And so Kader rushed off to gather the materials needed for his gift. His sister smiled. Seeing Kader be this excited about something made her happy. Considering all that had happened recently, she knew Kader needed something like this to keep him distracted. Clover headed back towards her room, humming the soft tune her mother used to sing to the both of them.

All the staff in the Whimsain Castle could see was the young prince moving with pace around the grounds. Nobody wished to question what he was doing but could see that whatever it was, it brought him joy. It was a nice sight to see. He'd been incredibly distraught after what had happened so this was the first they had seen him smile in a while.

First, Kader gathered some oak wood, taken from one of the trees in the nearby forest. He frequented the forest when he was young, going with his father on long walks. Next, he collected some of the metal scraps the Terrestrians traded to his kingdom. This trade involved an exchange of rare candies for metal parts. His kingdom was well known for baking the levelling up treats.

He asked two of his staff members, Ted the carpenter and Josey the blacksmith, to assist him in making the parts. There was some parts where he was unsure where to start but he knew he would be given help. Ted, the oranguru, laughed when the young prince decided to use the wrong type of saw for what he wanted to do and decided to take over for a bit. Embarrassed, Kader sat patiently and watched the oranguru work, marvelling at his skill. Ted had been in his family's service for years, crafting gorgeous furniture which were spread throughout the castle. The box had such a brilliant finish to it and Kader was given the opportunity to create some engravings on it. Working with care and precision, he finished after a good few hours. He pulled inspiration from the designs scattered around his kingdom. The tiny stars and swirls were a common pattern found engraved on many of the stone worked buildings. He was impressed. It wasn't as good as his sewing work but he was satisfied with the outcome.

Next came the metal pieces to be placed inside. Josey, an armarouge who had recently come over from Terrestria, had a knack for making delicate and intricate metallic structures and was able to shape the parts needed easily. It was lucky she also had some expertise in music and this definitely helped with getting the pieces to make the right notes. Kader wasn't a big fan of the heat needed for this work but appreciated the time it took her to make what he needed. She smiled at him as she pulled out the cooled tiny metallic tube and comb-like piece from the moulds. They looked perfect and had such a lovely shine to them.

Finally, with some assistance, he was able to piece everything together. It looked fantastic. He was so proud of what had been created. Testing it out by rotating the tiny handle, it sounded amazing. Each note reminded him of both of his parents. He practice singing with it a couple of times, though he soon realised he wasn't the greatest at singing. Regardless, he kept at it until he was able to get the song almost perfect. After carefully selecting some wrapping paper and ribbon to go around it, he wrapped the small box up, quite excited to see the reaction of the Pokémon he was giving it to. He sent a message to the star sending Pokémon, informing them of where to bring the recipient of his gift and what time. Everything was sorted. Now time to get himself ready.

This Pokémon really was something. A Pokémon that could create portals to different places. Kader wondered if he would be able to learn of this power someday. He pushed that thought to the back of his mind and stepped through the golden ring. He arrived in the Golden Oak Forest, the same location where he got the wood for his gift from. He just hoped the other Pokémon was able to make it in time.

Sitting on the bench was a Pokémon he has never seen before. She looked a bit like a gardevoir and so figured that she may be a regional variant of one. He had heard about regional variants from the stories told by the guardian. He approached the Pokémon, a slight nervous tremble in his step.

"Excuse me," began Kader, looking down at the Pokémon, "Are you by any chance the one known as Magpie?" She indicated that she indeed was, which allowed Kader to breathe a small sigh of relief. "It is a pleasure to meet you. I am Prince Kader of the Kingdom of Whimsain, located in Arkaedia. I am glad you were transported to this place without getting lost. Seems the star sending spirit did its job well. I must admit, I don't believe we have your species of Pokémon in our or any of the other kingdoms. I would love to ask you some questions but that's not the reason why I'm hear."

Kader carefully handed the box to Magpie. He waited in anticipation, hoping the gift would suffice. When the wrapping had been removed, Magpie held up a small music box, with small engraved patterns on. Looking inside, the carvings continued and tiny, intricate metal part stood still, eagerly awaiting the twist of the handle to sing its simple song.

