plot: Jill tore her acl but she's just glad she gets to spend more time with the new physio

warnings: none atm

It was your first week as a new physio when Jill tore her ACL, your eyes widened when you heard "How many ACLs have happened this year?" you ask your co-worker Ally as you walked to the room, she was seeing Chloe Kelly as you were to see Jill "too many".

You were laughing at a joke when you opened the door. Jill was already sitting down, still tired from her surgery but her eyes widened when she saw you.

Your smile was beautiful and your hair flowed behind you, you held a coffee and files from Jill's hospital surgeon. You had on a man city jumper and your own jeans which Jill is embarrassed to say fit you quite nicely.

"Hi I'm Y/n and I'll be your personal physio during these 9 months" You introduced yourself with a handshake which Jill accepted "are you new I've never seen you before," she asked and you nodded your head "I just started last week" you smiled and Jill smirked "Sorry for interrupting your slow start"

You laughed as you set up your set "honestly it's fine but I am sorry about your ACL" you frowned as both your eyes fell to her knee which was covered by a nude bandage.

"I would say it's okay but it's really not" Jill said with a shrug and you nodded "It's not ideal but with lot's of therapy and check ups I plan to have you out on the field as soon as I can" you smiled.

"So before I poke at your delicate knee how about we learn about each other a nice ice breaker" you suggested, grabbing a chair and sitting in front of Jill who nodded.

"Do you have any pets?" she asked and you shook your head "Not yet but I plan to" you said "Do you like it here in Manchester?" you asked and she nodded "It's really nice and different from Germany".

You grew comfortable with Jill quite quickly as she did with you and as you passed her the crutches and helped her up she looked back at you "I thought of one more question" she announced "shoot"

"Do you have a boyfriend?"

You couldn't help the slight blush that spread across your cheek "No, especially no boyfriend but as of now I'm single" You smiled before you both bid goodbye.

You met with Ally after your shift as you ate fast food at a random beach near the City head quarters.

"Chloe just kept on talking about her wedding plans it was funny" she laughed and looked at you for information "Jill asked me if I had a boyfriend" you laughed and Ally slapped your leg and you winced "what was that for?" you asked, rubbing your leg.

"She was so hitting on you!"

You rolled your eyes "no she wasn't she was probably just intrigued" you told her and Ally gave you a pointed look before mummbling "intrigued to get in your pants"

This time you hit her.

"Ow!"

Jill was sitting and watching training when Chloe sat next to her "So did you meet the new physio, what she like?" she asked and Jill blushed.

hot. she thought.

"She's really nice, I just apologized that her first job was an ACL she didn't really mind though" Jill told the blonde who nodded "Is she pretty?" Kelly asked and Jill looked at her "Why would that matter?"

"Because you are lonely and it's sad to watch"

Jill raised her eyebrows at her friend's confession before Mary and Kerstin came over and agreed with her.

"Okay well to answer your question, yes she is very pretty" Jill shared with blushed cheeks "but she is also my physio and not my girlfriend"

"That's how all love stories start!" Mary smiled with joy and her national teammate just patted her non injured knee.

"ga er gewoon voor, als je het verprutst, zijn er andere fysio's" Kerstin shrugged and Jill covered her mouth in shock of her words "I am not dating the new physio!" she said in shock.

“I don’t know what you just said” Mary frowned at her friend before they all walked off with smiles.

For Jill’s next appointments with you her little crush had turned into a big crush and you can’t say that you didn’t feel the same.

The blonde Dutch girl was beautiful and you constantly left the room with a smile and red cheeks.

When Jill’s next appointment with you arrived she couldn’t help but blush at the sight of you, you were still in your uniform but your hair was brushed up into a pony tail that showed off your cheek bones.

“How does it feel?” You asked and Jill just nodded “it’s alright to walk now” she said and you smiled “that’s amazing Jill” you told her and she smiled.

“I wanna see you walk, just incase I see a bend or something that I can help you with” you said as you held your clipboards.

“Right now?” Jill asked and you nodded “we can walk up to a coffee shop nearby, I haven’t had my coffee yet and it will be beneficial” you smiled and Jill laughed at your excuse to get a coffee.

“Do you need to see me walk or are you using me to get coffee?” she smirked and you breathed in

“Would it be bad if I said both?”

