had the consult for my gallbladder surgery. the doctor told me i need to "lose 10 - 15 pounds" before they'll perform the surgery on me, and that I would need to wait 2 - 3 months before they would schedule it. i told her i have PCOS which makes it difficult to lose weight. she told me that does happen, and offered to refer me to a bariatric surgeon who is used to bigger bodies who could perform the gallbladder removal instead. i asked her for the referral to them instead
i was very angry at her for this, as 10 - 15 pounds do not make any difference when you are 300 lbs. my weight fluctuates between 280 - 340 lbs depending greatly on what i've eaten, how much i exercise, and so on. this will also vary greatly depending on if the stone is blocking my gallbladder completely or partially- if it's fully blocking the neck of my gallbladder, i cannot get enough digestive juices into my stomach to properly digest my food, so i will begin violently vomiting to get the undigested food out, and to get bile flowing into my stomach again. i begin to lose tons of weight when this happens, and i put it back on during the periods where i can get enough bile in my stomach to properly digest my food.
i can't digest my food properly. eating "healthier" will not change this- i can't digest food at all, period. healthy or unhealthy, i can't digest anything, because a good half of my digestive juices are completely missing from my guts. there is a functional issue with the way my guts work, of course i will lose weight drastically and put it back on at times. of course the issues will be episodic.
both her and the student that was working with me kept assuming that i said that my pain got worse after "high fat" meals. both of them put this in my mouth-
the student did it first. she asked when the pain gets worse and i said sporadically, but sometimes after i eat. she literally asked me "so you said it gets worse after fatty meals, right?"
i got frustrated and said "no, it's really random." i didn't get to tell her that raw leafy vegetables and lightly steamed or cooked vegetables make me vomit. broccoli and cauliflower that aren't heavily cooked, salads, raw vegetables, lightly cooked carrots, applesauce and apples in general are all problem foods.
the doctor then came in and said "it gets worse after high fat meals, right? you said that" and i went, again, "no it just kinda happens."
i don't even eat a high fat diet. i cook at home now for every meal now that i have all the tools i need to do so. i make rice, fish, pasta, and certain vegetables that i can digest like potatoes, sweet potatoes, onions, mushrooms, and so on. i eat bread, seeds, nuts, dried fruits, and drink oatmilk. i don't eat land meats, eggs, or dairy. i don't have any of those things. i do eat french fries and fish sticks, but not for every single meal. i don't eat chips because they're too salty and irritate my stomach. i don't eat candy or sweets unless the food bank delivers them to me. i don't eat much sugar other than pancakes and certain fruits
she wouldn't listen to me and went "well when you eat fatty meals, your gallbladder has to contract more and it can cause you a lot of pain." you would not believe how many times she came back to "you need to eat a lower fat diet." "the pain gets worse after you eat a high fat meal, so eat lower fat meals and your pain will go down." "just eat a lower fat diet and it'll help."
i just kind of sighed. there were tears in my eyes. i felt defeated. they made a bunch of assumptions just because i was sitting there, being fat. i was wearing long sleeves due to it being cold and they didn't get to see that i have a lot of muscle in my body mass. quite a lot. i wanted to tell them that i'm on testosterone and physically active when and where possible, and that i frequently lift heavy objects and move, but i never got a chance. i wanted to tell them my BMI isn't what they think it is, but i just didn't bother to try
i despise that people assume that fat people are fat because they eat "unhealthy" foods. i ate high fat foods for a few months while i was homeless because i didn't have the resources to cook every single meal. it affected my liver, i'm dealing with some fatty liver. but my gallbladder has more important issues in the form of the literal stone inside. she would not stop pushing for me to eat lower fat meals. all because i was sitting there, existing, as a fat person. i wish i would've told her i can only eat fish and plant matter
i don't understand how a patient telling you they're vomiting and can't keep down certain foods does not sound like a more pressing issue than an arbitrary number. weight as a number means nothing, it tells you nothing about that person's actual body composition. i have trauma with vomiting and yet i'm going to have to keep doing it anyway despite the fact that it could kill me via dehydration or if i just. can't stop
either way i'm very unhappy with result as i already waited for a month for this consult. now i have to wait for a referral for another surgeon to go through, and to do the consult with them, too. all while being in pain and having GI issues the entire time. just because a surgeon doesn't want to take the time to learn how to operate on fat bodies. i'm tired. what a joke

HELP A FAMILY FROM GAZA 🍉🍉
Hello everyone. I hope this post reminds you of Gaza/Palestinians suffering. While we might take a warm shower, they are covered in blood, while we hug our loved ones, they see corpses of theirs. While we study for exams, they have no education. While we laugh, they cry. While we listen to the rain, they listen to the bombs and shelling approaching. While we clean our homes, they stare at the rubble that was once a home. While we take medicine, they have none. While we eat, children hold their stomachs and cry of malnutrition. We shouldn't stop thinking of Gaza, we should always keep their suffering in mind. Each death in Gaza is mourned - a great loss. The children of Gaza who had their lives robbed of them could have grown up to do amazing things. We must never forget, or stop mourning for Gaza.
Maysa ( @maaysasalman ) is a mother of five from Gaza.
" I'm 38 years old, married to Hossam, and we have five kids: Jamal (16), Mohammed (14, who suffers from a rare chronic illness and needs lifelong medication), Layan (10), Amir (8), and Zina (4). "
"My son Mohammed is getting worse without proper access to his essential medication. And my other children are growing up in fear, without school, without play, without hope."
They are a family of seven, and to evacuate is $5,000 each. They have currently set a goal of $30,000 - and there has not yet been a single donation. Please, we must show them that their lived matter. I hope we can come together and show up for them, I hope we won't forget Maysa and her family. Let's begin a journey of hope. Every child has the right to a safe and healthy environment to grow up in, and no-one should be denied health care.

What kind of personality does Toshi have and what backstory?
I am still in the process of fleshing out his story but! Here's what I have so far...
(Art by: Aixen )

Japanese Name: 時紫 雨花
Surname: Toshi 時紫 (violet hour)
First Name: Ukuwa (rain flower)
Alias: White Rabbit (By most), Eighty-Six (By Sho after they breakup)
Birthday: June 8
Age: 19
Gender: Cis Male
Height: 190cm (6'2")
Noise Form: Jackalope Cantus
Trivia/facts:
I designed him next to Rindou so they looked super hot together but then Shou swiped him like the asshole he is - I have yet to play Neo so maybe UkuRin will be able to recover but rn the Shou living rent free in my brain doesn't seem to want to share
I made Ukuwa's motif Hydrangea after a trip to the Hydrangea Shrine.
He's extremely picky about food and drink tempretures, like, it has to be just right or he'll tear you a new one
Loves Chai flavour
Every barista's nightmare, he'll yell at you if you don't pay attention to his laundry list order
He fiddles with his ear piercings when he's nervous
He thumps his feet like a rabbit when he's pissed
The neediest fucking bottom
Personality
A hardworking, judgemental and esteemed horologist. Time means everything to Ukuwa and he always seems to be in a rush! He is nicknamed 'Shibuya's White Rabbit' since he is often spotted dashing around the streets mumbling about schedules.
Ukuwa is strict and harsh but especially towards himself. He hates relying on people and prefers to get things done on his own. He is extremely counter dependent. If absolutely necessary, he takes extreme care in picking who to have around. He mostly sees people as tools for his own convenience. He calls people 'cogs'.
He has a very good eye for art and is passionate about design. He doesn't get excited often but when it comes to art, that is the one time his eyes light up.
Ukuwa's character arc is about slowing down and embracing the moment, being able to acknowledge your progress, allowing yourself to accept help and allowing friendships with unconditional love to blossom.
