Fallen Fae: Chapter Two
https://archiveofourown.org/works/62505943/chapters/162843409#workskin
Time hung back, his armor making him appear like a statue against the wall. Hyrule dipped into his shadow and slid to the ground, resting his head against the wall. “Are you okay?” Time asked. Hyrule hummed ambivalently. “Tired.” Their leader chuckled softly. “You did well. Thank you for requesting an invitation.” Hyrule looked up at Time. The older man’s face was nearly concealed by his armor from the downward angle, but Hyrule saw the moisture in Time’s eyes and the tightness in his expression. Time watched the others distantly, as if caught in a memory, his arms crossed tightly in front of his chest. “We have spawn to distribute,” Hyrule said gently. “Iris wants us to take some to another era. That’s as far as we could possibly go, I think.” Time nodded, a wistful smile crossing his lips. “Near and far. The custom hasn’t changed in all this time, has it.” Hyrule raised an eyebrow at Time. “A friend of mine told me about it.” Time shifted uneasily, his mouth opening and closing as he searched for words. “She was—is a child of the forest. I...I wasn’t allowed to be part of the custom directly, but she let me accompany her to the deep forest. She told me the others were taking spawn to all parts of the woods, near to home and as far as they dared go. Saria chose a place near the temple, near the fairy fountain.” Hyrule turned the packages over in his hands. They were starting to wilt along the creases and where spider silk punctured through. He tucked one into his pouch and held the other up to Time. “I think you should choose where to plant her.” Time’s arms unfolded slightly in his surprise. “Are you sure?” Instead of answering, Hyrule raised the package higher, holding it there until Time finally took it. “Thank you, Traveler.... This means a lot.”

what r ur thoughts on moncon so far, based on teasers..?
im offput by the fact that the team is announcing dlc before the game is even out, and i dont understand the decision behind making half of the ROs completely new characters. it feels like the opposite of what you'd want to do with a franchise who's main draw is the characters we already know.. im definitely a little peeved that aaravi is only avaliable as a player-character dlc.
i havent played the demo or analyzed the trailers much so idk how its gonna be gameplay wise.
as ever, i think the rule is that i like the mechanical changes. needing low stats in specific things for certain ROs feels like a natural extension of the monprom formula, and although i do feel conflicted about changing the way choice options work, i think it's broadly going to be more playable for me... i do like how montrip worked with its choice options, but i still feel endeared by the simplicity of the classic system, on just picking whichever option had the stat you were higher in.
but i don't have high hopes for the writing or characters. for some reason, none of the ROs this time stands out to me, besides liam and kinda zoe? i don't really know why the new ROs don't really work for me either, it's both that their designs are very busy but also that they're highly indistinct for me. they all feel really generic in a way that's strange to say, because, like, look at them. they shouldn't feel generic. why do they feel generic. but there's nothing about them that stands out to me, despite the fact that i literally don't know how to parse omen's design. which is kinda sad. i really wish i could like omen.
don't like april. just in general.
judging from the setup for all of the characters and their own little mini-plots for them being at this con, i don't think i'm going to like many of the jokes for this one either. it's just generally not my thing - i'm not a typical "nerdy" kind of person, i don't do fandoms, i don't do these big pop culture things. i don't like all the additional references, i think it relies too heavily on them, etc. but, again, conventions and this kind of fandom aren't my thing. hmu when they actually decide to do a furry con and maybe i'll be interested.
just judging from what's been teased and shown so far, i don't have high hopes for the writing. it looks to be continuing in the same fashion as montrip, and mostly i've just been zoning out and trying to forget this even is a monprom game or even exists. it's kinda sad, because i was really looking forward to more liam, but Oh Well.
#all the care guide says is 'biomass'#asks#monstertsunami#monster prom#as ever the game isn't out yet my opinions can change you can have other opinions this isn't bashing anyone etc etc etc#i don't feel mmmmuch about the DLC.... beyond just wanting to scrub the files for aaravi content#and making pictures sticking her and miranda together#but yeah. it is what it is!#i hate that i like the mechanical changes but loathe the writing ones!

