So happy with how this came out god, its such a treat for my eyes seeing the Famicom box art back in high quality and in such a beautiful package. It's not perfect but goddamn I don't care I love everything here so much and there's still a lot of fun little details that just make me screm :'D

Crazy to think it took decades to get here, through years of pc emulation and third party repros, by word of mouth and passion from fans and developers alike..... for a while I was sure it would be forgotten eventually.

But we made it. It feels unreal but Gimmick finally has official, physical release again and that's so fucking awesome :')

Amellia 'Bug' Herrera is an adopted girl who is the most recent to move up to Colorado. She loves bugs, like bad, and perfers the winter chills over the heat. They were actually misgendered alot when they first got to South Park, but they didnt mind? Idk ask her she has no fucking idea. She's in the schools band and often switches from strings to strings, trying to find the right one for her. Her adoption was a closes one, meaning she has no idea who her biological parents are. Only her moms know for emdical emergencies, as her bio father has a family history of heart diseases.

"Ice Queen" is a villain who just wants to be left alone in an ice palace across the sea (Starks Pound). She has a kingdom, but only for herself.

Mothsto is an energetic fuck, like super bouncey, and has a weakness to flashlights.

She has a relative in South Park by blood, but doesnt know it.

Zoey Aguilar is a hot headed, brash, and all around bitchey prrson to be around. She is of Mexican decent on her mothers sode and ginger decent on her fathers. Amellia is her adopted cousin, and the two are very close. Like super close, Amellia's family moved up to Colorado both for better pay, but also for family support.

Captain Lucky Tooth is the ruler of the seas and the only person allowed to trade with the Ice queen, making their stocks high on price. Their actually really joyus and fun to be around.

Prick-ja is like Zoey cranked up to 10, but now you add stealth onto it. She wants shit done her way, right away. And if you dont? Well fuck you she'll just do it herself.

Brigiette Elsher is the most vague of the girls, she's often quiet and listens to the girls rather then talks. But that doesnt mean she doesnt have something to say, of caught at the right moment, she will ramble about the current analytics of reality tv shows and the current new cycle. She's very obsessed with the media, which is funny cause she cant see! Yup she is blind, retinitis pigmentosa, it slowly progressed till she was 5, where she full lost her sight.

Monk Elf was supposed to be a place holder name, but she forgot to pick a permanent one so that what she stuck with. Even thought she's an elf, she often puts medical stuff above all else (drama er shows) and will heal anyone if they request.

Miss Marble-Mayhem is a sourcer, and like Dr. Timmy, often stays out of fights and provides buffs to her team. Its said her staff lets her see into the future, they called it cliche though, so legality of it in the game is still up in the air.

Chelsey Brooks is the younger sister of Classi, who is her legal guardian, and is basixally the leader of their little group. She has an infatuation with birds, and hopes to at least skydive once in her life. She's really smart, 3rd rank behind Kyle and Wendy, and helps run the schools news team. She is tall, like super tall, and is a year older due to being held back in 2nd grade. It was due to family stress which cause her and Classi to leave their old town. She thrives in South Paek though!

Barbarian leader is often Chelseys way of letting her anger out. She's aggressive with her tatic and wishes to gain control over the land for golry rather than the betterment of people.

Wise Wing is their lil side groups leader. She trys to act more mature, and puts on a more serious persona when in this role. And because I played through her on the hardest mode, she is extremely powerful.

Her and Zoey have a will they wont they sorta relationship, but they're like 10 so dont take it too seriously. They just like each other in the Craig and Tweak way.

And thats it, thats my oc rant. I wanna just write shorts about them, maybe have em interact with the other kids. The worst is maybe a short story about Zoey and Chelsey or Amellia and Kenny (ocxcannon sue me). But really I know myself and ill get burnt our after like 3-5 chapter so idk. Random Xiaolin Showdown Headcanons: Favorite Disney Princesses

Omi: Mulan (of course). First and foremost she is a WARRIOR. And she's known as THE hero who saved China, the SAVIOR of China. This woman is Omi's life goal. Plus they both have sassy dragon sidekicks. After the other monks show Omi this movie, he spends the next week searching the temple grounds for his own lucky cricket.

