The ringing of your phone sounded through your apartment loudly, the sound of the rain pattering loudly against the windows out-looking New York City. You set down the remote, feet padding against the cold hardwood while you looked for your buzzing cellphone.
You didn’t bother glancing at the caller ID, picking it up bringing it to your ear all in one quick motion.
“Hello?” You said, pulling a wine glass down from the cabinet.
“Y/N?” Tom’s voice came through the phone.
Your heart dropped, a breath catching in your throat while you stood in your kitchen. He was across the country, wanting nothing to do with you. He repeated your name through the phone, asking if you were there.
“Yeah, I’m here,” you answered, pouring more wine than you’d originally intended into the glass.
“Isn’t it like one in the morning in England?” You asked, listening to the muffles coming through the speaker.
“Yeah—yeah, it’s late here. I just couldn’t sleep, and I started to think of you. Sorry, I probably shouldn’t have called.”
You sat at one of the barstools, swirling the red contents of the glass around. You wanted to yell at him, or maybe you wanted to tell him how much you loved him. You sat silently for a few moments, bare legs cold from the draft.
“Tom,” you started. “I just don’t get why we have to rehash the past, you know? I came back to New York, just like you told me I should. You’re working on whatever new movie, I’m doing the same. I don’t know—I just think we should leave whatever happened between us alone. You made it very clear that it was me that you didn’t want,” you mumbled, pulling at the sleeves of your sweater.
He audibly sighed, the ruffling of sheets coming through the phone. He was probably in bed, if he wasn’t so far away you’d have asked him if this was a sad attempt at getting you to sleep with him.
“I was fucking stupid, and I’m sorry, Y/N. I’m so fucking sorry, I’ve said that a million times,” his voice was hoarse and tired.
“I’ve already forgiven you, Tom. I just can’t keep doing this—this thing with you.”
You both went quiet for a minute, the only sound being the noise from outside in the bustling streets of the city and the rain. You knew you should hang up, block his number and forget about anything you two ever had. You’d tried a few times, unable to bring yourself to doing it.
“What about us?” He asked lowly, a twinge of hurt in his tired voice.
“There is no us, Tom,” you replied. “I’m not even sure there ever was.”
He didn’t say anything, you wanted to let out the repressed cry and tell him you didn’t mean it. That you were sorry and that you thought about him more than you’d like to admit. Something in you knew if you didn’t do your best to cut it off, you two would continue down the same everlasting cycle.
“Okay,” he said.
“Okay.”
The line went silent for a moment, and then your home screen lit up. The call had been ended. You downed the remainder of your wine, ditching the cup and just going for the bottle. You thought about calling him back, about apologizing and booking a plane ticket like some lovesick teenager.
You opened Instagram and began scrolling through your feed of posts, liking and commenting occasionally. You weren’t anywhere near drunk, merely tipsy and heartbroken. Your finger lingered on the button to go live, wondering if you really wanted thousands of people to see you in this state.
You left the kitchen and instead propped your phone against the couch, taking a seat on the white rug of your living room. You wearily pressed the go live button, raising the bottle to your chapped lips once more. You are pathetic, you thought.
“Hey guys!” You smiled at the camera and outpouring of greetings in the comments. Within a few minutes you’d racked in a few thousand viewers. You grabbed the guitar sitting against your wall and strummed the cords lightly while it sat in your lap.
userone: you are so adorable
usertwo: can you please say hi?!!!??
userthree: it’s my birthday y/n!
“I’m sorry I haven’t been very active on social media, guys. It’s been super crazy traveling back and forth from London to New York and then having to leave again in a few weeks. And now I’m sitting on my living room floor with a bottle of wine,” you laughed. A few familiar people popped into the comments of the live, some you’ve worked with and some you’ve yet to meet in person.
florencepugh: y/n!!!
gracieabrams: might just bust out the wine just for u
“Florence, I can’t wait to see you soon!” You smiled, “Gracie, I swear it’s making everything like a hundred times better.”
userfour: i’m in love with her
userfive: y/n saving 2021???!!!
“I’m not even sure what I’m supposed to be singing,” you flushed. You did sing, before getting into acting you’d post a lot on Instagram and TikTok. It’d always been more of a hobby, something you loved to do, but weren’t good enough to pursue.
“I’ve had a little too much to drink,” you added. “So don’t get upset if I’m a little pitchy, guys.”
usersix: if she’s pitchy i’m not sure what i am
userseven: sing taylor swift!!!
“Okay, okay!” You chuckled, scrolling through the hundreds of comments saying to play Taylor Swift. You’d only just been crying to like three of her albums a few hours before.
“How about the chorus—and maybe the bridge too, yeah, that’ll work,” you mumbled to yourself, fiddling with the strings. “Alright, guys, Last Kiss it is. I won’t bore you all with the whole thing, though. I could never do Taylor justice.”
“And I’ll go sit on the floor, wearing your clothes”
Getting involved with him was singlehandedly the most stupid decision you’ve ever made, you thought. Late nights in his flat after long nights on set, ordering in and just talking, you two would talk as if you’d known each other your whole lives. It was something about the way he’d let you wear his clothes, or the way he’d tuck your hair behind your ear while you told him about whatever insignificant thing that had happened that day.
“All that I know,
I don’t know how to be something you miss”
The car ride to the airport was the worst, it was grey and cold outside. There was makeup running down your face, mascara covering your eyes generously. You’d wrapped filming a week earlier, unable to bring yourself to walk away from him.
You couldn’t tell the driver to turn you around, or could you? Tom had already made it clear that you were both in different places in your career. This wasn’t what he wanted. You weren’t what he wanted.
“I never thought we’d have our last kiss”
He had held you just a little tighter, you ran your fingers through his hair for just a second longer. The taste of each other lingering on the both of your lips. Like you knew it would be the last time he’d hold you without knowing.
His stupid smiled, the way he pulled away and ran his thumb over your swollen bottom lip. You were almost wrapped around his finger, absolutely sickened with desire and infatuation for him.
“I never imagined we’d end like this,
Your name, forever the name on my lips”
The day you’d left to come home to New York started with a huge argument between the two of you. He’d basically just told you that you’d both known from the beginning you wouldn’t last together. It wasn’t a matter of how much you cared for one another, but that it was impossible, as he put it.
His eyes glossed over and bloodshot, you a complete and utter mess. Slamming the door behind you as you left was one of the most painful things you’d ever endured. Even more painful, the fact that he never came after you.
“So I’ll watch your life in pictures like I used to watch you sleep”
“I can feel you staring at me, love,” he murmured against the pillow.
Your face heated, eyes averting to the stream of light through the sheerness of the curtains. He leaned into you a moment later, his lips soft on your own. He was warm, he was always so warm. You cupped the side of his face gently, pulling him in a bit harder.
“And I feel you forget me like I used to feel you breathe”
You dropped your bags, stepping into your apartment after months of being away. It felt quieter than usual, desolate and empty from your being away. It was dark out, the illumination of the bright city lights from your windows.
You glanced down at your phone for a moment, not a missed call, not a text, not even a fucking notification. He’d simply told you to go home, nothing more nothing less.
“I keep up with our old friends just to ask them how you are,
Hope it’s nice where you are”
You’d texted Harrison a few times, regretting it almost immediately after. He was sweet, telling you that Tom would come around eventually and to just be patient. You’d relied on those kind words for some time, eventually deleting them all together.
After Tom’s first text, you’d realized he wasn’t coming around or regretting what he’d said to you. He was lonely, maybe even a bit desperate. For months you had been there to listen to him and hold him, and now you were gone.
You’d fed into it the first few times, sitting on the phone with him for hours at a time. Then you started to feel worse hearing his voice, silent sobs escaping as you’d listen to him ramble. Then your finger would linger over the decline button a little longer than usual when he’d call, until eventually you started to use it.
“And I hope the sun shines and it’s a beautiful day,
And something reminds you,
You wish you had stayed”
Once you started to go out with other guys, Tom’s ‘I miss you’ texts became more infrequent. Paparazzi would snap pictures, and the next morning they’d be plastered all over the internet.
There was no doubt he was seeing you going out with other people, watching article after article about who you were dating surface. Would he be jealous? No, you thought. Tom was probably doing the same thing as you. Hopeless hookups, meaningless blind dates.
“You can plan for a change in the weather and time”
One early morning, you found yourself in a sweatshirt you’d stolen from one of his drawers and forgotten to return. Listening to the morning rush of traffic and hugging yourself, noticing the lingering smell of his cologne.
You wondered if he knew you’d taken it, if he would think you were pathetic wearing it months after you two had broken things off. This only made you clutch yourself a little tighter, closing your eyes and trying to remember.
“But I never planned on you changing your mind”

You and Henry had been seeing each other for several months, having met at the auditions for Night Hunter. It was the first time Henry had been in your place, over for a nice night in, you left him in your living room long enough to get you both some wine. While you did that, Henry looked around, peeking at stuff, but not invading your privacy, checking out the books you had on your shelves and the photos you had on display around.
He noticed a small Russian doll-like thing on one of your shelves and picked it up, admiring it.
“Henry.” You called, standing on the other side of the room from him, stiff as a board. “Put it down.” You almost hissed at him. “Don't touch it.” You told him, trembling and your voice unsteady. “Please.” You added, your throat tight and tears threatening.
“I'm sorry.” Henry squeaked, putting it back where it was on the shelf. “I was just admiring it. It's really beautiful.” He babbled, nervously. “Where did you get it?” He asked, looking over at you and was caught off guard by the tears dripping down your face.
“It's my son.” You mumbled, struggling to gulp down your tears and emotions.
Henry blinked and his whole body jerked, shocked by your words. “What?” He pushed out, his own throat tight.
“Oh god.” You mewled, realizing what you had said. “Please, leave.” You whimpered, then rushed down the hall to your room, slamming the door behind you and barreling into your bathroom, to drop to your knees in front of the toilet bowl, wrenching violently into it.
Henry carefully opened your bedroom door, hearing your dry heaves, and followed the sound of it. “Hey.” He whispered, kneeling beside you and rubbing your back, his face showing his deep concern for you.
“I as-asked you t-to leave.” You wheezed, panting into the bowl, your heavy tears dripping into it.
“I know you did.” Henry sighed, still rubbing your back in a reassuring way. “But, I can't just leave you like this.” He said, getting up and finding a wash cloth hanging on the towel rack and ran it under the sink faucet. “I never meant to upset you.” He whispered, gently wiping the cool cloth over your temples, forehead and cheeks, even pressing it to the back of your neck for a moment.
“You didn't know.” You sighed, squeezing your eyes shut. “Only a few people know what that is.”
Henry gulped, a pit in his stomach and bit his lip for a moment. “You said...” He took a deep breath. “You said, it was your son.” He said, chewing his bottom lip to bits.
“I did.” You whimpered, sitting down and pressing your back to the side of the cold tub. “When I was twenty, I was dating a guy, but we broke it off. Two months later, I found out I was pregnant with his baby. I told him and he wanted nothing to do with me, or the baby. Shocker of the century.” You chuckled, but whined at how sore your throat was.
“What happened?” Henry frowned, resting back against the vanity, and drawing his knees up.
“Well, I had the usual three options.” You sighed, staring up at the ceiling. “Have the baby and give it up for adopting, keep him or the other option.” You said, glancing at him for a moment, to get the point across. “I wasn't going to the latter thing, wasn't something I could live with. So, over the next eight and a half months, I tossed back and forth between adoption or keeping him. I thought, just before labor happened, that I was going to put him up for adoption. I was twenty, still living at home and had a shit job. What life could I give him, a struggling mother and an absent father.”
You paused for a moment, lost in a memory.
“But, when I finally gave birth to him, and I saw him in all his bloody, messy and screaming glory, I was enamored by him. He was beautiful and perfect, but importantly, he was mine. My son. I made him.” You scoffed, shaking your head. “With a little help, I suppose. But, I made him, with my body, my blood and flesh, inside me for months. It was like, I already knew him and he already knew me.”
“Pals for the ages.”
You smiled and closed your eyes, tears dripping down your cheeks, as you recalled his little face, the warmth and weight of his teeny body in your arms, his smooth and downy skin against your chest. Hearing him coo at you, just before he latched onto your breast and fed, or how he squirmed as you bathed him. You would stay awake for hours, not caring how absolutely wrecked and exhausted you were from the day, to watch him sleep in the little cradle that attached you to the side of your bed. Remembering the first time he laughed, you blew a raspberry on his tummy as you changed his pamper and he became hysterical, filling your ears with that absolutely magical baby laugh, that no matter how horrible your day was going and how shitty you felt, you couldn't help but laugh along too; blowing more and more raspberries against his squirmy body and flailing arms and legs, his face bright with a face splitting grin.
“What happened?” Henry whispered, his voice weak and stomach clenching.
You choked suddenly as the horrible memory strangled you, like it had over the long years. “My boss made me work late one night, so I left him with my mother, she babysat him all the time, he was her first grand-baby and she was almost as wild about him as I was. I was a few hours into my shift, when my mom called, and I knew, instantly, something was wrong. She always called me before she put him to sleep, so I could talk to him and hear his little noises; and she had already done that.”
“Two hours before.”
“She had gone into check on him, and..” You froze, your breathing faltering and gripped the rug beneath you, tearing at it as your grief slammed into you. “He wasn't breathing and wouldn't respond. She called medical services, then called me, while they tried to save him.”
Henry's chin hit his chest, a tight bubble of grief in him. “I'm so sorry.” He whimpered, crushed for you, realizing what he had picked up was indeed your son, his urn. “I'm sorry.” He choked, moving over to you and hugging you against his body, letting you sob into his chest, soaking his shirt with your anguished tears, your heart splitting wails crushing him, like a factory of bricks.
“My boy.” You howled, clinging onto Henry, twisting your hands up in the back of his sweater. “My baby boy.”
“I know.” Henry choked and held you tight, tears dripping from his scruffy jaw and into your hair, rocking both of you. “I know, love. I know.”
“I miss him, Henry.” You sighed and sniffled, looking up at him. “I miss him, with every fiber of my soul and life.”
Henry smiled softly at you, brushing your hair out of your face. “I know you do, sweetheart. I know you do. But, he's still with you. He will always be with you, darling. In your heart and in your soul. Because you made him, with your body, your blood and your flesh, inside of you for months, and he's still in your body, blood and flesh, here and now, forever and always.” He told you, cupping your face in his shaking hands.
“Nothing and no one can ever take that, or him, from you. Even if he's not here with you, physically.”
You looked into Henry's baby blue, bloody shot and teary eyes, sucking your wobbling lip between your teeth, chin shaking as your body was wracked with a wave of new tears and emotions. No one had ever said something like that to you before. Everyone that knew about your son told you to move on, that the pain would pass and lessen, but it only grew worse over the years. Missing out on his first tooth coming in or losing one and sneaking money under his pillow for the tooth fairy, his first steps and word. His first day of school, his first crush on someone, watching him grow tall and do some many things you saw other kids doing. Your mother even suggested finding a guy and having another kid, but that thought horrified you, afraid that the same thing would happen all over again.
But, Henry's words had instilled something in your sore and cracked heart, like putting a plaster on it. He was right, your son might not be here physically anymore, but you had created him with your own body, nestled in your womb, his DNA was yours and it was still alive, so he was still alive, in that way.
“His name,” You said softly, letting go of your trembling lip. “was Julian.”
Henry smiled at you. “It's a beautiful name.” He replied, gently.
It was then, that it struck you, something you had only just realized as you shared a devastating, raw and such a personal moment that you have never shared with anyone else, or even talked about with the people that did, that you tried to avoid thinking about. You had freely given Henry the information about Julian, you had never told any of the guys you previously saw or dated, a few asked about the small, silver and blue urn, but you always changed the subject.
Why had you told Henry about him, so freely, letting down all the thick walls you had built around yourself over the years? You had known him for two months and been only four or five dates, but you felt safe with him; loved, understood and listened to.
Henry wrapped his arms around you and stood you both back up, guiding you back into the living room, sitting you down on the couch, then went into the kitchen, finding two glasses and two bottles of wine on the kitchen counter, obviously you had come into the living room as he picked up Julian's urn to ask which bottle he wanted. He just grabbed one, pulled the cork out of the neck and poured you both a glass, before bringing it out to you; sitting on the couch with you tucked into his warm and protective side. Neither of you said anything, sitting quietly on the couch, sipping your glasses of wine, in silence.
“Thank you.” You whispered, your voice still hoarse from all your crying. “I've been hanging onto that for so long.”
“Of course.” He whispered back, gently kissing your temple. “I'll always be here, if you need to talk it out, or cry it out.” He told you, giving you a tender expression, before hugging you snugly.

Prologue|| Stormbringer- Stray Kids Demigod AU
Pairing : Reader(fem.) X Felix
Word count : 1.2k+
Warnings : Family issues, mentions of mythological monsters, not edited.
Genre : Romance, Demigod AU, fluff, angst.
Description: Two twelve year olds kids with apparently normal lives find themselves in a rather uncomfortable position when they are told the truth about their not-so-normal parentage.
A/N : FINALLY I managed to post this!! I haven’t been feeling well lately so hope I didn’t keep anyone waiting too long. This prologue doesn’t necessarily connect with the main plot of the story but it does lay the backdrop for it so this part might come off as plain.
Hope everyone’s been keeping well, given the current situations. If you need anyone to talk to, I’m right here!