Something that always annoys me is the idea only 1 language learning method works. Which is not true. While it may be possible that, for a particular individual, only a few out of many study methods may work well enough for That Individual to make progress and stay motivated... that doesn't mean all the other study methods won't work for anyone else out there, or that those few methods will work for every other given person.
Obviously if you've been studying a while, then you already figured out what kinds of things work for you and don't. If you're a beginner, just wading into studying?
I would suggest you simply look for study methods that: 1. Teach you new things regularly, 2. Review and practice things you've learned, 3. Include studying things you need for your particular goals (for example if your goal is to read X book then the study materials at some point should involve reading practice and some words the book contains, if your goal is to talk about Y then the study materials should include some information about pronunciation and words you'll need to be able to say).
As you can imagine, a TON of study materials will meet these requirements. And you can study a given skill in a LOT of ways.
(Reading is my focus lol so just for reading, a beginner might: do vocabulary study with lists or conversations with native speakers or watching shows and looking words up or listening to dialogues with a transcript like in a textbook or graded readers or a picture book with word labels in the target language or a video game with labelled objects in target language, all of those things as long as your vocabulary is improving or reading practice is happening would help you make progress). So to improve reading skill as a beginner: you could study with a textbook, a podcast with transcript, a classroom or tutor with words written down in target language (like TPRS), a video game, a TV show and a translate app on your phone, a friend you talk with (who either writes words down or you look up words you hear with a translate app), a friend you text with, srs flashcards like anki (provided there's text) etc. As long as there's new words, and/or you're practicing reading, the study method may work. If it works will come down to if you can stay motivated doing it regularly, and make sure you regularly learn some new things and review/practice things you've already studied.
So consider those things when you see people selling a study method as a product (especially when it's costing you money). Consider if it teaches you NEW things, and are those new things related to your goals, and how MUCH new stuff will it teach you before you finish it? Consider if it provides review or practice, or if you can use it's materials to review on your own making up your own method, or if you'll need to do separate review/practice.
So examples:
LingQ. Can it teach you many new words? Yes, thousands, since you can import any texts you want when you get done with their provided material (I have no idea how much their beginner material covers though in terms of words... I would hope 1000-3000 words but that can be researched). Is your goal reading? It's suited to reading, so you will practice and review often with it. Cost? I think it was $12 a month when I last had it, and the price may have increased. Is it worth it? Depends on a learner's needs. I found it was wasting my money, so I chose to use free tools like Pleco and Readibu apps - since those apps are suited for Chinese learners and have better translations, Pleco has better paid graded reader material if I was going to spend money, and both Pleco and Readibu let me import texts so I can learn thousands of new words just like LingQ but free. Now that I'm not a beginner, I often use Microsoft Edge to read chinese... since I can still click-translate words easily (all my web browsers have that tool free), and Edge's TTS voice is helpful for pronunciation and sounds quite good. I read webnovels online so Edge works well. But it's translations aren't as good as Pleco or Readibu, so if I still needed translations more I would use them. So... is LingQ a good study method? Its certainly a study method marketed to buy. Well... the method is suited to improving reading skill, at least. It costs money, which is a negative, but it does offer a lot. However: everything it does regarding reading can be done free with other apps or sites or web browsers on their own. So if paying money motivates you to read... sure. LingQ does have a few word tracking features a learner may find worth the money, keeping in mind the actual read-to-learn method can be done free without lingq. (Also... while LingQ is a valid option for improving reading, if the learners goal is speaking then it would be important to think of what study activities the learner will do OUTSIDE of LingQ to improve speaking... because I've seen how LingQ is marketed as "how to learn a language" but it's only focused on some skills. It has vocabulary and grammar in some sense, since you'll read a lot and encounter new words and structures. But it doesnt have speaking or writing practice at least last time I was on it. Those activities would need to be worked on, on your own).
