I know you do, kid, and if you want to marry him just ask him, but maybe wait for him to be a little bit more conscious, uh?”

Eddie nods, still holding Steve’s hand and thinking that if there is a silver lining in the horrible experience that they had is that he has realized that he can’t wait to put a ring on that perfect golden skin.

Got to part 14/15 and saw this note “Y’all. When I tell you I started this story with no plot beyond “they’re soul bonded and they’re gonna bone about it”, I am not lying. Some more thoughts from mid-chapter 13 to mid-chapter 16 I think, a bit before the board meeting. Spoilers for ff7r through that point, spoilers for the entire OG:

-how is wedge still alive. I’m happy but baffled. He’s a good boy and I don’t want to be hurt again as I don’t expect him to survive the game. Right now I think that as soon as he wakes up or opens his mouth the watchers will realize he’s there and go kill him. I have also considered a far more hurty option that cannot happen, that he lives up until Elmyra and Marlene get kidnapped and dies trying to protect them, which would make Reeve’s entire plan way more shitty than it already is, and would be very hurtful to me personally. Reeve and Wedge are both good boys who like cats! I don’t want this to happen but I can’t ignore it now that I’ve thought of it! (I first wrote this before going to the Shinra Building annnnnnd now I’m really concerned that my fears are justified.)

-my favorites are still the parts where you control Aerith, especially in Wall Market where she was put in control purely so Cloud could have a moment to himself to react to something, but I severely underestimated just how great controlling Barret outside battles could be, mowing down crates and barriers in a Shinra facility. He was having the time of his life and so was I. It also has me really psyched that every character will have their controllable moments over the course of however many games, each with their own interaction with the environment. Will Vincent do huge floaty jumps and get up to platforms even Cloud can’t reach? Will Yuffie do ninja parkour? Will Cait Sith dismount his moogle and go through tight spaces? I can’t even think of a thing for Red but just imagine controlling him, think of how he moves, it’ll be amazing

-cloud having flashbacks in the lab was perfection. I also cheerfully decided that the cut from inside the lab just after that with Barret picking up Wedge to outside the hole wasn’t just due to technical limitations of not wanting to animate Barret carrying Wedge and backtracking through the whole damn place and coming up with a way out, but was in fact because we were in control of Cloud again and to protect himself from those flashbacks he disassociated hard.

-I find it really interesting to consider what cloud believes his backstory to be right now, and what Tifa thinks it is. Cloud thinks he left home at 14, joined soldier, made first class, went back to nibelheim for a mission with Sephiroth who was his buddy, watched Sephiroth completely melt down and go insane and destroy the town, confronted Sephiroth and then hrmph mmm uhhh he survived and Sephiroth didn’t so obviously he killed Sephiroth, and then maybe he was in a tube briefly in the aftermath but he escaped somehow and he’s been a merc ever since! While Tifa thinks he left home and joined soldier, made first class but never came back to nibelheim, and quit Shinra for reasons he hasn’t told her yet but she probably suspects it was when he learned what happened to Nibelheim, and then became a merc.

-oddly, I liked Leslie more before his tragic backstory was revealed. He’s still pretty cool for a new character, I just liked it better when he was enigmatically vaguely opposed to the pervy horribleness that went on behind the doors, rather than having a reason for it.

after entering the Shinra building:

-playing as tifa was also magical

-I found the Shinra museum hilarious and was half expecting there to be some sort of Sephiroth shrine in there. Reeve is the only one who took it seriously!

-also NEW REEVE SCENE! He’s overworked and he has an assistant. Both of which where obvious but were cool to see!

-speaking of which… okay, for the longest time I thought maybe Reeve was coerced or forced into spying. Then his first appearance in a trailer came along, and I leapt to the conclusion that he thought up with the spying plan all on his own because he’s just trying to prove that avalanche can be dealt with without throwing a city at them and killing thousands of innocents. Now, between the Cait Sith scene and this little bitty new scene, I’m kind of wondering if he just… sends Cait Sith to join avalanche on purpose and completely straight. With little more spying planned than “maybe keep an eye on them”. And perhaps then we bring in Tseng and a little blackmail/coercion—like, the Turks find out what he’s doing and are like “great, you can give us updates on what they’re doing. or we can tell the president that you’re a traitor.” I’m really excited to keep seeing more of him, and cannot wait for his whole arc!

