◇Yandere Concept◇
•○ 《Ryu Shi-Oh》 ○•
『This is just my own concept but not the general and true view of the character as a yandere, although canonically he may or may not present these... behaviors』
Tumblr media Tumblr media
〔Warning ⚠️: This may or may not contain Spoilers for the show in question, please do not read it if you have not yet seen the mentioned K-Drama. In addition, somewhat sensitive topics such as child abuse, drugs, mentions of sex and among others will be included.〕 Postscript: There may or may not be spelling errors, misplaced character pronouns (I'm dyslexic) so I'm sorry for the inconvenience because this was written at night and I was sleepy, and I'm not a fan of English, so this might be bad.
A puppet of the Russian mafia, Ryu Shi-oh is ruthless and unscrupulous. Depending on how you have met him, he will treat you differently. He would most like a Darling who is as lively, positive and almost like the protagonist of the K-drama where he comes from.
Tumblr media
》☆ Obsession:
Ryu Shi-oh will take quite a while to trust you, since he has the police and other enemies after his head. However, if you're the gentle type (if you go all in with this yandere, it would be best for both of you), he'll see you as his emotional refuge, the only source of light in his dark life, though that doesn't mean it won't take a little effort for him to be open to you. Despite his yandere tendencies, he feels a desperate need to protect that vulnerable part of himself by sometimes seeming distant (or perhaps he is at first).
Once he is aware of his feelings for you, then things will change (not much but at least he won't always be on guard with you). You will see him as shy, loving (in his own strange way). Of course, he will be somewhat slow in his feelings but VERY loyal once he is sure of them.
》☆ Obsessive Control:
Russian mafia upbringing has instilled in him either consciously or unconsciously, a need for absolute control and even to the point of violence. Ryu Shi-o monitors every move you make (that's only in his facet of having just met you), from his daily interactions to his friendships. Since if it's at the beginning of getting to know you, he wants to make sure there are no betrayals or double-crosses on your part.
On the other hand, if you've known each other for a while, then his vigilance will be more about getting to know you in depth since he is somewhat clumsy in interactions (other than about his work or murder). He will know everything about you, even things you may not even remember. What kind of flowers you like, X item you've been lusting after and so on.
》☆ Dark Gifts:
To express his love, Ryu Shi-oh tends to give you expensive and luxurious things (When he is getting to know you they are more like decoys) But then he gives you things that you might like, as I mentioned in the previous post, but often these carry a hint of double interactions (He stressed, Ryu Shi-oh doesn't trust people much, he has traumas.... Someone get this man some therapy for god's sake!!!).
》☆ Intense Jealousy:
The thought of losing you arouses a fierce rage in Ryu Shi-o. He can become possessive and jealous, going to extreme lengths to keep you tied to his side. His traumatic past contributes to his constant fear of being abandoned or betrayed, he horribly hates lies (This is Canon by the way, he said so himself).
Since he grew up in a precarious and horrible environment, his concepts of love are null to say the least.... he doesn't know anything about the real meaning beyond what is written in books or Google. So when his jealousy is present, he usually lashes out in anger because he doesn't understand or know how to handle his emotions well, that's why he is always stoic and avoids emotional contact with others.
He thinks at the beginning that these emotions are a weakness (because of his upbringing obviously) so you will understand his attitudes and actions at the beginning.
Back to the scenario (depending on whether you work for him or otherwise were Nam Soon's sister, so to speak). However it was, before and after he met you until he gained your trust, his jealousy is powerful and terrifying.
For example, if you deny him or are somewhat alien to his feelings (ahem! Nam soon) then Ryu Shi-oh may or may not threaten those you hold dear or end up killing the subject of his jealousy if provoked enough.
He may or may not send you videos of it, who knows, he's a fucking mafia-bred man.
》☆ Demonstrations of Power:
As CEO of Doogu, Ryu Shi-oh uses his influence and resources to protect you from his enemies, though also to investigate you, but often does so ruthlessly. He uses his position to eliminate any perceived threat (whether real or not, as in the case of being jealous), regardless of the consequences.
When it comes to, for example, demonstrating how happy you could be (excluding that he is a mobster and has a front business for the real thing, drugs) he can afford a whole restaurant for just the two of you or go on trips when he is not busy.
Also when it comes to dealing with you, depending on whether or not you agree to go out with him, he will use his resources. Either way you will end up with him (if you don't want innocent people hurt).
》☆ Hidden Insecurities:
Despite his confident facade, Ryu Shi-o harbors deep insecurities. Fearful that the reader will discover his dark side, he struggles not to show his vulnerability. This can manifest in moments of emotional self-isolation. More common when they are getting to know each other, refusing to accept their emotions more as a passing interest.
When he already falls for you, he refuses to see you leave him for someone else (Or when you don't want more than a friendship) He clings to the feeling you give him or your kindness/courtesy. He has never felt the comfort you give him, you treat him as human and not the tool the Russians used.
》☆ Future plans:
Although his methods are questionable, Ryu Shi-oh looks for love in you. He sees in that relationship an opportunity to find peace and redemption for the sins of his past, even if his actions may be morally ambiguous. He really is a yandere who would give everything for you, though of course after fulfilling his goals.
Since he has experimented on himself, his strength is inhuman and that may or may not lead to use on special occasions... special occasions. Going back to his plans with you,if you behave just by staying out of it, you will have a dream life.... On the other hand, if you are a treacherous liar like Nam Soon (Ryu's own words) Even if he loves and cherishes you, he won't go easy on you.
He will first take it out on your loved ones, then ruining your life until everyone forgets you even exist.... Only then he can stop being angry with you, he is cynical about it.
He will tell you: "But Honey! You did that to yourself... You shouldn't have betrayed me, I gave you everything, I trusted you with my secrets and you were a spoiled whore..... Accept the consequences, only then can we forgive each other."
》☆ Violence as a last resort:
Although he doesn't hesitate to resort to violence towards his subordinates (regarding the real drug business) He never uses it with you as he doesn't want you to see him as someone bad, he tries to keep it as a last resort (We already gave vast examples of which situations can lead him to that) The contradiction between his desire to protect and his ability to be brutal reflects the complexity of his character.
You will always see him as the suave and polite gentleman although distant in his interactions, but as you get to know him better he is just someone traumatized and hurt by his past (He doesn't justify his current actions but he explains why) He never touches a hair on your head if you treat him well (Ryu Shi-oh has the philosophy that his enemies he treats harshly and his allies worse or something similar, what do I know I am just a brat of 18 years old).
》☆ NSFW
》☆ This will be short, but having sex with Ryu Shi-oh is the most sensual thing you could imagine. I won't add much because I need to learn more about the character, well he likes to bite and scratch. He will be slow and very gentle with you when starting this, but when he gets excited like every man he loses his mind and you may or may not end up with whippings or broken bones given his superior strength (literally).
》☆ Ryu loves when you suck his cock or his neck, his favorite parts of your body are those where he can squeeze (female breasts or buttocks). He likes to suck your breasts and play with your neck. His cock is introduced slowly so when you are ready, he gives you everything he has.
》☆ In the end, you will end up tired but satisfied (Unless you have done wrong and Ryu is angry when making love, there it is not smooth and he could even take it out on you due to his jealousy) Afterwards, the care he gives you is soft and sensual, always apologizing for breaking some bones.
In general, having a yandere like him can be a double-edged sword. Ryu Shi-oh can be so kind or cruel depending on your reactions and treatment towards him. It's like swimming on nails, you have to watch where you're going or you'll end up getting hurt.
This is all independent of the K-drama "Nam soon Super Strong Girl" since it is merely my interpretation of this beautiful villain who, from my perspective, didn't deserve so much pain even though he brought it on himself in the end.
Tumblr media
[For those anons who asked me for something, I promise that as soon as I get my ideas together I will start writing because I am a mess at this. I could barely do anything right with this yandere concept.]

Extra things I scripted into my MHA DR
Some are safety related and some are for my convenience as i was worried about them
Mosquitoes, lice, ticks, fleas, cockroaches, silverfish, and bed bugs don’t exist.
There is no rape in my DR.
There is no racism or racial prejudice.
There is no homophobia and no transphobia. There are no surgical requirements for transgender people to be able to change their gender legally. No ban on same sex marriage or same sex adoption. Equal fucking rights. LOVE IS LOVE BITCH
I take Mineta’s place in Class 1-A. Mineta is not in my DR.
UA has always had the dorms.
I have enough money to always live comfortably. UA provides all students with stipends
No one in my Class or Class B will die.
Midnight will not die
Present Mic will not die
All Might will not die
Eraserhead will not die
There is no hero licensing exam. We are given our licenses at the discretion of our teachers at our school, based on when they think we are ready for them. Class 1-A and 1-B all receive hero licenses after the events at the Training Camp and Kamino.
TikTok exists in my DR, younger heroes often have their own TikTok accounts to gain popularity.
Current music exists in my DR
We speak English at school but everyone is fluent in both english and japanese
I cannot be expelled
The Hero Support course develops a fabric for Hagakure so that she can wear something during hero work and still retain her invisibility. AKA used her hair as a base like they did for Mirio
Hagakure can also control when she is invisible and since her hero quirk will be similar to Mirio’s in concept, it will turn invisible with her
I do not know the plot as it will play out beyond where I enter my DR. For example, I will not know about the attack on the Camp prior to the attack starting
There is no Covid-19 in my DR
We have the same homeroom teacher for all three years at UA.
UA has professional therapists to help hero students cope with stress and emotions that come with hero training. These therapists can make sure students in need of mental health counseling and medication receive the proper care. (Amajiki)
UA is a college and all students are 20 upon entering their first year at UA, no matter the program.
Eri is not aged up, despite all other characters being aged up. She is still a child.
I will always remember my classmates and their hero names
Spotify Premium is just how spotify works in my DR, for free
UA gives students access to all streaming platforms. Netflix, Disney, HBO, Hulu, etc
Squishmallows has ProHero squishmallows
Sir Nighteye doesn’t die. He is injured but he and All Might will reconcile and All Might will finally explain why he couldn’t give the quirk to Mirio
The War Arc doesn’t happen, there is a better solution
Instead of the Licensing Exam, we do interschool training exercises to promote working together in the future and being exposed to other future heroes, not just our class or school’s.
I have the right adaptors/chargers/etc for outlets used in Japan
The zombie ova doesn’t happen
I understand the metric system
I understand the yen to US dollar conversion and my banking is set up when I arrive, so I don’t need to worry about it
We have the same dorm building all three years, they just change the signage to signify what year we’re in
Each dorm room has its own private bathroom. There are still the communal baths
Fatphobia is a no <3
Hidden cameras in public and nonpublic spaces aren't a thing.
The toilets are like the ones in America
ADHD/stimulant drugs are legal. I have no issues getting any of my needed medications in Japan and can get them easily from local pharmacies
Stronger Western deodorants are available in Japan, easy to find

Is he even Hyde though if he's not the embodiment of chaos? Imagine the glorious mayhem of Alice in Wonderland and The Spirit of London at Night.
He's not particularly chaotic though. He's impulsive and prone to outbursts but I remember reading the book, the whole incident with the child he trampled proves he's fully capable of spending the night with people in relative peace, eating breakfast with them and then cashing a check. No bloodshed, no drama.
There's nothing that indicates to me that he can't behave himself when he needs to and when he chooses not to it's because he wants to overindulge in his vices, sex, drugs, sadism, etc.
He's not the embodiment of anything except Henry Jekyll's midlife crisis. He's a middle aged man's alter ego that got carried away and became an all consuming addiction. Hyde gives Jekyll pleasures he can't get and makes him feel young and strong again. Hyde is an outlet for Jekyll's ugliest more selfish desires and Jekyll has fed him so much he's taken on a life of his own. He's still at his core, Jekyll. Not some weird goblin creature that represents some mystical concept of mischief.
Alice isn't that chaotic either tbh, if anything she was a straight man in a world that was full of nonsense. She finds delight in the wonder but nearly every person she meets is kind of horrible to her and they treat her like she should automatically understand their brand of weirdness and she's the odd one out for not knowing how their world works because she's NOT nonsensical like the rest of them. If anything Alice is a very rational and logical person.
Idk, I don't think my interpretations of these characters are going to be for you.

