TBT deleted scenes
you can find all the deleted scenes and a bunch of early story boards on youtube, but heres some highlights
branch and poppy have a "couples scrapbooking montage" to make the conspiracy board
JD has a massive amount of wallet pictures of his brothers
it looks like at some point velvet and veneer were supposed to be bergins, which makes sense, but was later changed to what we have now
branch being one of gristle's groomsmen and supporting gristle when he gets nervous, also smidge being part of the team getting gristle together and cooper being part of bridgets wake up team was a cute little moment of like gender non conformity that i guess got cut
floyd had dark hair with blue tips and was somehow more emo
we got to see baby branch's perm
velvet had space buns
velvet keeps floyd locked in a chest and he visibly squints against the light which is so much more angsty omg
ronda went through a bunch of intresting design changes, my favorites so far were a second pair of eyes and a design that was very hippo like
jd mentioning smthn about a net and a grapple gun i think my man was going to straight up kidnap bruce and clay
poppy made them go through a training montage
viva just watching poppy ramble and smile as she does oh my heartttttt
velvet and vaneer covering the obvious trolls in their chests with very obvious scarves is hilarious
cute little sequence of bridget and gristle gearing up for their honey moon
they originally had the climb to vaycay island be much more difficult, branch falls and in the first version is saved by poppy, in the second he is arguing with JD and is then saved by him
thats all ive seen so far! go check em out if you feel like it

Any Arcana headcannons you’ve yet to share? :0
Nadia knows the most languages out of all of the main 6, but she can speak like a textbook. Julian is the best conversationalist in other languages and picks them up pretty quickly. Asra and Lucio know odd phrases but mostly get around unfamiliar places with gestures or common words. Muriel and Portia never had much opportunity to learn different languages, though Portia is especially curious to.
Inanna can be like a possum mum for the other familiars. She's as big as a bear so even Melichor and Mercedes can take a nap on her back.
They are all trans.
All of them.
Nadia's family threw a parade for her once she decided her name. Morga easily accepted Lucio's transition but chose Montag for him, and he got a transition out of one of his many demon deals. Muriel never bothered changing his. Julian tested out lots of different names after he left Nevivion (basically one for every place), and Portia asked Lilinka to give her a name in place of thejr parents.
Nadia not-so-secretly wants to give Muriel a whole new wardrobe but she knows it'd overwhelm him so she instead takes every random holiday to give him a new outfit.
Portia's relationship history is almost as messy as Julian's (the devoraks are disasters)
Asra wants to scrapbook his travels but every time he tries he never actually finishes more than a couple of pages
Nadia and Lucio have had passive aggressive spice-tolerance competitions that quickly got out of hand
The largest animal Lucio has tried to keep in the Palace is an albino bull elephant who promptly destroyed the entrance hall

I watched Like Crazy
*I’m talking about the movie here so this post contains spoilers of the movie. Do not read this post if you haven’t seen the movie but are planning on it*
Of course, my interest in this movie stemmed from Jimin said that he really likes this movie and that it helped inspire his main track off FACE that goes by the same title. So, I watched it. I’m not much of a movie person and romantic movies are very much an I have to be in the mood to watch it sort of thing. Like Crazy a melancholy movie about an initially passionate heterosexual relationship that becomes complicated over time.
I went into this wanting it to evoke some emotions that Jimin might have felt. I was never moved to tears, but it was a good, sad movie.
The beginning I couldn’t help but notice the parallels in Jikook’s relationship. The main couple Anna and Jacob were very playful in their flirting, and it was really cute. They were inseparable. They did activities together like riding go carts and there was a long scene of them playing on Santa Monica beach which was the same beach that Jikook went to at night during PTD LA era.
Anna the female lead is a foreign exchange student and has to go back to England once they graduate college. The couple plan to make it work, and the morning that she is supposed to leave she decides to stay thinking that it would be a big deal. There is a long montage scene of them staying cuddled up in bed together for days on end, which felt very Jikook coded.
Eventually she has to go back, and they promise to reunite. He gives her a silver bracelet that says “Patience” and she hands him a scrapbook type diary of their moments together.
Once she is home though, they both realize it’s difficult for them to stay in contact. They keep playing phone tag and are busy with work. Eventually, they move onto different relationships but keep trying to make it work but the spark isn’t there.
The movie has an extremely ambiguous ending that felt abrupt.
I am not going to speculate something super in depth about how this movie could tie into Jikook’s relationship. I don’t think they broke up and found different partners like the characters in the movie did, but the theme of the movie being about being forced to be separated from the one you love is for sure is something that relates to them. With MS ahead, they will be separated. When Jimin was busy with FACE promotions and even recording the album itself, they were probably separated more than usual too. And that could have been a hard period for them.
Don’t take this post as any type of insecurity projected onto their relationship. We saw 2 min of JK in Jimin’s live. They are fine 🤣 I was mostly curious to watch this movie and see if I could feel the same emotions that Jimin might have felt. It’s a good movie. I didn’t relate to it much personally, so I don’t have super strong feelings about it. But the movie seemed to have had a lasting impression on Jimin, one of our two hopeless romantics.

Orion and the Dark (2024) review
Tumblr media
Woah, Jacob Tremblay under went some plastic surgery or something, as he looks mega-different! Was watching an interview with him and Paul Walter Hauser talking about this film, and the kid has hit puberty big time. Now looks like an annoying moody teen. If they reboot Twilight, we’ve found Edward.
Plot: The thing Orion fears the most is the dark. When the embodiment of his worst fear pays a visit, Dark whisks Orion away on a roller-coaster ride around the world to prove there is nothing to be afraid of at night.
What starts as a pretty basic by-the-numbers animated film about how every aspect of life can be scary quickly morphs into something that celebrates the unpredictability of it whilst exploring how balance is essential. The main kid Orion - he’s basically Beau Is Afraid for kids. He gets freaked out by everything, and honestly he was just really sad to watch, and Tremblay is almost too good at portraying the character’s inner fear, making me wonder how much of the real Tremblay is present within Orion. We are treated to an amusing scrapbook montage of Orion’s imagined worst case scenarios, after which the film briskly jumps straight into the nightly events where Dark comes knocking, featuring a delightfully narrated introduction by Werner Herzog. Paul Walter Hauser makes Dark so loveable, turning a concept that is scary for some into a gentle giant with his own doubts and insecurities. The interactions between Orion and Dark are entertaining and amusing, if a bit inconsistent, as every time you think they’re becoming friends, Orion goes back to his fears. It’s all easy digestible family friendly entertainment, even if there were a couple of surprisingly dark, pardon the pun, jokes included throughout.
However it is in the last 20 minutes when the movie does a mad 360 degree turn and switches genres into this crazy multi-generational escapade, as such in the last 10 mins me and my fiancée were questioning momentarily what just happened. Look, as a collective package Orion and the Dark is a basic animation that takes a lot from other movies of its kind, but those last moments or so jarringly mad and out-there that we were shook. That is until I saw who has a screenplay credit and then all made sense. That’s right, one of the writers of this film is Charlie Kaufman. As you may know, Charlie Kaufman’s films scratch at your head and mess with your mind, as his writing fundamentally deconstructs the ways in which it plays with and incorporates narrative structure of the story itself. In a nutshell, his films are surreal and weird, hence why Orion and the Dark’s ending makes all the more sense.
The animation style itself is fun, somewhat similar to Mitchell vs the Machines’ 2D to 3D blend, and a pleasing colour palette with the dark blue and purple environments, however you can tell this is a cheaper budget from DreamWorks, as many times the backgrounds looked too plain and simple, and even the character designs of the nightly entities were not that original or creative. In fact aside from Dark, all the other night sprits were really bland and unmemorable, and one of them was voiced by acting legend Angela Bassett, so that’s saying something.
Overall Orion and the Dark is enjoyable for what it is, but doesn’t really make a strong impression aside from its last mind-bending 10 minutes, and knowing now of Kaufman’s involvement I feel like this movie had the potential of going weirder from the start, but instead is really by-the-numbers and forgettable, and will not be seen as the cure to nyctophobia.
Overall score: 5/10

