One of the very best things you can do is learn how to entertain yourself with minimal use of computers. Maybe this is something Gen-X can pass on (if we care to) but any kind of board games or card games or jigsaw puzzles, any kind of crafts or even the resurgence of coloring books, etc., cooking and baking that doesn’t take a lot of effort but does take time (like bread) anything that has to do with keeping animals/pets, any kind of low-key physical activity or just “being outside” - those new little camp stoves you can have on your patio and throw twigs in and roast marshmallows, etc. Going fishing, going for a walk, keeping some plants in pots or a little garden, birdwatching… rainy-day house projects like polishing brass or furniture… running errands for a couple hours, stopping by people’s houses to drop things off… (I feel like I’m beginning to describe the ideal life…)

All these things you can chill out doing with some music on to vibe with. Maybe now and then watch an episode of a good show or a sportsball game or something. Movies at home or in theaters were usually events and it’s kind of cool to keep them that way. Video games were always best with a bunch of friends getting together. People need to talk on the phone more - even better now with video chat. Like let the technology be the backdrop of it all, a little grease in the wheels, but nothing we are dependent on. Some of my best memories growing up were from days the power went out.

I say this well aware that I stare at a screen too much in my own free time but we have to get away from staring and back to doing and being together. Don’t want to do anything? Read a book. Don’t want to read? Sit in silence and look at something green or something on fire. We need to learn again what it feels like to just be as part of our entertainment, not just passively being entertained.

Genshin event where we temporarily work in Xilonen's workshop as assistants.

The event's main role is to take up and manage comissions from clients, a bit like the bartender event. Clients fill out the required forms, so their requests can either come with detailed blueprints or a general vibe of what they want and we must manage them.

Another feature would be a Xilonen mood bar that gets depleted with each new project she completes and requires time or limited events (such as naps and DJ sessions) to be restored (kinda like March 7th's Primaveral Blade Event in hsr).

There are four types of projects:

- Small projects with a detailed blueprint (-15 mood bar);

- Small projects with just a general idea of what they want (-30 mood bar) ;

- Big projects with detailed blueprints (-45 mood bar);

- Big projects with just a general idea of what they want (-60 mood bar).

And every day we also get a special visit from the other characters, mostly with requests or small stories, though those requests won't drain Xilonen's mood:

- Mavuika appears once a day, right before the workshop's closing time (she has way too much work and only gets time off at the end of the day). She will come with detailed blueprints and schematics of the craziest projects possible (a car, an helicopter, a jenga game, hair accessories for her flaming hair, etc), Xilonen will usually just say "no" and run away, though she did craft the jenga game and the hair accessories;

- Kachina, Mualani and Kinich will come and ask her to fix Turbo-Twirly (some bullies broke it). Xilonen fixes it right away, free of charge, but not before joining Mualani, Kinich and Traveler in a revenge quest (Mavuika was there too, but stayed to guard the workshop and cook some Saurus Crackers for Kachina);

- Citlali asks for a special comission related to a light novel she recently read (either an action figure or a replica of a weapon from the story);

- Ororon comes along requesting a way to protect his crops from harsh weather, which leads to a whole mini quest featuring a cameo of Ifa;

- Lyney shows up with a damaged Pers and a few of its schematics, though Lynette will appear the next day to retrieve the penguin and request a contraption that they can use for their magic shows, with the three siblings coming to thank Xiolonen the day after (Freminet got injured during a mission in Sumeru's desert, but since Sumeru is mostly Dottore's turf, the twins decided to regroup with Capitano's soldiers in Natlan. Lynette was guarding an unconscious Freminet while Lyney searched for a skilled craftsperson to repair Pers, since he's the extroverted one);

- Furina makes an appearance, with some ideas for stage props (Neuvillette can be seen in a nearby lake, chilling with the capybaras);

- Kaveh also makes a visit, curious about the use of phlogiston. He was visiting Natlan in the hopes of helping with rebuilding efforts and ended up meeting Mavuika. They chatted for a while about the nation's architecture, as well as possible future collaborations between Natlan and Sumeru and, when it was time for Mavuika's nightly visit to Xilonen's workshop, Kaveh decided to tag along, even helping the Traveler dissuade Mavuika from submitting one of her crazy blueprints (instead of a flying fortified hospital, Kaveh got a few fennec fox toys as a souvenir, Xilonen appreciates the help);