You and Jill were laughing together as she started walking and you filmed for her tik tok she wanted to make.

“I’m really proud of you Jill this is great” you told her and she blushed but thankfully it was cold so she could blame it on the weather.

You both got your coffee and sat down together, to anybody nearby it would look like a date.

“How bout some more fun facts about each other?” Jill suggested and you nodded your head. “I have two dogs, both cocker spaniels” you smiled “what are their names?” Jill asked you smiled “well one’s name is Rocky and the other one is named Shaggy”

“Shaggy!?”

“My sister named him not me!” You defended yourself as you both laughed.

“Okay what about you?” You asked the blonde who thought for a second “I’m kind of happy to at I’m injured”

You were shocked and cocked your head “why, you can’t play the sport you love?”

“Yeah but you get to try new things and meet new people” she explained and you smiled “I guess you would have never met me”

“Exactly” she responded and you blushed.

For the next couple of months not either of you had made a move which was weird to all of your friends.

“She definitely likes you back Jill”

“Y/n I swear to god if you do not ask her out I will injure you”

Ally was a bit more forward than the city girls.

It wasn’t until your sessions with Jill were coming to an end she realised that she really had to make a move on you but she really didn’t know how to.

After all maybe you were just really nice to her because you had to.

It was your job.

But when they did end and she made her way back onto the field it was always you she looked for in the crowd or next to the bench with your take away coffee in hand.

“I think I rolled my ankle” Jill told you as she saw you walking in the head quarters, your brows rose “well where does it hurt, do you want me to bandage it?” You asked and the girl nodded as you took her to your room.

“This is your third rolled ankle in two weeks Jill I’m not sure you can play” you tutted as you went away at your computer, writing down about her visits.

Jill rolled her head back.

Couldn’t you just get the hint.

“Is it a certain drill that you keep doing that-“

“I didn’t roll my ankle y/n” Jill interrupted you and you furrowed your brows “I was about to write you off for the game Jill!” You told her “why on earth would you lie about that?”

Jill felt small as you looked at her with mostly concern but you also had anger as she had lied to you but know she was forced to tell the truth.

“Well I like hanging out with you”

Your face softened and the dutches words “You don’t have to be injured to talk to me” you told her and she shrugged “I guess I was too scared”

“You? You scoff “scared?”

Jill laughed “oh cmon when you ask your crush out it’s hard”

Your cheeks blushed “so I’m a crush?”

Jill’s eyes popped and her cheeks reddened “I didn’t mean to say it out loud” she panicked

You just smiled and placed the tape that you were going to place on her down “I get it, asking your crush out is hard, that’s why I haven’t asked you out yet”

Jill turned to you with a smirk “So I’m a crush?”

“Shut up” you laughed and wiped your hands on your pants “y/n?” Jill asked and you looked up “yes Jill?”

“Would you like to go on a date with me?”

You smiled “I would love to”

Astarion owns property in my head at this point. Can I request for Astarion and Tav where they finally settle down after everything with the Absolute is over and has finally calmed down, and Tav immediately gets extremely sick. Nothing deadly, but still severe. After all the stress from the tadpoles and fighting for their lives, Tav's body kinda just gives out. I'd imagine Astarion would be at a complete loss at taking care of someone, let alone someone that sick lol probably gets scared they're dying too

Oh, Anon, I feel you. It's not that he lives in my head rentfree, no! He owns the building and makes ME pay the rent by now...

Strawberry Sugar High

You hadn't left the bed for the better part of a week and you felt you had contracted most every kind of ailment that one could suffer from under this sun. You felt shaky and dizzy. Your limbs hurt and felt weak. Your stomach was in a weird limbo of feeling strange and barely allowing you to keep anything down. Radiating heatwaves making your whole body sweat came and switched places with icy chills so even the coziest of blankets couldn't stop you from shivering. You were down bad - and Astarion almost scaled the walls not knowing what to do with you or how to take care of you.

"My sweet, I brought you...", Astarion started to announce cheerfully as he opened the door to your bedroom with a bowl and a steaming mug in his hands. Then he saw how you had hogged every possible piece of fabric in your giant joint bed and had wrapped yourself in it. At the sight of it, Astarion's shoulders slumped visibly and with it his procured goods - which almost caused scorching hot tea to splash on the floor.