The Soundtrack of Being Human: The Fan Favourite Musical Moment!
It's time! The results are in! A couple of weeks ago I launched a vote for fans of the BBC's cult hit Being Human to choose their favourite use of (non-score) music that appeared over its five series. And it seems only right that the results should be posted on the anniversary of the first episode airing (25th January 2009). Thank you to everyone who voted and shared their thoughts! I hope you all enjoyed remembering all the fantastic tracks that were used in such fantastic scenes.
The fandom is a little like a ghost; some people think it's dead and gone, and most of the time it may be hardly noticeable but oh no! It's for sure alive in spirit, and just like Gilbert, it has a lot to say about music!
First though a massive thank you to the amazing directors, editors, producers, music supervisors, and anyone else from the show's crew who was behind the soundtrack. They won't see this, but Being Human would not have been Being Human without its music, and it was a super hard decision trying to narrow it down from over 100 possible choices!
But there can be only one winner. So, here is a countdown of the top ten musical moments as voted for... BY YOU!
Keep reading below though if you want a little bit more blabbering on about the music - including comments from you guys! (or you just want to know the results quicker!).
(Before I get into it though, please remember this is all just a bit of fun and should not be taken (too!) seriously!)
#10/9. Dirge by Death in Vegas - 'Uncle Billy' shows Nina the Box Tunnel Massacre scrapbook
The Longest Day (S3).
Starting off our countdown is the music that heralds the beginning of the end for our favourite greasy-haired vamp. Playing for a lengthy 5 minutes (almost the whole song!), it's probably the longest musical moment in the whole show. Accompanying Herrick showing Nina the scrapbook, Nina freaking out, her making THAT phone call, then finishing as Herrick utters some surprisingly-ominous final words, it's no wonder this reached the top 10. It's beautifully haunting and impactful, and you realise that Mitchell is really and truly screwed.
#10/9. Can't Pretend by Tom Odell - The Trio walk through the deserted city
The Last Broadcast (S5).
The one song from Series 5 that made the top 10, it follows Hal, Alex and Tom as they discover that shit has indeed got real in the streets of Cardiff. One voter commented "The haunting vocals really add to the desolation of the scene, and the lyrics represent Alex and Hal's rocky relationship." Can't Pretend had only been officially released the week before it appeared in Being Human's final ever episode and Tom Odell was making a pretty big name for himself in the UK indie scene, so whoever managed to bag the licence - thank you!
#8. The Future's So Bright, I Gotta Wear Shades by Timbuk 3 - Cutler makes his entrance
Eve of the War (S4).
Series 4 fan-favourite Cutler swaggered onto our screens to this fun and upbeat song that has also become a firm favourite amongst us fans! Being Human always found music that fit characters perfectly, and this one is completely suited to the ambitious and optimistic (and maybe slightly foolish) visionary that is Cutler, Nick Cutler. Although nothing much happens in the scene, it was a pleasant distraction from the gloom and doom of the rest of the episode and immediately drew our attention to this trouble-making vampire.
#7 Somebody to Love by Jefferson Airplane - Time Travel Make Out Montage
Through the Looking Glass (S2).
With all of its songs reaching the top 20 of the vote, Through the Looking Glass is one of the stand-out episodes for musical moments as it transports us to the 1960s. This track plays as Mitchell gets it off with Josie in 1969, and Lucy back in the present day, in a scene that (despite Mitchell's stunning 60s hair) is as hot as you'd hope. The scene flicks back and forth with help from some fabulous editing but it's the music that really makes it, and "is one of the cleverest and most subtly heart-breaking things Being Human ever did."
#6. Tainted Love by Soft Cell - Annie meets Gilbert at the club
Ghost Town (S1).
"I hate this music!" Well, Being Human fans disagree with you hugely there, Annie! A good few voters praised Ghost Town as being their favourite ep for music, thanks to new wave fiend Gilbert who, as director Alex Pillai notes "is stuck in time [and] on the tunes of era in which he died." Tainted Love is blasting in the club when Annie first meets Gilbert and while it may not seem at first like a top musical moment, it's infinitely more significant when you realise how it introduces an episode full to the brim with relationship troubles...
#5. History Repeating by Propellerheads Feat. Miss Shirley Bassey - Herrick awakens after a jolly good munch
Though the Heavens Fall (S3).
The penultimate episode of S3 was anything but a happy ol' time, but it IS the episode with the most highly rated musical moments (Hungry Like the Wolf JUST missed out on the top 10). We all knew Herrick returning to his old self was inevitable, but it was still a brilliantly satisfying result and made all the more memorable by this song welcoming him back with all his memories and vampiric nature in full force. Having just mercilessly killed two people, history did indeed seem keen on repeating... Poor Nina never stood a chance.
#4. The Tunnel of Love by Fun Boy Three - Gilbert Fun!
Ghost Town (S1).
First introduced as a cynical and miserable counterpart to the slightly naive and chirpy Annie, Gilbert was revealed to be a truly caring and genuine man with a very certain idea of entertainment. And thus we were treated to the montage to end all montages - Gilbert Fun! Although Annie wasn't impressed with twig-dancing, police-insulting and Nietzsche-reading, we certainly were and Gilbert won our hearts. He also won the favourite supporting character tournament over on the Facebook group (but don't tell him that!).
#3. God's Gonna Cut You Down by Detroit Social Club - Mitchell returns to find Honolulu Heights has some guests staying
Though the Heavens Fall (S3).
Another song from the episode in which pretty much everything Goes Wrong (apart from the music!), God's Gonna Cut You Down is a pretty perfect choice to play as moody Mitchell comes home to discover it's standing room only for bloody lycos. A fan notes that "it just captures the rage and darkness around Mitchell, and it feels proper biblical." Safe to say that with the threat of the prophecy hanging over him, he's not feeling too good about the number of werewolves congregating downstairs. On a full moon. Great.
#2. Sigh No More by Mumford and Sons - Mitchell helps Carl fake his suicide and escape
Serve God, Love Me and Mend (S2).
The only song in the top 5 that isn't from an episode renowned for its musical moments, Sigh No More still managed to impact fans enough that it's reached 2nd place. The shot of Carl crying over his dead boyfriend with the lyrics saying "I'm sorry" in the background is a hugely powerful and emotional moment. At 2 minutes it's a long cue but it's an essential one - creating a segment that has at least one voter sobbing each time! Apparently it's one of music supervisor Ross Sellwood's favourite music uses too. Now I'm off to find tissues.
Before we get to first place, here's some honourable mentions.
St. Petersburg by Supergrass - the first song we hear on the show. Playing over the title card in the first two episodes, it's got a place in the hearts of fans and reached no.18 in the vote.
The Coral - The most used artist in the show with 3 songs appearing in the episode 'Tully', The Coral's songs just perfectly encapsulate Being Human's tone, especially in S1!
Grounds for Divorce by Elbow (S4 ep3)- This is for Sarah who was very upset that this wasn't included. I'm sorry, it is a great track.
Barbie Girl by Aqua (S1 ep4)- Being Human has a wonderful sense of humour, and this playing during Annie's poltergeist meltdown is a perfect example of that.
Blue Peter Theme (S4 ep6) - See above. You've just killed a vampire, and you gotta celebrate! Short but sweet and perfect for a show that represents the best of British TV.
All of Hal 'I Dont Sing' Yorke's delights - Not technically musical moments as classed here, but Hal wouldn't be Hal without his penchant for singing... despite his reluctance to admit it.
But that's not all! Fans were also asked to vote for their favourite Trailer Music and the vast majority voted for one in particular, and that is...
***** Howl by Florence + The Machine - Series 2 Trailers! *****
Awoo!!
But now back to the show! And at number 1... the fan favourite musical moment is...
#1. When the Sun Goes Down by Arctic Monkeys - George tries to find a place to transform
Flotsam and Jetsam (S1).
Playing as George runs (and screams) through the woods while trying to find a place to transform, When the Sun Goes Down has stood the test of time and has been voted the fan-favourite musical moment in the show. The song "sums up Georges predicament perfectly without being all wolfy and on the nose about it" and helps make George's nightmare situation one of the funniest and most memorable scenes in the whole show. Appearing in the very first half hour of the very first episode, it was the ultimate introduction to the Being Human we know and love - and made fans fall in love with George quicker than you can say "You smell like Polos, have you got a hole?" Ross Sellwood was the man behind this idea, and we are eternally grateful for it!
Thank you to everyone who voted, and to everyone who has kept the magic of this show alive for 13 years, and counting!

if you’re taking requests maybe roadtrips with eren, jean, armin and connie?
road trips
Tumblr media
oh my god this is the greatest idea i’ve ever heard.
eren, jean, armin, connie + road trips
(going on a road trip with all four of them at the end)
cw: fairly gender-neutral, modernverse, weed references
Tumblr media
𝗲𝗿𝗲𝗻 𝗷𝗮𝗲𝗴𝗲𝗿
eren insists on driving the whole time, no matter how long the trip is.
his phone is plugged into the aux because “my car, my rules” but he doesn’t complain when you unlock his phone and start picking songs.
forcing him to pull into a drive-through so he can eat real food, not just the 44 oz of mountain dew and monster energy he got from the gas station before you left.
hand-feeding him french fries.
playing i spy when it’s too dark to see anything, or on long highway stretches where the scenery doesn’t change.
“i spy... something blue.” “is it the sky?” “you’re so good at this, babe.”
it’s very easy to talk him into impulsive detours, even if they’re in the opposite direction – he may be the one driving, but he’s relying solely on you for instructions. just tell him where you’re going and he’ll take you there.
“___ is only a two hour drive from here! we should go!” “yeah? okay.”
driving with the windows down and enjoying the cool nighttime air.
car-camping in national parks – putting the seats down in the back and throwing together your bed for the night, sitting on the hood of his car to look at the stars with no light pollution, getting baked and watching a dumb show off his phone before going to sleep.
at this point, eren realizes he forgot to pack his phone charger so you’ve gotta share.
getting breakfast together. eren’s not a morning person, but he can’t be grumpy when you’re looking so cute and sleepy in one of his hoodies.
eren driving with one hand on the wheel and the other holding yours, occasionally lifting it up for a kiss as a silent thank you for being there with him. as if you’d dream of being anywhere else.
Tumblr media
𝗷𝗲𝗮𝗻 𝗸𝗶𝗿𝘀𝘁𝗲𝗶𝗻
listening to the radio to keep things spontaneous, usually the classic rock stations.
jean taking his hands off the wheel because he needs to air-bass along.
listening to true crime podcasts when the radio cuts out – it’s funny watching jean’s face twist up in disgust during crime scene details, and sometimes he yells in response as if the podcasters can hear him. you also play detective about who you think did it – loser buys food at the next stop.
music keeps things energetic at the start, but podcasts keep his mind stimulated when he’s been driving for a while.
the original plan is to split the driving, but you end up falling asleep with your face smushed against the window and jean doesn’t have the heart to wake you up. he doesn’t mind driving the rest of the way.
stopping for food every couple of hours to make sure you’re both eating properly, not just snacks. you do have plenty of snacks, though.
jean going "uh – excuse me” whenever you open a bag of something and sticking his hand out. he’s like a dad, he always needs a handful of whatever you’re having. sharing is caring.
jean always packs a lot of unnecessary things, and he will reserve the right to say i told you so when his double-hammock comes in handy.
limited stops along the way (minus food/gas/bathroom) – getting there relatively early means you can relax in the hotel room and maybe explore/go out for dinner later that night.
when you take over driving, jean is a big window-watcher and takes a lot of pictures of the mountains/scenery.
already making plans on cool things you can do on the way back, when you have no time restraints – day trips, scenic rest stops, hikes, etc.
Tumblr media
𝗮𝗿𝗺𝗶𝗻 𝗮𝗿𝗹𝗲𝗿𝘁
stopping at a starbucks first-thing to get drinks for the road (he makes sure to get some food too so you’re not just running off a venti iced coffee)
splitting the driving – armin is the better (and calmer) navigator so you usually take the first and final shift.
dozens of cute polaroids to put in your adventure scrapbook
researches fun (and romantic) things you can do when you get to your destination and reads them aloud to you. you come up with a plan together. that waterfall hike sounded really fun.
armin takes lots of videos because he likes making little montages for his socials
you’re in control of the music. armin likes when you show him new artists – he’ll slowly nod his head along and inevitably add the songs to his spotify. he really likes snail mail.
he takes over driving when you get tired – he likes holding your hand when he drives, or sometimes you’ll lean over and rest your hand on his thigh.
armin trying not to melt when you put on one of his hoodies for warmth – you have your own, but his are comfier and they smell like him.
silly games to pass time like i spy or looking for different license plates. it’s fun until armin gets clever and spies things like the mile marker from 10 miles back.
you insist you aren’t going to fall asleep because you wanna keep him company, but you end up curling into your pillow and dozing off mid-conversation. it’s adorable, and he doesn’t mind. he’ll usually turn on a podcast or an audiobook.
armin stays awake the whole time but it catches up with him once you reach your destination – all he wants to do is cuddle and rest up
Tumblr media
𝗰𝗼𝗻𝗻𝗶𝗲 𝘀𝗽𝗿𝗶𝗻𝗴𝗲𝗿
leaving a day in advance or very early in the morning because you stop at every tourist attraction along the way.
scenic lookout? let’s go there. world’s biggest ball of yarn? fuck, count me in. meteor craters? already merging onto the exit. dinosaur bones? you read my mind.
picking up cool souvenirs along the way like geodes and stickers to put on his water bottle. maybe a funky lil alien to hang from the rearview mirror, along with his 20 tree air fresheners.
taking cute, cheesy pictures of and with each other – connie posing with his arms out like he’s holding the mountain, standing in front of national park signs, etc.
you collaborated on a road-trip playlist in advance (it’s 12 hours long)
somehow you end up listening to veggie tales or absolutely losing it until the car starts rocking to britney spears
"i love this song” to every song, as if he didn’t put it on the playlist
listening to connie sing along and butcher all the lyrics. impressive falsetto, though.
arsenal of snacks – more than you realistically need
screaming every time you see a new “welcome to ___” sign
“WELCOME TO ___!” “WOOOOOO!”
connie rocking the socks with slides. it’s comfortable.
pulling through drive throughs every once in a while for food, continuously forgetting to throw out the trash bag from your last stop.
Tumblr media
𝗴𝗼𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗼𝗻 𝗮 𝗿𝗼𝗮𝗱 𝘁𝗿𝗶𝗽 𝘄𝗶𝘁𝗵 𝗮𝗹𝗹 𝗼𝗳 𝘁𝗵𝗲𝗺
stopping at the gas station to fill up the gas tank and stock up on snacks for the road – almost everything from the candy aisle, giant bags of doritos, slushies, energy drinks. nobody really thinks to get actual food.
the driving is split between eren “i’m serious, pull the fucking car over or i’m gonna piss myself, jean” jaeger and jean “eren stop honking my fucking horn, traffic won’t go any faster” kirstein. armin is the navigator because they’ll both get everyone lost.
everyone has their turn with the aux cord – until connie cracks himself up playing the same song over and over, then you have to pry it from eren’s cold, dead hands.
so many pictures
impulsive stops at tourist attractions.
playing dumb games to pass the time (quickly turns into replacing one word on each sign with “poop” because they’re all a bunch of children).
finally stopping at a diner later that night for real food
making it to the campsite and setting up tents and hammocks
getting baked around the campfire and telling spooky stories
connie complaining and scaring himself while he wanders off into the dark forest to find a spot to piss
smores (ofc)
going on group hikes and jumping into lakes/down waterfalls together. video of jean belly-flopping.