- Paimon and Little One also make an appearance, visiting the Traveler and requesting "a reminder of our journey through Natlan". We can choose what the Traveler will create, with the options being a small Tepetlisaur figurine, a metal plate with Paimon, Traveler and Little One or an accessory for the Traveler that matches Little One's scarf (a hairband for Aether or an earring for Lumine, maybe);

- In the last day, Nepecha will ask for a comission as well, presenting her own blueprints. It's just a toy, but Xilonen is super proud of her, and the blueprints can later be seen framing one of the workshop's walls, even after the event's end

Event rewards would include primos, a few teapot decorations and maybe a namecard, as well as a new sword (a gift from Xilonen and the best weapon for Traveler, it even allows them to immediately change elements, no Statue of the Seven required).

Multi-player adventure games should have a NPC setting. Rather than being the adventurer, you can choose to just...vibe. You can gather food and farm and craft things and build houses and chat with your fellow 'NPC' players, and when you need something thats difficult to get or something, you can just activate a little "quest available" button so that adventurers know to talk to you. You can ask adventurers to gather the thing or item or tool you need, and because you have all the lore and knowledge about the thing in a handy handbook, you can give them cool quests and lore, but not have to GO ON QUESTS

As someone who likes just chilling in adventure games and doesn't want to fight things so much, I think this could be a fun way to play games with your game grinding friends. They get the adventure and you get the bliss, and you both enjoy the world the way you want to, but you can still play TOGETHER.

And you can change anytime you want. You aren't STUCK being an 'NPC', you can CHOOSE to adventure if the mood takes you, but it's an option you can activate at any time, in any game area, and you can do all sorts of fun little things with your fellow 'NPC's on the side (including decorating and organizing things and just doing COMMUNITY things, and making the world better and cooler and more exciting for the visiting adventurers!

💼 - What do they do for a living?

The easy thing to say is "well of course they work for Parks Canada!" but what that actually entails is a huge range of potential occupations. Are they doing fire prevention or invasive species management? are they doing the stereotypical park warden interpretation and guided tours? are they doing routine maintenance? are they driving out at 6 am to man a cash register for a few hours with a summer student or two? are they laundering all those rented bathing suits and cleaning washrooms?

It's easy enough to say "well yeah all of it" and I'm sure with their depth and breadth of experience over the past hundred years they easily could have done a bit of all of it (or, maybe enough to get blacklisted from certain professions for a decade or two, lol)

Also thinking about how they started, Nor's initial "purpose" was for a sanitarium, so even if she's not like a Trained Medical Professional (tm) I feel like she probably still has this long standing interest in people's health. She's always running around doing different things anyway but I think she's a calm presence in a crisis and the person you want to show up with the first aid kit, whether it's from a scrape with wildlife or climbing or a burn from working in a kitchen, etc. Also somewhat ironically, I think her doing more admin work or chilling in the museum/arts centre is like a nice reprieve from being the token expert in Every Job!

Jas started life as an HBC fort - albeit not a super engaged and successful one compared to Ed, so I'm guessing the retail life was never really their strong suit. I also think Jas would have had a somewhat strained relationship with the national park / feds for a long time (partially due to the expulsion of the First Nations and Metis who were the architects of the famous cozy cabin culture of the area, partially due to kind of ignoring the authority of the HBC previously, and partially just not taking Parks Canada rules as seriously as Nor does). However, I do think Jas is a pretty hardcore naturalist and will take any excuse to be up a tree or down a cave, or out maintaining the trails etc., so conservation work with Parks Canada is still a "natural" [cough] fit for them.

🎹 - Do they have any hobbies?

The implication from the above answer is that they both love their work, which kind of makes some obvious overlaps (is hiking and climbing a hobby if its your job? lol)

I think Eleanor - going off on the centre of the arts, of course - is the most likely to be into things like painting and film making (or at least film watching). These are hobbies that kind of force her to sit in one place and mediate for a little while.

