The near YouTuber style apology video (attached below) they made feels uncomfortably similar to many of the posts made in the lore.fm tag, in my opinion, script wise. I would love to see the similarities with emails sent to them directly as well.
I would not put such lack of effort past this team (in my opinion).
I’d especially not put it past the team considering the dm’s I posted yesterday (sent over this reblog) show they are in fact aware of tumblr and reading at least some posts here.
It’s poetic, in my opinion, the unoriginal ai nightmare couldn’t even have an original apology script. The curse of the Forbes 30 under 30 strikes again I guess.
Good riddance.
I’ll be posting a few more longer posts on the topic soon since the points they make still hold merit.
Remember: your art belongs to you, we all have more power than we think.
"It's normal for siblings to fight" Okay well it's not normal to be extremely classist and look down on your sister for being non-conforming. Or to go to the woman who ordered the death of your pet to tell her about your father's plans, when he specifically warned you against doing so, because you want to marry the boy you saw attack your sister and her friend (contributing partially to said father's death and your sister being unable to escape on the ship he chartered). Or to think of your sibling as unsatisfactory in comparison to another when you believe her to be dead. I notice that none of the "Sansa and Arya are going to reunite and instantly have no issues" crowd ever acknowledge any of this, which makes it seem like they don't actually believe what they say about their relationship being normal and easily reconciled. People wanting them to have no issues simply because they're siblings is another example of how fandom likes to flatten complex characters and relationships. They get reduced to being bickering siblings when their conflict runs deeper than that. If the author is telling you that they have "deep issues" to work out [X], I don't understand being so adamant about ignoring said issues. I also get the sense it's about ignoring the capacity for a certain character to be flawed, but that isn't going to change the fact that her "slip of the tongue" is very likely to be revealed and a source of further conflict 🤷🏾♀️
dw is a mid kid's sci-fi tv show and it's quality level has been mostly entirely consistent (mid, basically, with the occasional very good episode to balance out with crimes against humanity it sometimes produces) the whole reboot, and anybody acting like the Only thing going into peoples opinions of the characters are writing preferences are either Deeply naive or are trying to hide something they know people will not take kindly to.
Do you have any good Reverse Robin AU fic recs? Every one I've read has Red Hood!Tim who is way better at being Red Hood than Jason and outsmarts everyone, and as well written as some of them are it always rubs me the wrong way.
I know exactly one and I'm a bit biased bc the person who wrote it based it on my reverse batkids au but I also do think it's great so I'm gonna link it below so more people can read it but yeah if anyone else has some good reverse robin fics that don't do the whole red hood tim please link them bc I too would love to read them
I keep seeing people talking about Anna Marie Tendler’s new book and how bad it is and how much she sucks (at writing and being a person apparently), and how they feel so vindicated (I guess for choosing John Mulaney’s side in the divorce 🤪), and… Idk, I guess my hottest take is:
It’s still wrong to cheat on your wife even if she’s a bitch lol. Also, it never occurred to me, someone who was enough of a fan of Mulaney that I saw him in concert, that he (someone who is obviously an asshole, but was doing it in that I’m a charming asshole and a “wife guy” sort of way) wasn’t married to someone who was also an asshole. But… SO WHAT? You don’t get to cheat on and publicly embarrass your spouse because they’re an asshole, especially if you’re on dope, idgaf who they are or who you are 🤷🏾♀️
Side note: Off topic, but not really lol, but umm this is my problem with the way y’all talk about Affleck and J Lo. It physically pains me to defend Jennifer Lopez, but ain’t no way in hell I can watch folks blame his lifelong alcoholism on her. Racism and a touch of classism are the only explanation for the way their marriage and subsequent divorce is discussed vs the way his marriage to Jennifer Garner (a racist, who cheated on her husband to go with Affleck) is discussed, and it honestly makes me sick. I will never defend J Lo’s singing career, but bring up her marriage to that man who once groped a MTV VJ on live tv and I will become her biggest champion. Y’all are not about to blame his problems on her because she’s Brown, and just so happens to be annoying af.
translating things is really fun. way more than you'd expect it to be. "i should do this more often" - you may think to yourself. but watch out! or you'll end up needing to ramble about grammar
do you sometimes also think about the great fire of london and how there probably weren't just six people who died but hundreds maybe thousands of people whose deaths went unrecorded bc they lived in the poorest part of the city that was turned entirely to ash by a fire so hot it left no human remains and bc no officials cared about these people they're left out of the story to this day. bc i do all the time tbh
one thing to know about me is that i have absolutely no empathy for women who know they’re genuinely attracted to men (including in their past) and yet call themselves a lesbian
idk anything about fantasy games but I keep running into comments and posts online that r essentially like “fantasy racism is completely different to irl racism because [insert mechanism or trait that is essential to perpetuating irl racism]”
I completely agree with how you responded to the last anon but ive absolutely seen people make fun of british indian food, a lot in fact, and while I do think they were out of line with the ask they sent, I get their point about usamericans consistently making fun of british poverty food, especially with how horrifically bad classism is in the uk
I'm 100% sure that british indian food is, in the broader picture, mocked way the hell more than any white-originated food is.
And also, in the context of this conversation, that's not what was happening.* The point of that comparison was that if someone is making fun of white british food- even if you find it in poor taste- it is not actually appropriate to then mock a bunch of black american food and say it's "deserved" because the US government is bad.
*As far as I'm aware, anyway, considering I still have not seen whatever post anon was acting like I had seen. And if it was, that would be shitty, and it would also still not be okay or "deserved" to mock black american food in retaliation.