Being Married To Jungkook ~ BTS Headcanon
Tumblr media
Your Wedding
Your wedding was better than you could have ever imagined, it was everything you wanted
The two of you had spent hours together discussing how you wanted the day to go, both of you were meticulous making sure every detail was perfect
You married in a country park, a gorgeous tepee with fairy lights everywhere created a dreamlike reception
Jungkook was in awe of the whole occasion, especially how beautiful you looked
“All of this feels like I’m in a dream, it’s just magical.”
Both your families were in attendance, they were massive fans of your relationship
Jungkook definitely sobbed during his speech, as soon as he began, he couldn’t hold himself together, allowing the happy tears to fall
His eyes were on you all the time, how he got so lucky, he didn’t know
Your wedding photos looked incredible, Jungkook was also going around with his camera throughout the day, snapping pictures of your guests
The boys were of course his best men, his biggest fans throughout the day
“Who’d of thought the baby maknae would be the first of us to get married?”
Your first dance was beautiful, Jungkook made to show you off to all the guests, standing in the background of your stunning dress
Neither of you wanted the day to end, the weather was perfect creating the most incredible atmosphere
It was easily the best day of your lives
He couldn’t wait to look towards the future and see what married life brought to you both
Tumblr media
Being Married To Each Other
The first few days of married life created a lot of smiles for you both, you kept having to remind yourself you were married
One of your favourite things to do was play with your ring, admiring what he had chosen
You couldn’t wait to look back at all the photos, sending them to all your friends and families, scrapbooking them all as keepsakes
“I wish we could do it all over again, if I could get married everyday for the rest of my life I would.”
“I don’t know, marrying you once Kookie was stressful enough.”
All the sleepless nights you’d spent planning ended up being worth it
Jungkook couldn’t wait to print off his photos and piece them together
He had a few days off from the studio to be able to spend time with his new wife
You spent the evening of your wedding in a nearby hotel, Jungkook easily picked you up, carrying you over the threshold
“Now this makes everything feel official, carrying my wife to bed.”
Your honeymoon took a bit of time when you could find time in his busy schedule to get away for a week
One of your favourite chores after marriage was changing all your details so they were addressed to Mrs Jeon
Being married brought new responsibilities, the two of you suddenly felt incredibly grown up
Jungkook didn’t want to become complacent, he still took you out on date nights to keep the spark
You couldn’t bring yourself to return your dress, keeping it hung up in your wardrobe
He loved to introduce you as his wife, a big smile was always on his face as he did so
Everyone knew the two of you were going to get married, you were made for each other
Eventually your wedding video came from the videographers, you settled on the sofa one night to watch it through
Of course, Jungkook cried, he cried at anything, the opening montage was enough to set him off
“Kookie, this video is an hour long, you can’t be crying already.”
“But, look how cute you look getting ready, how can you not feel emotional?”
Suddenly, the two of you found yourself very domesticated, interior design was one of your favourite things
It didn’t take long for Jungkook to start thinking about children, and what the two of you look would forward to next
He began to move away from work a bit more to dedicate more time with you and settle as you built a family
A lot of keepsakes were kept from your wedding, little table decorations, table runners, anything cute
You received a lot of wedding gifts, things for your house were one of the major things guests brought
The fans also sent a lot of good luck messages beforehand, they couldn’t wait to see all your photos
Not much changed for you both, aside from a change of name, you still had the same love and respect for each other
It took a long time for you to adapt to married life, introducing yourself by your maiden name
His family spent a lot of time with you both too, helping you to sort things out
You still felt like you only just began dating sometimes, you kept a lot of the fun in your relationship, date nights were big, and trips were important
Jungkook loved to have you on tour still too, he would always ring you wanting to spend time with you
Being married was what you both had dreamt of for quite a while, so for it to come true, was the happiest day of your lives
It brought the two of you both closer together as you enjoyed your new outlook on life
Tumblr media
Your Honeymoon
Your honeymoon was everything the two of you could have dreamed of, it was exactly what you needed to spend some quality time together
You flew to Bali as it was somewhere neither of you had ever been before
Going away was all about relaxing, you wanted to forget about the world and enjoy the bliss
Jungkook loved spending days with you when you wore your bikini, you looked, incredible
He loved to explore with you too, going on little adventures, leaping through forests or running down beaches
His camera was his best friend, anything he could take a photo of, he would, so you could remember it all
It was rare for him to get so much time with you, so he was determined to make the most of it
You also reminisced about your wedding and all the little moments that made you smile
“I will never forget Hobi’s drunk dancing, it was a sight for sore eyes.”
“Or, when Namjoon tried to do a cartwheel, I mean, what was he thinking?”
The boys weren’t happy about you being away, they called everyday to see how you both were
You bumped into a few fans, but they were incredibly respectful that it was your time
Both of you kept your social medias up to date so the fans could see what you were up to
Most of your trips were once in a lifetime, Jungkook wanted to make it the best week of your life
You went paragliding, swimming with dolphins, all the things you could only dream of as a child came true
Neither of you wanted it to end as your two weeks away came to an end
The boys, however, couldn’t wait to have you both back in their lives
“We’re missing you like crazy, make sure you bring us back a present.”
Tumblr media
Marital Issues
As with all couples the two of you had your fair share of arguments, the responsibilities were rather overwhelming
Bills and paperwork were the main topics of discussion, Jungkook never really understood how to handle them having had people do it for them
The realisation that marital bliss did come to an end at some point was hard on him
He hated arguing with you, he loved you, but sometimes it was just natural
Jungkook would always say sorry if there was an argument, it made him incredibly sad
All he needed to do was glance down at his wedding band to remind himself that the argument was stupid and irrelevant
You were always there to comfort him after an argument, talking it through was the best way for you both
For most of the time the two of you got on incredibly well, there wasn’t much for you to argue about
If anything, you argued less when married as Jungkook made sure to spend more time with you
You were best friends, you hated raising your voices
Having seen how marriage affected some of your friends you were both determined to make yours work
“I hate arguing with you, it breaks my heart, can we just forget about all of this?”
Forgiveness was a must, you helped to teach Jungkook about all the things marriage entailed
He loved that you were willing to help him learn about how a good husband was expected to behave
Tumblr media
Looking To The Future
If it wasn’t made clear before, Jungkook was desperate to start a family with you and build a family
Being married made you both feel grown up as if you were finally adults with adult responsibilities
Performing was one of his dreams, but another was definitely starting a family
“I feel like I’m ready to settle down soon, babies are the next step I think.”
You also brought your first house, taking a bit of independence away from the band, and having somewhere of his own
Kook was desperate to be a good husband, he was incredibly respectful and supportive of you
He loved everything about marriage, he loved being a husband and telling everyone about you
Naturally, he couldn’t be happier knowing that he had you for the rest of his life and you weren’t going anywhere
The thought of the rest of his life with you was the best thing ever
Tumblr media
The Boys Take On Your Marriage
All the boys were the biggest fans of your relationship, they thought you suited Jungkook perfectly, there was no one better for him
Jin loved to tease him as the new grandad of the group as he settled down with you
“You must be feeling old now JK, you’re basically like an old man.”
Namjoon was on hand to look after you both, he was so proud, thinking back to the days when he first met Jungkook, and now, he was a married man
Your favourite moment was a song Jimin had written to perform at your reception, dedicated to the two of you and moments you’d spent together
Hobi took the lead on their best man speech for sure, he was in charge so that everything went perfectly, retelling lots of jokes
“I always remember when Jungkook fell flat on his face the first time Y/N came to visit us at the studio because he was so embarrassed.”
Taehyung brought the best gift; he was the one that designed one of the scrapbooks for the two of you to fill with memories
Yoongi wasn’t big on weddings, but he was big on you, happy to support you both on your special day
They were there with you through everything, they helped you to plan and set up your whole wedding to reduce the stress on you both
All of them adored you, they couldn’t have been happier to attend your wedding