Lighting in the Sky
"Before the world existed, there was nothing. Only a primary void, a nothingness and ..chaos. "
Your glazed, intrigued eyes follow every word from the new book your mother reads out from, your curiosity unable to handle the wonderful way your mother always turns every story into a mystery.
The bright green cover of the book looks attractive, and smooth like glass. Instinctively, you hold your finger up to its surface.
Its cold.
" 'Famous tales from Greek Mythology ' " you read out its title, now no longer paying attention to your mother's words, "Mum, do you think the people in these stories are real?"
Your mother stops mid sentence, not really surprised when a rather familiar memory finds its way back to her. Thunderstorms, a handsome young man, rapid heartbeats, a little baby girl.
"I'd like to think so," she runs her fingers through your hair, "But not all of them are as heroic as they're made to be in these books."
You wondered what her words had meant for a long time after that. For a 12 year old girl, you'd been way too curious, way too hard to deceive. But truth is something that cannot be hidden for too long.
You remember that day as clearly as if it were yesterday.
It was your 13th birthday , a joyous day for a young girl who'd always wanted to experience the so called 'exciting' teen years. Your mum had prepared an amazing celebration for you- a small picnic by the seaside, a chocolate cake (your absolute favorite), the second edition of 'Famous tales from Greek Mythology ' as a gift. It was almost perfect.
Almost.
While on your way to the parking lot, a dog pounces at you. Except it wasn't just a dog. It was a Hell Hound.
You'd only seen the likes of it before in your story books and in your nightmares that were as vivid as memories. But you know exactly what a hellhound really is. Hellhounds are dogs that guard the Underworld - world of the dead .
"Get off of me, you dog!" You scream as the monster claws at your face.
Viscious creatures and brilliant killers these dogs are and if it weren't for two boys showing up to your rescue, you are sure you'd have become the hellhound 's food that day.
"Are you okay, y/n?" The boys ask you.
"H-how do you know my name? Who are you people?" You pant, on the verge of tears, "What was that thing?"
The taller of the two boys - Hyunjin, as he would introduce himself to you later sends a look of confusion over at the shorter boy - who also introduces himself as Minho later. "We have a lot of talking to do, y/n. Where's your mom?"
Your mom is not one bit fazed when she drives the three of you back to your small apartment. It's almost as if she'd been expecting it all along.
Once you reach your house, your mom who's usually extremely cheerful and loud, sits you down quietly on the couch and tells you the truth. Of who you are, what you are capable of.
"Sweetie, your father is not the book author you think he is. I'm so sorry I lied to you. " she sucks in a deep breath, almost scared, "Honey, your dad is...a God. A Greek God. The ones we read about."
And that one sentence turns your entire world upside down. Everything you've ever known just changes.
But sometimes changes are for the best, you'd like to think.
Minho and Hyunjin reveal that they come from a place called Camp Levanter - a home for kids like you, demigods is what they're apparently called.
"A-are you like me too?"
"Yes, y/n. We're like you." Minho says, "I'm the son of the Greek God Dionysus and Hyunjin over here is the son of the Greek goddess Aphrodite."
Hyunjin pats your head ever so gently and in an alluring voice says, "Do you want to come with? We could be your friend. How does that sound?"
You find yourself nodding almost immediately.
And just before you walk out of the door, you give your mom the tightest hug, assuring her that you'd do just fine.
"By the way, mum, what's dad's name? You never told me."
You mom sighs, as the skies outside rumble with thunder, "Your father is Zeus - the God of sky and lightning. "
*
The symbol of Love
"Are we going to die tonight, Nana?"
Felix shivers into the embrace and pulls his greying, old grandmother closer, her weak body already completely corrupted by the cold and snow.
"N-not you, Lixie. You have things to do." She mumbles, holding the 13 year old kid to her chest, hoping to find some kind of warmth in this freezing cold weather, "I-its not your time yet. You will go back to your father, you hear me? You didn't have to come with me anyway!"
Felix's father wasn't the nicest person - to put it decently. He didn't so as much bat an eye towards him. Perhaps he was ashamed of having a child out of wedlock or worse, he was reminded of Felix's gorgeous mother he so dearly missed everytime he saw Felix.
Anyhow, parental love never made it into Felix's life from his father's side so instead he grew up under the warmth of his grandmother's love.
On his 13th birthday, Felix receives his first and last gift from his father; a step mother. That fall, his father marries an old colleague in a small ceremony. And Felix would later go on to hate himself for ever thinking that this new addition to the family might fill up the blank space his birth mother had left behind.
Not ten days after the wedding, his new step mother 'accuses' his grandmother of being rude and unwelcoming and begs his father to throw her out of the house.
Which all comes down to this moment, where his grandmother is freezing to death and he cannot do anything but watch silently.
"Hey, do you need help?" When Felix hears that voice, his first instinct is to brush it off as a hallucination, for who would help two homeless people in this bone chilling weather?
"Felix, do you need help?" A few rapid footsteps and two boys present themselves in front of him, panting as if they'd been running all the while.
"W-who are you?" He stutters, hugging his grandmother closer, "How do you know my name?"
One of the two boys reply gently, "I'm sure you have a lot of questions, Felix. How about we go to my place? Your grandmother might like a warm cup of tea, don't you think?"
And so he agrees to go with the two boys.
Once they'd warmed his Nana up and fed her, Felix gently tucks her into the bed of the guest room they'd been given. As scared as Felix was to accept their help, he knew he had no option. His grandmother meant the world to him and he couldn't watch her succumb right in front of his eyes.
The two boys are very careful in approaching Felix, making sure to not scare him more than he already is.
"What are your names? How do you know me?" They let a whole hour pass by as the three boys sit on the dining table, occupied with plates of untouched food and full bottles of water, letting Felix be the one to start conversation. And when he finally does, Changbin breathes a sigh of relief. Really, he was starving but he didn't want to seem rude in front of their new friend.
"I'm Chan," Chan introduces himself, and then Changbin speaks, "I'm Changbin. And why do we know you, you ask - well the three of us have quite a lot in common, you see. More than what meets the mortal eye."
Mortal eye? What's this all about? Felix finds himself more confused than he already was.
"We're the children of Greek gods, Felix. " Chan sighs, " You, me and Changbin. Is it hard to believe?"
Felix is about to say 'yes' out of pure impulse but he holds his tongue this time ; these guys don't seem like the kind to make such obnoxious claims, even as a joke. All his life, Felix had spent as an outcast, among his friends, among his cousins, among his classmates. His father had treated him like he were a monster. And his estranged mother who his father never said anything about? Felix finds suspicion knocking at his door.
Whilst its still extremely hard to believe, Felix responds,
"I want to believe you."
Chan and Changbin exchange a look of surprise, complete astonishment since none of them had expected Felix to even listen to them. And now that they have his attention, they find themselves a tad bit pressured as well.
"But don't disappoint me," Felix mutters, more to himself than to the boys, "Don't give me hope just to snatch it away."
And much to his surprise, he isn't left disappointed this time. These two boys manage to change his life completely, and now when Felix goes to bed at night, he finds a rather foreign feeling of fulfillment in his heart.
and for the first time in forever, he lets himself hope. Hope for a new family who would make up for the love his father could never offer. Hope for better days to come now that he's finally found a new identity and a new life.

Brian cupped her cheek tenderly with one hand, smoothing out any worried lines across her forehead with the other. He smiled encouragingly, tears threatening to spill from his eyes with his heightened emotions. “You don’t have to answer right away.”
“I don’t?” Charli breathed back, knowing that her response to his question was already formed. Yet it wasn’t the right time for any love confessions right now. Despite this, her answer rushed to the back of her throat, where she tried to swallow it back down repeatedly.
Brian already knew and nodded softly to let her know of this. “I’d wait an eternity for you.”
“Isn’t that a bit too cringe-worthy?” you wondered, pausing to read the words upon the screen with a frown. It wasn’t out of character for Brian Kang and Charli Evers. And it certainly wasn’t the first cheesy line you’d thrown into Captivated either. Still, you mulled over the scene a little longer, deciding whether or not it should be removed.
“What would Charli do in response?” you asked out loud to no one in particular, a flurry of action from your fingers taking place immediately. You followed the scene until completion before taking a break, switching out of the word document and over to your Discord server.
Smiling as you scrolled through the new comments about the upcoming sequel you were in the later stages of writing for Brian and Charli, you let out a rattle of a cough from your chest, groaning at your illness dampening your mood.
“I’m trying to finish this final chapter tonight,” you spoke out into the universe, casting your eyes to the heavens for effect. “I’ve battled through this cold for a week now. It won’t take me down just yet!”
Reaching forward for more cold and flu medicine, you swallowed the capsules down with a painful gulp of water and then felt your forehead. It was hotter than before, though you waved it off as you answered a couple of messages and returned to the final part of the story.
Captivated was the second story in your new trilogy series since your last series Destined had become an overnight sensation. When you sat down to pen the soulmate idea into something more than thoughts in your head, you hadn’t expected the tale to touch so many people over the world. Nor had you believed you would follow it up with To Love You, Forever, And Always either.
You originally felt that Destined was the reason why Brian and Charli’s first story Encounter was easily shared around. The protagonists had their own charms though and you could tell the fan base for this series was different from the last. They were just as eager, however, to find out when the pair would shake free from the star-crossed lovers’ trope and finally give in to the evident love they had for one another.
“Part three it’ll be,” you surmised proudly and somewhat exhaustedly after typing The End onto the electronic manuscript. Leaning back in your chair, you finally allowed yourself to succumb to the illness plaguing you. In a moment of disillusion, your mind conjured up Brian standing before you with concern etched in his eyes. You let the novel scene play out in your head, wishing he was actually here to help you out of your writing office, down to your bedroom and tuck you into bed.
Swinging gently from side to side in your desk chair, you hummed with delight. Brian Kang was your biggest self-indulgence character. You had created Park Jinyoung in Destined to infuriate your main protagonist, but Brian was the ultimate fictional guy. He was playful and kind, caring and thoughtful. He knew when Charli needed him to stand up in her weak moments, and he fought for what he felt was right even when all odds were against him. He also allowed Charli to see his vulnerability and his honesty, gaining him many fans around the world. And if all that wasn’t enough, Brian Kang was incredibly attractive.
You had really created the holy grail of a dream man.
Laughing to yourself in your sick-induced state, you smiled lazily. “Dream men are just that, Y/N. Brian Kang would never exist in this world.”
You nodded to yourself, agreeing with the proclamation, feeling more single in the moment as you did so. It was funny really, you were a successful author of Young Adult romance novels and yet you hadn’t experienced the touch of a man, let alone any ardent confessions since your university days.
“Right, it’s time for bed,” you decided before your mood plummeted further into despair. However, your limbs felt too heavy to move and so you simply closed your eyes once more, hoping a little nap would help you regain some energy to head off to bed later on.
Tumblr media
When you opened your eyes next, you found yourself in your darkened bedroom, smiling gently at bringing yourself to bed sometime during the night that you couldn’t remember. Sitting up slowly, you allowed your gaze to adjust to the dim morning light filtering through the small gap in the curtain, before reaching onto your nightstand for your phone.
You blinked. Instead of finding the device, you saw a kitchen bowl and face cloth resting over the edge of it.
Did you bring that with you in the middle of the night? Surely if you had been attempting to bring down your own fever, the face cloth would have been strewn somewhere in among your bedding after falling asleep with it, not neatly placed back upon the side of the bowl. Looking beyond that, you found a bottle of water with a third of the liquid missing. You did vaguely remember sipping on some water overnight, and that eased your mind from your initial confusion.
Shaking your head, and swinging your legs over the side of your bed, you placed your feet in your slippers before padding back into the office in search of your phone. Maybe you had help overnight after all, and you wanted to check if your mother had come over at your request. She had done that one year when you caught a nasty virus and couldn’t cope on your own anymore. Motherly love was definitely needed, and now that you had completed your obligations with Captivated and sent it off to your editor Lily, you would have no restrictions on who entered your creative space.
“Huh,” you said when you saw your laptop screen still open. You had a habit of closing the screen every night after turning the device off and approached it now with some confusion, trying to recollect what you last did the night before. Nothing rose to the surface immediately and you reached for your phone, blindly hitting speed dial on your mother’s number. And when her greeting rang down the receiver, you were more than perplexed.
“Hey, did you come by last night?”
“No, why?” she answered and then gasped. “Y/N, you sound awful! Did you keep working even though you were sick?!”
“You didn’t come here?” you repeated, fingertips reaching for the sticky note upon the computer screen. “Maybe it was Lily.”
“Lily is out of the country isn’t she?” your Mum reminded and you blinked several times before focusing enough to read the note you held.
You shouldn’t have worked so hard to complete it! Your health is important too. How will I cope if you get any worse? Make sure you rest up well and drink a lot of fluids. I need my best writer in tip top shape to see where my world continues.
I made you breakfast. It’s not much, but make sure you eat before you sit down at this desk, hm?
- B.
Dropping the note, along with letting your mouth fall ajar momentarily, you stuttered out a hasty farewell to your mum before hanging up the phone and looking to the doorway. Cautiously, you walked through your house to the kitchen where you stopped in your tracks at seeing a tea towel covering something on the bench. Gingerly peeling it back when you finally approached it, you gasped when you found several dishes underneath, along with instructions on how to heat it up.
For a split second, your mind conjured Brian up again, imagining him in your kitchen preparing all this. It would totally be just like him to make sure Charli was well fed to regain her energy from any illness.
But, you weren’t Charli Evers.
In fact, you hadn’t even based her off your personality at all, rather, a close online friend of yours who you admired a lot. So, whilst Brian would definitely go to all this trouble for Charli, you sure were clutching at straws thinking of yourself in the same situation.
Who came into your home then?
Distractedly, you heated the porridge and brewed up the tea the mystery person had prepared as well. You carried the tray of food over to your dining table when it was done and sat down before taking your first mouthful.
And then you mulled over who could possibly step into your house that had the initial B.
Maybe it wasn’t a B, you concluded when you realised no one had access to your house with that letter, even as a surname. Climbing back to your feet, you rushed to your office where you had discarded the first note and held it up to inspect the handwriting.
“It could be an R,” you mentioned out loud, then shook your head immediately. Even if the handwriting was looser than most that you knew of, it couldn’t be anything other than a B.
After examining it for a few minutes, you sat down with a huff. You’d never seen the handwriting before.
You didn’t know whether or not to be alarmed.
Had there been an intruder overnight?
Jumping back up, you persevered through the dizziness that plagued you from moving so fast, heading down the hallway to the front door. The chain was still latched and there was no sign of forced entry. Again, making your way to the back door, everything was in order.
As was every possession you owned – minus the kitchen where the food had been prepared. But even then, the dishes that had been used were rinsed and stacked by the sink.
You jumped when you heard a sudden mewl at your feet and clutched at your heart, before stooping down to pick up your cat Binks. The black cat nuzzled into you affectionately before meowing again. “I guess you want to be fed, huh?”
Walking around the counter, you stopped when you found his bowl with some food remaining. You knew Binks wouldn’t leave food overnight. Glancing at the cat, you frowned. “Who did this, Binks?”
The feline merely yawned and settled down to nap in your arms. It certainly brought the saying, cat’s got your tongue, to mind and you rolled your eyes at the infuriating situation.
Sitting down on your couch, you stared at the wall ahead of you as you tried to find an answer to all the evidence. Stroking the purring animal in your arms, you nodded determinedly.
“The only answer is that I did it in a sleep-induced state,” you announced and Binks opened his eyes to look up at you before rolling around to start licking at his back leg. You sighed. “Right, Binks?”
You were certain your cat thought you were insane. However, it was all you could find to be the answer.
“I got up and I took myself to the kitchen and prepared the ice water to cool down the fever. And went to bed. Then maybe I got up again, which is when I placed the cloth on the bowl and prepared the food. I washed my dishes, including the ones I had piling up from being too busy with work and-”
Binks leapt from your lap then, sauntering down the hallway from your side. Getting up to follow him, you ended up back in your home office, where he pounced up onto your desk, standing on the keys to your laptop. “Hey! Get off!”
Swatting the cat away from the device, you noticed that it hadn’t been turned off overnight. That was not like you at all. Logging into your account, you sat down in your desk chair and shifted back suddenly when you found a new document open.
I bet you’re in disbelief about now, right? I guess I would be too. It wasn’t you who looked after you all night long, and did your dishes. Wow, you get behind in things when you’re focused on writing.
Don’t worry. I didn’t look around - much.
Your fever went down over a couple of hours whilst I moved back and forth helping you out. It’s the least I can do after you’ve spent so much time with me. Well, we’ve yet to officially meet.
One day.
- B (your biggest fan)
PS. I fed Binks. He really does have quite the personality.
“Okay!” you sounded in an octave higher, laughing a little to yourself at the same time. “Someone was definitely here. Who is B and how does this person know so much personal information?!”
You were too preoccupied to realise the document to Captivated was still open behind the other one.
And instead of saying The End as it once had, it had been deleted and replaced with To Be Continued.