Backstory
tldr; He is the CPTSD haver ever - Trigger warning for: child abuse, neglect, divorce
An only child who did not have his emotional needs met. Ukuwa was raised by an abusive, alcoholic father who was a electronics technician and a neglectful mother who was a highschool teacher. Both his parents had high expectations towards him right away. Failure to perform with the best outcome would result in: solitary confinement + hitting/whipping as punishment whether that be in school, house chores, or even going out. He has scars all over his hands as a result which is why he wears gloves all the time.
Ukuwa would be locked in an empty room after a rough beating to 'reflect on his actions' for hours, his only company being clocks. This is where his obsession with clocks started. Curious and bored, Ukuwa would start to disassemble clocks at a young age to figure out their workings. One could’ve gone insane, but Ukuwa was grateful that the clock would tell him when the pain was over and he could see the light again.
His parents divorced when he was in middle school, both of them getting newer partners with other children. This applied extra pressure onto him to perform well. Unfortunately, Ukuwa was often casted aside in favour of his step/half siblings. He is desperate to prove that he isn't a burden. In fact, that's a really big fear of his.
Ukuwa functions on guilt and shame. His fear of being a burden and a failure is what causes his workaholicism and lack of care towards himself. He pushes forward and only forward. He does not allow himself to rest. Time only moves forward, and so he wants to move only forward too.
This means that he's chronically counter dependent and refuses help when it is offered. He avoids connecting with people unless it's absolutely necessary and for business purposes. Because one less person to be around means one less person to be a burden and disappointment to.
Ukuwa saved up a lot as a child just to move out and to escape his family. Once he graduated from high school, he immediately moved out to Tokyo and has been living in a sharehouse.
He currently attends a college of jewelry in Shibuya, learning how to make clocks of all kinds. He is obsessed with Il Cavallo Del Re and dreams to design clothes and watches for them.
Now, I don't usually have my OCs getting TOO involved in canon but this is sort of an exception (though Ukuwa does not effect TWEWY mainplot) *puts hands together* So where does he fit into TWEWY? WELL-
One day, when he was rushing around mumbling about time and being late, he got caught up in a sinkhole and he dies. (Haha, ironic bc of his nickname which references the rabbit in Alice in Wonderland) He was already feeling terrible because his clock design didn't get included in this competition he had participated in.
But he lands himself in one of Minamimoto Shou's earlier Reaper Games. At this point, Shou hasn't discovered Taboo bullshittery. This game takes place a while before Neku comes along.
His entry fee was his concept of time. This means that he cannot even see the timer on his phone and can only recieve missions. Ukuwa is hyper vigilant (thanks cptsd). That means he's extra sensitive to light and sound. He has several clocks on him with different 'voices' that soothes him. Suddenly, he can't hear them anymore and that throws him off real bad.
He gets grabbed by a straight-for-pay lesbian hostess and party girl, Hana, admist the panic of Day 1. She grabs him because he looks 'reliable' and wealthy. (she was wrong. Ukuwa is gay and he only looks wealthy because the clothes he wears is what he designed and he's good with his hands)
Hana forms a pact with him, wanting to take advantage of him like she usually does with men because she treats them like wallets. Her entry fee was money, so she cannot spend money throughout the game and has to rely on stingy Ukuwa. Ukuwa has to rely on Hana to keep track of the time.
They start off pretty rocky at first because Ukuwa doesn't have patience for her antics and Hana gets frustrated by how Ukuwa is so careful with how he uses his money and how he doesn't seem to know how to have fun.
Ukuwa's pysch is cryokinesis. Because you know. Time has literally stopped for him. He can summon icicles and walls of ice. Hana has immense strength and smacks the shit out of noise with her purse. They become quite a good team throughout the week.
Ukuwa starts to enjoy the moment instead of trying to push forward and ignore his feelings, and Hana learns that partying and drinking won't solve all of her problems.
Tldr, he falls in love with Shou so hard and he already struggles with feelings of uselessness in the RG so he ends up becoming a reaper. Their relationship happens very quickly and it's veeeery toxic (but that's what makes it tasty)
If you wanna know the deets about UkuShou-
Ukuwa x Shou
Ukuwa is immediately intruged by Shou's trash heaps. The symbolism and the cynycism towards humans speaks out to him. It's the first time he really feels connection towards someone. The precision of the trash, how it's held up so sturdily and is obviously so deliberate is impressive to him. Hana tries to snag a piece of trash that looks useful as a weapon and Ukuwa yells at her and puts it back. He calls it an art installment.
He doesn't know that Shou is the artist behind the heaps. Not until the trash cat turns up anyways. He actually finds Shou insufferable and annoying at first. The yelling into the megaphone is pretty triggering to him and he doesn't hesitate to throw an icicle at Shou. When he finds out that Shou is the artist though, he can't help but grow more and more curious.
When Shou hears Ukuwa praising his art, he's pretty confused at first. He normally doesn't care if measly humans can't understand his art's brilliance and beauty, so hearing Ukuwa reading his piece like a book is different and a little unsettling. One part of him is happy? But the other part of him just doesn't want to admit that he's understood.
So throughout the week, he makes more unhinged art pieces and challenges Ukuwa to guess the symbolism and he denies how correct Ukuwa is every time. It's annoying how bright Ukuwa looks when he talks about his art. But it's also really endearing too.
Anyways, Shou grows curious about Ukuwa and it's a running theme that he tries to interrogate him in closed spaces like alleyways, the phonebooth of love (where they share their first kiss) and changing rooms. They bicker, argue, talk about art, the mission, etc.
Ukuwa is a stupid baby gay and he starts seeing Shou as a person and he starts to understand and speak in maths lingo too. Shou becomes so fascinating and beautiful to him so he makes the extra effort to get to know him. He has the biggest crush and Hana notices too- Even trying to set them up in her own silly way.
I should prolly mention that I hc that Shou is colourblind and has protanomaly colour blindness (weak to red/green) and like.
Shou vision Ukuwa is vibrant and pretty it's insane.
I fully agree with Kiga's Shou HC and I think Shou had his art criticized in the past due to his questionable colour choices which lead to him making more sculpture stuff than paint. ANYWAYS-
Shou eventually accepts that he is understood by Ukuwa and by the time it's day 7, he realizes that actually, he kinda doesn't want Ukuwa to die in his hands. Luckily, Shibuya's Reaper's Game rules at this point aren't exactly solid yet and Shou being Shou finds loopholes. On the last day, there are a few surviving duos that reach the top of Pork City to fight Leo Cantus. This is when Ukuwa tosses humanity right out the window and he essentially erases all remaining players aside from himself and his partner Hana.
He's under the impression that one of them will have to die so he tells Shou that he'll gladly 'give him his movement' and die in his hands, but Shou cannot bring himself to do that and asks him to stay and add art to this world with him.
Tldr, thanks to the loophole of mission mail wording, Ukuwa is able to become a reaper and the two become even more inseparable.
They are very horny and very obsessed with each other. Ukuwa drops everything for love. Unfortunately, Ukuwa is a needy bitch and he relies on Shou for his dopamine. Shou is a free spirit and he likes his space so the relationship falls apart after a few months.
Ukuwa is actually the one that dumps Shou because he was 'five minutes and twenty three seconds late to our date'.
This hurts Shou's pride a lot because how DARE he get dumped. But here's the thing- they keep banging anyways. They are like magnets. And Shou is SO smug about it too. Because Ukuwa is in denial about still having feelings but he keeps going back!
I have yet to play NEO but after Shou dies in TWEWY Ukuwa acts like a fucking widower and he has a relapse with his workaholism. Kariya really helps him loosen up and enjoy the moment.