Kimiko: Tiana, partly because she and Tiana are both daddy's girls, partly because Tiana also definitely has a temper but she keeps it cool for the most part (Kimiko is working on that). Kimiko also likes Tiana's "get it done" work ethic, and that she's an entrepreneur. Also that she doesn't fall for the hotshot prince right away.

Clay: Ariel. Look, Clay loves the classics PLUS Ariel is such a little anthropologist. She wants to learn more about the world outside her home, and Clay can relate. Also the fights with her dad, he can definitely relate to that. (I was considering Jane from Tarzan as well, but she's not an official princess 🤷🏾‍♀️) (Clay also likes parts of Pocahontas, especially the music, but he just can't get behind the white-washed Disneyfication of her story.)

Dojo: Raya. I don't think this one needs explanation (also I haven't actually seen this movie so I am purely going off the title. And so is Dojo.)

Raimundo: Isabela (Encanto) doesn't count, but his first choice is definitely Isabela - she's pretty and can be very classy and refined, but she's got a wild, mischievous side to her. And she definitely has a temper. Also she knows all about that big, intergenerational family struggle. Out of official princesses though, Moana. She's another go-getter type, but when she does leave home, she's doing it to try to save her village. And he really liked the music in Moana. (Clay really liked Moana's pet pig, Pua. He was disappointed by the lack of Pua screen time in most of the movie.)

a/n: i did a bit of background research but i mostly went off gut feeling, and i'm no professional when it comes to fragrances and i haven't actually smelled any of these in person, so please correct me if i'm wrong about any of them!! i added fragantica links if anyone wants to check them out.

satoru gojo

i dunno why but i always picture gojo to smell kinda soapy?? not in a bad way but just a very clean, fresh, dove bar kinda smell. i can't picture him smelling overly masculine or mature, it just doesn't seem to fit how i view his personality and all that. i don't think he'd go for more juvenile smells either, but definitely something a bit lighter and fresher than heavy, musky colognes.

so for this i've matched him with prada amber pour homme. from what i could find, it has very soapy and clean notes of neroli and citrus as well as a bit of spice to it. it also supposedly smells very expensive and high quality, which i think would also fit as something for gojo to wear given the fact that he's, yk, fucking loaded.

suguru geto

geto has always given me earthy, oud-y vibes. probably the monk getup and that one figure of him with a smoking pipe. i feel like he'd smell of a woodsy, smokey incense with maybe just a teeny bit of playful floral - overall masculine and mature but with a bit of youthful playfulness.

for that, i've decided to match him with oud essentiel by guerlain. it's a unisex perfume that has top notes of agarwood, leather, and saffron. definitely gives vibes of mystery and luxury, it's described as a darker and heavier fragance with a nice bit of smokiness.

kento nanami

i can't help but imagine him with a very nice, simple, classic masculine fragance. i'm not really too much of a nanami girl (i get the appeal tho) but he seems like such a classic guy. musky and leathery scent for sure, with maybe a bit of light woodsiness.

givenchy gentleman feels like a good fit for nanami. from what i've read it's a very classy, masculine cologne. there's top notes of pepper and bergamot that give it a spicy sort of smell as well as a powderiness to it that then fades out after some wear. supposedly it's a very mature, masculine and 'daddy'ish cologne.

choso kamo

choso gives me kinda sweaty vibes. i say this with all my heart as a choso girlie, i think he smells at least a bit BO-y. not because i think he's dirty, but some people just sweat a lot, yk?

i think haute concentration by yves saint laurent. it's a masculine fragance that has some herbal notes that would work well with a BO smell rather than against it (mask the worst of it and enhance the muskiness). it also has citrus and spicy notes, which i think adds a fresher and more comforting touch, and is described as a slightly dated but still enjoyable sort of masculine scent.