I'm tempted to say that one of Jas' takeaways from the HBC life was an interest in textiles - although the image of them crocheting some kind of amigurumi while hanging off the side of a cliff is really funny now that I think of it. But my impression is that they're more into the ephemeral stuff like music/dance than crafting overall.

🎯 -What do they do best?

I think of the two Eleanor is the one who is better at the interpretation part of chatting to visitors, telling them why something is interesting or important or amazing, telling a story in a way that's easy to follow, and also scolding people for interacting with the park in an irresponsible way. She's also the one who picks up other languages reasonably well because she takes the opportunities to use them and to connect with people.

Apart from being the best at napping and sleeping, lol, Jas is probably the best at noticing when something has changed or is out of whack. I think despite the impressions they give other people that they're actually incredibly observant and will be the first to notice the change in season, or when there's an improvement in an ecological recovery zone/species, or even when someone is acting differently or has a new haircut. They're also just bizarrely good at navigation as part of this - Jas is the person you want on hand when you're lost in the dark (kind of like a contemporary David Thompson? hahaha)

I've been around for years now and have never introduced myself. mainly cause I just choose to vibe and enjoy the posts people share, but first time for everything. You can just call me Key, I'm 25 and I go by she/her. Even when I started making fics I'm still not sure what goes through my mind when it comes to the title or chapter titles its literally the first thing that comes to mind and nothing after that but we will get it one day for sure.

Here's Some WIPs (that's both written and not) you guys can look forward too from me. I'll remove them and add them under the appropriate fic tags once I post them:

Uncle Yamcha fic: It is currently three chapters. The first one is him and Trunks, second is Marron, and the third one is Bra/Bulla. I really want to think of one for him and Goten but nothing has come to my mind. I just think he's more close to Krillin and Bulma where he'd interact more with their kids and I can't think of a scenario for him and Goten or what they would even talk about but maybe something will come. (I've currently sent this off to my Beta for review but lemme know if you guys want to see the un-beta'd version I have on here cause I'm really forward to sharing it)

Untitled EOZ fic following after Goku leaves the Tournament grounds to train Uub. This one sits at about 8k words (not sure exactly cause I added a bunch of notes at the end for my beta to see where my thoughts were going with it all) anyways this one focuses mainly on Trunks, Goten, Marron, Pan, and Bra as really the older kids look forward to what may lie ahead. A lot of it is just me focusing on the dynamics they have with each other. When I saw that dlc for kakorat was going to be focused on that one that really makes me want to share this one. Again let me know if you want to see that.

Based on this Ask here you can already see that I've completed 4 out of my 5 ideas so that leaves the other ones and maybe more if I think of anything else. All of these will probably be added to my Little Events fic. a few little ideas not shared here but I've thought about and have some dialoge in mind but haven't fully created yet.

I want to do something where Mario and Haru interact I just think it'll be so neat.

Maybe something where I do my take on introducing Sarasland and Princess Daisy. Probably along the lines of Peach meeting Daisy for the first time.

I need to hop on the wholesome bros. content at some point and I know I wanna try my hand with Mia and Pio as a part of it.

I think thats it for now...I'll probably add more if I think of something as having somwhere to put it down no matter how small it is can be nice to look at and push me towards getting it done.

Although it's been a while since I found a book that peeked my interest ,I mostly read fanfics recently . Video games hold a special place in my heart, I LOVE the different art styles and plots in each game. I like anime, but I've been too busy lately to watch. I have some sewing skills, mostly for patching things up, but I want to sew clothes and learn crochet in the future. Crafting is another hobby I enjoy, I am good with my hands. I love learning new stuff. biology ,psychology, and physics r my fav subjects(i like learning about anatomy whether it's animal's or human's +plants in the medical field +my fav scientist is Nicolas Tesla). I speak 3 languages: Arabic (native), French, and English. I plan to learn Spanish, Italian, or German next, depending on my mood. **Personality:**