"So, I saw that on your list, you wanted something related to music. I am going to be honest, I'm not the most musical Pokémon. However, my mother was. She was a wonderful, kind Pokémon who used to sing many beautiful tunes to my sister and I. I figured that I could share one of those songs as my gift to you. The music box was made with the wood from one of the trees in this forest. I helped with the engravings but my carpenter shaped the box. The metal parts inside were made by one of my blacksmiths. I'm not the best when it comes to work like that so I decided to leave it for her to do. I, with the instruction and guidance of my carpenter and blacksmith, constructed the box together. I hope you like it."

Kader sat down on the bench next to Magpie, shuffling to get himself comfortable."

"Before you take the music box away, I wish to share one of my mother's songs with you. It is a tune she used to sing whenever my sister and I were feeling blue. It used to cheer us up and I hope it will bring you cheer too in dark times."

He was incredibly nervous about this. His mother always made this tune sound wonderful and he knew he wasn't as good as her. However, he knew he needed to try. He cleared his throat and levitated the music box with his psychic abilities.

His voice was soft as he sung. He tried to copy how his mother would have approached the song. The music box sang its melody and Kader felt a sense of joy from it. Finishing the tune, Kader took a deep breath in. He was worried he may have been slightly out of tune but he enjoyed singing it.

So, this is my star sending for @idolmelodies ! I was so excited to get you! As soon as I saw your character wanted something related to music, I knew I needed to make a song. Gonna be honest, I have no musical knowledge so it was a challenge creating a tune but I enjoy figuring out the notes anyway! It was fun considering what Kader would do. Of course, having a mother who loved music certainly helped and when you're royalty you have access to a lot of resources. I hope you have a happy holidays!

If you don't mind, what 'mons do you both have on your teams? (Or in general, if you don't consider yourselves as having proper 'teams' per say)

We both have more than a team of six. And we like to spar sometimes, to keep in shape.

My champion team from my trainer journey is Pierce the Typhlosion, Percy the Crobat, Benjamin the Jolteon, Sheila the Dragonite, Nika the Furret, and Twist the Nidoking. The others that I own are Pelly the Butterfree, Skylar the Togekiss, Ivan the Victreebel, Momo the Ambipom, her Aipom daughter Sunny, and Susan the Gyarados. Oh, and a shiny Diglett named Button.

And my sister-in-law was kind enough to let me take ownership of her Flygon's shiny son, Darren. And I guess I technically own Clover, the Gardevoir, as well, but she doesn't like to be in her ball. I forget that I actually own her.

There are a lot more in the woods that I'm close with, but those listed are the ones I'm the trainer of.

My champion team is Thunder the Feraligatr, Mini the Ampharos, Fang the Arbok, Swift the Crobat, Lucky the Ninetales, and Frenzy the Beedrill! (Don't let his name fool you, he's chill as can be! ^-^)

The others I have are Clamp the Kingler, Atta the Ratticate, and Tate the Hypno.

I also have a Gallade named Dylan, who is Clover's mate.

Finally, a follow up to this post! My work on a Zero Gallade datapack for Pixelmon has been going along swimmingly thanks to the fine folks in the Reforged Discord. What I've got done so far:

Base form textures + emissive

Unique move "EX Slash" which has the consecutive 3-hit effect of Triple Axel, plus Tri-Attack's chance of burning, freezing, or paralyzing (prolly OP, idgaf)

Spawn conditions (currently just one but I may add another)

Separate advancements for catching Zero and Omega

Mega Form textures

"Mega Stone"-type item (currently using a Clover Sweet, because I think I'm funny c:)

Black Clover x Pokemon: The Golden Dawnstones VS The Challenger From The Spade Region

Here’s a detour from my Captains as Gym Leaders series! The Black Tauros was the Gym with the strongest trainers but with the worst win-lose ratio. The Golden Dawnstones is the gym whose trainers produce the best results, but… they have trouble with challengers from the Spade Region.

If you’re wondering why everyone in the Golden Dawn is wearing their original uniforms, it’s because I drew this a few months ago and I didn’t know what the color schemes for their new outfits would be. I had no choice but to guess when I colored Zenon though. 