Black Coffee & Pumpkin Pie Chapter 8

The Golden Trio. The Three Musketeers. There were many nicknames people had for Emma, Lily, and Alex. They had been born one month apart from the other, and had been raised together since diaper hood. They’d gone through everything together - learning how to ride bikes, first crushes, first broken hearts, driver’s ed, and now, they were all going to the same college.
But this time, Emma had kept something to herself. She had yet to tell either of them that she’d been on that date with Neal, because she knew Lily would get that smug, ‘I told you so’ look on her face. Plus, that date had felt different from the dates she’d been on in their little town, and she really wanted to make sure she’d settled in her feelings before blabbing to her friends about it.
She couldn’t stop thinking about how Neal’s smile lit up the room, how the light hit his eyes, how that kiss made her feel like her heart was going to explode from happiness.
And they were planning a second date! Emma felt her head beginning to spin, overwhelmed. She’d spent an hour talking to her mom after she’d gotten home and showered, and thankfully her mom had been open to listening about how she felt and was encouraging her to see where the relationship went.
She wouldn’t be nervous about the whole “meet the parents” thing if it wasn’t for Eudora. She’d grown up knowing Mr. Gold all her life (he wasn’t nearly as intimidating as he seemed), but Eudora was a stranger to her, and despite Neal’s high praise of her, it still had her worried.
Emma was so deep in thought, she didn’t realize her friends were approaching until Lily’s lunch tray dropped down in front of her face, and Emma felt like she jumped a mile.
“Lily! Alex!”
“Geez Emma, any deeper in thought and you were going to land straight in your onion rings!” Alex remarked, setting her tray much more gently onto the table than Lily had. “What’s on your mind?”
“Wait, don’t tell us, it’s Neal, isn’t it?” Lily cut in, a Cheshire Cat-like grin already on her face. “He asked you out, didn’t he?”
Emma rolled her eyes and groaned. “Fine, yeah, it’s Neal. We went out on Friday.”
“It’s Monday and you’re only just telling us this?!” Alex yelped. “Emma! We’re your best friends!”
“Honestly, we were supposed to have a big montage of buying you an outfit for the date!”  Lily agreed. “But how’d it go?”
Emma smiled, coy. “I don’t kiss and tell, girls.”
Alex looked like she was about ready to explode from happiness as she bounced in her chair, while Lily, as expected, looked smug.
“So he’s a good kisser, huh?” Lily asked.
“Lily!”
“That’s a yes then,” Alex smirked.
“This is why I didn’t tell you,” Emma grumbled, biting an onion ring before taking a sip of her soda. “But what about either of you? Meet anyone interesting now that we’re nearing the end of our first college semester?”
“Nah. No one’s all that interesting. I mean, they’re fine to talk to… well except the guy that sits next to me in my music theory class falls asleep every day… and drools.”
Emma wrinkled her nose. “Ew. What about you, Lily?”
“Same. I mean, girls are cute which is always good but you know I’ve never been a big fan of dating,” she said with a shrug.
“I still think you should’ve asked out Maggie from your biology lab,” Alex pouted. “You would’ve been so cute together.”
“I’m not the dating type,” Lily countered. “But I have been very well acquainted with Maggie as of late.”
Emma gave Lily a triumphant smirk. “So I’m not the only one keeping secrets then, huh?”
“Um, I already told you all my secrets Emma. You’re the one still being coy about your date with Neal.”
She frowned. “What is there to tell? He let mom take a proper picture for her scrapbook, he took me to Tony’s for dinner and then we took a walk on the beach until it started raining. And then we planned for another date.”
Lily wagged her eyebrows. “Oooh, date number two, huh? When’s that going to be?”
“I don’t know. His mom and sister are coming in for Thanksgiving, so he’s got to figure all that out before we decide,” she said with a small shrug, tossing a napkin on her empty plate. “You know how busy it gets around here during Thanksgiving so I don’t expect it to be before then.”
“Then that gives us time to plan your outfit!” Alex chirped.
Emma groaned and rolled her eyes. “Honestly, this isn’t the first date I’ve ever been on. Why are you two so obsessed with this?”
“Because it’s fun to watch you squirm,” Lily shrugged.
“You two are the worst,” Emma grumbled as her phone buzzed. “Oops, time for me to head to my math final! Guess we’ll have to talk later! Byeeee!”
Emma was out of the cafeteria before Lily or Alex realized what happened, her cheeks still bright pink.
----
Thanksgiving in Storybrooke was a chaotic time for the small town. The scent of baked goods became even stronger in the air as the bakers frantically produced pies, cookies, breads and cakes for those who didn’t want to bake them themselves.
The town’s decorating committee, headed by Mary-Margaret Nolan, was hard at work transforming the town into something out of a magazine, with banners and an array of decorations on each and every building and light pole in the town.
Belle had mapped out the route for the parade, X’s carefully marking the sidewalks and roads before the sheriff's deputies put the barriers up to block traffic.
The Nolan family was hard at work during their free moments from school or work, harvesting fresh fruits and vegetables for their friends and loved ones.
Neal was used to a hustle and bustle in town, but Storybrooke was something else. The beauty of the fall colors he’d only seen on TV or in movies along with the decorations made it feel like something out of a cheesy Lifetime movie, and Neal didn’t mind. It would be fun to show it off to Mama, Tiana, Mr. La Bouff and Charlotte.
Bangor Airport was only a couple of hours from Storybrooke, but waiting for the plane to come in was agonizing. Neal found himself caught between frantically checking his phone and pacing between the arrival list and the nearby cafe.
“NEAL!!”
Charlotte La Bouff’s voice cut through the crowded airport like a knife, her blonde hair bouncing with each step she took.
He should have figured she’d be leading the charge.
“Hey Lottie - oof!” he grunted as she swept him up in an almost bone-crushing hug. “It’s good to see you again.”
She giggled, pulling away and allowing him to go into the familiar arms of his mother and sister and give Big Daddy a firm handshake.
“Welcome to Maine,” he greeted.
“Oh honey let me look at you,” Eudora said, putting her hands on Neal’s shoulders and looking him up and down. “You’ve been eatin’ right? Getting enough sleep?”
Neal chuckled and hugged her again. “Yes Mama, I promise. Papa and Belle have been making sure of that.”
“How far is it to Storybrooke?” Tiana asked.
“About two hours, so if anyone has to pee I’d do it now. I’d also brace yourself for the temperature difference once we get outside.”
“Oh don’t worry about that, Neal. It was in the 50s in DC when we got our connecting flight.”
Neal scratched the back of his neck, thinking of the flurries he’d driven through to get to the airport. “Right. Yeah, the 50s.”
“You weren’t kiddin’ about the weather,” Eli said, shivering as they loaded Neal’s Jeep with the luggage and retreated into the warmth of the car.
Neal laughed. “Yeah, it’s taking a bit to adjust to. And they’re calling for snow tomorrow too. Not much, but enough to coat the ground.”
“Oh how fun!” Charlotte said, her knees bouncing. “I’ve never seen snow before!”
“Hopefully you’ll enjoy it then,” Neal chuckled, pulling out of the airport and beginning the scenic drive back to Storybrooke.
It took longer than the normal two hours to get back, with Charlotte and Tiana wanting to stop here or there to take pictures of the colors that lit up the trees, but they made it just as the sun went down, casting a dusky glow over Storybrooke as he pulled into the parking lot of Granny’s.
“You want typical diner food, this is the best place to come,” Neal said. “And… Emma’s working tonight.”
“Ooh! So we’ll get to meet your girlfriend?” Tiana teased.
“She’s not my girlfriend,” Neal replied, praying none of them noticed his flushed face as he sent a quick text to his father to tell them they’d made it to town safely.
“Not yet,” Charlotte’s sing-songy voice hummed as she pushed the door open, and Neal suddenly remembered just how it was to be surrounded by two sisters prodding into his business.
“Anywhere you like!” he heard Emma call.
They carefully put a couple of tables together, saving three for his father, Belle and Gideon, before Emma appeared.
“Neal, hi! This must be the New Orleans crowd you told me about,” she said, glancing at the others. “My name’s Emma and I’ll be your server today.”
“So you’re the famous Emma we’ve heard so much about. It’s so nice to meet you, honey,” Eudora said with a wide smile.
Emma grinned. “It’s nice to meet you too, Eudora. Neal’s told me so much about you guys.”
“Papa, Belle and Gideon are on their way too Emma,” Neal said. “Do you mind grabbing drinks for them too?”
“Iced tea, Coke and regular tea. I got it, Neal,” Emma chuckled. “I’ll give you guys some time to look over the menu.”
“Oh, she’s good,” Tiana said, her eyes wide as Emma retreated back to the kitchen. “You sure she isn’t interested in the restaurant business, Neal?”
Neal snorted. “Yeah, I’m pretty sure Tiana. She's studying criminal justice and wants to become a detective like her dad. Mama, who did you get to keep an eye on the restaurant while you guys are up here?”
“Ray and Evangeline. Figured another wife-husband duo would be good for the restaurant, and besides, they know how to whip the employees into shape,” she said with a small laugh. “But we decided to only do takeout orders the day before Thanksgiving. I’m hoping that will make things easier for the staff.”
“It’d sure make things easier on me,” Emma grumbled as she reappeared with the tray of drinks. “But Granny’s stubbornly set in her ways.”
“Granny?” Tiana asked.
Emma nodded toward the cash register, where Granny was overseeing a transaction from her wheelchair. “94 years old and still stubborn as the day is long. She’s an old family friend of my mom’s though, so I try not to complain too much around her. Oh! Hi Mr. and Mrs. Gold, Gideon! Do you guys need menus?”
“We know what we want, thank you Miss Nolan,” his father said, taking a seat next to Eudora as Emma set the tea in front of him. “We’ll take our usual orders.”
Emma nodded, departing again when Neal and the others gave their orders.
“How were your flights? Not too much trouble, I hope?” Aiden asked, sipping at his tea.
“Oh, not at all, the only big trouble was trying to navigate Reagan National. We got a little turned around and almost missed boarding,” Eli explained. “But otherwise it was smooth sailing, as they say.”
“Mrs. Gold?” Tiana asked. “What were you plannin’ on cooking for Thanksgiving? Because, I was wondering if I could make sweet potato pie.”
“Oh, we usually do the typical Thanksgiving feast. Turkey, stuffing, potatoes, salads. We would never turn you down if you wanted to make something,” Belle replied. “My father will be bringing mashed potatoes and Aiden’s mothers will be bringing vegetables.”
Tiana grinned. “Awesome! My daddy’s sweet potato pie is the best in New Orleans.”
“We can head to the Nolan’s farm tomorrow and see if they have sweet potatoes. I know Emma mentioned they have a lot of produce they still need to get rid of,” Neal said.
“We’ve gotten most of our produce from the Nolans since David took it over,” Aiden said with a soft smile. “David has really brought the farm back from the brink of bankruptcy. It’s like he has a magical touch for farming.”
“Ooh well, I can’t wait to see what sort of produce they have,” TIana said. “I love goin’ to the Farmer’s Market in New Orleans, so it’ll be a real treat to see a farm up close!”
Charlotte’s eyes turned dreamy. “Don’t you remember going to that farm in first grade? The horses were so pretty!”
“Lottie, you dared me to kiss a frog and it jumped on my head and wouldn’t let me go until the farmer managed to get it off. I’ve blocked out most of that field trip,” Tiana replied with a roll of her eyes. “Poppy called me the Frog Princess for a month!”
“You never did read that fairy tale again…” Eudora mused as the table broke out into soft laughter.
As the evening wound down and the group returned to the Gold house, Neal watched as the group splintered off into conversation.
His father, usually quiet and unassuming, sat with Eudora, looking at every photo she presented him - she had made copies of every single photo she had of or with Neal.
Belle, ever charming and worldly, was having an animated conversation with Charlotte and Eli about travel.
Gideon was with Neal and Tiana. Gideon, like their father, was at first quiet and unsure of the guests, but slowly began to come out of his shell, talking with Tiana about why food made the certain reactions it did when it was cooking.
The Gold household was full of laughter and light that night, each person going to bed with a smile on their face, and a small stomach cramp from laughing too hard.
The next day, Neal drove through the light dusting of snow up to Nolan farm with Tiana and Charlotte.
“Oh Neal, this town is just too cute! It’s like somethin’ out of a story! Oh! I know! I should do the top ten cutest small towns for my next blog!” Charlotte squealed.
“Lottie, you haven’t been to any other small towns,” Tiana laughed. “How are you gonna do that?”
Lottie bounced in her seat like a dog on its way to the park. “Then I’ll do the top ten cutest places in Storybrooke!”
“I’m sure Mayor Mills-Hood will be honored to put Storybrooke on the map,” Neal laughed as he pulled up to the farm. “Here we are.”
“Oh, hello Neal!” Mary-Margaret called, carrying a large basket of produce. “You must be here to pick up your dad’s order.”
Neal nodded. “Hi Mrs. Nolan, yeah, that’s right… but my sister was wondering if she could take a look around and see if there’s anything else she wants?”
“Of course. Were you looking for anything specific, Tiana?”
“Sweet potatoes. Mrs. Gold mentioned you have them.”
Mary-Margaret smiled. “We do. Let me take you to the greenhouse and show you.” She set the basket down on the table before leading the trio over to a large greenhouse. “David and Eva built this together to protect some of our plants. There are a lot that we tried to plant for years, but the climate here can be… unpredictable. But now we can with the greenhouse.”
“Mrs. Nolan, do you mind if I take pictures?” Charlotte asked. “Your farm is just so pretty!”
She hummed. “I suppose that’d be okay. Just don’t disturb any of the animals, alright?”
“I won’t, thank you!” Charlotte bounced on her toes before running off.
Mary-Margaret laughed softly, handing Tiana a couple of bags. “She’s sweet.”
“She’s a lot to handle sometimes, but she’s like my sister,” Tiana laughed. “Thank you so much for this Mrs. Nolan.”
“It’s no problem,” Mary-Margaret replied. “Oh, and Emma should be back soon if you wanted to say hi, Neal. She went to get breakfast with Lily and Alex.”
“Oh - okay.” He hoped the flush of his cheeks went unnoticed, or at least, was blamed on the sudden humidity of the greenhouse.
Tiana gave him a smug grin from behind a sweet potato plant and continued harvesting the sweet potatoes.
“Do you and your family have a big Thanksgiving, Mrs. Nolan?”
Mary-Margaret nodded. “Oh yes. It alternates between mine and my step-mother’s home, but we do love to do Thanksgiving in our family. And this year is even more special since Margot is home this year with her girlfriend.”
Neal gave her a weak smile. One day, he’d be comfortable announcing that bit to the town too. But for now it was safer to keep their relationship hidden. “I’m sure it was even more insane when Emma and all of them were kids, huh?”
“You have no idea,” Mary-Margaret laughed, shaking her head in amusement. “I can’t even tell you how many accidents we nearly had with the kids running through the kitchen when one of us was carrying a heavy pot.”
“Okay, I think I’ve got what I need!” Tiana announced, the bags full right to the top of sweet potatoes, green beans, peppers and berries. “If nothing else, some of these’ll make a great snack before we head back to New Orleans!”
“Here, Mrs. Nolan, I have the money for Papa’s order too,” Neal said, handing over the money his father had given him before they’d left.
“Thank you, I’ll be back with your things,” Mrs. Nolan said as the trio left the greenhouse and headed back in the direction of the farmhouse and driveway. “Oh - there are the girls now.”
Neal grinned, waving to Emma, Charlotte in an animated conversation with Lily.
“Lottie, come on! We need to head back to help Mrs. Gold!” Tiana called, adjusting the produce in the back seat as Neal got in the driver’s side.
He noticed the blush on Charlotte’s cheeks the moment he pulled onto the road back to his father’s.
“So how was the farm?” he asked casually.
“Oh… you know, it was nice. The sheep and the dog and the snow everywhere…” Charlotte replied, sounding wistful.
Tiana gave him another smug look as she glanced in the back. “And Emma’s friend? C’mon Charlotte, your cheeks are as pink as your gloves!”
“Okay, fine. Lily was not bad to look at either,” she admitted, looking down. “We gave each other our phone numbers.”
“That’s awesome, Lottie! I’m really happy for you.”
Neal grinned. “Lily’s a cool girl. Glad to see someone caught her eye.”
“Yeah… we’ll see where it goes. Oh Tia… this town really is magical,” Charlotte sighed. “Maybe we’ll find someone for you too!”
“Oh Lottie no, that’s - ”
“I mean it!” Charlotte declared, back to her normal self. “I found a princess, and I’m gonna find you a prince!”
The morning of Thanksgiving was nothing short of chaotic. Belle had everyone up bright and early, getting as much prepped for their meal as they could, before everyone hurried to the heart of the town for the parade.
It was a quaint thing, with the high school’s marching band leading the way as floats created by the other high school clubs were pulled down the road by whatever trucks they could find. Gideon was on one such float, for his science club - it was a giant vinegar and baking soda volcano that spewed out fall-colored liquids. Neal wasn’t sure how they’d managed to pull that off, but he was sure Gideon would be happy to answer.
What got the most buzz in the town though, was the float carefully built to the specifications of the decorating committee - the float pulling Marco in his Santa costume, nine reindeer suspended in the air greeting the cheers of children, while an unhappy-looking August waved to the crowd.
Charlotte was buzzing around taking photos of everything for her blog, happily chatting to anyone that caught her attention.
“You know, it’s almost like she’s at home here,” Eli mused. “I didn’t think I’d ever see her so happy outside of the big city like this.”
“That’s the charm of Storybrooke,” Aiden replied with a chuckle as Regina began her welcome speech from the small stage that had been set up. “It’s like a fairy tale.”
That evening, Neal settled between Tiana and Gideon as the group sat down at the large dining room table for dinner. His grandmothers, Anna and Isobel, sat across from him, serene smiles on their faces while his step-grandfather, Moe, looked a little tense, but relaxed when Eudora or Eli spoke to him.
He hadn’t known his grandparents growing up - all of them had died before his birth. Milah never spoke about them, but Killian would talk to him about his mother, Alice, saying nothing but praises about her.
“My only wish is that you and your cousin could have met her,” he’d said on more than one occasion. “She would have loved both of you.”
“I’d like to propose a toast,” his father said, rising to his feet and holding his wine glass with his free hand. “This past year has been extraordinary, and we are fortunate to be able to celebrate this Thanksgiving with more of us than ever before. Though the circumstances were less than favorable, I believe things happen for a reason, and fate brought us together for a reason. We have our Baelfire back, and new family members to welcome to our heart. This year, I am grateful for that. To our family.”
“To family,” the rest of the table echoed, clinking their glasses together.