-Hojo is horrifying. Omg so gross, don’t talk to Aerith about harvesting her mother’s body for science! WTF man. How is he immediately worse than old “these animals are on the brink of extinction” OG Hojo? I mean, I haven’t gotten up to that part yet, he will probably keep piling the vileness on. Man, I feel sorry for Sephiroth.

-I am really bad at using the stagger mechanic. That and mastering all the magic Materia is all I have left to do for Chadley.

-it’s interesting that they already have Sephiroth gliding through the building. I assume this is more for a bit of a confrontation with cloud when they see Jenova, as seen in the trailer, than for “Sephiroth is gonna kill President Shinra ASAP”, but who even knows at this point.

-I like how they made Mayor domino more serious while still maintaining his ridiculousness!

-OH and sneaking up the emergency stairs was GOLD. I’m not sure if there were mechanics to it that I missed, but I just ran Cloud up the stairs like normal and he gradually got slower and slower and by the end he was just trudging up the stairs it was amazing.

-and I’m slightly bummed that Barret didn’t say anything about a golden shiny wire of hope, but whatever.

-not sure yet what to make of the huge flash-forward in the video but dang that was a pretty cutscene

Saizo’s Timeline

Saizo’s age in his MS and during the major events that have been revealed to us, so far, including: his love for dango and his swords.

Well, yeah, I get it... you love Saizo and want to know every little thing about him. Sure, okay, he’s dashing, mysterious, daring, and he’s pretty much god-mode with a sword, but you know you’re in for a tough morning when this is the main screen on your cell phone:

Well, f🌸ck! Continue Romance... oh, yeah.. sure, let’s, um, let’s get right on that... *ghosts flies out of mouth* 👻

Spoilers for Main Story as the ‘age markers’ are revealed. It’s not a plot reveal, per se, but some minor plot points pertaining to Saizo’s character development will be shown. If you know nothing about Saizo and want to figure it out on your own, do not continue.

Timeline: 

Main Story - Saizo is about 29 years old. His MC is about 20.

SLBP Saizo has had two birthdays since SLBP launched in English, so that makes him currently 31, which he joked about in his last birthday story release stating that he was officially old now.

Saizo was about 14 when he started working for the Sanada clan. Yukimura was 10. 

The Sakura Tree Story - MC was about 5 years old, when she met a crying boy under a tree and gave him dango. 

By the end of his MS route, Divine End, we learn that event was 15 years prior to the Main Story’s “present”. So, that makes tearful Saizo “boy” about 13 or 14 years old when he met a 4 or 5 year old MC. In another event story, it’s revealed that during their little snack break he also stole, I mean “found”, five-year-old MC’s little flowered hair comb and kept it FOREVER! WTS! He could have found her house and given it back, but nope! I bet she cried when she realized she lost her favorite hair comb, too. *smh*  Outstanding moral fiber... 

Bish... stop!! (my heart is fluttering) 

He freaking bought the restaurant that had the cherry tree outside where he met MC and had a happy memory of someone giving him dango. Obsessed much? *holds my head* Apparently, in Iga Village, no one gave anyone anything. So, that passing act of kindness really made an impression.

Best Friend’s Death - Ten years before the Main Story’s ‘present’, he killed his best friend. So, he was about 18 or 19 when that happened. They were going to go see the sakura blossoms before it happened, so it might have been before his late April birthday that year making him 18 at the time. 

Story event - a demon sakura (yomi-zakura) shows him the “spirit” of his dead best friend, which reveals the season of his death. The “three” of them, his best friend, best friend’s lover, and Saizo, could not meet in the Spring, presumably, because of his best friend’s betrayal of Iga Village and subsequent ordered execution:

And we know, certainly, it was raining when that went down. So, perhaps it was still winter. Ugh. That rain tho... 