Top 5 episodes of TXF that you dislike
Thanks for asking @scullys-scalpel! I had to go through the episode list to remind myself of the ones I didn't like, and there were more than I was aware of (looking at you seasons 9 and 11...). BUT I was asked for my top 5 dislikes, so I went with the ones I have a visceral negative reaction to.
1. #Gender Bender (#s1e14)
I first watched this episode when I very, very young (like we're talking 10 years old) and I just thought it was so fucked up on so many levels LOL. Not only did the whole sex-pheromone/handing touching thing weird me out but I was also very unsettled by Scully throwing up after escaping Brother Andrew's seduction (I mean, I get it). I have a weird phobia around vomiting and combined with this ep's weirdness my anxiety was ratcheted up, so it's not one that I have revisited.
Tumblr media
2. #The Gift (#s8e11)
Which brings me to this ep lol. I just can't. I could barely get through the first airing and haven't watched it since.
Tumblr media
3. #Firewalker (#s2e09)
I am putting this ep on my list because of how much it terrified me as a kid. I was about 11 years old when it aired and it gave me such nightmares LOL. I had built it up so much in my mind that I avoided it in syndication and hadn't watched it since its first airing. That is, until I was showing the series to my husband and he made me watch it. Now, as an adult, it is much-less scary than I remembered but I nevertheless still turned my head when the spores burst through people's necks. The scene that absolutely terrifies me (still to this day) is when Scully finds an infected Jesse who is making those inhuman gasping sounds. It's a shame that this episode resides in my fear-centre as I completely missed the fact that Bradley Whitford played Trepkos until this most recent viewing.
Tumblr media
4. #Roadrunners (#s8e04)
The saving grace of this episode is, of course, Gillan's acting but that's really about it. I remember thinking "what the hell did I just watch?" after it aired. The concept is just so bizarre and I thought it was ill-timed what with Scully's pregnancy. I'm sure that the writers thought that it only enhanced the urgency of the storyline by putting her and her unborn child's life in peril, but after having just come off the nail-biting season premiere, I thought it was too much, too soon to put Scully through that trauma. Not to mention that such physical trauma would likely put her pregnancy in serious jeopardy. It was just such an ill-conceived episode.
Tumblr media
5. #En Ami (#s7e15)
I immediately disliked this episode from the first time it aired as it raised very serious questions about Scully's consent and bodily autonomy, that weren't really dealt with (until that infamous, completely inappropriate, retcon job in season 11, which was such a cop-out IMO). I was well into highschool when this aired and even then I remember being so disturbed by the implications that Scully was drugged and later undressed (and god knows what else) by CSM while she was unconscious. Not only that, but I thought the whole 'adventure' was completely out of character for her and such a slap in the face to Mulder. Sure, he's ditched her countless times before without rhyme or reason, but what she did was beyond the pale: no matter her so-called 'for humanity' motivation, she went off with the ONE PERSON who has SINGLE-HANDEDLY orchestrated so much destruction in Mulder's life. Obviously this created some very serious tension between them (that, I have to admit, is handled so deliciously in fanfic), but I found it jarring that there could be this level of betrayal in one episode (so shortly after Mulder lost his mother and put the mystery of his sister to rest) and a (presumed) consummation of their relationship a mere two episodes later. It just doesn't compute for me. I understand that the impetus for this episode was Bill Davis wanting an opportunity to work more with Gillian, and kudos to that I guess, but the storyline and its implications are so problematic that I just can't respect it.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
And there you have it! My top 5 most disliked X Files episodes. Thanks for reading :-)

i think there are certain things about fanon jason that fans have said happen in canon more frequently than they do (protecting sex workers or victims of abuse for example) and I’d prefer if Jason were to actually do those things on his own
You have to excuse me but I slept zero hours in the last 2 days. I will try to be short but I probably won't.
1) if someone says Jason did something in canon that he had not, or tries to spin fanon as comics canon specifically, that's obviously wrong, as in not factually correct. I understand the feeling; I am, too, frustrated with similar instances of fanon things framed as canon, or simply misconceptions. Like: Jason wanted to kill Tim Drake in Titans Tower and slit his throat. Or, Bruce is a good father.
2) that said, Jason being protective of victims of sexual violence and exploitation, especially children, women, and sex workers is not fanon at all. And basically, there's going to be four of five stories that get cited for that. Feel free to add links in reblogs for already existing mega popular threads on that. Because when we're talking about Jason fans saying it's canon, well - that is exactly the sort of posts that do.
and believe me, most of us who talk about canon, actually read canon, and actually want more of it in canon as well
3) Now, difference between blink and you missed canon, headcanon, and fanon could be defined differently, but how I define it, with a few examples:
Blink and you miss it canon: Jason being a victim of sexual abuse as a child, and/or sexual exploitation. Where it's from: nixed AIDS storyline; Winnick work with Green Arrow, I don't remember exact name; Morrison's video that Bruce recorded for Jason. Or, another example: Bruce killing Jason in the UtRH. Mind you, it didn't take, but.
It's fine if you disregard it. Because pick and choose your canon. If you don't like something, off with it. But it's what writers intended.
Another example: Jason being overprotective of victims of sexual violence, sexual workers, and children.
Headcanon: based on both Urban Legends and lead up to Death in the Family since at least Dumpster Slasher, I may headcanon that Jason wasn't a victim himself but instead had been a powerless witness of his mother being a victim of sexual exploitation or assault. Which led him to push Robbie the drug dealer down the stairs. Then, as he gets retraumatized during his time as Robin, it repeats with Jason pushing Felipe down the balcony. Another example: Jason is immortal now.
It's something that heavily based on canon, extrapolated from it. It makes sense to the people who subscribe to headcanon but not necessarily to others, and that's fine.
Another example: Jason during his time as a crime lord, also used his power and influence to be "the roof" for sexual workers, based on a) his known protectiveness of them b) a line in Batman and Robin (I think).
Fanon: Jason currently being a sexual worker to finance his vigilante life, as he stopped being the crime lord/gave the club to Suzie Su. Or, another example: Jason having a special relationship with Death, seeing ghosts, but in a different way than in canon (in canon he sees ghosts of All Caste and he died twice and came back so something definitely up, but the fanon I'm talking about is more clear cut like him being a medium or necromancer or something else).
It's something that usually has been inspired by canon but mostly is about "wouldn't it be cool if". Could be freely ignored, might sometimes become very popular so people would think it's canon.
Another example: Jason is boondocks saint of Park Row. Cool concept, never showed or hinted at on page.
4) people who don't read comics have their own canon based on Ao3, Tumblr, Twitter, whatever. Your canon is created by DC, theirs by you. By our collective subconsciousness. I think they're clear winners in life here because sometimes it's a real pain, reading comics.
5) I know all about dumb takes and looking for fics you want to read and not finding them because people have just their own canon - that's fanon for you; or they might have just read different comics. Like. Have you read all Jason appearances? I didn't. Look. I struggle very very much with reading comics. And lately, I have had difficulties with reading at all. So. I won't be a person who is like: you don't read comics, you're not a true fan, you don't know who Jason is, you're delusional or laughable or unpleasant. All of which are the takes real people on this website really have. But so what? If pick and choose your canon is true, then it's true for everyone, okay. Just be careful when you go into discussions.
And I am not saying you are not allowed to be mad about someone's dumb opinions on your favorite character, or the character you love to hate, or anyone else. Or that you can't vent, or rant about it on your blog. You are.
But so is true for anyone else who might not like your takes on canon, your fics, your headcanon or fanon. Just keep it civil so that the fandom would be less toxic.
And by you I don't mean you as a person who sent me an ask, but general you.
6) I am falling asleep a bit. What did we start with? "Certain things about Fanon Jason that fans said happened in canon more frequently that they did". Okay, if things happened in canon, they're canon, if they didn't, they didn't. If someone says something happened in canon when it didn't, they might be either mistaken, or misremembering things, or don't read comics canon and so you can basically consider they have another canon, like sometimes people write about only Arkham Knight, or only in Young Justice the cartoon series, etc. It's the same Jason, but different. You can only stop them from writing what you don't like by making them interested in what you like. And being judgmental is never a good way to go about it. I'm not talking about you here, but again, more in general.
7) Wanting things you're interested in to be portrayed in canon is a natural thing, and I am 💯 behind the notion that someone - I have high hopes about Martinborough (I have probably totally misspelled his name, I'm sorry) - writes Jason exactly like protector of the most vulnerable people he has kinship or similar experience with. Put him in Park Row, Hills, Narrows, East End in general, and just make him make good here, extrapolating from what's already been established about his character before DitF and cemented in Lost Days.
I fucking hope this all makes as much sense as it has in my head. Have a good day.

Your response to the seppie’s post about het sex killed me because it’s true. 💀 And we all know that these rad lesbians would have a complete meltdown if any of us suggests they abstain from recreational (gay) sex due to the TRA conversion rape rhetoric that is still raging on nowadays that have gotten so many lesbians raped and nearly impregnated. Gays and lesbians do have a strong hook up culture and have a lot of indiscriminate sex/NSA sex, and although I did felt bad about how they kept getting assaulted and raped when they go to bars, go on hookup apps, etc etc etc, because they wanted to continue to hook up casually with the same sex…. For them to turn around and tell straight people to stop fucking each other unless they’re okay with pregnancy or the risk of rape is just first rate hypocrisy. Like hello??????? 😭
I understand pregnancy is a natural consequence of heterosexual sex, and I feel like people who consent to sex therefore also consent to the possibility of pregnancy (not the pregnancy itself). It's kind of like going on a wild water ride in a theme park. You may or may not get wet, but despite not knowing the outcome, you go on the ride anyways.
When you hook up with someone, you are also aware that other person might have an STD. And you can carry an STD for up to twenty years without having any symptoms of it, so the other person may not even know they have one. But you still consent regardless, meaning you accept the possibility of catching an STD (which again is different from deliberately seeking out STDs).
Simply saying people should abstain from sex is not going to work because people have sexual feelings. Especially in more liberal environments there is also little to no social control anymore (i.e. people shaming you for it). It's unrealistic to expect abstinence from (heterosexual) women and ironically speaking it's a conservative talking point, though radical feminists want nothing to do with conservatism.
Previously I have compared ''PIV strikes'' and political celibacy to the Catholic Church's view on homosexuality. The Church expects homosexuals to abstain from all sexual relations, which is routinely criticised for being unrealistic. But somehow abstinence is realistic when it comes to heterosexual activity?
I don't know how the gay scene looks at hook up culture but I think gay men tend to be the most promiscuous. Not even because they are gay, but rather because men have higher sex drives than women do. In a heterosexual scenario, this is not going to work because women turn down men for sex more often than the other way around. But in a gay male scenario, the sex drives of two partners will likely match more.
Evolutionary biologists speculate that (heterosexual) men have a higher sex drive to have sex with multiple different women to ensure offspring. Women, on the other hand, tend to want a secure relationship before sexual intercourse to ensure she won't have to raise a child by herself in the case of pregnancy. Women have a higher share of the reproductive burden and therefore are less likely to engage in casual sex. Hook up culture is only able to exist because of inventions like anti-conception pills and abortion. Some even speculate the overturning of Roe vs Wade will lead to the death of hook up culture for this reason. Some conservatives also morally oppose birth control pills and condoms for religious reasons.
I don't know if hook up culture is big in a lesbian scene because on the one hand, women have lower sex drives than men, so you might expect that heterosexual couples have sex more frequently due to the man insisting. On the other hand, lesbians don't risk pregnancy when having sex, so that might remove a mental barrier for them. I haven't looked into it so I can't say. We should also keep in mind that reckless behaviours (i.e. unprotected sex, drug abuse, reckless driving) are also coping mechanisms for trauma and mental illness, which occur more frequently in homosexuals compared to heterosexuals.
But yes, I do feel like there is some hypocrisy going on, especially because some of the ''lesbians'' on radblr have a sexual history with men themselves lol. They also oppose the Church's approach to homosexuality whilst they themselves use the exact same argument in the other direction (''Just because you're attracted to men doesn't mean you have to act on it'')