“…some fruit and tea”, he finished audibly distraught and walked over to sit somewhat next to where you had rolled up into a mess of sheets and blankets and were silently shivering. He carefully placed down mug and bowl on the nightstand before he turned to the pile that you had become.

“I really thought you were getting better, my love!” The sad and suffering puppy eyes he made at you almost made you think he was the one to be worried about.

“Y-you say t-that every-ytime you le-leave the room and co-ome back, A-Astarion”, you replied through shattering teeth which sadly took the edge off of your snide remark.

“I know, love. Because every time I hope you might would have started to feel better. But you’ve been like this for almost a week and yet no improvement in sight. You have me worried sick!”, he dramatically explained.

The shivers temporarily left your body to allow you to give Astarion a death stare – the audacity of this man. “I am so terribly sorry that I dare put you through th-this. Now please h-hand me the t-tea!”, you sarcastically replied and worked your hands out of the mountain of blankets to stretch them out towards the nightstand where the vampire had placed the mug.

Astarion handed you the mug. “Careful, it’s scorching ho…”, he said while you grabbed it from him and placed your palms around the hot ceramic and sighed at the bliss of warmth.

Astarion stared at you as if you had turned into an ox.

You took in the smell of the fresh brew and sighed again – pine needles, mint, chamomile, and a hint of lavender. You took a sip slowly because it was actually really hot and closed your eyes for a second. The hot drink temporarily made you feel better.

“You really got the right mixture down now, Astarion, thank you!”, you said as you opened your eyes again and smiled broadly at the vampire who had swung his legs onto the bed and crossed them by the ankles – bare feet sticking out of the pant legs – to sit beside you. At your compliment his face lit up, his eyes filling with sincere joy.

“Well, I’m happy to hear I am proficient at taking care of you, my sweet sick darling”, he said and raised one of his eyebrows in arrogant manner. “Well, let’s not forget the time when you didn’t strain the pine needles or when you tried to make mushroom soup and created bile”, you replied to his cocky demeanour and then took another sip of tea. The shivers were really calming down now.

Astarion’s mouth became a straight line. “Well, I am sorry, but it’s been over two hundred years since I last had to know my way around a kitchen – you’d be surprised how easily forgotten mundane things are”, he pouted but stretched out his arm to rub circles on your back – or what he thought must be your back under the thick padding of fabric.

You were fairly certain, Astarion had never really known his way around a kitchen, but you really didn’t want to rub it in since he was actually trying so hard to take care of you. And he had really been worried sick about you since it seemed he had also forgotten how much impact even a rather harmless sickness could have on a mortal body.

“Feeling better now?”, Astarion asked while he kept rubbing your back. This time there wasn’t a hint of sarcasm or arrogance in his tone, just a sincere, caring question.

“I am. Thank you, my heart”, you answered and turned a bit to him to give him another smile. “I guess after everything that happened my body was just in dire need of a break – and now forced me to take it. I guess in a few days I’ll be merrily dallying around again”, you spoke as you looked at Astarion but then spied past him to where you had seen something of interest in the bowl he had brought.

“I’m happy to hear that, my sweet, because I don’t know…”, the vampire replied with a smile then furrowed his brows as he saw your focus shift past him and you leaned to look behind him. He made to lean with you. “My beautiful eyes are up here, my love”, he murmured playfully.

But you craned your neck now to see what it was he had brought you – broad shoulders and handsome face be damned. “Gods, are those strawberries?” “Indeed, sweetheart.”

Your mouth opened and you stared at Astarion in anticipation: “Where did you get them? Those are not in season for a few more months! I love strawberries, they’re my favourite fruit, no, food!” Your eyes gleamed at the vampire who replied with a smug grin: “I know, darling. I am actually a good listener in case you hadn’t noticed yet.”

You stretched to give him a kiss which almost resulted in you falling over and spilling all of the remaining tea. Your heart filled with an incredible amount of joy – not only because there were strawberries to be had, but because you felt so seen by your soulmate. You smiled at Astarion. “Indeed, you are”, you happily cheered him. He smiled back just as warmly.

“I got them from a place where they magically empower the crops. It did almost cost me an arm and the rest of my dignity though, but here we are”, he explained jokingly to which you raised an inquisitive eyebrow at him.