When Shou is revived in NEO, Ukuwa is like a sobbing mess. I imagine by then, Ukuwa has grown as a person more and he has learnt to give Shou space so they end back together. Shou also learns to have some empathy and stop being so selfish and finally apologizes (shocking) and they get back together. With their bond stronger than ever, they end up having a daughter (light puck baby) named Miu who is almost as unhinged as they are. She LOVES physics. She's a genius. And also a super powerful angel but I'll explain that another day LOL
#Toshi Ukuwa#I am so sorry#if this makes no sense i am ESL and kinda stupid#also#UkuShou is unhinged#It's toxic asf but I am eating this ship up#They are 2 crazy artists#I haven't even included my HCs of them as a couple bUT#kfjsfsgdgdg#TWEWY OC

Ongoing Headaches In Children – Vital Signs To Watch For!

Headaches can affect kids as well. But this symptom in your kid is nothing to overlook. In kids, headaches are also a cause for concern, particularly if they happen often or are accompanied by other symptoms.
Though they are common, headaches that are moderate to severe or ongoing might be a sign of underlying health problems. Here, you might consider talking to a neuro paediatrician in Siliguri for ongoing headaches in your child.
As parents, teachers, and caregivers, people should know about the warning signals that will help provide your kid with the right care and timely relief. Different types of headaches can affect children and cause various range of symptoms apart from simply a headache.
75% of teenagers and 25% of young kids get headaches. And, more than 150 types of headaches exist. Kids may experience pain or discomfort throughout their faces rather than simply on one side or area in most cases.
Common Reasons for Headaches in Kids – Let’s Understand
Children's headaches can be caused by many circumstances, including:
Dehydration: Headaches can result from not consuming proper amounts of water and this is one of the most common causes here.
Stress or Anxiety: Tension headaches in kids can be brought on by family problems, social demands, or stress or performance linked to school.
Poor Sleep: Poor sleep, sleepless nights, or interrupted sleeping habits may be a major contributing factor.
Dietary Factors: Headaches in your little one can be brought on by skipping meals, consuming too many sweets, drinking sweetened beverages, or having particular dietary allergies.
Screen Time: Using digital gadgets or laptops or mobiles excessively might cause eye strain and headaches.
Sinus Infections: Ongoing or long-term headaches can result from sinus pressure and congestion.
Underlying Medical Conditions: Conditions in kids including neurological illnesses, migraines, or eyesight issues may cause ongoing headaches, affecting their quality of life.
Consult the best pediatric neurologist in Siliguri or at your nearest location for diagnosis and effective care.
Heaches In Kids - Vital Signs to Watch For
While most headaches in kids are benign, some warning signs that tell a need for medical evaluation are:
Ongoing or Chronic Headaches
If your child complains about or experiences headaches several times a week, make sure to consult a doctor to rule out underlying conditions.
Headache with Vomiting
Ongoing vomiting along with headaches may indicate migraines or increased pressure in the brain; therefore, medical attention is a must.
Headache with Fever and Neck Stiffness
These symptoms may point to meningitis in the kid, which demands immediate medical care.
Headache That Worsens with Physical Activity
If headaches in your child worsen with movement, coughing, or straining, it could indicate a neurological issue. Visit your neuro paediatrician in Siliguri for ongoing headaches in your child.
Sudden and Severe Headaches
A sudden and severe headache may indicate a catastrophic illness like meningitis or a brain haemorrhage.
Changes in Vision or Confusion
Blurry vision, double vision, difficulty speaking, dizziness, or confusion in kids should never be ignored. It’s high time you should have consulted a pediatrician for accurate diagnosis and treatment.
Headache After a Head Injury
Look for fast medical help to examine internal bleeding or concussions if your child has had a fall or other head injuries and has been experiencing headaches for a long time.
Overview of Acute Recurrent Headaches or Migraines
Migraines rank among the top five illnesses that affect kids. This kind of headache often occurs two to four times each month and lasts one to two hours in your child.
Symptoms to watch for include pain on either one or both sides of the head, pale skin, nausea, vomiting, upset stomach, irritability, fever, sleeping for hours, blurry vision, etc. Yes, headaches are common in children but they are equally concerning. Whether the pain is mild, moderate, or severe, seeing a child specialist is vital. Your primary care pediatric doctor may refer your kid to a neuro pediatrician if needed. Schedule an appointment with the top pediatric neurologist in Siliguri today.

Over five years, 18 partners from 10 European countries aim to develop a multinational AI platform, starting with atrial fibrillation (AF). This heart condition causes an irregular and often abnormally fast heart rate. The goal is to create trustworthy AI tools for predicting and managing complex diseases.
Unlike traditional AI, this project actively guides patient management, engaging patients and caregivers for a more interactive healthcare experience.
ARISTOTELES focuses on AF but plans to extend its tools to other complex diseases. The innovative AI approach assesses risk and progression, considering associated conditions like heart failure and diabetes.
The project values a patient-centred approach, empowering individuals with AI to make informed decisions, adopt healthier lifestyles, and play an active role in their health.
Professor Gregory Lip said: “This is a novel and innovative project harnessing the power of AI in the management pathway for atrial fibrillation, the commonest cardiac rhythm disorder, and an increasingly major public health burden. Our multidisciplinary collaboration integrates data scientists and clinicians, facilitating the translation of novel AI methods to practical applications.
“We are all very excited by the opportunities our project offers and our learnings can be applied to many other chronic long-term conditions.”
ARISTOTELES, short for ‘Applying ARtificial Intelligence to define clinical trajectorieS for personalized predicTiOn and early deTEction of comorbidity and muLtimorbidity pattErnS’, is a key strand of work within the Civic Health Innovation Labs (CHIL). CHIL is an interdisciplinary research centre tackling global health challenges with civic data and technology while driving positive change for the people of the Liverpool City Region.

Wow the fact that three people tagged me warms my soul. Like, oh to be loved!🥰
Anyways this ain’t hard (for me) so let’s do this!
I love my body shape. Like I am built like the hot anime girl. That and the fact that I usually wear anime associated styles of clothes (lolita, gothic, punk) often earns me to be called a living anime girl which is exactly what I am aiming for so it makes me proud.
My weight. This might come off as weird because I am pretty underweight, (not like I try to be and doing diets, I just can’t or barely can gain weight because of a chronic illness I have ) which is not a good thing, but it makes me easy to carry. And I love nothing more than being picked up and carried around by family and friends.😅
My creativity. If I can imagine it I can make it. Comics, fics, highly detailed arts, sculptures, plushies, clothes, you name it. Everything is on the table. (Except cooking. I WILL burn down the kitchen if I try.😱)
My stubbornness. Although it’s usually not mentioned along with the good qualities I love it as it kept me and my family alive on many occasions. In fact when my mom was pregnant with me she almost lost me twice. Both times the doctors could not do anything to help me and I survived on sheer stubbornness and the will to live.
My kindness. I always try to be kind to people. Not because I expect some kind of cosmic karma, but because why would it be easier to be mean than kind? And if both take the same effort, why ruin someone's day when you could cheer them up?😇
I could go on, but 5 is what was asked so it's time to summon folks: (Also sorry for the repeat tags and feel free to ignore this if you don't feel like doing it. 😇)
@reclusive-raven @fishwithaphone @tmnt-enjoyer @chil-aglia @cartoonfriend @melok-be @cimmerian1275 @overthinkingspark-blue
Firstly, when you get this, you have to answer with 5 things you like about yourself, publicly. Then, send this ask to 10 of your favorite followers (non-nego-tiable, positivity is cool)
*Crys inside* Dang whys this kinda hard
1.) I like my vocabulary???? (Man idk)
2.) I like my drawings (Sometimes)
3.) I like my....poisivity?
4.) I like myyyyyyy poor cooking skills
5.) I like my.... smooth brain???