Tumblr media
A deep exhale. Yor cleared your mind completely, focusing only on your deep inhales, then exhales. All you could see was black behind your lids. Another breath and your fingers twitched against the firm weight under your palms. The energy washed over you, sparking in your fingers. The powerful numbness reached your wrists, then your elbows.
“Take it slow.” Your brow scrunched as you felt the chakra retreat a little lower before shooting up to your shoulders. A spark cracked painfully under your palms. “Sorry…” The apology came low and softly.
Another exhale. The connection sparked in your chest, shooting straight to your heart. You could feel the energy circulating, running through every fiber of your being. It loaded warmth into your system so real that you could almost feel the heat on your skin. You sent your own messages, shooting out feelings of zen, peace, and calm. Your eyes twitched and you focused harder on maintaining the connection. A twitch in your brow. A hiccup in the circulation. Your brows furrowed, but each crease in your forehead led to more holes, the link slipping out of your control. The chakra probed into each crevice in your mind, seeping in and pulling thoughts and memories with reckless abandon.
Parts of your childhood sailed down the stream of consciousness. Your father. Your old family pet. Ramen on Tuesdays. The waterfall outside of the village. Minato becoming Hokage.
You resurfaced with a gasp. You wiped your sweaty palms on your pants. Guy sat, legs crossed and concerned, in front of you. His palms still turned upwards. The corners of his lips slumped.
“Maybe we should take a break.” You opened your mouth to dispute him. Guy spoke your name with a certain amount of sternness.
Guy looked at the clock. He could hardly believe it. And if you hadn’t been sitting in front of him, he wouldn’t have. Two and a half. Two and a half hours since you had burst through the partition door. Two and a half hours since you marched up to him, hands on your hips. He’d never forget the words you said.
“Okay.” Guy remembered your hands firmly on your hips. “I’m ready. I’m ready to tackle this mission the right way.” He recalled your tight lips. “Would you help me? Please.”
Your huffing brought Guy back to reality. Your lips vibrated as you did so.
“I’ll grab some waters.”
You rose from the couch, shedding your hoodie as you did so. You and Guy had been working HEAVEN for a little over a month now with no promising and accessible leads. You were sure that they were out there, but you certainly weren’t getting lucky as of late. So while you waited, all there was to do was practice. You filled up two glasses. Guy leaned against the back of the couch, sticking an arm out to take his drink which you handed him. You circled around to the other end, taking your seat once again. This had become a nightly routine for the two of you.
“I think you’re getting better,” He remarked.
“Really? ‘Cause it doesn’t feel like it.” You fanned yourself with the TV guide. “I feel like I keep slipping easier and easier.”
“It’s a powerful jutsu and I have deep recesses of strong chakra. I’d be surprised if mastering it was easy.” Guy placed his empty glass on the coffee table. Practicing this jutsu took a lot of chakra out of him too. “But really, you’re improving. It’s stronger, I can tell that you have more control.”
“I’ll need to have all the control I can get if we get into trouble with someone competent.”
“Who? Like Orochimaru?” Guy hummed. You sucked on the cheek. Your head tilted to the side.
“Well we don’t know it’s Orochimaru.” A sip.
“We’re pretty sure, though.” You rolled the glass between your hands, watching as the creases in your hands left prints on the cold surface.
“I dunno, Guy. I just have a feeling about this and my feeling is that this isn’t Orochimaru’s doing.” Guy bit back a small smile. You’ve been using his name as of late.
“All signs seem to be pointing to him.” He told you with a shrug. “But you’re right, we should wait until we have some more evidence.” He shifted cross-legged on the couch cushions. He held his hands out, wrists resting on his knees. “Ready to go again?”
You set your drink down.
“Yeah, sure.”
You mirrored his posture. Closing your eyes, you took a breath. Your hands slipped onto his, surrendering your vulnerability and your mind.
The chakra cracked like static, excited as it flowed from you. The loading occurred quicker this time, though not by much. The frigid heat rose in you, occupying chakra point after chakra point. You felt it well in the center of your forehead as the energy spread to your core of your chest. Guy spoke your name softly, almost in question. Your brow twitched, but the circulation remained uninterrupted. You felt his warmth across your network being kept at bay.
“I know it was a long time ago, but you haven’t heard from that Kabuto, have you?”
Immediately, you faltered. The connection continued, probing into your soul. You tried your best to keep it at bay. You fed through unrelated memories. Lunch at the Academy. Late night workouts. It flowed into Guy, a sense of peace spreading across his skin.
“No.”
The corner of his lips twitched. Something was off, but he couldn’t place it.
***
Working HEAVEN could hardly be considered a task that could be run like a well-oiled machine, but somehow both you and Guy fell into a rhythm that seemed to work. Guy ran a rag over an empty space at the counter of the bar. A new customer quickly took the seat. With a flick of his wrist, a napkin flew in front of the patron, gently floating down onto the hard surface in front of his folded arms. The man looked up, impressed.
“What can I get for ya’?”
Daisuke emerged from the hall to his office, nodding happily at the state of his business. He was absolutely thrilled to say the least, especially with his new hires. Guy handled the bar with such skill, that HEAVEN quickly started to rise as one of the hottest clubs in the Sound. And as he predicted, Daisuke’s new hostess seemed to leave all her clients like they had just awakened from a sweet dream. Business was booming. The club was busier than ever and the hostesses were more exhausted than ever. Together, they worked a sea of men, all telling themselves that the commission would make the hassle of taking on more regulars was worth it. A hired band played upbeat music over the low roar of chatter.
Guy noticed Daisuke’s appearance at the side of the bar, his face lighting up. He gave an exclamation, juggling bottles in his usual show.
“Ah! Daisuke! Care for a drink?” Guy called out jovially, bouncing a bottle of liquor off of his bicep.
“Not at the moment, Genki. I think I’m still a bit tipsy from what you made me earlier!” Daisuke laughed deeply. You watched the interaction out of the corner of your eye, tucked under the arm of a client. Guy didn’t miss a beat, pouring a fancy concoction into four glasses at once.
“Well, let me know, Boss!” He said, letting his Might Guy show for a moment in his signature thumbs-up pose. Daisuke mirrored the gesture.
“As long as you don’t drop any of my product!” And with that joke, he walked off into the club. Your focus returned to your customer, almost done with your session.
You made momentary eye contact with Guy. Slowly, you moved a piece of hair behind your ear. Code. Guy flicked his bangs to the side. He finished the round of drinks in front of him, putting them on a tray for the next hostess before servicing the bar patrons. One part of being a ninja that Guy silently thanked was the ability to multitask quickly and efficiently. He turned out order after order, his mind almost turning off as he did so. Almost. After all, making drinks was hardly his current focus.
Guy studied a man at the edge of the bar with his peripheral vision. He had been there a while and looked to be a high ranking sound ninja. Guy slid him his refill and the stranger gave him thanks. Sensing a break in his work, Guy took a moment to stop.
“All drinks tonight, my good friend?” He mused. The customer hummed. “There are so many beautiful women here tonight, you shouldn’t have to keep me company.” Guy chuckled. Even in his acting, he found it hard to play into his surroundings. Much like you, Guy turned to you to help find ways of his own to circumvent his comfort zones. The man let out a snicker.
“My girl ain’t here tonight.” He took a large gulp of his strong beverage. Guy busied his hands with a monotonous task, but looked up in feigned shock.
“You’ve tried out the new one, haven’t you?”
Guy couldn’t help but cringe on the inside. Despite working this mission for quite some time, he still had trouble adjusting to the language. He nearly gagged. Tried out the new one. Like he spoke about a pair of pants or some other object. But, he would put his reservations aside. He would be damned if he didn’t act like a professional, after all. Guy glanced over at you, partially deliberate and partially to remind himself to find comfort in your coaching.
The patron followed Guy’s gaze. He leaned against the bar as he craned his neck, his glass gripped loosely by the top between his fingers. He clicked his tongue.
“Eh, no. I have not. What’s she like?” Guy lined up a few groups of drinks on a tray. “Aside from drop dead gorgeous of course.”
“Spitfire if I’ve ever met one. Intelligent, feisty-” The ninja scoffed.
“Ah, nah I pass on difficult women.”
“Not difficult.” Guy leaned on the counter. “Sexy, confident. Her name literally means ‘dream’, you know. Trust me, you’ll walk out of here in a daze.” The man looked up from his drink with sceptical amusement.
“Either you’re a really good salesman or she was one hell of a lay.”
“Don’t kiss and tell, Genki.” Your chide cut through the atmosphere.
The attention of the bar fell to you as you sauntered up. One of the patrons yielded his seat to you and you thanked him, dragging one hand down his cheek. The chakra flowed, undetectably, from your fingers. The man’s face turned red. You slid onto the stool which happened to be next to Guy’s target.
“I’d never dream of it, Yume.” Guy chuckled and you gave him a subtle nod. You could take it from here.
Guy returned to his duties at the bar, putting on a show to distract the crowd from your interrogation. One hand on the ninja’s wrist and he wouldn’t suspect a thing. Guy watched your handiwork out of the corner of his eye. You had really grown in your training. Even to his elite senses, your jutsu was near undetectable.
And client after client, it went exactly like that. Guy began to learn what characteristics to look for and you began to extract information quicker and quicker. Granted, most of the information did not turn out to be anything useful. You sorted through the confessions in a mental list. Married. Alcoholic. Gay. Cheater. It had been far too long since you and Guy got a break.
The night creeped up on you. The longer you worked, the less you seemed to acknowledge time. Drink after drink and client after client, the staff of HEAVEN worked into the night. And with just an hour before closing the pack came in as they usually did.
The group of Sound ninja seemed to have grown in size since you had last seen them the day before. They hounded the bar, Guy scrambling to prepare all of their orders. You had remained at your pace on the far end, stalking the group with your eyes in preparation to pull at a weak link. After all, they would be leaving for the back room soon and no time could be spared.
You spied Shou on the other side of the bar and playfully motioned him over.
“Shou!” You greeted grandly with a smile, arms out to embrace him. “When’s the next time you’re taking me away from this place?” Shou fell into your arms, one hand lingering around your waist.
“Soon. Don’t be impatient, now.” He spoke with his usual sternness, but you could detect the faintest playfulness in his voice.
“Hey, lover boy!” Another soldier called from a few stools down. He leaned back, holding out a glass. “Get over here and get your fuckin’ drink.”
Shou laughed, waving off his friend before turning to you for a kiss. Your hand came up between the two of you, obstructing his lips with two of your fingers.
“Go get your drink, baby.”
Guy eyed you, but swiftly turned away.
The hour flew by. As clients left, more and more hostesses came to mingle around the bar, hoping to milk some extra commission money. But the group decided to turn into the back room around closing. The women broke away together, varying levels of sour. In the migration, you spied the same woman who typically came with the group finishing her drink at the end of the bar. As the men left, she threw down a few ryō before exiting HEAVEN like every time before.
Except this time, you were curious, curious enough to follow. Wordlessly you slid down from your stool, making your way to the hall. You stopped right across from the dressing room to glance down towards Daisuke’s office. A muffled uproar came from behind the mahogany door. You pushed a hand into the door of the kitchenette as Yuzuki stormed out of the office, clutching a small piece of paper in her hand.
“This is shit, Daisuke. You know this is shit. I might as well go to HEX if you have the nerve to steal from us like this.”
You could see straight into the small room. Daisuke sat still at his desk. Yuzuki stormed past you.
“Are you okay?” You asked, letting the kitchenette door close as you turned to face her. She seethed, jaw clenched.
“I can’t deal with this right now.” Yuzuki huffed before storming off. You took a breath before resuming your task.
***
The woman stood right outside where you expected her. She buried herself in her jacket, leaning against the side of the building. You carried two disposable cups in your hands, steaming and warm. You approached her and offered her one.
“It’s been getting colder out here.” You observed. The woman looked down at the cup.
“What is it?”
“Green tea,” You answered. “I thought you might like a cup.” Your breath floated visibly in the cold air. She gave a low nod before taking the cup from you with silent thanks.
“That’s very kind of you.” You took your spot next to her, lower back flush against the wall.
“Well, I thought you could use something to help that headache you no doubt have after being in that crowd.” You joked and she gave a light snicker and a smile. You blew on your beverage. You stood together looking out at the stars. That had to be your favorite part of the night. The neon signs just started to turn off around this time, revealing the specks of light above. “I just noticed that you come out here every time the others go back and that perhaps you could use some company.”
“I can’t say that these kinds of places are exactly my favorite.” She admitted before pausing. “No offense.” You waved at her with one hand.
“None taken, I completely understand.” Another pause. The wind blew, whipping your faux hair around and taking a few degrees off of your tea. You heard a scoff.
“I don’t get how you people do it.” The woman shook her head slowly, crumpling up the cup before shooting it to the nearest trash. She missed.
“Do what?”
“Deal with those guys all day.” The woman shoved her hands in her pockets. “I give you serious props. I couldn’t do that.” You looked at her kindly.
“Sometimes you do what you have to do.” You smiled softly, directing your gaze downward. “But… I have restrained myself from multiple punches. Genki can attest to that.” The woman snickered along with you.
“Yeah, me too. But something tells me that you have more self-restraint than I do.” She hummed. “Genki, that’s the-”
“Bartender.” You nodded and she mirrored, an eyebrow quirking.
“He sure is sweet on you.” She mused. You blinked at her blankly, expecting an explanation. She shifted. “Anyone with a brain could see that. But who knows.”
You swirled around the half inch of green tea that remained in your cup.
“Yeah, who knows.”
Notes: What do ya’ll think about the pacing so far? I’m curious because I think it’s too fast. Will someone let me know if it’s too fast? Thanks.
Thank you to everyone who liked, reblogged, and followed. Your support means so much and is greatly appreciated.

Wendy and the Lost Boys Chapter 8
It was the week of Valentines Day and it marked two months since Nikki had seen Sasha. She hadn’t come to any of their shows or slept at the apartment. He hadn’t seen her at any of her favorite spots that he had been casually dropping by. There was no reason why he should go looking for her; if he saw her he didn’t know what he would even say to her. He couldn’t just say he was sorry because they had decided they were exclusive. Even though he had technically done nothing wrong he was feeling bad for his actions.
They had a few shows on the 12, 13 and 14th at the Whisky coming up and Nikki wanted to call and invite her to one. He could use a stupid excuse like the band wanted to see her or that they had a new song to play. If he could just lure her back out maybe when he saw her things wouldn’t be awkward or weird. He was standing in front of the payphone willing himself to make the call. He dialed her sorority house and when he got the busy signal cursed. What did he expect trying to call a house of girls the week of Valentine’s Day?
“Why are you on the payphone?” He turned to see Tommy looking at him, “Is Lita still at the apartment?” The drummer rolled his eyes when Nikki nodded to confirm this, “Get her to leave before band practice. She’s been stuck to your side for two months without leaving. Everyone wants time to just rehearse without her butting in.” For Tommy to say something meant that everyone was getting fed up.
“She’s just trying-“
“I don’t care if she’s trying to suck all our dicks and give us hundred dollar bills after. Get her out of the apartment for a couple hours so we can practice.” Tommy interrupted before moving to jump into his van and take off. Band practice was in an hour so he needed to figure out how to get her out before everyone was there.
The door to her room burst open and she glared seeing Tommy standing there. . Sasha had been avoiding him, only seeing him when he showed up for Sunday dinners at home. So him showing up like this wasn’t something that was completely out of character. She could see him still holding the keys to his van which meant he wanted to go somewhere and she didn’t exactly trust him to keep her away from the self prescribed segregation she had given herself to get over Nikki.
“No and get out.” She said flipping through her magazine, she wasn’t going to go along with whatever stupid plan he had. Tommy was moving closer and she watched him pick up her leather jacket and her purse. She shut her magazine now looking around for something that she could defend herself with. “What are you doing?” She asked  as he moved towards her. She screamed, slamming a pillow into his head trying to jump off the bed but slipping and falling half on her face. Tommy took her fall as a great excuse to scoop up the girl and toss her over his shoulder. She tried to point a Ked towards his balls, kicking at him.
“Play nice.” he warned, spinning around the room and then tossing her down. “I want you to come to band practice.” He watched the way that she looked at him, wondering if he was actually being serious. “Nikki is going to get Lita out of the apartment.” He stopped when he saw her eyebrows fold together.
“Is she living with you?” Tommy had said too much and he wanted to back pedal. This was absolutely not what he had wanted to happen. From him not answering she knew what that meant. Her eyes widened slightly, “Are they dating, Tommy? Like is she his girlfriend?” Everything in her wanted him to say no and to laugh it off. She wanted him to say she just hung around the apartment and that Nikki didn’t date but he just looked down trying to take a long time to find and light a cigarette.
“You know how Nikki is-“
“Yeah I do know how he is.” She snapped this at a Tommy and he could see she was upset. This anger had settled on her face with tears threatening to fall out of her eyes, “I want to punch him in the face.” She admitted as she started pacing around the room. “Why am I not good enough for him but she is? He told me a bunch of times he doesn’t date people. I guess it just means that I’m not good enough.” She had stopped and was looking in the mirror at herself.
“Nikki is just an asshole. You know nothing lasts with him. And you always talk about Len at home so I thought you were moving on from whatever you had with Sixx.” She turned to him giving Tommy a look.
“Don’t bring Len into this. That whole situation is complicated and you have a big mouth. And you’re trying to take the pressure off of me being mad at Nikki.” She added pointing a finger at him in warning. Sasha walked over, flopping on the bed next to Tommy. They both laid down looking up at the ceiling. “Do you think there is something wrong with me? Is that why I can’t be in a normal relationship where someone loves me?” She asked. Tommy reached out grabbing her hand.
“Nikki doesn’t love anybody. I don’t even think he really likes himself. I think Lita just walked into his life and he’s waiting for her to decide to walk out because he doesn’t know what else to do. It has nothing to do with who you are. You’re smart and beautiful. But sometimes you forget you’re only 18. You have a minimum of ten years before you should get married. Maybe you should just have fun. Forget Nikki, Forget Len. Just have fun.” She rolled her eyes at him. She was a serious person and that’s what was fun to her.
“I can’t forget Len and I’ve avoided Sixx for two months so I’m doing great there.” She knew avoiding Nikki wouldn’t fix anything but staying away from him meant she didn’t make any mistakes. Like kissing his stupid face or punching it. Both emotions seemed to be appropriate for him.
“Come to band practice.” Tommy asked. “Like forget about Sixx and just come and hang out with everyone. You can get drunk on the couch and throw beer cans at us like when we first started.” He knew she wasn’t going to come and the way she rolled over onto her stomach made him sigh, “Just stop by one day and stop letting Sixx ruin the Strip for you.” He warned, getting off the bed. Sasha shot him a look and he was gone. And all the problems were still there.
It was June 1st when she finally got the courage to finally show up at the house. The only reason she found herself at the house was because she had moved home for the summer and didn’t want to be home. So it was close to one in the morning when she was crawling through the window to a packed apartment, trying to take in everything that was going on.
Her eyes scanned trying to see where everyone was and just trying to get to Tommy’s room where she would lock herself until he tried to get in. She saw Vince being pulled into the bathroom by some random girl, Mick was in the kitchen grabbing a bottle of vodka with his back to her, Tommy was sitting next to someone talking excitedly with a mountain of cocaine in front of him, and Nikki was nowhere to be found. Not having eyes on the bassist left her unsettled. She kept her head down as she slid past people turning the door knob to Tommy’s room and pushing the door open. She said a silent prayer of thanks that the room was empty.
“Bedrooms are off limits.” A voice made her turn and she saw Lita was standing there, hands on her hips. She didn’t seem to recognize who Sasha was and for some reason that made her even angrier. She threw the backpack she had filled onto the bed and just slammed the door turning the lock and tucking a chair under it. She heard the smacking of a hand, “HEY. YOU NEED TO GET OUT.” Sasha lit a cigarette, knowing that her hope of staying out of sight until the morning was out. There was the sound of knocking and the door knob was shaking.
“HEY, open up.” It was Tommy’s voice now and she knew this was her chance to stay hidden. She opened the door a crack grabbing his arm and yanking him inside and slamming herself against the door so no one saw her as she locked it, “Listen babe, I can’t just let you-Sasha!” He couldn’t believe she was in his room.
“I need to stay here because I didn’t figure out my summer apartment so I’m living at home.” She ranted. Tommy just waved her off.
“If you’re here, you need to party. No hiding in this room. We’re all talking about Canada. You need to come with us.” He was already pulling her out of the bedroom back to the party. Sasha knew this was going to happen so she had dressed up a little in a skin tight short dress in white.
“Canada, what the-“ she was cut off as they entered the room again and she saw him. He was laughing leaning against the wall by the window. Nikki looked up when Tommy was rushing back into the living room and his smile faltered seeing Sasha there. She nearly tripped over her own feet as she was pulled into the couch, her eyes snapping away from the intense look the bassist was giving her. The feeling of her stomach doing flips made her feel sick and she wished she had just called Len instead of showing up at the house. It had been half a year and still just a Nikki looking at her made her forget how to breathe. She drank the beer pressed into her hand and tried not to turn and look again the green eyes she could feel staring into her.
Since Tommy had pulled her out of the bedroom Nikki couldn’t stop watching her. She was beautiful in that white dress, standing out among all the black shirts and leather jackets. Even in the chaos he could hear her laughter. Thank God Lita was there keeping him anchored or he’d go over and say something to her that would probably ruin his whole Nikki Sixx persona. She was practically holding a band meeting towards the end me of the night. The guys all huddled up with her heads bent as she explained something.
“Nikki, come here.” Vince called out. He watched the way she looked up at his name, the long eyelashes dancing to keep her gaze off him. He untangled himself from Lita watching the dirty look she shot over to the table.  “Sasha figured out how to do your publicity stunt in Canada.” He looked up at her, cocking an eyebrow at her. She looked at Nikki, her heart aching thinking of everything. She tore her eyes away from them standing up and smirking.
“I’ll talk to your manager tomorrow. But I’m going to bed now. Goodnight, kids.” He was jealous of the way she smiled at the other guys ignoring him big he also knew that she still must have felt something if she was leaving from him being so close. When she had slipped into Tommy’s room he heard Vince sigh.
“She is still pissed at you.” Vince pointed out making Nikki glare at him, “Wait until she finds out you’re moving out with Lita when we get back from Canada. She’s going to be thrilled.” He was so thankful for all his bandmates' support and understanding in the situation. They really did such a good job of making everything easier.
“Isn’t your wife pregnant at home?” Nikki asked making the singer glare at him, “Angel isn’t mad at me. Everything happened months ago and we never even had sex so it’s not a big deal.” He had given them too much information.
“Wait you didn’t even bone and you’ve both been moping around for six months?” Tommy asked, his mouth partly open. A hand of Nikki’s shoulder stopped the conversation as they all looked up at Lita.
“Who didn’t bone?” The guys all were silent and Nikki knew he had to get them out of them. He stayed silent moving to step outside of the apartment. He needed a second to collect his thoughts. He sat down in the chair that was outside to figure things out. There had never been a time where seeing a girl had absolutely consumed him like it had with seeing Sasha. He didn’t know why the time between them didn’t help. He still wanted to be around her and touch her; how did she get even more attractive in the time they were apart?
“Do you have a cigarette?” The voice brought Nikki out of his thoughts and he noticed the sun was starting to rise. Sasha was outside in her keds, shorts and a tshirt. Nikki realized he must have fallen asleep on the plastic chair. He handed her the pack, watching her light up the cigarette and sigh out a breath. “Tommy said I could come to Canada for your tour but I figured I’d ask you if it was okay first. I don’t want to step on any toes.” He could smell her shampoo and a new perfume. She looked at him and he realized he was supposed to respond.
“I’m sorry.” Her eyebrows furrowed together confused and then realization settled on her features. “I don’t even know what happened. I was thinking about you and then I was home with her and she just hasn’t left.” Nikki always articulated so now that he wasn’t being his cool calm self he was feeling off kilter.
“So I take it as it’s fine if I come on tour. Thanks.” She flicked her cigarette off the balcony and shook Tommy’s van keys at him. “You need to drive me to meet with your manager.” She threw the keys at him and he smirked feeling a little better knowing she would be back around them.
“RUN.” Tommy screamed pulling Sasha down the hallway. They skidded around a corner, the police hot on their trail. They ripped the door open to the stairs and he shoved her into the hallway before taking off in another direction. Sasha ran up the two flights of stairs and down the hallway slamming her fist on the door to Mick's room. When he didn’t answer she moved to Vince’s room.
“OPEN THE DOOR YOU ASSHOLE.” She gave it a kick and saw the door next to his open and Nikki stick his head out. She could hear footsteps and dove inside, shutting the door behind her and taking a deep breath. There was the sound of running and she bit her lip to keep in the laughter.
“What did you do?” He asked watching how she threw herself into the bed. She was obviously shitfaced or fucked up on something. Which seemed to be how things were going for the last week. Since she had showed up at the apartment she had been making moves for them and staying constantly fucked up. It had gotten so bad Nikki had asked Tommy what happened but no one knew.
“Tommy and I did mescaline.” She giggled at this and Nikki tried not to smile at how happy she seemed to reveal this. “And we were walking around and this dude came towards us and he was getting big and small like an accordion.” She started giggling again, kicking off her shoes. “So I told Tommy and he threw a plate at the guy. And we started throwing stuff at all these people chasing us around the halls.” She was wiggling out of her shorts and he had no idea what the fuck she was doing. “But we ran out of room service and the police came. So we had to run.” That’s how she had ended up here. She pulled off her shirt and he groaned seeing she was now just in her white underwear. “I’m tired from all that rubbing.” She said with a yawn, “Cmon, I’m probably going to have to bail Tommy out of jail in a few hours and I want to sleep.” She was laying in his bed, telling him to come in there with her but Nikki gave her the space and just let her fall into her sleep. As much as he wanted everything to be okay with her he knew she was going through something and trying to hide with the band. He just needed to find out what was going on with her.
The sun was hitting her back, warm and comforting, dragging her out of the deep sleep that she had fallen into. Sasha felt like she had been running around all night and that she had been hit with a sledgehammer. She groaned burying herself deeper in the pillow that smelled oddly like- She sat straight up the covers falling off her as she looked around the room. It was at least empty so there would be no awkward moment where she would have to talk to Nikki. The phone rang and since she was afraid that it would be Tommy calling from jail she reached out to answer it.
“Is this Nikki’s room?” a voice on the other line asked when she said hello. Sasha yawned, looking around and confirming that it was. She needed to get dressed and shower before going and finding everyone, “Why are you in my boyfriend's room?” she opened her mouth pulling the receiver away from her ear. Of course Lita was calling at 9am to check in Nikki when he was on tour. That was a sign of how much she trusted the bassist but also it was fair seeing who he was.
“Oh no, no no no. I did not sleep with Nikki. I did a bunch of drugs with Tommy, ran from the cops and ended up in his room to hide from them. I wouldnt have sex with Nikki well he is dating you.” She wanted to establish this understanding so maybe they could be friends. She got along fine with Vince’s wife and Beth knew she wasn’t a threat. Sasha watched as the door to the room opened and the woman's boyfriend walked in holding a tray with coffee and breakfast on it. He stopped seeing her sitting on the edge of the bed topless on the phone. She held out her hand signaling the coffee not seeing to notice that her tits were out. Nikki smirked giving her the cup of coffee watching the way she gave him a big smile.
“Are you on the phone with your boyfriend? Does he know that you spent the night in my bed?” he was trying to tease her thinking that it would be funny to get her in trouble but she just turned white. A pillow went flying towards him and all he did was smile. He didn’t care who got in trouble because of what he was saying. She also realized he didn’t know it was Lita on the phone and not Len.
“What the fuck did he just say?” the woman on the other line asked now getting mad about everything. There was no getting her to like Sasha now. Any idea that they could be friends and things could be nice when she hung out with the band was flying out the window because of SIxx’s big stupid mouth., “BUT HIM ON THE FUCKING PHONE YOU BITCH.” Sasha held out the phone giving Nikki a look like he was an absolute idiot. Now he had gotten them both in trouble from him being a moron
“It’s your girlfriend, Sixx. And now she knows I spent the night naked in your bed.” she said it loud enough that the woman would hear. That smile that she had blossoming across her face thinking that she was doing something to get him in trouble. Instead of taking the phone and talking to her Nikki just hung it up. Watching how her face fell realizIng that he wasn’t going to get into trouble like she had wanted for him.
“Don’t answer the hotel room phone, Angel. That’s just asking for trouble.” he threw her a shirt from the chair watching the way she smirked as she pulled it on, taking a sip of the hot coffee. The phone rang and she looked at it. “Tommy is sleeping off a very bad hangover in the room so there is no reason to answer that phone.” he watched her drink down her coffee, not talking to him for a second.
“Thanks for letting me crash here last night. Sorry that I answered the phone.” Nikki shrugged his shoulders. He wasn’t going to let her get arrested, “Can we talk about something and you can’t make it weird?” she asked after a few minutes of them eating in silence. He looked up at her wondering what would be weird of her to ask.
“I’m not going to get weird from a question, angel.” as he said this his heart started to race and he had to lick his lips as he felt like his mouth was starting to go dry from the nerves building in his stomach. Sasha sat on the bed, her hands wrapped around the ceramic cup wearing one of the Motley Crue shirts he had taken. He always imagined a life like this, a girl in his bed wearing his band stuff but seeing that it was Sasha there was something different. It was like at this  moment he was doing exactly what he wanted to be doing with exactly who he wanted to be with. All the ideas he had of letting her sow her wild oats were gone and NIkki wanted to be selfish and just have her. She could grow up with him and he’d show her everything that she would need or want  to experience.
“It’s about Len.” she gulped and her eyes flashed down at what was probably lukewarm coffee back up to look at  him, “And I think it’s about you too.” she made eye contact again with him. Sasha needed to ask him about why he didn’t want her and the awkwardness from the conversation was already weighing heavy, “Is there something about me that makes it so that guys don’t want me?” his eyebrows furrowed in. “I mean, Len and I got into this big fight because-” she paused as a pink blush warmed her cheeks and her hand went to touch her neck. He hadn’t seen her so uncomfortable before and didn’t like how uncomfortable she was getting talking about this. There was a knock on the door making them both look up.
“Nikki, it’s me. We need to have a band meeting now. I have everyone with me.” Sasha audibly groaned hearing the manager's voice. Of course there would be a full band meeting when she was just starting to talk to him again. She was on the bed in just his shirt too, awesome, she thought as she watch Nikki open up the door and all the band coming in. Mick saw her first and just shook his head at her, Tommy gave her a confused look but sat next to her on the bed taking her half a cup of coffee, and when Vince came in he started clapping.
“FINALLY!” he cheered smacking Nikki on the back like he was proud of him. He moved over trying to ruffle her hair but getting smacked in the arm before he could touch her.
“Sit down, Vince.” She muttered, not even bothering to correct them. Sasha got up ready to leave but Tommy pulled her down to sit with them just giving her a slight shake of the head as they all turned to look at the band manager.
“Tonight will be the last show of the tour. We will fly back to LA in the morning. I bought tickets for all the band members.” He gave a pointed look to Sasha to let her know she would be on her own for airfare, “We’ve lost money so far and pretty much all the bullshit you’ve guys have done has cost us more money than we have made. So that’s that.” She looked over to where Nikki was, a shattered look on his face as he was trying to process what this guy was saying to them. All the guys had this look of dejection on their face at this. “But when you get back to LA Elektra wants you to start working on your next record.” They all sort of peaked up at this information.
Everyone sat around talking for a little while about everything before one by one they all left Nikki’s room. Sasha was still on his bed, her head resting on her knees as she looked over at the bassist. He had switched coffee out for a bottle of Jack Daniel’s by now. He looked over at her, the way her blonde hair was shining in the sunlight and how the dark t shirt clashed with the white linen of the bed. They stared at each other for a second before he was moving over to her, his hand finding its way into the silken maze of her hair and he was tugging her to him. Sasha could feel her heart beating as he inched their heads together, his forehead resting against hers.
“I just want to feel better about everything.” He muttered. She was wrapping herself around him, easing him out of his misery with soft touches on his face, her hand on the skin below his shirt. Sasha laid him in the bed beside her, wrapping him up in her body and pressing kisses on his face. Her hands in his hair as she held his head to her chest and comforted him.
“It’s okay, Sixx. You have a whole new album to write about me.” She teased softly, feeling his smile. Nikki’s hands were creeping up the back of her shirt and she remembered what it felt like to be touched and feel on fire. He could feel the way she shifted closer to him and smirked.
“It would be easy to write an album about you, angel.” Shifting her and watching the way she sighed out her hands in his hair, “I’ve missed this.” He admitted, watching the way she was smiling in his arms. It was easy when they weren’t mad at each other.
“It’s nice to feel tired and want to sleep.” She joked, but she was yawning and he knew she was going to fall asleep. Nikki adjusted her in his arms watching the soft smile she had. It was going to be hard to go back to LA and regular life; If she was around he couldn’t just have his life with Lita. Plus Sasha had Len, even if she was being strange about the whole thing.  There were so many questions without any answers.

