Imagining nie huaisang having a flock of spiritual birds.

Just his mother knowing early on that he would likely never be a great cultivator and getting him two spiritual beasts in the form of birds—wanting him to have something to protect himself with and figuring he might actually take an interest in training the beasts if they were his favorite animal. It would be just her luck that the two birds (that were both supposed to be male) end up a mated and bonded pair once fully grown. Luckily, they also appear to view huaisang, who raised them from chicks, as the leader of their little bird flock. Her husband, viewing this as both useful and hilarious, decides to build their son an aviary—aka a giant nesting area for giant birds. Which is fantastic if you are a humongous, newly mated bird looking to start a bird family. You see where this is going.

But Wei Ying has always been stubborn, and this is not enough to discourage him. Kay's comments: Lan Zhan is Wei Ying's new neighbour, so obviously, he has no choice but needle himself into his life! Love how Lan Zhan eventually switches and goes all in despite being quite frosty in the beginning. Excerpt: He discovered this about a week after the handsome stranger moved into the two-bedroom apartment across the hall. The very first time that Wei Ying tried introducing himself, he’d knocked on the man’s door and offered him a cup from a nearby cafe. “I do not drink coffee,” the man had said with a scowl, as if Wei Ying’s mere presence was an inconvenience. That day, he'd practically slammed the door in Wei Ying’s face. So, Wei Ying knows a couple of things about his new neighbor. One, he does not drink coffee. Two, he is rather rude. But Wei Ying has always been stubborn, and this is not enough to discourage him. He tries bringing bagels from the shop around the corner. His neighbor looks at him suspiciously and closes the door once more. He tries a box of tea from a fancy gift shop. This, at least, his neighbor accepts, and Wei Ying manages to find out his name. When Lan Zhan does not open the door the next day, Wei Ying leaves a small bouquet of daisies on his doormat.

For some reason Nie Huaisang doesn’t seem to understand that in order to learn to shoot with a bow it is not necessary to move your hips so much or stick them so close to Jiang Cheng's.

You can tell me this isn't WWX post sunshot during saving the wens and JGY literally all the time.

They have better control over it for sure but they are always just one snap away from choosing to destroy anything that remotely seems like a threat.

Of course post resurrection WWX is better and calmer even. (Also wonder if it's cause post sunshot WWX didn't have a core but post resurrection WWX did have mxy's core even if it was very weak. Does the golden core play into the mental health lines as well?)

Also he had too much to lose post sunshot, he was constantly on edge and not doing well, because of lack of resources and being labelled threat by the rest of the cultivation world so people were constantly trying to shoot him down.

But JGY is always on the edge like the prey animal he is. Cause he is, he has been prey too long, he can never let go of that and honestly he isn't wrong. There's not one canonical moment where he's not actively being preyed on.

This isn't even about defending his actions but he literally is a prey always. From his days in the brothel to his days as chief cultivator. His predators may change depending on his actions but his position as prey never changes.