Mate im stuggling my mind went blank. Which is sad but yeah

Hiya. This is part 3 of the finale. The doctor gives you unexpected news about your pregnancy.
How will you and Poe cope?
Warnings, light domination, smut, heavy fluff, humor, not for anyone under 18.
Act 8, Two Heartbeats
You were now 18 weeks along and doing a little better physically.
You had a noticeable bump and thankfully your morning sickness had subsided. You were, however, experiencing weird food cravings and chronic back pain.
Your divorce was in it's final stages. Your shared custody of your eldest son Quint with him.
Quint got along fairly well with Poe, you did have your suspicions that your ex was poisoning his mind a little against him.
Poe was a caring, supportive partner. In between flying missions and intelligence briefings he made time to take care of and pamper you.
Your pregnant body was erotic and beautiful to him. He was both fascinated and a little turned on by the life bearing abilities of the female anatomy.
Even when you felt like an ugly, bloated mess with greasy hair and acne Poe still made you feel better.
The baby was extremely active too, it was fun to feel their little rolling kicks from within your body.
You were both at your 18 week check up. It was the day that you would possibly find out the sex of your baby.
"I'm terrified".
You were on the exam table as Poe held your hand. You were terrified that something would be wrong with the baby.
"She's going to be perfect". Poe reassured you with a smile as he gently kissed your hand. "There's nothing to be worried about".
Your heart started to beat faster once the nurse started the ultrasound.
"There's two heartbeats".
"There's what?" Poe asked with a slightly nervous laugh.
"You're having twins, congratulations". The nurse replied, smiling a little. "Baby A and baby B both look strong and healthy".
"Would you like to know the sex?" The nurse continued, still smiling.
"Uh, sure". You replied with a nervous smile.
"Baby A is female and baby B is male". They explained, smiling.
"We're getting our daughter plus a boy, it's a little like a buy one get one free offer". Poe joked as he kissed you tenderly on the forehead.
"That's not even remotely funny". You replied quickly as you glared at him.
"Come on babe". Poe teased as he tenderly kissed you.
The next several months passed by in a blur. Carrying twins was difficult at your age but Poe did everything that he could to pamper and care for you.
Late one night, when you were heavily pregnant and weeks away from giving birth, you found yourself craving Poe sexually.
For the most part you've avoided actual intercourse but it had gotten to the point where you couldn't take it anymore.
You were pleasing each other manually and orally instead.
There was an unbearable ache, a throbbing really, deep in your cunt.
Poe was spooning you, with his arms protectively wrapped around your body and his face nestled into the back of your neck.
You began to grind yourself in a suggestive manner against his semi erect cock, making him laugh a little and pull you closer.
"I guess my tongue isn't good enough anymore". Poe teased as he brushed his cock against you.
"No it isn't". You replied with a weak moan.
"You're going to have to beg me to fuck you". Poe teased with a slight laugh, his cock getting rock hard.
"Just shut up and fuck me". You told him with a laugh as you once again started to grind into him.
"Damn it, you win". Poe replied with a laugh as he guided his cock between your legs. "But I'm a little worried that our babies can feel this".
"That's not how the female body works". You told him with a laugh.
After the gentle lovemaking session Poe held you tight, looked deeply into your eyes and said with a smile,
"I love you, y/n, and I can't wait for our babies to be here".
Two weeks later
It was around 2 AM when you waddled into the kitchen to get a glass of water when your water broke.
You screamed for Poe and he found you clutching onto a kitchen counter in horrific pain.
You've been through labor and childbirth before but this felt much worse, likely due to the fact you were having twins.
Poe was a nervous wreck in the delivery room with you.
"I've never seen a human baby being born, let alone my human". He confessed with a few tears in his eyes and a nervous laugh as he held your hand.
"It's going to be okay". You told him as you continued your breathing and tried to ignore the pain.
"I don't think I could do this". Poe confessed, laughing a little as he kissed your hand.
"You're right, I don't think you could". You teased as you continued your breathing and squeezed his hand, hard, making him wince a little.
"Are you in a lot of pain?" Poe asked, his smile fading.
"Oh no, I'm just fine". You replied sarcastically "This doesn't hurt at all, I'm just going to be squeezing two little people out of my crotch".
Your words made Poe laugh, his laughter quickly faded soon after when you dug your nails into his arm as you started to push with all of your strength.
"Ow, ow, ow!" Poe cried out.
"Baby number one is crowning". The doctor announced. "Just one more big push".
Your little boy was the first to be born. Twenty minutes later and about ten big pushes your daughter arrived.
You were both crying tears of absolute joy afterwards.
It was fairly clear who they resembled more, thanks to their heads full of dark hair.
You were exhausted both mentally and physically but even that couldn't kill the beauty of the moment.
You'd never seen Poe smile like that before, he looked relaxed and even more handsome.
"Look at how gorgeous they are". Poe told you with a soft smile as he cuddled his daughter and kissed her on the top of the head. "They both look like me".
"I love how modest you are". You teased as you snuggled your beautiful little baby boy.
"I love you". Poe whispered into your ear.
"I love you more, stupid". You replied with a huge smile on your face as you burst into tears.

Correspondence, Chapter 02

Pairing: HotchReid
Summary: An AU where Reid never joined the FBI, but got roped into consulting for the LA field office while working and teaching at Caltech. Hotch gets his email referred from a fellow agent, and they start to work on cases together -- until they start talking on a regular basis. Regular becomes frequent, frequent becomes constant. They know nothing about each other, but they don't really mind.
Rating: Mature/Explicit (eventually)
Chapter CW/notes: Vague mentions of PTSD, spoilers for the Foyet storyline/mentioned character death. Little angsty, maybe a little OOC since Reid and Hotch don’t actually have a boss/subordinate work relationship in this story and I’m adapting that whole-heartedly. But other than that, it’s just grown men acting like dorks and Reid attempting to give parenting advice. Set in season 6, self beta’d.

Chapter 02
--
May 2010
-
Hotch does, indeed, take Dr. Reid up on his offer.
They work on a few more cases together, over the course of six to eight weeks, and each time Dr. Reid proves to be an invaluable asset. His knowledge is unsurpassed, extensive, and astounds Hotch every time he opens a correspondence email from the esteemed professor.
Have you ever thought about being an FBI agent? He teases one night, when they’d been sending theories back and forth in emails that had become less and less formal. Dr. Reid still sent dissertation-length assessments of the cases when they landed in his niche (which was often), but their replies had turned to a messaging template instead of the business-like format Hotch is used to writing all day every day. Quick, rapid-fire messages replacing the professional grade layout that felt so impersonal, with titles and headers and enough filler to give him chronic headaches.
This was much better. Informal as it was.
I’m fairly certain I wouldn’t pass the physical exams, but thanks for the compliment. Another life, maybe. Dr. Reid answers, and Hotch finds himself smiling and huffing a laugh behind closed lips, the kind that stays caught up in his chest. He’s not sure how much older the professor is, for all he knew he could be bordering on retirement, but it was an amusing thought nonetheless.
I would get them waved, or curve the scores. I have that kind of pull around here. Never would he speak with his agents or anyone at the Quantico office like this, and it had taken weeks and dozens of emails to get to this point. But the freedom of it was nice, enchanting, like a little taste of his life outside of the office. Just confined to the response box of his email. Despite what everyone (ie: Morgan, Prentiss, Garcia) said about him, he did have a sense of humor. He just also had a sense of propriety, and he was their boss. He wasn’t going to make light with them in the place where they catch murderers.
Don’t tempt me. I have tenure. But Virginia gets so cold, I’d freeze to death half the year.
Didn’t you attend MIT? What did you do during winter?
Froze to death. Pay attention.