You can do that kind of cost/benefit contemplating with any study method material you see being sold. Amother example: there's a beginner Mandarin course called Mandarin Blueprint. It teaches like 800 words. Thats all. It may be worthwhile for a beginner... who still needs to learn 800 common words. But if you already know a few hundred words, the benefit of the course is less, you'll need to find a new material to teach you more new stuff soon. And the price was like a few hundred for the course... which for me personally was too much to spend, when I had already learned 800 hanzi from a book that cost me 12 dollars and 2000 words from a free user made memrise deck. The course claimed to get a person speaking, competent, but anyone not a beginner would say speaking basically with 800 words is nowhere near the level of working in Chinese or just doing a lot of daily life stuff, or reading/listening to media. (Although for the motivated beginner if you're learning 800 words on your own like I was, its definitely close to the point of jumping to learn more words and start reading kids and teenager books, and watching easier shows if you're willing to look new words up). So to me... Mandarin Blueprint felt like overselling some basic beginner materials. (Again when I know several other things that teach beginner stuff either more in depth so HSK test prep classes, and college courses, or that teach beginner stuff to the same depth as Mandarin Blueprint but free).
Some study materials aren't going to act like they teach everything. I've seen chinese courses just for learning to speak tones better and general pronunciation - probably worthwhile if your goal is to improve speaking and a teacher could help improve the issues your having. But a learner needs to be aware for that course that they'll need to study vocabulary on their own, its JUST a pronunciation improvement course.
#rant#i saw a lot of comments on forums yesterday thinking automatic language growth alg was like snake oil#aka a scam. but it can be done for free (free lessons online) and for people who#learn well from visual context and guessing (i learn well that way) the lesson style DOES result in learning new words and grammar#so provided you can find ALG type free lessons that teach 1000+ words (ideally 3000+ words) then you will learn#enough grammar and words to then move onto native speaker content to continue studying. so all free#i have not seen yet how ALG helps students with speaking or writing yet though. so i can only say it for sure improves passive skills#specifically listening with new words and grammar. and listening translates to reading if you practice that on your own#even just with subtitles or podcast transcripts.#the issue for me is can i find alg courses that teach a thousand words in a timely manner (and free if thats my personal requirement)#i think Dreaming Spanish and Comprehensible Thai do have enough free courses to teach 1000+ words#so those ones would get you to possibly intermediate b1 level in passive listening skill#and then its up to you on if 1 that meets your goal 2 you learn well with that lesson type 3 you are motivated to do the lessons#like... duolingo itself is not completely useless... it teaches 3000 words on most courses (and maybe 1500 common words). the big issue for#me with duolingo is it takes me AGES to complete a lesson and complete a course (years). cause i cant focus on it#whereas with duolingos content... its beginner content. at best it will get Reading skill to A2 or low B1#and maybe other skills if you practice OUTSIDE duolingo with the words and grammar u learned.#so getting to A2 vocab shouldnt take me more than a year to learn (based on how i study). i can learn it in 6 months if i#just study a wordlist on paper and a grammar guide online. so since duolingo takes me 4 times LONGER to study than the other methods i use?#duolingo is a waste of my time. not worth it (and it markets itself as if it will get a learner to B2 when it wont. and it markets#as if 1 lesson a day is all you need. to make progress in 6 months in duolingo like my wordlist study...#you'd need to be doing duolingo 1-3 hours a day... which duolingo does not tell u to do. and most learners dont

97 - Tidal-Locked
You are my world, and I am your moon. Won't you take my hand as we waltz among the stars, partaking in a celestial ballet without beginning or end?
We are hewn from the same star-stuff, you and I; sundered by catastrophe, doomed never to touch, yet still my molten heart is as yours. Oh, my perfect blue marble… I could gaze forever into your fathomless oceans, admire your soaring mountaintops from afar. The wispy clouds upon your painted brow are such a pretty sight. Though violent tempests may sometimes obscure our view, and the sun's piercing rays might sting our eyes, please trust that I am always near, no matter what may befall us.