one of the consequences of the recent shift in the public perception of jews and power that i think a lot of people are gonna miss is that even for the most blue pilled normie boomer, the idea that jews in nazi germany were just some random ethnic minority they scapegoated is irrefutably destroyed, the average person now perceives jews at the very least as a powerful group and that perception is cast back onto their understanding of history, it undermines a key pillar of the jewish lie, this holocaust narrative cannot be overstated in its importance to satan, as it provided the moral justification for equating simple prejudice with mass murder, so what the holocaust myth did was morally equate having preconceived notions based on race with mass cold blooded murder its hard for a modern westerner to even imagine a world in which blatant racism was seen as just “rude” instead of the ultimate unforgivable sin, yet this was the mode of the entire earth for literally thousands of years, we are living in a STRANGE time, if i cant convince you its an evil time, it should suffice to convince you of the strangeness of the times at the very least. if you own a bible, i suggest you search meticulously for passages railing against fucking young girls, sex BEFORE marriage, drug use, racism, sexism, homophobia etc. you will come away wanting, it doesnt matter if you are a christian im merely trying to impress upon you the strangeness of our current times, you could do the same for the quran, the torah, whatever ancient book of wisdom you want and you will find nothing even resembling the moral framework we are currently operating under, its a completely modern jewish invention, it is the work of the devil himself.
the premarital sex thing you may find some examples of if you dont understand the original meanings of fornication and adultery which as time progressed began to be used interchangeably, but i am completely convinced that adultery used to mean in the sexual context exactly what it means in other contexts its a commandment for the ancient israelites (modern europeans) not to race mix with the surrounding tribes, and if you have read the old testament you will quickly find that marriage and sex are the same thing, many of the patriarchs were “married” to their wives in beds and tents, you will find no example of one of them waiting for some ceremony before consumating their marriage the concept of this didnt even exist at the time, once you fucked you were married, extra marrital sex was fornication, the original meaning of adultery is as i described but slowly over time it became synonymous with fornication even by the time of jesus ministery so that didnt happen recently.   think of flour and granulated sugar, if you are making a cake, you will marry these two ingredients which just means to mix them together to make them as one “what gad has made one let not man make twian” and with that same cake baking analogy, lets say while you were making your cake and you had a bowl of sugar, a salt shaker should spill and pour into the sugar, well now the sugar has become ADULTERATED by salt, meaning they have mixed but they do not mix well, one ingredient has polluted the other. in the modern usage of the term adultery, the universal definition of adultery is sort of meaningless, i believe they just became synonymous and i think that when the israelites disobeyed gods command against adultery (race mixxing) and took wives from their defeated enemies and became like them and adopted their abominable ways like child sacrifice, they sought to actively muddle the meaning of adultery and conflate it with fornication to obfuscate the sinful nature of what they had done.as far as the fucking young girls thing goes a lot of people will take issue with that and i get it, but you dont understand, the most common age of consent laws in history where they can be found put the age of consent at puberty, literally thirteen years old in most instances sometimes 12, but fucking a 13 year old and leaving her would permenantly damage her right? the same is true for a 25 year old a 30 year old etc, they are damaged by promiscuity, but none are damaged if they are kept as wives.
the times we are living in ARE evil, but they are as strange as they are evil. their is a time for everything under the sun my brothers and sisters and christ, even a time to kill, even a time for war. i do it for she

Effective Ways To Get More Out Of Injections For Ivf Treatment.
Assuming you are thinking about IVF treatment, you have gained noteworthy headway in your fruitfulness process. IVF, or in-vitro preparation, is a helped conceptive strategy that assists couples with understanding their fantasy about having a child.
This method includes giving different infusions to the lady to assist the body with preparing hormonally to sustain and convey a child. An overwhelming inquiry frequently posed is, "what number of infusions for IVF treatment?" One mature egg will be delivered per cycle as a feature of a lady's standard feminine cycle. To improve the probability of fruitful IVF, richness experts mean to gather the most eggs in a solitary round. The IVF infusions plan is an essential piece of the treatment.
Tumblr media
Before the IVF methodology starts, ripeness specialists will choose the term, portion, and chemical prerequisites in light of blood tests and ultrasonography and decide the measurements and timetable of IVF chemical infusions.
Peruse on to figure out more about the technique, find solutions to questions like the number of injections for IVF treatment, and that's just the beginning. Our specialists at Omya Richness will devise a treatment plan for you, remembering the intriguing symptoms of IVF infusions, and illuminate you about the equivalent.
1. What's the IVF method?
During IVF , mature eggs are gathered from ovaries and treated by sperm in an IVF lab.
The progressions in sex chemicals that happen during pregnancy and labor are the principal motivation for the plan of the IVF strategy. The IVF methodology requires a set IVF infusions timetable and steady observing at each stage, which is crucial.
The accompanying advances contain the IVF cycle:
Stage 1: Requirements for beginning an IVF cycle
Ultrasound
Blood board test
Evaluating for irresistible illnesses
Assessing the uterine covering
Stage 2: Concealment of Ovulation and Creating Egg Follicles
Contingent upon the convention concluded by your primary care physician on Day 1 of your period, your ripeness expert will endorse drug to direct the feminine cycle and time it with your richness treatment. On Day 21, you will begin taking medicine that invigorates the ovaries and forestalls ovulation. We allude to this cycle as ovarian concealment. Accordingly, during the month to month cycle, the ovaries make various mature follicles instead of only one.
Your primary care physician will do a check to guarantee that ovulation has been stifled. The lady hence starts involving drugs for ovarian feeling what start on day 2 of your period and are given continously for 9-10 days infusions are by and large recombinant FSH which are given by a minuscule needle in subcutaneous fat of stomach. Your egg size is observed at regular intervals alongside blood test to see your reaction to feeling and your infusions portion might be adjusted.
Stage 3: Groundwork for the egg recovery
A hCG infusion will be allowed exactly a day and a half before the egg recovery. This medication advances the follicles' arrival of eggs. The achievement pace of the IVF cycle is intensely dependent on this system, which is known as the trigger shot. Since the eggs will deliver 38 hours after the trigger shot, time is urgent for this shot. It is accordingly crucial for assemble them before they rise up out of the ovaries.
Stage 4: Egg recovery
The genuine egg recovery process is a fast, negligibly intrusive surgery and will be organized before the lady gets the trigger shot to ensure fitting synchronization since timing is urgent for this treatment. The egg recovery and sperm recovery are commonly finished around the same time in the event that the male accomplice is giving the sperm.
Subsequent to being recovered, the eggs are taken to an office where embryologists will grade and test them. The embryologist will decide the exact amount of solid, suitable eggs they will work with.
Stage 5: Treatment
Much of the time, egg preparation is achieved by putting the eggs in a petri dish containing the sperm. Treatment can likewise be achieved by the ICSI (Intracytoplasmic Sperm Infusion) system. In this method, the sperm test is utilized to segregate the most practical sperm and utilized .
To help the chances of origination, a solitary feasible sperm is embedded into the egg. Since only one sound sperm is expected for preparation, the ICSI approach is incredibly gainful, particularly when there are male elements of barrenness.
Stage 6: Preparation with IVF
Not long after being recuperated or defrosted, eggs are treated in an extraordinary lab office
Stage 7: Incipient organism culture and move
After undeveloped organisms are made, they are developed in an IVF office for 3 to 5 days. Coming up next is the IVF incipient organism arrangement course of events:
Day 1-3:The undeveloped organisms are refined in a medium that is like the liquid in the fallopian tubes. The undeveloped organisms are then positioned in another culture medium that recreates the climate encompassing the uterus.
Day 4-6:
The undeveloped organisms are then refined for a couple of days by the IVF expert until they arrive at the blastocyst stage.
Move of blastocyst-stage undeveloped organisms: Despite the fact that undeveloped organisms on day 3 might have started to separate, they just have 6 to 8 cells. Incipient organisms, then again, have around 80 to 120 cells by day 5 to 6. Subsequently, moving blastocysts as of now enjoys various benefits as opposed to relocating incipient organisms at the day 2 to 3 phase. The primary benefit is they are fitting for pre-implantation hereditary tests (PGT-M/PGT-A) and adds to the IVF cycle's prosperity rate.
Stage 7: Setting up the Uterus Covering
In the mean time, the day after the egg recovery, the lady starts progesterone infusions to support the uterine coating and sets it up for the presentation of undeveloped organisms into the body. This supplement is for 14 to 21 days following the incipient organism move.
Stage 8: Move of Embryo(s)
The incipient organism move happens 3 to 5 days following the incipient organism move. The incipient organism move process is like intrauterine insemination (IUI). It takes around 15 to 20 minutes and doesn't need sedation.
During this method, the specialist will embed a little, adaptable catheter through the cervix into the uterus. The embryo(s) are embedded subsequent to being moved straightforwardly into the uterus. From that point onward, she ought to rest for something like 30 minutes prior to being permitted to return home.