Hotch outright laughs, and then snaps his mouth shut and looks out the open blinds of his office. Everyone has gone home, for the most part, but he doesn’t need JJ or someone else hearing him and coming to check on him. He hasn’t been getting much work done since Dr. Reid started replying to his emails that evening, and the little half smirk on his face is something he doesn’t think he can school as he rereads their conversation over and over.
Apologies. Next I’m sure you’ll tell me how you had to walk to class uphill both ways in the snow.
No, I took the bus. And Froze. To. Death. I live in sweaters, and I’m from Las Vegas, I’m not meant for the cold.
Las Vegas? Really?
Born and raised. My mother still lives there.
Hotch’s eyebrows raise at that, apparently he’s not so old that his mother is still around. His own parents are gone, have been for years, but that’s under different circumstances and really not a situation he likes to reflect on.
Must be nice, only being a few hours from home. Do you go back often?
As little as possible. I should really visit my mother more, but that’s hard for reasons I won’t get into. I do write her, though. A letter every day, although not much happens around here for her to get invested in.
As in a real letter? Not an email, or a phone call?
She doesn’t do well with phone calls, or computers. Letters are more personal, anyway, and she likes being able to have the paper in her hands in my own handwriting. It’s the least I can do, not going home unless I absolutely have to.
This is the most the man has ever spoken about himself, in a personal manner instead of an academic one, and Hotch isn’t quite sure how to take the evolution. It feels like a shift in their dynamic, an opening that could lead to a deeper level of friendship and -- it’s been a while since he’s had that. Allowed himself to have that. After Foyet, and even before when Haley started pushing for divorce and Hotch responded by isolating himself as much as he could to keep his work unaffected, he’d had trust issues. Hotch is man enough to admit that.
But speaking with an old professor on the other side of the country might just be the stepping stone he needs. Who knows, maybe they’d even get the chance to meet one day.
I just grimaced at my own triteness. I’m sorry, I didn’t mean to give you such a maudlin review of my life story.
No, that’s okay. I don’t talk much about myself, so I wasn’t sure how to respond. Work and home are kept very separate for me. It’s an unhealthy coping mechanism, I know, but it works as best as it can.
In your line of work, I can only imagine. You do what you have to.
Hotch pauses in their conversation, looks at the clock and the stack of paperwork he still hasn’t finished -- too busy lost in his talk with Dr. Reid -- and feels an itching in the back of his mind he wants so desperately to scratch at. To give into. Lists of things he knows he should talk about, but doesn’t trust anyone enough to do so. Hotch really isn’t sure he can even trust Dr. Reid with them.
At least, not yet.
Thank you. And thank you for entertaining me, as well.
Anytime.
--
It’s not a month later that Hotch is sitting at his desk, after hours, once again. Head in his hands and his phone still warm, overworked from the hour-long phone call he’d just endured with his ex-sister-in-law, Jessica.
Jack was being bullied in school. She’d had to attend the parent-teacher conference about it instead of him, because he’d been on a case in Florida for over two weeks. Which really just highlighted to Jack’s teacher what his home life is like and she expressed her worry. Adamantly. Jessica was in agreement, and she once again wanted to have the conversation on if Hotch returning to work at the BAU had been the right choice after Haley was killed. He’d taken his sabbatical for 30 days, passed his psych evals -- which didn’t mean much, he helped write the qualification questions -- and Jack was doing well with his therapist and in school.
Or so he’d thought. Until today.
That ‘conversation’ turned into an argument, because Hotch gets defensive when someone questions his choices in regards to his family, and as much as he knows that she is right -- he feels awful about how it devolved. Jessica has gone above and beyond in taking care of Jack, to allow Hotch to return to work, and she is the last person that deserves the brunt of his frustration. He only has himself to blame, and he doesn’t know what to do. Who to turn to. Who might have answers for him, if there even was a correct answer for his situation.
The Foyet case is classified. His assigned therapist is so easily played he hasn’t returned to her in months.
Hotch just wants someone who won’t see through him, even when he pushes back.
He wants to talk to someone who he doesn’t want to push back against.
Who he trusts.
Dr. Reid, I need help with something no one seems to have an answer for, but it’s of a personal matter and not a professional one. Would you mind lending me your services?
Hotch sends the email before he can take it back. It’s late in Virginia, but Dr. Reid is four hours behind him in California and there’s a high chance he might still be in his office. He seems to keep longer hours, for an old professor.
He won’t admit it to himself, but he feels a tightness in his chest as he awaits an answer. All the paperwork from the Florida case is completed, there’s nothing keeping him there at the office any longer. But it’s too late to go pick up Jack from Jessica’s, and he doesn’t think he would be welcome to come sleep on her couch like he often does on nights like this. When he wants to be there when Jack wakes up, and tonight he longs to do just that. But he isn’t sure he can even look Jessica in the eye right now.
So he sits there, and watches his computer screen, and feels himself distance from the ache in his bones. Knowing if Dr. Reid doesn’t answer him, he would have to spend however long it would take to compartmentalize his apprehension, once again, and go home to his empty house and not think about how he is failing in raising his son. In being a good father.
The soft ping of his inbox is his single solace in the storm of his thoughts.
Agent Hotchner, You know I’m always happy to help, in any way -- personal or professional -- if I can. What is it you need an answer to?
That tightness releases, but it also gives way to the worry building up in his chest. An overwhelming, crushing amount of it that he didn’t realize was climbing higher and higher the longer he’d been left alone with his thoughts. Drowning in trepidation. Everything he doesn’t want to have pressing on his mind when they are hunting down serial killers, working with criminals that would see it as a weakness and exploit it without batting an eye.
But this time, Hotch knows this is becoming something he shouldn’t try to hide away.
Child psychology. Trauma, in particular, and the effects on children after the fact.
It’s enough to describe what he needs answered, without telling too much of what happened. It’s still hard for Hotch to think about what happened, to fully realize what they had gone through. What had happened to Haley, what had happened to him. What Jack will have to grow up knowing nearly happened to him. What he almost witnessed.
(626)-595-0387 I have unlimited texting, and tend to stay up very late at night. Also, I have a feeling that you might want to keep this off government regulated emails. I’m not a practicing psychiatrist, mind you, but anything I can do to help you I will be more than happy to offer.
Hotch is stunned. Whatever he expected, that wasn’t it. He’s near speechless, staring at the phone number with a Pasadena area code, and hesitates in moving their correspondence off of the email platform. A drastic change in dynamic and expectations, but… it would be nice, to be able to message the professor whenever he wanted. The ease of access an alluring thought.
Another soft ping in his inbox has him looking up from where he’d been glancing at his cell phone in contemplation.
Also, it goes without saying, but everything we talk about in our conversations would still be confidential. I have no one to tell them to, anyway.
Hotch huffs out a sound that could have been a laugh, and he’s surprised he even can manage that. But he’s barely thinking about it before he’s picking up his cell phone and typing in the number Dr. Reid had given him. []6/3, 22:46[] This is Agent Hotchner.
He sends it, pauses in thought, then keeps typing.
[]6/3, 22:47[] You can call me Hotch, since this is outside work. Agent Hotchner just reminds me I’m abusing bureau resources for personal gain.
The whole interaction is causing this clawing, hot feeling in his chest that might be nervousness in risking the change in their work relationship, or residual guilt from the fight with Jessica about Jack, or just… the fear that Dr. Reid will tell him he is fucking this up and he should never have returned to the FBI at all. Because there are days, like today, where Hotch really starts to think that might be the case.
[]6/3, 22:49[] I figured as much. No one else actually messages me after 6pm except you and some of my more zealous students.
[]6/3, 22:51[] And although I don’t think you’re abusing anything; in that same vein, you can call me Spencer. This is just two friends having a chat, nothing more.