“Feed me!”, you then demanded excitedly when he didn’t spill any more details. To which the vampire grinned even more broadly, showing his sharp fangs in the process. “Oh love, I am more than happy to indulge you in this pleasant reversal of roles”, he crooned and turned around to grab the bowl of fruit while you kept sipping on your herbal tea.

He grabbed one of the deep red fruits and slowly lifted it to your already excitedly opened mouth. You were almost salivating, as Astarion offered you the berry, holding it elegantly in his long, slender fingers. The fruit almost touched your lips, but then, at the last possible moment: the vampire flicked it in his own mouth with his thumb.

Your mouth stayed open but now in a desperate expression while Astarion chewed. His facial expression became confused then pleasantly surprised, not even looking at you for a moment. “Oh dear, these are actually rather good. I had almost also forgotten how good these taste. I haven’t eaten a strawberry in forever.” He gave a quick high-pitched laugh while still looking a bit confused. This certainly had awoken a memory he had probably thought lost forever. But still – weren’t these for you?

“Excuse me, my tragic darling vampire, I really love you rediscovering your love for these mortal pleasures known as fruit, but weren’t these meant to soothe my sufferings?”, you said and pouted at Astarion. He readily replied by finally offering you one – for real this time, while he smirked at you and stole another one for himself.

As you bit down the taste just about exploded in your mouth. They were perfectly delicious and sweet. You sighed blissfully and let your head fall back with closed eyes. You were definitely feeling better by the minute.

“So good! Thank you so much for getting them – I feel so much better already!”, you said to Astarion and shimmied over to him to first lean past him and put the mug on the nightstand and then hugging him – arms extending from your ball of blankets.

Astarion pressed a kiss to the crown of your head. “You’re welcome, my love. Now – share the rest?” “Only if you promise to get more tomorrow!”

The pale elf threw his head back and laughed. “If that is what it takes to nurse you back to health, I am more than happy to oblige, sweetheart”, he promised with a chuckle before he gave you another of the sweet berries and then popped another strawberry in his own mouth.

ngl i also think that this song suits a lot or any character *calls entire hsr cast to go on set* well for me atm, i can envision this song with acheron, let's say you resided in xian zhou luo fu, a chef for a stall that many loved to frequent to.

the rain sometimes poured above your stall's shelter, and accompanied with the chitter chatter of your regulars? it only add more weight to your heavy heart that had to bear the weight of your lover leaving.

no one would want their lover to leave to venture out into the unknown, even if their lover had to, nobody would wish for them to venture into the haze only to never come back. everybody wants them to come home, safe and sound.

but why hasn't she come through the doorstep yet? why isn't there any "babe, i'm home!" in the quiet of your home.

the slit in your heart, it deepens at each creak you caused when your feet lands the old wooden floor, it aches dully in your chest at every window you open, only for cold wind to rush in. it aches at every sunrise and sunset.

it's not like acheron left you for good, but for some reason, this time when she had left to go on a mission. the kiss she places on your forehead was chaste, her mind on edge and her voice perhaps a little too sharp for your everyday conversation.

"i'm leaving now," she looks at you, hands firmly holding your shoulders in place, the morning air filling into your traditional home, the soft rumble of thunder sounding from far away. without warning, you tip toed and place a kiss on her lips, pulling her into a hug afterwards. acheron wraps her arms around you, a hand stroking the crown of your head as if she was trying to soothe you.

she'll be gone for a while, she doesn't want to leave you, but she had to. she need to get that income for the two of you.

but to make this much more easier to overcome, this moment when the two of you part, again... she decides to act a little colder, a little distant but honestly she came to realised later in penacony that it wouldn't make sense... given that you've been dating since a decade ago. she sometimes would face palm herself when she realises how confused you might be after that farewell, she blames herself for getting a little too caught up in those soap operas you two would watch at night.

acheron quietly makes a sharp turn in the alley of golden hour, sounds of puking and laughter not that far behind her. a few more steps and the hotel door was illuminating brightly in front of her. she longs for you, she misses your touch. thankfully it's the final commission for her current journey, time went by so fast, she couldn't count how many days or weeks have gone past. but she was sure it wasn't years away from you, speaking of you... you must've missed her dearly in your house. she enters a room after being redirected by the trailblazer, settling down into the tub. she closes her eyes, hopefully waiting for a different reality to wake her up, a reality that she is familiar with.