Romance and Sex in Fanfics

Recently @monk-of-figaro brought to my attention the subject of writing romanticism (thank you sir ❤️), in particular Edgar’s chatter. I happen to have my own Edgarness in this regard (I know ridiculous extremes of infatuation), but on my first serious writing attempt I debated myself during the entire process about how I wanted to go about this.

With the flirting styles, I felt like I got to know the characters (or I conformed to whatever ideas of them that came to mind) as I went along writing their dialogues and inner monologues. But I couldn’t make up my mind about how to describe sex scenes. I worried that if tried full masturbation-worthy smut, it would be detrimental to the other 95% of the story.

I ended up keeping it quick and non-explicit (for better and for worse), but what I intended to emulate might be useful for general flowery, romantic stuff.

Back to my doubts about the sex scenes, I also worried that watering it down would ruin a good opportunity for some sexy action in the style of Game of Thrones or True Blood: sex being just another legitimate event in a series of events (I put those scenes there for reasons beyond me being a horny one).

Then I remembered that back in the day when TV signal was received through an antenna, censorship used to be a thing; action was not gory and sex-scenes were a few seconds of a straight couple fully clothed doing hip moves in a poorly lit room. And then I remembered that back around those days, music was also non-explicit.

Some 99.99% of romantic ballads are about the sexual act, and unlike TV dialogue, songs typically use a more lyrical tone and metaphors; they’re more like love poems. So if I may provide a writing tip, try getting ideas and inspiration from songs 😉

My native language is Spanish and there’s a couple of songs in Spanish that live in my head rent-free for their sexiness and no other reason than that. Here are some translated verses:

The latest tribute for my awesome friend @skykain and their Skaven gals (modern versions) with their ‘Music Bands’ once again, this time featuring the main crews and additional details for their alt-rock and metal (mostly) band called the “Morrslieb.”

Brief story of the band:

It's start when 'Waffle', who had a part-time job in a modern world as DJ decided to team up with 'Martha' and 'Globi' who cover pop & rock songs as their hobby (being a music enthusiast like Waffle, Martha was the one who do this stuff first, Globi like it and join later) and 'Ratly' who is interested in Rock & Metal music in general for making a music band together and play a various kind of "cover songs" and their own songs in nightclubs. The result was great, and the band could be able to made it into bigger stages from times to times. 'Jezza' later join the band, although it takes quite a lot of persuasion for her to join since she's a lonesome type of girl and mostly cooperated and/or tagged along with Martha for personal reasons.

However, Ratly later asked her friends to separate from the band and join the Hard-core gals (Silvia, Packie, Gutty, and later Hilda) creating another band that mainly cover Heavy Metal songs called "The Rodents". The rest of Skryre gals understand her and have no problem with it and she can still return to help her former band for playing drum again for sometimes. As for the empty position, it was replaced by Grinda who unexpectedly offer her help and show her drum skills to everyone.

1. After a discussion with SkyKain, a suitable Warlord as a guest for Morrslieb would be Ikit Claw since she likes some of the more elegant or classy music and there are a lot of Skrye apprentices here.

2. The message on Martha's guitar refers to the Red Hot Chili Peppers/RHCP' amazing performance at La CIGALE in Paris, 2006. Particularly John Frusciante's (a guitarist, one of Martha fav idols)'s performance during “Don't forget me.”

3. Grinda developed her interest in music after seeing her friends playing the cover songs during their rehearsals. She decided to choose drum as her main instrument by seeing Ratly and some of the famous drummers as her inspirations. For the latter, the examples are; Karen Carpenter - a vocalist (mainly) and drummer from the Carpenters, and Chad Smith from RHCP.

However, with her personal reasons, she decides to learn how to be a professional drummer in her own way by secretly taking jazz classes alone (Ikit approve this, btw). She later shows the skills she learned so far to her friends and was immediately accepted into 'the Morrslieb' band not long after Ratly informs everyone that she wants to join 'the Rodents' and the band plan to recruit a new drummer.