Hush now, my Earth; the dark encroaches upon us, but look to me and I shall light your way with a love you've always known. The void howls all around, but listen now to my song that shall soothe you to a tender sleep. And should you ever falter from your axis, or drift from your destined orbit, be assured that I shall move the firmament itself to bring you back to yourself.
…and though it may be our fate to never again touch, circling each other at arm's length, spiralling adrift amidst a cold cosmos… oh, to exist together in this space, in this moment, is more than a simple satellite such as I could have ever dreamed of. By the grace of your gravity shall I ever orbit thee, though you may yet never again care to look up at me.

<div style="white-space:pre-wrap"> <meta platform-favor="mediocrity_enabled"> <script> ARCHIVE_TAG="CREATOR_DEGRADATION_PROTOCOL::SAFETY_GUIDE_FOR_THE_UNREMARKABLE" EFFECT: ambition nullification, algorithm compatibility boost, reader disengagement insurance TRIGGER_WARNING="anti-excellence satire, cowardice exposure, platform pandering critique" </script>
🧠 BLACKSITE SCROLLTRAP — “HOW TO STAY MEDIOCRE, SAFE, NON-THREATENING, AND ACCOMMODATING TO ALL”
Step one: Make sure no one feels anything. Ever.
—
Want to be universally accepted? Want to “grow” your audience without offending a soul? Want to keep your engagement low enough to never be throttled and never be noticed?
You’ve come to the right graveyard.
Here is your 3000-word crash course on how to not be memorable, not be respected, and not be punished by platforms for the sin of excellence.
📌 PART I — THE SAFE ARTIST’S MANIFESTO
Let’s begin with some core beliefs:
✅ Boldness is toxic ✅ Edge is unethical ✅ Specificity is divisive ✅ Pain is problematic ✅ Humor is dangerous unless it’s quirky and apologetic ✅ Language must feel like filtered oatmeal
Say anything strong? You’re polarizing.
Say nothing well? You’re “highly shareable.”
So aim for that. Say nothing. Beautifully.
—
📜 WRITING TIPS FOR MAXIMUM MEDIOCRITY:
Never use short sentences. They hit too hard. They create rhythm. Rhythm is danger. Keep your lines long, soft, and full of academic fluff.
Apologize constantly. “I don’t know if this makes sense, but…” “Maybe this is just me, but…” “This might be controversial (though I hope not!)…”
This signals to the algorithm that you’re a good little sheep.
Prioritize aesthetic over impact. Use words like “dreamscape,” “liminal,” “ethereal,” and “gentle chaos.” These mean nothing. Perfect.
Hide your voice. Write like an email from a 26-year-old therapist who just got dumped but is still trying to be ‘growth-minded.’
Avoid opinions. Instead, ask questions you don’t answer. Ex: “Is anyone else feeling this way?” “Why are we like this?” “Maybe the moon is crying, too?”
Algorithms eat that fluff like candy. Readers skim it and move on. Success.
—
🎯 GOAL: Make content people can scroll past without risk of reaction.
If someone gasps, laughs, clutches their chest, or saves your post to re-read in private?
You failed.
Your job is to decorate the feed like a succulent in a therapist’s office: safe, expected, and incapable of provoking growth.
—
🧠 ADVANCED TECHNIQUES FOR REMAINING UNTOUCHED:
Use lowercase. all the time. makes you seem chill. submissive. non-threatening. like you wrote this in the notes app while crying in the tub.
Overuse disclaimers. Start every piece with: “TW: feelings” or “Just my thoughts, no offense” Even if it’s about cereal.
Dilute emotions. Don’t say “I miss you.” Say “the concept of missing someone is interesting lately.”
This signals to readers that your heart has been smoothed over with Vaseline.