Why he did it: The “IT” being the Oda clan had his best friend’s lover as a hostage and forced his best friend to betray Iga village. Even though, his unnamed best friend was forced to do it to save the woman he loved, Saizo was compelled by the elders to slay the one who betrayed them and reaffirm his loyalty to Iga Village. (Historically: This was WAY different btw. But it was Oda Nobunaga who did eventually conquer Iga, after his son’s failed attempts.)

Possible misunderstanding: Event story - Akane’s story - her “brother” / potential “lover” was the best friend Saizo killed. No, completely different ninja clan and killing Akane’s “brother” was an unrelated job Saizo had. 

Reasoning: Saizo killed Akane’s “brother” right in front of her, and she just about lost her sh🌸t swearing to kill Saizo. Whee! He just about let her, too. *smh* However, since Akane is from another clan of ninja, that is, by the time her event story happens, almost extinct, she’s the last female in her clan btw, it’s impossible. She’s not an Iga Village ninja, that’s all we know for sure.

Misunderstanding: Saizo was under the sakura tree crying, when MC found him with her magic dango, because he had just slain his best friend. Oops!

I thought this for a long time, ¯\_(ツ)_/¯  but it’s impossible because Saizo didn’t kill his best friend till five years after that event. I know the Noble end states this:

but the math does not work with his MS route which leads to the Noble & Divine ends. 

If that Noble end clue is the proper math and Saizo ate the dango the first spring after he killed his best friend, MC is only 14 or 15 >_<, Saizo is 23 or 24, Yukimura is 19 or 20, and he met MC ~9 years ago, a few months or one year after he killed his best friend, which was 10 years ago. WTS!! Sorry I just... no?! 

Remember, main story route MC remembers giving him the dango at about age 5, twice we’re told his best friend died 10 years ago, and the Dango diary tells us Yukimura knew him before and after he developed his love for dango, which means he was at least 14 when he had the dango. So, LOL! I just can’t with this, but I misunderstood for a while. 😂

At the end, the Noble end again says it was 15 years since he first had her dango anyway... 

It makes more sense: We know his best friend died 10 years before Main Story “present”, but he ate MC’s dango 15 years before Main Story “present.” The Divine End math & end of Noble End math works better. But, then we don’t know for sure why he’s crying because the memory of his best friend’s death no longer fits the timeline. :\ Maybe he’s just having a tough time, bad hair day, or fed up and frustrated with his life.

He’s definitely had a hard life growing up as a ninja. He’s had to fight for everything. And in the Event story with baby Hime, he reveals that he has no idea how to care for children because no one ever cared for him. Kids are left on their own in Iga Village. Other than cleaning their butts and being fed, the kids, according to Saizo and Kiyohiro, are on their own. Well, that’s pretty awful. It’s a wonder they aren’t all messed up in the head because raising kids without touching or interacting with them during their ‘baby years’ doesn’t work. Luckily, Saizo turned out to be a genius!

Oh well, that whole story was worth it just for this scene:

The Dango: Yukimura relates the tale of Saizo’s love of dango. One day he came back from Kyoto and really loved dango. Well, okay then! It had never been a ‘thing’ for him until he returned to the Sanada from the capital one day. This happened when they were still ‘kids’, but since Yukimura knew him when it happened, it had to be when Saizo was a teen.

Just imagine kid Saizo demanding it as payment for favors... awww!  “That’ll be 10 dango, little lord.” 

It’s highly probable that Saizo’s love of dango started with MC giving him some along with Yakichi’s (MC’s dad) message: “if you have the will to eat, you have the will to live,” and if you can’t find one, then you can do the other even if the only thing that keeps you going is the next bite. Then smol Saizo took a bite of the dango, stopped crying, and smiled. I guess he never told the little lord this story. He kept it, along with MC’s hair comb, to himself. *sighs*

The Sword’s Secret: Saizo had been serving Lord Yukimura for a long time, probably those 5 years before his best friend died, before he ‘changed’, he was kinder or perhaps, at least, smiled and meant it more often. In MS chapter 8 “His Weakness,” Yukimura mentions in passing that Saizo didn’t always used to be that way. Meaning, the rain didn’t affect him like it does now, and, presumably, he was not always so cold and distant.