The culture of Personality, or why extraverts are praised and introverts shamed
Tumblr media
Did your parents tell you in childhood that you should be more sociable and friendly? Did your teachers describe you as ‘’a closed and shy child''? Some of you may have been sent to a psychologist's office in order to ‘’expand your personality’’ and ‘’help you to build a connection with others’’. You may wonder why I ask you, but the truth is I also experienced these things.
My parents told me that I should spend less time with books and more with other children. I was asked why I didn't have a lot of friends and then told that it was because of my character. As soon as I didn't like to chat with others, my classmates thought I was weird. Just because I preferred to read and spend time in libraries than at parties, I was called a ''nerd''. Sounds familiar? You are not alone, though.
I’m an introvert and I admitted this many years ago, whereas my parents, teachers and acquaintances did not. Isn't it strange that a shy person asks to change himself whereas talkative ones don't? Many times I have asked myself, what is wrong with me, but it never turned out to be anything. Instead, there is something wrong with the world.
Tumblr media
‘’Extraverts are the bliss of our culture, introverts are crazy and weird’’. According to this claim, parents treat their children, coworkers — their colleagues, and partners — each other. I did some research and now I may tell you that I found the root of this thinking. Everything began with the development of Personality.
In society there was a popular concept of Character until the 1950s: people praised discipline and honour, modesty and morality. The right way to seem smart was to keep silent, don’t speak too much and ‘’do’’ instead of ‘’talk.’’ But then a cultural landscape has changed because of urbanisation and immigration. Thousands of people had moved to cities, and all of them needed a job. People started to think that in order to get a job they should be funny and charming. Here's how the concept of Personality was born.
Tumblr media
One of the first to promote extraversion was Dale Carnegie. In his works he taught how to impress people and ‘’make them your friends’’, how to force them to do what you want ad so on. We should understand that Carnegie’s philosophy was not only an answer to society’s need for extraversion, but he was the one who developed this need.
At first, the Extraversion Madness affected only workplaces. For instance, entrepreneurs started to hire not the smartest people, but the most friendly and sociable. Therefore, both men and women wanted to make an impression on companies' owners, so they literally learnt to ‘’sell’’ themselves. Rather than focus on modesty and thorough labor, people focused on how others perceived themselves. The extravert became a new sex symbol of the era, as today it is rock stars and online bloggers. Everyone wanted to be bold and entertaining, funny and energetic.
Tumblr media
Therefore, extraversion entered the media, houses and schools. An advertisement praised extroversion, self-help books taught you charm and charisma, and thus, it became a widespread trend. A shy guy was described as ''gay'', and a shy girl as ''frigid''. Doctors healed shyness and even invented a specific term for introverts, ‘’the inferiority complex’’. Being quiet became unacceptable and if you lacked social skills, you remained by yourself in shame. You were called a sensitive and neurotic nerd.
Certainly, many people couldn’t bear such a pressure for long and soon there were rises in anxiety disorders and depressions. Pharmaceutical companies saw the chance to earn money and invented anti-anxiety drugs, for example, Miltown. It is funny, but this drug’s advertisement was shamelessly straight and claimed that their drug would allow you ''to fit into places you do not fit’’.
Tumblr media
That's how extraversion became a cult. Later there were Tony Robbins and other guys who promised to heal your broken self and make you a ''positive'' and ''open'' person. Unfortunately, in today’s world the prejudices toward introverts still remain strong, and they are still called awkward and weird.
However, before you make an opinion about anyone, I encourage you to ask yourself, "Why am I assuming a quiet person as weird?" Who taught me to think like that? Why do I think that only talkative people are worthwhile?''. If you don’t find the answer, re-read this text, please.

Hi dear! I’m not too sure if this is too specific or odd for you to write, but if not may I request Vincent comforting his pregnant s/o after Bo makes a rude comment about their baby bump size? Thank you so much and take care 💕
Anon, I'd love to do more 'mature' kind of stuff like pregnancy and other related kinks -Lactation kink and such- This fic is just fluff though! Take care of yourself and thank you! 🐇💕
Vincent Sinclair x Female Reader (Pregnant Reader)
Underthecut - Fluff, Angst, Jonesy being a good girl, Pregnancy stuff, Bo being a dick, Mentions of Killing and noncon (Brief and not with the reader)
"You know, I wouldn't doubt if half of that bump was from all that food you've been eatin." Bo snarked as he caught you mid-waddle down the streets of Ambrose with Jonesy in tow.
Jonesy whined and gave Bo a soft ruff. Her wet nose tickled your fingers.
You froze. Shoulders slumped as you spoke with a vulnerable tone, "I'm pregnant you backwoods bastard." The tears welled up, bottom lip trembled as he shuffled back to the house of wax.
Bo hollered out to you, "Aw, c'mon, sweetpea! I'm just messin around!" Jonesy, tell er!"
Jonesy barked and growled at Bo as you two made your way up the street.
Every sniffle and tear made you feel like shit as if you didn't already. "Thanks, Jonesy." You patted her head, "God, your uncle sure is a dick. And he's basically my stupid brother-in-law"
You broke out into a sob, Jonesy pressed her weight against your legs, her whines telling you she understood. Might not fully understand why you were upset, but upset nonetheless.
---------------------------
Vincent busied himself with his latest creation, a teddy. He wanted it to be perfect. It was for her firstborn child after all, and that little munchkin deserved the best.
The best...
He pounded, a slight frown as he sat back in his chair. Could he give the best? Could he give his child everything their little heart desired? Realistically he knew no parent could.
It still ate away at him. Festered deep within him after the rush of excitement at the pregnancy news had worn off.
It had taken months of talking to calm him down about his appearance. Would the baby be scared of him? Screech and scream as he neared, as he neared you.
"Vincent, the baby doesn't know the concept of 'normal' They'll simply see you as their father."
He wanted to cry when you spoke those words to him.
He wasn't usually soft, years all walls being put up made him cold and calculating. No one was to tear them down.
No one but you.
"Vincent, stop worrying. Things will work out, you and Bo have been at this whole thing for years now. Sure a Baby is hard work but, we can do it."
More words replayed in his head,
"You know, Vince, I'm just as nervous. I too worry if I'll be good enough."
He cursed himself, he wished he could verbally to you just how amazing you'll be. How beautiful you look pregnant and how much more you'll look while carrying the baby in your arms.
He knows you'll look pregnant while you breastfeed, how naturally it will come to you. How the baby will cry when out of your arms.
Prayed the baby would never cry in his arms. Prayed you were right and the baby just saw him as a dad. Not some freak.
"The mask will scare him, Vince. So don't wear it around the baby!"
Vincent shook his head, snapped his attention back to the little teddy bear he was working on.
It had beige fur with buttons for eyes. Two blue-coloured buttons to match his eyes. A white snout with a sewn-in pink nose. It had a little black side smile, like the one you gave him when you were being smart with him.
Vincent perked up, the sound of his two favourite girls entering through the basement door elated him.
"Vincent?"
his heart stopped as your wobbly voice carried down the stairs.
"Vincent, I need you."
Vincent moved quicker than he could have imagined. A hand ran over Jonesy as he dashed up the stairs to place his large hand on your belly.
"Is...it...time?" He coughed as he held a powerless look. His heart sank as he watched the tears freely flow from your eyes, down your delicate cheeks.
"No, it was," A hiccup and a long sniffle, "Bo. He implied I looked fat!"
You collapsed into Vincent's arm with an audible thud, your heavy sobs muffled as you buried your face into his chest.
Vincent rolled his one eye and scooped you up. He bit his lip, his unscared cheek went pink as his chest rumbled.
He set you down on the bed next to Jonesy. He playfully shook his head as he looked down at you.
"What? Go kick his ass!"
Vincent clenched his chest, a wide smile, soft huffs from his mouth, he was laughing, to the best of his ability.
"It's not funny, Vince! You don't say that to a pregnant lady!"
He knew you were right, Bo shouldn't have said it. Was still funny how your hormones got the best of you. Normally if Bo would say such a thing to you, it would turn into a full-on verbal showdown.
Vincent sat behind you on the bed, pulled you into his chest, rested his chin on your shoulder as he pulled up the large t-shirt you wore. His. To rub your swollen belly.
You shifted uncomfortably as his fingers traced over your stretch marks. A slight whimper as his free arm wrapped itself around your chest, "Vinny, those are sore too," You gestured towards your breasts.
"M..sorry." He eased up but kept your firm against him.
His gentle strokes on your tummy, a figure pattern on your large baby bump had you sigh, your muscles eased as you shimmied closer in his arms.
The heat rose to your face, "Thanks, Vinny." You kissed his cheek, "I'm not fat?"
He coughed in an attempt to chuckle, "No...You...look beautiful."
----------------------------
"Hey," You shuffled around Jonsey, an impromptu dance as you kept giggling when she pushed her snout under your large shirt. Her wet, cold nose on your sensitive skin making you shriek and jump. "I think she's excited for the baby!"
Vincent sat on the large rock outside, his sketchbook in hand, the charcoal dusting his fingers as he captured the scene in front of him.
Each stroke was careful, each tiny detail was deliberate.
The way you moved in tandem with Jonesy was captured on the worn page.
"Well?" You shot him a look before you screamed, Jonesy's wet nose making contact with your belly. "You think she's excited or what?"
His smile made your chest tingle, your heartbeat out of synch for a few beats.
"You excited to meet your baby sister or brother?" Jonesy sneezed, her tail whipped about like a weed wacker gone loose. Her brown eyes held a warmth to them.
That was it.
Vincent worked furiously on the page, the way his two favourite girls shared a moment made his creativity course through him.
He silently cursed Bo. This would be a perfect opportunity to captured these moments on camera. But, "Hey, I need a momento of me and this blonde!" If momento he meant a porno slash snuff film...well fuck him then.
Maybe it was fair. He did hog the camera. From making Sex tapes with you, from basic sex to one long video of him drugging you and dressing you up. Many videos featuring the aftermath of his kills.
"Vincent!"
your voice snapped him out of his recollection.
"Vincent!" The way you joyously called to him as Jonsey greedily kissed your tummy with her nose had him carefully set down the sketchbook. "You better get over here!"
He grabbed you, you back against his chest as he held up your bump. The way he sighed and leaned back told him the action was appreciated. But, it held you in place and, allowed Jonesy to give you all the kisses she wanted.
"Vincent!"