Top 5 references to midrash or to Torah commentary in The Prince of Egypt.
1. Aaron as spokespersonIt would be impossible for me not to mention Aaron on this list, for the oft-noted and sometimes- (oft-?) criticized differences between Aaron in the Torah and Aaron in the film are among what I’ve spent the past three and a half years thinking about.  (He’s played such a key role both in my coming out of the fog/processing trauma as an adoptee and in my Jewish learning and journey.)
In the Torah, Gd appoints Aaron to be Moses’ spokesperson to the people, as Moses is reluctant to take on the task of speaking to and leading the Israelites, arguing that he’s not a man of words, being “slow of speech and slow of tongue” (JPS translation).  However, for The Prince of Egypt, the filmmakers say they had to change Aaron’s role, primarily because it would take too much from Moses’ agency.  Instead they made Aaron “the skeptic who represents the doubt and cynicism of the Hebrews” (The Movie Scrapbook).
But, how interesting and full of implications that is.  At least, that’s how I feel.  It’s interesting that Aaron remains a spokesperson.  It’s interesting that he’s still the voice of, or for, the people, who are “fickle” (like they are in the Torah), and that he acts as a representative.  This article on My Jewish Learning says that “Aaron is dominant in relating to the people.”  I’ve thought about this role as a “connector” as it might relate to his function as the High Priest (korbanot; bringing closer).  I’ve thought about Aaron’s communicating the needs, the distress, of his people as it might relate to the Golden Calf episode, where he responds to their needs.  The filmmakers did in fact make changes to Aaron’s character and his relationship with Moses (and Gd do I love it, because as much as he is the voice of the people, he is his own voice, and that arc, toward hope and with Moses, is everything), but at the same time I’ve loved delving into how those changes possibly, perhaps unintentionally, make him similar to his biblical counterpart.  Oh, and I think he ends up with Moses in the movie the way he starts, and is consistent, with Moses in the Torah; also the former shows the process.
Other references I love: The light blue color of Aaron’s robe seems to be a nod to the robe that the High Priest wears (do an image search for “kohen gadol”).  Though I like my offbeat personal midrash about the Clouds of Glory, Aaron taking the first steps towards the Red Sea is probably a more deliberate reference to his brother-in-law Nachshon, who in the midrash is the first to step forward while everyone else is too afraid.
2. The Well of MiriamThe Well of Miriam was a rock that was given to the Israelites on Miriam’s merit.  It followed them in the wilderness, and under Miriam’s care put forth water that helped sustain the people.  Without the Well, and without Miriam, the people would have had nothing to drink (indeed, it disappeared upon her death).  I love how, in the film, Miriam is shown giving water to Tzipporah for her journey back to Midian, the siblings reunite by a well, and she’s shown with a jug of some kind in the scene before Moses accidentally kills the Egyptian guard (I’ve always assumed it’s water she’s carrying, perhaps to give to the slaves).  Miriam is closely associated with water (even her name!), with bolstering life and hope.  PoE stands out and above as an adaptation because of the way it treats Miriam and her role in the story, incorporating and following midrash and honoring her defiant, hopeful, prophetic, guiding character.
Other references I love: Miriam is characterized by knowing, in terms of prophecy and being a witness to infant Moses’ fate on the Nile.  She’s the one who makes sure Moses knows who he is: in the Torah, by suggesting that their mother become his wet-nurse (presumably he grows up knowing he’s Hebrew); in PoE, by telling him the truth about his origins when they all meet near the well.
3. Connections to Numbers 12I wrote about it in this post.  It’s an unconfirmed reference, and I might be stretching the material a bit, but I’ve always been intrigued by how even just the basic outline of the episode in the Torah — Miriam and Aaron speak out, Miriam is punished, Aaron pleads to Moses for her to be healed — resembles what happens in the well scene in the film.
I’m not exaggerating when I say that it took three years for me to write about the connections.  There was just a ton of reading and gathering of information to do in the meantime (on the back-burner most of the time because I was also coping with my mom’s death, and because the well scene has always held other emotional significance) — regarding Miriam’s feelings about Tzipporah, who “the Cushite woman” even is in the first place, reconciling Aaron’s apparent lack of punishment, etc.
4 / 5. Pharaoh’s hardened heartOne thought-provoking book that I read earlier this year was The Exodus You Almost Passed Over by Rabbi David Fohrman (some excellent wordplay in that title), which covers a lot more than what I’m about to try to explain here.
The section of the book I want to highlight is language-related.  The English translation popularly states that Pharaoh’s heart “hardens” or “is hardened.”  However, the original Hebrew actually uses two different words: chizuk halev, or “strength of heart” (e.g. courage, emboldening), and kibbud halev, or “hardness of heart” (e.g. stubbornness).  Tying to its overall premise, the book seeks to analyze when and why they’re used.  One place where chizuk halev occurs is after the Nile has been turned to blood: When his magicians are able to replicate the change, Pharaoh’s heart is strengthened.  That is, he takes courage and is reassured that he can outlast whatever “tricks” Moses and Aaron, and their Gd, are attempting to throw at him.  An instance of kibbud halev occurs after the plague of frogs: Pharaoh makes the oddly specific request to have the frogs removed “tomorrow,” and even when Gd does this, Pharaoh ignores the sign of Gd’s precise control over the plague, and hardens his heart.
As I mentioned, there’s a lot more to Rabbi Fohrman’s book.  I enjoyed it because it gave me a new perspective on Genesis and Exodus in general, and a chance to revisit and gain an intellectual interest in Rameses and the entirety of the plagues sequence in the film, thinking about how both chizuk halev and kibbud halev appear there too, and about that lyric, “Let my heart be hardened.”
5 / 4. Meeting Jethro, Tzipporah’s sisters, and TzipporahExodus 2:16-22 describes the meeting between Moses and Tzipporah’s family, Moses’ marriage to Tzipporah, and the birth of their son Gershom, beginning this way: “Now the priest of Midian had seven daughters.  They came to draw water, and filled the troughs to water their father’s flock; but shepherds came and drove them off.  Moses rose to their defense, and he watered their flock” (JPS translation of verses 16-17).  I like how closely the movie follows this part, and I’ve always enjoyed Jethro’s “you should not be a stranger in this land” as a sort of sly reference to Gershom, whose name was inspired by Moses’ feeling that he has been a stranger in a foreign land.
There’s a midrash that says that Reuel/Jethro is fearful of Moses and throws him into a pit to die, and that Moses only survives those years because Tzipporah sneaks him food.  Clearly the movie decided not to go that route.  (It’s maybe possible to make a Tzipporah-rescuing-Moses-from-a-hole-in-the-ground connection?  But honestly there’s an established tradition of couples meeting by a well: Rebecca and Isaac, Rachel and Jacob.)  I’m not very familiar with Jethro midrashim — based on what I do know, it seems like PoE Jethro is more similar to in-the-biblical-text Jethro: welcoming toward Moses and giving him counsel.
[#4 and #5 switch spots: Even though I like Tzipporah and her family quite a bit more, and I love the montage in Midian, the stuff with Rameses is more stimulating for my brain.]

I would!! Whenever I think about my future, I’ve always been married in it. i’m an absolute slut for commitment so marriage is. peak

43. How long was your longest relationship?

57. Things you want to say to an ex
I’m sorry for some of the ways I acted when we dated. We were just kids, I didn’t know better. I just liked you so much, it made me a little crazy and I didn’t know what to do with that yet. You know, I wish we had met maybe 5+ years after we did, I think we would’ve been better. We’re both so different now, though, let alone five years from then, so maybe it wouldn’t even work out between the me that I am now and the you that you are. We’re so different now than we were before.
But we were good together, right? At least we were at the beginning? I’ll never stop wondering what things would’ve/could’ve been like if we didn’t meet so early in life.
73. What’s something sweet you’d like someone to do for you?

Selecting the best photo booth for the wedding is really a delicate process. You would like someone you can rely on, but you should also make certain the photo booth you are renting meets your desires. There's a couple of factors to consider when selecting a photograph booth company:
Vintage
Some people such as the classic feel and look of the vintage photo booth. If you're searching to invoke nostalgia, a classic booth is ideal for you. Their old-fashioned feel and look will help remind both you and your visitors of days when they were a typical site.
One drawback is they are bulky and therefore are limited in where they may be placed. Additionally they have a tendency to cost somewhere in the plethora of $1500-$2000  to have an event. However, if you value the thought of getting a vintage booth and individuals unforgettable photo strips, then to you.
Digital
For other people who don't put on their hearts focused on the classic look, an electronic booth could be the answer. Digital booths have the benefit of being lightweight and highly mobile, and therefore are less costly, usually varying from $1000-$1200 to have an event. Furthermore, these booths can make high definition photos and may fit 8-10 people, sometimes more. If you're searching for something after some more value for your money, and are prepared to spare the vintage locate a more contemporary curtained booth design, a digital booth may meet your needs exactly.