True Winchester Fashion | Adam Milligan x Reader (Oneshot?)
Prompt: Meet Cute
Fandom: Supernatural
Warnings: Mentions of gore, minor swearing, only brief fluff because Winchesters can’t catch a break
Words: 1643
A/N: This was supposed to be fluffy, why am I like this? I haven’t caught up with SPN, all I know from S15 is Adam’s brief appearance. This is another idea I had way before S15, revised to fit his current situation, of how they would bring back Adam again in my vain hope of him recurring more often.
-
The bar wasn’t exactly your thing, but your friends wanted to celebrate the end of the grueling final exams and teased you for being boring. All you wanted to do was borrow your neighbor’s netflix account and relax with a tub of ice cream. They weren’t having it and were determined to get you laid. You were determined to make sure they don’t get in trouble and drive them home.
Three shots in and your little group had already attracted unwanted attention. Three guys at the billiards table kept glancing at your group, whispering among each other while smirking and laughing. You only hoped that they’d keep their distance, but that may be wishful thinking.
“Hey, we’re going to the bathroom,” one of your friends said, “Can you watch our drinks?”
“Of course,” you said.
They swung an arm around each other’s neck and made their way towards the heavily graffitied restrooms, dodging other patrons on their way in. You sighed, wondering how many bottles they were going to drink before they called it a night. It was a pain to clean up their vomit from your backseat last time. A price to pay for being the designated driver.
From the corner of your eye, you could see those three guys putting down their pool cue sticks and making their way towards the bar area. You let out a shaky breath, glancing back at the bathroom doors for your friends.
“Hey, is this seat taken?” You turned and saw a man with a pair of familiar hazel eyes standing next to you. He smiled. “I’m Adam, by the way.”
“I know. We had a few classes together,” you said, briefly looking away to hide how flustered you were at his sudden appearance. “You borrowed my notes for Micro lab once.”
“Yeah, (Y/n), right?” You nodded. “Let me return the favor and make sure that the three little piggies over there don’t bother you.”
You sighed in relief. “Thank you.”
Adam hopped onto the stool next to you and ordered a beer. “So, got any plans for the break?”
“Not really. Mostly work. You?”
He sighed. “I was hoping to visit family, but they haven’t answered any of my calls. Must be a busy year for them with the whole… family business thing.”
“Family business? What does your family do?”
“Uh,” he paused, taking a swig of his beer.
He could still say they were hunters, but he didn’t want to go off on a tangent of what they hunt. Once, he had to deal with someone’s rant about the ethics of hunting animals and while he knew you, he didn't know you enough to know whether you’d do that. He looked down at the bottle and found an answer.
“Brewing. My family owns a brewing company. Winchester and Milligan, or W and M. It’s small, but it’s something.” He shook his head and pointed his bottle at you. “What about you?”
“I work at the library,” you said with a shrug, “Boring, I know.”
Adam shook his head. “No, not boring at all. Is it the public library?”
“Museum library, actually.”
“Even cooler!” You looked down bashfully, shaking your head at him. “It’s true!”
You and Adam chatted for almost half an hour when you realized that your friends were taking too long. You frowned, checking your phone for any messages and found none. Adam could sense your distress, but you excused yourself to go and check on them in the bathroom.
Passing two couples in a heavy makeout session, you squeezed your way to the bathroom, calling out the names of your friends. They weren’t at the sinks, so you made your way towards the stalls, looking out for their shoes. Halfway down, you found a sight that made your stomach churn. A scream was stuck in your throat as you shakily opened the stall door.
There was a high pitched noise, then it went dark.
Everyone near the bathrooms heard the scream, but no one dared to move. Adam cursed under his breath rushing over and bursted through the door. He found you collapsed on the sticky floor next to a pool of blood. He checked you for a pulse, which was faint, and if you had any injuries. Seeing that you had only fainted, he gently propped you up against the wall and stood to investigate the blood. It was one of your friends slumped over the toilet seat, neck viciously ripped open, lifeless eyes left wide open.
“Son of a bitch,” he muttered. His brothers better answer their damn phones this time.
-
In true Winchester fashion, when one case is finally closed, another one opens up. They had done a full day of well earned rest when their little brother called them, sending several text messages when they didn’t answer. It wasn’t how they wanted to reunite with him, but that was just how it was going to be.
They rolled up to the bar, red and blue lighting up the parking lot. An ambulance was parked on the side with what looked to be a college student wrapped in a blanket sitting at the back being examined by medics.
Sam and Dean flashed their badges and were allowed to pass the police tape. Tucking their badges away, they spotted Adam next to the ambulance talking to one of the medics. They nodded at him, making their way towards the sheriff to get the formalities out of the way.
“According to those two kids there,” the sheriff said, gesturing to Adam and the college student before leading Sam and Dean into the bar, “Their friends had gone to the bathroom and didn’t come out for almost half an hour. One went to check on them and fainted and I don’t blame them. You might want to brace yourselves for this one, agents.”
“Trust me, in our line of work, nothing surprises us,” Dean said with a smirk.
Adam watched his brothers go before turning back to you. The medics had cleared you, saying that you were still in shock but you were okay to leave. He led you away from the ambulance, replacing the blanket with his jacket.
“Don’t worry, (Y/n), they’ve got this covered,” he assured you.
You remained silent, still trying to come to terms with what had happened to your friend and wondering what kind of monster would have done this. There was also the fact that your other friend was missing from the scene and could not be contacted. It all happened so fast, how could this have happened in less than an hour with no one noticing?
You didn’t realize how long you were just standing there, spacing out, until Adam started speaking again. “I’m going to talk to the feds over there, okay? You’ll be okay, right?”
You nodded. He gave you a once over filled with concern, fixing his jacket over your shoulders before walking towards the towering federal agents that came to investigate. You blinked, a strange thought that they would pass as brothers. The agents looked over at you and gave you a polite smile and a nod of acknowledgement, then turned their attention back to Adam.
“They’re cute. Nice touch with the jacket,” Dean teased, “Look at our little bro carrying down the family legacy of being a casanova.”
Sam huffed out a laugh. “We’ll talk about his love life later,” he said, “What do you guys think?”
“Vampire?” Adam guessed, “Is messy toilet murder their M.O.?”
Sam shook his head. “Well, they usually try to be more discreet. It’s also possible that they’ve taken the friend back to their den. Did you notice anyone going in and out of the bathroom?”
“No, I-”
“He was probably busy chatting up his cute friend over there,” Dean said. Adam glared at him, earning a playful smirk in return and a slap on the shoulder. “I’ll go ask around for any more witnesses.”
“Hey,” Sam said, snapping Adam’s attention away from their older brother, “Let’s get this over with and we’ll catch up later, okay?”
Adam nodded, running a hand through his hair. “Okay, and, uh… (Y/n) is still in shock, so be careful with them.”
Sam suppressed a chuckle. “Dude, you realize how long we’ve been doing this gig? I know. We’ll see you later.”
You were holding Adam’s jacket tighter around you, the image of your friend in the bathroom engraved into your brain. They were just slumped over like a life size doll, the smell of iron and piss in the air, the loud rock music mixed with moans from the couples making out, it was all like a scene in a movie that you couldn’t believe you were in. There was no scream or ruckus or anything and suddenly they’re gone just like that.
One of the federal agents walked up to you, going through the usual greetings and then the questionings. You told him what you told the sheriff, doubting that it was going to be much help. Then, he started to ask questions that caught you off guard. If there were any disappearances in the last month, anyone you knew that started acting differently and particularly avoiding going outside. You answered with the best of your abilities before you were dismissed.
A coworker had heard what happened and came to pick you up, reassuring you that your car could be picked up the next morning. Before you climbed into her car, you looked around for Adam who seemed to have left already. Frowning, you put on his jacket properly before ducking in.
A shadow stood at the back of the bar, watching the car leave. The shadow remained where they were, watching the two federal agents until they left in their ‘67 Chevy Impala. They needed to report to the Alpha.

Guzmán x Reader
Request by anon: Hi! Can I request a Guzmàn x reader where readers been pursuing Guzman for quite some time (years or months is okay) and Guzmàn is either clueless or just scared, depends on you. So reader becomes tired of it and just kinda gives up and some time later a guy starts noticing her and stuff haha basically "jealous Guzmàn".

Flirting was never something that anyone could be excessively good at in your opinion. You either flirted a lot but never dated anybody. Or you flirted minimally because you were in a relationship. Or maybe you were just trying to make yourself feel better since you’d never been a good flirter in any way. You’d realised that after almost a year of trying to flirt with Guzmán and never getting anywhere. Maybe he just didn’t see you in that way. That’s what you’d assumed recently.
“Morning guys,” You smile as you walk into the classroom where Carla, Lu, Ander, Polo and Guzmán all sat.
“Good morning, you’re looking cute today honey,” Lu comments as you take your seat beside Guzmán, “Any reason why?”
All of the others knew your intentions of flirting with Guzmán but they’d never said anything to him - thankfully.
“Of course not,” You roll your eyes, adjusting your top to make the discomfort alleviate slightly.
“Doesn’t she look nice Guzmán?” Carla cocks a brow as Polo holds an arm around her.
Guzmán frowns a little and glances at you, “She always looks nice.”
You watch as Ander fights back a smile and looks down at his hands.
“Can we talk about something else?” You question, “Arent the new kids starting today?”
“Oh fucking brilliant,” Guzmán groans, flopping back in his chair.
“Come on, they can’t be that bad,” Lu rolls her eyes, “No worse than the last scholarship kids.”
Ander scoffs and goes to respond as three new kids all file through the door. One boy walked last in line and he instantly seemed the most interesting. The first boy was evidently loud, extroverted, bold. The girl likely to try her best to get top of the class at any opportunity. But you couldn’t quite figure out the boy at the back of the line. He was handsome, but it was like he didn’t really know it.
Carla looks at you with a smirk, “Not so bad.”

“Are you coming to the pool (Y/n)?” Guzmán asks as the lesson finishes and you all pack away your things.
“Yeah, of course,” You nod as he waits for you and the two of you start walking towards your lockers.
Near enough every day of the week, you went with Guzmán to the pool whilst he was swim training. He’d once told you that he got really bored when he was there on his own and so you’d offered to go with him. Now, you found yourself there all the time with him just as a continued offer. Sometimes you swam with him and other times you sat poolside.
“So, thoughts on the new people?” You ask him as he grabs his gym bag and you get yours.
He laughs, “You’re asking the wrong person.”
“They don’t seem that bad,” You defend, “I know you’re just waiting for them to be like Pablo, but not all of the scholarship students are the same.”
He looks at you with a smirk, “You know me too well. But can we please talk about anything other than the new kids?”
“Okayyyyy...” You pause, “What do you want to talk about?”
He laughs and starts chatting away and asking for your advice on what to wear to the party tomorrow night. He gave you his options and asked if he could FaceTime you later so you could see them properly. And you try to stop yourself from thinking too much into it. He genuinely just saw you as a friend.