4. Also note if the band wanna cover RHCP, the suitable bassist for this is gonna be Packie (as a main guest), I believe she's the one who is skillful enough and being so energetic like 'FLEA' (the band's bassist and usually regarded as one of the best bassist players in the world, also one of her fav idols for several reasons, lol XD). While the (main) vocalist I think it's gonna be Waffle.

Inside the box there is at least 10 packed butt-shaped pillows identical to the picture sent in messages, all with different colors for variety's sake. There is also a funny gray colored sleep mask with a big "BOTTOMS" embroidered in gold on the front, and a fairly normal pillow also described prior in messages. Rejoice!

Especially when he knows there's been an increasingly curious crowd of people who wonder what kind of mail he receives. Packages of varying sizes, at times coalescing with powers, at others just having an undeniable aura that intends to radiate. Maybe it could simply be chalked down to how aspects belonging to him just have an aura now after being such an active treasure hunter.

Yet, he'd quickly secure his package and quickly bring it back to his room post haste. For you see, Caelus prepared for this very delivery, preparing through the training of constant combat without sleeping for two whole days. Returning to the Express for a fresh shower, allowing this moment of reckoning to be introduced. For when he tears open these very parcels with precise delicacy..

Light.

For deep within this bounty would be the cherished pillows of LEGEND, an abundance of them, all specified to the direct parameters that only a true soul upon the Path of Thickess would truly understand.

His voice would momentarily ring throughout the Express as Aventurine's message was caught. Weariness found itself daunted and triumphed over, and within this moment, Caelus has never been faster in ensuring each and everyone of these pillows were safely secured by their respective cases. Upon the glorious realm known as his bed, Caelus proceeds to bust out a calculator and protractor, visibly charting out the appropriate courses to ensure they're all relegated at appropriate points upon his bed. Even now, all he could think of was his good friend Aventurine, that swell son of a gun who always held a classy smile and a winning chip.

He really will have to go the mile in ensuring he's taken care of. As the sleep mask that dons a proud phrase upon it's fabric was drawn, he'd give a clap of his hands, allowing the lights to dim down into nothingness. As he'd hop to his bedside that's ignited with the luster of starlight and various nebulae outside the window, he'd lean back, reading over the letter from the granted light as a rowdy grin settles on his face.

"Partnership, huh? Looks like I gotta up my game to keep my end of the bargain. This is no low stakes share he's offered here.. and.." And thus, Caelus's head would immediately plop down onto one of the many peach shaped pillows, pure tension distilling from his muscles as a pure exhausted sigh escaped him.

Rather than think deep from this point on? The letter is set to his tableside as the 'big BOTTOMS' mask was donned, introducing him to a comfy world of darkness.

It would be at this moment, Caelus would find the miracle known as rest. MONK-E has failed.

Set (oc) Headcanons

In a spin-off, Set “Setsuna” Hatem is the protagonist.  In this story, he travels to worlds, realms, and sometimes alternate realities via his moving cafe and cosmic horror, Grandma Cave.

He offers a range of things; from food to requests or favors.  So, as long as the favor does not involve a sexual escapade.  He is happily taken, after all.  He does welcome flirtations just as long as the person knows they are flirting with someone happily taken.

He had a one-night stand with a vampire.  Needless to say, he will never again be the bottom for the undead.  He had to regenerate a certain area the next morning.  His best friend, Chandra, had to make sure he was okay.  He was not for a few days.

Set is pansexual and panromantic, and while he is a proud member of the lgbtqia+ community on Terra, he likes to keep things classy unless you are a close friend.  Then he will warn you about some things the paranormal community offers.  That being said, he is monogamous and happy with Kamaria (Vela), my friend’s character.

Set is a Siciliaa, a Nervous System manipulator.  This means he can control the brain and nerves.  He can make you receive pain slower or faster.  He is a psychic with various abilities in the psychic fields.  His main elements are light, darkness, and lightning.  He is also able to manipulate the soul.  His wife has aether manipulation.  She can touch souls.