Hotch appreciates the gesture, finds himself almost smiling about it -- but then he remembers what he has to relay to ask what he wants to ask the other man. And he isn’t sure where to begin.
So he just -- begins at the start. The case where Foyet fooled his whole team, posing as a victim, and managing to get away. Slipped through their fingers. Gotten away with murder and insider FBI information and more than he should have ever been able to access. Dr. Reid -- Spencer, please -- doesn’t say anything as he relates all of this, and Hotch commends his patience. Because from the start, this isn’t about child psychology at all. But it is certainly about trauma, and that becomes apparent when Hotch throws caution to the wind and describes what happened to him in his own apartment. Paraphrasing and dropping out intimate details, but explaining what happened is still brutal even stripped to its bare minimum. When Foyet had broken in, and blitzed him, and tortured him as he stabbed him nine times in the chest. Precise, practiced, indicative of letting him live with the knowledge of what that monster masquerading as a man could do.
The details begin to bleed through the more he types. The more he remembers.
How he’d had to put his ex-wife and son into protective custody. How it hadn’t been enough. His late night obsessions all for naught. And finally, a brief -- or as brief as it can possibly be, for as brutal an event as it was -- summary of what happened when Foyet had found his family. How he had killed Haley, how they had stopped Foyet and Jack had been spared witnessing anything. Even the fight inside Hotch’s own house. He doesn’t… well, Hotch doesn’t plan on describing that and keeps it at bay. He barely remembers it. Blurs of fists and broken furniture and rooms he has memorized from years of memories flying by as they tore through his home like a hurricane.
But he gives enough of a picture. Enough that, though he doesn’t say as much, Spencer probably knows Foyet didn’t make it out alive. Can guess it was by Hotch’s own hands.
Which leads them to now -- to the part Hotch needed help with more than anything. His past and his trauma Hotch has a lot of practice dealing with, knows how to handle it alone. As he always has. But the part he doesn’t know how to handle?
He is raising his son on his own. His ex-sister-in-law, Jessica, has been a godsend and is helping with Jack so Hotch can be at work. His lifeblood. His identity. Everything he’s ever worked for. He almost left; Strauss had offered him an early retirement package that was too good to pass up, but he had in the end. Because being an FBI agent, catching the monsters that plague their world, that is what he does. And that’s what Jack knows him to do.
It helps Jack, Hotch found, to know that his dad is out there catching men like the one that took away his mom. He probably would have taken the loss a lot worse, if Aaron had left the bureau.
But he’s messing up. Hotch feels that in his bones. He’s gone so much, Jessica is taking on the role of parent instead of Aunt more and more, and Hotch does not want to turn into that father that shows up once in a blue moon and pretends he never left. He’s worried that what Jack’s teacher, and Jessica, had said is true and Jack’s home life isn’t going to be healthy for him. It’s going to make him suffer.
That what Jack has gone through, Hotch doesn’t know how to address correctly.
It’s near a half hour later that he’s gotten the entire story out, and Hotch realizes that even though text is probably going to be easier to have a conversation like this… he probably could have written it in an email and saved them both some time. He apologizes at the error, because it’s late and his head isn’t quite screwed on straight whenever it comes to matters with his son, and he just… he’s at a loss. Doesn’t know what the right course of action is, or if there even is one outside of a professional’s opinion.
Then Hotch waits for a reply.
It feels like hours, but in reality is only a couple of minutes.
[]6/3, 23:22[] Hotch, the fact you are so worried about your son and how your actions have affected him through all of this, is all I really need to know about you being a good father. The consideration you are showing him is not something every parent can do, in the face of what happened to you and your family. You do not need to worry about that. You love your son, and that is the most important factor right now.
[]6/3, 23:25[] Secondly, I’m so sorry that this happened to you at all. You and your son sound like you have such a strong bond, and I know that’s what must have helped you through such a difficult time. It’s apparent that you love him very, very much.
[]6/3, 23:29[] I don’t have a lot of friends that ask me the hard questions like this. Not that I don’t want them to, I just understand why, because I can recite statistics all day and give you textbook answers easily. Which I know you were hoping would give you a black and white response to your question. But in this there isn’t one, sadly. I know you are worried and I feel like you don’t need to be. And I don’t know how to express that in a way that won’t make you detest me.
[]6/3, 23:32[] Your son just lost his mom, and you just lost your ex-wife, and there’s not going to be a straightforward path to healing. Everything you say you have done for him? It’s perfect, it’s exactly what you should be doing, and don’t stop. That’s all you can do and all you should focus on, in truth. Listen to what he tells you and watch for what he doesn’t, and hug him, because you are a great dad -- and this is coming from someone who did not have such an example.
[]6/3, 23:33[] And I am very sorry about Haley, Hotch. I truly am.
Hotch doesn’t even answer him for a good few minutes. It is a lot to process, to read through, and he does read through it more than once. But every single time he reads that final text, his eyes sting hotly and he has to blink back emotions he thought he had waded through plenty on his 30 days of leave. Apparently, not enough.
It’s so much, and yet he wants more. It’s not enough in the sense that he wishes Dr. Reid -- Spencer -- would keep talking to him. Keep telling him he’s doing a good job. That he hasn’t failed his son.
That for once, he’s handling something right.
With a breath that feels like it shudders through his chest a little more roughly than it should, Hotch slowly types out a response that doesn’t even begin to feel anything close to adequate.
[]6/3, 23:41[] Thank you, Spencer. I could never detest you, in the slightest. Everyone keeps telling me I’m not screwing this up, but
He pauses, not sure if he even believes what he’s about to type.
At the last second, he switches tactics entirely. Feels a flood gate open. Just one, solitary floodgate in the vast Hoover Dam size wall he keeps up from the moment he shrugs into his suit jacket at home until he sheds it all away at the end of the night. In the confines of his home, with six physical locks on the door and two different digital security systems. With a weapon carefully concealed and childproofed in every room. With steel reinforced windows and no exit save for the front and back doors. A fire hazard, but a good precaution against anyone who would try to break in -- like Foyet had.
[]6/3, 23:41[] ...I find it so hard to believe them. In some ways it’s hard to believe you, too, but that’s not personal. Your words have resonated more than anyone else’s, if that’s any consolation. Even more than the therapist they assigned after everything.
[]6/3, 23:45[] My sister-in-law flat out told me I was failing my son, being away like I am, and his teacher believes his home environment isn’t healthy. He’s being bullied in school. I don’t know what to do.
Hotch types it all out and sends it.
The reply is instantaneous.
[]6/3, 23:46[] Yes, you do. You know exactly what to do.
And then there isn’t any further elaboration.
At first, Hotch is confused. He feels himself being pulled from that precipice of self-loathing and despair. Tugged by a string. The confusion forces him to look at Spencer’s response, nine words long, and decipher what they mean.
Trusting his first instinct, once more.
[]6/3, 23:49[] I have to talk to Jack.
[]6/3, 23:54[] You have heard all of this from everyone other than your son. He may be young, but he is going to know the answer better than his teacher or his aunt. Talk to him, before you start nailing yourself to a cross. You may find the answer to the situation a much easier fix than you are anticipating.
Hotch considers this, thinking about his son. Six-years-old now, first grade, smart as a tack, curious and kind. But so strong, a foundation that even he found himself clinging to sometimes, in the face of the storm of everything that had happened to them. Which is not healthy, and Hotch learned to not do that to him. To instead find solidarity in their relationship, withstanding the storm together. As they always have.
[]6/3, 23:57[] He’s not one to let a bully have his way. He knows that’s not right. Maybe he has another strategy.
[]6/4, 00:01[] He’s young enough that trying to befriend his abuser would be a good tactic to counter the situation, does that seem like something he would do?