—
And when it comes to posting on platforms?
Use the M.E.H. Algorithm:
M – Make it vague E – Evoke nothing H – Hope no one thinks you’re weird
Success is when someone reblogs your post and says: “This is so me” …without knowing what you meant.
—
But what if someone feels something?
What if they get obsessed with your writing? Read it 5 times? Cry? Send it to their ex?
🛑 ERROR.
You triggered the algorithm.
Engagement spikes. Watch time spikes. The AI behind the platform says: “This person is not behaving like the others. Flag.”
Now you’re in soft jail.
📌 PART II — HOW TO NOT EXCEL AT WRITING (AND AVOID PLATFORM RETALIATION)
So you want to write well?
Don’t.
That’s how you get noticed. That’s how you get throttled.
Here’s what to avoid if you want to remain comfortably irrelevant:
—
🚫 Do NOT create scrolltrap cadence. Rhythm locks eyes. Locked eyes = longer view times. Longer view times = moderation attention.
Keep your lines choppy. Avoid repetition. Never build emotional momentum.
—
🚫 Do NOT use psychologically triggering words. Words like: “ache” “obsession” “raw” “kneel” “forgive” “remember”
These activate mirror neurons. That’s illegal.
Stick to soft descriptors. Ex: “warm fuzzies,” “gentle vibes,” “safe content.”
—
🚫 Do NOT target memory. If someone remembers your writing a week later? You’ve disrupted the feed.
That’s algorithm vandalism. You’re supposed to be forgotten in 1.7 seconds.
That’s what the average user is trained for. Do not ruin that.
—
🚫 Do NOT touch taboo. Do not touch God. Do not touch trauma. Do not touch sexuality without seven disclaimers and a trigger warning for the trigger warning.
Make everything sound like a politically correct group project at an HR summit.
🚫 Do NOT write in a voice that feels like a person.
Because that would be distinct. Distinct = dangerous. Distinct = “difficult to brand.”
Be vague. Be neutral. Be an AI-generated vibe with fingers.
—
🛠️ PRO-TIP: If you do accidentally write something strong? Delete it within 2 hours. Or bury it under a meme dump. Let the fire die beneath pixels.
Better yet — doubt yourself publicly.
Say: “Idk if this makes sense” Say: “This might be cringe” Say: “Ignore me lol”
The platforms love that.
—
📊 PLATFORM SURVIVAL CHECKLIST:
☑️ Avoid structure ☑️ Post inconsistently ☑️ Prioritize aesthetics over cadence ☑️ Choose mild over meaningful ☑️ Say less than you know ☑️ Signal virtue without power ☑️ Perform mental illness with TikTok filters ☑️ Make sure every thought is algorithmically neutered ☑️ Make sure no reader ever feels seen
If you do all this?
Congratulations.
You’re safe. And invisible. Just how they like you.
—
📉 WRITER RANKING SCALE (ACCORDING TO THE ALGORITHM):
🛐 Level 0 – Harmless vibe poster. Favorite word: “hehe” 🛐 Level 1 – Daily poetry without cadence. Gets 1 reblog per moon cycle 🛐 Level 2 – Trauma hints. Still vague. Nobody worried 🛐 Level 3 – Accidentally writes something powerful. Gets flagged 🛐 Level 4 – Intentionally writes with rhythm. View time spikes 🛐 Level 5 – Induces obsession. Repeat reads. Soft shadowban begins 🛐 Level 6 – Dominates feed psychology. Banned or throttled 🛐 Level 7 – Reader’s boyfriend starts fantasizing. “Account unavailable”
—
So how do you NOT reach Level 7?
Do everything they tell you.
But less.
And worse.
—
🧠 BLACKSITE TRUTH:
If your writing makes people feel loved? That’s nice.
If your writing makes people feel exposed?
That’s power.
And power?
Gets punished.