Do you think one could follow the Jedi Code/Lifestyle in real life as a positive manner of living or do you think it only works in Star Wars? I asked this on r/Mawinstallation and the answers I got were either:
''The Jedi code is oppressive so no'' ( this was the most upvoted answer )
''The Jedi code works but only for the Jedi''
''The Jedi code requires the force to work and since the force doesn't exist in the real world, the code cannot work''
And finally, I got only a single reply that said
''Yes, the Jedi code does work in real life, that's the entire point of Star Wars''.
What is your take on this?
This is going to be sort of a long, roundabout answer, but the short version is: In the finer details, we're not space psychics, but as a general idea? Yes. First of all, what even IS the Jedi Code?  Are we talking about the whole “there is no emotion, there is peace”/”emotion, yet peace” meditation mantra, which we should point out is nowhere in the movies or TV shows, but is entirely in the novels and comics supplementary material?  Are we talking about a more generalized idea of Jedi philosophy?  And what, precisely, does that mean?  I mean, what’s oppressive about it and what scene evidences that that’s what the Jedi taught? Second, there are two talks that George Lucas gave that I think really illustrate this view of emotional navigation and how that impacts Star Wars and the Force: There’s the writers meeting of The Clone Wars where he talks about the light side and the dark side and there’s an Academy of Achievement Speech from 2013 where he talks about joy vs pleasure:     “Happiness is pleasure and happiness is joy. It can be either one, you add them up and it can be the uber category of happiness.     “Pleasure is short lived. It lasts an hour, it lasts a minute, it lasts a month. It peaks and then it goes down–it peaks very high, but the next time you want to get that same peak you have to do it twice as much. It’s like drugs, you have to keep doing it because it insulates itself. No matter what it is, whether you’re shopping or you’re engaged in any other kind of pleasure. It all has the same quality about it.     “On the other hand is joy and joy is the thing that doesn’t go as high as pleasure, in terms of your emotional reaction. But it stays with you. Joy is something you can recall, pleasure you can’t.  So the secret is that, even though it’s not as intense as pleasure, the joy will last you a lot longer.     “People who get the pleasure they keep saying, ‘Well, if I can just get richer and get more cars–!’ You’ll never relive the moment you got your first car, that’s it, that’s the highest peak. Yes, you could get three Ferraris and a new gulf stream jet and maybe you’ll get close. But you have to keep going and eventually you’ll run out.  You just can’t do it, it doesn’t work.     “If you’re trying to sustain that level of peak pleasure, you’re doomed. It’s a very American idea, but it just can’t happen. You just let it go. Peak.  Break. Pleasure is fun it’s great, but you can’t keep it going forever.     “Just accept the fact that it’s here and it’s gone, and maybe again it’ll come back and you’ll get to do it again. Joy lasts forever. Pleasure is purely self-centered. It’s all about your pleasure, it’s about you. It’s a selfish self-centered emotion, that’s created by self-centered motive of greed.     “Joy is compassion, joy is giving yourself to somebody else or something else. And it’s the kind of thing that is in it’s subtlty and lowness more powerful than pleasure.  If you get hung up on pleasure you’re doomed. If you pursue joy you will find everlasting happiness.”  –George Lucas And how I like to compare that to The Hijacking of the American Mind by Robert Lustig, MD, MSL, which is a book about how corporations have hijacked our pleasure centers to make us focused on reward over pleasure.  It talks about the exact same concepts, with only slight word adjustments, but otherwise might as well be verbatim: “At this point it’s essential to define and clarify what I mean by these two words—pleasure and happiness—which can mean different things to different people.     “Merriam-Webster’s Dictionary defines “pleasure” as “enjoyment or satisfaction derived from what is to one’s liking”; or “gratification”; or “reward.” While “pleasure” has a multitude of synonyms, it is this phenomenon of reward that we will explore, as scientists have elaborated a specific “reward pathway” in the brain, and we now understand the neuroscience of its regulation. Conversely, “happiness” is defined as “the quality or state of being happy”; or “joy”; or “contentment.” While there are many synonyms for “happiness,” it is the phenomenon that Aristotle originally referred to as eudemonia, or the internal experience of contentment, that we will parse in this book. Contentment is the lowest baseline level of happiness, the state in which it’s not necessary to seek more. In the movie Lovers and Other Strangers (1970), middle-aged married couple Beatrice Arthur and Richard Castellano were asked the question “Are you happy?”—to which they responded, “Happy? Who’s happy? We’re content.” Scientists now understand that there is a specific “contentment pathway” that is completely separate from the pleasure or reward pathway in the brain and under completely different regulation. Pleasure (reward) is the emotional state where your brain says, This feels good—I want more, while happiness (contentment) is the emotional state where your brain says, This feels good—I don’t want or need any more.     “Reward and contentment are both positive emotions, highly valued by humans, and both reasons for initiative and personal betterment. It’s hard to be happy if you derive no pleasure for your efforts—but this is exactly what is seen in the various forms of addiction. Conversely, if you are perennially discontent, as is so often seen in patients with clinical depression, you may lose the impetus to better your social position in life, and it’s virtually impossible to derive reward for your efforts. Reward and contentment rely on the presence of the other. Nonetheless, they are decidedly different phenomena. Yet both have been slowly and mysteriously vanishing from our global ethos as the prevalence of addiction and depression continues to climb.     “Drumroll … without further ado, behold the seven differences between reward and contentment: Reward is short-lived (about an hour, like a good meal). Get it, experience it, and get over it. Why do you think you can’t remember what you ate for dinner yesterday? Conversely, contentment lasts much longer (weeks to months to years). It’s what happens when you have a working marriage or watch your teenager graduate from high school. And if you experience contentment from a sense of achievement or purpose, the chances are that you will feel it for a long time to come, perhaps even the rest of your life.Reward is visceral in terms of excitement (e.g., a casino, a football game, or a strip club). It activates the body’s fight-or-flight system, which causes blood pressure and heart rate to go up. Conversely, contentment is ethereal and calming (e.g., listening to soothing music or watching the waves of the ocean). It makes your heart rate slow and your blood pressure decline.       - “ Reward can be achieved with different substances (e.g., heroin, nicotine, cocaine, caffeine, alcohol, and of course sugar). Each stimulates the reward center of the brain. Some are legal, some are not. Conversely, contentment is not achievable with substance use. Rather, contentment is usually achieved with deeds (like graduating from college or having a child who can navigate his or her own path in life).       - “Reward occurs with the process of taking (like from a casino). Gambling is definitely a high: when you win, it is fundamentally rewarding, both viscerally and economically. But go back to the same table the next day. Maybe you’ll feel a jolt of excitement to try again. But there’s no glow, no lasting feeling from the night before. Or go buy a nice dress at Macy’s. Then try it on again a month later. Does it generate the same enthusiasm? Conversely, contentment is often generated through giving (like giving money to a charity, or giving your time to your child, or devoting time and energy to a worthwhile project).       - Reward is yours and yours alone. Your sense of reward does not immediately impact anyone else. Conversely, your contentment, or lack of it, often impacts other people directly and can impact society at large. Those who are extremely unhappy (the Columbine shooters) can take their unhappiness out on others. It should be said at this point that pleasure and happiness are by no means mutually exclusive. A dinner at the Bay Area Michelin three-star restaurant the French Laundry can likely generate simultaneous pleasure for you from the stellar food and wine but can also generate contentment from the shared experience with spouse, family, or friends, and then possibly a bit of unhappiness when the bill arrives.       - Reward when unchecked can lead us into misery, like addiction. Too much substance use (food, drugs, nicotine, alcohol) or compulsive behaviors (gambling, shopping, surfing the internet, sex) will overload the reward pathway and lead not just to dejection, destitution, and disease but not uncommonly death as well. Conversely, walking in the woods or playing with your grandchildren or pets (as long as you don’t have to clean up after them) could bring contentment and keep you from being miserable in the first place.       - Last and most important, reward is driven by dopamine, and contentment by serotonin. Each is a neurotransmitter—a biochemical manufactured in the brain that drives feelings and emotions—but the two couldn’t be more different. Although dopamine and serotonin drive separate brain processes, it is where they overlap and how they influence each other that generates the action in this story. Two separate chemicals, two separate brain pathways, two separate regulatory schemes, and two separate physiological and psychological outcomes. How and where these two chemicals work, and how they work either in concert or in opposition to each other, is the holy grail in the ultimate quest for both pleasure and happiness.”                                – Robert Lustig, MD, MSL And then lets add in what Dave Filoni has said about the Force and the core themes of Star Wars:     "In the end, it’s about fundamentally becoming selfless moreso than selfish.  It seems so simple, but it’s so hard to do.  And when you’re tempted by the dark side, you don’t overcome it once in life and then you’re good.  It’s a constant.  And that’s what, really, Star Wars is about and what I think George wanted people to know.  That to be a good person and to really feel better about your life and experience life fully you have to let go of everything you fear to lose. Because then you can’t be controlled.        “But when you fear, fear is the path to the dark side, it’s also the shadow of greed, because greed makes you covet things, greed makes you surround yourself with all these things that make you feel comfortable in the moment, but they don’t really make you happy.  And then, when you’re afraid of something, it makes you angry, when you get angry, you start to hate something, sometimes you don’t even know why.  When you hate, do you often know why you hate?  No, you direct it at things and then you hate it.  And it’s hard because anger can be a strength at times, but you can’t use it in such a selfish way, it can be a destroyer then.        “These are the core things of Star Wars.“  –Dave Filoni So, the core things of Star Wars and the Jedi teachings (because Jedi teachings are basically almost word for word how GL described how the Force works) can very much be a reflection of real world teachings and ways to live by, because all of the above are about how GL viewed the world and what he wanted to put into his movies. Further, Jedi teachings are basically just reworded Buddhism + Acceptance and Commitment Therapy.  And both of those are very livable by our real world standards, if you so choose.  GL was very much about how SW had themes that were meant to be picked up on by the audience and even DF has said this:  “ Jedi have the ability to turn the tide, to make a significant moment, to give hope where there’s none.  That’s their ultimate role to play, to be this example of selflessness.  And that’s what makes them a hero, when no one else can match that heroic thing.  And then our job is to emulate that, to use that example, and further our own lives.” --Dave Filoni Ultimately, the Jedi are specifically focused on disciplining themselves (which GL has said is the only way to overcome the dark side, in that TCW writers’ meeting), probably to a degree most of us wouldn’t have the room to devote to, but that doesn’t mean that the broader strokes aren’t meant to be applicable to our lives or don’t echo real world teachings.