Set, alongside Kamaria (Vela) and his twin sister Samira, wrote Terra’s equivalent to the Book of the Dead.  One of the chapters, explains the directions to necromancy.  It is the world’s first written documentation of necromancy.  It also describes the rules and ethics within necromancy or puppeteering the dead.  Set, Kamaria (Vela), and Samaria in ancient times would ensure people adhere to the rules they wrote.

In the real world, Set is Egyptian or Northeast African.

Set and his twin sister Samira founded the (Ancient Egyptian) equivalent civilization on Terra. Both twins were married to Kamaria (Vela) and Alderamin, the Soulsmith, respectively.

Set is named “Setsuna” by a monk from Ninokuni after discovering Grandma Cave.  The name “Setsuna” comes from Sanskrit for “a moment; an instant”.  It is originally associated with Buddhism (in the real world as Terra does not have ANY existing terrestrial religion).  The equivalent would be having Sumeer the god of knowledge and the God of Enlightenment as patron gods.  However, these gods would most likely go by different names within the countries and cultures of Terra.

“Setsuna” was the name given to him by a monk because Set confided to him about his adventures in other worlds, realms, and sometimes alternate realities.  Many of these stories included heartbreaking revelations that he had failed the person’s request. That anything can be changed in a single moment.

Set is named after the god of chaos and deserts from Earth, but it is simply a name on Terra. Like his namesake, he is actually a protector or guardian.  Like his namesake, he is also made a fool sometimes.

Since you've sent me a ranking, allow me to send you one - three favorite legendary creatures?

Oh man that's a tough one, I sure love creechur. But (mario voice) here we go!

1- The Tarasque.

Such an absurd creature, an ancient pre-christian gallic myth that survived all this time, with the story of its demise still being celebrated in the original village where it supposedly happened to this day? Very difficult for me not to be completely entranced by this strange beast and having my heart filled with affection for it.

I mean. Just look at it. ♥

2- Dragons

Though the Tarasque technically is a dragon, I do have to add them to that list, the more common ones people think of when they hear that name.

It's an undying classic, powerful and classy, and you can absolutely never go wrong with those beasts. They always slap. Never fails.

3- The Monkfish (or Sea Monk)

I'm just. I'm fucking. Biaised towards that poor pathetic creature. Like. I mean. Just look at this fucking thing.

This is a monk fish. It was supposedly found somewhere in the 1500s. Apparently it does fill some sort of ecclesiastic role to bless the mermaids down there or something. Like I'm being straight up this is what they said back then. THis is so fucking funny to me. My friends and I found out about it in a book about sea myths on a vacation and we cried laughing at him for the whole week we were there and now he's legitimately our symbol.

I'm talking 'printing a flag with this goddamn drawing on it' symbol. Taking this flag wherever we go and putting it up proudly like we're the monkfish nation.

Monkfish truthers rise up. We out there.

What does Shaozhen even look like?

Hello! Thank you so much for the ask :D I definitely plan on posting a sketch of him in the near future and there are still a few things that I must decide on about his final design but I'll try to answer your question as accurately as possible!

Appearance-wise, he's very much a fusion between my own version of Sanzang and Wukong (that you can see in said previous post I made): he's closer to Sanzang in size (1m70 as opposed to Wukong's 1m60) and looks more human-like than Wukong. Basically, where Wukong looks very much like a humanoid monkey demon, Shaozhen looks more like a human with monkey-like features (like his nose/mouth area and ears are more monkey-like, and he also has fangs and claws), he has white/blond/light-colored fur covering most of his body (not as much as Wukong's though) but he's missing a tail. He has similar eyes to Wukong's but gentler and his sclera is lighter with blue (?) irises (still haven't decided yet). Overall, despite his demonic heritage, he kinda has an angelic/saintly air about him, "pure" for a lack of better word. Since I picture both Sanzang and Wukong as being rather beautiful (though in their own, different ways), I also imagine Shaozhen to be the same but I will need to draw them side by side to really differenciate the different ways I imagine them to look, which is similar enough to notice their relation to each other but also different enough that they all look unique and like their own person, which is difficult to put in writing alone.

