Charles Mayberry Kimbrough (May 23, 1936 – January 6, 2023) Stage, film and television actor, best known for his role as the straight-faced anchorman Jim Dial on Murphy Brown. In 1990, his performance in the role earned him a nomination for an Emmy Award for "Outstanding Supporting Actor in a Comedy Series".
Other television series he appeared in include Kojak, Great Performances,  Tales of the Unexpected, Spenser: For Hire, Hothouse, Love Boat: The Next Wave, Another World and Ally McBeal.  He also lent his voice talent to animated series like Dinosaurs, Mighty Max, Pinky and the Brain, Family Guy, The Angry Beavers, Batman Beyond and The Zeta Project.  (Wikipedia)