A larger booth results in more income, but when again, some companies provide large booths at no greater cost than other peoples small booths.

1X06 - Dipper vs Manliness - Rewatch
Me: Up next, Dipper vs Manliness!
My Partner: Dipper vs Manliness?
Me: Yep. This one has minotaurs in it!
Partner: Mini-taurs?
Me: Man-a-taurs. Get it?
Partner: Oh.
Me: At least, I assume that’s the pun Gravity Falls was going with here.
Let’s get started!
Stan trying to pass broken glass off as crystals and getting called on it makes me giggle.
They literally just locked him in the gift shop. I wonder how long it took him to notice.
huh. Fiddleford seems to really like coffee.
You know, it kinda blew by me, but my partner just asked if Stan was really just trying to feed them dressings and...huh. Of course, that’s kinda Stan’s relationship with money in a nutshell isn’t it?
Also it’s kinda sweet that Dipper initially wants to try the manliness test to get Mabel some pancakes.
Dippers entire crisis here stems from being laughed at. Okay, yes, he’s shown signs of having insecurities before but this seems like the first time it’s directly connected to his masculinity. Previously it’s just been coolness or ability to fit in, but a lot of the phrasing and specific points of ridicule make it specifically manliness he becomes obsessed with here.
Also I...I’m not sure what exactly Manly Dan thought he was doing trying the manliness test right after a literal twelve year old failed at it. Seems kinda like a dick move.
You know what? I completely forgot the whole Stan and Susan thing started with Stan having a crush on her. Although I find it slightly suspect that he was fine when he first walked in and she took his order but then when she actually brings him food he gets all flustered. I’m not sure what it makes me suspicious of, exactly, but it’s certainly interesting.
“Nothing is stronger then the power of...”
“love?”
“Mabel.”
The cops running around in the broken hydrant spray is hilarious and adorable.
The whole Mailman/Male Man joke feels like a little bit of a stretch though...
Okay but Dipper’s been shown already to be stronger then the lifting the stick bit suggests. Like, I’m pretty sure gnomes are heavier then that stick.
And I think I missed something. Where exactly did Dipper get that jerky?
Also I have another Society of the Blind Eye question. Dan saw the Minotaur, but we can assume he got his memory of it erased. Dan saw Dipper while he was running away. Did this just not come up when the memory was being erased? Did he deliberately not tell the society about Dipper because, you know, they probably kidnapped him? Or did that detail just get lost in the shuffle? I’m overthinking again. The whole existence of the society does that to me.
The Minotaur does that “huh, uh-huh, uh-huh” thing while Dipper is talking that supposedly shows someone is “really listening” but honestly always drives me nuts and makes me feel completely un-listened to? He quite literally sniffed out Dipper’s emotional issues and invited him to talk but I wonder what creator intent was there with those reactions?
This isn’t the first time we’ve seen Mabel’s scrapbook, is it? I think it’s the first time she’s actually mentioned scrapbooking out loud. I could be wrong.
Also. Soos: “I’m soft, like a woman.” ...I love Soos. I love him so much. Absolutely no crisis of masculinity going on there.
Also I paused to type this and the look on Stan’s face walking up to Soos for this little role-play...he looks so scared. Like. Not, you know, bad things are happening terrified. Just. Like. *whimper* ...it’s kinda adorable.
You know, ironically, Dipper getting the Minotaurs to train him is an example of how Dipper’s specialty isn’t the physical but the mental. He’s smart yes but better then that, he’s clever. I mean sure, it’s a pretty obvious ploy, but he was so quick to think of it and it actually works.
Oh hey, the Pain Hole. They talk about this on the Nightmare Fuel page of TVtropes for Gravity Falls. ...yikes.
I...so...the training montage. I want to have thoughts about the training montage. I want desperately to have thoughts about the training montage. I just don’t. The training montage killed my brain. It’s done. I’m just gonna skip over what I’m sure was a lot of important, or at least hilarious, clips, and move on.
49 trials in a few hours though. That’s pretty impressive.
Dipper has a bigger reaction to this guy pulling a bone spear out of his chest then to him literally eating a dude ten seconds ago. Like...on one hand I almost get it? ‘cause I think that the pulling out the spear might be our goriest moment yet in the show (to of course be surpassed in subsequent episodes) but like. He literally ATE a dude. And nobody reacted. ...the fuck?
...and much like the jerky, where exactly did the Babba CD come from? Why was Dipper just carrying that with him?
Wow the multibear really lives out of the way, doesn’t he?
You know what? I feel really bad for Stan with this whole attempt to “fix” him. Mabel 100% has good intentions but like. This absoloutly can not have been good for the mans self esteem.
Dipper may not be that strong, but he’s fucking FAST. Always has been really.
Also multibear is adorable. And sad. Why was he so willing to just accept death? Why did he say it was “for the best”? What’s going on with the poor multibear? His bonding with Dipper is really sweet too.
lol “top 40 hits are in the top 40 for a REASON.” ...I don’t know why, but this quote reminds me of Glee. Specifically Blaine. I guess that’s just how old obsessions can bleed into new obsessions talking...
“Then I guess I’ll never be a man.” ...the subtle change of Dipper’s expression right after he says that is everything. There’s just...the tiniest moment of oh god...I really just said that didn’t I? But it’s not...alarm. It’s acceptance. It’s not just his stubbornness talking, but genuine conviction.
Honestly, Susan was so easily convinced to give Stan her number, I wonder if she didn’t also like him a little bit all along too? Y’know, it’s really too bad the show basically sinks this ship in a couple episodes. It could’ve been cute.
You know what I just realized? This is the first time we’ve seen a non-human and not gotten a journal page about them. Low key clue there are other journals? ...nah.
Okay so, Stan initially rejects Dippers story of hanging out with the Minotaurs, but I mean that had to have alarmed him at least a little bit, right? And he limits his rejection of it to “Here we go.” That’s the extent of his denial of the weird. ...I’m developing a theory that Stan developed a reflex to cover genuine concern with skepticism.
And then, maybe the best part of the whole episode, Stan telling Dipper that standing up for what was right when nobody wanted him to was “pretty manly”. That’s so incredibly sweet. And important. ...also it’s vaguely weird to me that Stan is summarizing the message of the entire episode.
...and then Stan literally rips his shirt open to make the kids laugh. I love him so much.
Also forget what I said about them sinking the Stan/Susan ship in a couple episodes. It’s sunk in the stinger.

ABC’s Once Upon a Time this Friday night not only checked in on the status of Rumplestiltskin and Belle’s happy beginning back in Storybrooke, it proceeded to chronicle the couple’s epic journey from there — leading right up to their very happy (if bittersweet) ending.
As they readied to celebrate son Gideon’s first birthday, Rumple gifted his wife with a scrapbook, which he said they will fill with mementos from her overdue travels. As they dug into that adventure, Rumple sought to cede the Dark One’s dagger once and for all, but it refused to be rid of him. Belle later translated a fairy prophecy which said that once the Dark One has found true love and arrived at the site of “the sun’s brightest set,” a path to his freedom would present itself.
Once Rumple and Belle found that mountaintop location, they decided to spend the years-long sunset making a home for themselves. And in the end, we and Rumple realized that what Belle purposely omitted from her translation is that it was her own “sunset,” her dying of old age, that would mark the start of Rumple’s next journey. Cue a tear-jerking montage, narrated by Belle, of the couple’s roller coaster-like romance, one throughout which they made her way back to each other “more than once” — and now, Belle with her last breaths trusts, “you’ll find your way back to me again.”
Former series regular Emilie de Ravin, who plays Belle, effused about her encore episode in this TVLine feature, but she also gives “a huge shout out to Mick Garris, who directed it. Lovely, lovely man, and he did such a beautiful job.”
Robert Carlyle meanwhile shared a statement in which he said, “Throughout the years, [Once creators] Adam [Horowitz] and Eddy [Kitsis] have provided me with some truly outstanding scripts and ‘Beauty’ is most definitely up there with the best of them. The emotional range this script demanded was exceptional and to have had the opportunity to work alongside director Mick Garris on this piece was a real pleasure.
“Through six seasons I’ve been blessed to have had the chance to work alongside the brilliant Emilie de Ravin,” Carlyle continued, “and being reunited with Emilie once more on this beautiful episode was such a joy. The entire ‘Rumbelle’ journey has been one of the most intense in my entire career and sharing that journey with Emilie has been an absolute delight.”
Reflecting on Belle’s death scene, de Ravin flagged the “more than once” nod to the couple’s travails, saying, “I love that she still has cute quirky sense of humor right up until the end. Her sarcasm never dies.”
Because Disney-PIXAR’s Up, which in part influenced the episode, is “one of my favorite movies,” de Ravin says, “I was kind of dying reading that script and then watching it with the music.” And while she raved about the cliffside home Rumbelle built (“Put that in Big Bear for me and I’m there!”), she had to question the division of labor as she and Carlyle did their scenes for the whimsical montage.
“I’m carrying this really heavy wooden bucket, which they filled up with probably four gallons of water. I’m carrying it and it looked real, it looked heavy. My arms were kind of sore after doing it a few times, but anyway… Bobby’s putting fake rocks in a wheelbarrow!” she shares with a hearty laugh. “Why do I get the heavy-ass bucket filled to the brim — you can’t even bloody see on-camera, how much water is in it! — and he’s loading little polystyrene rocks!”
Asked if she hopes to age as well as Belle, de Ravin (who says the dark gray wig was her favorite of the bunch) remarked of her various stages of graying, “I kept thinking, ‘So is this how it’s going to look [when I’m older]?’ It’s going to be interesting to have these pictures when I’m that age.”
Yet no amount of levity can take away from the fact that Belle passed away, leaving Rumple to seek out a dagger-less destiny — a journey that will eventually, years later, deposit him back in our realm, where he has just been awakened from his cursed persona as Seattle police detective Weaver. TVLine invited de Ravin to offer a message to those who have been there throughout Belle’s six-season saga.
“This show wouldn’t exist without our amazing fan base,” she started. “It’s such a beautiful, cool, exciting thing to be able to connect with them — whether it’s through social media or doing conventions. To hear people’s stories of ‘I met my best friend…,’ ‘I met my boyfriend…,’ ‘My children and I watch the show…,’ ‘It helped me through this….’ There are so many beautiful things that we are blessed to be able to hear about. To make people feel, to let people escape for an hour… or if they need a release to cry or laugh, or just a moment to sit down with their family and enjoy watching something… is special and so lovely. I love you, guys!”