So, Yukimura isn’t the only one who used to be ‘cute’ 15 years ago. It’s hard to imagine a Saizo who wasn’t so cold, but Yukimura knows him not just for how he is now but how he used to be. It’s why Yukkin can put up with Saizo’s bullsh🌸t with boundless patience. Yukimura also knows why he changed, the sword’s secret, which he doesn’t openly tell anyone.  

I get it, symbolically, he carries his best friend’s sword in his memory. But, I also call story line BS about not using it because almost every action shot we have of Saizo has him poised to go death-blender on someone with both katana.

Like Sean says, I'm not dead and neither is Wishful Thinking! Sorta.. Lemme explain! So first of all, it has probably been about a month since I last posted anything.. Lemme check real quick... Yup! last post came the 14th of November, a day before the release of Sword and Shield. Which was one of the main reasons for my absence as my 128 hours in sword and 14 so far in shield would tell you. Not to mention work takes up my weekends, I work 13~ hours each day friday-sunday. I am also working on moving out, too. So that is the reason there have been no art posts in general the past month, Pokemon and work. Now then, I have no idea if anyone follows Wishful Thinking or not, but if you do, I really apologize. It has been nearly 3 months since the last page I uploaded... So yeah... However fret not! I plan on working on it more! However... not as quickly as I would like. What I plan on doing is finishing chapter 2 (possibly) and then taking a small break to make some smaller comics with the characters of WT and some others that are stand alone and not necessarily cannon with the main story of WT. The main reason for this is because I have had an internal conflict of how I want to tell the story. I have an idea of the end point of the story, but that is obviously a loooong ways away. The problem I have is there are multiple plot points I don't know if I want to use or not. Over the last few weeks, I have thought of random things that could be interesting and I would love to implement, including that Scorbunny character I made last post, but I don't know if I should add them to the story to prevent an overcrowding of plots, which is one of the reasons I want to do those small, stand alone comics. I just want to get the story all written down and possibly reviewed by a close friend and stick with that story line for the main comic. I also want to try and get a few pages ahead of my non existent posting schedule in case I do have to go on another small hiatus. Anyways, sorry for rambling at y'all, I just wanted to let you few know what is going on in case anyone for some reason was wondering Edit: I also this is the second month in a row I am posting something like this... I'll try my best to not make this a monthly tradition   Edit 2: Also! I forgot to mention art will be slow this month for two reasons. KEEPING THE SOUL OF THE SONG INTACT

WAALM Tribune has the pleasure of interviewing ‘Peter Linseman’, owner of Music Mentor Productions (MMP), a CCMA nominated recording studio & Independent Record Label. 

WT: For our readers who get to know you for the first time, please tell us how did it all start, how you entered the world of music and music productions?

PL: I have always been interested in literature and poetry as a youngster and then started playing the drums in my teens. I played for my first band called The Acrylics when I was 14 or 15 and I remember having to sneak into the bars to play the gigs! It was a punk rock band and I just remember playing as fast and hard as I could, just trying to keep up with the super energetic tempos. I started writing songs on my drums but my lyric sheet was on my tom-tom and I keep poking holes in it! So I started on the guitar, in order to have chords to accompany my songs and melodies. Next, it was finding a way to record the songs and a reasonable way was creating my home studio. And then releasing our songs and also learning how to do that ourselves, same with marketing, etc. etc. Music Mentor Productions started when I created the first Songwriting and Music Business Courses offered in Canada at the continuing education program for the Toronto District School Board in the mid ‘90’s. I registered MMP as a production company and music publisher at that time.

WT: You have several artists under your management, how do you balance this on top of producing, co-writing or even performing?

PL: It's a juggling act at the best of times and I have a few mantras that help me. The mantra I say the most lately is "there is always enough time for everything". Aside from creating a two year and five year career plan, the label and artist have an unending stream of tasks and staying on top of social media is a full time job in itself. So my mantras are "what is the next most important thing to do" and "go as far as you can and from there you can see further". My favourite artists/projects are the ones I get to do it all, especially writing and producing, like my new artist Dr Ally K. I'm so proud of Ally, my long time friend, music collaborator and actual GP Doctor! 

