sassy self-hug. also some speculative skeleton
now you gotta excuse me if the skeleton doesn't make sense or got some incorrectness (though how much can you really judge something incorrect in a fantasy creature) for I never really studied biology lol. the general idea was to combine bird and dinosaur anatomy with mammalian structures, and figure out the wing-arms. this may as well be excused with the scientists in her lore throwing shit at wall and seeing what sticks

In case anyone was wondering about my wonderful worm, here is 7 month old vs the now approximately 2 year old Poptart the palmetto corn snake ! Her colors have developed so intensely, she no longer is a tiny pink worm, and contrary to what I was told about the morph she did definitely gain spots, and spots that she initially had have grown in size as well!

These were fun! I went into a little bit of dive for each of these breeds while researching them. Apparently, lakenvelders were bred in part to look like lakenvelder cattle (aka Dutch belted, the “Oreo” cows). I thought that was kinda cool.

Chickens likely domesticated themselves the same way wolves did which is basically by hanging around our settlements and eating our refuse.
Living with chickens in this sort of way was likely happening way before the estimated times of 8,000- 10,000 years ago. The relationship was likely already long established it was just during that time some chickens started developing smaller/weaker adrenal glands which caused them to become much easier to raise and handle which eventually lead to the domesticated chicken we know of today (and how that happened so suddenly is a completely different but very interesting topic)
Also due to this you could argue that there isn't any true wild red jungle fowl left untouched and uninfluenced by humans anymore. Not only due to constant cross breeding with domestic chickens but because red jungle fowl are still doing what their ancestors did in their current range, if there is a town or village nearby the bravest junglefowl will still choose to intermingle with the village and eat the refuse, agricultural byproducts, and waste. People will still catch and care for these "wild" birds like their ancestors did. This isn't to say we shouldn't try our best to preserve the wild red jungle fowls wild genetics, their should be populations left to be in their natural environment but it's likely they are not truly same wild birds they once were thousands of years ago and honestly that's OK because thats how its been for thousands of years.

Youre giving out eggs????? In this economy?????????????
In our defense, both Killie and I live in the UK, they’re not THAT expensive here.
More to the point is what a small angry jockey is going to DO with this unexpected wealth before the Grand National.

i have a question. where is Darrell in the Soul Beast AU (if he is in this AU)? did he escape on his own? is he with Heart? does he attempt to comfort Mind? possibilities. i am Curious.
-RevolvingHell
Tumblr media
At first I was a bit unsure about including him, but someone I know hates him so he’s here out of spite and semi(?) important.
At first it was Heart who ‘took care’ of him, clinging onto him desperately because he’s the last piece of Soul they have left. But you can’t take care of something when you never leave your room, and Darrell eventually decides to find food elsewhere. Heart becomes too tired to even pay him any attention, but he still grieves the day he stopped pecking on his door to be let inside.
Cue Mind having to take on the responsibility of caring for him. At first it was a chore, throwing the food haphazardly into the bowl and scowling. Soul was gone, why the hell was this thing still here? But as time goes on and Mind grows more restless, a relationship slowly but surely forms.
Soon Darrell is following him around the house and comforting him after a long day, it’s kind of like the dad who didn’t want the cat in the first place but ends up falling in love with it.
Minds 100% convinced this thing is too stupid to recognize Soul is gone, but he can’t help but linger on the way he stares out the window everyday. Perhaps they’re not so different after all? Or perhaps Minds just gone crazy. He thinks it’s the latter.