“(Y/n) not here this morning?” Guzmán frowns, “She didn’t say she wasn’t coming in.”
“No, she’s speaking to that new boy Samuel,” Lu nods her head over to where you were speaking to him.
“Something going on with them?” Guzmán asks as he sits down in his chair and hangs his arm over the back of your chair like he normally would if you were there.
“They’re just talking, Guzmán,” Ander laughs, “He seems okay.”
Guzmán glances over and watches the conversation unfold. He wasn’t sure why he felt a little protective. Maybe it was just a friendly thing. But he can’t seem to take his eyes off of you as you laugh at something the boys said, say your goodbyes and turn back to come and sit with the group.
“What was that about?” Guzmán asks as you sit down beside him.
“He’s just asked me to help him out with a few bits from maths because we’re in the same class,” You shrug, “I said I’d help him out next period.”
“What about swimming?”
“Oh, sorry, I didn’t think you’d mind... it’s only for today,” You assure him, “I can cancel if you want me to.”
“No, no, that’s fine,” Guzmán shakes his head, “I can’t really complain if you’re helping someone out.”
He laughs it off but he’s not sure why it annoys him. Why did he feel any different about you not wanting to sit by a pool with him?
And why did he keep looking at Samuel?
- - - - - -
“We need a good night tonight, right?” Carla shakes her head as Polo comes up and slides an arm around her, “I’m already fed up of this school year!”
You laugh and thank the bartender as he hands you the bottle of champagne. Everyone was here tonight from your regular group and it was always a good chance for you all to celebrate nothing in particular.
“Here you go Guzmán,” You smile as you hand him his whiskey on the rocks.
He grins and thanks you as he takes the glass, “Well, cheers everybody!”
“Ooh, wait, there’s one person missing!” You comment quickly, hurrying over as you see Samuel just walking through the door.
You’d invited him after it had been made very apparent that he didn’t have many friends around school. It wasn’t much more than that, you were just trying to be nice really.
“She invited the new kid?” Guzmán mutters to Lu who simply shrugs her shoulders.
“Didn’t she tell you?” Lu frowns, “She mentioned it to me earlier.”
Guzmán watches as the boy walks over with you, looking awfully uncomfortable in the new scene.
“Can I get you a drink Samuel?” Polo suggests.
“I don’t think they sell cheap beer here,” Guzmán mutters, loud enough for you all to hear, as he takes a swig of his drink.
“Here, I’ll get you a drink Samu, lets go to the bar,” You encourage, trying to make him feel as welcome as possible as you guide him over to the bar.
You don’t really know what to say about Guzmán. Maybe he’d just acted so coldly because he felt cautious of the new kids. But there was something about the way he’d looked at you as you walked over that made you think it was something other than that. There was something about how his knuckles were turning white against his glass that made you realise there was something more going on than simply just an annoyance about Samuel being new. No, you couldn’t start thinking like that. You’d spent months analysing things like that and it had never resorted to anything. Nothing would change now.
- - - - - -
“Oh shut up it’s not that deep,” You roll your eyes as you turn around in your chair to respond to something that Ander had said.
“You seem to be spending an awful lot of time with him for my liking,” Ander jokes, “I’m just saying.”
“He’s new! He doesn’t know many people, and we just happen to have classes together!” You defend.
“Then why are you getting so defensive about it?”
“Because I think you and I both know nothing would happen between me and anyone else whilst I still-“ You cut yourself off as Guzmán walks into the room.
“Whilst you still what, (Y/n)?” Ander winds you up, “Continue, please.”
“Good morning Guzmán,” You smile as he sits down.
“Morning, here’s your homework back. Thanks for letting me copy,” He comments as he hands you back the slightly crumpled page.
“Oh yeah, that’s okay. Samuel basically did half of it for me anyway,” You laugh a little, smiling to him politely as Samuel walks in.
“Samuel?” Guzmán cocks a brow, “I had no idea you two were so close.”
“What?” You scoff, “What gave you that idea?”
Guzmán eyes you for a few seconds, “Nothing, it’s fine. Do you fancy a FaceTime tonight to go through the stuff for the test tomorrow?”
“Umm, yeah,” You tuck your hair behind your ear, “Can I let you know about that one?”
He pauses like he’s shocked you’d even questioned his offer, “Okay...”
“Okay,” You smile.
- - - - - -
You‘ve just left first period when Samuel catches up with you outside. He’s nervous as he speaks and you can instantly tell what’s about to be said. It breaks your heart a little to have to outwardly reject someone.
“What are you talking about?” Lu snaps into Guzman’s sentence, “You think (Y/n) likes Samuel?”
“Are you kidding me? They’re spending every day together!” Guzmán defends, glancing around the group like he’s waiting for any of them that will agree with him.
“Guzmán, you’re an idiot!” Ander rolls his eyes, “Are you seriously that blind to it?”
“Blind to what?! He’s obviously got some sort of intention with her and it’s weird-“
“Okay, honey, I don’t think you’re an idiot, but you need to wake up and smell the coffee when it’s right under your nose,” Carla joins in, “You seriously think she likes him?”
“I don’t see how you guys don’t see it...”
“Guzmán she likes you,” Ander hits him on the arm, “And she’s spent so long trying to get you to see that, she’s just fed up by now!”
“What are you talking about?” Guzmán scoffs, “(Y/n) doesn’t like me, she just sees me as a good friend.”
“Spending every day with you at the pool, calling you basically every other night, always blushing when you compliment her, listening to and remembering everything you tell her...” Polo trails off, “Do you want me to continue?”
“And you all knew this?” Guzmán glances around at the waiting group.
“Yes!” They all chant in unison.
The boy of focus practically stumbles back a little at the revelation as his eyes turn toward you and watch as you evidently decline whatever Samuel had suggested to you. You turn and see him looking over, to which you offer him a bright smile and make your way towards the group.
“Holy shit,” Guzmán mutters under his breath as you approach.
He’d liked you this whole time and only now just found out that you liked him too?! What an idiot!
“Ready to go to the pool?” You offer, smiling to the rest of the group, to see them all staring back at you, “What? Why’s everyone looking at me?”

Infamous
This story is dedicated to Oiwa. Thank you for allowing me to share your story, may you one day find peace.
Previous/Next
Pairing: Kayako Saeki x WOC Reader
Warnings!!!: None for this chapter.
Thank you to @mlmdarkfiction and @doodleferp as always for you encouragement and your willingness to let me ramble. I appreciate you guys so much.
The detectives in front of you looked as nervous as you felt. You exuded what you hoped was a calm, if very bewildered demeanor. You bounced your fussy daughter in your arms, wondering why the hell they could be there.
That was a lie, you weren’t wondering, you had a very good idea as to why they were there. Yesterday, you finished moving into the Infamous Saeki house. Your husband, in an uncharacteristic show of violence, tried to choke you to death. You didn’t know if it was because of the curse, of the house itself, or if it had just been him finally snapping. You wanted to blame it on the house, you really did, but from everything you read, the curse took it’s time manifesting. Something deep within you told you that had all been Haru, no matter how much you didn’t want to admit it.
Before he could manage to kill you, Kayako had come to your rescue. She had done...something with Haru. You weren’t sure, you didn’t want to think about what horrors he had faced. Besides, you’d been too focused on your daughter. You wanted Kayako to spare your daughter, but apparently she’d spared both of you...for now.
You had passed out from fear, thinking Kayako was going to kill you next, but that morning you’d woken in your western styled bed, comfortably tucked into the blankets, as though nothing had happened. Your daughter had been sleeping peacefully in her crib, which was why, for a long, long moment, you thought everything had been a dream.
You gathered Sakura in your arms, the little child not stirring from her own peaceful slumber. “Haru?” You whisper, terrified of the reaction. Your throat was killing you. Maybe you were getting sick and what you dreamt had nothing more to do with a cursed house than a really high fever. “Haru?” You called, a little louder this time, emboldened by thoughts of sickness rather than haunting.
You made your way down the stairs. The smell of cooked rice and miso soup hits you. He was in the kitchen, cooking breakfast. When you first started dating Haru, he cooked for you all the time. You smiled at the memory and rushed the rest of the way downstairs, wanting to give him a kiss good morning. You stopped in your tracks when you saw who it really was.
Kayako was standing to the right side of the head of the table, Toshio was sitting in the left chair. Both were looking at you expectantly. At the head of the table you could just make out a traditional Japanese breakfast. Rise, Miso soup, and a side of vegetables and tofu. You gulped, even though it pained you to do so. So this was how you were going to die, Kayako was going to poison you. Was that how ghosts killed people though? Poison? The thought was brief. Kayako gave off her signature rattle and pointed to the chair. You thought it was best not to upset her, so you shuffled your way over and sat down.
You somehow managed to eat everything. Mostly out of fear. So far, no ill effects had befallen you.
After breakfast, you fed Sakura from her bottle, not trusting Kayako to have not poisoned your food. After breakfast was done, Kayako surprised you by doing the dishes. You sat on the couch, wondering what you were going to do. Your husband was dead, now you had no source of steady income. Not to mention, you didn’t exactly know how to explain his death to his parents. “Hey, yeah, you know that haunted house we moved into, well for once it’s actually haunted and the long dead ghost of Kayako killed him while he was choking me out.” That would land you in the looney bin for sure. Or jail, you were sure no one would believe your story.
You spent most of your day fretting over this problem. Your mother-in-law, who already hates you for being the non-white American that took her husband away, would pin his murder on you in a heartbeat. She would take your daughter.
While you were spiraling closer and closer to pits of despair, the police had been on the prowl, and now, two detectives were in your house, apparently with some ‘news’. They know, you think, trying to maintain your composure, somehow they already know Haru is dead and they’re going to pin it on me. You watch as a team begins to search your house for evidence. What bones would they find in the attic, you wonder?
“Mrs. Kubo,” The first detective says, he had introduced himself earlier as Tanaka, his partner, who held a notebook, was Fujiwara. “How long has your husband been missing?” You gulp, think of something fast, “Since last afternoon,” You reply, wondering what game they’re trying to play. “He said he was going to drink with some old friends. I thought maybe he stayed out too late and stayed over at their house, or a hotel, I...I don’t know how late bars are open until in Japan.” It was a half truth obviously. You really didn’t know how late bars are open in Japan.
The detectives share a look, then Tanaka looks at you, looking graver than when he first walked in. “Have you been outside at all today?” You shake your head, trying to be as honest as possible. “I haven’t been feeling well.” You tell them, the hoarseness in your voice attested to that. The detective managed to look graver still. “Mrs. Kubo, I don’t know how to tell you this but,” In the pause you steel yourself for the news, you’re under arrest for the disappearance of your husband, we’re taking your baby, you’ll never see her again, in fact, you’ll never see daylight again. “Your husband was murdered yesterday,”
This time, the detectives got your honest reaction, shock. “What? How?”
“He was beaten to death by someone with tremendous strength.” Tanaka informs you. “Did he have any enemies? Anyone who seemed to hate him?”
“Or possibly an over zealous fan?” Fujiwara chimed in. You shake your head, “I can’t think of anyone,” You say, “He never really talked to me about his work, or his fans.” The detectives looked at each other once more. “Do you mind if we have a look around the property?” Tanaka asked, “Not at all,” You say, shrugging. You couldn’t tell them no, that would look suspicious on your part. Besides, the rest of their team was already looking, rifling through papers and drawers. There’s nothing there, you think, you hope, please let nothing be there.
You watch as the detectives leave you on the couch to begin the investigation. Following them with your eyes you wonder what the hell you’re going to do. What if they find evidence you did it? What if they pin it on you anyway. What the hell were you supposed to do now? You sigh and slump into the couch. There was nothing you could do, really, except aid them as much as you can in their search for the truth. You really had nothing to hide, you weren’t the one that killed him, Kayako was.
A mass of black moves out of the corner of your eye. You see Kayako watching everyone in the reflection of a window. She’s the one that did it! You want to scream, she’s the one that killed my husband! Take her, arrest her. You sigh again. Yes, arrest a ghost no one believed exists. What the fuck were you gonna do?
The police leave no stone unturned. They’re stiff, jittery. An air of dread hangs around the house, even more so than usual. Everyone sends meaningful looks at one another, jumping at the slightest of sounds. If you didn’t know this house was really haunted, you’d laugh at them and their silly superstitions. Instead, you remain on the couch, unsure of what to do, not wanting to get in anyone’s way. You keep Sakura entertained with funny faces and toys. Whenever someone came into the living room, they would smile at her, and she would giggle. Other than that, you talked to no one.
The detectives eventually make their way back to you, looking as perplexed as you felt. You stand to greet them. “Everything looks to be in order.” Tanaka tells you. “No suspicious activity around the house.” You give him a little bow. “Do you really think it was over zealous fans?” You ask, more curious if their theory involves you more than actual curiosity. Tanaka heaves a great sigh. “It’s certainly a possibility,” He says, “It could’ve been many things, Mrs. Kubo. Many people. He had a great deal of admirers, and enemies.”
“Enemies?” You gasp, brow furrowing. “What do you mean by that?” Tanaka looks at you intently. “Aren’t you aware of his rivalry with Professor Yuki Nakamura?” You bit your lip, ashamed. “No, sir. Like I said, my husband didn’t really talk about his work.”
“I find that hard to believe,” Tanaka said. “You traveled with him, and he always dedicated his books to you.” You nod, “Yes, I did,” you admit, “But I only ever read his material to edit it. Other than that, we never talked about work. It was his rule, you see. He didn’t want his work life bleeding too much into his personal life. I’m sorry Detective Tanaka, I have no idea this Professor Yuki Nakamura is.” He nods, seemingly satisfied with your answer.
He reaches into his coat pocket and pulls out a business card. “This is my contact number,” He tells you. You take it with a shaky hand. “If you can think of anything, or anyone. Please, call me.”
“Yes sir,” You say, “Immediately.” They bow, you bow, and everyone begins filing out of your home. You thank every one of them for helping with the investigation. Finally, when the door is close, and you’re all alone, you let out a great sigh. Things seemed to be ok...for now.
You turn, wanting little more than to take a nap. But the shock of Kayako standing right in front of you startles you so badly you nearly drop your daughter. You two stare at each other. You, not really knowing what to do, or to say, her just...staring, you guessed. It occurs to you moments later as to what she’s probably expecting. “Th-thank you,” You tell her, inching around her. “Thank you for helping me,” The moment you’re clear, you dash for the stairs, Kayako watching you the entire time.
*
“She did it,” Fujiwara exclaims. He looks sheepish at the sight of Tanaka’s glare. “Well, she had someone else do it,” he amends. “There’s no way a small thing like that could cause so much bodily damage. So she hired someone to do it. A jealous lover maybe.” Tanaka huffs. “What makes you so sure?”
“She didn’t cry.” Fujiwara continued, “She just sat there, playing with her baby.”
“She was in shock,” Tanaka tells him, his tone harsh. “Not every woman falls to their knees and weeps at the news of their husbands’ deaths.”
“But you have to admit, something is strange.”
“Is there?”
“Isn’t there?” They sat in silence for a while. “Did you see her neck?” Fujiwara said. “I did.”
“It looked like someone tried to strangle her.” Tanaka nodded. “Do you think Haru Kubo was abusing her?”
“Could be,” Tanaka turned onto the main road and sped towards the station. “That doesn’t mean she did it. Or hired someone to do it. They could have violent sex” Fujiwara’s face scrunches up. He hadn’t been on the force long enough to see anything like that yet, Tanaka had to forgive him for his squeamishness.
“But it is motive.” Fujiwara continues. “Do you think maybe Yuki was in on it? They somehow got in contact with each other?” Tanaka shrugs. Fujiwara had a point, a good one at that. It was possible that Yuko Nakamura and Mrs. Kubo could conspire together. But Yuki was away on vacation in upper Hokkaido, and there was no evidence the two women had met besides. However, Tanaka knew better. “What if it’s the house?” He suggests feeling Fujiwara out.
The younger man scoffs. “You can’t believe in that old superstition,” He says. “It’s just a house.” Tanaka nods, once more, “Yeah,” He mutters, “Just a house.” Just a house, his left ass cheek. Tanaka knew better. That house had killed off three of his best friends, countless of dumb kids and teenagers, and everyone else who had owned it. There was nothing that house didn’t swallow up in it’s rage, and now a helpless baby and her mother lived in it. Tanaka gritted his teeth. How long did they have before they too were lost to Kayako’s never ending darkness? How long did he have to save them?