WT: What was your biggest challenge as a producer? Could you overcome that challenge? If so, how?

PL: I had an epiphany when I was commissioned to co-write and produce a ten song musical way back! Actually, it was a project that Dr Ally K brought to me – a full-length musical about the world of gene splicing, playing God, letting nature take its course, etc. I'm a ‘hands on’ person and have learned everything by doing it, and with the guidance of some great mentors along the way. 

I remember the moment, when I was a couple of songs into the musical and I stopped with a realization that I'm in over my head. The pop opera type songs were fine but the more classically based musical numbers were brand new to me. I thought about the music deeply and remember thinking to myself - there are only 12 notes on a scale and songs/production have similarities across the board, like counter melodies, harmonies, beats, shots, etc. I have never looked back! I finished Orchids with Ally and this musical was attended by thousands including a thousand health-care professionals in the Canada-wide performances of ‘Orchids’.

WT: What’s the most rewarding aspect of being a producer as well as a manager?

PL: Creating music out of nothing has always had the greatest appeal to me personally. The next most appealing aspect is seeing an artist successful in any realm of the entertainment industry, especially getting them 'signed' or helping them up to the top level of the game. A recent and very rewarding occurrence is when Mosi calls me Maestro! 

WT: How do you see the role of music in the society today?

PL: I'd like to think that my role is to create and produce music that can touch as many people as possible. I've always tried to keep the soul of the song intact and simply enhance it with production. My favourite creations have a positive emotional impact whether it's being moved physically, emotionally or spiritually. 

WT: In your view, what are the characteristics of a responsible artist/musician/songwriter?

PL: A responsible songwriter/musician needs to be sensitive to the music and its life in the music industry, as well as to the artist and their vision. A responsible artist should realize their position as a highly visible role model/idol and also the ages of their demographics. I believe the best artists in the world are great role models especially for the impressionable demographics. 

WT: It is more than five years now that you are collaborating with Mosi Dorbayani and WAALM and during all these years, many notable projects were released. Which ones are among your most favourite, name three?    

They have all been memorable and it's hard to pick three! But if I must choose, it would be the songs where I not only get to work with Mosi, but I also have the pleasure of working with Kate Todd and Carla Sacco. These are amongst my favourite people on the planet!

WT: You’ve just co-produced a new EP album ‘Sealed with A Kiss’, with Carla Sacco, who also voiced the project. What is your anticipation?

PL: Carla and I are anticipating a great reception to these wonderful selections of songs, which are all about love and joy. They are each unique and the production has its own little universe for each of them. But as we've always experienced with Mosi's creations, they all have a great commercial appeal and pop sensibility to touch the most amount of hearts. We will also promote these songs that we are also very proud of, starting on the relaunch of my website as well as our social media and anticipate a quick response bringing awareness to WAALM as well as Carla Sacco. 

WT: Recently, in his social media, Mosi Dorbayani wrote the following about you: 

“ In my view, 'Peter Linseman' is a superstar musician in his own right. He has many slashes (/) after his name but yet humble and friendly. Wearing several hats contributing to Canadian music, he is a dedicated professional, who mentors and promotes young talents. His facilitation to boost artistic career of those who are new to the world of music is exemplary. What I personally admire about Peter is that he does not necessarily produce just for the industry, but for the quality music. Hence, his productions score continuance success.” – How do you see yourself in context of music ? 😊

PL: Mosi is a brilliant man! Wow! What flattering and humbling words from Mosi...it’s a rare feeling in this business but Mosi seems to create this feeling constantly amongst myself and my artists. To answer the question: what he said! Mosi has said it all and as I mentioned earlier, I protect the soul of the creation and at the same time support it with production that has a very wide audience and appeal, which is a lot like what Mosi creates. 

WT:  What music enthusiasts should expect from you in 2019? Tell us about your other forthcoming projects and events.

PL: There are many great projects being released internationally including this EP, ‘Sealed With A Kiss’ with Carla Sacco, which I am very excited about. As I mentioned previously, I am re-launching my new website and also a new Facebook page for my independent label Music Mentor Productions.

