my new thing is obsessing over a funny little guy for a few months before moving onto another funny little guy
#random thoughts#first it was sans undertale then it was robert dream daddy#and now it's fnaf sunandmoon#my ideal fnaf sunandmoon fic which i will never write because that's where i draw the line#is one in which yn doesn't think sun and moon are. sentient. at first.#and by at first i mean for a large chunk of the story#like yeah he's a robot! he's a very sophisticated piece of ai of course he's gonna be lifelike#sun and moon are designed to learn and adapt and they can SEEM very human but it's important to remember they are not alive#but they still treat sun and moon decently because? why wouldn't they?#like sun and moon are constantly learning ai. it's important to model proper behavior so they know how they and others should act#specifically among freddy's staff! if sunandmoon don't know how staff SHOULD behave then they have no frame of reference#for what behavior should be reported or how sunandmoon are SUPPOSED to act around staff for maximum efficiency#if you get mad at the robot for being damaged and they're designed to entertain#they're not gonna want to tell you next time they get damaged and you can't just rely on scans and weekly examinations#because scans miss things and some damage is too severe to wait for their next examination#in an ideal setting you WANT the animatronics to be able to communicate openly with you because THEY are a tool for their OWN repair#THEY can recognize what is damaged VERY WELL#and if it's a software issue then you need to be able to read their BEHAVIOR. body language and shit#and if sunandmoon are CONSTANTLY ON EDGE AROUND STAFF you're not gonna be able to see a base body language to go off of#also constant stress is bad for machines. like running the same commands over and over again until overheating. bad for babey#and of COURSE they're gonna help around the daycare!!! THE DAYCARE ATTENDANT IS NOT SUPPOSED TO BE A REPLACEMENT FOR HUMAN WORKERS#the daycare attendant is a GIMMICK. a NOVELTY. a TOOL meant for the use of the human daycare attendants#a forever playmate who remembers every detail about every child under their care? who never tires and isn't affected by cleaning chemicals?#they're so USEFUL! a supplement to the human daycare attendant!#like a swiss army knife of rainy day games and orange slices#it's a horrible shame the owners of the pizzaplex got cheap and stopped hiring human daycare attendants to save on labor#because the daycare attendant works best when they have someone else's behavior to model. otherwise it gets caught in a loop#which constantly degrades and simplifies. like recording a recording over and over again until all you can hear is white noise#of COURSE something bad was gonna happen!#and sunandmoon don't really have any opinion on this besides agreeing because they ARE an animatronic.

the scene where Wuvvy rips up the letter Rue wrote to Hob after the masquerade is actually super interesting to me because it feels like another moment that really highlights the difference in how Rue and Hob approach their courts -- both of them do feel a sense of alienation from these places and people, but it's also Starkly obvious that Rue is far more isolated in that than Hob is.
Hob and the other goblins stand at a distance from each other in how much they understand one another, but Hob also still clearly has people in his court that he trusts and depends on even in just minor ways, but this scene in particular really makes it feel like Rue only knows the people in their court to invite them to the Bloom. Even if they thought to hesitate before sending that letter with Wuvvy, it doesn't matter bc they truly don't have anyone else to ask.
#N posts stuff#like after the Duel in the Southern Garden it feels like a given that Wuvvy and Hob should not be interfacing with each other lol#but Rue still gives Wuvvy that letter to deliver it to Hob bc. who else is there to ask?#whereas Hob - even if it's just because he's their military commander - has a myriad of salt goblins that he Trusts#and we know he trusts them bc he sends Them to negotiate those clandestine meetings with Binx#and even if it's a one-off line from Brennan; apparently has a whole Lineage of them that Hob is particularly close to#even though Boil and Blemish are often subtly cruel to Hob he does have several other scenes with other goblins he seems to mostly get#along with - even during the Hedge Maze he seems kind of affable with Grabalba and the others#whereas we really ONLY ever see Rue interact with Wuvvy; and that kind of Serious distance also ties into the very First episode#when Rue doesn't recognize Gwendolyn; bc Gwen didn't get her own invite - Binx stole her sister's. so rue doesn't know her#not to make these tags even longer but it's ALSO interesting to me how those goblins Hob is closest to ARE all salt goblins in particular#(yes it's Probably just bc the joke and affection for them kicked off in ep 1 BUT it is canon and so i will analyze it as such)#given that their size (& life spans probably) would Probably make them sort of The Lowest on the rung in terms of like. classes#seen as somewhat 'disposable' and so it's Neat to think of how those folk are who Hob seems to get along with the best#the single largest goblin and the smallest populace of them united in how they're viewed primarily as Tools by everyone else#d20lb

hey instead of bullying or scaring you into switching to firefox, let me tell you why i LOVE firefox and how my online life has improved significantly since installing it
- the setup process is easy, and even fun! if you’re using tumblr rn, you can handle it, and if you’re the kind of tumblr user who likes customizing your blog or tinkering with xkit, you can have a lot of fun personalizing really granular settings and picking themes and extensions and everything, it’s very customizable and i happily spent like 2 hours getting everything perfect.
- you can use a command line entry tool to change specific settings right from the search bar! i did this to make firefox stop auto filling my email information since i use a different password locker (which you should too! try bitwarden!), and it was easier than digging through a bunch of submenus for a setting i wasn’t sure existed. you can just turn shit off!
- there’s a preset theme called aurora that’s purple and VERY pretty
- once you get ublock origin and as many other blockers as you’d like set up, no ads, anywhere, ever! streaming sites, youtube, all the basics, totally no stress and no compatibility issues for me
- in browser screenshot and picture in picture functions!! holy shit i use these every day, the PiP is especially helpful, it replaced an extension i used to use on chrome and it’s leagues better and works on all video content pretty much
- overall better downloads management imo, it’s a lot easier to get to your downloads and find them later
- better bookmark system, with the ability to organize your bookmarks with searchable tags and assign them a shortcut you can type into the search bar to go to
- containers! you can have two accounts to the same website open in two different tabs and switch between them without having to switch accounts. also gives firefox the ability to contain facebook and their trackers, so you can click that party invite link without feeling like you just let mark zuckerberg into your house
these were just off the top of my head, i love firefox a lot and actively enjoy using it, which i never felt with chrome! please download firefox!! you will not regret it!!! where’s your fucking rage!!!!!! go!!!!!!!!!