What do you think about the theories that Jason was sexually abused as a child? Or even possibly while he was comatose after his resurrection?
Implications of this theory include his conversation with Mia (Speedy) and Bruce's message (Battle for the Cowl). In addition, when he was Robin he expressed what was then considered uncharacteristic rage towards the perpetrators of sex crimes.
Garzonas - unrepentant rapist who got no consequences
When a woman killed her sister's rapist and murderer (because Batman's evidence was not admissible in court), Batman said that she went too far with murder. Jason's disagreed with "Good riddance". Good for you, Jason.
His recklessness when dealing with a child sex trafficking ring.
I highly doubt that DC would ever confirm this theory. I would rather they leave it ambiguous because I don't trust them to not botch Jason... much less respectfully address the subject matter.
I have read so many thoughts on Jason that they're starting to blend together. So I apologize if you've already answered this before.
Hello friend! Aside from the fact that I took way too much time to answer your ask, this was also a hard question to come up with an answer to, I wanted to remain respectful of the subjects at hand even though I don’t second this headcanon. But before we keep going, let me put some trigger warnings in this post.
trigger warning: mentions of sexual abuse, child abuse, rape.
First, I would like to bring up these two concepts because I oftentimes mix them up when talking about these “ideas”.
Theory: a supposition or a system of ideas intended to explain something; an idea used to account for a situation or justify a course of action.
Headcanon: Headcanon generally refers to ideas held by fans of series that are not explicitly supported by sanctioned text or other media. Fans maintain the ideas in their heads, outside of the accepted canon.
I think the idea of Jason having been sexually abused at any point in his lifetime is a mix between a theory and a headcanon. Why I am saying this? Because as you have put in the ask, there has been instances where fandom has found pieces of information that they have considered the base of this idea.
So, if we say that there is a piece of text that might support that idea and they build from that to justify a course of action we would be looking at a theory. In this case Jason having been abused would the reason as to why he acts in that strong and violent way towards cases of sexual abuse/harassment.
In the other hand those pieces of text might not support that idea so fandom headcanons that idea in order to build another layer to a character, in this case Jason having been abused would also justify his actions towards certain criminals.
The “text” (panels, issues, mentions) are most of the time ambiguous, which makes readers have different perspectives in what is being written and what then is made into a theory or headcanon.
Personally, I don’t like this theory or headcanon for various reasons (which I will explain later in the post), and I have read and understood those moments mentioned as Jason just having survived Crime Alley as something general, I don’t think he suffered that kind of abuse but I think he was made aware of that type of behaviour every day that he spent alone in the streets and that why we saw Jason in Batman #408 saying that he had “graduated a long time ago from the streets of crime alley”.
Having said that, I do understand that some of the moments mentioned can be seen as ambiguous and that’s what leads people to theorize/headcanon that idea, because of that I would like to show the panels mentioned in your ask so everyone can read them and make up their own conclusions and then I will talk about the reasons why I don’t like this particular theory/headcanon.
As Robin:
Batman (1940) #422
Tumblr media
In these panels we can see Jason as Robin jumping in to defend a woman that was being attacked by a man. There I only see Jason acting like a vigilante would, maybe he was hitting too hard or whatever but Batman has hit people as much as Jason was doing it this time around, plus I, personally, don’t see any kind of problem with Jason beating a man that was harassing and threatening a woman with death.
Right beside we have Jason being on the side of the woman that killed her sister’s attacker. He didn’t see any problem with that woman seeking justice for her sister on her own when the police, Batman and himself couldn’t get the job done.
Here I see Jason having a big problem with authorities and justice system, which is not something new, in Batman #408, Jason says very clearly that he doesn’t trust the system in Gotham (the police, social workers and such), and he was also shown in that comic talking very fondly about his mother and about how much he cared for her when she was at her worst. Let’s remember that Jason loved his mother, he took care of her and resented his father for being abusive towards her and even introducing her to drugs.
Instead understanding these panels as Jason having been abused himself, I see it more as Jason having a humongous understanding of how much women and others suffer in Gotham due to the justice system’s lack of action. I also see Jason as the kind of boy that respected all women and could not sit and do nothing when people were hitting and abusing women just like his father did to his mother.
Batman (1940) #424
Tumblr media Tumblr media
This issue starts by saying that Jason jumps into action as soon as he hears someone scream but that he wasn’t going to be prepared to see what was happening. This is the issue where all of us meet Felipe Garzonas, the abuser and rapist of many women. At first Jason doesn’t know what Felipe was doing but after he and Batman “defeat” Felipe, he goes to the room where he finds Gloria in a bed badly hurt and scared. Jason is shocked when he first finds her and after hearing her story in the police station, he becomes more and more happy about the fact that by having caught Felipe, he and Batman would be able to offer some peace and justice to Gloria after he goes to jail, but that doesn’t happen.
They had all the evidence to put Felipe in jail and the police could easily see that Gloria was the victim but because Felipe had someone to back his made-up story up, he was able to not be arrested and jailed.
Jason once again is baffled at the lack of action by the police or simply justice not being able to be made in favour of the true victim. Batman even says that he has noticed that Jason “had become to emotionally invested with the case” which could favour either idea (Jason having suffered sexual abuse or not), in my case I see this once again as Jason not being able to remain calm after doing everything to keep that woman safe and the justice system not being able to do it themselves in a more permanent way (jail time, or whatever).
But that’s not all because Jason being too emotional with that case was brought up as a way to show that Jason couldn’t see that Felipe had been under the influence of drugs, which is something that Jason can see in people very well (do to experience with his mother and his training with Batman). So, Felipe is now a rapist, an abuser, he does drugs and he also has a market for it.
Because Felipe was allowed to go back to his “normal” life he had Gloria be killed, and he kept abusing drugs and women, when Jason finds Gloria’s dead body and that Batman still seems to abide the justice system he snaps. He goes alone to see Felipe and that’s were this iconic panel comes from. The moments before Jason made his first kill and felt no remorse about it. I know this is kinda soft topic because Jason was a teenager, but good for him, kill that bitch. Gotham doesn’t need more people like him.
Tumblr media
Batman (1940) #226
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
This is the issue where Jason attacks the men that were involved with some very nasty stuff involving children. Batman narrates and says that him and Jason had been working on this case for three weeks. Jason jumps into action suddenly and “recklessly” even though Batman considered their investigation wasn’t over, he also says that he thinks that Jason had been “acting oddly” and that he was very “moody, resentful and reckless” and that that attitude could “get him killed”.
This could be used as to add more proof of the abuse idea but I actually see it as build up to Jason’s death, that happened two issues later. Let’s remember that Jason found out of his birth mother and was desperate to find and save her from Joker, because he was a good son but also because he didn’t feel like Bruce loved, cared or appreciated him anymore. Ever since Jason made it clear that he didn’t see the world and justice in the same way that Batman did back in issue #422, Jason and Bruce’s relationship suffered, they just couldn’t see eye to eye on some subjects and Bruce’s neglect or lack of care for what Jason believed in drove Jason to act the way he did in the case involving his mother and the Joker.
Jason obviously has major issues with kids being abused and put in dangerous situations, he as the Red Hood (Winick’s Red Hood) is the same, he really wants kids to be taken far away from drugs so they cannot be manipulated, used and abused by Gotham’s Drug Lords. Here I can see some of the same thing, Jason being protective of those kids and getting fed up with how much time he and Batman had to wait to do anything about the subject, along side it I bet Jason wasn’t seeing the police or the justice system doing anything about the whole thing so that could have probably fuelled his desperate attack of those horrible people.
As Batman/Red Hood:
Batman: Battle for the Cowl #3
Tumblr media
Battle for the Cowl… yeah I am going to be brutally honest about this, if anyone thinks that this is someway or somehow proof that Jason had been abused in the past then I think we have very different ways of thinking how survivors must be treated or written in comics and other media.
This to me is pure bad writing, this is some of the worst things I have seen being written in comics. Whether or not this implies Jason being abused or not, Bruce’s message is absolutely disgusting and not at all helpful, it is even worse when you realise that Dick, a canon sexual assault survivor, is the one playing the message to Jason even though Jason explicitly said that he didn’t want to hear it again. That Book, issue, page and panel are extremely badly written and is one of the most terrible Jason and Dick characterizations ever.
So, I don’t really care if this panel is supposed to offer support to that theory or headcanon, I really dislike that speech and if it is actually referencing Jason as being a survivor of child abuse, then Tony S. Daniel needs to make an apology from today to the day he dies.
“Of all my failures, you have been my biggest” “You were broken and I thought I could put the pieces back together. I thought I could do for you what could never be done for me. Make you whole” “What happened to you as a child… the terror, the pain, the horrors” “You needed repair and instead I gave you an outlet to act out on”
Absolute garbage writing. Me, as Bruce is number one hater, know that that speech is even out of character for Bruce. Listen, if Jason had been a victim of sexual assault or just being a kid living alone in Crime Alley, no one should leave a message like that, telling a victim that they were broken and needed fixing, what the hell? No, thank you, this issue proves nothing except that Battle for the Cowl was a mistake as a whole.
Green Arrow (2001) #72
Tumblr media
Judd Winick is clever I will always say that, and while I do see why people think that Jason is making the “child abuse idea” canon I still think that the way that he talks is still fairly ambiguous if not just him playing mind games with Mia.
I know it sounds wrong, but hear me out, Winick, in this arc makes Batman say that Jason distracted him and Oliver just to take Mia as a “hostage” because that was Jason’s way to mess with him. This arc happens right after UtRH and Jason is a bit more unhinged than ever. But he doesn’t harm Mia, he just talks to her, he tries to make her see why he acts the way he does and to do that he talks about how much he sees of himself in her. Do I believe that Jason suffered the same things Mia did? No. Do I think that their past is similar? Yes.
But Jason doesn’t only use the fact that they have similar pasts to make Mia rebel against her “no killing ways” and Oliver like he did with Bruce, but he also brings up the fact that their past is incredibly different to the lives of Bruce and Oliver, and that those differences are of importance.
Tumblr media
Maybe it’s just me, but I didn’t see Jason bringing Mia’s past for anything other than manipulating her and kinda make her see Oliver in a negative light the way that he does Batman and Bruce. Jason was at a point in his life where all he wanted to do was deliver the same pain that he had gone through but he didn’t do it by physically harming anyone (Mia was left unscratched), he was just out there trying to play mind games so he could break more havoc in Batman’s name.
Mia’s past is just way too different to whatever we have seen in canon from Jason’s past. Maybe I am wrong, after all, I only read about Mia in that arc.
-
With all that having been said I think it’s pretty obvious that I just don’t think that Jason’ having been sexually abused as a child actually happened, and I also don’t like to think about his past in that way. His canon suffering could have made him act that violently against criminals involved with sexual attacks and drug-related crimes, but I also think that’s just how Jason was, he really disliked the justice system in Gotham and saw how much it failed to protect victims, so now that he had the training to help those who couldn’t do it for themselves, he tried his best to bring criminals to justice.
And when that didn’t work, he grew more and more frustrated with Batman’s methods which led him to be more unforgiving and violent.
I also don’t like the theory/headcanon as a whole because I think its one of those things that Fandom comes up with just for that extra angst factor in their favourite character’s story so they can make him suffer more and because of that no other Robin or character as a whole can ever understand his pain or whatever. In this fandom there is a lot of “competitive trauma” going on and I honestly dislike it a lot.
About Jason having been assaulted while he was in a coma, I don't really know, he was at a hospital for what I believe were six moths, maybe that idea comes from real life happenings but I have never thought of that happening in Jason's life and I would rather not give it much more thought.
Also, I believe that DC just like fandom would have never been able to handle the subject of Jason having been a sexual assault survivor with the respect and care that it actually needs. We have seen DC treat sexual harassment and abuse as nothing but a side plot or bringing it up in an extremely disturbing way. In Fandom some (very few) people end up glamorising or romanticising these subjects so, I don’t believe the comic world was or is ready to treat a backstory like this with the respect it needs.
Maybe I haven’t even treated the subject with the respect and care that it needs and if that’s the case then I am truly sorry.
I had never answered a question regarding this subject before and I really appreciate all the questions you send my way; they do make my brain happy. I am really sorry it took me this long to write an answer to you but I hope the post is good enough for all the time I made you wait!
I hope you have an amazing week!

oi, march reads! I read a lot this month.
Please, don’t forget to leave a comment or kudos for the authors of these fics!
(The texts aren't the summary, just my ramble thoughts.)
Loving Cannibalism by glittering_git/@glittering-git (Mature, 2 works, 952 words) | Post-War, Angst, Established Relationship
Two marvellous and poetic histories about (loving) cannibalism. This is such a dark and heavy theme but the author does a great job writing and makes me enjoy reading them. (And I'm definitely here for more.)
(Please, read the Author's Tags.)
don’t say you love me, that’s extortion by LowerEastSide/@lower-east-side (Explicit, 1k) | Post-War, Angst, Fluff, Established Relationship
It is a domestic and loving and little sad history – about not saying 'I love you' but acting in that way.
The Pink Paradox by vina_writes/@dracothecupcake (Teen and Up, 1k) | Post-War, Humor, Auror Harry, Unspeakable Draco
Harry Potter Is Obsessed With Draco Malfoy TM. And Draco has pink hair. Have a fun time!
Harry's Promise by JosephineStone (Teen and Up, 2k) | Post-War, Angst, Reunion, Established Relationship
This one it's kind of part two of Circumpolar. The history continues the consequences of Draco's change, after the war – left me with a warm heart.
Burnt Casserole by Samunderthelights/@samunderthelights (General Audiences, 2k) | Post-War, Fluff, Established Relationship
Nervous Draco for Meeting Ron and Hermione. Getting back together and meeting your boyfriend's friends (who may hate you) showing them your (not) great cooking abilities.
Magical Homes, and Where to Find Them (in the arms of your lover) by Erebeus/@erebeus-roxy (General Audiences, 2k) | Post-War, Emotional Hurt/Comfort, Established Relationship
Who doesn't want some fluff established relationship sometimes? Harry has a painful case at work and then comes home to a calm and domestic night with his husband.
Together Like This by shealwaysreads/@shealwaysreads (Explicit, 3k) | Post-War, Getting Back Together
Draco Malfoy in the Muggle World TM. I find it so interesting reading stories where Draco denies Harry's love because of the war, and Harry is there to change his mind. Here we have that and it's written the super talented shealwaysreads.
For Old Times' Sake by thestarryknight/@the-starryknight (Teen and Up, 3k) | Post-War, Drugs, Potioneer Draco, Artist Harry
This one gives me such a cosy and domestic vibe. "'It's Complicated' is their relationship status" resume perfect what this fic is. (There're some cool references too, so pay attention.)
Like Gold by The_Sinking_Ship/@the-sinking-ship (Explicit, 4k) | Post-War, PWP
(It's always good to see.) Harry Has a Motorbike Just Like Sirius! Harry rides a motorbike and Draco rides him.
Harry and Draco's Little Talk by Ladderofyears (Teen and Up, 5k) | Post-War, Angst, Established Relationship, mpreg
Who doesn't hear 'I need to talk to you' by someone you like and run with? Harry thinks Draco will break up with him and freak (a little) out but maybe the subject of Draco's conversation is quite the opposite.
Sugar Sweet by The_Sinking_Ship/@the-sinking-ship (Teen and Up, 5k) | Post-War, Humor, Fluff, Auror Harry, Healer Draco
It is a very sweet story with a surprise party for Draco and Harry getting late but not so late.