My personality is quite flexible and depends on both the people I'm with and my mood. When I'm outside , I tend to feel anxious, although I do my best not to show it. I come across as calm, chill, and reserved, often giving off a "don't approach me" vibe, but I'm friendly and won't reject anyone who wants to chat, although I dislike small talk and feel a bit uneasy around boys. I've had trust issues due to past betrayals, so I'm cautious with my relationships now (whether it is friends or family ,no lover tho ,don't get me wrong i can be quiet the romantic but the only man that I would probably get attached to would be fictional for sure lol)

With my close friends, I'm more open, bright, and cheerful. I talk a lot about my interests, sharing random facts (they call me a nerd). You and Vil are surprisingly similar which makes it easier for you two to click than with most other people. You both try your absolute hardest to be the best people you can be and see the beauty in the world around you although while he tries to bring out the beauty in things you see beauty in the way they already were.

You and Vil met during alchemy class after you dropped into Twisted Wonderland. At first Vil was his usual perfectionist self: ordering you around and being controlling about how to do your project, but once you showed him your alchemic proficiency he was genuinely impressed.

Ever since then not only did you capture his respect, but also his intrigue. Despite being as busy as he is, when he had the time he would try to learn more about who you were by either word of mouth or asking your friends (Rook offered to “observe you” but Vil voted against it for it is rude and creepy).

One day while he was on a run he saw you under a tree practicing your sewing. He decided this was a good opportunity to strike up a conversation with you given he knew a thing or two about clothes.

He walked over and gave you some advice about your stitching. Sadly it came off a lot more condescending then he would like and it rubbed you the wrong way which lead you to giving him the cold shoulder but tried to politely dismiss yourself.

You know those guys that are more intrigued by those who aren’t interested in them? Yeah that’s Vil even if he’ll never admit it. The more you ignore or avoid him the more he wants to make amends and try to impress you.

Until one day where you’re in a particularly bad mood you have an outburst about how him not giving you space makes you uncomfortable due to old wounds and ask what his deal was.

This made him realize his behavior towards you was unfair and disrespectful. He didn’t take your feelings or comfort into account at all. He is as ashamed with himself.

He stood before you and gave a genuine and sincere apology before walking away.

You don’t know how or why, but his apology moved you. He’s not like other guys you’ve met before. You could tell that he felt genuine remorse and met every word of what he said

A week later you two run into each other again and make awkward small talk. You can tell that he still feels bad about what he did, so you propose that you guys start over as true friends.

And he agrees.

After that you slowly but surely grow closer and closer. Bonding over shared passions and views, before long Vil is falling in love with you. You’re not his first crush, but you’re the first one he truly feels love and affection for. Not just a relationship for the press or screens.

And so he asks you out like a classic fairytale prince for a fancy private dinner. And although you accept you let him know that he doesn’t need to do something so extravagant, that you would be happy no matter what. That takes him by surprise, but it’s not an unwelcome one.

You and Vil are like an old married couple once you finally get together.

Always bantering about how you both need to take better care of yourselves. It’s wholesome and funny at the same time.

Because he can’t always spend a lot of time with you, his love language is gift giving and acts of service. What better way to spend his money than on you. He gets you things he sees you eyeing in the store or on your wishlist or things that make your day a bit easier.

He saved her life when she was jumped by a gang of highbloods she'd angered. She'd already snapped and was attempting to fight them off herself when he arrived. That's the end of my big market weekend! And it was really a great time. Today was a little harder, I felt a little more defeated easier when I wasn't making sales as quickly. But it was still a really productive and lucrative day.

I slept alright last night. I woke up a few times but no nightmares. I told James they should sleep with a teddy bear because their mouth keeps opening while they are sleeping and I don't like it and so they could use the best to keep their chin up. Which is how I sleep with my bear. And I think it worked. Though it has us in a fit of giggles for a little while there.

I woke up a little later then I originally planned but it actually was the perfect amount of time. To get ready. And then to have breakfast. James used the last of the persimmon to make crepes. And they were good. We hung out on the couch for a few minutes. And at 10 we were off.

We had to go to the craft store to get more paper bags first. I read James this insane story about a husband requesting to take a "gaycation" and we were basically in hysterics and we keep quoting the story. I was in a really good mood and I felt happy. It was a happy day.