(Although, bear in mind that in my story, he's only known as Sanzang's child at first, which is already taboo enough on its own given Sanzang's status as a monk, and not Wukong's, which is why Shaozhen usually hide his appearance. He's already being ostracised and shamed for being the son of a monk, especially one as famous as Sanzang, and since he and his group are often relying on people's charity during their travels, he cannot afford to let people know about his true nature as it would both further compromise Sanzang's reputation as well as his group's ability to find shelter and whatnot, given that they're all demons and Shaozhen is considered the only "normal" one in their group.)

His clothes are honestly the coolest part of his design in my opinion: he wears long, all-white robes that covers the entirety of his body and a large straw hat with a long, half-opaque white veil that mostly hides his face from view. He also wears several pieces of golden jewelry that are actually power limiters, kinda like Wukong's circlet. He's known to never reveal his face under any circumstances, which he likes to claim is because of "spiritual reasons/modesty", which causes a lot of people to gossip about him but he honestly couldn't care less. Underneath his robes, he wears a black, sleeveless turtleneck shirt and combat pants for when he needs to fight. Basically, he looks very regal, elegant and refined as per his monk status but when he's angry or fighting, all this refinement goes of of the window. He's also way more laidback when in the company of his friends alone, it's just that he has to pretend a lot and be composed most of the time, lest people find out his secrets. Shaozhen is also never seen without his fan and antique cigarette-holder because he's classy like that.

I have scoured the net trying to find the actual back story to this game and have come up short. However, based on conjecture from the cutscenes and what little I’ve found, here is what seems to be going on. A dragon cult is rising in the land. A young virgin named Lena has a child who is either to be sacrificed or used as a figurehead (as is evident in the cutscene where an expressionless older child sits on a thrown during a cult ceremony; I gather he is a puppet, or the clip is a premonition to what Lena’s baby is to become. Lena and her perhaps immaculately conceived child are in a separate, dark chamber).

Lena steals away to the town of Yalem where she puts the infant at the doorstep of a church before herself becoming a spirit. Four people will wander by the baby’s basket. If players push the cry button, the person investigating will adopt them! Depending on a choice between four potential parents, the child will be raised as a swordsman, thief, wizard, or monk. The child will grow from 5 years old to 10, and then when 15 years old the adventure begins. I surmise the character is sort of a messiah who is to overthrow the demon taking control.

I’ve seen Seiya Monogatari translated as “A Christmas Tale”, “A Christmas Eve Tale”, and “A Starry Night Story”. It was to be the first act in a three-part series, but unfortunately, it became the last game Hudson published for their little PC Engine that could. It would also be remade for the Sega Saturn. Sadly, such a great game slipped into obscurity much like the great system for which it was designed. It really is a showpiece in many ways, try it and you’ll see.

The development team MASTERED the PC Engine's color palette, and you will not find better tile work in an RPG on the system. Amazing touches like falling snow, footprints left behind, and the ability to open or look inside practically anything show how much heart went into this production. In battle scenes, characters run toward foes on a multilayered parallax-scrolling field that made me take a step back when I first saw it. I just didn’t expect a PCE RPG to have such an element. When flipping switches or pulling ropes, you actually see the movement of the levers.

Even though it’s in Japanese, one can tell the voice actors are of the highest quality. You can hear the emotion and inflection in what they’re saying, and the recordings are clearly of professional quality. The music is top-notch whether it’s the Redbook or PCM which takes over in some buildings. Catchy, memorable, and classy.

Weapons, items, and stats have pictures coinciding to help the Japanese impaired. Many items can only be used by their respective class of warrior and through the 17 areas you’ll eventually have four in your party. Unique to this RPG is the fact there is no leveling up! Your stats update based on your battle performance, but there is no great and lofty number you have to work toward. In fact, this is more about exploration and finding the next path, battles only happen in specific areas, and you can see the creature you’re about to get into it with (no random pop-up). Also unique is the “Holix” system. Holixes are treasure items that aid magic, power, and healing. You have to mix and match Holixes to get the effect you’re looking for.