We are releasing a six song EP for my new artist Dr Ally K as we speak. I am so proud of the work that Ally and I have done together and have mentioned some of our previous collaborations in this interview. We will be launching an album that has been in the works for a few years called ‘Out Of The Wreckage’ by a brilliant artist name Melanie Joy. We have gone over the songs meticulously in the production stages and Melanie is an English major and uses it to write lyrics that make you stop and think! 

We will be releasing some original music from Carla Sacco this year and it will be the launch of a new chapter in her solo artist career. Carla is super talented on all levels, the greatest vocalist and performer I’ve had the pleasure of working with, an angel on this earth with a heart of gold...I’ve stopped searching Neil Young! Carla is also the chosen voice to represent and incredible songwriter from Oregon, Mina Whitesides and we will release an EP with a collection of songs sung by Carla, initiated by Mina. 

We've already released the single ‘Dance Children Dance’ and we released an inspiring video, with most of it being shot at Carla’s performance at Youth Day in 2018.

A friend on Skype asked me how do I start my writing process. I thought I would do them an handy summary of how writing happens for me.

I - Finding Ideas

1) One do not find ideas. Ideas find you. Preferably while you’re very busy doing chores or homework or preparing for exams or work.

2) So, you’ve been found by an idea. Cry a lot in hopes it will leave so you can work on your priorities.

3) The idea didn’t leave. In fact, the idea seems rather interested in your tears. Renounce and write your idea to take it home.

II - Developing your idea.

1)  If you want to write, chances are that you already have multiples ideas. Please free your new idea among the others in a safe, restricted space.

2) Ideas that doesn’t like each others will try to ignore the other as long as nobody force them to be together. It’s fine. Sometimes, two ideas will get along very well, and you may develop sub-plots or an interesting world building. Most of the time, one idea will end up eating another or multiples one while you aren’t looking. This is fine ; a strong, well detailed idea is usually better than multiple weak ideas. 

(Note : Be wary that your new idea doesn’t disturb the sleepy ideas in hibernation, or you might end up with quite a load of work to ignore them !!)

3) You might decide not to work on an idea immediately. You might then be in need or a temporary idea-sitter. Talk to one of your friends (for fanfictions, preferably a friend of the corresponding fandom). Talk to them about your idea. Make them go ‘holy heck this is a great idea !!’. Your idea will them follow them, leaving you mostly alone.

4) Ideas will often find what to eat by themselves, no need to worry about that. However, be sure to leave a nice bowl of references to complete their diet !

III - Transforming your idea into a story.

1) Choose an idea you want to work with. Stare at it very deeply. Cry because it’s so cute/fluffy/sad/painful.

2) Open your favourite text editor, determined to shape that idea into a beautiful story.

3) You’re stuck on the first sentence. Cry a lot. Go work on another idea.

4) Get stuck on how to start shaping the other idea. Cry again. Look at your blank pages. Motivate yourself to write. End up doing a pause and juggling between tabs on unimportant and distracting stuff that you can quit after 5 minutes WT*

(*Writer’s Time. Equal to 3 real life hours.)

5) Come back to your first idea. Decide of a sentence.

6) It’s too weak. Cry. Erase it.

7) Decide instead to work on another moment of the idea. It might need you a few minutes to find the proper words, but once you started, the rest come pretty easily !!

8) Or not. You’re stuck on a sentence again. Cry a lot.

9) Drink water to rehydrate yourself of all that crying.

10) Decide to come back to your story tomorrow WT (approximatively two weeks*).

(*’What about deadlines ?” Buddy. This is my own way to do. I’m sorry. I don’t know how to work with deadlines.) 11) Look at your story. Get pumped up for writing. Edit what you’ve already made. You ends up rewriting half the text and see your word count diminish. Cry again. 

12) Write and edit, cry, write and cry, edit. Over and over. Don’t forget that your story might still need references even while growing.

13) You’ve finally finished !! And then you remembered you only wrote starting from the middle and you still need the first part. Cry a lot.

14) ...Actually, no, I don’t know how to continue. Luck, maybe. Try that.