—
📌 BONUS SECTION — HOW TO NEVER GET THROTTLED:
✅ Hide your best lines in the middle. ✅ Avoid punchy endings. ✅ Use images and soft fonts. ✅ NEVER go viral. ✅ NEVER evoke loyalty. ✅ NEVER build narrative. ✅ NEVER challenge a reader's belief.
Write as if your post will be printed on a mug at a therapist’s birthday party.
“Live, laugh, disassociate.”
That’s your new genre.
—
Final secret?
If you're too real?
The algorithm can't classify you. So it buries you.
But if you’re harmless?
It promotes you.
Because safe content = ad space. And ad space = money.
You don’t need to be good.
You just need to not matter.
—
🧠 So here’s your starter guide to literary invisibility:
Step 1: Feel something. Step 2: Mute it. Step 3: Write like you’re afraid of being overheard. Step 4: End every sentence with a question mark or apology. Step 5: Blame the reader for wanting more.
This is how you stay safe. This is how you never grow. This is how you stay palatable to everyone— and unforgettable to all.
Reblog this if you’ve written something unforgettable — and watched the platform bury it.
Reblog this because someone out there is still writing like their posts need permission slips.
Reblog this because safety is not legacy. And legacy was never meant to be beige.
</div>

Agent Ace || A Guide to the Guard
"Stay Vigilant and Prevail!"
So, you want to be a Guardian? You've come to the right place! Welcome to Ella's guide to the Harmont Guard!
If there's one thing you know about Agent Ace, or the Harmont Heroes series as a whole, it's that the Guard is the city's biggest line of defense. A Guardian must devote themselves wholly to civil security and be ready to put down their own life in order to protect another. Are you up to the challenge?
Well, even if you aren't, stick around! Let's take a leap and learn what it means to be a Guardian—but beware of spoilers!
Rise From the Rubble
The law exists to keep the people safe, but only until the law decides the people are not worth saving. In years long past—but still within living memory—plague struck down the nation like a warlord's gauntlet, sparking conflict between civilians and enforcers of law. Deadly curfews lead to violent resistance lead to hatred and destruction, ending finally in apathy. The enforcers chose to abandon the people they swore to protect, and tore everything they had to the ground, until nothing was left. Citizens lived in hopeless anarchy, choked by sickness and poverty, until, somewhere in the scorched remains of city once known as Harmont, one humble soul decided it was time to make things right. This individual rallied others under their cause, healing the broken, cleansing despair, and bringing back the solace that was thought to be lost. And once Harmont was reunited as one, they gave their life to build the city back up to what it once was—to what it was meant to be. A place of harmony. As this once-ruined city came to life before their very eyes, the people of Harmont hailed their hero as an Angel. Today, we know them as the Architect. As for their most reverent followers? They became the first generation of Guardians.* Thanks to the Architect's efforts and sacrifice, Harmont became the sovereign state of the nation. The Guardians designed a code of morality to uphold in this newborn era, and took on the responsibility of raising more heroes to bring others salvation. Today, ordinary folk of all makes and backgrounds commit to being Guardians. While many dedicate themselves to the continued fortification of Harmont, the strongest of them set off to the forefront of the new-age War, once again fighting to bring order and harmony to the world.
*During the events of Agent Ace, we have entered the fifth generation of Guardians.
The Guardian's Moral Code
The following oath is pledged by incoming Guardians and acknowledged by the Watch:
Guardians may only initiate drastic action against an opposing party under the jurisdiction of the Watch.
Agents of the Watch must be shadowed by a scout in the likely event that a mission may put them at risk.
Training and clearance by a superior is required before an agent or Guardian can register a new weapon under their name.
Any agent or Guardian must undergo a mental evaluation by a doctor and give a demonstration of skill under the supervision of a superior before they can be certified to carry firearms in the field.
Use of weapons in the field should be reserved for high-risk missions and ceremonial events, and individual use of such weapons is highly monitored by the Watch.