darkness washes over her, she could date back to that specific moment when she felt her heart doing summersaults and butterflies creeping up her stomach that she'd mistaken it to be a case of caffeine overload. she remembered the crash that accompanied shortly after you called out to her under the warm light of the lamppost in xian zhou luo fu. that night was a mere reunion for friends who had grown up together, but for some reason, she's here, just to accompany you to attend this meetup, even though she knows nuts about your childhood friends.

you weren't aware of her background back then and she couldn't blame you, she had just arrived to the area, got to know you for the sake of a mission, but somehow, found herself overstaying in the planet. boothill had called her to return for some other 'irrelevant' businesses but she couldn't be bothered. being here, in this bustling town, with you by her side, learning what had made up your childhood, how you do things here in this planet, what the people here enjoy the most... it all reminded her of warmth... like a home... something that she couldn't remember or understand about.

acheron feels as if she could be herself around you, breaking down that cold and mysterious demeanor that she displays on every visit to many different planets. so when you invited her out for this meetup as a plus one, she couldn't deny it. she wants to savor, to capture every single chance to get and stay close to someone she calls 'home'.

so that night, she realises something, but nothing good.

overstaying is one thing, but what if she *had* to leave one day, what if she was forced to leave? that wouldn't appear good to you nor her. who knows she would face a penalty? or what if... the way she's this attached to you, she could get in trouble, you could get in trouble.

so she did what she had to do, pulled you aside and told you that she's leaving tomorrow. and when you called out to her that night, disbelief written all over your face, eyes on the verge of tears at the fact that she'll be leaving not soon but tomorrow? she can't blame you for making her want to lean in, to press her lips against yours under the warm yet quiet night. to make you understand what she thinks of you.

when she opens her eyes once more, body floating in the dream tub, she raises a hand up, admiring the way it glistens under the light behind her.

she was determined to head back to you, in the comfort of your family home, into the warmth of your arms.

When I first started writing it I honestly didn’t think I’d love it so much. I also didn’t think it would turn into a multi chapter fic. I thought maaaaybe a lengthy one shot, but then the story kept unfolding the further I wrote and well .. here I am six out of ten chapters in 😅.

I’m gonna treat you to a little snippet of something from chapter seven. It’s rough and unedited cos that chapter is just a few jumbled scenes atm.

“So uh, Rosalie said when mum gets here.” Buck points out. “Is- is Shannon coming?”

Eddie sits back in his chair and nods. “She is. We meet up at least twice a month as a family for breakfast.” He bites his lip nervously before asking “Is that okay?”

“Is that okay? Eddie, I’m the one who should be asking if it’s okay for me to be here. This really seems like a family thing and I can head home or- or wait in the car if—.”

“Buck.” Eddie cuts him off before his rambling can descend into a full spiral. “We wouldn’t have invited you if we didn’t want you here.”

His brown eyes are open and honest, and Buck could almost cry over the fact that both Chris and Eddie still want him around after all this time. Most people get tired of him and move on. Apparently not the Diaz’s.

Not yet anyway.

Buck silently tells his brain to shut up.

“Besides, it means you’ll finally get to meet Shannon.”

“Can’t believe we’ve known each other for two years, and I haven’t met her yet.” Buck leans across the table towards Eddie and whispers conspiratorially. “It might make one think that you’ve been trying to avoid us meeting.”

“Okay first of all,” Eddie points an accusatory finger at Buck, “the first year we knew each other, we weren’t exactly friends.”

“And secondly?”

Eddie drops his hand and slumps back in his seat. “I honestly don’t know how you two haven’t met yet.” He crosses his arms over his chest, not in a defensive way, more in a way to comfort himself. “Shannon travelled a lot for work for a while after her mum died. She kind of threw herself into her job to avoid grieving.”

I really love this years Lantern Rite in Genshin!

More thoughts, screenshots and spoilers under the cut!

I don't know what it is with the new area they released, but I have been in no rush to explore it. And that's not a bad thing. Somehow I just find myself going through the area as if I was hiking around it myself, a.k.a stopping every ten minutes to take a bunch of pictures of the scenery. I guess I feel no rush to explore the area because I want to enjoy everything it has to offer. It also helps that I don't need to gather any of the materials from that area for any characters atm.

