Me, seeing people theorize that Haku is actually Chihiro's deceased brother. Or me, seeing people say that Chihiro and Haku's love can't be romantic, because she's 10 years old and Haku is a big immortal river spirit...

So... How can I say... This bullshit theory is so stupid. We know who Haku is at the end of the film and why they seemed to know each other. Haku is once again a powerful river spirit, a river in which Chihiro almost drowned as a child and he saved her. As simple as that. Stop with this delirium of "It's his brother !" Anyway, let's be realistic, this theory only exists to refute the romance between the two characters.

Then, precisely speaking of romance... If the love between Chihiro and Haku was platonic, I don't see why we would be entitled to Kamaji who swings: "You don't see, very dear, it's love !" to Lin. O r: "Love makes you truly invisible." to Haku when he wakes up. And again, that's for my French version. It seems to me that in English Kamaji tells Lin that Chihiro loves Haku with love. Sure that sounds very friendly or fraternal...

Also... You can fall in love at 10. Stop linking everything to sex. No because let's be real, that "You can't be in love as a kid" myth is usually said by people who basically think that since you don't have a sexuality yet, well you can't really love someone. My family members think like that, for example. And yes, they are idiots. Of course, at 10 you can fall in love ! Full do it ! If we could stop constantly relating love to sex, please !

Also, I would like us to stop talking about the age of immortal beings which does not exist in our real world. You don't know how this individual is internally / mentally speaking. Especially since in principle, he has no age after all. So stop with this shitty excuse.

It's not for nothing that Haku has the physique of a child here. It's to match Chihiro.

Also, Miyazaki very often makes romances in each of his films. In almost every film there is an explicit romantic relationship or in subtext. Even in Ponyo ! If the 4-year-olds in Ponyo love each other and even kiss, why not Chihiro and Haku ?!