[]6/4, 00:02[] That sounds exactly like Jack. Hotch replies, with a smile finally easing on to his face -- and it feels lighter now. Easier to hold.
[]6/4, 00:04[] He sounds like a sweet kid.
[]6/4, 00:05[] He is. I’m very proud of him.
[]6/4, 00:07[] You really are a great dad, Hotch. I’m not just saying it to say it.
That crushing, overwhelming feeling has ebbed to nearly nothing -- and with a sudden rush of vertigo it is replaced with gratitude for the old professor lending him his evening hours. It flashes warm and sudden and Hotch isn’t used to that, either.
[]6/4, 00:08[] I would never expect you to, but thank you.
Even he feels lame for thanking the man for saying such a thing.
[]6/4, 00:10[] You don’t need to thank me, I barely did anything.
[]6/4, 00:11[] But if you ever need to talk, about anything really, I’d be more than happy to do so.
[]6/4, 00:13[] I promise I can be good at that. The listening part. Day or night, it really doesn’t matter. I’ll always be around.
Hotch pauses at the offer, and then types slow and hesitant.
[]6/4, 00:16[] What if I just want to check in on a friend?
[]6/4, 00:16[] I am also around for that.
The answer is sudden, without hesitation, and Hotch feels a smile start to ease the muscles in his face. Soften the edges once more.
[]6/4, 00:18[] I wouldn’t mind someone to talk to after a long day. It’s been a while since I’ve had a…
He pauses again, not quite sure if he remembers how to do this without pressing in too fast. Committing to too much, not sure what he is able to give of himself. But he’s already shared more with Dr. Reid in two months than he has with David in the past two years.
Hotch makes a decision, for himself, for the first time in a long time.
[]6/4, 00:18[] ...It’s been a while since I’ve had a friend outside of the bureau.
[]6/4, 00:19[] Do I still count if I’m a consultant?
[]6/4, 00:19[] You absolutely count.
His own message makes him smile, and there’s a beat between messages where he hopes he made the older man smile as well.
[]6/4, 00:22[] I’m never short on topics of conversation, I warn you. So unless you want a lecture on quantum physics -- how do you feel about chess?
[]6/4, 00:24[] I’m getting the feeling you’ll wipe the floor with me.
[]6/4, 00:25[] Oh, without a doubt. But the desktop app also has a chat feature.
[]6/4, 00:26[] Look at you, all modern and with the times.
[]6/4, 00:28[] My home phone may be a rotary, but even I can’t scoff at the vast reach of online chess.
[]6/4, 00:28[] So what say you?
Hotch pauses, one final time, and considers the night; the conversation, Spencer’s advice, the way talking about what had happened helped ease the weight of it more than he’d ever anticipated. Then he thinks of the source, of what started it all, and how -- once again -- Dr. Reid was right about a number of things. But one thing in particular.
[]6/4, 00:32[] I’m going to take your advice and go to my son. But tomorrow night, after he’s in bed, I have many hours to myself.
[]6/4, 00:35[] By no coincidence whatsoever, my evenings are always free. Care to show off those FBI honed deduction skills? My best chess opponents have ironically been FBI agents.
[]6/4, 00:36[] Oh, I’m terrible. Trust me.
[]6/4, 00:37[] I promise I don’t care. Your company is worth however many short games we can endure.
Hotch smiles, despite himself, and this time doesn’t try to hold it back.
[]6/4, 00:39[] Then, it’s a date.

Do you know about Cerebral Palsy?
Cerebral palsy (CP) is a series of mobility and postural disorders that limit activities and are thought to be caused by non-progressive abnormalities in the baby brain.
The most prevalent and expensive type of chronic motor disability that first manifests in childhood is cerebral palsy (CP). In addition to epilepsy and secondary musculoskeletal issues, the motor abnormalities are frequently accompanied with difficulties of sensation perception, connection, communication, and behavior. A wide range of developmental, genetic, metabolic, ischemic, viral, and other acquired etiologies that result in a similar set of neurologic symptoms are responsible for cerebral palsy (CP). Neurologic involvement pattern, neuropathology, and etiology are the three main categories used to classify CP. Many people with CP function at high levels of schooling and employment, showing no signs of impairment.
In contrast to palsy, which refers to the loss or impairment of motor function, cerebral refers to the brain. The cerebral cortex, the part of the brain that controls how muscles move, is affected by cerebral palsy. In certain cases, the cerebral motor cortex did not develop normally throughout early childhood. In a different case, the harm was brought on by a brain injury that occurred either before, during, or after birth. In either situation, the damage is irreparable, and the resulting disabilities are permanent.
What causes cerebral palsy (CP)?
The condition known as cerebral palsy (CP) is brought on by either damaged or abnormally developing parts of the brain that control movement. This harm may develop prior to, during, or soon after birth. Although it might not be discovered for several months or even a year, the majority of children have congenital cerebral palsy.
The causes of cerebral palsy (CP) are–
Brain infections such as bacterial meningitis or viral encephalitis.
Problem with blood flow to the brain
Head injury (intracranial hemorrhage or bleeding inside brain)
Genetic abnormalities
Congenital brain malformation
Maternal infections on fever
Damage to the white matter of the brain (periventricular leukomacia or PVL)
Severe back of oxygen in the brain
Severe material low blood pressure rupture of uterus, detachment of placenta
Problems involving the umbilical cord
Early symptoms of cerebral palsy (CP) include:
Though a precise diagnosis may not be made until a child is two years old or more, cerebral palsy (CP) science typically manifests in the first month of life. Infants with CP often have developmental delays, which cause them to take longer than usual to attain developmental milestones like:
Learning how to sit, roll over, crawl, or walk.
Altered muscular tone can be present in some newborns with CP.
Hypotonic, or decreased muscle tone, can make them appear stiff or inflexible.
Hypertonia, or increased muscle tone, can make someone appear stiff or inflexible.
strange position
Prefer one side of the body when bending, crouching, or reaching.
Types of cerebral palsy (CP):
The distinct types of cerebral palsy (CP) can be distinguished by:
Spastic Cerebral Palsy
Dyskinesia Cerebral Palsy
Ataxic Cerebral Palsy
Spastic Cerebral Palsy
The most normal type of the condition is one in which the youngster moves awkwardly and with stiff muscles.
Forms of specific cerebral palsy include-
Specific diplopia/ diparesis involves muscle stiffness that is predominantly in the leg and less severely affect the arms and face.
Spasticquadriplegia/ quadriparesis is the most severe form of cerebral palsy and is often associated with moderate-to-severe intellectual disability. Children will often have severe stiffness in their Limbs but a floppy neck they are rarely able to walk. Speaking and being understood are difficult.
Dyskinesia cerebral palsy– is characterized by slow and uncontrollable writing or jerky movements of the hands, feet, arms or leg. Hyperactivity in the muscles of the face and tongue make some children grimace or drool. They find it difficult to sit straight or walk. Some children have a problem hearing, controlling their breathing.
Ataxic cerebral palsy affect balance and depth perception. Children with ataxic cerebral palsy will often have poor coordination and walk unsteadily with a wide based gait. They have difficulty with a quick or precise movements. Such as writing for or buttoning a shirt or a hard time controlling voluntary movements such as reaching for a book.
Symptoms appears in cerebral palsy:-
Children with cerebral palsy (CP) following symptoms including
Lack of muscle coordination when performing voluntary movement
Stiff and tight muscle and exaggerated reflexes.