All I have to say is: 😳😯🤫😈🔥🥵🔥🥵😈😏!
This Is How by bixgirl1/@bixgirl1 (Explicit, 6k) | Post-War, Fluff, Friends to Lovers, a/b/o
Omega Draco has an incident in the ministry Alpha Harry is there to help. After they fall in love! (One more reason to read: it's written by bixgirl1!)
It Never Occurred to Me That I Would Fall in Love With a Frenchman by lamerezouille/@elsalapizza (Teen and Up, 6k) | Post-War, Angst, Humor, Established Relationship
OMG, I never read something like this! The plot was so surprising – you will ever think about the Malfoys meeting the Dursleys? BOOM! Here it's a very awkward dinner that looks funny but has some depth stuff going on.
Litany by thistle_verse/@thistle-verse (Mature, 7k) | Post-War, Angst, Pandemic, Isolation, Touch-Starved, Ghost Draco
Ghost's story isn't my cup of tea, but I give this one a chance and don't regret it. The magic world is passing through a pandemic (just like us!), Harry is doing quarantine at home alone until ghost Draco, directly from Azkaban, shows up. Then, we have fluffy and sad conversations between the two and a turn of events in the end. (And lots of lists.)
As the Crow Flies by thestarryknight/@the-starryknight (Mature, 7k) | Post-War, Hurt/Comfort, Established Relationship, Animagus Draco, Werewolf Harry
Draco helps Harry on a full moon night. Domestic vibes with some angst. 10/10!
Circumpolar by LowerEastSide/@lower-east-side (Teen and Up, 8k) | Hogwarts Era, Angst, Sectumsempra Scars
I see an amazing fanart and spend some days obsessed with Draco having worse scars from Sectumsempra. (There's, in this list, another two fanfics with this concept.) In this one, because of the pretty bad scars Draco's plan about the war change – is interesting to imagine how one incident could put another thing in perspective for him. And Draco and Harry have a touching conversation on the Astronomy Tower! (I'm a sucker for long expressive conversations about feelings.)
if somebody’s there, then tell me who. by kryptidfox/@kryptidfoxwrites (Explicit, 11k) | Post-War, Fluff, Friends to Lovers, Housemates
Much more like Idiots to Lovers! Draco has a disastrous way to make Harry notice him – bring every man possible to a one-night stand then call their name very loud – until things go wrong when he brings a guy named Harry. I constantly have a good time reading these two making dumb thing in their path to be together.
Commander by Cassiopeias_shadow/@cassiopeiasshadow (Explicit, 14k) | Post-War, Horror, Suspense, Drugs, Animagi, Auror Harry, Light dom/sub
Almost a case fic with dark things in the plot. Draco is addicted to potions and in a pretty bad place when he has a chance to help the auros in a big case. It turns out that Draco got so much involved with the case he needed Harry, to make him put his feet on the ground – the fine line between doing everything to make up for your past or lost yourself doing things for the great good. Featuring: Harry as a snake and parselmouth kink.
(Please, read the Author's tags.)
Fire and Wonder by Lomonaaeren (Mature, 15k) | Post-War, Dark-ish, Veela

Keep Me Close (I Need Your Faith) by aviforsrose (Explicit, 23k) | Post-War, Angst, Friends with Benefits, Light dom/sub
Idiots in love! The old same GOOD story: I love him but he loves me? Yes, of course! Man, you two have been pinning each other for years now. Let's do some love confessions.
The Critiquer by dysonrules (Explicit, 24k) | Post-War, Humor, Romance, Secret Identity
Drunk Harry doing dumb stuff with Seamus and Dean, take him a very funny drive to Draco's hearty. Draco and his assistant interactions was another very humorous part. Can't forget to congratulate who made all of the edits, principally the text divisors.
The Nobility of Ascent by Lomonaaeren (Explicit, 27k) | Post-War, Angst, Politics
I love reading Lomonaaeren stories with dark-ish Harry. This is another great example of just not the good or evil side. Harry can't Make a Better World because of pureblood politics so he goes to Draco for help.
Can I tell you something? by GallaPlacidia (Not Rated, 33k) | Post-War, Angst, Enemies to Friends to Lovers, Sectumsempra Scars, Drugs, Auror Harry, Burlesquedance Draco

Turning Leaves by Kbrick (Explicit, 112k) | Post-War, Angst, Fluff, Time Travel, Auror Harry, Unspeakable Draco
Draco Tries to Concert His Friendship With Harry by Time Travel. This gives me The Cursed Child vibe but so much better, Draco goes to several scenarios trying to change one important moment in the past to make Harry like-like now. A great story who think about what will happen if Draco acts differently in the Hogwarts years.
Cannot Save You Now by tigrelilje (Mature, 132k) | Hogwart Era, Angst, Horror, Dark, Vampire Harry

So let's take a step back. Far right extremists latch on to "democrats are child sex traffickers/murderers" as a cause du jour (pizzagate was 2016 can you believe?) A very real problem - sex trafficking - becomes a dog whistle for neo nazis and q-anoners. It bleeds into the national conversation. Websites like Backpage get targeted in the name of protecting kids, which maybe it does, while also hammering sex workers. Sex workers start looking for other places to build businesses. Apple, with a chokehold on the mobile app market, goes on a puritanical spree to eliminate sexy content from its apps. To protect the kids, of course. Tumblr gets removed from the app store bc there was a thriving sex-interested community here, and scrambles to remove anything even vaguely sexy, including female presenting nipples and several pictures of my pet rabbit. Sex workers - and just! People who like sex in general! - go in search of somewhere else to make a living and create content. Again. They go to onlyfans, turn it from nothing into a billion dollar company, but onlyfans "can't attract investors" with all that sexy content, so they decide to kick the sex workers out. Again. You know what happened to Tumblr when they banned sexual images (or tried to, I promise you there are naked people on my dash at this very moment)? Usage of the site plummeted, along with its valuation, and left them desperately scrambling to find some way to make enough money to keep the lights on. What is gonna happen to onlyfans without sexual content? How many people use it for non sexual reasons?
Now. I do happen to believe it almost impossible to consume traditional porn ethically; it is almost impossible to know if the actors were plied with drugs or forced into situations they didn't initially consent to or were otherwise coerced or abused and the business is full of those stories. But onlyfans? By and large most of those creators are in business for themselves, and in charge of their creative directions. It provides them with agency. It provides them with a means to control their own income, on their terms.
But we can't have that, can we? We can strip a woman down and force her into uncomfortable, revealing clothes and positions for big budget movies, but we can't have her deciding to do that for herself, can we? We can make art out of her trauma but we hem and haw when she demands respect. Companies can make millions of dollars on their backs and then throw these women away like they're nothing. Corporations, CEOs in big cushy offices raking cash in hand over fist can shit all over the women who made them rich; it is inherently classist. And misogynist; no, not all sex workers are women, not by a mile, but that is the way our society understands this business to operate. The women do the work, the men pay - or get paid - and the women are punished.
The rise of this neo-puritanism (which has also infected the left, make no mistake about it) hurts women, hurts sex workers, and gives young people no option to turn to for exploring the concept of sex but the traditional porn industry or mainstream media, and god the damage that does is quantifiable. There is data on this, on the rising trend of sex related injuries that boil down to "well I saw it in a porno and they looked like they were having fun", bc the porno didn't show the prep work, or didn't care that the acts it was showing were violent and abusive.
We need a public discourse about sex. We need access to different presentations of what sex is, or can be. We need protections for sex workers, instead of continually forcing them into smaller and smaller corners, where the risk gets greater and greater. Sex is not evil! Sex is not bad! Sex can coexist on a platform with other kinds of content without eroding the moral purity or whatever the fuck of that platform. No one was forcing Tumblr users to look at porn (well except for whoever runs the porn bots, which are very much still here) and if a tumblr user doesn't wanna see it then they can take some fucking responsibility and use the tools that are available to shield themselves from it.
Same fucking thing with onlyfans. It's a subscription based website; no one is encountering "sexual nudity" by mistake. But paternal, puritanical, pearl clutching corporations wanna dictate the content we can and can't consume.
This is censorship, plain and simple, and it is and always has been a slippery slope. Every inch of ground given is a loss of freedom. Corporations are taking charge of what we see, using algorithms (make sure you have best stuff first turned off on your Tumblr) to curate our experiences, steering us in whatever direction will make them the most money. I am thinking now about that expose about how the reporter could track a right wingers descent into q anon madness through his Facebook likes. Each click dragged him deeper and deeper into that hole until there was no way out.
Do I use onlyfans? No! But this continuing tend of throttling sex based content is alarming to me, and I don't know how we turn back the clock but holy shit. Bodies are not shameful, and sex is not repugnant, and the more we act like it is the more damage we do to our national psyche.

