Every year I have to call at least three months in advance to schedule my annual gyn exam, because they can't book me for next year's exam when I'm actually at the office because, for some reason, their scheduling software ~doesn't go out a full calendar year~ (???). So like, last year I went in August, and when I was checking out they told me to call next May to schedule my appointment for next August. I mean, seriously… it's 2024. How many patients do you lose bc of this totally nonsensical technological restriction? Literally no one wants to make this phone call. I've been putting it off all month and I can't be the only patient who would love to continue "forgetting" about this task until I completely fall off their roster due to noncommunication. But you'd get like 99.9% guaranteed compliance from me if you could just fucking schedule me when I'm already in the damn office with nowhere to run and my ANALOG PAPER PLANNER READY TO GO, incidentally, jfc!

tumblr draft glitch

so like, i have this long-ass post that's saved in my google docs, & as I'm revising it for a few hours on tumblr, I saved it to start my work shift, but when I come back, I see that it's reverted back to pre-revision. This happens consistently...... Tumblr needs to fix its draft feature!

Does this happen to anyone else? ???

one of my least favorite things about having a working-class background + juggling multiple jobs for ~20 years + struggling with debt since i was ~18 aaand despite my best efforts, still being affected by the mainstream media messaging that millennials are just irresponsible losers who don't want to work and can't manage money, is that i feel guilty for literally any non-"essential" purchase ever. like today, my options for being able to eat food during the workday are: buy a sandwich from a restaurant ($12), or graze on the limited snacks i currently have stashed at my desk (saltines, fruit snacks, peanut butter crackers, coke from the vending machine for added calories). i'm just so goddamn tired all the time, i always struggle with meal planning the night before. i usually keep basic sandwich supplies at work, but i haven't restocked this week bc i'm extra broke and busy rn (bc xmas). i am grateful and constantly aware that despite the Struggle(tm), i do have a kind of safety cushion (the "privilege" of the credit card) and i don't have to beg for money or eat out of the garbage or go hungry anymore. and in fact the worst most poverty-stricken times of my life are very long ago now! but jfc it never ends. i'm just sitting here like "see this is why i will never get out of debt bc i 'treated myself' to not fucking starving today."

I thought switching to the default Tumblr theme would fix the wonky formatting, but there are still problems. The empty title field (I���m guessing) above video posts is one. And quote posts are *completely* broken---and quote posts were my favorite feature! And don’t even get me started on the unusable new UI for creating video posts. Oh, well. Maybe they’ll fix what they broke. I’ll play with the CSS to see what I can tweak in the meantime.

UPDATE: I did a little digging and I guess the formatting issues are related to the new post editor (which I haven’t been using---though I get the reasons for migrating to it). It’s insane that the official Tumblr theme isn’t fully compatible with the post editor they want (and will soon be forcing) everyone to use. Switching to Lavender for now, since it’s billed as fully compatible.