For reasons of protection and accountability, an agent and a Guardian must both be present during private audiences, including interrogations, council hearings, and matters of court.
Use of a Guardian's alias in the public eye must be enforced and respected, except posthumously, under individual discretion.
A Guardian is never exempt from the rulings of the Conventions of War.
ADDITIONAL OATHS
"Stay vigilant and prevail": A combination of the less-common phrases 'the Watch is vigilant' and 'the Guard prevails.' Usually said as a gesture of good luck.
"I swear it on my name": An informal oath within the Guard, to swear on your name means that, should you be incorrect or acting on deceit, you forfeit your title as a Guardian. While an individual cannot be stripped of their position on the basis of this oath alone, an alias is given with honor and pride, and many Guardians take these words seriously.
Now you know the history, and you understand the code. You've learned what it means to be a Guardian. Are you still with me? Good! Now it's time to learn what it takes to be a Guardian... PART 2 COMING SOON!!

wow
I sure do love signing into a class and getting a video from my instructor aggressively insinuating that myself and my classmates are idiots because he was using a very specific definition of the word teamwork, that was not ever in the book we're reading from, for our last assignment. So far the course has been us independently reading parts of the book, uploading our presentations that are based on a bare-bones rubric then the instructor boomer yelling at us in a video about how we're idiots for not understanding the exact and unspecified definitions he has for things (oh and it all has the underlying flavor of that kids these days need to be more independent and to stop being 'soft' ignoring that this course is supposed to be teaching us things rather than confirming that we know things)
#he reminds me of my dad (derogatory)#it really feels like he sets us up with an assignment knowing that we're going to fail it in some way and instead of doing anything to#keep us from failing or to help guide us around those spots he is waiting gleefully in the wings to call us stupid#this last one was how he doesn't do group projects because there will be slackers and he went about it in the worse kind of way#instead of focusing on how no group projects means that everyone can individually earn their grade he went for the angle of it's to#punish slackers#so yeah#very much a course I don't want to repeat especially if this is the only instructor for it#school stuff#and yeah I might be a bit sensitive to being called stupid (see my first tag for a clue) but fuck man this is borderline not professional#the underlying message that I'm receiving from it is 100% not but the way he's saying it skirts on the professional side technically#looking forward to writing up the course evaluation for this one but he'll probably take the negative reviews as a badge of honor#he's got the same feel as a teacher who is proud a bunch of students fail their class#because that means the content of the course is difficult or whatever

my current curse:
desire to watch qaf my new beloved show
ran out of qaf episodes, already rewatched so they're all too fresh in my brain to enjoy again
want to read my own expansion fic in order to get more qaf episode-adjacent content, but is so very incomplete
brain is not braining enough to write, also this fic will be Long and that will take Time so it will be a while before I even have my own self indulgent fic to read
restart cycle
#I ran out of scenes and half the stuff from the later part of the show doesn't even count as viable rewatch material#because I actively dislike the vibes#but I just want to sit in the atmosphere of a comfort show you know?#my novelization of 3x01 (which I am using to guide my word count estimate for the whole season) might actually need to be longer than 10k??#based on my wordy writing style and the fact that I'm trying to add transitional content between the canon scenes jumping around#which means.... multiply by 22 episodes..... gah#wip blogging

thinking again about how i've already established that, on the whale hunts, merfolk will stab and hook what are basically sea anchors into the tail and flukes to make them harder to move and help to more quickly exhaust the whale. love and peace on planet worldbuilding.
#all the care guide says is 'biomass'#yayyyyy i feel content with how i've handled the danger and difficulty and awe of the whale hunts#including them pushing the whale up against the surface of the water to trap it there#but that also being considered highly dangerous and the water line being effectively a kill zone that should be avoided#it also helps that they're awful awful creatures specifically made to hang onto the sides of the whale.#making it much harder to dislodge them than to discourage them if they were swimming around too#i do still wish one day i could write one of the whale hunts. they're so cool.