Pairing(s): Peter Maximoff x Female Reader
Summary:  In the midst of all the chaos, heartbreak, and friendship, you fell in love with Peter as he did with you. Things don’t always turn out the way you wanted them to, but it’s not always a bad thing. + things you said when we were 18
Word Count: 5.6k+
Warnings: swearing, kinda angsty, mentions of sex
[A/N]: I don’t think Peter’s age is established so I made it up. Also, I don’t think his mother’s name is proved either so...? This is long overdue so thank you to all who were waiting. ( @v-writings I've mentioned this to you before. it was like two months ago, though) Also, I feel like Peter is.... OOC? yikes idk let me know
Fall
“How ‘bout that Kara girl?”
Peter blows a low whistle, “2, not counting the intense makeout sessions.”
You laugh loudly, glancing over to where Peter stood concentrated intently on a PacMan game. “Jesus, Pete, how many girls have you fucked?”
A triumphant melody plays from the game as Peter sits down with two muffins in his hand. “I don’t know. It was like a year since.”
He hands you a chocolate muffin and you gratefully take it. “Okay, so should I call you the new playboy or....?”
He chuckles softly, “Okay, what about you then. How many people have you hooked up with? Or dated at least.”
“Uhm,” you stutter, almost choking on the chocolate chips in your mouth. The question had seemingly caught you off guard, as Peter had never asked you anything about your love life- much less your nonexisting sex life. “I haven’t really had, a, uh, a serious relationship in a while.”
Peter looks at you disbelievingly, “[Y/N], you're kidding, right? What about Todd? I thought you two were a thing.”
“No, no. He’s just, uh, a crush. I mean, it’s no surprise.” you laugh a little, hoping to anyone that Peter would just drop the subject. Why'd he care so much anyway?
“Well, [Y/N], I mean you are pretty attractive. I would’ve thought guys would be pining after you.”
He’s speeding around the room now, doing everything he can do ignore looking at you. You’re blushing slightly, feeling butterflies fluttering in your stomach. “I’m just waiting for someone.”
“Can you tell me who it is?” Peter questions now appearing in front of you.
If only you knew.
“Nope, it’s a secret.” you smile, locking your lips. Peter pouts, folding his arms across his chest, “[Y/N], C’mon. You can’t keep secrets from your best friend.” Well, what were you supposed to say? Oh, yeah, you’re the reason I don’t let myself fall in love in hopes of you maybe falling in love with me. Yeah, right.
“[Y/N], please tell me.” he says, edging closer to you and you eye him cautiously, sensing an oncoming attack.
“Peter, if you’re about to do what I think you’re going to do, don’t you dare.” you hold up an accusing finger, but it’s too late. Peter has already tackled you onto the couch and is now tickling you to death.
You burst out into laughter, trying to push Peter off of you. “Peter,” you say, trying to catch your breath, “Pete, please,” you squealed, “Please, stop.”
He looks at you innocently, though you can tell he's trying to hide a smirk, "Stop what, [Y/N]?"
You're tugging on his hands, trying to get him to let go. "Pete-" you giggle in between attempts of breathing, "Peter, please!"
Peter removes his hands and you inhale deeply trying to catch a breath. It's only when you have opened your eyes that you become aware of the close proximity between Peter. You both are extremely flustered, yet you both didn’t dare move. A split-second and you swear his eyes darted to your lips. You're just seeing things now, [Y/N].
The instant he realizes that he's leaning in Peter quickly dashes to the other side of the room playing another round of PacMan. You had contemplated whether to inquire it. Balancing that moment back there, whether it was real or not. Maybe you had thought you’ve seen it. Maybe that moment didn’t actually happen and you were too caught up in your own imprudent feelings. Whether it did or did not, you would not be the one to bring it up. Not if it meant you would probably make yourself look like an idiot.
So you let the somewhat comfortable silence overtake the room and you stare up at the ceiling, never catching the quick, flustered glances Peter would steal from you. Him not knowing either if you felt something back there. He knew he definitely did. He felt like an idiot for thinking you had felt the same way, thinking you would've kissed him back if he would've inched any closer.
There’s a tension that quickly disappears when Peter speaks again, and both of you fall back into a normal conversation as if nothing had happened.
Which nothing had. Or at least that’s what you had told yourselves.
Winter
The air’s chip, a cold yet burning feel against your skin. You’re surprised it isn’t snowing yet, it would always fall around this time of year. A couple of houses are passed by until you reach Peter's. You hesitate before knocking on the door. You step back, using every passing second to calm your nerves. It was just a gift. Nothing extremely special. But what if he didn't like it?
"[Y/N]!" Peter's mom greets as she opens the door. "What a pleasant surprise! What are you doing here?"
You smile, hugging your hoodie closer to your body. "I thought I'd come by before I leave to Aspen."
She smiles warmly, opening the door wider for you to come in. “Peter’s downstairs,” she says, walking to the kitchen. You thank her quickly and make your way to the basement. Pink Floyd fills your ears as Peter stands near, playing table tennis.
"Hey, [Y/N]," he says, now in front of you, " I thought you were leaving today."
A smile makes its way to your face as you take off your sweater. "No, we actually leave tomorrow. I, uh, I came to give you something, before we leave." you sit down on his bed, Peter following suit.
He looks at you expectantly. Brown eyes looking so innocent. You suck in a breath and pull out a neatly wrapped package. Handing it to him, you smile brightly. "Merry Christmas, Pete."
He looks shocked at first. He never thought you would even bother to give him anything. Pleasant feelings set in his chest. You actually give a damn. "Can I open it?" he asks, motioning to the gift.
You nod curtly, waiting as he quickly unwraps the gift to see a book. No, a photo album? Wait- a scrapbook?
Peter looks at the front. Both of your names in bold letters. He flips through the first pages, which is filled with polaroids of you and him that he didn't even know existed.
"You made this?" he asks, still flipping through the blue-colored book.
You nod, nervously picking at your nails awaiting his reaction. "Yeah," you say.
He smiles, finally looking up at you, eyes glassed over with tears. You furrow your brows, confused as to why he was close to crying. "Are you okay? Do you not like it? It's okay if you don't. I could-"
"I love it." he interrupts and you smile though you're still confused. "It's just," he sniffles, turning to look at you fully. "I didn't think you cared."
You frown, taking his hand in yours, ignoring how fast your heart speeds up. "Of course I care, Peter. You're my best friend."
Friend. The words leave a bitter taste in his mouth. Of course, you looked at him as only a friend. But, it was okay. Better than nothing. "Thank you, [Y/N]," he says, tears almost spilling out of his eyes. "I have something for you too," he says "wait here." and then he speeds off upstairs.
A couple of minutes go by while you patiently sit in his room, toying with objects near you. "Here it is," he says, now standing at the foot of his bed. You jump, not expecting for him to come back quickly. He holds out a black box to you and you slowly take it out of his hands. Peter watches you examine the box before untying the golden ribbon around it.
You glance up to Peter, who's blushing lightly. When you take the top of the box off, Peter's hands stops yours from picking up the many objects inside. "I spent a lot of months making those," he says, seeming extremely nervous, "I just really hope you like it. They mean a lot."
You smile reassuringly and Peter removes his hand. Inside the box, there are mixtapes. Lots of them. And they're all labeled differently. Your smile grows as if it possibly can, and you take one that catches your eye. On the front, in black Sharpie, is written FRESHMAN YEAR. You look to your side where Peter's standing, grinning goofily. "You made all of these?" you ask, smiling down at the box.
He blushes profusely, speeding to the couch. "Yeah, I've been making them since freshman year. I was going to give it to you when we graduated, but, I, uh, I thought it would've been better now."
"Thank you, Pete. These are amazing. I'll be sure to listen to all of these during my trip." you say, walking over to him to hug him tightly. He hugs you back with just as much strength. You're both on the verge of crying, feeling an enormous amount of affection for each other. He would rarely open up to anyone, leaving you to be very special to him whenever there were intimate moments like this.
Peter pulls back after a couple of seconds. "Do you, uh, maybe want to do something before you leave...." his voice trails off as he speeds to the ping pong table, holding up two rackets.
"Uhm, actually, I should get going. I have to see if there's anything else to pack." you start to gather your things, smiling apologetically at him. "I'll see you when I get back?"
His smile falters slightly, but not enough for you to notice. "Yeah, you should," he says, now playing ping pong by himself. "Bring me something back, will ya? Maybe a postcard?" you laugh.
"I'll make sure of it. Bye Pete." "Bye"
You walk up the stairs, bidding goodbye to Peter's mom before walking out the door. The cold air immediately hits you and you shiver, beginning your short trek home. A montage of Peter plays through your head. From the time you broke into the school swimming pool in sophomore year to now. It felt like if it was just yesterday you and Peter had met, back in 7th grade. Two awkward pre-teen kids who were too afraid to sit with other kids at lunch.
That was then, though, it's all different now. You're both 18, with different thoughts and feelings. But somehow, in the midst of all the many responsibilities being an adult brought you, you had managed to catch feelings for you best friend. You had denied it many times before. You did not have feelings for your best friend. It was not true, even if your racing heart and lingering touches said the contrary.
You continue to walk, trying to forget your foolish thoughts, trying to convince yourself it was just a phase. But the truth was, you were falling for him, harder than you thought. You just didn't know it yet.
Spring
The school hallways are filled with noises of chatter about prom. Who's going with who was the most talked subject at this time, as well as what color their dates would wear. Prom was a couple weeks away. Not just any prom, senior prom. In your honest opinion, it did not fully matter to you. But, since your mom was hellbent on you going (said it was a 'once in a lifetime' experience) you had no choice but to engage in the festivities.
From beside you, a voice calls your name and you turn your head, expecting it to be Peter. Instead, it's your crush, Todd, who was trying to make his way to you. "Hey, [Y/N]," he smiles, and you're just about to pass out right there. "I-I wanted to ask you something."
You smile, making sure to not show how excited you are. Is he about to ask you what you think he is? "Sure, ask me anything."
He begins to scratch the back of his neck, and it's only now you see that he looks extremely nervous. "Do you plan on going to prom?" he asks.
You're shocked a little, considering you didn't even know he knew you existed. "Uh, yeah, that's the plan," you say, letting out a breathy laugh.
"Do you already have a date?" he inquires.
"Uh, no, no not yet."
He smiles widely, "Okay, well I'll see ya later."
You wave as he leaves, once he's out of sight you continue to walk to your locker, letting out an exasperated sigh. What the hell just happened?
Peter's standing at your locker when you get there, and you skip excitedly to him, "Pete! Hey! How's your morning?"
He laughs at your enthusiasm, finding the way you jump a little incredibly cute. "It was good," he says, moving to stand next to you as you open your locker. "How was yours?"
"Great! Awesome, amazing!" Peter eyes you suspiciously, "Okay what happened?" he asks with a knowing look.
You laugh nervously, "What are you talking about? Nothing happened, absolutely nothing." you pretend to be confused, but with your heart beating a mile a minute you're pretty sure it did not convince Peter.
"Seriously [Y/N], you're never happy in the mornings. Especially when we have Calculus next."
You bite your lip, trying to hide your smile. "I think Todd is going to ask me to prom." it comes out quietly but for Peter, it sounded like you were yelling. What? No. No fucking way. He was supposed to be the one to ask you. It was his only night that he could've had you. As more than a friend.
You slam your locker shut, snapping Peter out of his daze enough to realize what’s actually happening. “How?” he asks, and you shoot him a confused look. “How do you know?” he looks evidently discouraged like someone who had been standing in line for a long time only to figure out it was the wrong line.
“Well,” you start, now walking to class with Peter begrudgingly trailing behind you. “He asked me if I had a date. Then, he smiled, like, really brightly. I just, I don’t know, I feel like he's going to."
Peter internally dies a little. What an idiot to think you were going to be reserved for only him. “What if he doesn’t? Then who would you go with?”
"I don't know yet. I mean, everyone has been saying he's had a crush on me since, like, freshman year." Peter halts to a stop when you turn to face him. Your eyes looked hopeful enough to almost make Peter forget his dilemma. Almost. "Besides, I have you, right?"
Peter sighs quietly, mentally taking a front row seat in the friend-zone. "Right"
Prom Night
The smell of spiked punch takes over your mouth as you continue to down your drink. There's a overplayed pop song blaring from the speakers. Peter stands on the other side of the room, watching you laugh at something that Todd had said.
The girl in front of him is talking animatedly, but Peter can't hear a word she's saying. All his attention is fixated on you. The color of the dress you're wearing and how gorgeous your eyes seem to blend. Oh, god you look fucking angelic.
He watches as Todd leans in to whisper in your ear to quickly pull back and you're nodding with an understanding smile. He stalks away, blending into the crowd.