Regarding the Spade Region - Since it’s such a cold region, I figure everyone who lives there would be adept at raising ice-type Pokemon, along with an additional type matching their own individual preferences. So, Zenon, Vanica, and Dante would all be good at raising ice types plus one additional type that suits their personality, kind of like how they have two magic attributes. 

Regarding the Golden Dawnstones - I decided on the “Golden Dawnstones” because the Golden Dawn is the only squad whose original mascot isn’t a living thing. All the other squads use either animals or plants, so they would all have a Pokemon for a mascot, but since the Golden Dawn uses an inanimate object for their mascot, I decided an inanimate object should be used for their Pokemon-ified squad name too. “Golden Dawnstones” is close to their original squad name, plus it is used to evolve two Pokemon: Gallade (an honorable knight) and Froslass (a violent spirit filled with lingering regrets). I thought those two Pokemon represent the dual meaning behind the Golden Dawn’s existence quite well.

Kissed by the Baddest Trainer! [KBTBB Pokemon!AU] Key Stone Holder HCs

(Seeing as I can't upload the images... I'll write what I did for each bidder for their Key Stones. I'm also including MC and Rhion/Mad Hatter. Credits to @maidofstars and @catchthespade.) 

 Eisuke 

Much like Steven Stone from the Anime and games, Eisuke has a stickpin in his suit pocket for Houndoom 

It's solid gold with his name engraved just below where the stone is (all in Japanese) 

The small dome on the top retracts when Eisuke taps the first character in his last name 

The stone is set into the top of the stickpin but the dome is mostly for protection 

If anyone gets their hands on Houndoom and the Key Stone... 

that's a recipe for disaster and full-on Eisuke wrath... 

 Soryu 

Soryu has two holders for his three Key Stones 

It is really impractical for him to carry three cases and Mega Evolution is his weapon in battle 

Salamence's rests in the jade box I already drew 

Gallade's and Glalie's are in what resembles a bullet case on opposite sides 

The small rectangle case has the team's name written in Japanese with Gallade's on the top and Glalie's on the bottom 

Depending on who he summons, Soryu will tap either his pointer finger or thumb on the respective Key Stone (he has long fingers...) 

Baba 

His Scizorite is on an adaptable hat pin 

He does take his hat off but I designed it so that it can also rest on the collar of his shirt when he's not wearing it 

The hat pin has the Key Stone resting atop of what resembles a bouquet, said stone acting as the flowers It's a shade of red that won't clash horribly with the hat, suit, shirt, nor Scizor 

Ota 

Ota's Key Stone for Ampharos is on a necklace and Lopunny's is set into a pin 

The necklace is a stylish asymmetric design around the stone (and it does work since he's already wearing one canon) 

The pin is in the shape of a red diamond (because Ota is the diamond queen in this Royal Flush) 

Mamoru 

I'm still laughing at myself for how I colored the matchbox... 

 ...it's red and black 

When I first saw his name... 

I first thought Tuxedo Mask/Kamen from Sailor Moon...

The box is black with a smaller rectangle in red, kanji for ''match" in the center 

All Mamoru has to do is push the box out a bit for the Key Stone to work 

Luke 

Luke's trinket box is blue green with a caduceus under a Poké Ball for Audio 

A small square and easy to hide in his coat or jumper(sweater) 

I'd color it the same as his eyes... but then it'd match more of Soryu's bullet case color... 

Shuichi 

For Metagross, I used a watch 

Alakazam's is stored on one of those high class fancy nib-ballpoint pens 

In order to get to Metagross' Key Stone, Shuichi taps the dial twice 

It is said that the pen is mightier than the sword and mind over matter so I put those two sayings together 

The Key Stone for Alakazam is set into the body of the pen (middle of it) and not the cap 

Only if needed, Shuichi can also use the Key Stone to communicate to Alakazam to the other's Mega Stone (I don't know a lot about psychic communications as much as I know about telepathy... but I did it to an extent of psychometry)

Hikaru 

Considering what his occupation is and the nature of Sableye, a black handle switchblade 

The blade can go out like a pocket knife or with a small hidden switch (not saying where but it's only where Hikaru knows) 

One side of the handle has the Key Stone and the other has a shuriken engraved into it 

MC 

An Ota style bracelet will be a lot like the gift he gives his MC in the White Enchantment substory, a chainlink bracelet 