After the craft store we took the tunnel and went to the museum to print some cards for my table. I was slightly nervous about running late but we weren't at all. We were late to being extra early. And would only be regular early when we got to the parking garage around 11.

The security guard went to let us in but discovered he had locked himself out. Oops. So we had to go to a different door. And went to get set up.

It didn't take long. I had the few bears I made yesterday to close up and got those on the table pretty quickly. I made sure to go around and say hello to other vendors. Kind of get a vibe on how people did yesterday. And they did really well! It was really encouraging to hear others doing so well.

Right around noon when everything officially opened up I went and bought a few small things. Two gifts. A pair of earrings for myself I saw yesterday. It was nice chatting with the people I was buying from. There was some excellent energy today.

But not as many sales. It was a little frustrating after having such an easy time yesterday. Way more parents telling their kids they already have to many stuffies. And a vendor a few spaces down had a free toy box, which I felt like (possibly) didn't help.

I did have some great conversations and lots of people saying lovely things about my work. I had lots of people taking my card and wanting to inquire about commissions and classes. It was still nice. Even if the sales were slow.

It took almost 3 hours before we got $100. But thankfully the last three hours would go a little better. Eventually bringing the weekend total to $1k! Incredible. I am so wildly proud.

I also felt really loved when people came to see us. Jules from the museum came and bought a bear. And she is such a social butterfly and knew some of the other vendors and there was screeching and hugs which was so cute to see. And around 230 Callie came to visit. She would walk around the market for a bit and when she circled back James would go for their own walk and she chilled with me. And we each worked on our own projects and talked a little. She is working on a lino print and I continued to sew. I totally finished 4 frogs today and finished the sewing of 8 bears. It was very productive.

James was so super helpful and supportive today. I could tell they were trying really hard to be supportive and present. They also went and got us lunch which was very good. I was trying very hard to feel happy. My back was hurting pretty bad when I was sitting, and my feet hurt when I was standing. But I was still happy.

I enjoyed people watching. And thinking about how to optimize my work the next few months when I'm not doing markets. I am growing a baby and I am hoping that I can still sit and see when she's here. But I also want to make sure I have a good backlog. It was funny seeing that I had almost every single plush I have with me today. It also makes me want to reassess the studio and how things are organized because I know of can be better. So I will start thinking through that ASAP.

The day was winding down. James told me I needed to make $10 to average $500 each day of this market. And there were a few people I was so sure we're going to buy something and they didn't and that was a bummer. But right before we started closing up someone bought a print and pushed us to the goal!! It was super exciting and I just felt so relieved.

It didn't take long to pack up. I have a really good system and not to many things that need to be put away. I made sure to find the organizer to say thank you for having me. And her and some of the other people from the organization were having a toast so I took some pictures for them. Told them how happy I was and how this was the best/most profitable market I've ever done. And that I am having a baby and won't have another (probably) until after she's here. So this was a wonderful market to go out on. I may still go to that Thursday night farmers market but still. A great way to end the season. Hugs all around.

Me and James walked to the parking garage. I got turned around and took us the wrong way and James teased me about how I can never find the car. But we found it and loaded up all my stuff and went home.

I got a little car sick. Super annoying. I had felt mostly fine all day!! Why was I so nauseous. It made me very upset.

But I was okay. When we got home I changed into soft clothes so James could take what I wore to add to the laundry they wanted to run. We had frozen pizza for dinner. And I played animal crossing for a bit. My stomach still hurts and my back hurt. James would come lay with me and press on my back which helped a bit. But eventually convinced me to get off the couch and go take a shower and that did help.

But I am very tired. And I feel all dried out. My lips are dry. My skin feels tight. I changed my navel ring to a long bar but I will probably have to switch to the soft bar I got for pregnant belly. I am getting really round in the middle. Which is exciting but also. I am slightly afraid that my belly button is going to tear open somehow. So far my stretchmarks are just light and I have been lotioning consistently. But still. I'm scared for my skin. I am keeping an eye for sure.