Nice Try
TimKon, Core Four, Humour, Matchmaker, Friendship, Shenanigans.
Summary: Noticing the tension between Tim and Kon, Bart and Cassie take matters into their own hands and attempt to set the two boys up with a variety of methods.
Enjoy! :D
“Tim, stop what you are doing because we have a more important task that requires your attention!”
Letting out a sigh, Tim rolls his head to the side and gives Bart an unamused look. There goes his quiet evening that he planned. He watches as the speedster vibrates in his spot standing opposite him, he had just burst into the room and gave Tim that announcement.
“What is it Bart?”
Bart thrusts a bottle out and in his face, “We’re playing spin the bottle dude, y’know like in the good old days. You, me, Cassie and Kon.”
Tim blinks and debates on whether he should try to get out of it or not, but before he could decide the door to the media room opens up again and this time Cassie, who is dragging Kon behind her, walks in with a bag full of snacks and drinks.
“Suck it up boy wonder because this is happening whether you want it to or not.”
Next to her Kon looks resigned, they make eye contact sand Kon shrugs, “Don’t ask me man. It wasn’t my idea.”
He looks back at Bart to see him pulling the puppy dog eyes, not that he needed to because Tim resigned to the idea when Cassie and Kon appeared.
“Fine.”
“Woo-hoo!” Bart cheers and zooms away, appearing seconds later on the floor with the snacks Cassie had laid out, cushions on the floor and a blanket surrounding the area. “Now let’s play!”
Tim stands up from his seat on the couch, sets his laptop to the side and moves to join Bart on the floor just as the other two do. he makes a move to sit down next to Kon, which was by now just instinct to do so, however Cassie seemed to have different ideas because she quickly steals the cushion he was about to sit on and forces him onto the cushion opposite Kon instead.
He shoots her a questioning look which gets ignored, shares an odd look with Kon, but settles down on the last cushion without any fuss.
“Guys it’s been nearly half an hour, can we please play something else.” Kon whines when it’s his go again. The half Kryptonian hides his face in his hands before falling backwards dramatically.
Tim certainly notices how his t-shirt rides up his stomach showing a little bit of skin there.
“No until everyone has kissed everyone!” Cassie declares crossing her arms over her chest.
Kon sits back up and gives her an exasperated look, “But it’s only Tim and I who haven’t kissed yet, does it really matter?”
“Yes!” Both Cassie and Bart snap at him simultaneously. Kon shoots Tim a wide eyed look who merely shrugs back, he doesn’t know what’s up with them. “Let’s forget this and just stick a movie on or something, we still have tonnes of snacks and it’s quiet, let’s spend our time together better than this yeah?”
His argument seems to win against the two of them because Cassie instantly looks resigned while Bart exaggerates a sigh and flops down onto his back, “ugh, finnnnneeee….” he stays like that for a second before shooting back up, “We need more pizza!” then like that he’s gone again.
Cassie stands up from her spot and shoots the two of them a glare like they had personally offended her somehow. “I’m going to go to the bathroom, don’t start the film without me.”
Once she disappears from the room, Tim turns to Kon and gives him a confused look, “Any ideas what that was all about?”
Kon mirrors his expression, “Not a clue man,” he then grins, “it’s a funny coincidence how we didn’t have to kiss each other though, right?”
Tim huffs a laugh, “Yeah just a bit, what are the odds huh?”
“It’s alright though, we’ll make up for the loss later on.” Kon smirks and winks at him. Tim gives him a deadpan look but couldn’t fight the blush that paints his cheeks at the flirt. He really ought to be used it by now considering it’s Kon, but somehow it still gets to him.
“Shut up,” Tim says, after a moment he adds, “They’re up to something aren’t they?”
“Yup, no idea what though.” Kon agrees immediately. “Guess we’ll find out soon enough. You know Bart, he can barely keep a secret.”
“Very true.”
Apparently whatever secret they were hiding Bart manages to keep it locked up. It’s been over a week and Tim still doesn’t know what his friends were up to and after talking to Kon, he doesn’t know either. It’s starting to irritate him that he doesn’t know what’s going on, he likes to know everything and not knowing this was beginning to bug him.
However as Bart leads him down one of the corridors in the Tower Tim didn’t think much of it, his mind was busily trying to work out the current problem at hand.
“What did you say was wrong with it again?”
“It just wouldn’t start up, I think there’s a technical issue with it because the screen would come on and it would do this weird thingamajig and fuzz out. I need someone with brilliant computer skills to try and work out what’s wrong with it. That being you my current bird friend!”
Tim opens his mouth to protest at the idea because surely Bart could handle something like this on his own, he’s dragged Tim away from his documents that need to be filed in two days for this but asks something else instead.
“Why’s it down here and not in your room?” He questions, they were now in the less used section of the Tower.
Bart shrugs, “Because it’s out the way and basically in storage until I found it and now I’m kinda curious. Hey, here we are!”
They stop outside a closed door. Tim fully expected Bart to lead the way in so when the speedster doesn’t move Tim raises an eyebrow. They stand there for a few beats, neither of them moving until Tim gets fed up with it and crosses his arms over his chest. “Well?”
Bart blinks at him before smiling, it was his Cheshire Cat smile which instantly put Tim on alert. “Sorry about this Timmy.”
Before he could even question what Bart means, his head was being smacked against the door. Pain erupts from his forehead and he clutches his head hissing at the sting. Next thing he knows is that he’s being pushed to the side, since he was still getting over the pain in his head he loses his footing and tumbles to the ground. What he does make out afterwards was a slamming sound and a distinctive locking noise.
“Tim?”
Tim looks up from the ground and squints, he finds Kon rushing over to him who starts helping him back up to his feet. “Kon? What you doing here?”
“I could ask you the same question. You okay?”
Grabbing hold of Kon’s arm for balance Tim rubs his forehead, “Yeah but I’ll be much better once I find Bart and beat his ass into next Tuesday.”
Once he feels like he could stand on his own and with the pain mostly gone from his head he looks around the room to find it completely empty except one bed tucked in the corner of the room. Tim didn’t even know this room existed and there was certainly no sign of a computer in here.
“What the hell? What’s the meaning of this?”
“I have no idea dude, all I know is that about 10 minutes ago Cassie lead me down here asking for my help to move something but then she locked me in here. I went to force my way out but then she stated how the lock has kryptonite embedded in it and that if I want to take the chance then I can do so. I really rather not take that chance thanks and then you appeared with Bart.”
Tim frowns and looks suspiciously at the door. “What is it with the two of them recently? Why are they teaming up against us?”
Kon lets out a heavy sigh, “I don’t know! First spin the bottle and now locking us in a room together? Weird behaviour, especially for them.”
Tim walks over to the lock and tries to open the door but of course it doesn’t move. He huffs in annoyance especially when he realises that he doesn’t have any of his equipment on him to even try and pick the lock. He glances over at Kon to find the meta now sat down on the bed and was watching him.
Kon meets his gaze and smirks, “Well you know, there is a bed after all and we haven’t had any alone time in a while…” The way he waggles his eyebrows makes Tim want to punch him.
He glares at Kon, “Get your mind out the gutter. We’re in a locked room because of our friends, what’s the chances they’re monitoring us right now.”
Kon’s smirk drops at that thought and Tim snickers. He does however move to the bed and take a seat beside him, “We’ll just have to wait them out.”
Out waiting their friends takes over four hours. Tim and Kon had done nothing more than sit on the bed and talk, Kon may have thrown an arm over Tim in a hug but apart from that it was nothing exciting. Nothing he suspects Cassie and Bart were waiting to happen.
Eventually they hear the door unlocking but nothing more happens. Curiously, Tim gets up from the bed and goes over to investigate. He’s pleased to find that the door had in fact been unlocked and how him and Kon were finally free.
Unfortunately neither Cassie nor Bart were in sight so they couldn’t interrogate them to find out what that had been all about. He and Kon leave the room together and decide to confront their friends at a later date for their weirdness.
“I don’t understand why it has to be us two.” Kon comments frowning down at the menu in his hands.
Tim arches an eyebrow and takes a sip of his drink. “What’s that supposed to mean?” He doesn’t look at Kon however, his focus was one the two people tucked away in the corner of the restaurant.
Kon sighs, “Like surely we’ll attract more attention to ourselves, y’know two guys having dinner together, it isn’t always accepted and people gossip. We would be less obvious if one of us was with Cassie instead.”
Tim finally glances at Kon, he gets what Kon is saying of course, but there are still arguments against his points.
The two of them had been forced elected to go into the restaurant where their targets are currently having a business meeting over dinner to do some close recon. The other two were waiting outside to make the next move once the go ahead has been given.
Cassie and Bart immediately assigned Tim and Kon with the task of being in the restaurant without either of them getting a say in otherwise. As they had been getting ready the two of them kept dropping hints about how good the other looked.
“Hey Tim, don’t you think Kon’s shirt matches his eyes?”
“What do you think of Tim’s pants Kon? They shape his figure really well huh?”
“I couldn’t imagine how many people would be drooling for him if a reporter was to capture an image of him.”
“Just look at that blazer on him! Doesn’t that really do something for body, wow.”
Tim admits it, that Kon did look fantastic in his dark blue dress shirt and black pants. He even told said that in front of them and all they did was giggle and beam, like delighted little children. Kon had also made a comment about his appearance and they suddenly looked like they were going to pop.
“So you complaining about having dinner with me then? You rather be here with Cassie?” Tim teases with a smile.
Kon blushes and looks away, “No dude that’s not – I didn’t mean it like that! You know what I mean.”
“Kon relax, of course I do but we’re here for a mission and not actually on a date. I think this is part of their ever going secret that they’ve got between them.”
“Most likely. I wonder when it’ll end because this is seriously getting annoying now. It’s what the third week of them acting weird and teaming up against us? Not that I completely mind because I love spending time with you but it’s just forced.”
Tim makes a humming sound, his focus once again on the targets as the waiter arrives with their food. After a moment he walks away and they continue as before.
He turns back to Kon, “Once this mission is over we’ll have a proper chat with them and actually get down to the bottom of their behaviour.”
Kon blinks at him for a moment before nodding, “Yeah okay. We may as well enjoy this why we can huh?” He smiles at Tim, one of his boyish, innocent smiles that gets to him every time he sees it.
“Yeah…” Tim mumbles out eventually unable to look away from Kon.
It turns out that they never got the chance to talk to Cassie or Bart about their behaviour as everything accidently comes out into the open when they walk in on Tim and Kon making out on the couch in the media room.
Tim really didn’t mean for it to happen, he just got so lost in Kon that everything else around them faded into the background like it didn’t exist. He wasn’t a fan of PDA so having his friends walk in on them was just downright awful.
He and Kon had been watching a movie together, spending some nice time alone since it was only them in the tower at the time (or so they thought). About halfway through, a gentle cuddle turned into smoothing touches, which then turned into groping, which then transformed into making out and then that continued with Tim climbing onto Kon’s lap, running his hands all over the half Kryptonian’s hair and face as they heavily kissed and their hips grinding against one another’s.
That's when their friends walked in on them and Tim mentally thanks god that at least they still had clothes on. Everyone freezes as they stare at one another. Several long beats go by before Cassie is suddenly yelling.
“WHAT! After all this time you guys finally get together and didn’t tell us! When did this happen?”
Tim winces and glances at Bart who was vibrating on the spot until he wasn’t. His figure flickers and Tim just knew that he had done a million laps around the room before exclaiming. “Yes my dudes! It’s about time we have been trying to get you together for weeks and now it’s finally happened!”
He shoots Bart a bewildered look before looking at Kon. The meta shrugs at him, clearly having no idea what that meant. Tim finally gets off of Kon’s lap, subtly adjusts his pants, and sits back down on the couch looking at their friends.
“What do you mean Bart?” He asks.
“Well you know, we noticed the tension between the two of you, we knew how much you liked one another and we wanted you guys to finally get together. We tried different methods of getting you together but none of them worked so finding you like this is a surprise.”
That’s when it suddenly clicks. The entire time he and Cassie had been acting weird was because they were trying to get them together. “Spin the bottle, you wanted me and Kon to kiss to see if that would make us confess. Locking us in a room together with a bed, a typical cliché trope. Then the dinner which was kinda a date and hinting how good we looked to one another.”
Next to him Kon laughs, “Seriously, this entire time that’s what you were doing? Come on guys, really? You must have known, you didn’t need to try and get us together.”
“Known what?” Cassie demands crossing her arms angrily.
“Tim and I have been dating for about three months now. We got together that time after we fought those aliens things and got covered in that slime. We were in the showers and one thing lead to another and here we are. Surely you guys knew, we certainly told you.”
Cassie and Bart’s gaping faces made the last few weeks totally worth it, Tim takes his phone out and gets a picture, that’s blackmail for life.

TEETH?
Teeth?
By InfernoBot
I had just finished recording, and was carrying my dog in from the office, when my mom handed me an envelope. Once I had my sweet pupper nestled into a blanket, I joined her on the couch and slit open my mysterious delivery. Inside was no note, just a brochure to something called ‘Furnal Equinox’ and an accompanying plastic badge bearing the image of a anthropomorphic dog, (maybe it was a wolf), wearing a graduation cap and gown.
As my eyes scanned the glossy pages, my excitement grew; some lovely person had sent me a weekend pass to a furry convention! This was my big chance to make a video detailing my adventures through a mass gathering of one of the internet’s most maligned and misunderstood subcultures. Over the coming weeks, I studied the brochure, read up on the panelists online, noted every question about the furry fandom that popped into my head. My itinerary for the whole weekend was mapped out.
Super chats and KoFi tips managed to cover the cost of a bottom-barrel airline ticket, and I got a great deal on an Air B&B from a charming indiginous woman named Semide, whose sisters had enrolled in college and left their rooms vacant. She was even kind enough to include meals as part of the deal. The weekend of the con finally rolled around; I threw my things in a bag and I was off to Toronto.
Eighteen hours and three layovers later, I was sitting at my host’s kitchen table with a warm towel draped over the back of my neck, sipping a cup of coffee. It turned out Semide was a naturopathic healer and knew some kickin’ remedies for aches, pains and jet lag. I don’t put much stock in essential oils, but damn if I didn’t wake up feeling fresh and ready to face the day the next morning. The convention was being held on the waterfront about nine blocks from Semide’s place, not too bad for a walk, and I reckoned I could make the trek each day.
I left late in the morning, well after the con had opened. No sense waiting in line, I figured. It was three blocks from the Westin Harbor Castle, when I saw the first fursuit.
There was no explaining the rush of exhilaration I felt. This was real. This was happening. I was gradually being surrounded by dozens of people decked out in bright, elaborate costumes. Some that couldn’t afford full suits wore just heads and gloves, giving a ghoulish Frankenstein’s monster appearance to their character. Or the wolf-man caught mid transformation after being bitten by a neon fox in a rainbow pride shirt. The less daring, or particularly destitute, settled for headbands with animal ears and strap-on tails.
Waiting to cross the last street, I was elbow to elbow with a giant Sonic the Hedgehog and a seven-foot tall purple giraffe sporting a quadruple-XL adult diaper. Something told me before the weekend was over, that particular garment would get filled. Before I could contemplate the logistics further, the light changed and the extremely polite, if curiously dressed herd moved into the street and we sorted into a semblance of a line being steadily processed through the doors into the main convention hall. I was in.
The lead-up to the main event hadn’t prepared me for what lay inside. A teenage girl in a ‘volunteer’ shirt thrust an opaque plastic bag into my hands before Big The Cat shoved me aside and began professing his undying love for her beauty. I stumbled into the row of booths on the main floor, further progress blocked by an electric green armadillo strumming an acoustic guitar with a stuffed fish tucked in the strings.
This was it, I weaved my way between con-goers and took it all in. Clip-on LED cat ears. A custom-fit fang booth. Stacks of comics focused on humanoid animals. Racks upon racks of faux-leather collars and leashes. The waifu pillows. I pulled my phone from my pocket and approached the nearest open booth.
Time for an interview, I thought.
Eight hours, two energy drinks and a box of granola bars later, I was dead on my feet. There was no way of knowing how many people I’d talked to as the day progressed. Or just how strange my conversations had become. I think I spoke at length with Cool Cat about the merits of various vape pens, despite the fact I don’t smoke. But it hadn’t all been nonsense.
Before I had degenerated into a gibbering wreck, I had chanced to be standing beside a fountain near the food court and heard a familiar warbling voice behind me. To my great delight, when I turned around I found a young woman with jet black hair, a hawaiian shirt and a black & yellow long-Furby draped over her shoulders; I instantly recognized her as Teya from Strange Aeons. After she’d finished speaking to her friend, I politely tapped her on the arm and introduced myself. She turned out to be super cool, excited to meet another youtube creator, and talked to me for about ten minutes as her girlfriend went off to wait in line for the bathroom.
While most of our conversation centered around videos and our special boy Greg, my eyes kept getting drawn back to Thursday Plurbonym Boyporridge. His black and yellow checkered belly, his luxurious black fur, those piercing green eyes; it was all so captivating. I couldn’t quit looking at the charm necklace below his little yellow beak spelling out his name; Thursday. Eventually, I complimented her on her videos and her handsome long-son one last time and we parted ways. It had been a pleasant break, but even here, the persistent strains of Insane Clown Posse that permeated the space were grating on my nerves.
When the time had come for all the furry folk to close up shop and head home, I staggered out into the street with all the lingering con-goers. Despite the initial culture shock, most of the people I’d met had been great. I could stand here, elbow to elbow with ponies, foxskies, giant pomeranians and adorable cat girl maids on the steps of Westin Harbor Castle, and just enjoy the last moments of the sun setting over Toronto. That is until the moment was shattered by an obnoxious voice that sounded more like it belonged outside a Patriots game accompanied by the echo of shattering beer bottles.
“Now that the party’s over, we can get down to the afterparty at my place; which of you bitches wants to come home with me?”
My head swiveled like a tank turret toward the source of the voice, my face bearing the expression which must have read did this motherfucker just?
A man-child wearing a My Little Pony t-shirt that had been stretched over his prodigious girth, a pair of denim jorts hanging past his knees and sweat-stained socks encased in mandles, slid his oily bulk up behind a group of teenage girls dressed as some kind of anime cat maids. He leaned his acne-studded face in close to them and said, “Since you’re dressed as maids, how about I take you home and make you change my cumm-y bedsheets after a night of passionate love-making.”
The overly-polite locals may have been in shock, but I knew a neckbeard when I saw one and knew immediately what to do.
“How ‘bout you back the fuck off bro, they’re kids.”
Maybe he wasn’t expecting resistance, but he seemed genuinely taken aback by someone speaking up. Once he got a look at me, he re-adjusted his fedora and stared me down. I admit, I might not look terribly intimidating; bulky, but not muscular, with my hair dyed bright teal and swept to one side. At least I had on a Pink Floyd t-shirt, that felt a little like a layer of protection against his fed-aura. He drew in a snot-choked breath and continued,
“They’re dressed as the maids from Painappuru No Oshiri, they’re harem girls that’re totally thirsty for the main character. Each maid is eager to bend over and present their ripe ruby star-fruit to their master. They’re, like, practically advertising how much they want it in the ass.”
“Why don’t you leave them alone, fuckmuppet?” I retorted. “You look like you're forty and they’re a bunch of teen girls.”
He was not pleased with my argument. The group of cat-maidens had shaken off their surprise and closed ranks. But they weren’t ready when he lunged forward and grabbed at the petticoat of the red cat-maid on the outside, lifting her skirts up to expose the shorts underneath.
“It’s not even a chick, it’s a dude. Chill out.”
A glance at the cosplayer’s face revealed a mask of burning red embarrassment, fear and confusion. Their friends were moving to grab at the neckbeard’s hand, but I was quicker. I swatted his arm like I was chopping down the internet itself and pushed right up in his face. Practically nose-to-nose, I couldn’t avoid the stench of fermented funyuns rolling off his breath.
“Keep. Your. Fucking. Hands. Off of them.”
His chins quivered slightly.
“Oh, you wanna start something, Rainbow Brite? I bet you like it in the ass, prancy-boy.”
“For a supposedly straight guy, you sure are obsessed with getting your dick in a guy’s butt.”
The flab of his cheeks reddened to match his acne.
“You’re gonna regret that. I’m a man with a very particular set of skills…”
I cut him off; I didn’t have the patience for a real-life copy pasta.
“Is one of your skills getting punched by me? Cause if you keep talking, you’re going to be teaching a master class.”
I could feel that neckbeardy-bravado wavering. Perhaps he could sense the crowd around us had turned against him, moving to shield the cat-maids and staring daggers into his lumpy flesh. With one last snotty huff, he turned and stormed away; the sound of his mandles slapping on the concrete echoed off the face of the convention center.
A group of several of the more adulty-er people had ringed the victims and were doing their best to calm them down. I shuffled over and started to apologize for the beardo’s behavior, when the red cat-maid began thanking me profusely and asked for a hug. Apparently, this was not the first time their group had been approached at the convention. We stood around chatting for a while, and they promised to check Evangelion when they got home. Once the cat-maids were safely in their Lyft, I waved them goodbye and turned to make my journey home for the night.
I started back up the street I'd taken this morning, but as I approached the doorway to a grimey building, I became aware of a fully-suited Yogi Bear propositioning a man dressed like Linda-Carter-era Wonder Woman. I was pretty wiped out and didn’t have it in me to process an altercation like this if they noticed me and instead took an abrupt right turn down an alley, intending to zig-zag back to my Air B&B.
I was nearly out the other side when my ears picked up the slapping of mandles on pavement rushing up behind me. A searing pain burst into existence in my lower back, like someone put a cigarette out on my spine.
I went down, hard.
The mylar swag bag I’d been swinging around all day splashed into a puddle off to one side. I was barely able to heave myself over onto my back to get a look at my attacker. It was him. The Neckbeard. He stood over me, grinning, his yellowed teeth visible in the night. The little black box in his hand flickered with a blue spark as he triggered the taser again.
“Heh heh. You like that, princess? I aimed a little high so I wouldn’t damage your sweet ass.”
“Fuck….you….” I gasped out through the pain. My muscles were cramping like someone had dug a burning fork into my lower back and twisted it up like a plate of spaghetti.
“Heh. You’re the one taking it in the ass, rainbow bitch.” He stepped over me, squatting like a linebacker, bringing the taser close to my face. “Maybe I’ll push this in your eyeball and see if I can make it boil.”
Out of the corner of my eye, I caught a glimpse of movement between his legs. Something thin and dark darted up from the shadows, toward his exposed back. He let out a cry of surprise, and shot upright, swinging his arms wildly behind him, grabbing at something. He hopped wildly from foot-to-foot across the alley, the tail hanging from the back of his pants swaying wildly with the movement. I thought it was weird I hadn’t noticed the tail before, especially with how long it was, practically sweeping the ground. The fuzzy black appendage was moving...wrong. It kept curling up and twisting out of his hands as he grasped at it, almost as if it were...alive.
“Oh Goddamnit!” He screamed. “What the fuck, dude?!”
He dropped the taser and got a grip on the tail with both hands, tugging on it. A ripping sound echoed through the alley as the seat of his pants tore out. The thing was, the tail wasn’t attached to his pants, it was going in through his pants, nestled between his prodigious posterior cheeks like one of those fetish plugs. As he violently jerked it side-to-side, it was ripping at the fabric of his trousers, the same went for his less-than-tidey whiteys.
“Get this fucking thing off of me!” He howled.
He grunted as the tail slipped his fingers and wriggled another foot inside him. Tears were welling up in his eyes and he collapsed back against a green dumpster. Like a man who had gambled on a street taco truck and lost, he bit his knuckle and gripped his abdomen through his stained t-shirt. It might have been a trick of the light, but I swear I could see his belly distend and squirm; the words ‘Friendship Is Magic’ bulging as something rolled under them.
His mandles dug into the alley grime as he feebly kicked his legs, and I could only watch in disgust as the rest of the fuzzy, black, thing slithered up inside him, forcibly dilating his leather cheerio. It was incredible. I could actually see its progress as it wormed its way through his body. He blubbered something about God and Jesus as his hand clawed frantically at his own belly, before his voice abruptly went silent.
There was a long, drawn-out wheezing sound, like one of those novelty rubber chickens, as the bulk of the thing moved up his throat. I don’t know how his flesh distended and deformed without bursting, but it reached his mouth and his jaw opened wide. First one small black, fuzzy ear lined with black and yellow plaid popped up, then another, followed by the crown of this thing’s head, pushing his teeth outward like flower petals blooming.
It rose before me, straight up from his mouth, its black and yellow belly slick, but not stained by his juices. His dislodged teeth clung to its matted fur like an obscene necklace. It swayed slightly in the moonlight, a pair of luminous green eyes fixed on mine, and its beak opened. With the rising inflection of someone asking a question, it uttered one word:
Teeth?