The Key Stone to activate Gyaradosite is set into a small engraved card charm 

The card has these symbols set in this order: heart, spade, diamond, clover 

A small Joker is on the back 

Rhion/Mad Hatter 

The team that I have in mind for Rhion is based what I can off Alice in Wonderland: Caterpie (will evolve into Butterfree at some point), Gardevoir, Espurr (mostly because it's the closest to Cheshire), Mismagius, Roserade, and Pikachu 

Gardevoir is the Embrace Pokémon and perfect to help Rhion feel more relaxed outside his Mad Hatter getup 

Roserade goes out with him as himself and Mismagius as Mad Hatter (Roserade is female and Mismagius is male) 

Pikachu was found as a Pichu and refuses to even touch a Thunder Stone because he wants to protect Rhion as himself 

Espurr is more like a companion and helps Gardevoir to keep house and makes tea on her own 

Caterpie was saved from some cruel poachers (cuz it was a shiny) while he was Mad Hatter and stayed with him until it became a Butterfree (one can imagine Rhion's surprise when he sees several Caterpie eggs after letting Butterfree go) 

His Key Stone holder is a ring in the shape of a teacup, and is easily hidden under his glove once Mad Hatter

The center of the cup houses Gardevoirnite

But I wanna collect all the berries! I wanna explore every area of the game! I wanna smash the rocks and find fossils and get all the items laying on the ground!!!!!!!

So I designed a team that has all the HMs, and all the moves needed to get the “items in the background of battles” (which require a lot of moves!! I’m using Razor Leaf, Twister, Surf, Rock Smash, and one other I forgot lol maybe Rock Climb? Rock Throw? Idk)

And I have an Absol Thief for stealing items, and Thunder Wave + False Swipes for catching Pokémon :3

AND I JUST LEARNED!!!! There’s LOTS of abilities that affect the overworld???? I knew about Stench, but there’s also Pressure, Magnet Pull, Storm Drain, Intimidate, and a whole bunch more! Including SUPER LUCK!

I had actually trained a Kirlia with Teleport, Mean Look (egg move), Hypnosis, and planned to evolve it to a Gallade for False Swipes. But then I realized “Oh my god. No one on my team can learn Cut?????? What?????” And then I learned Super Luck increases the likelihood of a wild Pokémon holding an item! :0

So I (with great hesitation) sent Kirlia back to the Guild, and brought Absol to the team. She was already level 58 so that was fucking useful lol. Everyone else, I’m raising up from eggs. So I haven’t even been able to explore 😅😅😅

Absol leads the team for now! The Super Luck + Thief combo is perfect for gathering all kinds of items. I’ve got more Poison Barbs than I’ll ever need, an endless supply of Heart Scales (!!!!!), and it’s so fun to do fieldwork to discover potential held items!

I really wish I’d known about the Abilities beforehand though. I’d adore a Magnet Pull, Storm Drain, and Static/Lightning Rod. Or a Suction Hold/Sticky for fishing! Or a “more likely to encounter high levels” or “more likely to encounter low levels” or “increased/decreased encounter rate.”

The good news is, I have a lot of Heart Scales to test out movesets, or even swap them out regularly. I think my Togetic might want to try competitive battles one day. Her Ability is Serene Grace, so she’d be perfect for a Secondary Effect Strategy. Currently she knows Fly, Fairy Wind, Extrasensory (I specifically bred for that egg move because I’m nostalgic for the Soulsilver Togepi hehe), and Metronome. But I know Togekiss can learn some really good moves. Her EVs are focused on Attack, with none for HP (Milk Drink Strategy for healing in the field), and an even moderate spread across the rest. I’m not sure how that would play into competitive battles yet.

Another surprisingly capable battler is Skiddo! Her name is Clover. She has maxed HP EVs, with a mild amount towards Defense, Special Defense, and Speed; 0 towards Special Attack; and a good amount towards Attack. I plan for to learn Milk Drink and Horn Leech. For now, Leech Seed heals it very well, while Bulk Up sturdies it. Then Razor Leaf and Bulldoze are pretty good against a lot of types.

Another Ability I wished I’d thought of was Flame Body for egg hatching. But I have a really strong Talonflame I can use when I need to.