Now though I am in bed. I think I will get up and pick some outfits for the next couple days. We are going to stay in a cabin this weekend so I will just pick for the next couple days before I pack for that. James will finish the laundry soon and come lay in bed with me and we will sleep.

We have an OB appointment in the morning and then we might go to the new Wicked movie in the afternoon. I think it sounds like a lovely Monday.

Hmm poorly! ^_^; But the logic became: Dog picked his name* because he was amused by the idea of having a name that can be general slang. he's always waiting for the day when someone says "what's up, dawg?" (he lives in a 90s sonic comic okay?) and he can.. well.. he hasn't really realized his response would not be different whether that was just a normal greeting or his name. and I'm not sure it's going to happen either, but it amuses him anyway. he's easily amused :) *all three of them in their core friend group have picked their names. dog + bebe for transgender reasons and fleet just for general Identity reasons.

16 (or 16-ish; i actually have to check his ref every time so the specific number isn't that important since I can never remember it)

skating! dog + her friends all meet + bond over skating :) dog prefers to board and honestly takes it real casual. she can do some tricks and will go out there and focus for a while, but usually she just slowly rolls around on her board and chats with her friends. she also collects trading cards and plays videos games.

dog isn't really the competitive type--she's just here to have fun and be herself. as such, she doesn't really care to think about whether or not shes 'good' at things... he's just chilling! i think his friends might say his strengths are in handling stress, being a good listener, and first aid. and then theyd tack on that some of the casual little gum wrapper crafts she makes are wicked cool

not really a memory, but i think he treasures his childhood friendship with bebe :) he loves to see how she's grown into a more confident and happy person. any time he makes a new friend is a good memory. any time his friends make a new friend is also a good memory. reaching out and welcoming in that nervous yellow hedgehog lingering at the edge of the park for the first time and seeing him warm up to the group was a good memory :)

dog's parents aren't really in the picture! he lives with his nan. they have a semi-strained relationship--they love each other and have their bonding moments, but she can get pretty riled up about some of the things dog does (knuckle tats, dirty room), even if there are others she just doesn't seem to care about (skipping school, extended stays at friends' houses, nosering). dog usually defaults to "ignore and avoid" if things are anything less than peachy.

What drinks do you recommend? What's best for just relaxing at home, chilling with friends, hardcore partying, etc.?

relaxing at home: bourbon or white wine. generally bourbon, b/c there's less pressure to Finish The Bottle or anything like that; bourbon is shelf-stable and there for me whether i want a half-shot or, uh, lots of shots

(if someone's with me or it's a very cheap bottle of white wine, i'll tend to opt for the wine)

but yeah Eagle Rare is my fave bourbon; it's bottled close to where i grew up. shame it's gone up so much in price lately but it really strikes the balance between scotch-style subtlety/complexity and bourbon-style still-tasting-good-and-sweet-and-not-like-dirt

partying: if you asked me in college this would've been a vodka-cranberry lmao. i have ascended to the realms of Better Taste now; i'd probably go for a decent rum cocktail if i'm trying to throw back a lot. i mean if i REALLY want to get messed up i can also just throw back rum shooters in the bathroom but. i rarely am in such a situation

in between: they're kinda pricey, but there's a lot to be said for a fancy cocktail bar where the drinks come slowly but are immaculately crafted, the food is cute lil small plates, no one's hurrying you and you can just chat a long time. some of my favorite times with friends have just been shooting the shit in a cozy booth & catching up on shit & trying out that BIZARRE looking cocktail we see across the room because is that a MARSHMALLOW on top??? & oh shit is this place serving ramen, i had no idea, i love ramen & also hey why don't i point at that tiki mug and just ask the bartender to make me something that tastes like that. it's like one of my bougier indulgences but it's legitimately really nice; you always leave buzzed-but-not-drunk, just vibing and feelin good

when budgets have not allowed for said bars then i'd stick with bourbon at home. woodford reserve double oaked or angel's envy is really nice. i have to be careful not to accidentally drink anyone under the table (do NOT try to keep up with my bourbon consumption) but a good bourbon served out in teeny portions with nice glasses can have a similarly good vibe
