this is so dorky but i think writing that really long succession fic last summer/fall fundamentally fixed me

#i've been rereading it (finally felt brave enough!) and oh man! lots of feelings associated w/ this whole experience!#i got so much out of writing this!!#both in terms of helping to process a lot of life stuff AND a lot of fandom feelings stuff #and in terms of: now i weirdly feel like i can write anything (original fic edition; fanfic still scares me) i ever think of ever again #i somehow feel like making it through that fic to the end means now i've got the power #there are a few chapters in this where it's like 'i managed to write this exactly how i imagined it #and it was so hard it was like running a marathon #but eventually I DID IT #and now nothing scares me'#anyway. i love this fic. thanks for improving me so much @ this writing experience!#and thank you to everyone for leaving such incredible comments because i'm still over here rereading them and living for them <3 #dollsome's deep thoughts

#twst #twisted wonderland #yes it did take me until the second to last day of the new chapter event to finish book 6 what of it #in my defense i had no good leona&jamil cards for chapters 66 and 67‚ i'm glad i managed to do it at all. robe malleus carried the team <3 #anyways! i haven't seen this take in a while but i remember it popping up a lot earlier this year when we got diasomnia on the jp server #as a member of the malleus defense squad i can't bear all this slander and now i have proof it's baseless #his overblot is one of the most justified ones??? what do you mean no reason #He's already established to be constantly left out and lonely because of it #And now he gets hit with the triple whammy of 1) realizing his fellow students' mortality after book 6 #2) learning that his father figure is dying and in one week fucking off to fantasy china to live out his retirement without him #3) his best friend the MC telling him they found a way to un-isekai themself #Maybe he could have weathered one of those‚ but all three at the same time?#Poor guy stood no chance‚ those are hits straight into the trauma #Of course he's gonna have a breakdown! It's not his fault breakdowns in twisted wonderland come with a side of destructive berserking #And to be fair from what i've heard in spoilers all he did was put the whole school to sleep he didn't even destroy all that much #like yes putting everyone to sleep so they can live forever and never leave him is not a healthy reaction #but this is Unhealthy Reactions The School it's not like he's such an outlier in that #leave my boy alone 😭#excuse my ranting i'm just insane about twisted wonderland and malleus specifically

CHAPTER 3: TRAPPED IN THIS NIGHTMARE

Eddie’s taken to selling at Starcourt by the dumpsters near the loading dock. It gives him an excuse to lurk around the mall throughout the week without needing to act like he’s there to buy something every time he goes into Scoops… which is every time he’s at the mall, because he’s a sad pathetic excuse for a man, with a hopeless, moronic, crush on Steve Harrington. His resolution to get over his feelings and keep his distance lasted approximately three days after Steve’s party before Eddie caved and stopped by Starcourt to see his favorite man in uniform again. Eddie had steeled himself for the worst, prepared himself just in case Tommy and Carol’s comments had caused Steve to see him differently, for him to keep his distance. Of course, Steve had surprised him once again, greeted him with a large smile, and given him an extra scoop on his sundae free of charge. Hence the aforementioned crush reaching record-shattering peaks of patheticness. It can just be a summer indulgence, like the ice cream, he’d reasoned with himself. Eventually, he comes to the decision that since Steve is bound to leave Hawkins one day—and if God is just, Eddie will too—so he may as well enjoy the eye candy while he’s young and spry and it’s readily available. Besides, he’s a growing boy, he can’t help himself. Maybe he’s going through a second puberty, or maybe he was hit by some sort of stray love spell. He certainly can’t be held responsible for his actions, that’s for damn sure.

on the one hand i've never lived in a proper city before and i'm slightly terrified but FUCK am i excited to live somewhere with a proper cinema next year