Tedious Turning of Pages and Toys
Bea is a somewhat successful lawyer, co-parent, and divorcee whose son befriends the new girl at school with a hot aunt. Crowley is the most doting parent in the world to make up for the fact that he's never been in a committed relationship with his daughter's other father.
Together, they carpool and provide healthy snacks at Sports Day with healthy doses of bitching in between.

Thursday
Bea woke up to silence, which hadn’t happened in over 6 years.
At first, they thought that maybe they had woken up in the middle of the night. They thought this with a little joy, knowing they could roll over and get maybe another three hours of sleep. Maybe four. They curbed their enthusiasm at five hours. They hadn’t had more than five hours of sleep in years.
But there was a nagging feeling underneath, chewing at their stomach. Maybe they had slept through their alarm, and they were hours late to work and Cain was hours late to school.
It was silly, they thought. They had an extra cup of coffee the day before. The caffeine was keeping them up.
But they opened their eyes. And saw light through a gap in their curtains.
“Shit.”
They grabbed their phone off their nightstand. Their alarm, annoyingly, was set to 6:00 pm.
“Shit.”
They had 20 minutes to get themselves and Cain dressed, fed, groomed, and out the door. It could be worse, they thought. 20 minutes was enough time to throw on clothes and shove a granola bar at Cain. They could eat at their office—their desk had an abundance of processed foods stored away inside it—and brush their hair in the car, then their teeth in the office bathroom.
And if there wasn’t time to detangle Cain’s hair or scrub his face free od crumbs, well, little boys were supposed to be messy. No one would look at a little boy with untidy hair and think, “That’s quite unusual.” Especially when dirt and bugs seemed attracted to them like a magnet. It was a rule of the universe. Little boys get to be messy without judgment.
“Cain, get up. We overslept.” Cain whined when Bea turned the lights on and threw his blankets off of him. “Come on. Get your uniform on.”
The six-year-old boy sat up with a scowl that rivaled his zaza’s. Bea was pleased that he had inherited that from them even if most of the time he was a walking ball of sunshine. They had no idea where that came from with a zaza like them and a father like Gabriel.
“Come on. Trousers. Shirt.”
Cain was a spitting image of Bea. He had their blue eyes and dark, unruly hair. Everyone had said that it was a shame he didn’t look more like Gabriel—specifically, that he didn’t get Gabriel’s purple eyes. Bea usually snapped in response, “They’re not purple actually. They’re just a really odd shade of gray. And Cain would probably get bullied if he had purple eyes, so it’s best they came out blue, isn’t it?”
Every night for the past four years, Bea rejoiced in the fact that Cain looked so little like Gabriel.
Once he was in his little school uniform and running off to the bathroom, Bea returned to their own room with a prayer that they had an outfit for the day. Laundry day had been skipped when Cain needed supplies from the craft store for a project on Tuesday and the skipped again when Bea desperately needed a nap on Wednesday.
They pulled their last top out of the closet and grabbed a somewhat-clean pair of trousers from the chair in the corner. It would have to do. Laundry could be done that night when they got home. It would need to get done. Cain was running dangerously low on clean pants.
“Zaza!”
A distressed voice came from the bathroom as Bea shook out the jacket they had worn every day that week.
“What is it?” they called back.
“Zaza!”
Bea sighed. “One minute!”
While tucking their top into their trousers, they began to make their way to the bathroom where Cain was yelling. Their phone buzzing behind them stopped them and forced them to turn on their heel.
They didn’t want a call. They wanted to get Cain in his shoes and backpack and out the door.
“What do you want?”
“I have a huge favor to ask of you.” On the other end of the phone, Anthony Crowley sounded hoarse and tired, and Bea knew where the conversation was going. “Can you pick up Eden and take her to school?”
“Are you serious?”
“I have that bug that’s going around. I can’t take her.”
Bea took a moment to breathe in deeply. There was no time to get angry even if Crowley made their ears ring and heart race.
“Only if Cain gets picked up with Eden today.”
“Fine. Zira’s doing pick up. I’ll let him know.”
Bea didn’t like leaving Cain in the care of Zira. He was the only man to make Bea see red just by existing.
Cain learned bad things from him. Like to be nice to everyone regardless of what they do. And to always turn the other cheek when wronged. Bea didn’t want Cain to become a push-over. They wanted him to stand his ground and have the balls to tell people what he really thought of them. The world didn’t need any overly-friendly kindness.
And Zira wasn’t even a totally kind person. He was passive-aggressive and spiteful and hid behind his nice guy persona to maintain his holier-than-thou complex.
Bea dwelled on this as they brushed a knot out of Cain’s hair.
“We have to leave a bit earlier to pick up Eden,” they said. And then, mostly to themselves, “It takes only five minutes to get to their house, but it’s in the opposite direction from school. So, it’ll take 15 minutes instead of 10 to get to school. We’d have to leave Crowley’s house at 7:45 to get to school on time. Which means we have to leave here at 7:40. Which is…” Bea looked at their phone. “5 minutes ago.”
Bea rushed Cain through the rest of their morning routines. They brushed his teeth quickly (they had a spare toothbrush and travel-sized toothpaste in their work bag for mornings like these) and shoved shoes onto feet. Bea rutted around in the glove department in their car on their way to Crowley’s house until they found an abandoned energy bar that resembled a brick under a napkin and an empty bottle of pain relievers.
“Eat that.” Cain happily began to. “I’ll get Eden.”
Crowley answered the door in his robe and childless. He was pale, and his hair was pulled into a messy bun.
“Where is she? We’re late?”
Crowley leaned in the doorway. “Didn’t you get my text?”
“No. I was trying to leave my house so I could tote your child off to school on time. I didn’t look at my texts. Why would I look at my texts?”
“Eden’s sick, too. She vomited on her uniform. I called her off—”
Bea was already storming away. They stopped half-way down the walkway and turned back around.
“Can Zira still pick up Cain?”
“Yeah, sure.”
Bea wrinkled their nose when they imagined Cain walking home with him, probably being asked about the best parts of his day and being praised when Zira heard he shared a snack.
“You know, forget it. I’ll get him on my break.”
“Are you sure?”
“Yeah. I’m pretty sure.”
There was no way they were going to make it to school or work on time now. All because of the diseased Crowleys. All because they had tossed their phone into the bottom of their bag rather than their jacket pocket as they usually did.
“Where’s Eden?” Cain asked, mouth covered in chocolate (did the energy bar have chocolate in it?), when Bea slid back into the car.
“Eden’s ill.” Bea threw the car into reverse. “She’s bloody ill.”
--
Crowley waited until Eden was sound asleep before he called Zira. He brushed her red hair away from her feverish brow while the phone rung.
While his stomach had calmed with a cup of tea, Eden only wanted the comfort of her father to cure her ills. And who was Crowley to deny her that when he knew that a good cuddle was the best medicine?
“Anthony?”
“Hey, angel.”
“What’s the matter? You sound ill.”
Crowley smiled. Zira was so intuitive. “I am. And so is Eden. I was just letting you know that you don’t have to pick her up from school today. Or probably tomorrow. We’re taking the rest of the week off.”
“Poor things.”
“You don’t have to have her this weekend, either. I’ll keep her here.”
There was a pause before Zira spoke again. “I don’t feel like I have to have her.”
“Yeah. But you get the weekend off, either way.”
“It’s not like she’s a kid I’m babysitting. She’s my daughter.”
“I know. I know. I just mean… it’ll be a nice break, you know? Just you and yourself.”
“I like having her.”
“I know you do.”
“I look forward to our weekends together. If she’s ill, then keep her home. But I never feel like I have to look after her.”
Crowley rubbed Eden’s back. She was the best thing to ever happen to either of them. They adored her, and she was doted on every minute they had her.
If anything, she was the main reason Zira and Crowley maintained their weird-somewhat-relationship-thing. Co-parenting allowed for phone calls and texts and dinners. They went to school programs and did shopping for Christmases and birthdays together. They alternated whose house they did holidays at and occasionally took trips out of London. They had dozens of pictures of the three of them at beaches and in little shops and cafes. Crowley couldn’t have asked for a better co-parent/sometimes-boyfriend.
But Crowley felt that sometimes Zira didn’t know what to do with her. He had confessed once that he was paralyzed with fear the first he had her one his own. She was just a baby, and he barely left her side. Even at night, he slept in a chair next to her crib with everything she could possibly need on standby.
“She’s not a chore,” Aziraphale said. “She’s my daughter.”
“Yeah.”
Aziraphale continued to struggle as she got older. He tended to spoil her with anything she wanted—too afraid to say no in fear that she would develop any resentment towards him. When Crowley said bedtime was at 8, Aziraphale would let her stay up until 8:30. When Crowley told her no sweets too close to dinner, Aziraphale would sneak whatever she wanted to her.
Crowley thought of it less as parenting and more of an anxious attempt to be Eden’s friend, which left him in the dangerous position of being the strict parent.
“If you’d like, you could always pick her up from school Monday,” Crowley said.
“I’d love to, but I’m working late Monday.”
“Right.”
“But maybe we could all have dinner then if you’re both feeling up to it. I’ll cook.”
“Sounds good.”
“I’ll let you two rest. Feel better. Give Eden a kiss for me.”
“Will do, angel.”

CHAPTER THIRTY-EIGHT
“Agh!” You grunt out as you swing the staff at the training droid flying around your head. Your feet move swiftly as you dodge the stun bullets being shot at you.
Bruises litter your skin where you couldn’t dodge them, it stings but it fuels you to work harder.
You yelp when it hits you again, your face heats up from anger. Now you’re starting to get frustrated. You turn on your heels to face the droid floating above you, ready to shoot again. You focus in on the sphere-shaped robot. All you need to do is disable it somehow.
Your feet crush the leaves on the ground as you sprint into a jump, your feet hit the bark of a tree which propels you towards another one diagonal from it.
When your foot hits the other tree, you launch yourself in the air towards the droid. The Force gives you more power as you twirl your body in the air and strike down the droid with your staff.
You land on your feet, the pieces of it fall to the ground in front of you. The electricity buzzes from the broken pieces as it malfunctions and eventually shuts down.
You smile proudly, putting the staff on the ground so it’s parallel to your body. “Nice.” You breathe out heavily, your chest rises and falls quickly. You turn on your heel to make your way back towards the base, pushing the long strands of hair out of your face.
It has gotten too long now, all you can do is keep it in a braid that lays heavy on your back.
You meet Rey in the opening of the trees, you both call it your hideaway. She’s floating and there are rocks around her in the air. When she hears your footsteps, her eyes open and she gently floats down to the grass. “How was it today? Better?” She turns towards you with a smile.
“Much better. I actually got it today.” You walk towards her to get closer instead of being across the field.
This is your third time in the past week you have trained. Rey has guided you to get more comfortable using the Force during her lessons too.
Kylo still hasn’t reached out to you. Sometimes, you catch yourself thinking about him and how he is doing. Somewhere in the back of your brain, you hope that he knows that he’s in your thoughts.
Rey knows you think about him a lot, she never says anything about it though. She tries to get your mind off of him when she notices your thoughts wander elsewhere.
“I think it’s time.” You say to Rey, she seems confused by your words.
“Ya know, to cut my hair.” You laugh, pulling the long braid over your shoulder so it‘s in the front.
”Finally!” She dramatically groans in relief, “Let’s go.” She grabs your hand and starts to pull you towards the base. Once your hands get too sweaty, she lets go and jogs with you into the cave.
Leia is sitting down as she writes something down on a piece of paper, “Leia! It’s time to cut her hair.” Rey smiles wide.
Some officials that are standing around stop what they’re doing to glance at the three of you. “Right now?” Leia sighs as she rubs her temple.
“What’s going on?” Rey asks, her face is full of concern as she walks up to her.
“There’s something bothering me. I don’t know what it is, but it’s sitting in the back of my brain.” She shakes her head and takes a deep breath to clear her thoughts. You and Rey glance at each other nervously, “Grab me the scissors. Let’s do it now.”
Leia directs you to sit in her chair once she gets up and stands behind you. Rey grabs the scissors for her as she unravels your hair from the braid. She hands you the hairband and brushes her fingers through your thick locks.
She begins trimming your hair slowly, it floats to the ground around you and tickles your nose. By the time she finishes, your hair shrunk to just below your shoulders in a long bob. It’s long enough to still pull up and style but short enough to be manageable.
“Feel it. See if you like it.” She touches your hair to make sure it’s even.
Your hands run through the soft hair, your head feels so much lighter and you expect to feel more. You almost gasp when your hands fall out at the ends, “It’s so light and soft. I love it. Thank you.” You stand up to give Leia a hug.
A little cleaning droid starts to clean up the hair on the ground, it beeps as it does so. Rey is still standing there, a smile on her face. “It’s very beautiful. I can’t wait to style your hair like mine.” She jokingly says but you wouldn’t mind if she actually did it.
After a few minutes of talking with Leia and Rey, you start to walk out of the command center by yourself. Poe is standing just outside talking to someone. You take him in slowly, your eyes rake over his body sneakily.
He’s wearing a cream button-up shirt that’s almost unbuttoned too low in the front, tight khaki utility pants, a leather blaster belt holster around his waist and his boots.
Just as you go to look away, he catches your eyes with his own. He takes in your new look, you blush when he smiles wide and winks at you. He quietly mouths, “wait for me.” Then he continues the conversation with the person in front of him.
You lean against the cool limestone of the cave, the artificial lighting casts over your face. You pick at your nails as you wait for him to finish up, you don’t even realize that he’s in front of you. “I like your hair. A lot. It fits you better.” His hands come up to run his fingers through it and he tucks it behind your ear.
The slight brush of his fingernails on your scalp makes you shiver. “You sure it’s not too short?” You bite your lip out of nervousness. “Yes, I’m sure. You’d look gorgeous even if you had no hair.” He laughs and slyly slides his hand on your waist to pull you closer.
You laugh gently and shake your head as you look down. “What?” He asks with a small confused chuckle. You lean forward to put your forehead against his chest, his arms instantly wrap around your frame.
“Nothin’, you’re just very charming.” You admit with another nervous giggle. He laughs along with you, “Why thank you.” He hums happily.
Rey walks up to you two, interrupting the little moment you guys are having. “Excuse me, lovebirds. Leia needs Poe, there’s something important she needs to talk to you about.” She clears her throat.
He sighs as he slowly pulls away, he doesn’t want to leave you. “I’ll see you later?” He asks, “Of course.” You nod, then he winks again and walks away.
Rey’s face looks like she’s seen a ghost, “Is it about what she said earlier to us? Like what she’s been feeling? Did she say something to you?” You ramble on.
“Yeah she did, but it’s nothing. Let’s go.” She puts a smile on her face, but you can tell she’s thinking about it very intently.
You’re wondering if it has to do with Kylo, that’s why she won’t tell you. Maybe something happened to him. You gulp as you start walking with her, she knows you’re nervous now too.
After about two more hours of training, she dismisses herself and you end up leaving too since it’s getting dark. You walk into your room, seeing your babies being fed by the droid. “Thank you. I got them now.” You smile as your hand replaces hers on the bottles. The droid leaves the room, probably to go help out around the base.
Once they finish, you burp them individually and snuggle them. You have them both in your arms when someone knocks on the door, “Come in!” You yell softly so you didn’t scare the twins.
The door slowly opens to reveal Poe, he slips inside and sits on the bed next to you. He looks quite serious, it’s scaring you slightly. “Rey was telling me how you were asking her questions about what was going on. She didn’t tell you, did she?” He asks, your eyes go wide.
Your heartbeat starts to pick up the pace, “No. She didn’t. What’s wrong?” The babies pick up on your nervous energy and start to fuss. You shush them gently as he goes on, “Leia felt another dark entity in the Force. She doesn’t know who yet but Kylo Ren may have another leader again.”
You let a heavy breath out, nothing happened to him. “Oh okay.” You take a deep breath again, closing your eyes as you drop your head to calm yourself.
“You’re aren’t worried about that?” He almost laughs.
You pick your head up to look at him, “Of course I am. I thought something worse was happening.” You mumble as you stand up to put the sleeping babies in their bassinets.
“What could be worse than another enemy?” He almost groans in response.
You give each baby a small peck on their forehead, you turn the main light off and flick on the small one next to your cot since it’s much dimmer.
“What are we going to do now?” You ask, “We’re gonna be more cautious if we leave the base and add more cloaking devices to the trees so they can’t detect us here.” He sighs and leans against the wall behind the bed.
“That sounds like a good plan.” You lean back next to him against the cool metal wall. You can feel his eyes on the side of your face and down your body then back up quickly.
You don’t know what your relationship with him is anymore. Is it friends? Are you more than friends? You don’t want to be more than friends right now but sometimes he can be so addictive... Especially with the smooth sun-kissed skin  and dark curly hair of his...
Stop. Don’t think about him like that.
You turn your head to make eye contact with him, “I know you’re thinking what I’m thinking.” Poe sighs with a crooked almost disappointed smile as he sits up “Poe wait-.”He cuts off your sentence.
“I’m sorry. I’ll see you tomorrow okay?” He stands up to leave. He looks back at you and smiles before he slips out quietly.
You blink as your eyebrows furrow, you’re so confused right now. What the hell just happened?
You shake your head and stand up to get into your pajamas so you can get under the covers to sleep. The men in your life need to think about what they truly want.
Just like every other night, something in the back of your head won’t let you sleep. You toss and turn, fluff your pillow and blankets many times. You’re so exhausted. Your body aches and your brain is thumping from lack of sleep.
A blanket washed over your ears, they started to ring for a moment before quieting down. Your eyes shoot open as you look around the darkroom, the only light source is coming from a very dim light on the floor.
You see his dark silhouette in front of the door. You take notice to his obscenely long legs and how his wavy hair can be seen as well. Last time you spoke to him you remember saying that you didn’t trust him and he was quite hurt by your words.
“Are we growing apart?” His voice is stern but still soft. You frown at his words, “No, I hope not.” You sit up in your cot to get a better look at him.
“I had a vision. We fought. I’m not sure what we were fighting over, but you had your own saber. I didn’t want to fight you but I had no choice. You were powerful. Almost as powerful as me. I...I defeated you... I never want to see that again. I need to make sure my vision doesn’t come true.” He rambles on, his voice is shaky. He’s obviously upset by what he saw.
“Kylo. I promise you, I will never try to go against you. Nothing is going to happen like that...” You feel sorrow for him, your bottom lip pouts out a little bit.
“I want to see you.” He blurts out, his facial expression is cast over by the shadow. “I want to meet our children. I understand you don’t trust me, it makes no sense. I would never hurt you.” His voice raises slightly from frustration.
“I trust you with us. Not the Resistance. I know we are your enemy but I won’t let you find them again. We’re happy here. They’ve made a home.” You breathe out and sigh. “We? So you’re with the Resistance now officially?” He scoffs.
“No, that’s not what I meant. I’m not on anybody’s side at the moment.” You grumble and pinch the bridge of your nose between two of your fingers out of frustration.
“Let me visit you. I won’t let alert anybody about your whereabouts. If you trust me enough, you know I would never put you or the children in harm's way. Please.” He’s almost begging you, he seems so desperate.
Your brain works as you think about how this could possibly work out. You could hike far away from camp and he could meet you somewhere in the jungle.
“Think about it. I’ll be back tomorrow.” He mumbles then disappears before your eyes.
Your eyes roll back as you plop back onto your pillows to try and sleep again. This could possibly work. You do miss him so much. You need to feel him in your arms again.
This needs to be your secret, your own little secret.

