"The body and face of this sculpture are in idealized youth, with plump cheeks and round face, and his hair is usually unkempt..his youthful appearance, large eyes, pouting lips, and layered locks of hair over his forehead are some of the iconography that can be used to identify him"
^ this quote is genuinely still fucking plaguing me. THIS IS LITERALLY SEB???? LIKE LITERALLY 2010 SEB SPECIFICALLY????? It is actually fucking me up how it is literally quintessentially Seb. Like big eyes...plump cheeks and round face...unkempt hair...pouty lips...okay okay okay!!!! And that Antinous is basically the peak perfection of pretty boy from that time, I'm like, yeah that's Seb to me 🥹🥹🤧🤧
But god the "youthful appearance, big eyes, pouting lips, and layered locks of hair over his forehead" Does that quote not evoke pictures like these in your head???????
I feel so unwell about it 😭😭 I am going through it 😭😭

I made a spotify playlist for one of my fav Silm fics of all time "A Thread Unraveled" by ScribeofArda on Ao3 or @theheirofashandfire here on tumblr
Summary of fic: "Maedhros wakes up again, on the first morning of the Nirnaeth Arnoediad.
Of course, nobody calls it that. For them, it hasn't happened yet."
The paylist follows the general vibe of the narrative: Maedhros' realization of the cycles, his struggles, his saving grace, and his determination to succeed in battle with his loved ones alive no matter how many times he has to get back up and try again. The songs genre is mostly: indie, folk, with some musical numbers thrown in because honestly, its not one of my playlists without a musical song or two
This is a brilliant fic so if you havent read it already i would reccomend! It's also an ongoing series and I've probably read the entire thing over a dozen times, its really become one of my favourite comfort fics/series of all time.

have to say I'm still a bit mixed on the re-released troy saga.
I enjoy most of the songs more than the original but there is some small things that annoy me?
(e.g. the horse and the infant is much more imposing, but I feel kind of weird about the way the voices of zeus and odysseus mix at the end now. It sounds more like a song and less like a conversation.
and I gotta be honest, i'm not the biggest fan of how the lotus eaters sound now. the lotus eaters sound far more gremlin like now (which is fun) but it doesn't quite fit with what they looked like in my imagination. They also seem less dazed. which I feel was, y'know, a big part of them?)
but on the other side I do love that the crew sounds a bit more diverse (if you get what I mean) in their voices now. The same goes for warrior of the mind. I like the changes in athenas performance.
the cyclops saga sounds good. a lot cleaner and stronger although the end of survive doesn't sound quite as goosebump inducing imo
but I'm sure that a lot of my reservations are due to the amount of times I listened to the original ones. The changes will probably grow on me quickly xd they are only small hangups after all

One thing I cannot deal with is the way that culture back home is so different with women. Like I busted my ass helping my mother in law clean and get ready for guests and take care of my kid and then on top of that was told to dress nicer all the time. The amount of times my mother in law looked at my clothes I was wearing and said “oh you’re gonna go like that?” Like…yes yes I am. I have ONE hyper critical mother I do not need another one pleaseeeeeee leave me be. Like wow what a way to make someone feel so ugly and stupid? And I don’t feel that way about myself? I truly don’t but wow the way some people make comments and make you feel so ridiculous

Do you even like Sam? Sometimes I think you do and then sometimes I think you don't.
I'm a lot like Sam, so you could say it's both at the same time. I too like hating myself for incredibly abstract things instead of looking at my actions.
And I cerebralize my emotions.
This is a moderately Sam-safe blog, but I can and will drag him.

if you have hair that you can brush when it's dry without it immediately exponentially increasing in volume, please, please, leave me out of your hair care tips. I really, really don't need to hear your opinion on how often I wash it or the products I use. The conditioner weighing it down and making it greasy is literally not possible. It being heavy is a good thing. No conditioner isn't optional. I'm pleased for you that your bristle brush is working for you! But it can only redistribute oils if you can pull it through the hair to start with.
Trying to give hair care advice to someone based on what you do when they have hair with a completely different texture is like trying to apply cactus care tips to bedding flowers. It's like putting wood polish on aluminium. It literally will not work. Do not comment on my hair routine being high maintenance if you have the option to forgo all hair products and only wash it with water and can still wear it loose. What did people do before conditioner? Well with my hair type they were 100% using oil to moisturise it and they also didn't wear it down.
Its not the same. It's not grown dependent on conditioner over time. It's always been dependent on conditioner to look like this. It can not retain moisture by itself. If I didn't condition it I would have to keep it plaited all the time or it would twist in to itself without any input. It only looks similar enough to your hair that you think your tips will work because I've put in an enormous amount of effort to keep it healthy in spite of me wearing it loose and uncovered most of the time. Your hair looks neat when you brush it and the weather doesn't destroy it, we aren't the same.