I mean, just look at this place, it's so pretty

I've known Gaming for like a week and I love him already. He is precious, he deserves nothing but the best, he's great. 10 out of 10. The best boi ever.

I definitely teared up after his performance and when he had the talk with his dad. I didn't think I would tear up, but yup, it happened. Gaming is wonderful. Also Xianyun is great, and the fact that she even made Zhongli go along with her plan to help Gaming was fantastic.

(also confession. I've played genshin for 2,5 years by now and this Lantern Rite was the first time I did any co-op lmao. it was super fun tho)

BUT!!! THE MAIN REASON I ENDED UP WRITING THIS!!!!!

THEY MET!!!! FURINA AND HU TAO HAVE MET!!!! THEY ARE FRIENDS!!!

I didn't expect to see the Fontaine characters, but I absolutely loved the whole last sequence of the Lantern Rite story. It's great, it's everything I ever hoped for.

(I love how the implication was at first that Furina, having just turned mortal again, is immediately reaching out to Hu Tao for her services askfdghkd, even though that wasn't the actual reason)

I also can't believe that Neuvi and Zhongli almost met offscreen. I knew Neuvi would go back on his word of "I'm not leaving Fontaine for a long time" the moment Furina started travelling lmao. I'm surprised that he didn't notice Zhongli's presence even from a distance. I feel like that would have come up during the last conversation with Neuvi if he had noticed Zhongli. But Zhongli noticed Neuvi and ran away asdfkjghl. What a Lantern Rite it would have been if suddenly there was a massive fight between two dragons in the middle of it.

(a part of me is wondering if Neuvi was being an overprotective dragon and went to Liyue ahead of Furina and the others to show his presence to Zhongli on purpose, but maybe he just wanted to get the tea and taste the spring water lmao)

It's a shame Furina didn't recognize Zhongli or that they didn't get to talk freely about being Archons, but at the same time, seeing Zhongli try to dodge anything in relation to Neuvi was hilarious. Especially with Hu Tao throwing shade at him lmao

Girl, you don't even know how much you are stirring atm and I love you for it askdjgfhd. Her calling out Neuvi too with the "your friend... he doesn't go out much, does he?"

But I'm gonna end this whole post with this, because seeing this gives me so much joy

I've done it before and it can really work in a fic. I wrote a Bucky fic once where he barely speaks and the few words he does say are in Romanian. It was a real challenge, esp for me as I LOVE dialogue so much, but it turned out so much better than I expected. Fic is called The man on the train

But, this domestic scene is very… forgein to him

He’ll gladly sit down and watch your favourite stupid, predictable TV show with you for hours, but he’ll critique it the entire time

He insists that he help you cook, even though he knows even less than you and it always turns out a mess

You don’t even have to ask him to go shopping with you, he’ll use his shadows to get there quickly but will just stand beside you as you shop, not helping whatsoever

As I said in the last post, Macaque is very touch starved

But he also hates it lol

He doesnt think he deserves your touches

You’re just so perfect, how could you ever be happy settling for him?

If your dating Macaque, you’ll definitely have to make a few changes in your day to day life

i get a lot of compliments on my imagery/descriptions/atmosphere! i love describing shit, so i'm glad ppl enjoy reading those bits of my work <3 oh!! and character/narrative details. i wrote a ~180k word fic in my senior year of high school solely off my mental notes for it, and it still wasnt finished when i dropped it a year or so later due to Circumstances

biting off WAAAAAAAY more than i can chew!! i have so, so many things planned for CotS and who knows if those things will get picked up on by folks or even work later down the line. GAHH

if you can realistically do it, go for it. if i could fluently speak all the languages i've tried to teach myself, i'd probably include them in fics where they would fit!

Cycle of the Serpent. theres seldom a time i'm not thinking about those elves. yes, i will admit with my whole chest that i'm a tad desperate for people to read it and interact with it, but i think if i could explain everything (without spoiling it obviously) i have planned for this fic and just how much is going on in the background of the details i throw in, the reasons certain characters behave the way they do, and the amount of time i've spent working on it (the doc for it is at roughly ~96k and we're not even at the Real beginning of the solitude arc) and the sheer amount of hours i've spent making sure details line up, you'd understand why i'm losing all my sanity daniel-amnesia-the-dark-descent style over this story. i started writing it as a for fun "no one's ever gonna see this" exercise that also helped me greatly in recovering from long covid brainfog, and i think even if one day i look back and think of it as "not the best thing i've ever written", it'll still be one of the most passion-driven things i've ever written, and i'm happy about that. <3

It pisses me off that people are mad at Matt because he went to see the young girl for Sylvie and saying Matt didn't do enough for Gabby. Even making it personal saying they're glad Monica stayed away.