You are my favourite blogger and I love this blog so much!!!
Okay this has legit taken me like a week to get to because life has just been the most hectic but even if I do say so myself I am obsessed with this fic and I really really really hope you like it.
Also you legally own my soul now because you said so many nice things it automatically ascended from my body and it's on its way to you😩🥺thank you my angel!!!!!
I have never done an active pipabeth x jercy double date thing but I think pipabeth is sometimes mentioned and/or featured briefly in my jercy fics or vice versa. The only one i can think of is my Bakery AU. My favourite pipabeth x jercy fic is Stranded by @punkpipabeth because everything about it is just *chefs kiss* and I love it endlessly. I cannot tell you the amount of times I've read that fic.

Okay here's my one, please enjoy:
Find definitions to ballet terms here;  ma raison d’être means ‘my reason for being’
Tumblr media
"Alright everyone, let's start from the chassè."
"And," His teacher rolls, "Five, six, seven eight."
Percy Jackson pushes off from the bar and strolls to the middle of the room, amusement swimming in his eyes. Jason Grace winks before turning to the front and standing in position.
He pushes his foot forward bending over his leg and brushing the floor with his fingers.
"Good Piper," She calls, "And grand jetè and pas de chat and relevè, relevè. Pirouette."
The music fades as they all breathe heavily, a leg raised behind them and arms fanned over their heads in a V.
"Well done everyone, good class. I expect to see that perfected by Tuesday. But for now enjoy the weekend and rest easy."
The class breaks into chatter and excited bubbling as the weekend stretches out before them.
"Piper," Their teacher says, "Can I talk to you about the costume?"
Percy flops onto the floor, talking a large desperate sip from his bottle and tugging off his ballet shoes.
"Ugh," Jason groans, "I swear these elastics get tighter every time I wear these."
"Maybe if you stopped stretching them with your massive feet you wouldn't have these problems." He teases, green eyes dancing.
"Shut up. Not all of us can look like faerie princes."
"You think I'm a faerie prince?" Percy wiggles his eyebrows.
"Graceful and devious?" The blonde matches his expression, "Hell yes you're a faerie prince."
He blushes, brown skin heating under that electric gaze.
"Hey you two," Piper McLean crashes down next to them, pulling at the ribbons wrapped under her ankles.
"Sup Beauty Queen," He smiles, "You looked incredible out there."
"You really think so?" She shares a rare look of shyness.
"Definitely." Jason's gaze is full of pride.
"Well thank you. Who knew playing Cordelia would be so..."
"Challenging?"
"Inevitable." She sighs and there are possibilities flickering in her brown eyes.
They finish changing out of their sweaty ballet gear in content silence. Percy doesn't bother taking off his tights, just shoves a pair of grey sweats over them before threading his arms through a wind jacket and leaving it to fall open on his bare chest. The wind is cooling against his heated skin and he almost groans in relief.
"You guys want to grab burgers at the Banter Bar?" Jason looks between them.
"Yes!" He squeals, "Gods yes! Let's go." He grabs their hands and races out the studio doors and into the vibrant night air.
Piper laughs, "Let me at least tell Annabeth to meet us there before she thinks I ditched her with no warning."
"Good plan," He echoes her happiness, as he tugs them out the gates and down the road.
The neon lights from all the little diners and bars make their skin look effervescent and their eyes glow with the magic of youth. The wet ashpalt from the afternoon storm is neon with allure. Tonight it feels like the world is theirs to spin and whatever direction it goes they'd go flying with it. Tonight feels like the start of something wonderful. He breathes in the winter wind and his lungs gasp like it's the first time they've tasted life. Tonight feels limitless.
The three of them skip up to Banter Bar to see an amused Annabeth Chase already waiting outside, her skateboard tucked into her side.
"Hello babe," She crashes into her girlfriend and they squeeze each other.
"Hello ma raison d’être," Piper whispers, kissing her softly.
Soon enough they're all flopping into a booth, menus placed in front of them and smiles stretching their cheeks.
"How was class?" Annabeth wraps a hand over her girlfriend's shoulder and slouches into the leather.
"So good! Your darling is spectacular." Percy grins.
She squeezes her shoulder, "I can't wait to see the show."
"It's not only me that's wonderful," Piper looks to the boys across from her, "They're unbelievable. I think Madam Alima is still astounded that Jase can jump that high."
"Says she hasn't seen anyone do that in all her thirty years of teaching or her twenty years of dancing." Percy brags.
"Well everyone in class is in awe of this one’s grace. Cannot count the amount of times people have stopped to stare as he does his adage." Jason fires back, blue eyes sparking.
"Can't believe I'm friends with the most talented dancers in the school." Annabeth smiles at them, her pride shining bright on her face.
The waiter comes back then to take their drinks order and when they all get chocolate milkshakes laughter bubbles from them like brooks and breezes.
"Gods," Black curls bounce as he turns, "Doesn't it feel like you could do anything right now?"
The girls thread their fingers together and squeeze softly before looking at him.
"There's just something about tonight." Piper agrees.
"Everything is irrelevant but this: to embrace life. To feel it. To savor it. To love it. Marty Rubin." Jason whispers.
"Yes," Percy turns to the blonde. To that strong jaw, and scarred lip and cerulean gaze. "That's what it feels like."
His head falls to his friend's shoulder and he feels a little closer to home. Their milkshakes are set down before them, a glazed cherry gleaming on the mountain of cream. With a delicious smirk he licks off the sugary whipping and offers the cherry to Jason. A gleam enters the blonde’s expression as he leans forward, eye contact like concrete sin, and closes his lips around the bright red fruit.
Their boundaries had always been a little blurred. Had always been one trip away from more. But it was fun, exhilarating to tiptoe on this edge. See who fell in first. If they would catch each other. Drag one another down with wicked smiles and warm hands.
"Where are we going after this?" Piper pauses her slurping to ask.
"Wherever the cobblestones take us." He shrugs. It's the kind of night to dream about the future and pretend the present is nothing but an exciting mystery.
"Let's go to the Hovel?" Jason suggests, pushing away his empty cup.
"Oh gods," Annabeth groans, "I couldn't even walk the last time we went there."
"Whose fault is that?" Her girlfriend laughs, "You were the one that fed us more shots than we have fingers."
"I’m a sucker for two-for-one. Sue me." She grumbles, sticking her tongue out.
"I'm down. But first I have to get out of these clothes."
"Before all that you little gremlins," Grey eyes narrowed, "Eat. I know how you guys get. Once an idea is sitting in your brains nothing else matters."
"Alright mom," They laugh and wave the waiter over to order greasy, cheesy, stuffed with everything but the kitchen sink burgers.
Class always makes them hungrier than should be possible and they can devour just about anything in front of them. When the food arrives, they dig in immediately. Faces stuffed and giggles bursting between them.
Jason picks a fry from Percy's plate and he looks at him incredulously.
"You did not just steal a precious potato from me."
The blonde responds by reaching over and stealing more.
With a laugh from the girls and a gasp from him, the black-haired boy jumps at Jason and attempts to steal his fries. But his friend is quick and the fries are held up in his right hand, high in the air and faraway from him before he blinks.
He scrambles onto the blonde's lap, unaware of the sharp inhale it drags out.
"Give me your fries you thief." He bounces as he tries to reach them.
Jason's hand is warm on his hip, keeping him pinned down so he doesn't go toppling onto the floor, "Nope. You were too slow."
He whips his ocean eyes to look at his friend, shoving his face so close their noses brush, "I was too slow?"
The boy hums and Percy’s attention falls the vibration of that smooth throat.
"Maybe you should have used some of that grace everyone loves you for."
He huffs a laugh, "Maybe you shouldn't steal."
"Trust me you stole something first." Blue eyes flash.
"And what exactly is that?" He breathes, as their foreheads fall together.
Jason just smirks and pushes him off his lap.
Annabeth and Piper are wrapped up in each other, whispering softly into their skin. They all turn to one another and if you ever went back to ask the waiter what they saw that night they will swear the room changed colours for that brief moment.
Later when the group arrives at the club, donned in outfits made from glitter and sacrilege, they shove their way to the center of the dance floor and became one with the music. Hands and skin and magic weaves between them. Like the start of something dazzling. Like obsession.
Percy wraps a hand behind Jason's neck and pulls their bodies together, so nothing is between them but electricity and indulgence.
"If this night never ends I'll be happy." He screams over the music, hot breath and joy in his friend's ear.
"Wanna die here?"
He can feel Jason's smile on his cheek.
"In your arms?" His lips graze a golden neck, "Every time."
"Want to know what you stole from me?" They pull back slightly, so emeralds and aquamarines meet.
"What?"
The blonde grabs his hand and puts it on his chest. He feels the rapid beating under his palm and his fingers curl into the shirt.
"If I fall into hell," He pushes into his face, "Catch me will you?"
"Let's fall together?" That grin is ungodly in its beauty.
"Lets fly."
And then Percy Jackson kisses his best friend and finds home between their souls.

Afraid ch 10

“I don’t understand why we have to keep having this same argument” I pinched the bridge of my nose.
“You’re not getting any less pregnant with my kid (y/n)” Nikki hissed between clenched teeth. “You expect us to transport him between two houses as an infant?”
“I just don’t understand why this is such a big deal and why we’re in such a rush.” I nervously picked at the skin around my nails.
“You’re almost four months pregnant!” He was pacing the small space between my living room and kitchen. Something that had become habit while we argued.
“You’re welcome to be here with the baby and myself.”
“I haven’t lived in an apartment since I had the money to buy a house you think I’m willingly moving into your tiny ass apartment?” Okay maybe that was a ridiculous request.
“I’m not sitting here and fighting with you.” I stood up grabbing my purse and car keys from their places by my front door.
“Where the hell are you going?”
“For a fucking drive.” I slammed the front door behind me and quickly made my way to my car as angry tears filled my eyes.
“I hope you don’t cry as much as you make me cry” I sniffled patting my stomach as I pulled out of the parking lot. I knew exactly where I needed to go to get myself together.
I pulled into the driveway behind one of the many cars that sat there, most of them hardly receiving any use. I cut the engine and checked my reflection in the rear view mirror to inspect how puffy my eyes were from crying during the drive over. I knocked on the front door and waited a few seconds for any noise on the other side. Hearing nothing I knocked again to no avail. Finally getting fed up I rapid pushed the doorbell and the front door was soon swinging open to a freshly awake Tommy lighting a cigarette.
“What the fuck (y/n) I was sleeping.” Tommy yawned.
“It’s 2 in the afternoon” I pushed past him making my way into the kitchen and grabbing a bottle of Coke out of the fridge before flopping on the couch.
“What are you doing here?” Tommy asked sitting next to me on the couch and placing my legs in his lap. That was our usual position for when we needed a good venting session and despite his question Tommy knew exactly why I was there.
“Your best friend is pushy and thinks everything should go his way or not at all.”
“Hi have you met Nikki Sixx?” Tommy chuckled. “What is it about this time?”
“He just keeps insisting I move in with him and I don’t see why I need to do that.”
“You’re having a baby together. I think that calls for living together” Tommy scoffed.
“I don’t want to move in with him.” Well that was half true.
“Why? You guys basically have lived together since we first went to Vancouver.”
“I don’t want to live in that house Tommy. I can’t raise our kid in that place.” I felt tears starting to form in my eyes. “That house is where Nikki lived his worst moments, where he shot up, and every time I go there it’s all I can think about the entire time. Our baby can’t be there.”
“So tell him that then you dork. Make something work.” Tommy shrugged like it was the simplest solution. He opened his mouth to say something else, but was interrupted by the phone ringing in the kitchen. He got up muttering that it was probably Heather calling from where she was filming.
I flipped through the channels on TV to see what I could distract myself with while he had what would probably be a long phone call. I changed the channel again to Mtv and was both pleasantly and unpleasantly surprised with the Motley Crue music video for “You’re All I Need” playing. I couldn’t help but chuckle remembering the story Nikki had told me behind that song, man he really was a crazy person while on drugs.
“God that might be one of my favorite and least favorite songs off that album” Tommy spoke before dropping back onto the couch and putting my legs in his lap again.
“Well I’m sure when you helped him write it you didn’t know he was writing it to be vindictive. How is Heather?” Tommy paused for a half second then cleared his throat.
“She’s uh- she’s good. We’re kind of in our own little argument right now” He rubbed the back of his neck nervously.
“Well spill, what’s going on?” I patted my thighs indicating for him to rest his head there, which he did without question.
“It’s just with you and Sixx having this baby, and Vince and Mick having kids, I want to start a family too.” He said quietly.
“And Heather still doesn’t want to have children?” I ran my fingers through his long and messy hair.
“She’s worried they’ll ruin her chance of having a long career, but she’s my wife and I’m a fucking rockstar. She doesn’t need to work. She’s just stubborn.”
“She wants to be her own person not just Tommy Lee’s wife.” I chuckled.
“Yeah well I wouldn’t have made her my wife if I knew we were never going to be a family” He huffed. “Can I ask you a question?”
“Any time you want to you can”
“Can I touch your belly?” He asked shyly and I grabbed his hand resting on his side and placed it on my stomach.
We stayed like that for what seemed like forever before I even noticed Tommy’s sniffling. He sat up to wipe a stray tear that had fallen.
“I’m sorry. That isn’t very manly of me” Tommy sighed.
“Don’t be sorry. I know how bad you want to be a dad” I could feel my own tears starting to form and mentally cursed Nikki for doing this to me.
“I just have always wanted my own family. It’s my lifelong dream.” Tommy mumbled.
“I hope she comes around.” I cried as the flood gates opened in my eyes.
“Oh my god Nikki was right you do cry about everything now.” Tommy laughed and I smacked him with the throw pillow behind me.
“I can’t help that the slightest sad thing makes me a blubbering mess.” I sniffed. “It’s Nikki Jr in here that is making me emotional.”
“Please tell me that is not really a name consideration for the baby.”
“God no!” I exclaimed. “It’ll be a cold day in hell when I name any of my children Nikki Jr. I would rather name them something weird like apple or lavender”
“You should name him Tommy Jr.”
“Yeah right!” I giggled.
The lock to my apartment felt ten times louder than normal as I turned my key inside of it. Nikki sat on the couch watching an action movie I couldn’t name. I didn’t say anything as I set my things in their designated spots and made my way to Nikki. I went to walk past him to sit on the recliner near by, but he reached out and grabbed my wrist pulling me into his lap.
“Hey” He said barely above a whisper.
“Hey” I played with his hand nervously. “I was worried you wouldn’t be here when I got back.”
“With you is where I want to be.” He grabbed my chin softly and lifted my head to look him in the eyes. “I love you (y/n).”
“I love you Nikki.” Our lips connected in a soft peck and Nikki rested his forehead against mine.
“You know if you keep running to my best friend when we argue I will have to challenge you to a fight for him” he tucked his hand under my shirt to rest on my abdomen, his new favorite spot and my ass long forgotten.
“Wait how did you know I was with Tommy?”
“I called him to see what he was doing to try to clear my head with MY best friend.” I stuck my tongue out at his playful words and he tickled my side in response.
“He only got one phone call while I was there and it was- ohhhh he lied to me so I wouldn’t know it was you that called.”
“Yeah I kind of asked him to not tell you it was me.” He chuckled nervously.
My stomach growled loudly cutting through the breif second of silence that had fallen between us.
“Did Tommy feed you?” Nikki scowled.
“I didn’t ask him to feed me.” I replied sheepishly.
“You know you need to feed our son so he can grow to be a big strong rockstar like his dad.”
“Would you quit calling our baby a boy we don’t know yet.” I rolled my eyes and my stomach punctuated my sentence with another growl.
“Come on momma bear let’s get you and the baby some nourishment”
Nikki wouldn’t tell me where we were going, just said to get dressed and get ready for a surprise. The sports car purred as Nikki (who insisted we take one of his cars) drove up a small incline up to a gated neighborhood full of houses bigger than I could ever imagine.
“Nikki what are we doing here?” I questioned as Nikki punched a few numbers into the box on his side and the gates swung open.
“I just have something to take care of here really quick and then we’re gonna have us a nice date day” Nikki smiled wide kissing my hand that was interlocked with his own.
We drove up the street until we reached a house at the end that looked like it could fit four of my apartments inside of it. Nikki pulled into the driveway and cut the car off hopping out and motioning for me to join him. Raising an eyebrow, but following without question we made our way to the front door. Nikki opened the door and gestured for me to step inside.
“Nikki what are we doing here?” I repeated my earlier question.
“Would you just get in the damn house.”
I stepped inside the foyer and noticed the house was entirely empty. It was clear that nobody was currently living there or possibly nobody ever had.
“So what do you think?” Nikki asked leaning against the wall.
“Of what?”
“Our new house.”
“Our new WHAT?!” I choked.
“This is where we’re going to live and raise our son and any other kids we have.” Nikki shrugged. “So what do you think?”
“I think you’re a crazy person Nikki fucking Sixx.” I wrapped my arms around his neck and pulled his face close to mine. “But I love the shit out of you”
Nikki wasted no time closing the distance between our lips and slipping his hands to the back of my thighs. Following his cues I hopped up for him to lift me and wrapped my legs around his waist. He carried me into the kitchen never once breaking concentration off of kissing me. He sat me on the counter and we broke apart to sloppily remove our clothes.
“Not even moved in and we’re already breaking in the kitchen” Nikki chuckled undoing the ties on his leather pants.
“We’ve haven’t done a single thing traditionally yet why ruin a good thing?”
And break in the kitchen we did.