From the first scene of snow falling on the hilltop church, I fell in love with this game. As long as you “read” everything on shelves and talk to everybody, you shouldn’t hit roadblocks. A wonderful send-off to Hudson Soft's adventures with the PC Engine, as they say goodbye to the PC Engine.

Yippee! Thank you tumblr mutual starredforlife <3 Oh boy, D&D NPC time, this post might be a bit of a long one… I may not be the best explanatory writer right now, but I tried. :’)

Alba Elûmoine (World Setting: Trita, Deltarra, Other)

A is pretty easy since Alba is a beloved recurring NPC of mine. Alba Elûmoine, or stage name “Alba Alabaster”, is a Tiefling with Ice Devil heritage. He’s a cleric, usually of a setting’s moon goddess (Selûne, Deonora, etc.), and is legally blind. He’s typically soft-spoken, polite, and pleasant to talk to, but can be stubborn and brazen if the situation calls for it. Born to be sassy, forced to be classy.😔 It depends on what setting he appears in, but he typically works as a courtesan and often attracts clients wishing to keep their identity a secret(in his early life he makes a lot of extra money blackmailing clients who think he is more blind than he actually is). In settings where he is older and more wealthy he’s an avid collector of magical and historical artifacts and will often hire adventurers to fetch things for him. Love this guy, he’s so fun, I think I’ve had him as a character since maybe like 2018, maybe 2017? Thankfully he’s been very beloved, so I was not short on finding art of him. <3

Khovid Va Otsukimi (World Setting: Deltarra)

This is my warning and reminder to all GMs and OC creators to say your characters names out loud, or mid D&D game you might accidentally end up with a character named Covid, even though it’s not spelled the same way... Khovid Va is Elven and a shopkeeper in the city of Ebon'rana. His shop is called “Glasshopper” and he specializes in selling magical weapons. He’s mute and has a large horizontal scar across the front of his neck, as well as a scar across his left cheek by his mouth and right eyebrow. He can do that cool thing where he can write upside down and does that at his counter to communicate with guests (and show off). His fun trivia and secret lore is that he faked his own death and ran away from his noble family in the Feywild because they wanted him to basically become the next leader of the Autumn Court and he couldn’t take the responsibility. Khovid Va is his full first name! He just has a two-part first name. Yes, I created him in 2020, no I did not realize at the time that I named him Covid until it was too late… I don’t have many drawings of him, but here’s a very small old sketch of him.

Jortly (World Setting: Deltarra)

I actually have very few NPCs who have names starting with J so this took me a sec, but then I was reminded of Jortly (thank you hedgie). Jortly is a Tortle monk and a son of one of my player’s characters. Think about combining a turtle with one of those stretchy blue sticky hand toys and that’s basically Jortly. He talks like he’s so worried all the time and his catchphrase is “Oh gosh”.

Phonoko Silverscribe (World Setting: Trita)

Archivist Phonoko Silverscribe is one of the three head mages of the Harmonic Circle Mage’s Association, and right-hand to the High Mage. He’s an older Aarakocra gentleman with a bit of a nervous demeanor. He and his team are in charge of magical archival information for the association as well as he basically keeps everything in order for the other two top archmages. There’s more to him as well, but I have a couple of my players following me here who are playing in this setting right now, so I can’t reveal too much at the moment, he might be a more relevant character at a later time. :)) this drawing and design of him is by @hedgehogofspades!

I just finished reading Ava Gardner's book and oh my God she was scandalous! I love Old Hollywood but it always pisses me off when people say how classy stars from that time were when most of them were depraved. The amount of things the studios had to hide about their stars life to the public...

Depravity has existed at all times, modern and ancient. Classy means "elegant", and wasn't Old Hollywood elegant? I don't think anybody imagines someone living like a monk just because he looks classy and elegant, that would be too naive.