One, Monica left the show. It was her decision. I'm sorry if you're mad that your ship didn't end up how you wanted but you have to understand it was because of the decision of the actor, this storyline happened because she left.

Secondly, Matt is at a different point in his life. He probably wasn't ready then but he's ready now. He was also there for Gabby in every way he could and loved her so much that he didn't want to see her die. She was the one who didn't want an adoption.

With Sylvie, she welcomes the help that anyone wants to provide.

I don't see how that fandom can differentiate that Matt loved/loves these two women differently and that he is going to support them anyway he can.

I really need to stay away from the bird app or else my blood pressure is going to go through the roof with some of these takes I'm reading.

LITERALLY it is so fucking maddening to see!

It already just drives me mad when people don't ever seem to respect the fact that these actors leave, because they wanted to, so it's to be expected that the end of that storyline will be a little shit. Like you can forever be sad d*wsey isn't canonically together anymore and that Matt moved on, because if d*wsey is The Ship for you that is sad but at the end of the day, the actress wanted out and the show continued.

I also hate the argument that he didn't do enough for Gabby... Because he did. He did so so much. She was the problem, she didn't want the help he gave her. That's fine, in some ways I get that attitude and it's fine to see it that way, but lord you cannot say he didn't try.

And it's not like Brettsey was rushed. It's been built up. It's been shown again and again that they love each other, how that is shown. And they've grown together. Also Matt has seen the whole development of this arc really, from helping Sylvie with Julia and then Amelia and all that and to now the decision to adopt baby Julia, he's the most qualified to speak on the matter honestly because he's seen all that.

I would generally recommend staying away from twitter atm at least. I am currently too lol. My blood pressure definitely couldn't handle it.

I'm just so fucking done with all the people who one) keep dragging Monica into this, like damn the woman left l can guarantee you the only thoughts she has is pride for her former co workers and two) people just needlessly hating on brettsey.

Idk if it's because I'm also having to deal with the same sort of idiocy when it comes to u*stead stans on twitter (which already is laughable to me bc the stans tend to be the same people as the d*wsey stans) so I'm already pretty damn tired of people not getting things and mixing up not personally liking a storyline direction Vs bad writing.

It's also tiring to see the hypocrisy (like adoption is Valid when d*wsey does it but not Sylvie or that Sigan is a brilliant writer/show runner until upstead has to be broken down because the actor left of his own choice 🙄) and like. over the past few days I've been watching Empire of Influence, a mini doco series about the Murdoch family that was suspiciously removed from all official streaming platforms (including hbo) within weeks of its release. It covers the rise of the Murdoch family media empire and how much world politics it's influenced from ww1 to now and I highly recommend it to anyone who believes Succession is the best of the eat the rich media in vogue atm. Empire of Influence is truly eye-opening and I'm saying that as an Australian who grew up hearing about the Murdochs constantly. Succession really is pastiching this family as sad clowns and complex meow meows, but barely EVER taking a swing at how the family that inspired this show has single handedly eroded democracy and civil rights in the English speaking world for nearly a century. It's funny because I'd say the only episode that comes close to actually showing the kind of fucking evil the family systemically creates was 'what it takes' in season 3, but ironically so many critics and people in my life who love the show hated that episode because it didn't "feel like succession" to them when in actual fact - going to a fucked up conservative conferences to pick out a presidential candidate who will win because they want him to is what the Murdoch family have done in real life in several countries and I loved that ep. But it was so late in the run that people just memed it with everything else and said it was boring cos succession has turned the lore around the Murdochs into fodder for storytelling when they're still doing damage to society. Again, I love the show, but in many ways, it's no better than the menu or glass onion or ready or not, or any of those other flimsy eat the rich stories. it's resigned to the reality of these people, of capitalism, and has this attitude like "we can't beat them so we might as well make them into an interesting show to entertain ppl and give them a place to project their trauma onto while their real life counterparts continue to burn the world down". I'm not saying don't watch it, I'm literally counting down the days until season 4. All I can think of when I think about all this eat the rich media is that, for our pop culture atm, it really does seem like it's easier to imagine the world ending than it is to imagine an end to capitalism. It's easier for pop culture to reimagine these systems and people as entertainment for the very people they're oppressing because when they do that they still make themselves seem necessary.