Weakness in one or more arm and leg
Walking on the toes a croached gait or a scissored gain
Variations in muscle tone either to stiff or to floppy
Excessive drooling or difficulty swallowing or speaking
Shaking or random involuntary movements
Delays in reaching motor skill milestones
Difficulty with precise movements such as writing or buttoning a shirt
Intellectual disability
Abnormal physical sensation
Impaired vision
Hearing, language and speech problems
Delayed growth and development
Learning difficulties
Dental problems
Contractures

Chil DRENS Therapy
ChilDRENS energy therapy refers to the practice of natural healing using essential oils as a part of the healing process. This practice has been around since ancient times and has been shown to be effective in relieving pain, improving the immune system, reducing stress and promoting overall health. Using chilDRENS healing technique you will learn how chilDRENS diffuses gentle, yet powerful aromatherapy throughout the body. With continued use, your mind and body will become more relaxed and your health will improve.
In the US, chil DRENS therapy is offered at many health centers and chiropractic offices. In Canada, chilDRENS is widely accepted as an alternative form of medicine. Many people who have tried it feel that it provides them with better overall health and they are able to cope with everyday stresses better than they were before they started using chilDRENS therapy. One of the most common complaints about chilDRENS therapy is that patients experience mild to moderate discomfort when using the oils.
During the healing process, chilDRENS diffuses pure essential oils under the skin. These are not synthetic aromatherapy oils, so they are very safe to use. You can even buy pure chilDRENS oil from online stores. Pure chilDRENS oil can be used to help relieve stress, relax, fight depression, induce relaxation, and promote general well being. However, chilDRENS therapy is not intended for all types of ailments and is not recommended for women who are pregnant or breastfeeding. For those individuals who do require the use of chilDRENS therapy, they should contact their physician first to discuss the potential benefits and risks of chilDRENs.
Some of the ailments that chilDRENS therapy can treat with chilDRENS include chronic pain, migraines, joint pain, menstrual pains, sinus problems, skin disorders such as acne and eczema, and other forms of illnesses and discomforts related to the body. Many of these ailments have no clear medical explanation and it is not known how chilDRENS helps treat them. There are many theories on the benefits of chil DRENS therapy, but there is no definitive scientific evidence proving the effectiveness of chilDRENs. One theory that is being researched is that chilDRENS helps stimulate the blood circulation by increasing the flow of blood through the body and increasing the oxygenation of the blood. Many believe this increase in oxygenation results in an enhanced energy level in the body, which may explain why many feel more energetic after using chilDRENS therapy.
While there is not currently any scientific evidence backing the claims of chilDRENS energy therapy, many patients feel that this form of treatment is helpful. ChilDRENS has been around for years and there are many satisfied patients who speak positively of this form of chilopathy. However, chil DRENs is still undergoing research and there is much to learn about the effectiveness of chil DRENs in addition to its potential benefits. As new information is discovered about chilDRENS therapy, the use of chil DRENS will most likely continue to expand.
ChilDRENS is a unique form of energy medicine that employs a unique combination of herbs and minerals into a system that promotes overall balance in the body. When the patient puts his or her hands in the chil DRENs, they can feel the energy flow in their hands. There are certain key areas of the hands that are targeted by the therapy and believed to be linked to overall health. Those who have used chilDRENS energy therapy treatment have found that the technique helps to calm and relax their minds and bodies.
In addition to the calming effects of the hand treatments, the chilDRENS crystals embedded in the chil DRENS garments help to enhance physical well-being and overall well-being. Many of the crystals in the chil DRENS garments promote overall vitality and well being and also provide relief from stress and other ailments. The minerals in the chil DRENS energy therapy garments act as catalysts for the healing process. They help to accelerate the metabolic rate and promote healthy blood circulation. This allows the patient to achieve optimal health and the alleviation of common and chronic conditions.
The popularity of chilDRENS energy therapy is increasing at an accelerated pace. It is rapidly becoming the preferred method of treatment in addition to traditional medical care. The positive benefits of chil DRENS energy therapy include relief from stress, better sleep, stress relief, and improved overall health. One of the biggest advantages of using chilDRENS energy therapy over other alternative methods of energy healing such as acupuncture, massage, or tai chi is the fact that it promotes a healthy lifestyle. There are no medications or chemicals ingested, there are no invasive procedures, and there are no side effects. People who choose chilDRENS energy therapy enjoy a stress free life because they are able to maintain their health naturally.

When should I take my child to the dentist for the first time?
Just about everyone can list a few reasons WHY good dental care is essential. As a parent, you are aware from your own experience, good or bad, how vital oral health can be. As with most conditions prevention, is better (and cheaper) than cure. And prevention starts early in life.
“Tooth decay is one of the most common chronic diseases of childhood. If left untreated, tooth decay can have serious consequences including problems with eating, speaking, and learning”. Division of Oral Health, National Center for Chronic Disease Prevention and Health Promotion
A recent multivariate analysis found that children with poor oral health miss more school days and receive lower grades than children with good oral health. National Center for Chronic Disease Prevention and Health Promotion
Oral health care needs to start very early in our lives. We give some helpful pointers later, but first, we will deal with the “when and what” questions.
As a rule-of-thumb, plan for your first visit with the appearance of your child’s first tooth, between 4-7 months. Early or late teething is not an issue (sometimes, children are born with teeth) but, visit your dentist before their first birthday.
Now, before we go any further, let’s deal with the question of cost. All ACA-compliant health insurance plans include preventive dental services for children such as:
Regular teeth cleanings and fluoride treatment
Oral health screenings and dental examinations
Orthodontic
Tooth X-rays
Oral surgery
Sedation for surgery
Note. The ACA mandates these services. They are free, but only when delivered by a dentist in your plan’s network. You have the choice of network and metal level.
If your premium payments are up-to-date, you will incur no charges, including co-pays and co-insurance for preventive oral screening and treatment for dependents up to age 19.
There is the first WHO-your in-network dentist. Some dentists, pediatric dentists, are specialists in the oral treatment of the very young. In some rare instances, your dentist may suggest that you visit a specialist but only do so with their written agreement. That is a second “Who,” the pediatric specialist,
There is a third “Who,” and that is you!
Even before the first teeth appear, you can help ensure that your child has the best chance of healthy oral development. The greatest enemies are sugar and bacteria that cause cavities.
Reduce the risk by wiping your baby’s teeth twice daily, using a soft clean cloth. Do this after the first and last feeds of the day to wipe away the sugar and bacteria
When the first teeth appear, continue with the same routine but use a soft, small-bristled toothbrush and plain water.
By your baby’s first birthday, visit your dentist to spot signs of problems early.
Now that we know if you have an ACA-compliant health insurance plan, your child’s dental treatment is free of any additional charges. Your provider is your dentist or physician. If recommended, you have access to a specialist pediatric dentist. We know that our first visit to the dentist should come after the first tooth appeared and our first birthday.
We come back to the question of “Why.”
Why is the first visit so important?
The primary cause of tooth decay is cavities. Cavities are the consequence of bacteria in the mouth from birth. The bacteria thrive on sugar, the major attraction of sugary foods and fizzy drinks. It is almost impossible to avoid consuming sugar (especially by infants and young children). We can reduce the damage by keeping the mouth free from excess sugar and bacteria. First, avoiding over-sweetened (sugar-free, good luck with that!) and encouraging proper oral hygiene.
You can build the child’s defense with fluoride varnish (applied by your dentist), which protects the surface of the teeth from bacterial action. If recommended by your dentist, fluoride varnish can be applied to teeth when they appear. Fluoride toothpaste has a similar effect, but it is not usually appropriate for children less than two years.
Take advantage of your ACA-compliant plan and visit your dentist. If you do not have a plan, you should review your new situation in time to enroll during the next Open Enrollment.
Below a certain income level (depending on your state), you can apply for Medicaid (a Federal/state-funded program). The program ensures you and your dependents of free access to essential healthcare.