What do you mean you love Old Hollywood? To love the movies you don't have to know the private life of the stars. To be a fan of certain personalities is a different thing, and you either accept them the way they were or you don't.

New Item Unlocked: 🗺️ The Map of Yu! 🗺️ Very niche powers and applications, but it's a good tool for the monks who have to keep an eye on whose trying to expand their evil territories! I'm expecting this to come up in a big way later! Though I'm not sure how. So Pandabubba has an established Dominion but Wuya's still up in the air after everything with Jack and Chase... Well, that's a crime boss for you. 🐼🐼🐼

I thought that Hannibal must have broken Gigi out of containment at first! This still manages to have Hannibal and Gigi's fingerprints (?) all over it by the end, just with an unexpected added element too. New season means new villain! A new villain that Kimiko recognized from a parody in her video game! (⚖️Hope she doesn't sue! But it's probably fair use though and the Tohomikos have way stronger lawyers so I'm not even worried about that!) A new villain who's trying to push us out of a TV-Y7 rating with that pottymouth internal dialogue! "Damned monks"?! Keep is classy Cattleya! 🤬 I'm happy that Bean's still going to get his time in the sun in this season too even with that pattern continuing, because Hannibal never actually got to capitalize on any big hinted plans back in season 3. He'll be stealing some time from this new scientist lady because he's not satisfied with what he's had so far! On one hand, it's hard to feel bad for Cattleya after what she did to the monks and is trying to do with that plant. The monks were just getting their get-back. But on another hand, she's going to be working with Hannibal now: and unless your name is Ying-Ying, that doesn't usually tend to go over well for anyone ever. 😰😰😰😰 I wonder if she'll come to her senses or if she's in for a downward spiral and a race to the bottom... I wanna see where she goes!

In addition to the new evil scientist villain and the familiar Hannibal Roy Bean, I see there's as well as the return of a classic enemy from all throughout the series since the very beginning: monk in-fighting!! 🤼

This whole transition to the new order hasn't been going very smoothly for anyone!

But at least they saved Brazil in the end! 🇧🇷 Raimundo was really on edge about his home being targeted again. That quiz show showdown was so creative! You managed to add action and stakes and pacing into a geography test! What an action-packed nail-biter, and it was a Q&A!! And Rai did pretty good, but even if he had the homefield advantage, this was a bad match to accept against a PHD scientist who also calls Brazil home. How unlucky. (Omi's concern about "Raimundo's mother's barn" was super funny, I LOLed! When him and Clay's manners of speeches collide we're always in for a hilarious and confusing time!)

We even got to learn that Clay's Uncle Freddy and Uncle Johnny are the exact same type of sports fan, which feels like important information! Just how huge is this family? Bailey Family reunions have to be absolutely wild! I just hope they don't serve Clay's Grandma's pork and beans there... 🍲🥣

🤠🤠🤠 Clay was a standout key player a lot today! 🤠🤠🤠 His Sphere of Yun idea was great! I'm happy to see the Sphere actually used to just straight up steal someone else's positions like it's intended purpose is! And that settled the budding argument about honor vs practicality between the leader and the lancer again!

But all four monks had huge contributions to today's events! So like Master Fung says, they're definitely earned themselves a nice rest after all that excitement! 💤🥱😴 Until next episode, rest well little monks!

I needed a very specific kind of character for this season to feed into Hannibal’s own needs and so Cattleya was born~ sadly she immediately jumped into the wrong crowd which is going to, without a doubt, cause issues for everyone! [including that lawsuit you mentioned 🤣. I have absolutely joked about having that happen with my beta readers!]

And, yes!! I was so excited to bring the sphere of Yun back in the same(ish) context we saw it in in New World Order! It’s such a specific power but it let the kids get control of that plant so it was perfect here!

And I’m glad you liked the showdown~ I honestly have a lot of fun figuring them out and setting up the scenarios to make them into an actual world-shifting fight!

And I do love mixing Clay’s southernisms with Omi’s own malapropisms~ it really is quite the combo 🤣