As I said before, "headcanons for gen 1" is such a vague prompt that answering it seems near impossible. But, for the sake of an answer, I'll throw out a few little thoughtlets from the top of my head.

Lindsay's choice in fashion is heavily inspired by the 'country girl' aesthetic of the late 2000s, mostly prompted by her love of the show Hannah Montana, early-career Taylor Swift and her idol, Dolly Parton. Her family is rich enough for her to own a horse, which she lovingly named Cream after it's coat (her French bulldog that we saw in her audition tape is called Peaches, because matching names!!), and she regularly goes horse riding to live out her farmgirl dreams. This is also why she was so quick to warm up to Beth, who is a tried and true Farm Girl.

Bridgette's parents were never married, and their relationship was a summer fling turned long distance co-parenting situation, but they're pretty amicable with each other despite not being a couple. Her mother lives in California and her father lives in Tofino. They're both Canadian by ethnicity, her mother just migrated south because of her adversity towards the cold; Bridgette shares her mother's dislike of cold weather because she's so accustomed to California's heat. Luckily, both of her parents live in places where she can surf!

After his meltdown during Action, Trent was formally diagnosed with Obsessive Compulsive Disorder (among other things) and medicated accordingly. His weekly Cognitive Behaviour Therapy sessions really helped him reconceptualise a lot of things, not only his nine fixation, but also his relationship with Gwen- in which he figured out that his deification of Gwen would've eventually crumbled under her failure to meet his impossibly high expectations of what a partner should be, so their relationship was always built on an unstable foundation. He gradually learns how to challenge his intrusive thoughts and overwhelming need for routine/control, though it'll always be an uphill battle for him.

Tyler's alektorophobia stems from a childhood incident where, during a school trip to a local farm-petting zoo, baby Tyler's freakishly strong grip strength inadvertently hurt the chicken he was petting and the bird attacked him in retaliation. The surrounding chickens also joined in on the attack, leaving baby Tyler with more than his fair share of talon scratches and peck marks- some of which left near invisible scars on his arms. That's why he usually wears long sleeves despite his athleticism/sweating a lot.

Nope. And I never will 😅 makes me much too uncomfortable (I never read it either). Both because that's just how I am personally and for religious reasons. But I do love writing wholesome romance!

Do you write cross-overs?

I do! I only posted one tho, and that was literally the first fic I ever wrote 😭 it was a crossover between Newsies and In the Heights, where Jack and Usnavi run away from New York. I do have several crossover WIPs though!! Including but not limited to: a Narnia/The Hobbit crossover, a Narnia/His Dark Materials crossover, a HTTYD/Wings of Fire crossover, and a Daredevil/Batman crossover!

Have you ever had a fic translated?

I can't remember, but I think it's possible I have before? When my main site was still Fanfiction.net?

Have you ever co-written a fic before?

I have!! But they aren't done yet 😭 but I'm writing them with @the-old-fashioned-girl! It's the Daredevil/Batman crossover, as well as a Hamilton fic!

What WIP would you like to finish but doubt you ever will?

Oh gosh, I don't want to ever think I'll NEVER finish a WIP, don't do that to me! I wanna say I'll finish all of the ones I want to finish eventually!!

What’s your all-time favorite ship?

Oh goodness, that's hard... probably Hiccstrid, Raoulstine, Silverparry, and Wyler!

What are your writing strengths?

I'm a pretty fast writer, I think. When I finally sit down and set my mind to it, I can easily get out a thousand+ words!

What are your writing weaknesses?

EDITING MY BELOATHED. And actually sitting down and starting to write...

Thoughts on writing dialogue in another language for a fic?

I think it's really cool when done well!! I've done it for Lafayette in some Hamilton fics, and I want to try using Tagalog in another fic someday! I'm also using sign language for my Deaf!Raoul AU!

Dang, that's hard. Possibly Talking To The Moon (Avatar: The Last Airbender)! I like how I tackled both Toph and Sokka in it :DD