A slow song begins to take place of the previous upbeat one, and couples begin to crowd the dance floor. Peter looks over at you where you're back to downing your drink, watching him with slight amusement. It's now or never.
He heads over to you, hands tucked neatly into the pockets of his trousers. “[Y/N]," he starts, waiting as you turn around and smile brightly.
"Never thought I'd see you in a tux.” you say, picking at the cupcake in your hand.
Peter's cheeks blush slightly, feeling grateful for the terrible lighting that you can't see him. "My, uh, mom said it would've been better instead of wearing my jeans."
“She was right, it suits you.” a wink is sent Peter’s way, darkening his blush furthermore. An awkward silence follows as you both avoid eye contact. It had been an occurring thing now, everything seemed to be tenser. It was weird, considering in your years of friendship nothing like this had dawned on the two of you.
"Wanna dance?" you ask, although you had no right to. You were the one that had ditched him for Todd, only to feel completely terrible, regretting the moment you had said yes.
Peter nods, "Yeah, sure." and you both begin to make your way to where people are dancing. Peter hesitantly places his hands on your waist, and you follow by wrapping your arms around his neck.
The tension, you both feel it, is ridiculously thick. Since when had things gotten so awkward between you? You two have been friends for ages, so, what the hell was happening?
"Sorry." you whisper, a pang of guilt hitting your chest.
Peter sighs, "Don't be, it's not your fault."
You laugh dryly, "Yes, it is. I totally forgot the promise we made in freshman year. I should've never said yes."
“It’s not like you could've remembered. It was so long ago."
You scoff, rolling your eyes. "That's the thing. I did remember when Todd asked me. I still said yes, though, I could've said no."
Peter responds with silence because there's nothing else he can say. He knows it's true. You did remember the pact you made in 9th grade. There was no point denying it. "It's okay. I wanted you to be happy."
Your heart clenches, almost spilling out three words when Todd's voice interrupts you. "Hey, mind if I take her now?"
"No, not at all." Peter wastes no time to unwrap his arms from around you and you almost whine at the loss of warmth. "She's all yours." he says, and then he's gone before you can say anything else.
Todd takes you into his arms and you lean your head on his shoulder. It doesn't feel right, it doesn't feel the same. But, how could it when the one you're supposed to be with is not even here? That's just it, though. You're in love with him.
Even if it had taken almost a year for you to admit it, you, [Y/N] [Y/L/N], was in love with him, Peter Maximoff.
He was now standing on the sides, watching you dance with someone else. He should've never waited. This should’ve been his night. He was supposed to be the one to pick you up at your house and say you're beautiful and then kiss you at the end when he took you home.
This could’ve been his night. You could’ve been his.
Graduation Day
A banner is being taken down in the front of your school. CLASS OF '72 is painted on the white paper in a fluorescent red. The crowd that was formed around you had dispersed into what was now only you. It felt like the four years you had spent here were only fleeting moments.
An arm swings around your shoulder, weighing you down. Peter's at your side, standing in a blue cap and gown. "Hmmm, time seems to move too quickly."
You laugh, turning your head to look at him. "That's because you're Quick Feet."
He smiles cheekily at you, "Yeah, I know that but also as a metaphor. And it's Quicksilver."
"Yeah, okay, sure." you mock, your stare lingering slightly on Peter.
You supposed to crush, or as you liked to call it, infatuation had been going a little over what you like to guess a year. It's always subconsciously been there. Even before you would like to admit it, it had consistently been picking at your heart to notice.
The silver-haired boy has seemed to catch your stare, and you both blushed profusely, stepping slightly away from each other. "You ready to take on the world partner?"
You laugh loudly, and Peter can't help but have his heart flutter. "I guess so," you bow your head, tipping your imaginary hat "partner."
Peter sticks out his arm for you to take, "Shall we?"
"We shall." you reply, intertwining your arm through his.
It was strange, Peter had looked so grown in his gown. He looked like a full-blown adult, even if he acted far from it. His features were extremely different than from the time you had entered high school.
Physical features were one thing that had changed, as well as the feelings you were currently hiding from each other.
Summer
The smell of salt water overtakes your nose, deepening the feeling of relaxation. Peter sat on a bench in the back of the beach house you two had snuck into this weekend. You were playing slightly with the water that would come to shore. He rarely would be patient, it would strike a nerve in him if he would do almost anything at a normal pace. But for you, he would stop everything completely just to make time go slower.
"Peter!" he hears you yell "Peter, c'mon!" your hands motion him excitedly towards you, and he complies, standing in front of you faster than you can process.
You let out a breathy laugh “What were you doing?”
“Nothing. Just, uh... Nothing.”
“Okay,” you eye him skeptically. “So, I was thinking...” your voice trails off as you start to walk the shoreline. “Maybe we could order take-out, and maybe watch a movie or some-” you turn.
The close proximity shocked you out of talking. You both are frozen to the spot and then-
he starts leaning in.
Is he leaning in? You think he’s leaning in. Yeah, he’s definitely leaning in.
There’s a sunset on your right, and there are seagulls flying above.  Electricity was going up in you, and your heart was soaring. It’s the most cliche thing ever but it’s just how you wanted it to be. You want to lean in too. You want to grab his shirt and push his lips to your and finally confess everything.
But you don't. And you regret everything.
You clear your throat, backing away from him. "We should probably head inside. It's starting to get cold." You avert your gaze, afraid if you had looked him in the eye you might've broken down into tears.
Peter's face is full of heartbreak, and to be completely honest he wouldn't care if you had seen it. "Yeah," he sighs. "I think we should too."
"Peter, wait-"
"WHAT, [Y/N]?! What else do you want?!"
You're taken aback by his sudden change in mood. He had never shouted at you. "Peter, what's wrong?"
He laughs humorlessly, holding his hands up in exasperation. "You really don't see it, [Y/N]?"
"No." you whisper, your voice cracking a bit.
A gust of wind blows past you and then, he's gone. Leaving you alone with your thoughts.
It had been the right thing to do, right? I mean, you're already crossing the line if you're in love with your best friend, kissing them is way beyond.
If it was right, then why does it feel so wrong?
You walk to the back of the house, kicking off your shoes as you slide the back door open. Peter had left, you could feel it. Oh, god what the hell have you done?
You could've had it all. You could've had Peter, you could've finally got to kiss him. But you didn't. And all for what? For being afraid losing him. And looked how that turned out.
You lost him anyway.
Fall
Her eyes are filled with pity, furthering the feeling of pain in your chest. “I’m sorry,” she says, probably for the thirteenth time today “he hasn’t come home today.”
You smile sadly looking down at your shoes. “It’s fine. Just let me know, okay?”
She nods before closing the door, and you start walking to your house. You had not talked to Peter since summer, in which had turned into you thinking he absolutely hated you after what had happened. Though he had every right to, part of you hoped it wasn’t true.
You unlock your door, quickly stepping inside and setting your keys aside.
“Hey baby, how’d it go?” your mom’s voice comes from the living room.
You sigh, sitting next to her on the couch as you put your head on her lap. “Not good. His mom says he’s not home. I just think he doesn’t want to see me.”
Your mother nods understandingly, giving you the millionth pitied smile you’ve received today. “I’m sorry you have to leave without saying goodbye. I know how much Peter means to you.”
You sigh, almost on the brim of tears again. You hold them back, though. You were an adult now, you could handle yourself, right?
“It’s fine. I just wanted to see him one last time. Maybe get to hug him one last time too.”
She kisses your forehead, a simple gesture enough to let you feel at ease. “Just get some rest now okay? You have a long trip tonight.”
_____
“Promise me you’ll take care of yourself.”
You chuckle, wrapping your arms tighter around your mom. “I promise. Don’t worry, okay? I’ll call every morning and every night.” she chuckles squeezing you one more time before letting go.
Her eyes are filled with tears, some already cascading down her cheeks. “My baby has grown so fast.”
You both let out watery laughs, hugging once more before she lets you get into the car. “I’ll miss you. I love you.”
“I love you too, mom.”
And then you’re driving off. Turning out of the neighborhood you grew up in and then traveling into the freeway and fleeing from the town you had grown up in. Everything felt nice, finally being able to go anywhere other than the same town.
It was weird, at the beginning of fall last year, you would have never imagined leaving to college in a stuffed car you had managed to buy from the used car dealer. It almost felt complete, though, something was missing.
Peter was missing.
_____
Peter’s form has been glued to the living room window ever since you had left with a longing look in his eyes. Although Peter could be stubborn at times, his heart had sunken when he saw you get into your car. It was his fault, though, he had been the one to choose to ignore you for the whole summer.
What else could he do, though? You had broken his heart into a million pieces without even blinking an eye. It had hurt him. You were the person he had been in love since the beginning of high school. And then, just like that, you had burned down his hopes.
"You should go find her before it's too late."
Peter's head shoots up to the door, where his mom is leaning against. "I don't know what you're talking about." he lies.
A scoff emits from his mother's mouth, and Peter knows she's not going to let this go. "Peter, don't you want to?"
"Maybe I do."
“Then what are you waiting for?”
“What if she doesn’t want to see me?”
His mother softly chuckles, “Peter, of course, she wants to see you. She came by three times today and you were the one who didn’t want to see her.”
She walks to him and sits down, putting a comforting hand on Peter’s shoulder. “C’mon. What are you afraid of.”
“[Y/N]. And her not feeling the same way.”
“Peter!” he jumps, shocked from his mother’s sudden outburst. “Can’t you see it? She’s in love with you!”
And you were, very in love with him. It was only now that Peter realized when it was coming out of someone else’s mouth.
He had never run faster in his life.
_____
In a gas station, seemingly in the middle of nowhere, you stood in an aisle, staring at the Twinkies in front of you.
You remembered the way Peter would have boxes of them stacked in his room, and wrappers everywhere. You would always scold him for it, saying he left too much of a mess. He would always roll his eyes, replying with a snarky comment on how you cared too much.
He was right. You were always caring too much.
“Will that be all?” asks the cashier at the front, who clearly looks unamused.
“Uh, yeah. And 20 on 4.”
He nods, reciting your total out loud. After handing him some cash, you make your way to your car. A gust of wind suddenly whips around you, instantly making you think of Peter. What a coincidence.
You quickly pump your gas, opening a Twinkie in the process. You savor the sweet taste and only know do you understand why Peter loved these so much. That’s weird, huh? Everything seems to lead back to him.
After fully removing the pump from your car, you take the driver’s seat. You almost have a heart attack.
“I never-”
“HOLY SHIT!”
The voice sounded like Peter’s, though you have no time to see because you’re out of the car and running back towards the convenience store. “[Y/N]! [Y/N]!”
And then he’s standing in front of you. Peter is standing in front of you.
He looks different. Much different from the Peter you had almost kissed three months ago. Could he have possibly, maybe, matured? He could’ve, but you wouldn’t know, you hadn’t talked to him.
“Peter?” is all you can say because this doesn’t seem real.
He doesn’t answer, only responding by leaning closer to you. This time, though, you lean in too. You don't remember who was the one to close the proximity between you two but it happened. His lips had slammed into yours. It was messy, inexperienced, and this time there was no sunset nor a beach in the background. Just two teen, or now adults, who were making-out in a gas station in the middle of the night.
It's a peculiar place to confess your love to one another, but you couldn't ask for anything else. If it weren't for the knock that startled the both of you, you would've probably forgotten where you were actually at.
"Can you both move out of the doorway? I don't want yall startling my customers!"
Both of you blush furiously, pulling away from each other with lovestruck smiles on your faces. "Peter-"
"[Y/N]-"
Peter's smile grows "You first." he says
"Peter, I'm so sorry it took so long for me to admit this. And I'm also so sorry for breaking your heart, I thought it was the right thing to do at the moment. But, not anymore." Your eyes are filled with unshed tears, but they're not from the desolation, it's from the happiness and swelling in your heart.
"Peter, I think I'm in love with you."
He lets out a watery laugh, "I think I'm in love with you too."
It doesn't take long for the both of you to pull each other in a passionate kiss, putting all the emotions and unsaid feelings into one chaste kiss. After pulling away, you pull each other tightly into a hug. One that makes all the heartbreak and saddened souls dissipate into now only love.
"I missed you so much."
Before you know it, you're both sobbing into each other, Peter fully revealing himself to you which only makes you cry harder.
You both know it now. After all this time, you had known subconsciously what you wanted.
Each other and only each other.