IV - Presenting your story to everyone

1) You’ve finished your story ! Time to give it a name. Or multiple names if it’s multi-chaptered. Awn, don’t cry, it’s almost over. A good tip is to chose a theme or object with strong importance to the story.

2) If you’re presenting your story on the Internet, you might need to tag it. Theme and Audiences are always appreciated as well as warnings in case your story is of the bitting type. For fanfics, put the name of the fandoms and the main characters and ships, but beware - if a character only have a few, irrelevant sentences, it’s just better to not tag it.

3) Your idea is so beautiful. Look at it. Cry a little.

4) Nobody is looking at your idea. Cry a lot. You wasted a perfectly good idea. Or maybe the idea wasn’t that great.

5) Wait, are those... Views ? Hits ? People are really reading it ?! Maybe the original idea is, in fact, good ?

6) If you’re writing original fiction, or you’re writing for a rare pair, a background character or a dead fandom, your idea might not get lot of interest. It’s ok. It’s fine. You had fun, didn’t you ?

7) Screw this. Cry because nobody is leaving your reviews or comments.

8) Your story is free now, it will go live its’ life. Unless it’s an on-going multi-chaptered stories, but as I said, buddy, this is my way of doing things and can’t say I’ve done much in multichapters. Anyways, you might see your story sometimes, just in passing as someone try to approach it because it looks fun. Maybe you will see other stories that look like it, probably inspired by it. Unless it really is your idea, an ill, poor clone. Don’t forget to contact your neighbourhood if that’s the case. 

9) It might happens that one of your artist friends come to you with an idea looking surprisingly familiar. They say your story gave birth in their garden. Look fondly at the newborn idea as it licks the tears of his crying owner who don’t know what to do with it. It’s up to you whether you want to help him or not. Don’t forget to offer tissues.

Turn 2 V2: So, last time on RiBKtP, Mia recruited herself. These are her starting stats. That speed is great, so this will be fun. Too bad she's already injured, but I think I got good level ups and I'm not going to restart so she dodges whatever hurt her. In the bottom left I had Oscar kill an archer and level: strength, magic, speed, resistance. Defense would have been great, but it seems not. And I left him out of the range of a javelin soldier, so Boyd could move in with his WT advantage, but I just realized Boyd has a full inventory and that isn't going to work. Darn. Wasting a turn it is. Or I could lure the guy in and let Boyd get hit... He’d take 6 damage. And Rhys is right there... His heal staff only has 16 uses left though, and I don't know when we get a merchant. Scratch that, I think we get Ilyana next chapter so probably then. Though I suppose that's still not knowing. Meh. I'm going to make some kettlecorn while I think this over. Its in the microwave, so I'm running some calculations and dang. Boyd is just too dang strong. At level 12 he has 16 strength, and the hand axe has 7 Mt. That's 23 damage. Enemy had 5 defense and 25HP, but Boyd'll double him for the kill, so I guess he'll just have to take the attack without countering. Wait, nevermind. The guy has a steel lance, not a javelin, so I can't put Boyd in range at all or the enemy'll engage in direct combat and kill himself. Darn. Kettlecorn is done! That took 3 minutes. Just used Heal on Boyd who didn't really need it to get some Exp for Rhys. I hope I get a heal staff. Up top Mia can hit a hand axe soldier for 18dmg, not a kill, but good. He only has a 20% hit chance, so let's go for it. Though... I think I'll have Ike kill the top soldier first, so Soren can weaken the soldier for her. Ike's in the way as is. He got the unnecesary crit and level: strength, resistance. Ike. Ike please. Mages are scary but there are many, many more physical soldiers. Defense. Or skill. The strength is great though! And oh man this guy has a hand axe what was I thinking. Eh, he has a 31% hit chance. So I should be fine. Hopefully. Then again, Soren will hit twice and his time only has 16 uses left, which will bring it down to 14. Gr. I used Mia and accidentally equipped the Slim sword, so thats a wasted use. Soren will only have to hit once now, which is better. Level: HP. Magic, speed, luck, defense. Enemy turn: he went for Ike for whatever reason. Javelin guy that is. He missed. Also a thief just showed up! Time to hurry and kill him so he doesn't steal my treasure.