(^^^ from howling (and bleeding) at the moon: menstruation, monstrosity and the double in the ginger snaps werewolf trilogy by erin m. flaherty)
tw for discussion of suicide ideation
okay. so. i agree with the “doppelgänger narrative” idea but the idea that brigitte “[comes] to stand for the symbolic order she resists so enthusiastically at the start of the film” is, in my reading of the ending, a misinterpretation of what ginger’s “monstrosity” signifies in the film. flaherty’s reading follows a common structure of creature features in which the monstrous transgresses social norms, so the overarching conflict is the “other” vs. normalcy. in that case, killing the monster at the end is a return to normal and reinforces societal expectations. however, i don’t think that ginger snaps is actually that kind of story. at the beginning, both ginger and brigitte “resist so enthusiastically” being part of society to the point of rejecting life, becoming isolated and codependent. before ginger gets her period, brigitte tells her that she better not become basic like all the other kids at their school, but she leaves her behind pretty quickly once she becomes interested in teen society sex drugs and rock n roll and is more accepted by her peers. brigitte continues not to give a fuck about what anyone thinks of her, even though ginger is part of that world now and not their own. part of ginger’s transformation actually helps her gain social acceptance - she is now part of the “symbolic order” even as she transgresses it. i’m not saying her transformation doesn’t transgress this order, or that she gains the acceptance of everyone at her school - trina in particular certainly isn’t a fan - but especially at the beginning, the changes that she undergoes is perceived as her becoming a “normal” teenage girl instead of the freaky death-obsessed kid ostracized by her classmates.
i would argue that ginger’s transformation makes her both super- and unfeminine - super-feminine in the sense that all the side effects of puberty for people with uteruses (menstruation, body hair/shaving, developing new body parts, hormones/mood swings, and awareness of sexuality/being sexually active) are exaggerated during her transformation - and a lot of these symptoms are ways in which a woman’s body is policed or found unacceptable or gross; unfeminine in the sense that, first of all, she’s becoming inhuman and gender is a very human concept, and second of all, she still doesn’t fit the mold of female expectation (i.e. shaving, dressing a certain way, being demure or nurturing, not being overconfident, not being a slut OR not being a prude, not having physical strength, etc). flaherty does make this argument via david j. hogan’s dark romance: sexuality and the horror film: “in complete confrontation with the classic view of the werewolf as ‘masculinity carried to an outrageous extreme,’ the werewolf is actually aligned with femininity carried to an extreme,” an idea that i think works really well in discussion of ginger snaps in particular. she also rejects the identity of “girl” several times - “wrists are for girls, i’m slitting my throat,” yelling at brigitte and saying she’s “just a stupid little girl” - and disparagingly points out the difference between the expectations for male and female sexuality - “he got laid, i’m just a lay.” so.... i definitely do get the interpretation of ginger’s death to have a kind of punitive logic for transgressing gendered expectations in these two different ways, but i think that’s a meta-criticism on the part of the writers, not the role that brigitte fills (for a movie that rejects the “death by morality call” of hollywood monster movies, they really did still punish her narratively for moral transgressions lmao - like flaherty says, “it appears that as subversive as the ginger snaps films are in respect to the werewolf narrative, they also reflect a deep cultural ambivalence about female identity. there is no option offered to ginger or brigitte, and due tot heir unwillingness to accept the roles predetermined for them in the society in which they live, they must be punished”). honestly i think i am nitpicking a little bit because i guess i do ultimately agree with flaherty that the story follows a normalcy > otherness > return to normalcy pattern with gendered ideas of what normalcy is, and where she loses me is her interpretation of brigitte and ginger’s social standing. to me, ginger seems really frustrated trying to navigate gender roles and her own position in society - but she is engaging with society.
you know who’s still not engaging with society? brigitte. she isn’t part of that “normalcy” at all, so to me, her rejection of the lycanthropy that ginger embraces signifies less that she sides with the social order and wants to reinforce normalcy, and more that she did a lot of growing up over the course of this movie as well, in a different direction than ginger did, and she reclaims her agency as well as her will to live. i feel like the monstrosity vs. normalcy framework ignores the fact that both ginger and brigitte are actively suicidal at the beginning of the movie - the first shot we get of ginger is her holding a knife to her wrist. at the beginning, brigitte hesitantly agrees to their suicide pact despite her obvious reservations. at the end, she strongly asserts, “i’m not dying in this room with you. i’m not dying.” so if we consider ginger’s mimetic role for brigitte, killing her isn’t reestablishing the social norm, it’s rejecting her own destructive and suicidal tendencies. i think her narrative arc teaches her: 1) how to make her own decisions separate from ginger and have agency in her own life, 2) recognition of her mother’s feelings of estrangement from her family, 3) how to connect with other people in a way that isn’t codependent, 4) rejection of suicide ideation. all of these lessons are ways of treating yourself and others with respect, compassion, and understanding - even though brigitte doesn’t change dramatically, magically becoming a saccharinely nice person or a social butterfly. she maintains her isolation and personality much more than ginger does over the course of the film. while at the beginning their fascination with their own deaths “not only demonstrates the duo’s disgust at the banality of their suburban surroundings, it also proclaims their self-stylized exclusion from the heterosexually fueled dynamics of the teen scene” (via menstrual monsters: the reception of the ginger snaps cult horror franchise), it’s ginger, not brigitte, who ends up participating in this “compulsive heterosexing high school culture,” where brigitte’s choice to not commit suicide isn’t her opting into this culture, but attempting to find a less destructive way of escaping or coping with it.
flaherty argues that because brigitte’s first period is never discussed in the films, “she remains a child and therefore is unable to understand the true restrictiveness of woman as Other, what leads ginger to eventually embrace and enjoy her monstrosity,” but in unleashed, a fair amount of time has passed and i think it’s fair to say that brigitte no longer seems child-like (that role is assumed by ghost), and also she starts experiencing the same kind of monstrous sexuality as ginger did in the first movie - i think it misrepresents her characterization in the sequel to say that she maintains “child” status. i also think it’s not relevant to try to distinguish between “girl” and “woman” in terms of the monstrous-feminine. she still experiences alienation and otherness because she’s female and transgresses gender roles. so.... i don’t know. it’s a weird argument to make, especially since, like i said before, i consider this story a kind of coming of age for both sisters. “lycanthropy and femaleness” are not “ultimately unknowable” to her because.... she does become a werewolf over the course of both movies and she’s already female (like..... getting your period doesn’t magically make you a Real Woman lol)
i also think it’s significant that as a stand-alone movie (ignoring the sequel, which is worth watching but seriously bleak as hell) the ending is tragic but tacitly hopeful as well - as far as we know at that point brigitte has the cure (which actually works!) and is not going to kill herself. in her final confrontation with ginger, she has the cure in one hand and a knife in the other hand, and i think that nicely represents the choice that is hanging over her head the entire movie: choosing to live or choosing to die. (flaherty calls this “a telling moment of double phallic-appropriation” which..... meh. okay. not every weapon/tool used in a horror movie has to be a phallic symbol but also, sure, whatever. that’s one way to read it i guess). ginger made her decision at the very beginning of the movie
this quote by karen walton expresses this interpretation really well:
The two sisters had this childhood bond with their pact. These two sisters were also best friends who created a bubble for themselves and took strength from each other, nourished and informed each other for a long time; but the film is not just the story of Ginger turning into a monster. It is also a story about Brigitte surviving her sister who is on a death spiral. Ginger's is a story of self-destruction. But where people get confused is that they think Ginger is the hero, but the film is really about a sister who survives a sister, who survives a best friend. An intimate relationship that becomes unhealthy and deadly.
and i’ve talked a little bit about why i feel uncomfortable with attaching a ~*girl power*~ narrative to ginger so i won’t get to much into that but i have some thoughts about that here
also i’ve said a little bit about this before and i am basically copy/pasting from a post i already made but with a doppelgänger story like this, especially with a focus on women and madness, to me it immediately brings to mind jane eyre. i am thinking in terms of the mimetic function of jane/bertha and brigitte/ginger, with the repressed emotions and desires of the protagonist coming through in the actions of the “madwoman” character. especially brigitte’s assertion of “now i am you” when she voluntarily lets ginger turn her into a werewolf. the “madwoman” is portrayed as bestial, hypersexual, intemperate with substances, jealous, vengeful, as well as dealing with extreme anger toward confinement (ginger’s panic at getting locked up and her escape and weaponized sexuality brand of revenge is so similar to bertha like. trying to burn rochester alive and biting her brother badly enough that he passes out and other shit like that). but ALSO the other women in jane eyre have a mimetic function as well, where they can be read as potential paths for jane to follow (these choices generally can be summarized as dead or married). i think ginger snaps can be read the same way - ginger, trina, and her mother are the models of womanhood brigitte is presented with, and she is repeatedly told that what’s happening to ginger is normal, that all women experience that, and soon she will too. like the women in jane eyre, they’re models of femininity that she rejects but has to navigate because there are no other models for her. these three characters are either killed (directly or indirectly) or abandoned by her by the end of the movie. it’s actually ginger who defines the roles that women are cast into: “a slut, a bitch, a tease, or the virgin next door.” this is similar the female archetypes that jane has to navigate (and resist) throughout jane eyre. anyway this is a really roundabout way of saying that although brigitte does reject her worldview from the beginning of the movie, she doesn’t accept social order and normalcy. she doesn’t fall into any easily defined category. which is the point - “no one thinks girls do fucked up shit” but of course they do, no one thinks they can be more complex than these categories but of course they are, no one entertains the possibility that brigitte isn’t going to follow some made up universal experience of girlhood but she resists that through the end of the movie. she’s still a total weirdo <3
so yeah, i will also disagree with the assertion that both sisters lose their identities, because while i think there is a loss or a shift of identity in both ginger and brigitte, like flaherty argues, part of brigitte’s narrative arc is figuring out who she is without her dependence on her sister. brigitte saying “now i am you” feels less about loss of identity to me than actually identifying herself with the traits she sees (or used to see) in ginger - where ginger’s response (“i know you are, but what am i?”) indicates actual loss of identity rather than something transitory
oh and also one of the main claims of this paper is that the male werewolf’s source of pain is beyond the “lifetime of morning-afters where he must confront the previous night’s excess,” and is really his “bodily alignment with another ungraspable Other, the woman” which 1) i don’t think follows the definition of the Other she establishes earlier in the paper as something that is repressed in a self or society - this use of “otherness” seems more about alignment with something different than his own identity and less about the jekyll and hyde comparison she evokes with the expression of a repressed self (imo i don’t think she should’ve used that story to support her argument since it isn’t actually about werewolves, even though i get her point about the repressed self, it’s kind of irrelevant to her argument), 2) brigitte in the first movie doesn’t seem repressed to me - she genuinely doesn’t seem to have the same impulses as ginger does and it’s not until the sequel that she actively is attempting to repress the changes that are happening to her; however, since the paper does concern the whole trilogy, i think the point is still valid, but there’s such a heavy focus on the first movie that i feel the need to dispute that interpretation of her character arc, and 3) i don’t think this interpretation really lines up with classic werewolf movies - there’s nothing particularly feminine about your standard werewolf except arguably the cyclical alignment with the moon that ginger snaps uses as a menstruation metaphor, but like. for example. i would never watch an american werewolf in london and think, “oh, his distress isn’t actually about killing innocent people, loss of control, loss of sanity, guilt and mourning because of the death of his friend, a predetermined fate, and suicide, it’s about him being female-coded” or something. like, yes, “the tragedy of the male werewolf is believed to lie exclusively in the deep anguish he feels in violating the very societal boundaries he has come to live under” and it’s interesting to dig deeper into that in terms of gender and sexuality, but i don’t think femaleness is inherent in the distress of the male werewolf - of course this is true in ginger snaps (with jason’s transformation being particularly distressing to him because it mirrors menstruation). the assertion that the classic werewolf “bleeds uncontrollably until his transformation is complete” similarly seems unfounded to me because i’ve never seen that in werewolf movies and she doesn’t cite where she finds that symptom of the transformation - maybe i am missing something there? if anyone knows of a depiction where that’s the case let me know, because that’s definitely a stronger argument for werewolves = menstruation-coded.
and re: the quote i cited earlier about werewolves = femininity taken to the extreme: i don’t think that argument holds true in the classic depiction/cultural perception of the werewolf. i think this post makes a more supportable (and concise) argument:
There are hardly any female werewolves because they break all the classic rules of femininity. They force you to confront female violence, strength, size, grotesqueness and uncontrollability. Historically female shapeshifters always shift into something dangerous (snake) or sleek (cat) or dainty (bird) but female werewolves ignore the masculine gaze completely. They're distorted beasts that have no ulterior motive except to destroy. Nothing about them is nurturing or modest. They're the opposite of what a woman "should be." Their omission from pop culture is not an accident.
all that being said, i did enjoy this article, especially starting at the section titled “wrists are for girls; i’m slitting my throat:” ginger fitzgerald’s monstrosity and all the stuff about ginger’s transformation as a reflection of "monstrosity” as a teenage girl, and suburban landscape of repression. one description of brigitte’s conflict that i actually really like: “unlike the male werewolf’s double, brigitte yearns not for the eradication of her other half but for the reconciliation.” i think it’s a really interesting read, even if i don’t agree with a lot of it. and maybe i’m way off base? maybe i’m interpreting brigitte as a character too generously? let me know what you guys think
