In this world, people’s trust can be statistically calculated. As long as

Summary:

The ill-spoken words of a Wish spell lift an entire city from the Sword Coast and drop it into Hyrule's heart. Magic dwindles and vanishes, whole pantheons go silent, and what little stability Baldur's Gate had managed to cling to after the illithid invasion shatters. This was never what Zelda expected to deal with. This was never anything she even wanted. The Kingdom of Hyrule is a distant memory, her role as its princess something she was more than willing to let die with the rest of her failures. With the specter of Calamity Ganon finally starting to fade, she had hoped that Hyrule could come to its own peace, its own governance, without her retaking the throne. But she has a responsibility to fulfill. Frightened people beget chaos, chaos begets death. The Baldurians don't understand the world they've been dropped into, why the full moon shines red, why their spells no longer work, why their prayers go unanswered. If she were to turn a blind eye and wash her hands of the affair, the water she used to clean them would run red with blood. Her crown remains where she left it, hidden beneath a rock at the foot of Mt. Lanayru, her name engraved upon the inside. And it demands to be worn.
